They have been a huge stepping stone in the process of helping us pursue our future dreams and guiding us in the right direction from the very beginning. Thank you all for your hard work. As we continue into the assembly, I would like to introduce our student speakers
and Alexander Sharing. Hi everyone, my name is Yanelli Ortado and today I'm going to speak about my journey as an AVID student in high school. If I'm being honest, high school hasn't been some perfect straight path for me. It's been a mix of good moments, stressful moments, and times where I honestly didn't know if I was going in the right direction. There were days where I felt really motivated and proud of myself and other days where I felt overwhelmed. And I bet all of you have felt that way before. For me, being an AVID was part of that journey. AVID didn't magically fix things or make life easy. What it did do was give me structure when I needed it and push me when I didn't always want to be pushed. It reminded me to
stay organized, to think ahead, and to actually take myself seriously, even when I doubted myself. As seniors, we can agree that having one teacher by our side all throughout high school made our experience even more enjoyable. And for our AVID family, we were lucky enough to get to have two teachers that did that for us. As we entered high school clueless about our futures, our former AVID teacher, Mrs. Adding, helped guide us to success during the toughest and most difficult times. Although Mrs. Adding was unable to stay with us our whole four years of AVID, we are so grateful for the path she paid for us. And as we moved into our junior year, Mrs. Aloff stepped up and took the role. During the most overwhelming years of our high school experience, Mrs. Alop has
helped us with tedious scholarships, resumes, and much more. As an AVID family, we are appreciative for her willingness to help us reach our future goals. And for the both of them, we are forever thankful for the contributions to get us where we are today. But more than anything, Avid gave me a space where I could grow over time. Not all at once, not perfectly, but gradually. And I think that's something I've had to learn the hard way. Growth doesn't happen overnight. It happens in small moments. Showing up to class when you don't feel like it. Turning something in even if it's not perfect, and asking for help when you'd rather just stay quiet. And before I finish, I also want to take a moment to thank the people who supported us outside of the classroom.
To our parents, guardians, families, and teachers, and everyone else who stood by us beside beside us throughout this journey. Thank you. Especially to our mom and dads. Thank you for all the sacrifices, encouragement, patience, and support you gave us even during the moments when we doubted ourselves. I also want to personally thank my parents and family for always supporting and believing in me throughout this journey. I truly would not be standing here today without their sacrifices, encouragement, and constant support. And I will always be grateful for everything that they have done for me. A lot of what we accomplished today is because of the love, guidance, and support we receive from all of you. And for that, we are forever grateful. High school taught me more than just academics. It taught me that failure isn't
the end. It's just part of the process. And as I stand here on senior signing day looking at all of you and thinking of all the people that couldn't be here with us today. I'm not just proud of where we are going. I'm proud of how far we have come. Not because everything was perfect, but because it wasn't and we still made it through. I wish all of you the best in whatever comes next and I hope you achieve everything your younger selves desired. The future is bright. Thank you and good luck class of 2026. Alexandra But I mean, Preparator. curriculum. Foreign speech. Foreign speech. Foreign speech. Momento. Gracias. Grandpa is part of Seniors. Gracias. As we continue into the program, it is with my pleasure to introduce our teacher speaker, Mrs. Mey. Thank you,
Mrs. Mey, for your unwavering dedication and for all of the students lives you have positively impacted. Let's give a round of applause for Mrs. Mey. Welcome parents, staff, students, and last but not least, the class of 2026. I when I began to write the speech, I had two thoughts. First, how do I say goodbye to a class that has made me laugh and smile more than any class before and also cause so many of my classroom rules to be instituted because of them? I'm talking about you, Bubbles. And second, what words can I use to describe this particular class of graduates? This class has a personality all its own. You are spirited, honest, energetic, and impossible to ignore. Sometimes literally. You have brought humor into our classrooms, life into our hallways, and enough memorable moments
to keep teachers telling stories for years to come. And wow, do we have a lot of them. Your inclusive nature, resilience, and strong personal convictions have made you a class of confident individuals who will succeed at anything you attempt to accomplish. Your compassion for others and your ability to put others before yourselves has been evident in your actions. A great example of this was during your sophomore year. Unified basketball was in need of in great need of student helpers for the season. And I asked students in my classes if they would join unified as student helpers so that the team could play their season. Kaiser was the first to volunteer and Casey was the second. And due to their leadership skills, so many joined so that the team could play their season. And I know
it meant so much to the players on the team as well as the parents that all of you did what you could do to help. And as a parent, I am forever grateful for this class to be for being such great friends to Alex. I know he will miss you and I know he wishes that he was graduating with you. You have shown leadership is not always about being the loudest person in the room, but about quietly stepping up when others need you the most. The kindness, compassion, and selflessness of this class are qualities that will continue to make a difference long after graduation. Many of you have faced difficult challenges to make it this far. And your resilience and strong convictions have helped you overcome obstacles, stay true to yourselves, and continue moving forward
even when things were difficult. That confidence in who you are is something many adults are still trying to figure out. Yet so many of you already carry it with strength and maturity. As teachers and staff, we have watched you grow over these past four years. We've seen you um overcome challenges, support your classmates, and learn how to advocate for yourselves and others. We have watched quiet students find their voices, leaders emerge in unexpected places, and friendships form between people who may never have crossed paths otherwise. You have left your mark on this school and the people in it in ways that go far beyond academics. And as you move forward, I hope you continue to be exactly who you are, thoughtful, determined, compassionate, and unapologetically authentic. We are proud of you for not only for
who you've what you have accomplished, but for the people you have become. Today, we're here to celebrate the next chapter in your lives. Some of you will be attending universities and continuing your academic journeys. And some will head to community colleges to explore opportunities and build towards future careers. And some will enter trade schools, learning skills that are practical, valuable, and essential to our community. Others will serve in the military, committing yourselves to leadership, discipline, and service. One of the most important lessons that life teaches us is that success does not look the same for everyone. There is no single right path after graduation. But what matters is finding purpose, continuing to grow, and pursuing goals that are meaningful for you. And this class is filled with students who are ready to do exactly that.
So no matter where life takes you or the challenges you face, I know that the odds will be forever in your favor. Thank you. Okay. So this ceremony was actually uh came about several years ago and The idea was to get a large group of people together who support and care for our students to watch them as they commit to creating a future pathway for themselves. And I think that not every pathway is the same. These students though who you see on the panels we had a few morning they did very well.
Thank you very much. But they have chosen this path that they announced to you today and part of making a goal is to actually announce it and share with people and have people support you in that goal and that is what we are here for. We have supported them through the last 18 years and I know our support will never end for them but it will change. They're going to get out on their own. So that's what this is about y'all. This is a promise to yourselves that regardless of how your path takes you, you will keep forging a path. You will keep moving forward and you will keep trying to do the things that are going to make your life fulfilling and meaningful. Everybody around you cares for you and supports you. So lean
on that. lean on each other and most of all finding the strength within yourself that I know you have to get through the hard stuff and find the joy in yourself to have fun with the good stuff. All right, so this certificate basically says that we are committed to our passion and we are honoring that commitment by signing our name. So with that being said, please sign your certificates. All right, we are going to have our speakers come up for closing. Actually, you know what? Round of applause. Parents, you are welcome. Take as many pictures you want. Enjoy set of Instagram.
