Any changes or additions? >> Reminder, tonight's is a special meeting. So, due to the circumstances, special meeting, we're not allowed to change the agenda. So, it'll play out just as it's advertised. >> Hearing visitors, seeing none new business. So, let me back up and give you a little background before we proceed with uh some action. Reminder that uh Columbia School District submitted and received a grant to remodel the gym bathrooms earlier this year. Uh the purpose of the grant was to
002provide ADA access in the community restroom locations. Uh reminder just to differentiate these are the two community restrooms. These are not touching the locker rooms though. So I don't want I don't want to have any preconceived notions that we're messing anywhere in the locker rooms. Um this was just to address ADA access. So the grant awarded to our district was $150,000. Uh bids were solicited from Alliance Construction Management Firm. That's who we've hired, Earl. We worked with him in the past uh via the small works roster. It's all been done in accordance with policy 6220 and the procedure. Each of the conductors have conducted on-site walkthroughs that you have in front of you. And tonight, uh I'm asking the board seeking approval of a contract to begin construction if we can get it started on
003time. Literally the Monday after school starts uh June 15th. So questions on the background before we look at the bids. Okay. Not hearing any in front of you. You have three construction bids. We have Banlin, Booth, and Seiffkin. Um you can see the Banlin um bid came in 139,000 and some change. Booth and Suns 173,000 and some change. Safkin and Suns came in 124,000 and change. Again, all of them were here conducted site walkthroughs were able to ask and answer any questions they had of myself and our construction firm. So, they kind of understand the details and the scope of the work being done. They have all the paperwork, all the blueprints, drafts, and everything. These were their bids to complete that work. 004yeah. >> So, you know, I've been around this kind of work for quite some time, and it's low bidder work for the most part, and one of those strategies of low bid is to get the job low and then go in and change order, a whole bunch of change orders. So, I hope we lay some groundwork early on that that's not what this is all about. Um, you know, we took a low bid that's been qualified by our project manager, right? So, you know, I just when we do these projects in the past, I said it every time. We just need to be very conscious and not just be willing to do change orders. Pull pull them to the line. This is their bid. So, just want to get that out there. comments? >> If

I just think it's low bidder. Uh I think all three are very reputable companies and so I think it just merits going with low bidder. >> I guess just to qualify this, I've worked with all three of them and they're great companies.
