Welcome audience and positive comments. Looks like Graciey's up here. Your turn. >> In the last month, the ASB has taken many steps to better our school and our ASB as a team. On the third, we played a whole we had a whole school assembly. After doing the greeting, we put a video that we created a videoing people all over the school ask them questions about respectfulness. We did this because respectfulness is a personality trait of the quarter. This was a fun thing because the little kids were excited to be in a video for the assembly. In this assembly, we played two games where we picked people from the superhero teams to compete for points. The games were head shoulders knees cut and a cup flipping race. We also did our monthly traition tradition of tiger

cat awards where teachers less staff can nominate anyone in the school for doing something good. On the seventh the ASB officers and two middle schoolers went to an ASB workshop in Kax. The middle schoolers went as potential future officers. Throughout the day we learned many important things. We learned about creating or creative events other schools have done. We made a poster about what we love about our school and what we'd like to improve. We worked on network networking and being social with new people. Also, we talked about taking care of our students/ peers and ourselves. One of our biggest takeaways from this event was the organizational tool called a duty board. This helps us keep track of what we need to do, are doing, and have done. It also helps us keep track of who

is working on what. This was a very helpful and fun day for everyone who went. On the 17th, the ASG put together an escape room. We put together four rooms, one for each super team. In the rooms, some puzzles required elementary, middle school, high school, and staff to participate. The ASB has never run an escape room like this before. It was a Halloween theme and had a story line of escaping a classroom, but we made sure that it wasn't too scary for the little kids. The teams were challenged to finish the escape room first to win the most points for their teams. While the other teams were still working on the rooms, the teams that were finished played a follow the leader type game in the pit. Afterwards, we asked people of all ages how

they thought it went, and it seemed to be a very positive experience from everyone. For the next two weeks, we are focusing on planning homecoming events. Homecoming week will be from October 27th through the 1st of November. We have already created a dress up thing for homecoming week. We sent out a forum for the high school to vote for homecoming royalty. And the volleyball is playing a game on the 30th against the alumni volleyball players. At this game, we will be announcing our royalty. This should be a very engaging event for the community. We have a lot of fun dance planned for homecoming, but we still need to finalize everything. >> Thank you. >> Does anybody have any questions for Gracie? We going good. Good work. >> I need to know who the officers are.

I'm kind of behind on that. Could you tell me that, please? >> So, the president is Olivia McGregor. >> Okay. >> The vice president is Chloe Wadell. >> Okay. >> The secretary is Olivia. >> The treasurer is Jay Con. >> And I am the representative. >> Okay. To the board. >> Yes. >> Okay. Great. Thank you very much. Thanks for coming. [Music] >> See you, Wyatt. >> Yeah, Wyatt. Nice for you being there. >> Okay, moving on to the consent agenda. We're going to take each one individually. We'll start with uh 6A Jeff Gates out of field computer science teaching. >> I move we approve computer science for Jeff Gates for 24.6. >> It's been moved and seconded to approve Jeff Gates as the out is out of field for computer science for the 2526

school year. All in favor say I. I. >> All opposed passes. >> Guess you got to keep working, Mr. Gates. >> Okay, now we move on to policy 3241. 3241P 3241F F2. This is the fourth reading on this one. I don't know if I have this. Does everybody have this one? from four months ago. >> Okay. How how are we feeling about >> I was kind of waiting for >> Well, we didn't really get much information as what's happening the last time. >> Was still needing to go through some of them, right? Is that all I remember? >> Yeah. Maybe Doug has >> little bit information policy 3241 32 41P all those [Music] >> so 6B No, no, these are older than that >> discipline procedure and >> I was trying to find >> I

think that's what it was. It's just the where we had to go with the student discipline. >> Oh yeah, >> the parent that one is it that one we contacted and then the order of >> Yep, >> that makes sense. There's a 3000 series of speed. So I can't find >> most of it just has to do with the order of who you contact first. There's >> nothing really alarming in that one. We think we can >> if that was the only thing because I do remember >> Yeah. >> It was a lot of it was just related to kids that like they had a sexual offense against them and reporting or firearms, drug use. A lot of that was I don't know if it was added to the policy. I that was in the

last policy but I know that that was in this policy which we don't have a lot of that was just more procedure is if you have students >> okay so we have an option of either passing it or tableing it till the next meeting or I'm open for suggestions or a motion from the board office >> I'm okay going forward with approving those if I remember correctly. >> I think I'm fine with that one too. >> Yes. I think the only reason that we were waiting was because we hadn't gone all the way through it and we had found out what the new changes were. >> Yeah. It's what we were >> that's what we were waiting for. >> I think you want them to be correct. >> Okay. Okay. >> Okay. Does somebody want

to make a motion on those? >> Um, I move we approve policy 324141 F 3241 F2. >> Second. It's been moved and second to approve policy 3241 3241P 3241F 3241 F2. All in favor say I. >> I. All oppose. It passes to approve. Okay. C policy 2410P. Anybody know anything about that? That's >> high school graduation. Yeah. No, because I remember Traces saying she just hadn't had time to really go through and and check the >> That was 20 20 and 20 were the ones that were >> 2020 2020 and 2020 20 are what was supposed to be checking off >> and also I think particular >> Oh, really? >> So you think C and D are part of that as well? >> Okay. >> It's just something 2110 is high school. >> I'm okay

with table. >> Okay. So, we're going to table C and D and E. >> Is that what we're going to do till the next meeting? >> Okay, >> that's correct. >> Yes. >> I would entertain a motion to do that. I can't do that. >> I move that we table agenda item C. >> Is there a second? >> Second. move to second to table consent agenda CD and E until the next meeting. All in favor say I. >> I. >> Opposed passes this table until the next meeting. >> Okay. >> Now, so policy So 6F policy 3242 that that came in our packet this time. That's the first reading. I personally didn't see anything wrong with it. >> The old the old policy just says students are remain on campus once the day starts unless

given permission to go home. That's all it says. And what Teresa wanted to do was to be able to allow 11th and 12th graders to only >> check out freshman sophomores have to call excuse. >> And so she wanted to have >> well actually that very first sentence is the only thing that policy. All students are required to remain on school programs at the time of arrival until the time until the end of the school day unless they are officially excused. And so she wants to be able to add second paragraph, >> which is a one time parent student form they sign, which would save Tammy a lot of time because she gets all these calls right before lunch from parents because every single day they have to give permission to the kids to clean

campus. I know that they have to drive in their own cars. That's not stated like that, but Is that something we need to add in there? I mean, they can't ride together. I think that's the rule now. I I didn't know if you put this in the policy that they can do campus. Can they ride together or is it separate caric? >> No, that's what I'm saying. >> Yeah, you can add it if you want to. I I just think it's I think it's a rule now. Tammy won't let him go unless they're all driving separate cars. >> I don't know how that would work. We need to get a parent that he can ride with. >> I don't know. >> So, athletics, we don't let them um just because they're more likely to make

a stupid decision with somebody else in the car. It would be hard. I think if you had it would be good just in case something happened. Be really hard to police probably, right? Unless something did happen, but you'd have it on the books. >> And do you want you want to uh have that next meeting or this meeting? You want to pass it now or later? What do you want? [Music] >> Okay. So, let's the policy and add what Danielle wants added. Danielle, you need to state that amendment. All right. >> Somehow. >> Okay. Um All right. I will approve policy 3242 with amendment of the junior what is it? The grade school 11th and 12th with parent guardian permission slip but they need to drive separate in their own personal cars. No passengers. >>

Sorry, I had to like think that in my mind. >> Okay, so so now Danielle, here's here's the deal. Let's say that Terry and I are going to school. >> Yeah. >> And I want to borrow Terry's car to go downtown. >> He's not in his car, but he says, "Go ahead, h take my car." >> No. >> Is that illegal? >> No. I I would say no. Yeah. >> Okay. I'm just trying to get >> No, I'm saying you could bring your own car. >> Okay. >> You go to lunch by yourself in your own vehicles. >> I mean, they're all going to the same place, right? We know that they're going to the same place. >> Yeah, we do. >> Yeah. But as And I'm okay if my kid goes with somebody if

they have my permission. Like, but I'm going to have to call the school, right, and say, "Yeah, my kid can go to lunch with this person." But if we don't have that, I don't want three kids to jump in the car with a junior, >> right? >> And all the junior boys go. >> That's fine. I'm just trying to get clarification. >> Okay. I I >> That's all I'm saying. I' I'd rather everybody just do their own. >> So So do you want to add in there than that students that want to write another student have to get parent permission? That's what I would to write a one time thing or >> I would say like one time if you always know that like Jake and Bo like the two boys like always go together

maybe that's maybe we add a section onto the slip that says that this is the I don't know that probably gets a little confusing >> and keep it um just 11 and 12. >> I like the 11th and 12th. >> I don't know. I'm just trying to cover ourselves. >> That's I'm fine with it. I just want to make sure we And we're going to call it a friendly amendment. So we don't have to vote on the amendment and the policy both. We're going to vote on this one tonight. >> Everybody's okay with that. We call it a friendly amendment. >> So Tanya, do you have your the change written down? So >> I I am right now writing it down and probably specify for lunch only. So right >> that's what is wanting. Is

that what she's wanting? >> I think so. Lots of questions. I mean, I I remember before, you know, jumped in the ring. >> Sure did. >> Well, that's what I'm trying to think of like how >> we You know what? We all went to the cafe. >> I agree. I did this, too. I did this, too. I did this, too. >> At all times, be notified if decisions made >> may be permanent to leave during the >> It says launch period. >> Yep. the prior approval from the high school principal that signed parenting. >> But I mean, after school, you're on your own. I mean, if you got to wait before a game, I mean, we all jump the cards. >> Schools out >> and school's out. >> She wrote lunchtime and >> Yeah. Know

I talked to her about it. She wants this just for lunch. >> Okay. Do you have it? You think? >> I think so. Yeah. >> Okay. So, so one of these board members is going to have to read the new policy where we're adding so we can pass this policy. >> I just can't go I just can't go. Uh we're passing policy 3242. I can say as amended if we can pull it off and then we can vote on it if you want to. Is that how you want to do it? >> Yep. >> Okay. >> All right. I would entertain a motion to approve policy 3242 as amended. >> I will make a motion to approve policy 3242 closed campus as with amendment >> as proven. >> Is there a second? >> Second. >>

It's been moved and second to approve policy 3242 closed campus with the amendment. All in favor say I. >> All opposed. It passes as amended. Okay. Policy 40 5406T and 5406P. Do we know anything about that? >> Yeah. Sharing. >> Oh yeah. >> It just came up because we thought we were going to didn't come up doesn't happen very often where people >> and so it didn't come up this fall but it could be a possibility that But we didn't know for sure. Anyway, when I pulled up the policy, I realized and so wanted to cut it out. But I'm going to ask if you could wait on this one because Tanya and I need to talk. There's there's some things that we just want to make sure that we're okay with like the number

of you look on number six on the the procedure part. 54 or 06P number six that extends out see employees might receive a total of more than 522 days that's three times now. >> Okay. >> Deal with that later. uh policy 1630 >> um that's evaluation of the superintendent it states the eight different areas that you have to have a system just you have to this is considered critical >> I I did read this one because that was my wheelhouse those two and basically you guys are already evaluating. I pulled out the evaluation sheet that you currently use and all of these things that are that I could tell were added from the last one which are these >> um or you're already evaluating off sheet. So the only difference was right here where it

says superintendent and their performance the board on the base of evaluation may terminate was added before that was left out. Everything else We talked about >> we have >> never done it. >> But anyway, this is critical and my understanding is the main thing. >> I think we can do >> Oh, do you? >> So, so are we going to do hi and together? >> I don't. >> Okay. I mean the policies we got for this first reading I like >> I have a letter that Teresa wrote everybody [Music] and this is the first part of this to her saying that she >> is everybody okay with the next three Hi and J. Yes. >> Hi, and J. >> Oh, yeah. >> Everybody's good. >> I move we approve consent agenda items H and J

as presented. >> Second. >> Move a second to approve consent agenda H, I, and J as presented. All in favor say I. I. All opposed. passes. >> Okay, we're down at the capital letter. >> Okay, in your packet you put together the first page is a letter from Cindy. The next pages are colors for the connection. Go past that and then go to go to the next page which says scope and grant and grant. Okay. So I got this at at 2:30. Um this kind of this outline it goes through everything with the urgent repair grant and also the capital. I'll just try to Um the urgent repair is is what we're going for to try to fix the cracks and I have some pictures to share with you that for that part on the

second page of this refers to capital. Okay. The capital funding out next year. So if we want to continue to not have a break funding we need to run a capital next year. The first opportunity is February 10th. You can do it February 10th, which the voters are used to voting is not that February. You can also do it April and then you can do it in August. The advantage to doing it early is if you don't pass it by if you wait till August and you don't pass it start over basically. And so what we need to decide tonight and I'll let Sarah kind of talk about you would have to come up with a with a resolution with a basic plan. You know, in the past when they broke the resolution and the

basic plan, they tried to include other areas that we didn't really specifically do it. Our our levies have been $1.1 million for the last two or three months. So you need to decide if you want to keep if you want to run a levy in February, if you want to keep the amount the same because we it has to go on it has to be on the ballot by December 12th which means that we would have to approve otherwise we have to have a special meeting before. So a plan would be If the court could share what they would like, what they would like to capital amount would be then I could that makes sense. And we may there there isn't I can't give you a percentage but there is a decent chance that we're

not going to be able to fix for $600,000 is possible. So if that were the case then we're construct >> yeah is is the urgent repair grant we apply for this or is this this is not the >> okay it's not that it's >> that was that planning grant and it's already spent. They haven't built this yet, but it's going to Apollo for their the planning they did >> on the big project, >> but they thought that we yeah could get more, but this is a completely separate. >> Yeah, this is a we get up to 600,000 and again, Apollo is going to help with this grant. They've already written it two or three and they've gotten the funds already. >> So, kind of want to schools. That's how they write the grant. in three

weeks is November 7th and November 12th. >> It's coming up really fast. >> There are three things going on. >> The other one is the urgent repair. That's the one that help. And then the other one is they have smallization that were That's right. >> That's what I'm thinking. I remember >> three different ones. They're all different. >> Okay. All different. But I'm saying we don't know exactly how much money we're going to get from this or different grant. >> No, we don't. We're going to apply for 600,000. >> Okay. >> 600. That's what they don't know. They don't know for sure. >> Yes. the way they write up. It's due on the 12th. And if you look at I guess we just go there. But on this first page here, it goes through it

describes how Apollo and CPA, which Greg's company, are going to work together on the project. Greg is going to he's working on the logistics scope and the cost Hunter is going to work on the sense. >> Yes. >> I have some pictures to show you too. If you look at it, there's there's two parts to the repair that we may not be able to find. One is fixing the cracks. cracks and grates certainly that all the cracks are caused by moisture here to verify that the other part of it is to prevent and that's going to be what he's trying to do is he's hopefully within a week but said we don't have enough. Hunter is since we have agree with Apolloessa. So the attendance We did not have to go through that process >>

and he wants to get it done within two weeks. So if we submit it, it gives us a little bit of wiggle room time that we have to make revisions that we can get our answer and turn around and make some revisions real fast. >> Do we have to do something before that or anything? Will we have to before November 12th or whatever the date is? he and Greg are working on it and when they get their part done then they will either zoom with January and I and we'll get an EGMS and they'll just kind of walk us through where to put everything and what to say however we do it. >> Okay. So as far as the capital is concerned with >> well we have to put fix you know since we have

no idea what it's going to cost we would have to put fixing the school also we have to include this on >> you would have to be this detailed or just cracked >> fixed damage fixed damage structal school. >> Yeah. Okay. >> I don't know how >> because that could be a lot of things >> and so and correct me if I'm wrong because I didn't want to walk down with you on the cracks. >> The roof needs to be fixed first. >> I mean, that's where the cracks are becoming worse is from the roof. So, we're going to if we get the $600,000, the roofs are going to be fixed first because the cracks once the water quits running down there, they should not get worse at least for a one year. So, >>

we just have to at the same time >> or we have to do the roof first for sure and then we can do the other if we want to. But I'm just saying that we got to fix the road. >> Okay. This is They ask to send me pictures for the water damage. This first picture is right outside Mr. K's room and you can see where the water's run down inside and outside. I'll just go through all the pictures if you have questions. This is a picture of the back side of the belly which is probably the worst side for water damage. There's cracks all around it. This the second picture is a picture that he took when Randy and I were up on the road right after it rained. And you can see the

problem is this this part right here is the wall. That's the brick. For some reason, they stopped the roof at the edge of the brick. For some reason, I have no idea why. And so, you can see that there's puddles of water there. And so what the water does is it seeps down after weathering it seeps down between where the roof ends and the brick outside wall >> so then the next page is another picture. I think it's a different part of the the wall but you can see the same thing. You can see that the water this is the wall. This is the roof the metal roof. A few years ago, we replaced all of the screws in the roofing, but we didn't replace the roofing. We just took out all the screws and

the new screws in the whole thing. And so, you can see where it's black and molding and that kind of thing. Water's seated down inside of it. So, um, and then the next two pages are are Greg sent me these. these are images that came on his thermal thermal tool that he uses. And what this what this thermal does is it shows it where there where the concentration of concrete is the thickest and it also shows you where heat is coming out of the inside which is not good. And that's because the bricks are hollow. And so in the places where there's no support >> not filled concrete >> that some of them are filled with concrete. >> This is um this is the elementary one that looks like this. I hope it all right.

The elementary one you can see just has red lines going vertical and they turn into white. Those red lines are are for the walls are reinforced and they pour the concrete down. Okay. It starts out red, then it turns to white, but it it's I think like every eight feet, every eight feet around the building. This is the elementary. This is where there's rebar and concrete like like where there's red stripes and then the white down here that indicates either concrete is both concrete and and the last page. This is this is outside Jeff's room for that back side. This is the secondary building and you can see that it has reinforcement going both vertical and horizontal. The elementary just has just has reinforcement going up it and and you can see here that these

are reinforcements and these are here where the water damage is coming from is is like anywhere where it's yellow where you have heat coming out and the way you explain it to Randy and I when you guys already know this when the water goes inside the wall and then you have chang where it's warmer inside than it's outside that's when the cracks the moisture being the wall, the temperature inside. So when they repair, what they're going to have to do is everywhere where there's there's cracks in according to Greg and Apollo, all of us here at that looked like our foundation. They could see no evidence of foundation. There's no structural issues other than just what's happened to the wall and then the car's right you can fill in but if we don't fix this

but he told me today what he was going to do was he's going to come up with kind of a ballard idea drawing things we can do is just add to things we can do only other choices quite a bit. He thinks that if we were to extend it, so it was like a normal roof over time over the wall, you know, go down and he's recommending um the elementary just >> so but Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't Won't they have to take these screws out and try and lift this panel and slide that underneath? >> I'm assuming >> and and find the same type of metal so that it fits. And I don't I don't know if we can still buy this or not. I have no idea. >>

Greg was trying to do research on >> because it's got to go underneath it. It can't go over the top of it. And it needs to. And it it might need cutters, too, you guys. I mean, I don't know. It might it might it might. >> But we got to fix this before we worry about the cracks. For sure. For sure. We got to stop the water from inside, right? >> Yes. >> Outline. Yeah. This outline is explains the corrections in spaces to include repair areas of extension mason replace the rebar replace area extension basement. He told me that there's only one wall that is wall going But everything else is so and then see correction moisture causing most correction moisture related water from the some of that's from our irrigation sprinklers that are in

the building that And then on the two that last thing in the first base. So that's what the urgent repair would be. They're both $600,000. So that's where the capital problem is. There's so much up there right now. If we don't get the other grant, the $6 million grant, are we going to have to use the bulk of our the next capital for our heating system to keep things running? I mean, if that's not a play area, does that capital levy all of a sudden go to fixing our our building problems and fixing heating issues? Well, if if we don't get the $6 million though, what Seth and I saw at the beginning of the week, we're we're going to need to ask for $6 million because there's >> some of these ticket items are

half million. I mean, just one thing is a half million. I mean, lighting alone, it's $418,000 >> for in here. Yes. So new ceiling and lighting or just light >> both. >> But I mean >> Oh yeah. >> Two different animals. Uh I don't want to see if we have to replace uh fan coils instead. Okay. Well, now we have to replace more fan coils. You know what I mean? >> And we might have to, >> right? It might shift. >> It might. Um yeah, if I I think the urgent repair grant we will get I I'm pretty confident about that. I'm not confident about the six million. >> Yeah, but the six million we didn't get any money, right? Like we were on this. So didn't we get bumped up? >> We moved up,

but we're still >> we're still way up. Well, I mean I >> I'm just saying you don't think we're going to not get it after I mean we've been bumped the last two years off that list. >> Now we're like >> funed like 40,000. So we did 60. >> I know I'm If they can't fund at least 23 schools, that's going to be pretty bad. >> It'll probably be 22. Yeah, >> keep in mind that the state's about 17 billion in the whole >> I know that. >> So keep that in mind also that you're talking about here. We've had revenue surpluses up until this bianium. So >> we not do both. >> Oh, we're doing both. >> Okay. Or all three? I mean, >> we're doing all three. Sure. We're doing all three. >>

We're doing all three, right? We're just looking ahead at what is >> okay >> I mean if if you guys are we're trying to fund with the capital levy the 1,100,000 doesn't even touch >> one thing it's it's mercy keep the wheels on >> that's all it is >> we're being told by told If we get start >> Yes. Yes. That would be bad. >> But since we applied >> Yes. So today we have to make we need an action on something. >> We are just trying to decide specifics. >> Well, we need to know and I don't know if we need to know today, but we need we'll have to come up with an amount. >> And we'll have to come up with a description. >> Yeah. what we're going to >> and building

with. >> Yes, we've been talking about just redoing the same amount. >> Yes, we have. >> Is that still what everybody's thinking what we've been right >> that's most we can do right you could have a $10 million capital levy if you want. >> I know with the EPO levy um when we talked to them they were really pushing us when we did the capital le four years not just the three years but four years payout. You mean for the capital le? >> Yeah. To go higher in four years. >> Oh, >> like extend make it a million and a half >> and go four years. >> Yeah. But that was when we were working on the EP. I mean, we were talking about both. So that was that was one of those >> Yeah.

I'm not talking about the healing, but we were talking to we were on the phone talking to the new guy. Who was the old one? We had the brutal resolution. >> Jim McNeel, he retired. And then we were talking to the new guy and he's a little bit seems a little bit more, hey, you guys can run this for longer long amount of time and more money. But I think that's I don't know. Catch 22. It's a lot. It's a lot on the community. I don't think another another year doesn't bother me just because we've been going continuously anyway. >> But more money obviously that's going to increase every >> they're going to see that that increase >> but it's and we have two communityies running right now both for the ambulance for the department.

So, I mean, between October, we run this in February. I mean, there's a few months in between. Maybe it won't hit so hard on everybody in February. I don't know. >> February. >> I think I think we're set on that. >> Yeah. >> February. Sure. I mean this is just >> what >> our current >> one one6 >> if we don't get the regurgent repair grants or the $6 million grants our capital levying money is going to go to this roof guaranteed. I mean, there's no question the roof. Maybe not the brick to start, but the roof because we've got to get that stopped. >> Then we got to ask if we don't get either one of those, we can't run them. We need to do more than >> Well, I think we can fix

our roof for 1.1 million. >> Yes. >> Uh but I So, that's what I think. We won't get any one of those grants. We need to know the amount tonight. We're obviously running it >> unless you're going to have a special meeting. is the resolution we have on tablet by December 12th and our meeting I think is on the 15th. >> We have a meeting in November also. >> What was that? >> We have another board meeting in November. >> Oh, November. Yeah. Sorry. >> Worst case scenario. >> Yeah. >> Oh, okay. I've been I guess and this is just me so I'm not even supposed to be talking but I want I want a number for just the repair of the roof. Don't break just the repair of the roof. I want a I

want a number for the ceiling in the gymnasium and lighting. And I want a number for the entrance to the gym that we did two years ago. >> Is that the roof? You're saying? >> Nope. Enclosed the entrance to the gymnasium. >> Oh, okay. >> Cuz we did repair, remember? They repaired that roof there. >> But but our wood's coming down inside again now. >> Okay. I'm just trying to figure out what it was. >> And I don't know what else. >> We tried to do the other. >> Okay. Yes. >> It's part of part part of the >> Yes, I think you told me. Okay. >> So, those are those are my three things. I don't know if anybody else wants a number for something else. >> I mean, okay. So, >> yeah, give

us a number if you did the bricks, right? Just the roof, but then >> we need to know what that's >> separately. Yes. >> Separately. Yep. >> And if we're doing if we're doing the roof, we're going to fix all the other trim and stuff up there. That's looking horrible. You know, >> I hope so. >> I mean, that's a better It is. >> I agree. >> Rick Anderson. >> We got to do it out here. >> Yeah, we do. >> I agree. would be. >> Okay. So, anybody else have anything else for >> What did you say it was? No, sorry, not on that. But what did you say that it was right now? Every year we're getting running the 1.1 >> 3 366. >> Okay. So then if we did 1.5 over four

years, it's 375. So is that is that the rocker? think that that would be I mean if you look at it that way >> I I think we got to stay if we go to a million and a half I still think we do three because we what happens was we wait until we collect all of our money so by the time four years is gone that extra $400,000 a lot of times is just gone because of additives because of right So, it really doesn't help. It doesn't benefit us as much as you think it would. >> Okay. >> Uh, that's what I'm concerned about. That's what I'm concerned about. Now, I'm just one guy, so everybody needs to >> No, I don't really know how that works. So, that's good to know. >> Well,

we always try not to borrow, >> right? Just do it with cash. And unfortunately, that means we have to wait. >> Gotcha. >> So, the added but you know, added a year, added money, that >> that's going to help. Yeah, >> you know, >> I'm just trying to put myself in the community's place with you. >> Yeah, I agree. >> I think before I can make or give a suggestion on what I would do because I need to know what some of these numbers are going to find out. >> Gotcha. >> So that we sit down and have that conversation. If it's if it's $2 million to do all this stuff, >> we might put ourselves out on the game plank and go for it. >> Yes. If it's $5 million, then we're going to

have to have another conversation. I >> That's just me. >> Until we know the numbers, it's really hard >> to decide what we're going to do >> because we only want to do what we have to do. >> Right. >> Correct. >> Got it. >> But to answer Doug, we're going to run we're going to go for all three and we're going to run another capital at the end. We're going to run it in February. >> That's what I believe this board is deciding. Is that right, everybody? Absolutely. >> Okay. So, there's your answer about that. >> Yes. >> We Sorry. We need a motion or we don't need a motion. >> Okay. Got it. >> Just give me direction. >> Okay. >> So, does anybody else have any questions about capital levy or the

urgent repair grant or the $6 million grant? >> Okay. Okay. >> When when is the earliest we might possibly know about >> it's a short session. >> It would be after the session. >> Yeah. >> Hunter told us March. >> Yeah, he did. >> He said March. >> Is that which one? >> $6 million one. >> And then the urgent repair grant. We should probably find out before then. Yeah, we would know. Okay, that's >> we should know before our next meeting, shouldn't we? >> Yeah, we should about the urgent repair. That'll help. >> That'll help. >> That would help. >> No more other questions. >> Okay, communications to the board. Uh, capital levy. Did we cover that or do you want do you have more to talk about there? >> Okay. Okay. The safety

in your package. Very next page after the very next page in your package. This is this is safety report. We had a very first safety meeting on our public. [Music] Every year ESG and the state send us out the things that we need to know and the drills we have to do but for some reason they forgot but didn't send out so when I called in as for all we have to do and so it depend on depend on those and start scheding area the evacuation site I'm supposed contact Methodist Church again. They they let us use their site every year. Uh campus mapping. Um the county would like to have something electronically for every school that maps out their entire campus so that when they when they show up, they can look at it.

It'll say like building A, building, building, and we're posting a number every door inside so that it matches the door. I also So that's one of my projects this week. Tony and I already talked about ordering numbers. So when the police show up, if they have an electronic copy of our building, okay, this building so is hiring a professional to do that. of all of the other superintendent right now that still and we don't have to do that. So we're going to cut a number right now. So our playlist anyway and Doug we talked about when we were up here going through with Randy the fire department he was going to put some stuff on there to help us also you know where the water hookups are where the you know main power centers are

and all that kind of stuff. Randy was coming up. Let's make sure we talk to Randy about that. >> And then the number five, the E3 system. That's our system. We're having a little bit of trouble with it right now for some reason getting it connected to. >> Oh yes. Yeah. [Music] technology. >> Just getting stuff for Doug and Teresa on Heagen Grant stuff to do some additional Prometheian boards. Finish up some stuff in the gym, sound system, and just some other little things around. across sports >> volleyball junior high finished up tonight beat Kolfax younger kids which was good so they had a pretty good end of their season which was good for them a lot of improvement over the course of the year uh kids for high school volleyball we've got game in

Roselia this week and then the alumni game next week and then they'll be done and then junior high basketball we can start practice this week don't have a coach yet but all this fell in till we get somebody um going and And well, looks like we'll have enough, which is good. I was a little worried, but I think we'll have six. We got six kids that want to play, and they're very excited about it. So, we'll uh make it work with six and see how it goes from there. Plenty of girls for junior high uh basketball come January. Won't have enough for a high school girls team. We really only have one who is really interested on the high school girl side. And then boys, hard to get a read. We're sitting right at five,

maybe six if everybody agrees to do it. But I've got one or two that depending on the day tell me what they want to do. So I've had some schools reach out about some games. I just don't want to put us on a schedule and then say, "Oh, sorry. We don't have enough kids." So that's kind of been the real tough part for me is just getting that figured out with everybody. >> Independent schedule you were talking about. >> Yeah. So we would junior high we're good. It's really easy to put us into the league, but high school I didn't put us on the league schedule because I didn't know. And so, yeah, we we'd go independent, which I think turned some kids off of if we're playing, you know, if we were to play

like LRS, JV is kind of a C squad team or KFax or anybody else where we just kind of went around and played when we could and where we could because then too, if you have a kid leave and say, "Well, we're going on a ski trip or we're going to take this decide to get away." because we've had that before with families where it's, oh, we decided to take off this weekend and it's like, well, we can't really have anybody take off because might not have a team, which makes it harder to make it work, which is kind of been my frustration and problem. So >> do you think people mean understand we're in a different it's a different program now that so that you know I mean as a parent you know I

mean I can see well we've got to go visit Antrudy because we have to whatever but now knowing that no nobody know if we're going to do this nobody can leave can that be communicated you think everybody can get on board with that >> I think they kind of understand like the kids understand and I think too they're worried that well if there's only five of us and if we are we're only playing for like C squad and it's not going to be this like competitive thing at the end of the year like it turned one or two of them off a little bit. I don't know how to overcome that like with where we are in a situation. I think they understand that if they don't play they don't go but I don't know

too how passionate they are to do it you know like it's the driving force for them to play if that makes sense. Is there any other opportunities to play other than like somebody's squad or whatever? Is there any, you know, not not a traditional alternative? Is there something else we can put together where they can play and have games more competitive? Not league obviously, but you know what I mean? >> Yeah. Is there >> I mean, if I mean, if we're willing to travel, there's opportunities. We're here or there that a team can't get a fill. you know, they have an open spot on a night because somebody couldn't make it work and they're looking for a game. I mean, you know, we went to Thorp for volleyball for the heck of it, which was

a fun night for the kids, but it's like trying to make that work is tough because you're trying to find the right level. You know, you don't want to put us up against a random team that was going to be a body bag game for us because then it's just as bad, which we had to do that a few times. I I think it hurts more than it does because then the kids are like, "Well, why are we doing this? We're going to get killed." And so it's trying to balance that is the tough one. So I don't have a good answer. >> It's definitely think outside the box, you know, and I just don't know what our kids are expecting. you know, is enough for them to have a good program where they're learning

learning skills and having some fun and they get to play some games. Is that is that okay or does it have to be you know what I mean? I just don't know what they're expecting. >> Right. And that's and that's kind of what we told them and I there's kind of a mixed response from them with that >> is it just you know I don't know what our other opportunities are. get somebody really wants. They really want to play basketball. I'm here in Kax, you know, sounds like we're totally different totally different levels for basketball. So, none of our kids probably unless they're on a secret. >> No, I'm just saying, you know, if that's even an option. >> Yeah. >> So, it would be really nice if we could figure out something here. >>

Even if Yeah, I guess I don't they probably don't want to practice. They're not gonna play games. I'm just saying I don't want to take a year off because then if next year we do have the opportunity didn't play all year, right? >> I I just feel like that's going to be a disadvantage for us or that's we're going to just keep losing them. >> Like how they kept the after school stuff going for elementary kids programs. >> Yeah. >> I don't know. I don't know. They're Well, they got a box. >> Just tell them we'll play five alumni basketball games. Yeah, >> it'd be fun. They stay here. They wouldn't have to leave. >> They can practice with the young ones, too. Just >> they might be all for that alumni. You know what

I mean? That >> Yeah, it's I said depending on the day, like I thought one of them and then one of them's like, "Well, I don't know if I want to play now." And then it's like, which was what my concern was because if you're trying to commit to something and you build it and then a kid decides not to and then we had a near injury with a kid in a football game. So right there now you're down to four and really we only have five that really were interested and one of those was there and then maybe they could drag the sixth along. And then numbers wise I mean we only have one eighth grader that's interested in playing right now. So we're in the exact same boat again. We're actually in a

worst potential boat because we're potentially two seniors. So you'd be replacing two with one and you're back to five and then you'd have to have everybody. And so, like I said, we might have six for junior high. And that would be kind of the, you know, traditionally you always lose kids from junior high to high school just as a natural thing that occurs as the kids don't want to play it or they find it there. So, that would be the hard thing is getting those couple kids because we just don't have boys. We have girls, we don't have boys at the moment. And we don't really have a lot of boys coming up either. So, that's we're just kind of in a tough spot. Okay. Why? We have a lot of girls. Why aren't they

playing basketball? >> It's a I mean, you know, it's a different sport compared to the other. >> It is >> sports and I think that's one of the factors that goes into it. I mean, it was when I was coaching. I mean, you know, Jen's getting 24 girls out and I'm barely pulling teeth to get eight and nine. And it's I don't know if it's confidence or anything else where, you know, I get responses from some kids and I try to get them to play asking them why aren't you playing? Well, I'm not good. And it's like, I watched you play like you're you were good. You're a good athlete. I've seen you play volleyball. You're a good athlete. And it's like, oh no, I done it. So I don't know if it's a combination

of what the game is and then worried about losing or you know just the whole thing and I mean in basketball is a long season that kind of drags and I think that >> factors in and I just don't know but when you look at numbers team schools have done well with volleyball and we're seeing schools then not be able to field basketball teams and it's not just us it's >> everywhere. So I don't know how to overcome that if it's basketball's just become more competitive and more club centric and so you get the halves and the have knots and that drives the have knots away because you end up with blood bath games every so often. So, you get discouraged because you're losing by 50 every night and you're not enjoying it and you're

putting in all the time. And I just don't think there's one good answer because I I honestly couldn't answer it when I was coaching to figure it out to get them to turn out. >> Don't bring that. Um, so, so yes, Jeff, the 20 game season is horrendous. No question about it. >> But since we're setting our own schedule, let's talk to these girls about, hey, we're going to play 10 games. >> Yep. >> You know, let's see if we can shorten up this season, keep them still involved some some how somehow >> and not make it last for three months. You see what I'm saying? And I and I might be asking a lot of my AD to do that, but if it's a shortened season and we play some teams that we can

beat or think we can, then that builds confidence for next year. And so I I'm not opposed to shortening the season >> and try and talk them into, hey, no, 20, we're not playing 20 games. We'll play 10 games. We know you're getting burned out and see if they'll come and play. I I think it's something we got to talk about. I I really do. I Yeah, it's a drag. 20 games if you're not good, it's not it's not a lot of fun. >> Yeah, >> I agree with you. It's not a lot of fun. >> And I will say like the younger group like the junior high like they're excited like they want to play. I think what they did last year with the starting excited to play >> the problem like even with

the high school. >> So right now in the high school you've had two kids that played in junior high like to even go all the way back with all of our so like trying to get them back in >> Yeah. >> is like tough. I mean one that would play medically doesn't want to risk injury because of what they've had happen. And so trying to get them and the one that played last one of them that played last year isn't super excited to play wasn't I mean they really had to pull them along to get them to play >> Yeah. >> last year. And so that's going to be the hard part is just convincing them to do it. And that's the where it's like like I've said like I see them play volleyball. It's

like you're good enough athletes. But >> a reapproach and we get them excited. be worth it. >> And the volleyball games that we've had, they've been competitive. So, that does help a lot. >> Yes. >> I mean, I I've got a couple girls that come to church out at our church and they're ecstatic about the volleyball. They can't wait to tell me about what happened during the week. So, that makes me feel really good. So, if we could, and I hate to say it, but if we could have a less competitive basketball season and shorten it, maybe we could talk some of these girls into saying, "Hey, remember how you did in volleyball? Why don't you give it a try in basketball?" I mean, just because. And maybe they won't might not do it. I

don't know. I just think it's worth if we have a year where we don't do anything. But also keeps them like I know might not be like what everyone's looking at but like in shape like I was a soccer player and I always played basketball to stay in shape in the offse and skill endurance and all that >> but it does help them to stay moving throughout the year and >> it does on track too. >> Yeah everything >> I mean yeah 20 games is great I agree. Especially when you're getting beat every night it's no fun. It's not fun at all. It's not even fun for the coach. >> I think that's a good idea. >> But just if we shortened it, we're setting our own schedule. Find some games where they could maybe

win or at least be close. >> Yeah, >> I think that would be a great thing. I really do. I really think that's what we need to try. So anyway, >> let's think we've got we're in an interesting spot right now, but it also gives us a lot of opportunity to do things that no other schools can do, >> right? >> So yeah, >> maybe there's something we can we can do it. >> Yeah. >> I mean, yeah. >> And and maybe it's different now than in my time. My time is 51 years ago. Long time ago. He said in the 1800s, which is close, but and I don't know how many boys that there is possibly to put a uniform on. I don't know that. But in my day, if there wasn't enough kids

to play, we we went around and said, "Hey, Johnny, you're playing so that we have a team. You might not want to play, but you're going to play." >> Yeah. >> Because And then because in the track season, I didn't want to run a track, but guess what? I did because they wanted to have a track team. I didn't like it, but I did it. >> Right. >> So, it's it's it's they have to learn. That's part of life. They need to learn that. >> And the leaders of this school need to push that some because of what we've done here, >> right? >> To do away with St. John of India, they need to they need to say, "Hey, it's time to play, >> right? >> We're going to play." >> Yeah. That that

needs to be said by the leaders of this school. It really does. Happened in my time. I don't think it's that's changed too much. >> And hopefully the the volleyball it's really given some momentum because it really has been a good thing to watch and see. >> They've been g they can't wait to get to my pew to tell me what's going on in volleyball. I mean they >> middle school and high school. I mean, they're just I mean, it's Ashley's daughter that hit her had she hit a ball over with her head and got a point. I mean, she couldn't she just couldn't wait to tell me that story. I mean, just couldn't wait. I mean, so I was ecstatic about it. I mean, so it's kind of >> it was cool, I guess,

is what I'm saying. >> To to have some excitement for a change. >> Yeah. >> Instead of drudgery, you know, where they come, oh, I had volleyball. I mean, that's what I heard prior, >> but not this year. So, I've been happy about it. So, that's all I got. I just get off the soap box. >> He's cave. >> All he wants Americans. >> That's all we Okay. Uh, legislative policy. I don't have anything. This is the new one I have. So bottom line is substantial completion is supposed to be around as >> yeah you didn't have the completion date yet. That's right. Last time I asked you. >> So this has the graph tells you what they're supposed to be working on certain times all the way up. They did the electrical inspection in

the past. So now they can start. Gota also to be aware of I don't have anything [Music] here too. Is that what I see? >> Yeah. Okay. Last page is report. >> I just went over some school safety with you earlier. I'm not sure what the plan is. like the curriculum instruction that's one of your goals this year managing resources She appes that we're going out right now. Cody's taking some kids to LCS four or five year kids. I was talking about how the school worked with lacrosse parks for their first ever football program. highlight finance really about $50,000 left on the project. So, we've already paid for half of it after running in Cooper for October, which is good because I think it kind of gives us an idea what's going to be left

in the capital that can go towards the cracks or the roof or whatever. And after we get our um levy money in October, there should be two 250,000 to 300 in there that we should be able to spend on other capital projects. Everything else is I'm finishing up the year end financial IDed it on Friday to EFC. We're still waiting for that to come back, but we're pretty much what I said last month. We're ending where you guys saw we were last year. So, or last month, it's about 470 for the general ending year. So, yeah, it's just that kind of in between month. We're ending last year, beginning of this year as far as all of my financial stuff goes. October is usually kind of crazy, but it's been okay this year. [Music] >>

Yes. On the back side, 515,000, but this is September and end of September. So, you have to take um the capital project bills off for this month to get our actual >> and then another 50,000 that will go for the quarter project, but we also don't have our levy revenue on here yet for October. So, that's where I think we'll end up about 300,000 overall. Oh, buses. So, we do they were delayed. They were supposed to be here. We have one now coming in November and then possibly another one in December. So weird. >> I don't know at what point. I've already, you know, I've talked to um a couple people over there. >> It kind of seems kind of weird to be nagging somebody for a bill. So I don't know where to go

from here. Just waiting. I have that in my mind that money set aside for that. So it's not, you know, I just want to be prepared for what does come. So >> yeah. >> So we could we could start this roof repair thing with our 300,000. some of these. I mean, because those that roof stuff should be done before winter for sure. >> Yeah, we're running out of time. >> Yeah, but I'm just saying we as soon as >> I we could I would assume so. Why couldn't we? >> I think we can. >> I I mean, we've used it before. It's not like it's just normal maintenance. It is a capital project. So >> I'm just saying >> I mean it kind of takes it from the maintenance into >> we got to stop

that water run down the floor. >> I don't care. We fix the grass not this year but the roofs I want to fix except for the ones you can see. >> I don't think there's I don't think we can see there's one >> is there is there? Yeah. >> Oh, >> so there's a layer of insulation on the outside because the greenhouse will be okay. >> Yeah. >> Yes. Now I'm second guessing that. What was I guess what was in our levy that we ran for capital? Did we have repairs for roof in our capital levy that we ran last time? >> Probably not. >> We need to look at that. So let's see if there's anything written in there. >> But I know that we could take funds. >> We can borrow funds and

then replace that funds comes in >> with interest. But >> well, it's just interest to ourselves. >> So well because it it could cost us much more money. >> Yeah. So we by next meeting. >> Okay. >> 300,000. >> See what we can do. >> Yes. >> Something like that. [Music] He actually asked me >> he said gives me a ballpark number I was just thinking we have a short time till the winter months are here. So >> well okay I know that we could borrow from capital levy for projects and then replace the money. >> Yes. Let me just let me pull out our >> Yes, that's the worst case scenario. That's the worst. Okay, that's I'm 90% sure >> if if we just can't use that money. >> Correct. So, I don't think

we had anything about roofing. I last told >> I thought we put something like we might have had something in the about the roof on for the gym. >> Flat roof, >> which we did. We did repair the flat roof. >> Could we be >> Can we have something with like building structure? I mean, could it I don't know. We could just >> It It sure seems like there's a way to >> I don't know. There's got to be a way to >> I mean, there's got to be a way. >> I think it does. It says that existing condition of school facilities and the institution of new instructional programs require district to continue to support modernization, renovation, and improvement school facilities. >> We're in business. We're business. I just I just want the water

equipment. >> And you put some in that. >> We can we can stuff some paper. >> Anything you want for now. >> All I care about. >> This is some really nice really nice silicone. It'll hold it all together. >> I got twine. We can do whatever we want to do. >> Absolutely. >> I'm going to tell you what, guys. What they're going to put in those brick cracks is going to be a silicone type situation. It's not You're not going to like the looks of it, >> but it's what it's going to be. I've seen it before. So, >> what do you think, Tanya? You going to let me spend the 300,000 on the roof? Yeah, I think there's enough in here that I mean and a lot of it just says for the

board. Sorry, I just read that for oh advisable by the board projects. This in this resolution to pay off of the project all this may be authorized by law and determined necessary and advisable by the board. >> Okay. Anything else on finance? >> No. >> I would entertain a motion to pay the bills. >> Okay. I move we approve September payroll and October October bills in the amount of $331,64.17. [Music] Second. >> Move. Second to pay the September payroll October bills in the amount of $331,64.17. All in favor say I. All opposed. Pay the bills, please. Okay. Executive session. How long executive session? >> I was guessing 30 minutes. >> I'll say 45. Okay. >> Uh going into executive session authorized under RCW42-30-110 for the purpose of evaluating application for public employment and reviewing performance

of public employee. No final action on these matter executive session.
