All right, let's kick off our workshop. So, this is our uh CMI uh the beginning of our process. >> Yeah. >> So, words of institution. >> Yeah. So, this is an annual process. Um Joe will discuss what it actually looks like in practice. It's something we present to the school board every year. Um we want to make sure that as we approach the next year's uh projects uh the school board's both aware and is uh in alignment with what our priorities are. >> Yeah. So thank you. Um I'm a little concerned I said earlier that uh you used us as example of how branding works with the buildings and grounds presentation. >> This is an example of what not to do. >> Exactly. That's and then we talked about the fire fire uh experience that

we had last week. So, a little under the gun tonight. So, >> appreciate. >> Yeah. Just want to introduce two people that are also here with me. I have Ann Andre that's right there. She's our safety coordinator and energy. And then we have our energy manager, Jeff Ellson, as well. And every time I do this, reminded that we also have 62 custodians. We have a crafts person. And we have numerous others that help us through this capital improvement process. Everyone from the business office to Patty to the superintendent. And so it's really a team effort as we go through this whole process. What I'm going to share with you is kind of the process that we have. So it isn't arbitrary. We do this every year. And I know this is kind of a review

for some of you, but we meet with the principles and engineers every fall. So we sit down, we go through the current capital improvement process, we evaluate current projects, we discuss any priorities that they may have, and then we identify those projects, and then we go through that whole process. And what you're seeing today is the end of that process. A lot of times we're working 18 months in advance. And so the projects that we're going to share with you tonight, some of them will happen this summer, but some won't happen until next summer or some may happen in the winter. It's all about timing of all the projects that we have going on. And then also where we think we can might get the best bids when we put them out. Where will we

get the best prices? And I'll share some of that with you as we go through here. Um, so decision-m criteria, we're always looking at safety and security first. You'll see some of that tonight as we talk about that regulatory compil compliance board initiatives. You'll see some of that here tonight. Improve and maintain learning environment. Consider priorities by the individual learning teams, building teams. Consider operating costs. And then we always want to bring projects forward that the community will support. What are those board initiatives? OE12. You'll see us next week as we bring or two weeks from now when we bring OE12 to. I really want to talk about the long range uh plan, facility plan that the superintendent brought to you several months ago. Talked about some key factors. Uh key task number three, invest

in public facing facilities. You'll see some of that today. We'll talk about some of that. Uh primarily when we talk about that, we're talking about the central high auditorium. We're talking about the Logan Middle Auditorium, Central Athletic Fields, and then the front entrance landscaping. You won't see a lot of landscaping projects here, but rest assured, we're in the process of planning out this summer when school starts many of our front entrances and landscaping will look much different than they do now. And so, we're in the process of putting those plans together, implementing them over the course of the summer, doing a lot of that work internally. And then when we look at key task number six, update our middle school facilities. And I know you're aware of this, but we have an a we're in

the evaluation phase right now. We're meeting every Thursday. We've got people involved. We got principles involved. We got architects involved. And we're looking at those processes based on the workshop that the board did several months ago. And so that that's all in the works. So, when we start looking at projects, we'll start with Central High School, uh, the auditorium, a publicf facing facility, right? >> Desperately needs it. I would agree with you. And so, we're really looking at flooring, seating, lighting in there, uh, at that facility. You can see here, um, that kind of demonstrates everything. It's it's usable, but it isn't what we want to present, right? So you'll see some of this that will be a project that we'll probably try to implement in the middle of the year around Christmas time. We're

still in the design phase. We want to get the colors right. We want to do all those things right. And so we probably will get our best pricing if we can do that uh sometime in the Christmas time. So we'll be working toward that. Yeah. >> So quick question. Let me know if I'm jumping the gun here. If we're doing it during the Christmas time, are we going to be interrupting any like performances during >> We we will be working with them very closely, but it would be after those performances and before the spring ones occur. >> Okay. >> And that Christmas vacation. So, if we do everything right, if the timing is right, >> we can get a lot of work done, i.e. replacing the seating. That's the biggest piece that >> Yeah, >>

we might do the lighting before then. And so we'll be working on some of those phases before that time, but that would be the goal for us to do that. And we'll get our best pricing by doing that as well. >> Yeah, it sounds like a lot of the things like it's not exactly a meeting project. It'll still take a couple months, but it's not going to take too long to get this done and drop all the performances, >> right? >> I'm more excited about the flooring. I remember I did color guard for like a Memorial Day ceremony back when his high school almost tripped on it. I think I said this last year, too. >> Yeah. We'll be and if you notice the stage flooring up on the lower picture, lower left picture, we'll

be actually be doing that June 1st. So, we've already talked to the music department, right? They said we don't have anything happening in June. So, that time we'll take care of the stage. Okay. >> We'll probably take care of the lighting during the course of the school year and then we we'll gearing toward the seating to happen at at the Christmas break, if you will, again, so we can get our best pricing. >> Yeah. You might not know, but the there's a full catwalk over the top of that ceiling and so you can access lighting and electrical pretty easily that way. >> Yeah. >> Hang on up there. >> Yeah. And then um we'll be adding vape detectors. We'll do this at both high schools. So that's a board initiative. So we'll be doing that

on the remaining uh restrooms and and the boys and the girls at both high schools. So that's part of this process. We're looking at replacing dugouts at Shelby baseball fields. If you know you've you're aware of that. We're starting to work toward us maintaining those fields and we're doing that now. But the goal would be to move Central's baseball field to give them an athletic facility over there and this starts that process of getting ready for that to happen and also allows us then to expand for future expansion of the school and parking here at Central. Yes. >> I'm going to be annoying again. So, just quick question about the vape detectors. You said it's going to be in all the bathrooms at all. >> It will be in all the bathrooms. >> Okay. And

then I remember one of the original concerns when we installed this is that some vape detectors could be damaged by students or anything like that. Has there been any recorded damage for any? >> We we haven't. You know, it will tell us we'll get a report right away if someone's tampering with it and we'll get a report and then all of our vape detectors are connected to cameras outside the bathrooms. So we know after they've been used um where look at the camera, we can tell what students or adults leave when that happens. And don't always assume as students. Um you'll be getting a report that will show uh at OE12 and uh our biggest use of the vape detectors is in the women's breath room restroom on the days we have basketball tournaments here.

So you be the judge, right? So it isn't always our students where that's going off. Um and then we'll be remodeling some sped classrooms as well. >> Quick question. Sorry. >> Yeah. when we're when we're getting into the auditorium repairs and doing things as significant as tearing out seats and are we refinishing the flooring or replacing it? >> That's where we're going to put in carpeting. So, we're going to carpet the the aisles and that will and it will coordinate with the color that we'll paint the room will coordinate with the seating that we have. >> Okay. And the stage itself is getting refinished. >> And that the stage itself is getting refinished. Yep. When we're doing things of that scope, do we run into any ADA concerns that we need to improve accessibility on

the existing facilities? >> No, we will not run No, we're good ADA wise. Yep. Good question. Yes, ma'am. >> Um, just in thinking about the branding now, are we picking neutral colors for things like the seats and whatnot so that that's not something we get branded when have to go back and change the right color? >> Yeah, that's a great question. And I think what we'll use is the scope. You've we've done some remodeling here at central, right? And here the central office and then if you look down at the central office, then you look at the Hogan administration center. So it will be the color palette will be very similar to what you see right now with our high schools. We're not really going to be moving their brands at all. You know, those

are are in fact getting cohesive in a way. red colors, white, you know, and so we're pretty confident that red will start to become our our district branding colors. Maybe we shift the pan tone a shade this way or that way officially. Um but we are confident that red will be a unifying feature of our schools as we move forward. >> Good question. >> Um at Logan High School, we'll be replacing the dust collection system. Really a safety issue. Uh that one's been there for a long time. It's original to the building. Replacing that. Sanding gym floors. and you'll see that's the lower lower left uh picture of the gym floors. Next year we'll be bringing that forward for Central High School. Um but if you look both of our gym floors at Central and

Logan need to be resanded. It's difficult to find time to do that because our gyms are used so much and you'll see that in our building use report. And so we're actually going to start this uh before school gets out. That's the only time that we can do that when our gyms aren't being used. And so working with the coaches over there and the PE teachers to make sure that we can do that. We'll be replacing four outside air dampers. Um replace science room cabinets. Um at Logan High School, uh we're replacing the baseball dugouts. Uh we often talk about baseball are making partnerships the baseball dugouts. Uh TC will be contributing about $20,000 to that project because they use our facilities. So, uh, that's a big piece of what we'll be doing there. >>

That's great. >> Um, yes. >> And I'm going to annoying you for the third time. >> Yeah, it's a good time. Um, about the baseball dugouts. So, last year or the last two years, we also had that big remodel with the bleachers out there as well. >> Yes. >> Is this connected to that same yard? Is it a different yard? >> Yeah, it's a different yard. Okay. So, it's close to that. It's to the east from there. And what we're doing is we're really upgrading our athletic facilities. you'll see that we we talked about central um but the girls softball field if you've seen that um we've upgraded those facilities the boys baseball field will look similar to that and that's what we're looking for. >> I need to take a tour about that. Is

there anything that's missing that after this for the Logan area that hasn't been for >> Yeah. Yeah. that we don't have we only have an eight lane track so we would like six lane track excuse me. So we'd like to make a nine lane track. we'd like to do some things differently. Uh that would be phased in down the road, but that was absolutely where we'd like to be down the road. >> Good know. >> So then we can have regional track meets. >> Yeah. It's perfectly positioned and it's occasionally been an alternate for, you know, they the state track meet has talked about alternates as well in our area or holding additional events or concurrent events there. uh once we upgrade it to uh a larger track, we'll be able to really uh fulfill

the promise of all that that site has to offer. >> And then when we did do relighting, I can't tell you the year it was, probably around 2012 when we redid the lighting, we put the lights in a place where we could expand that to a nine lane track. So they're already where there need to be located. Y and then um adding vape detectors to the restrooms and then replacing suspended basketball structure. Few years ago, we had one a major break there. Um, someone used the the bleachers while the baskets were down and they got major. We're fixing all that now. Again, our gyms are used all the time. So, anytime that we can upgrade our basketball facilities to meet all the needs and that's part of that process. So, $624,000 there at Logan Middle.

Again, you'll see this as a common theme when we look at upgrading our athletic facilities. If you see the scoreboard there, you're going to see the exact same thing at Longfellow. Those are old. In fact, we're having trouble getting parts and so we'll putting LED basketball uh hoops in there. We'll be replacing the scoreboards. Um if you look at the window down here, if you look at the lower right, um last year we put in two windows in classrooms that didn't have windows. We're going to do that same thing this year and give some natural lighting, natural ventilation in some classrooms. And then we're what you see to the left there. We're working on a plan um for the the theater there. It's a little bit different than Central's, right? Because it's a performing theater.

So, their needs are going to be different. We're looking at a plan for that. And so, you may see us come forward with some funding uh request as it relates to that. But right now, we're not kind of finished with that plan, but we're working on that uh to do that. And then we'll be placing backboards uh there as well at Longfellow. Um the first thing we're going to be doing is we're going to be placing an air handling unit, rooftop unit on the upper left hand right here. You can see the location of that air handlers right here. And so we'll be replacing that unit. We'll be replacing also uh the scoreboards there. Uh last year we started the process and this will be the standard for all of our schools. again trying to

upgrade facing facilities, right? And so replacing shades and so very similar to these that will be the standard that will start replacing shades into the schools. Uh we're going to upgrade the elevator. It needs some uh you won't notice it on the outside, but it needs some um technology update and then we'll be remodeling the sped space that we have downstairs. uh great space, but we need to upgrade that um and give them a little bit larger space, divide it into two rooms, make it a little bit more presentable. >> Yes. >> Going back to Longfellow. >> Yeah. >> Um I was kind of curious if we can perhaps do like a needs assessment for some of the facilities over at Longfellow. And one of the things that I when I toured Longfellow earlier this

year, I got a lot of things about how um worn down some of the bathrooms are, especially for faculty bathrooms there as well. I'm kind of curious if that's something that will be addressed along in the future if since it sounds like there's a lot of needs in the long foul and in the middle schools themselves. >> Yeah, we upgraded we upgraded the majority of the bathrooms uh two years ago um I think two or three years ago and so we're looking at that. That's again part of the process that we're going through for Logan Middle and uh Longfellow looking at what does those facilities need and we're really putting that assessment together. part of what we're meeting every Thursday and talking about uh with principles, architects, and seeing where that takes us when we

talk in terms of our middle schools. So, you'll be seeing more and more with that. And our >> You forgot to say that was number four. >> And at our facilities workshop that you weren't able to attend, I would just add that we were able to share a comprehensive assessment of all of our buildings with the kind of grades and like areas uh to highlight and so we can certainly make sure that you're going to come. Yeah, I vaguely remember that. I just want to make sure I got a full assessment. >> Definitely love that. >> At Northwoods, uh we replace the hallway flooring. We did this at Southern Bluff several years ago, built at the same time, but we have not done that. So, again, public facing facilities doing that. And then we're replacing

all the bathroom sinks. Again, uh we went put this type of sink in. Again, it's hard to find parts for that and they're starting to wear out. Uh at Hamilton Elementary School, we'll be placing art in the art and music room. We're replacing all the ceiling and lighting in there. Um and that's the picture to the lower left. And then we'll be placing a flooring in those four rooms. I show you this only because um I want to show you this picture that is asbestous tile. It's 9 by9 tile. It would last forever, right? But unfortunately, we have carpeting there that needs to be replaced. And one of the things that um someone before my time did is they put carpeting over asbestous tile. And so it makes sense now that we have to replace

that carpeting is that we just take out all the asbestous tile and replace the flooring in the whole room. And then so that's what we have four rooms uh four classrooms. Those will be the last four classrooms. We have a couple small classrooms, not classrooms, but couple office space, but that flooring would last forever. Um, but we're replacing it now because of that reason. And then we'll be going into the restrooms, placing all the sinks and faucets uh in their restrooms. At Southern Bluffs, what we're going to be doing at Southern Bluffs will be adding AC unit to the office. We've wanted to do this for years. What that really does is isolates the office. We don't have a lot of summer school there. Um, so we have to heat and cool the whole building

just uh when we have just people in the office. So, this will be a uh a money-saving adventure. And so, uh we'll also be replacing the doors to the roof. Uh they're they're old and worn out. And then remodel the LGI. And that LGI, if you can see the call them the pits, if you will, we're taking them out everywhere. You'll see us that we'll be doing that at State Road as well, just part of that project. And so, we'll be replacing those things at Southern Bluffs. At Summit, we're going to be replacing roof number two. This is the roof over the gym. If you see that, that's a foam roof. We've had success with foam roofs very much so, but it's time. It's lived its life expectancy. And so, we're replacing that at Summit

Elementary School. Districtwide, uh, we have a little bit money in there for paving. And so, what we do every spring, we evaluate what we need to do and we replace paving and parking lots and asphalt and where we can, uh, architecture, engineering, consulting if we need that during the course of this. And then safety, we got extra money in here this next year for safety. Uh we're really upgrading our access control. Um our software was to we put that in place in 2009. And so we'll be adding more access control, giving us better control of who's entering and entering and exiting our facilities. And then um what you see there is the technology. We use a Vicata uh camera system. And so you'll see the security cameras are tied into our intercom system and tied

into our guest system. And then that's what our air quality sensor, that's what our vape sensors look like. All tied in. They're all Vicata, so they're tied into each other. And so they work well with each other. And we're upgrading our software packages to address some of those things. Yes. >> Number five today. I'm on a roll. But um question about the video security. Is there anywhere security for the outside facilities like the um >> Yes, we have cameras for the outside facilities. It's really interesting uh where we've gone over the years, right? I can remember back in 2009 when we put in our first cameras in this. Nobody wanted them. Nobody wanted them. Now everybody wants them. When I start talking, when I go around and I have the meetings with engineers and the

principles, they want to add more cameras. Outside is one of those areas. And so as we we'll be adding some cameras as part of this, but really hopefully we sell Lincoln and we'll be moving the Lincoln cameras and we'll be putting those out into other areas. Yeah. >> And then a followup for that there. I remember from my own time and also hearing this from our students right there. I mean we talked about a baseball dugout. Is there any kind of security in the baseball dugouts for Sounds like that's a common hot area for >> Yeah, it is a common hot area. And so what we've done in other areas, we fenced them off so they can't get in there during the day. But the bottom line is we want to update our athletic facility

and probably take away the the dugouts here as we create others. >> Okay. >> Yes. Yes. >> Is there any um talk of adding blue cams to go directly to the Lacrosse Police Department like I have personally? >> Yeah. No, we haven't done that, but the the police department has access to all of our cameras. They also have key fobs in every one of their police cars, so they have access into the process. We just recently evaluated our camera system and an it was Annne Andress and we had Alex Schaefer from IT and then we had the police department. The three of them evaluated everything. They like the systems that we have, but no, we haven't we haven't talked about changing and doing that, but they were a part of the evaluation process because we

really wanted to know we have 406 cameras, I think the number is and so we've invested a lot of money. Are we still is this the route we need to go and when it was all said and done, all three entities were happy with the systems that we have. Yeah. But the police officers do have access to them. Yeah. And so you look at the capital improvements, this will look a little bit different. This is a snapshot in time, but if you look at the total for this year is $2,712,500. And so you see how we've broken it out. One of the things that I and I shared this with you last year, but I still want to show you this this year, taking schools offline. You'll see in our capital improvement book, we'll still

have that number for Emerson, but it's all into no time frame, right? So we've moved it to no time frame. except for Hogan we took off the books and then State Road we took that number off the books. So if you're looking at the number of by doing what we did by passing the referendum by progressing to where we're going, we've taken $29 million off the capital improvement book. Now we know not all those projects were going to happen, right? Uh they would over time, but it shows you what the board the decisions that you made to go to referendum have a direct impact on that. And so one of the things I'm looking forward to is right sizing our district so we can put the dollars into the schools uh that we have and

I think it's a great strategy. So thank you for leading the charge in that. Want to talk a little bit about Hogan Elementary School and so construction update. You got a little bit of an update today. Um so won't talk uh too much about that but we have geothermal wells. know that we have 110 geothermal wells 500 feet deep. As of today, they have finished 30 of them. And so, uh, that process is going. But I really want to talk to you about, uh, the furniture and the playground process because in this in this budget that we have for the new school, we have money for furniture, which is great. When we built the north side, we did not have money for furniture, and so we were moving old furniture there. So, one of the

things that we did is we put a furniture committee together. And so made up of staff members, they've met at least 20 times on this. And so we even had a furniture, we even had a furniture um trial at Lincoln. We brought in these vendors. We put the furniture out. Teachers were able to come sit in it, look at it, see what kind of desk they wanted in for themselves, desk they wanted for students. And so you'll see some of that come forward. We also put a playground committee together. and you're going to see what uh they have done. And so we invited three playground um vendors in and we did an RFP. They presented to uh this committee and the committee chose one of the vendors to move forward with. And so you'll see

that coming forward too, but I want to show you some of the renderings of that. But before I get to that, I kind of forgot about the solar panels. So, Hogan Elementary School, we're putting solar. Um, we've talked about that when we come talk about sustainability. Um, we'll have 195 solar panels. We think that will also offset uh utilities by about 50%. That's a conservative number, but that's what they're telling us. And so, if we didn't have those solar panels on there, our utilities would be 50% higher. >> Yes. >> Is that include the differential with the germo geothermal? Yes. >> Yeah. That that includes that. Yes. >> Are you doing any sort of battery backup on that or >> No, we're not doing any battery. We'll just you we'll just use it as we

go. So, we're not doing any battery backup, but we will have a backup generator there, but not related to to solar. >> You should look into it. We have that on our house. >> Yeah. >> It doesn't mean we can't down the road. That's for sure. >> I don't love the idea of having giant lithium batteries embedded in the Y. >> That's just me. Yes. >> Um, is this going to change anything when it comes to maintaining operations during the winter time? If there's a big winter storm, we >> No, we haven't had any issues. As you well know, we have solar on five or six schools. Not an issue at all. >> Okay. >> Yep. I just showed you these two pictures because it's going all 195 are going over the top of the

gym. So, you can kind of see where the gym and cafeteria are and that's where the solar panels are going. >> It's great. um 4K uh the Hogan Elementary School 4K playground. Uh this is what they've come to. They're just making final little final touches now, but our 4K area, if you see that, they'll have a variety of areas soft surface for them to do that. And so we'll have handicap accessibility there. And so really, really neat playground. >> Yeah. >> So we just we just went through a whole bunch of resurfacing. What What is the surface going to be? Yeah, it will be it will be a a rubber surface, a hard rubber surface, >> but not chewed up tires. >> Not chewed up tires. Not shoot up tires. No, we're not using that.

>> Like Train Park. Exactly like Train Park, >> which all the kids love. >> Yes. And then this is the regular playground outside. So you can see there we will have a combination of the rubber uh surface along with the wood chips. And they did this for a reason, right? We have a certain budget and the committee decided we only want a certain portion of it where kids where it's accessible for kids. The other portion we'll do that because we want to put more playground equipment in and so they chose to do that and that was part of the whole process. >> I love the idea of having separate playgrounds for the children because a lot of times >> younger kids kind of get shoved out they're not able to play. >> I think it's

fantastic. >> And then the size of the equipment too just right >> stays appropriate. safety. >> And then if we go to State Road School, just kind of construction update there. We talked about the masonary walls. What you'll see now is the foam insulation starting to put in on the on the east side of the building. There's going to start that. They'll be doing the brick facade in the next couple weeks and a portion of that. So, you'll see those things. Uh Dr. Engel talked about uh the roofing and the other things that are happening. What you see here is what the building's supposed to the rendering, but I wanted to show you where they are today construction wise. So you can kind of compare the two. Really moving along really well. And so um

it's uh exciting to see where we're at. I will tell you it's going to go down to the wire. The new school, no problem. We'll be done next July. I can guarantee you that. But this is going to go down to the wire and you'll see what I mean here in a second. I want you to get an idea of everything that's being done. So you see everything in red there. That is all the addition, right? But we are literally touching every other space in that school. And so if you look here now, we're doing the library and I'll show you the library layout in a few minutes. Um, but everything in green, this is existing building that will be getting new flooring. >> They'll be getting small groupoup instruction space. And this over here

will be putting in new windows. And so if you look at the gymnasium over here that serves as cafeteria gymnasium, uh basically that chiller that's there is being replaced. It will be put on this side of the building. Replacing most of this wall and putting natural lighting. And so if you go to the second floor, it will match the first right over here. So what that means is literally every single room will be touched this summer and then the cubbies and the hallways. So about the only thing we're not replacing is the hallway flooring and then the office addition that was done in 2012. So literally be a new school. But to make that happen, we are renting eight um utility trailers that we'll be taking all of the things out of the school, putting

in those trailers the first two weeks of school and then the last two weeks we'll be putting it all back. And so it's a big undertaking. So when I talk about our custodial staff, we're doing that all internally. So that's a big piece of the puzzle. But >> did did you mean the first two weeks of summer? >> Yeah. Did I say two >> You said school. I was like, wait a minute. >> The first two weeks of summer, we'll be doing that and then the first the two weeks before school starts, >> right? Yeah. >> Thank you. >> Uh this is the LMC and this I'll be bringing this back to you. This is tenative where we're doing, but what we'll be doing at the LMC, we'll be filling in this pit that's all

here. Um, we'll be adding a conference room here. And then this is a stairwell. If you're not familiar with State Road, it's kind of hard to see. Um, but what we'll the stairwell, we'll be putting a wall here. This will be the entrance into the LMC. So, you'll be able to get around the building a little bit easier, but you'll also be able to get into the conference room from either side. And so, the flooring, uh, the LMC U circulation desk will all match what's happening um, everywhere else. And so that will be a part of the process that you see. Uh if we look at the solar panels there, we're putting in 110 solar panels. Um if you look where we're doing, we're having a little bit of trouble with the solar panels here.

We can't put as many primarily because we're so close to the woods. And so you'll see the location of those 110 panels and it will offset utilities by 28%. at this facility. And then the State Road kitchen. Um, we're working diligently on this one. You, this is a project we won't do this summer. It will be next summer. So, we'll be putting out for bid. You'll probably see that in the fall coming back to you. Um, we're taking a little bit of space that we're taking into the what we call the cafeteria right here, but they will also have now a refrigerator, freezer. Um, and you can see they've been working with the designer on getting students, how can we get through students through this effectively and so updating the kitchen there. And so there

only probably be a couple minor uh changes from this point on, but that's what it looks like right now. >> That shows the the arrows or the like the foot traffic. >> Yep. >> So hard to see. >> Yep. I know it's not easy to see. This is the best I had because we're not done with >> two service lanes is what I'm seeing. >> Two service lanes. Yep. And so they'll be able to go right through there. And then if you look at the state road playground, that's another area where we're putting some additional money. And so if you look, this is the design. So we probably won't use all rubber surface because we'll add some more playground equipment here. One of the things that's happening with this process, whether it's furniture or playground,

we put these committees together. And so that will now become the standard when it comes to upgrading playgrounds. That's the standard because we had a process. when it comes to buying furniture that will become the standard because we have a process. And so the goal here will be adding a couple more pieces of playground equipment along with some of the rubber surface with the the money that we we uh gave additional money that we gave and then I'll open it up for questions. So that's a quick quick uh overview of what's happening but a lot of things are happening exciting things and so yeah >> it may be more expensive but are any of those hard surfaces porous >> uh porous and >> they water drains through? >> Uh yeah no not they don't really

drain through it. We do have a draining system there but I wouldn't say they're >> no but they even have black top now that's porous. >> Yes they have black top that's porous. I wouldn't call them porest, but we do have a draining system underneath them. >> Yeah. Most of the water will go off the surface. >> Yeah. >> Yep. >> If only there was a creek nearby to >> Yes. >> Any other questions? >> Okay. Thank you very much. >> Good night. >> Yes. >> Sleep tight. It's a bummer we couldn't get more solar on state road though. >> I know. And we really wanted to, but we really couldn't because of the location. >> And no geothermal work there. >> Um, to tell you the truth, we did pursue that. I think it

would work, but enormous amount of money that >> you got to do it when you >> right from the start. >> I don't know anything about it. Then we will move into a brief close session >> to read a fun thing. You have to read the >> Oh, yes. I have the thing presumably. I have the thing. >> My computer for the >> uh No, I got it. Sorry. >> Okay. meetings. Okay. All right. Um, the Lacrosse Board of Education will consider a motion to move into close session on Monday, May 4th, 2026, immediately following the board of education workshop in the Central High School room 232, pursuant to Wisconsin statute 19.85, 85 parent one parent C for the purpose of considering employment promotion compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which

the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility to wit superintendent evaluation. Is there a motion? >> So moved. >> Second. >> All in favor of the motion. >> Oh, we need a roll call vote for Okay, >> Mr. Albert. >> I. >> Mr. Beski. >> Hi. >> Miss Folks. >> Hi. >> Dr. Garcia. >> Hi. Miss H. >> I, >> Mr. Jackson. >> Hi, >> Mr. Manga. >> Hi, >> Mr. Newster. >> Hi. >> Okay, here's the document that was shared the last time. >> Reference. >> Okay. Uh, >> do we need Patty? >> Are you hanging out? >> Helpful. >> It could be helpful.
