agenda has previously been distributed to the board and I'd entertain a motion with a second to approve the agenda AGA as submitted move is there a second okay move by Mr bagneski seconded by Dr sprag to approve the agenda as presented all those in favor please signify by saying I I all those opposed motion has carried and we'll move on to public speakers we do not have anyone registered to speak so we'll move on to our school showcase where we'll have our district communications director Nick Maru present to us welcome Nick thank you all right we're going to pop some stuff up on the screens for you real quick there you go all right uh I am Nick Maru I am your Communications coordinator for the school dist lacrosse I bring 25 years of experience
in uh television film news and school Communications to my role um our department has led video projects recognized with dozens of state and national awards over the 10 years that I have spent in the district uh little bit about my past I am definitely a Mr Rogers Neighborhood kid um that PBS was my jam when I grew up so my favorite part of that whole show was when they would leave the house they would go out into the neighborhood and you would learn how color crayons are made why guitar sounds like they do how the post office works so I bring all of that love of that uh Magic in the kind of ordinary to my role here in the school district of Lacrosse our Department's role uh we helped make our district shine so
we showcase District opportunities student and staff success and Community Partnerships um we do a lot to capture stories inside of all the buildings to highlight uh the kids the teachers through video photography social media public and media relations uh we lead a lot of the Strategic and crisis communication support for the entire District at a districtwide level and also a building level um bridge the gap really a kind of a community concierge between the city of Lacrosse and the school district of Lacrosse we engage our community um not just our families but also our entire community of Lacrosse again through some of you guys at the table have asked in the past where is all of the information um majority of our audience right now is Facebook bigger in Instagram is growing our YouTube page
is growing we're on LinkedIn and next door as well since the last referendum um parent square is new to the district we are sending kind of trying to find that Cadence um we discovered very quickly uh how much is too much so we've peeled that back districts using parent Square from the Communications office more for weather uh alerts and closures um Golden Apple Awards and recipients kind of big pieces instead of little stuff every single day um we had not as much success with the everyday thing as I had hoped um Publications we also do some digital newsletters and print materials as needed uh mostly like 4K registrations if we did anything for the referendum but on a daily basis we reach thousands of people in our local community we do a lot with video
we get a lot of Engagement through video um one of those is we like to go out and do stories about student advocacy so kids of any age in our district making a real world impact um for you know to make Lacrosse an even better place so this first one I'm going to show you uh it's a classroom INE classroom INE is a series we've had for the last probably eight years uh award-winning on a state and National level they are always 60 seconds to the dot they tell stories of individual programs um or classroom projects uh this one is State Road elementary schools rers for change those fourth graders um decided they wanted a bus stop OB City MTU bus stop closer to the state Ro Elementary School for kids with little legs who
are inside of that two mile boundary and can't take the school buses so please enjoy so what started out as a way to try and get kids out into the community we looked at the public transportation system and there's a lot of families even within our for fourth grade classrooms that rely on public transportation the bus stop is pretty far and it's like a long walk and some kids are like younger and have little legs we wrote letters to the mayor to our superintendent of schools to the bus director to say this is what could make the community better in hopes that within the next year we'll see a bus stop closer to State Road ele I think it's important for everyone to like use their voice because not everyone has enough Transportation or the
right transportation to get to where they need to be I hope that they know that their voice matters in little and big ways because that's how we make things happen and that's how we make the community better for [Music] everyone so just a little Glimpse um they've not gotten the bus stop yet they're still working on the kids are following up with everybody they had a nice meeting with Dr Engle they have had conversation with the mayor's office um and they do follow up so they're working on it so I will report back if if they get it which I hope they do um collaboration for us is definitely a key so we work really closely with a lot of different partners that concierge piece so a lot with local media Community State national organizations
uh we share information we share content we share resources with a host of folks uh we work hand inhand with the lacrosse public education foundation on a very regular basis now NE and I talk probably every day so when you see those two rounds of Grants go out we then take um the press release from Nell and we make sure we're scheduling all of those so once the money is in hand if those are pretty Visual and unique we then schedule times for shoots news releases video shoots and we just keep rolling through all of those until that year is over and we start over again um we work with grow a lot uh the governor in the in the canoe um we work with the governor's office on a pretty regular basis um I'm
not sure of other districts at least on the west side of the state that have as many visits from um the governor as we do and in this one he was a a real good sport came down into the muck got into a boat with two fifth graders who had never uh rode a canoe before and uh didn't get wet he did say he had the right shoes um his security detail was in my boat that guy was terrified so uh but it went uh it went really really well um all these collaboration pieces all the different groups we work with uh the chamber downtown Main Street Inc Fire Department police department on a regular basis um really strengthens what we do and how many different people in the community are able to hear about
the things that are going on in the district um it's also made us really really responsive to things so uh incident at Central High School um anytime there's a weather closure if there's an a safety incident outside of a building where we have had to secure a building we're in contact um with the sro's with the the Pio at the police department in minutes um very responsive and we have excellent relationship so we continue to move those forward um some of those um Partnerships are inside of our Academy so we've been highlighting all of the different acms and a lot of our CTE offerings over the past year really hitting it hard um amplify health and may Clinic Health System along with all the universities um and the science Consortium just so many part Partners
on this but this one in particular pathway Journeys is a series that we do to really highlight CTE opportunities for kids um career Focus learning and action so we did uh two minute videos for each of theems the newest one is the health science academy one so just want to give you a little taste of what the collaborative piece looks like the opportunity for a student thinking about working in healthcare they're going to have opportunities that no other high school students in the area area will have we're able to show them the skill sets that are used the type of work you'll be doing in that field the environment that you'll be working in and get them exposed to some of the skill sets and actually some Hands-On practice so that they can get an
actual up close informative look at what it really entails we put them into a scenario where there's emotions adrenaline dump and we make them put that skill set that they learned in the classroom to work under those conditions it's important to get that hands-on experience because is it really lets them know if it's something that's fitting for them and you really don't know until you get your hands on it when I think about how I want to prepare my students I'm really thinking about it from the aspect of wanting them to have effective communication skills being able to communicate with Professionals in healthcare being comfortable in those spaces it's the other skills that we really want them to have because those are going to become the really important skills that they need to demonstrate when
they get in into their technical school or into their college or on the job training the group aspect of it it feels like the people skills you're going to use that for whatever career you have working together with this partnership I think is just explosive and I think it's going to keep taking off if you have the opportunity to do the program then you definitely should because even if you're not looking to go into the healthcare field it opens your eyes to so many different careers that you could go into that aren't working directly with patience we really feel like the Health Science Academy in itself is a community or even like a family once you're an HSA student you're always an HSA student couple notes on that uh Jim hilot from the fire department
superhero in real life it's really weird but he's awesome you should know that um Jen Voit uh like she said um experience that no other high school kid is going going to have we we try to focus our time and resources on the things that are unique to Lacrosse we could go out and we could do penny wars and we could do food collection and we could do the same thing that every other school is doing in all of their other buildings we take the resources and the time and we're really really try to hone in on the unique opportunities for kids because we have the most opportunities for kids so we try to share those stories with people um the last year we've seen a lot of new work so we've talked you guys
have talked at the table a little bit heard about meter uh brand strategy agency we've worked really closely with for the last six months um through research projects surveys interviews all the things that they did they came back with really kind of three key areas um things that we were doing but we're going to be really pushing the pedal down on so really putting stories first um showcasing characters so Student Success staff Excellence those Community Partnerships that we talked about that are so important um and again the opportunities you're going to hear about that a lot tonight so showing what is possible in the school district of Lacrosse not just um kind of that base level but unique things that happen um really working on we we do a really good job on clear and
honest communication and the transparency piece we're trying to simplify the language so bring that down really take these these giant things that you talk about at this table synthesize it into these smaller packages that most people can consume and understand and if they have questions they know how to follow up uh we are also working with uh Elevate media uh for a marketing campaign Elevate worked with us for a good amount of years now I think it's seven or seven or eight mostly it's been open enrollment commercials um things that we used to do in traditional media uh We've since moved all of our traditional offline and gone strictly online so all of our marketing efforts now with the dollars that we have go into digital marketing um we do a lot with uh meta
we do a lot with Google um we're doing a little bit of print but it's real specific for 4K at this point the pieces coming out of this are now going to be kind of a yearr round slow drip so you're not going to just see it for a three-month period about enroll and Roll and Roll it's going to highlight those three buckets again opportunities that great things happen every day in our district and better education together so those Community Partnership pieces are really get hammered down on um we're going to try ot for the first time so some of the streaming platforms that still have ads that we can Target demographic we will start to see some District things on Hulu for pre-rolls that you can't skip we'll continue YouTube we'll continue uh Instagram
and Facebook as well oh and for this was for Trevor I forgot the last line analytics um because of all the digital pieces now and coming off of the traditional pieces we are going to have um quite a bit of data coming back so what's working who's looking at things where should we move efforts how should we change things where should frequency change um that data came in a little bit last year when we sort of switched to the digital piece this year for the full 12 months we will have a lot of data um we understand the demo a lot better for you who don't know the about 80% of our digital audience right now is women um kind of in that 25 to 54 range 20% is men most of it is local
except for the last uh three months for some reason we're trying to figure out why the video content has switched 80% of it is people who do not follow the District but are still in our area um 20% are hardcore followers and people that really already see all of our content so trying to figure out where that switched but um one more awesome piece so getting out beyond the classroom we do another classroom minute but we we get out there anytime teachers can get kids out of four walls um and still teach them what they need to do and then they kind of take curricular pieces from the classroom and bring it to that outso piece so uh niik O'Keefe who I know you've seen and hopefully very much enjoy when he's up here um
he's just killing it every year every year we're out there for snowshoeing and ice fishing and hiking and biking and canoeing with the governor but this was his uh his latest Adventure so please enjoy ice fishing is a lifelong activity we're fishing three different ways on the ice tip ups tip downs and kids are all sitting on a bucket jigging we want all kids to experience outdoor things that maybe they haven't tried before fall in love with being outdoor so then that translates to taking care of the outside my hope is that the kids fall in love with the area and they work in save it and protect it so it can last for Generations we have curricular connections for all of our grade levels kids are doing math problems and short stories and science
experiments that tie to all of our outdoor activities we need to have an environment that is safe engaging and caring if we have that Foundation then we can help them to learn math science social study so then that we can help them discover their own passions and open doors wherever they go we had 133 fish catches on the ice with students we made memories that those kids will never forget this is just 60 seconds of Joy um what is next so more stories more reach more connection uh we are working on a full website redesign we were working on it earlier we hit a little hiccup where we've uh changed a little bit we are now doing it inhouse um with Jeremy schoonover so that's coming he's hoping to do a lot of those pieces
this summer and we launch the district and all of the school Pages by the end of this year uh Stronger social media presence connect with more people we're just going to keep like I said put that pedal of the metal and go you know as good as we can more video storytelling we're getting a lot more engagement um coming from uh film and TV and news this part drives me a little crazy because I like things to have a look and to have a feel and take the time and it's all of the effort I am now shooting vertical video on a phone every so often because it gets insane engagement so uh we went out to Mong New Year at Northside for the parade of kids I got 20 seconds of kids on my
phone and that thing blew up so anytime we do one of those especially from the high school if we do high school stuff from any of the performances for band Orchestra choir drama whatever it is 15 seconds and it's a gem so more of that's coming uh again for you guys we'll have realtime data analysis so we can track everything and adjust efforts as best we can uh not just telling our story though but we're we're trying to change how people see public education in the city of Lacrosse um doing the best we can so stay connected sharing our story if you guys are not already connected to all of these things um you will have these slides and all of the hot links work I encourage you to go follow all the things engage
with all of the content share all of the content help spread the word be cheerleaders from this table for this District um it it it means so much coming from the public face of this school district to hear about good things that are happening in the buildings especially I love the three of you guys so much the student folks because I think we talked at band Extravaganza but when you guys bring up stuff at this table I am watching at home and and I'm writing down notes and I contacting teachers and principles and I'm showing up in your buildings so please keep that those story leads coming in because I very very much appreciate it that's my Spiel uh there's my contact you have any questions for me you can shoot me an email a
text whatever you want or you can ask now Trevor I'm surprised you for preempting my my question about uh the metrics that that switch to uh going like almost fully online feels like a really big decision and I'm glad that we're going to be looking at you know when we when we take on a partnership even with a public with a with a local firm like meter which I think is a great opportunity like I'm glad that we're approaching that with with the mindset of of wanting to make sure that we're maximizing what the return on that investment is um I'm curious about what ultimately like drove the the decision to to do very very little in realistically it is so expensive um so if to give you kind of an idea the the referendum
when we sent the postcards um depending on size color how many pages those ran $6 to $9,000 per postcard um and that was Citywide so if we do just the we're continuing the preschool one because it just goes to the Box holders but we picked the demo for that so the demo for the preschool one is like any household any box holder in Lacrosse with kids of this age does doesn't matter if it's a parent we want all caretakers of all children for and down and we send out everything that one's about $600 cuz that that sample size is so much smaller um when I started we used to have a basically a 12 P page magazine that came out of the district called Community talk we had boxes boxes and boxes and boxes of
full color magazines in hallways that we just couldn't get rid of and the cost on that was like 30 plus thousand I think for a run um so that one way so we slowly moved away when we did the meter information or the meter surveys um skewing older for some of that data was we would like phone calls and we would like print materials in our mailbox so we're starting to look at kind of a by anual probably full color maybe one sheet thing that can just fold that we can then go back to Lacrosse mail and print say we want this demo give me 60 and up all box holders and give me the quote even I think when we did that I think each one was $1,800 for a run um so yeah
but you know almost four grand to get it out and that was six months ago I think when we quoted it but the the digital piece when we when we talked to elevate two years ago and we started to switch to digital we we found out to I should grin that we were the final traditional Advertiser through Elevate media all of their clients had pulled from traditional um and switched it to digital for that analytics piece so it's it was so much harder to go through a TV station and run a traditional air schedule and be like I need I need to know who saw this I need to know who watched it I need who clicked on a thing there is none of that information so we we made the switch um this year
was fully so we're scripts are back um there'll be a lot of 15s and a lot of the placement will be meta so we'll get Instagram and Facebook a lot of pre-roll things YouTube we did some skippable and non-skippable last year obviously we had way more uh you know views off of the unskippable but they also cost three times as much so w with the placement right now is kind of where we're playing um to see where what that proper buy looks like can I follow up on you can um so thinking about the print materials that we do send out that are that are not so much like marketing the district but are are like important parent communication um what kinds of print materials or let me ask it a different way uh how
how are we considering print as as an accessibility option for a of different families like languages are you talking about well yeah languages but also not everyone may have reliable internet access a lot of our departments I think we're still kind of working on this from a department angle communication sends out really specific things so for the print things for me it's generally enrollment pieces 4K registration pieces enroll or um referendum pieces the other departments are sending like summer school pieces um signups for certain things like those all kind of go out I for the majority of them I believe they're working with El staff and doing translations or just making phone calls to like connect with people instead of did you get the thing in the mail um so yeah it's sort of a
work in progress great and there's lots of print that goes out at the building level and the department level that isn't a part of this like top tier Communications plan and that goes out every day in folders and sent home with kids it's hard sending home print with middle schoolers and high schoolers it often doesn't get from the classroom to the locker to the home because it's not there's not a convenient method for transmitting that information and so then direct communication through parent Square other things emails a little bit more convenient and reliable there questions or comments I especially love your photography and videography it's incredible oh thank you yeah appreciate that those three are all going to be in for we just submitted them for the national school public relations Association awards for this
year so I'll let you know in May that's awesome yeah I like the the key messages you selected for this year are great too yeah I think those hopefully they're enduring yes um the the meter research really brought a lot of that to the Forefront I mean we were doing that was kind of our mission pieces moving forward as we've done for the last 10 years but the the the data came back with very much like teachers and kids we want to hear about them unique opportunities and Community Partnerships that make the district tick so we we've identified so many of those not just inside of CTE but we work with our Performing Arts folks and pretty much anybody that will let me know and we we've changed the the ask of Staff it used
to be kind of a generic what's going on in your school email that went out and we've altered that now to kind of a once a month communication that goes out with prompts so it's more of you know what does community look like inside of your school is it a kindergarten daily meeting is it an after school club is it a partnership with somebody in a downtown business that you're having kids come down and work with what does opportunity look like in your school so we're taking a lot of the pieces out of our mission and vision and using those as prompts for staff um the first prompt we sent out was the community one and generally I would get back you know you send an email to a thousand people thousand people think someone
else is going to answer it for them and I'm good and it' be the same kind of 12 people and they are always helpful um the first prompt came back with I think was 75 responses and about 50 of them were people I've never heard from before so we've had a lot there's there's a stack on my desk now of things we're working through trying to coordinate and the logistics of getting to a shoot for something so you're building your questions off your key messages yes that's cool I'm going to steal that at work anybody else I think one of the questions I might might have for you um is even though we may have reduced the amount of print that we're producing I doubt that the budget has reduced given how much digital advertising
can cost depending on how you go about it it is a little cheaper um it's much cheaper than traditional was it's definitely cheaper than print was um the nice thing is too we are picking our demo we are picking our access point so we can go in and really focus like do we want want this ZIP code this area of Lacrosse do we want to come outside of Lacrosse and hit a little bit for uh specifically for crva we're doing some pieces right now where it's not targeted for our buildings so we're not taking our own kids but it's very much inside of cesa 4 so we were able to kind of pick the demo and the location so we're not cannibalizing our own student population um yeah in Department budget being what it is
like we make the most of what we've got and we go from there um I would be remiss if I didn't mention it the the Wii um my news director uh God love her she's my favorite but um very much was in the mindset of The Newsroom runs as a Wii there is no I in The Newsroom so whenever I do these things or if I present at the you know Wisconsin State education convention or whisper or whatever it is all the stuff is a Wii we are a department of one at this point so there is limited time and resource not to use that as a crutch or an excuse or anything I think we're definitely producing at a very high level for what we have especially for comparables of other districts um but
yeah we I heard that sometime can you send a photographer can you send a thing like I will be there that night it's fine so yeah anybody else I think the only other thing I would have is um just a comment that I heard about the HSA um huge rave reviews um somebody who just uh participated in the interviews for the students and were just extremely impressed not only with our staff and how they comported themselves but the quality of the interview EES the students who are looking to get into HSA it was just very eye openening and they were very uh appreciative of and honored to be part of that process yeah and the the videos have been great for the the uhmy too because we've given all of the materials go to brda
so it's not just us trying to get prospective families and students or even employees for that point using LinkedIn and such with all these things but Brit is able to take out rack cards videos give full presentations with like this is what it's going to look like it's not just a couple pictures on a thing or like we'll explain it to you but like you get to kind of see it feel it hear it so it's been pretty beneficial any other comments from the board do have one um I I really appreciate that the the strategy has been to try to find these great ways of of meeting people where they're at and you you've mentioned a couple of times how we're able to really like fine-tune the demographics that we're reaching out to and
it just kind of occurs to me I I wonder if you can speak speak a little bit about how we're making sure that we're not not that we're targeting to focus but like when we're when we're sending out you know District to the or information to the whole Community right things that are relevant about the school district as a whole that the public has a real interest in knowing about in all of that demographic selection are we making sure that that we're not leaving out folks who may not have or no longer have kids in the district right who don't have that kind of immediate interest but it's still their Public Schools our excuse me our biggest challenge right now is getting things in front of people who don't have kids here who we don't
have active contacts for um so things like a referendum where we go out in the community and do the the info sessions and the listening sessions and we get mailers out to everybody you know the extreme cost of that not just in money but like time commitment from all of you and our team and um we're trying to get more into the community of those folks so all taxpayers not just the people that are tied into the school that's been really challenging because we were trying to find those Pathways so since the oh man maybe the operational referendum we had a lot of really good conversations with the neighborhood associations and just said kind of went out to all of them and said what how do we help get things to you and your community
because you have your lists and you have your people and you have your meetings what kind of things do you want to hear about how often do you want to hear about them how do you want me to get a hold of you for things um the vast majority just said just email the wagon Hogan thing or here's the one contact and so when we send out uh if there's a parent Square thing for me or if a news releaser what kind of the the big 30,000 foot pieces that we send out climate action plan things those go to our internal lists so all Staff All Families and then we've built kind of an other where it's uh the neighborhood associations and we'll get stuff to chamber we'll get stuff to Mi we'll get you
know we we're trying to get those tendrils out as far as we can but I think it's going to take some time because traditionally that's not how it's been done like we would put a notice in the newspaper or we would send a mailer or a newsletter and we called it a day and it things have changed so dramatically in the last 10 years last five years the last two years like we're working on it um but we're having that concierge piece where I'm not just here and I'm in buildings like I'm going to neighborhood association meetings I'm meeting with people downtown I mean like anytime I have an opportunity to get out and put faces to names and then make those connections like what can we send you what can we get you um
was on the lacrosse soup board for the last six years I'm on the Children's Museum board now so we're like any little inroad I can get where we can get a hold of those kind of stakeholders in different Community areas um yeah we're working on it but any I'm open to if you have suggestions because that that taxpayer who doesn't have a kid is the hard hardest person for us to get a hold of I I think your awareness of the challenge speaks volumes about your ability to address it so Greg Fenton has a plane and we did ask him if he would find uh time to drop leaflets at one point and he was open to the idea so there's that and the the people don't all watch the same three news channels anymore
people don't read the newspaper like they used to online sources people go to different places wisdom's a great news source but not everybody goes there um and so then you're like left with social and you have to op you have to opt into social you know to get that stuff so that ends up being an internal audience and even if you're a legacy person if you don't have kids and you're not looking at that stuff anymore the algorithm feeds it out of your view it doesn't keep it in your view if you stop looking at those sorts of things uh the only real way to hit everybody now is is direct mail and like Nick said we're contemplating reestablishing a biannual newsletter at kind of like critical times but it comes at a substantial cost
and and it's labor intensive too yeah yeah I mean once it's created it's it's good and it'll be a lot of the same content that we've sent in other other forms and other paths but we'll get there I'm not sure what neighborhoods you were talking about but we have once a month in all neighborhood leaders meeting at City Hall and I'd like to invite you yes please that would be good but yeah we'll connect any other comments from board members no all right hearing none thank you very much for the presentation we appreciate it thank you have a good night thank you you too right with that we'll move on to the superintendent consent agenda so the consent agenda is a mechanism that's used by the board to deal with routine business that must come
before the body are there any items that the members want to remove from the consent agenda Mr President like to remove the HR approvals and the summary of the staff handbook changes okay anybody else all right then with that can I get a motion and a second to approve everything but the summary of Staff handbook changes and HR approvals like make a motion to approve the items except for the staff um 20 again the staff staff handbook changes Chang HR approvals seconded okay move by Mr M seconded by Dr spra to approve all the items in the consent agenda superintendent's consent agenda except for the summary of Staff handbook changes and HR approvals all those in favor please signify by saying I I all those opposed motion is carried and we'll start with the summary
of Staff handbook changes uh my question is um what involvement have staff had in these changes have they are they aware of them were they was there a committee that looked at them is this just something that we hand out to them and this is what they live with which legally we can do how how does that work with as far as staff awareness of these changes yeah I mean the typical approvals are you know resignations retirements said those are all standard talking about the staff handbook oh staff handbook oh I apologize um yeah we've got a great process with the staff handbook so we meet with all of our employee groups three times a year um uh at least as a part of our joint leadership process and we bring all of those changes
here at our spring meeting to all of the groups and we go all through them line by line with everyone and talk about what it means and why um kind of discuss if there's better ways to do things um you know sometimes um will you know the the interest in a change will come from our employee groups our teachers our Administrative Assistant sometimes it comes from Administration we work through what it means to incorporate that change sometimes we'll make a change mid year when we see something that's really not working anymore or is you know doesn't fit our current operating it will make it an administrative change for a period of time but it won't it it'll get added to the handbook later on once we go through the annual process and so our staff
are right at the table talking through all of this throughout the school year as we go is there a mutual agreement with the staff then on all of these issues are there any issues that are we just kind of have to make tough decisions on these are all mutual agreement issues there's nothing in here that I remember as being uh where we disagreed uh in terms of the outcome the one maybe that would impact people is uh holidays for some of our support staff um aligning the number of holidays to what is typical in our area and also aligning it so it's similar across groups we had some disparities from some uh kind of Legacy practices that we needed to clean up uh but that was it there wasn't disagreement about that just a good
conversation about why yeah ones I read I thought were right in line with what they should be I I don't have any concerns with them I just want to know what employees um involvement was so I'd make a motion to approve the changes to the employee handbook second move by m second by Dr spr to approve the summary of Staff handbook changes all those in favor please signify by saying I I I all those opposed motion is carried we'll move on to HR approvals um so with retirements there's a lot of great people retiring every time and I don't want to not recognize um so many good staff but um having been at this table longer than anybody else um um uh Logan has such a long history of of great principles and um oh
gosh I was thinking his name in the car and fell out the W no the one before Wall-E oh Scott Scott Mahal Scott mahalic thank you it was right on the tip of my tongue I couldn't figure he had such a culture at at and you know when you go to the back then when we even go to the different graduations you could just feel a difference in the cultures in the high schools and he had the culture he had uh nurtured at at Logan was so awesome and so when he left I'm like oh my gosh those are big shoes to fill but Mr Geneva Co has just stepped up in such a great way he's continue that that cohesiveness this the strong feeling of of a community um at at Logan you can
tell when you talk to the students and the staff there um the support that they all feel for one another and I just um want to just recognize his years of great work that he's done it hasn't been easy to bring so many disparate opinions and parties together but really to build that community and um he's going to leave very big shoes to fill and so I just want to make that comment and congratulations to all the retirements you're here um I would add um W's been a great principal we're very thankful to have him and also excited for him to have this opportunity to retire we all look forward to that I think at some point um at the bottom of the the HR approvals you'll see um three new line items there uh
they indicate total vacancies positions eliminated in new positions or programs uh as a way to respond to some folks curiosity about where we're at in terms of like current vacancies or or other things uh that are going on in the district uh and so each month on the second meeting you'll see this report we'll have that little addendum there uh so folks can kind of keep track of where we're at throughout the school year appreciate that I was going to remove this to say the same thing I really appreciate it and uh for certified staff we're looking at a staff of over 600 uh probably 600 almost 700 when you count every body and support staff is a staff of about 300 you know so if you're looking for percentages or ratios you know that's
where where that stands make a motion um to approve the HR approvals move by Miss second Mr bagneski to approve the HR approvals all those in favor please signify by saying I I I all those opposed motion is carried and we'll move on to approval of the board consent agenda are there any items that the board members want to remove here I'll make a motion to approve the items on the board consent agenda as presented seconded move by Dr move by Dr spray executed by Mr Mana to approve the items on the board consent agenda as presented all those in favor please signify by saying I I all those opposed motion is carried we'll move on to the matters reserve for board to action and o10 operational uh expectation on learning environment and we're here
to approve the recommended changes Dr Engel anything we need to point out um we've removed interpretations like we have been as we go along and updating uh definitions of terms there's a number of those on this one just to be uh accurate uh and also to ensure that we're defining the policy language not the indicators below and so there's some things that are removed some things that are added some things that are clarified questions or comments from the board Dr spr um this isn't exactly just about the the change itself I'm curious about directory information and do we have an optin or op opt out policy on the release of directory information I believe it's opt in here there's a series of things you check at the beginning of the year in Skyward seem to
remember that yeah okay other questions hearing none is there a motion I'll make a motion to approve the recommended changes to the o10 learning envir environment monitoring report template as presented seconded okay move by Mr M seconded by Dr spr to approve the recommended changes to the o10 learning environment monitoring report template all those in favor please signify by saying I I all those opposed motion is carried we'll move on to the policy approval to Grant second reading for o 11 instructional program so uh I did miss the last meeting my assumption is there's some discussion that happened at that meeting is there any more discussion that's needed before we move forward to Grant second and um excuse me second reading for policy approval yeah just yeah I was going to ask about Claire they're
both still here I think we had more less settled on the first option am I correct yes I kept them both just in case there was more dialogue okay thank you so we're talking about in number 14 option one and number 15 option one correct correct okay just so that we are clear how did the executive orders or how do you anticipate the executive orders impacting these statements if at all um there's definitely an intent by the uh executive at the federal level to ensure that we don't talk about diversity equity and inclusion there are school districts that have approached that very conservatively I believe in terms of removing anything anywhere right away scrubbing websites changing position descriptions addressing policy language um you know so there are some who have with their legal councel taken
a very conservative approach and are nervous um you know there's a a website on the Department of Education you know that asks people to you know report incidents where these things are occurring where discrimination is happening um the way our policies are written the way our job descriptions are written I don't see there being any discrimination under federal law we're not advantaging a group based on our policy or job descriptions or practices we're not discriminating against somebody as a result you know it's merely awareness and opportunity everyone receives all of these things equally um and the benefit of these sorts of things extend to all parties regardless of background and so I think if somebody looks at face value and like oh that word is used you're doing the wrong thing they they might misinterpret
what's actually going on here because they haven't taken some time to understand how it's applied at the local level and so I believe that there is pretty minimal risk in terms of us moving forward with this sort of a policy change or some of the other practices that we have we're supporting all students equally in our school district and all students have access to learning support individuals uh in our schools um so I don't see any real issues with this that said somebody may may may try to make an issue out of something you know based on the words that they see um as opposed to a a better understanding and so it could lead to potential scrutiny for sure um we are a school district that absolutely cares about all kids regardless of your
background your race your ethnicity your religion your disability status like every kid gets support in our school district um so uh there's going to be some risk probably for the foreseeable future I also know that while they put up this portal to you know kind of request complaints they also cut the Department of Education in half and so there's no enforcement mechanism left and so you know what are they actually going to be able to do even if they do um Identify some concerns they won't have anybody remain to follow up on that concern to find out what's going on and so it seems like right now the federal governments targeting particular schools that they had particular issues with Columbia University in New York you know being one of them that's been um the subject
of the federal government scrutiny I have a hard time imagining them coming down to school districts the size of cross there's what 95,000 school districts in the country and you know 300 some thousand schools it's a lot to worry about but that's my initial thought I feel comfortable moving forward with stuff here in the school district of Lacrosse pretty much status quo good other questions or comments so the straw pole is that what it's called was people it's number one for both I didn't hear anybody that's what I remember from last time I didn't hear anybody say no well there was a vote for option number one that was approved at the last meeting so this would be the second vote for option number one yes uh to move forward so can I make a
motion to Grant second and final reading and final reading for policy approval to operational expectation oe1 instructional program for uh OE 11.14 option one OE 11.15 option one second move with Dr spr second Sula to Grant second and final reading for policy approval to operational expectation o1 instructional program which would include option one only for number 14 and 15 all those in favor please signify by saying I I all those opposed motion has carried we'll move on to our next uh polic policy approval the second and final reading for policy R excuse me for results R3 involves citizenship and this is where we're just removing I make a motion to approve the second and final reading um for R3 second move by mrla second by Mr mka to Grant second and final reading for policy
approval to results R3 involv citizenship all those in favor please signify by saying I I I all is opposed motion has carried and we'll move on to the linkage summaries any conversation here so um it's some of our linkages I we have a lot of board members attend and some we don't um in the past we used to have people kind of sign up make sure we had at least two or three available I I know Laura does her best she can but I think we as a board should probably do a little better job of placing herself um I appreciate um individuals I wasn't at either one of these and I appreciate Jim being our sole representative at least one of those and I know there have been several linkages where um Dr y
menis was our sole representative but um that would be my only comment is this input is so important and really drives so much of of what we do and and gives us the feedback we need so um how we can make sure that our audiences know that the board cares by having more of us available is important I wasn't at the last two though as much as I'm lecturing I wasn't at the last two so just have a quick question too um do we have any plans of any more perhaps online linkages in the future at all if we had one recently Rec I don't think we've done them historically the board could certainly make that option available if it would if the board things it would be useful for better attendance I I don't
know for me like I lost my car last month for a good month so it was kind of hard to access some the things but I want to try making more of an effort to get to more of these as well but I know there are some people as well that might have similar issues but it's an idea there to miss sula's point I think is so long as board members are responding to uh the linkage uh calendar that Miss starwell sends out and at least attaching their names there that would be really helpful to know who has signed up and who has not when nobody signs up we don't know whether that's people are still going to show up right or they're not showing up and we should be cancelling right so I think
so long as we can be more cognizant of responding to miss Egger Wall's requests on who's attending that would be really helpful Mr magnesi you had your hand up well in terms of the high school staff we had a pretty good discussion as standards based grading and as a followup to that I've had conversations with Jeff and Dr Engle and I think communication is there people in administration are working with teachers to make sure that this gets accomplished great any other comments I kind of wanted to draw attention to uh one of the bullet points from um the high school staff linkage about the concern with the number of behavior and success coaches and as a staffing balance concern I just found that really interesting that it comes out because uh another thing that we
really regularly hear at and maybe it's the difference in the age group as well um that we really regularly hear about is the prevalence and the persistence and the real challenge of behaviors and that it really looms pretty large in many of our teachers days and having having that challenge so there's a there's a tension there obviously I and I just I thought that was worth highlighting so yeah there AR really behavior and success coaches at the high school and middle school levels so for folks and other areas to be commenting on an area they're may be a little less familiar with is interesting to me I'd be much more interested in the elementary staff's perspective on those particular resources as that's where they're primarily located especially as as the and this is just the
note taking and no fault to the note taker of course well but um thinking about staff who work directly with students well behavior and success coaches work directly with students as do principles and Deans and school counselors and social workers if you're in a building you're working directly with students nearly every hour of every day absolutely and it's maybe it's perceptions and communication and you know we've created these positions and folks who are less familiar with them don't understand what they do so then it's you know incumbent on us to ensure that folks are aware of the value these positions provide and for teachers to network with each other and demonstrate the value that they provide as well so maybe it's a communication issue that we can help alleviate I think there is a disparity
of perceptions on that and how that can be mended I think is important because we've heard that message at lots of linkages and I think um how we reconcile that that is a really important I think as we go forward to building um and continue to build positive working relationships and I I would point out I think the support staff on the list of hires it says one full-time District Behavior sport Specialists I thought that is a positive hire or h i mean at least we're looking at it absolutely we're doing our best to respond to um the needs that we're seeing at the elementary level and we're seeing more significant behaviors that have impacted classrooms the program that we had previously put in place to address kind of significant behaviors at the elementary school
we couldn't fill those positions anymore because the um competitiveness for those types of roles disappeared on our end those folks could get much better jobs in the private sector and in other places uh doing similar work and so we had to change our our compensation structure and our criteria for those to start to try and recruit folks we'll know this month if it works as we try and recruit folks to those positions um uh but at the middle and high school level we have a lot of kind of different places and ways to uh address kind of difficult children's needs we don't have a lot of those options of the elementary and so this is our strategy and so we're going to have to keep refining it until we find a method that works um
the again from the high school uh linkage here the the note was made that the Lea had provided a letter um on the standards based grading discussions um in your board update email you mentioned a conversation with them was that the followup that they had been looking for yep absolutely yep we had a good meeting with uh Lea uh folks to talk about standards based grading and the three primary areas of concerns that they had uh we were able to put together a work plan to demonstrate uh resources and opportunities in those areas both you know presently and in the near future and so I think we've um got a good plan for addressing those things um for a lot of the the the strategies that we put in place teachers are at the table
doing the work you know so while we have concerns about report cards it's a collaboration between teaching staff and administrators to find out what's going to work there limited by our systems to a certain extent but uh at the end of the day it's a collaborative Endeavor with the folks who are are doing the work and the folks who are trying to support the work I just want to comment um appreciation to um president yenz for putting this on the agenda under action I um these are really important conversations I we've talked about doing that but it's nice to see that change and I think it says a lot to the people that we do the linkages with how important their input is to us so thank you I agree any other comments how do
you I mean I I was like attending linkages and when I'm not able to be there reading the reports it's always information that's tough to digest and it's frustrating to read I'm just curious what your initial reactions are to reading some of this stuff is I've been in education for a long time in administration for a long time and when when I look at linkage notes it's what I would expect of Staff who have an opportunity to you know address their concerns without anybody there who can do something about it you know the there's it's also a limited audience right or a limited selection of folks who show up you know who who want to be there as a principal I would have my whole staff in front of me and like you know what
are the issues and you know as a principal you could both address those issues and everybody was there with all the perspectives in the room um our linkage attendees um are kind of a self- selected unique group and I appreciate that opportunity to give feedback the venue I appreciate most though is our joint leadership process and our ability to meet with Lea our teachers union and our other staff groups they have representation in all of our business buildings it's a union that is supported strongly by our teachers they vote for it every year at a very high rate 80 90% something like that and has strong membership on top of that um and so that voice that filters up through their organization is the voice that I think is the most valuable to us as
Administration when we're thinking about issues concerns Etc uh and I know the board has an opportunity to meet with Lea the Union as well and I think that's super valuable uh because it's all the perspectives of teachers from all areas in a you know a high school linkage you might get a couple of classroom teachers but you miss out on the voice of our specials teachers our um career and tech ed teachers maybe maybe the coaches because they're all busy that night you know so there's it's a it's a unique subsection of folks and so I think there are other ways that we're also responding to teachers that get a more holistic view uh from across our buildings from across our teaching staff uh that leads to change and we're at the table and we're
talking and I believe if you talk to Lea they would say we have a positive relationship and we're working together um the handbook I think is a great example where we're not trying to autocratically implement you know changes that save the district money or reduce benefits it's a it's a conversation it's dialogue about the benefits of this the drawbacks of that and trying to strike a balance between you know the best working conditions and the limitations that are realistic and so um I appreciate the linkage notes but it's a it's kind of a narrower view uh I think of what's going on than you know talking to a representative group that is able to provide a more holistic View and so when you meet with Lea my belief is that would be more representative of
all of our staff and the same themes will probably be there right challenges with PD implementation whether it's standards based grading or something else you know issues of retention and and attraction as it relates to salaries and benefits you know these themes are perennial they're certainly still there but I think um mediated through that leadership group you'll get better feedback that's my opinion so having supervised in a public organization um a large group of Staff um we didn't have linkages but if we would have I'm sure we would have got feedback like this as well um I think it's important that we is a board here from staff um not sure I agree with um who attends or why they attend um people are there because they're given their time to be there and I
respect that and appreciate it um but when I certainly worked in my job staff had a different opinion on budget and how we spent and there's never enough staff and all those sorts of things that we hear um as well but they have a different job than I did as the administrator and I had a different job J than what the board had and I think understanding we don't always say the same things the same way we but it's important I think that we always do keep our ear close to the ground to the people closest to the people we serve which as our students and hearing what they say um and understanding um that they gave their time off to come and and share that with us is important and then again within the
framework of coherent governance in which we lead we start out all those meetings meetings with and we explain to them what we can do and can't do um but there's always going to be difference of opinion between Administration and and staff because there if we had all the money in the world they'd want you know to hire everybody in the world that wouldn't be enough because the staff because they're right there they see the kids and they want to be able to do more for them um Administration has to live with limits of budgets and all those icky things so there will be I mean I respect the difference and I respect that we hear some negative things but it doesn't lead me to believe that there's something wrong going on so um that would
be my P perspective having gone to linkages for a lot of years and and to support both roles and and functionally our joint leadership is a linkage with administration every single month for our teachers and that has been valuable process that I've really enjoyed Mr bki uh does every school have a leadership team that meets once a month with the principal or the leadership building every building has a building leadership team how it's structured or how often they meet can be different I my sense is they're meeting at least monthly uh sometimes more depending on what their needs are and what they're going through um I just uh was um I overheard a conversation about one of our buildings building leadership team they're talking about cell phone policies and what they want to do for
next year so they're active and engaged it's groundup teacher generated administrative supported strategies and how to best run a building and I think that's great because everyone's well at some of those linkages with staff you kind of hear the person is talking and no one's listening and I don't think that should reach necessarily the board level uh we have to listen but at the same time somehow that should have been hey I'm getting support here in my building Dr FR um looking at the middle school linkage I you know it's not always all all thorns there's some roses here and one I wanted to point out was um comment that was made apparently that we've made a lot of transparency gains over the last few years at a district level and I think considering that
was a real Focus uh of ours at this table it's glad to hear that coming out at the staff level and I in particular appreciated the suggestion about um seeing some communication changes for staff in advance of public announcements of things I think that can be a really powerful idea even if it makes the calendar challenging because they our staff are sometimes that point of first contact with with those exact populations that are difficult to reach and if they get questions about things and they're they've just found out at the same time it's a lot harder for them to to appear you know even even to be you know part of of the changes that are taking place and to to respond intelligently to those questions or to follow up of folks like hey just
want to make sure that you see this email is coming out today exctly exactly I think that's worth considering if we're not already and I don't know that we are that would have been a good question for Nick yeah uh communicating things especially like big things is really tough as soon as you send it to staff the whole world knows so there is no such thing as like two tiers and somebody will keep it private even sending it to administrators like you're not sure how public it will be there are staff in our school district who immediately send stuff to the TVs and so as soon as we put something out to one group it it's to all groups and then that next group feels a griev that they weren't notified or I got notified
through the TV that X was going to happen I like yeah that's wrong you know and so it is a really delicate balance and we will often time emails to go out in 15minute increments so that we can at least say you knew a little bit before the last group but that may be the best we can realistically accomplish depending on the circumstance so I totally sympathetic to that teacher and in a perfect world where everybody's confidential and does the right thing not a problem in the real world where people naturally want to tell folks that are impacted much harder Fair other comments yeah the only thing I'll add too is when particular when we talk to staff um and we hear things that aren't always that we can do anything about as a border
that frustrations from staff they are always presented to us very professionally but what I and if it's something I can't do anything about it helps me understand how hard their jobs are and what they do every day um being a retired person I'm kind of isolated from of those things and so uh again just hearing that and again even if it's something I can't do anything about um it helps me better understand how hard their jobs are and how passionate staff are and um how what kind of great staff we have it just really reminds me of those things so some of these things that aren't always positive I view them in a very positive way anything else is there a motion move to approve second move by Muka second by Dr spr to approve
the linkage summaries as presented all those in favor please signify by saying I I all those opposed motion is carried we'll move move on to our information portion operational expectations monitoring report cover sheet preview Dr Engle um in our conversations about trying to make things more accessible more plain language Etc and thinking about our um monitoring reports is it's text Heavy you have to like dig to find like the graphics and other things that might make it a little more accessible uh we've been playing around with some linkage or some summaries for uh monitoring reports some cover sheets that would help summarize the kind of highlights that we can celebrate uh in our uh monitoring reports and so here's two examples from recent monitoring reports oe4 and oe1 um looking for initial feedback from folks
if this is something you like if you want to see something more something more dense and something that we would like to continue as we move forward so that at the end of the year we would have um you know 12 OE cover sheets and you know two results cover sheets that would highlight the great things that are going on in Lacrosse uh in our school district uh and kind of give people a quick overview like hey these are some things you should know so just looking for initial thoughts and feedback this would be in addition to the report we typically in addition to the report it would be serve as like a cover sheet like hey here's like a once over some great things you should see summary executive summary yes M Mr bagneski
um I think the student learning environment they came back pretty good 94% uh agree or strongly agree one that maybe could improve I think is belonging and I think that goes hand inand with discipline if a St student feels like he or she belongs to that school I think they're much better so somehow they have to feel part of that organization and so that might be something we could work on as a staff or District or whatever totally agree more to the point I think being able to see the data visualization makes it easy to respond a little more directly directly so I like these they're not cluttered so you said these are going to be at the front of the report like the only reports all right um if we're looking at that too
if there's something with what's say as a superintendent you'd say you're passing with exceptions noted is it also a good idea to add those exceptions up on front too not really just as a way to say like hey everything's doing great just say here's what we're doing to improve upon our district that's a good point definitely something to consider you could color code them in in those those you know infographics our goal is largely celebration to go on a treasure hunt here and highlight the great stuff because it is the thing that our community may see more than the monitoring report and so I'd have to think about you know the exceptions noted how we capture that and there fully believe in transparency and and letting folks know you know we've got warts and we're
working on them but we also want to highlight the positive as much as possible to celebrate lacrosse to change the narrative around what's going on in our schools absolutely it's great to get both of them too but I I also think it kind of adds cred to us and we do point out like here's what we're working on it adds more credibility for all of us here and like we've had this discussion beforehand though sometimes we might not get where we want to be we're improving upon it we're still able to build upon ourselves and could almost see like a Next Step section where regardless of the policy even if we're meeting all everything like hey here's where our focus is for this next year yeah any other comments hearing none then we'll move on
to the Wisconsin Association of school boards 2025 delegate assembly report and really this is just um an opportunity for the board members to see what was um adopted and what items may not have been adopted at the delegate assembly uh is there any conversation that the board members would like to have on these so want to thank Mr Mana for stepping in as alternate delegate on the last minute to U represent our district thank you any other comments hearing none then we'll move on to the announcements and I'll turn it over to our student representative starting with Miss Burl yes so I'd say we got kind of a lot of interesting stuff going on at Central um this week and in the past couple weeks so we got spring Sports Turing up I know track
which a lot of central students are in already has a meet this weekend um I believe it e but I'm not entirely sure on that one uh we also have all City strings tomorrow uh with orchestr from Central and Logan high schools and a good chunk of central band students um accompanying them um today for St Patrick day there was a gold hunt Runway student Senate which is basically a scavenger hunt in the school uh the winter got candy and unfortunately I wasn't able to go because had a band lesson but um it's always great to like see them organizing stuff like this always really fun I think they get good participation out of it too um we also have a new crub a new club creative writing Club starting up and their first meetings
this Wednesday so um yeah I don't think there's been like a lot of like English or literature Focus clubs uh like obviously there's book club but um always great to like see like students able to find opportunities that better match their interests um and then on March 12th we also had the League of Women Voters come in to hold a meeting with all seniors regarding registering to vote which I also did not attend because I had a college class that day but um just thought I'd mention it because I know we've talked about like border registration is some things we want to see from like seniors here before so did you at least get registered after uh I'm not old enough to vote so yep if I was I would but soon enough y um
things at Poly Technic are still very fun we also had a presentation on registering to vote albeit a much smaller presentation I can guarantee um Pi Day was very fun um students went through a variety of stations which ended in every single teacher getting pied by at least one student um and then in turn some students getting pied as well it was real fun um I will said it once and I'll say it again senior projects are super fun I actually just received an email PDF proof for a 20page Zen uh which is an independent publishing that a student compiled of horror stories and pieces of art both locally and nationally um submitted pieces which is really cool um NHS craft fair I have found will be May 3rd um this will be open to
the community and we will start receiving submissions very soon for um uh booths both from students and community members um uh today uh WL UWL exchange students from Japan um came in and talked with middle schoolers this is something that occurs every year it's a really fun um kind of immersive experience um Unfortunately they did not uh present to high schoolers today or this year um but it's always fun to see them come in uh and then graduation is getting closer and closer which I mean it is for everyone but it's still scary and yeah that's all I have uh Logan we've got a lot of the same exciting stuff going on Spring sports starting I know softball started today and there are also a lot of people in track so that I've been hearing
a lot about track um the ACT is on Tuesday so that's fun I don't have to deal with that anymore but I know everybody else is not happy but it is what it is um the senior countdown was sent out so just all the important dates for seniors so yeah we're getting close to the end the the cap and gown uh will be distributed soon um we're also yes all City strings tomorrow uh should be a good performance playing some music from like the Pirates of the Caribbean which is very fun um there's also a band concert this Saturday at Logan middle and the uh jazz band is preparing to go to the Winona Cotter Jazz Festival on April 5th which is the same day as I feeds that will be a busy day but
we'll get to play for a clinic and get some helpful tips and yeah excellent thank you very much we'll turn it over to Mr bagneski for the ces4 board of control meeting update our last board perfect update we'll move on to miss bodal for the lacrosse public Education Foundation update no updates today all right as for my updates we do have four l ages that are coming up this Wednesday we have one with the lacrosse Education Association at their offices at crew uh March 26th we have a board of education linkage with Central High School students the 27th the next day with Logan High School students April 4th is the linkage with the Polytech students so uh again I would encourage everybody to respond to miss Stager wall so that she knows who will be
present from the board uh that would be really helpful in order to ensure we have as many board members as possible or whether we need to cancel it because nobody can attend Mr bagneski uh another question on those linkages and the notes do the building principles get those notes on the linkages they're publicly available but they're not sent specifically I don't have a distribution list no and then uh the last item I have on my announcements is April 1st even though it is April fools it happens to be the election day so please make sure you are out and voting that is not an April Fool's joke we really would like to have as many people out voting uh on that day so please make sure you you take some time there's one L candidate
yes and there is one less candidate that uh Mr Hunt announced his intention to not run anymore uh Dr Engel your announcements um our district visioning steering committee has met twice so far uh Miss Sula is our board rep and has been doing a great job providing context and ideas for how to move forward it's been a nice group of about 10 folks and uh been putting put together uh survey focus groups and uh we'll be working on a calendar here this week and hopefully uh collect information throughout April and May an opportunity to analyze and bring forward stuff to the school board this summer so very exciting making progress uh the only other thing I would offer up is that while there does seem to be some snow to the north of us on
Wednesday it will not probably be sufficient in Lacrosse to close school we'll monitor it though that's good all right and then with that we'll turn it over to our B debriefing I believe Mr Albert uh yeah um um I always enjoy the showcases those are kind of the you know thing I look forward to before the meeting gets started um I was if he was still here I was going to mention that I was a my minor was Intel communication so if you ever need somebody to work the camera I'm so the guy one could turn into two but um I think you know it's almost been a year since since uh I became on the board and I think these meetings have like drastically changed in the positive uh there's you know a lot
less disagreement um which is good too but um just the way everybody's treating each other is fantastic um so that's great um one thing that we need to work on is obviously linkages we've all talked about that and trying to get better at signing up for them and showing up when we do sign up for them so that's all I got thank you and so we will be moving into a workshop here in this room uh after our adjournment so we can take five minutes and then be back in here for our workshop and we are jour [Music]
