001All right. Hi, I'm Joe. I was the FBA programs director. I graduated this past Saturday and uh I will be competing at NLC this year. Uh this year Jonah and I we presented a digital video production which is like a two-minute interview about why FBA is beneficial to students and why they should join but also to highlight what an alum from any FBA chapter has done with their prior experiences and how they've applied that to the real world. And we got first in our regionals and also first in our state and we're hoping to place at nationals this year in San Antonio. Uh, I'm Dana Wolf and Jacob, Jonah and I presented a community service project at state. We placed fourth and to explain it a little bit. We analyzed our chapter events and for
002our community and we picked the two blood drives. So for the community, we collected total of 60 units and so we'll be presenting that at NLC and hoping to move on. And then for visual design, Maya and I placed fifth missing NLC by one place and we presented a hand like crafted booth. >> Hi, I'm Addie. I thought after I graduated you would have to see me. Uh I'm standing here as a national qualifier because I placed fourth in my accounting test and then I'm also highlighting some of the awards that our chapter received. We were third for outstanding chapter which is receiving points based on how our students placed in the top 10 for all of their events. We are fourth in market share which is an award based on percentage of members in
003or percentage of the school that is in FBA. So we are fourth for that in small schools around the state. And then we received gold seal chapter status which is only awarded to nine chapters in the state regardless of school size and we were one of the nine. >> And then from uh state just recapping that out of our students that went we had nine that placed in the top 10 whether it was individuals or groups which was incredible success from our past years which is what helped us to earn that outstanding chapter that third place. Uh we also have Miss Addie who was uh competing in who's who. Uh so within the state of Wisconsin, each chapter can submit uh whoever is their most involved member. Uh so ours was Addie and she placed
004sixth out of the entire state for that which is an incredible accomplishment. And then Addie is also a fourtime national qualifier. So all four years she was a national qualifier which is an incredible feat. uh since I've been here, she was our first national qualifier and now four years later, she's continued that which is incredible. Uh we also have Joseph. This is his second. [applause] And with Joseph, this is his second year qualifying in a row for nationals. Uh again, an incredible feat and uh very proud of him and Jonah for all that they've done with it. Uh, and then Miss Payeyton, this is her first year qualifying, but she did attend nationals last year, so she knows what's going on, knows what to expect, and she's competing. Uh, the one other thing I wanted
005to touch on, uh, Jonah, who couldn't be here tonight, he is also competing, uh, with Payton and with Joe, but he also has a capstone that he completed, which was a year-long project. Uh, he chose to select our, uh, engagement within our chapter and how we can engage our FBA members more. So he was only one of sorry three at the state level who competed or completed that this year uh because it is a very long enduring task to do that and he'll be having his capstone judged at nationals. So we're looking forward to experience that and wish everyone the best of luck. >> And then to kind of just circle back to NLC and the reason why we're here. So the first day June 29th in San Antonio we'll kick it off with an
006opening session. I went there last year. We started off in a giant conference room that we could have fit the school and some more into. It was huge. There was over easily 10,000 people there, I would say. >> Yeah, it's ridiculously large. >> 10,000 people there. Biggest TV screens I've seen in my life. And just insane amount of people. A lot of energy just to kick it off, have a good start. And then the next day we start competing. We compete from like 8 to 12 and well 12:00 at noon, 8 in the morning. And then it's just from there it's kind of a matter of what we can do in our day to make our schedule as fun and as well as engaging as possible. We typically go to like workshops to overall learn
007about leadership skills and like networking. Also, there's this interesting thing with every state having pins where we trade pins with everyone in the state. Joan and I last year got 48 of the 50 states. We missed a few, but it happens. And then um hopefully the next day after that, if someone were to make it to the final round, they would compete the next day. Hopefully some of us do. I think we will. I really hope we do. And then after that little time slot we have there, we plan on just kind of exploring San Antonio. The Alamo is brought up. The Riverwalk was brought up. We're still kind of discussing. Nothing's really set in stone yet, but we plan to make the most of it. And then the closing session would be Thursday, right?
008>> Yep. >> Thursday. Then that's just a big celebratory, hey, good job guys. And if we placed, hopefully we get to go on stage, which if you've ever seen the stage, it's quite intimidating, but hopefully we get up there. And then I would just like to say on behalf of all of us, thank you for all the support throughout the previous years, four years, two years, and every event and year we've had in FBA. Thank you. >> Thank you. Thank you. >> Congratulations and good luck. So hello, my name is Sophie Whiteer. I am the 2026 2027 first vice president for loyal FCCLA. I competed in interior design with Maline Smurka. Hi. We received gold at regionals and second state and now we are advancing to nationals. We'll be going to Washington DC for nationals
009July 6th through 10th leaving roughly at midnight. There will be leadership activities, state meetings, bread talks, and breakout sessions in addition to our competitions. We'll also be doing some sightseeing such as going to Arlington National Cemetery at museums and some other sites. We got to this point through a lot of hard work and dedication to our projects and chapter. The qualifiers had started working on their projects in September. And after reaching each leadership conference, they have made corrections and improvements to each of their projects. These are Meline and my boards uh for our interior design project. Our scenario was Bloom and Root. We had to make a plant shop. So you can see there's different rooms and all the furniture and flooring and walls we had. We had to do this in 900 square ft.
010We want to thank you all for helping us cover the expenses and to make up the rest of the cost. We we have been doing some fundraisers. For example, our seasonings fundraiser. We also have our brat fry coming up next Thursday at Loyal City Hall. We hope you can make it there to support our chapter and our trip to nationals in Washington DC. Thank you. >> Hi. As Sophie mentioned, um we did a star this year interior design. So many hours on it were spent planning it out and I'm proud to say that it paid off. We placed second in state and qualified for nationals. Um, it wasn't just us though. We had an insane amount of star event participants and red talks. But, um, these are the people that placed and I'm very proud
011of them. Um, it's such a huge opportunity um, to go to DC and I'm very very thankful for you all for supporting us. um we'll be able to outreach, talk to other chapters, learn new stuff for our chapter and then bring that back for our future. So, thank you. >> Hi, my name is Malia Smith and I'm now an alumni of High School. Um this is my second year making it to the nationals. I went my sophomore year to Seattle and that was a really awesome experience and I'm going to event. early childhood education. And so what that event entails is that I can make an awesome binder um full of lesson plans, uh different development stages for early childhood um teaching and for students. And then I also get a case study day of
012with a resource container full of materials. Then I make a lesson plan the day of right then and there. So it's a lot of pressure, but it's been really rewarding as it's helped influence my future career choice as an elementary teacher. Last time um in Seattle, I made top 10 and after um all the scores were um put in, I ended up getting seventh place in the nation for my event. So, I hope to do my best at nationals and possibly have similar success. I just want to thank the school board for approving our field trip um to DC. It's very far away. Um and I just um super excited for all these other members even though I won't be here. I know the impact of MLC for other people. you get to learn a
013lot about FCCLA as an organization, leadership tools, and new community service projects and organizations that we can hopefully futureely um support. So, I hope this trip positively impacts and hopefully it can bring something back to our chapter. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> I just thought it would be good to show you what the kids Oops. You could put that on the table. >> Show you what the kids have to put together. It's not just going and doing a presentation first. >> So, this is my store event. Um, it's called repurposing redesign. So, you take something that was going to get thrown out or, you know, recycled or not used and you make it into something usable. So, I made this suitcase into this table. Shout out mom for helping me do that. And then
014my board with all of the super fun info on it. Um, it took me like 2 hours and 5 minutes just building, but with the planning, the making the board and everything, it took a lot more time than that. Otherwise, just keep it short. >> First first time qualifying. >> First time qualifying for nationals. I only lost like four points, I want to say. And I originally did not make it into the thing. I placed fourth, I want to say, but two of the other people dropped out. So, I'm gonna go. I'm hopefully gonna fix those four points and see how we can make it at rationals. >> Thank you. >> I figured we can find a suitcase to haul our suitcase. I'm not worried about the suitcase. I'm worried about the big board. >>
015I'll call the airlines up carrying the bag and stuff. I know we did that last year >> and I have a big bag. >> Hi. Hi. I'm Conary Smith and I'm going to nationals from July 6th to July 10th. I'm going with my partners and we competed in the star event management level one and we made a hypothetical Disney dance. We had to figure out roles for volunteers fees and so much more. Thank you for letting us go out of state and competing at nationals. Hello, my name is Kendall Hogy and I compete in the star event management with my partners Lawrence Marco and Katarina Smith. We received gold at state and placed first at state. Sorry, regionals. We had to plan and organize an event using a complex rubric for and raise money for
016a nonprofit organization. I'm very grateful to have this opportunity to go to DC and compete at nationals. Thank you for listening. >> Hello, my name is Marco. I compete in event management level one with my partners Kendall Huggy and Kes. We placed gold at nationals and regionals. We had state and state and regional sorry we had to follow a complex rubric that was very difficult and raised money for our event that was hypothetical. Thank you for letting us have the chance to go to Washington DC and thank you for your time. It's a pretty intense folder. Um those are seventh graders and they put this together. Um I know they were working on it last September already. Menus for their snacks. I mean the whole thing they could have they could have carried out conducted
017the event. Um n level one is middle school. That's they set it up. Level one is middle school, two is freshman, sophomore, and juniors and seniors are level three. Once you get to high school, you have to conduct the event. And I think these girls are planning on doing one next year and actually conducting the event. they'll jump ahead of the of the requirements a little bit, but they spent just hours on it. Um, and this is our community service one that a sixth grader did. It was our Where's the slots? Um, she they did a project on our ice cream sales. Um, I think they sixth graders. I They did an amazing job. They redid it. Um, we just finished our last part of an ice cream sale today, so we should have about
018$900 for the um for the food pantry. It's about $100 a month, maybe a little bit more than that. Um, like as the girls said, we certainly appreciate the support you you've you've given us. Um, in FCCLA land, we have basically two from each event area from that move to state from state to national. There's a few of them and I think repurpose and redesign I think they're taking three now. So there was only one that had a drop to get it but if you're one of the top runnerups and someone can't go and there's some schools that won't take their kids they they won't take them in summer. So, um, a few of them have gotten moved up through the years, but um, we have three seventh graders, a sixth grader leaving [clears throat]
019and, um, two two sophomores, a junior, and a senior. Ken Kurs will also be going and competing in some events there, and Malia and Ken will also be student helpers with the with the judging competition. >> [clears throat] >> Um it it's it is a neat event for those kids. Uh they they see so many things. We don't have our exact itinerary done, but uh we travel on Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday they'll compete. I don't remember exactly which ones are competing which days. But um then Thursday is kind of a um a day for um they've got some the organization has it's about 10,000 kids that are going to be there as well. Um they've got some events planned and then Friday morning they'll announce the top 10 in each of the areas. The top
02010 get called up to stage and then and we've had top 10 now the last few years. Three years in a row I think we've had somebody in the top 10. Um, we've not had anybody finish in the top three. So, that's that's our goal is getting some podium time and pull them up and put them on the blocks. And it's it's really kind of cool um the way they do that. Um, I guess that that that that's it. Like I said, I just I know we took more time, but I just wanted you guys to see what those kids what kind of time those kids put into those projects. And and um it's it's quite impressive. And a few of them fell just [clears throat] short. Um there was another interior design team that
021missed it by a half a point. They were half a point behind you, I think. So it's it's tight, but if it's two, it's two. >> Can I can I ask what takes a point off of something? >> Um there's this wonderful rubric that they mention. It might be they missed something in their presentation or I should have brought one of those with me. Um maybe they didn't quite explain something. R you don't have one in here, do you? Um they maybe didn't quite um carry out the with the u interior design. Maybe they didn't like the way it was laid out or they they missed something or they didn't do their budget or they didn't do um what do you guys remember what you lost points for? >> So kind of how the judge
022is. >> Yeah. And it's it's judges. Um and you know, most of the time it's volunteer judges. We're not experts in those areas. Um I know the interior design judge of judges the last couple years has given kids fits. Um it's being handled. [laughter] >> It's being handled. We'll just put it that way. You know, sometimes these sometimes they forget that these are high school kids, sometimes middle school kids that they're dealing with. They're not experts. They're not college kids. They're doing this bes, you know, they've probably taken a class to do some of this stuff, but they're they're doing this on their own time in addition to probably sports and maybe a part-time job in other organizations and and sometimes and sometimes that gets forgotten. So like on Derek on some of the things
023it's like out of 10 points and if it's very good you get either nine or 10 >> you know and if it's down the line it's just judges preference. >> Tom has judged >> regional a few years um Mr. Linder judged for us um in February. So we certainly somebody did ask [laughter] >> reuse of a >> repurpose and redesign. >> Yes. Oh, I did have a a note teacher, how did you get your superintendent there? I said I asked and I guess I found with with so many things it's like just ask ask questions, ask to do something. Um, but yeah, Brock Pride next Thursday at city hall. We hope you can make it and help support our our trip to Washington DC. >> I just want to say thank you to you and
024to you as well, Mr. Schiller. I mean, we talk a lot about these programs and you guys have come. It's been a really fun year to watch all of you guys and just all the accomplishments and and um it's always really exciting to hear your your achievements that you have. So, thank you to to all of you guys, but but as the adviserss as well, because >> it's a lot of fun. >> It's it it gets it gets a little much sometimes, [laughter] >> you know, we're in the middle of this stuff. We could we could do FBLA and FCCLA full time. You know, it getting having to teach the classes sometimes interrupts. [laughter] >> That that's that's all part of it. And um you know, we both got alumni. I relied Noel helped so
025much this year with with things. She was willing to do that and come back. And Malia is the same except she's going to go a little farther away than than Noel [clears throat] did. But um it's it's great to get the support. um you know of of the alumni coming back and and helping and seeing how it's benefited them. That's that's the payoff. That's the big payoff. >> Thank you guys very much and good luck to you. >> Yeah, good luck. Enjoy it. >> I think you can see just what you presented presented at the chamber banquet here in Loyal. Um FBLA did after CCLA. I think it's been a little competition between all three of them and FFA. It really raised the bar the last two or three four years. So, >> thank you
026guys. Congrats. Good luck. >> We will move on to 5.2. Accept resignation. Uh sad to announce, dear members of the school board and administration, please accept this letter as my formal resignation from my position as teacher at Loyal School District effective at the end of the 25 2025 2026 contracted school year. This decision was not made lightly as it's been a privilege to work with the students, staff, and families with the district. I'm grateful for the opportunities I've had to grow professionally and personally during my time in Loyal. I will do everything possible to ensure a smooth transition transition before my departure and will assist in any way that may be helpful. Thank you again for the opportunity to serve the district. Sincerely, Kristen Akert, high school special ed teacher. So very sad to see
027her go. Um, wish her well, wish her good luck in your future endeavors. She'll be missed. Has >> the position been posted on the weekend? >> Has been. Yes. >> Is that Do you anticipate that as a tough position to fill? >> Yes, I do. >> So, >> how long has Kristen been here? >> Three. Three. >> Three or four? Yeah. Uh, any other questions on the resignation? Need a motion to accept resignation. >> I just want to thank her for her time. I'll make a I'll make a motion to approve. >> Need a second? >> Second. >> Motion and a second. All those in favor? >> Motion passes. 5.3 approval of administration contracts. So, administration contracts 2% raise. Uh like everyone else, um I think that's the main thing. So, you guys have anything
028else? Uh would recommend the approval of administrative contracts? I think this was uh we tabled this multiple times because there was a couple of things we we asked as a board to have follow up on and it was all followed up and uh it's all been taken care of. So is there a motion to approve the administration contracts as presented? >> I'll make a motion. >> Second motion and a second. All those in favor. >> Motion carries. >> Approve the support staff letters of intent. So, we are still working in progress of that, but our anticipation is to have these handed out before they go home on Monday. Um, if that does not happen, we will have them handed out. We'll mail them out, but our goal is to have this basically all figured out
029in the next day or two and we'll get those handed out at least specific specifically for sure. Um my recommendation is to approve the support staff letters that >> any questions support staff are there. >> I'm going to say 28. >> I I was going to say 30. So in that 30-ish area >> it's 20. >> I'll move to approve the support staff members of intent. >> Motion >> second >> and a second. All those in favor. >> Motion carries. 5.5 discuss the possible action on fall and winter coaches. >> Thank you. >> Yep. So it's that time of year. uh where we are looking at our sports seasons already for next year uh specifically for fall and winter. Um there really hasn't been any turnover for head coaches. So tonight we're kind of seeking
030approval um for the following coaches. Would you like to do them individually or all together? >> All together. >> Okay. Um so for fall coaches we have Hannah Olsen for cross country. We have Jaden Driggs for volleyball and then we have Chris Litner for football. Um cheerleading would be a co-head coach with Aaron Chapo and Terara Reef. And then our winter sports coaches um girls basketball Mike Rereath and boys basketball Brandon De Smith. under football. Can you explain the the change from the co-head coach to only one head coach? >> Yes. So, um Dean Lintner at the end of the season decided to um not want to return as a co-head coach. So, that would be um the change from co-head coach to um just Chris as our head coach. Do we see that as
031an issue at all with uh with everything else we've got going on? Chris just explained to me how that model is going to work because we we went to a co-head coach because he was going to take some pressure off of you. Now we're going back to a sole head coach. So explain to me how you see the ball working. receive the fall working with delegation to somewhere assistance um and making sure that they have it covered if I'm right there at at the start or or whatever. So that has been a discussion um since Dean has stepped down as co as co-head coach um he's still going to volunteer and help out whenever he can. Um, but I think we have things established where we have coordinators that can take and go with it
032if I if I get called away or if I'm a little late to call out. So, do >> you anticipate having the same assistant coaches or similar assistant coaches that you've had? You have any out there? >> Uh, we had one uh Mr. for Kyle Mass due to his taking his masters and doing his practicum is stepping away also. Um so we have myself uh Cody helping Josh maybe Travis and >> I don't know yet. So those four dean is a volunteer five >> yes. So six um we may be looking for a someone to replace Kyle. So at least for this next year >> and assists and coaches be hired later. >> Yes. Yes. Y >> and it really I don't see any change from the other sports either besides the one I just
033mentioned with assistant coaches, but we wanted to get this done so that these coaches can work with their athletes starting right away in June and we're getting into July for the fall anyway. So >> because there is no contact days anymore, they've lifted that. >> It's right. Every day is a cont. Yep. Can be. So, >> any other questions, comments regarding the fall winter coaches? >> Look for a motion to approve as presented. >> I'll make a motion to approve. >> Motion's been made. I need a second. I'll >> Seconds. All those in favor? >> I opposed. >> N motion carries. >> Move [clears throat] to 5.6. Discuss with possible action on the WIAA membership for 2026 27. Um, so this is an annual renewal with the WIAA. So it pretty much locks us in
034for the sports that uh we currently have this year for next year. Um so those sports would be cross country which is a co-op u football which is a co-op volleyball, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls wrestling which is also a co-op um with NGL. Um and then our spring sports we have baseball which next year will be a full program co-op. Um golf which will always also be a full program co-op. Track and field. and then softball which is also a co-op. So we are approving those sports for our membership for WIA in the years 26 27. Any questions regarding the WA membership? Motion to approve. >> I'll make a motion. >> Second. >> Motion and a second. All those in favor? >> Opposed? Motion carries. 5.7 discuss the social media report card.
035Uh so our social media report card for February through April 2026. Um Facebook total followers of 3600. That has a growth of plus 100. Um so average so it has grown it's is a positive average monthly viewers is just under 43,000 viewers so that has continuously has grown also Instagram total followers is 920 we were a plus a plus 12 in that in that span of February through uh April um average monthly reach of Instagram Instagrammers are 2367. So, um it's been a very good thing for us to tell our story to our community and other communities. Um no matter where we go, uh hear a lot of com compliments on our our [clears throat] social media report or pages. So, >> I agree. Um, I would like to thank um, Kayla Fitzell for helping
036us out with that and um, our schools for uh, edu our social media person helps us out. So questions on that? just point out one thing. Looking at the chart with all the schools listed, it's interesting [clears throat] that we're the like the 54th school listed based on our enrollment, but looking at our um I was just kind of curious how do we stand as far as our viewers and I believe we're somewhere between 25 and 30 as far as viewers. So there's a lot of bigger schools that aren't having the impact or the reach is through social media as what our school is. So yeah, that's >> you know anyone who's contributing articles or information um photos whatever it might be to that seems like it's a pretty active uh site and I would
037say continue and do more and let's get out as much as we can telling our story in any aspect that we can in our district. like to thank the cooperation of our staff to help out with that. Also, any other questions on that? >> 5.8 approve the 6603 agreement for the IMC director with Granton. >> So, this is a Granton employee that they share with us 50/50. Um, we've been doing this for a number of years. Uh, this Mr. Heidi has done an excellent job here for us in our library and getting our IMC where it needs to be. So, [clears throat] um I strongly recommend that we continue that agreement for next year 26 27 school year. >> Nothing's changed language wise, right? It's the same exact thing we've done forever. >> Correct. >>
038Yeah. I'll make a motion to make do the 6603 again for the IMC director. >> Motion made a second. >> Second. >> Motion and a second. All those in favor? >> Motion carries. 59 approval of the school-based mental health service agreement. >> So, we started in uh February. Um we've had Children's Wisconsin come in. Uh we have a therapist that comes in to meet with students. Um we provide her a space um and they take it from there. Uh it is a very convenient um counseling for our students and our families. Um just in the few months that they have been here. Um just a couple key highlights are over 100 total sessions completed from February through April. um strong partnership with the school staff, positive therapist feedback, uh services continue continuing in June and
039August. Um and very excited for a full school year in 2627. Um very fortunate to have this as an assistance for our counselors and another person for our our children to see, talk to, um could help me. >> Doesn't cost us anything. Correct. Yeah. >> Okay. Do you know how often they're here? >> Two days a week. >> Okay. >> Do they just use the space like the elementary office or like what space do they use? >> Um, >> traditionally they use the middle school. There is a room upstairs in the middle school that they go to. >> Oh yeah. On top. There's a little office up there like I call it fourth floor. >> It's like four steps up. So they've been using that and it's been a very good location for >> if
040students want to use it. How do you know how they like do they sign up for a time slot or do they know when this person is coming? >> Yeah, so there is a referral process that obviously includes the parents as well just to make sure that that consent is given. Um and then um she does set up a schedule and let the teachers know when she needs to meet with specific students. She usually goes to the classroom um meets them by the door and then kind of checks in as they walk up to that room. And then yeah, it's been very very good and very positive. >> You too feel it's beneficial? >> Absolutely. >> Good. >> I don't see any reason why we wouldn't continue. I'll make a motion to approve the um
041schoolbased mental health services agreement. >> Motion's been made with a second. Motion and a second. All those in favor? >> I motion carries. 5.10 discussed with possible action of the huddle agreement. >> So real quick, uh Mr. St. take this. But what it is is is uh where we do our filming of our athletic events, um football, basketball, volleyball. Um there's a little bit of a tweak for this coming year. So um it has been very user friendly for us. Uh if you want to take the lead from here, Mr. Stebower. do that. [clears throat] Um, so our previous agreement with Huddle uh does expire at the end of the year. So this is a three-year deal. Um, and basically what that guarantees is that we lock in our price for 3 years and it
042does not change. Um, it is a little bit of increase from our last um time that we made our agreement. Um, last time was 8,000. This time it'll be 10,000 um, per year. And then I would say that there has been a lot of really nice upgrades. A lot of what we see is like a better camera quality. So like when Zeleleski is not in our gym or here for football um on the field um what'll happen is this is where fans watch our games. Um so we do have a huddle fan account and our game stream um there if Celestei is not present. Um along with that there's a lot of really nice coaching tools like they do the stats uh they report you know all the things and within 24 hours they kick
043that back to our coaches um as kind of a rundown um from the game. So it is a very very nice program. Um and every school excuse me every school in the Clover Belt also uses this um with the exception of I believe is granted. Um >> Mr. Interesting. Um, if you're somebody that's watching at home, you don't have to pay a subscription to use Huddle, right? >> You do not. Um, but that is an option. So, some schools in the Clover Belt actually do have to pay for that. I think Thorp is currently the only one. Um, but that is something that has been brought to our, you know, athletic director meetings on where we kind of stayed and I just think it's a nice option for free. >> Yeah, agree. >> For our,
044you know, fans to be able to check in and watch. Um, so but yeah, some schools do make you pay. Um, like Thor for if we have a playoff game, I think then the rules are that you really have to. Um, but yeah, for a normal, you know, regular season game, no fee when we're playing here in the wild. >> So if Zeleleski is here, then they don't record. >> We do. Yes. Um, I would say Zeleleski just has a little better following and it's nice because you have the the commentator there as well. Um, and at least like our current view, I would say the camera, you know, the Zeleleski camera is obviously a little nicer than our huddle focus camera. Um, but they did make some upgrades, so I'm excited that it'll look
045a lot better than it currently does, but probably still can't compare that to. Um, so another thing with the package, um, last time we renew it, it came with two cameras. Um that would be the one that's on the press box right now outside and then the one that we have in our large gym. Um this new package though allows us to get an additional um camera for still that $10,000. Um so we had some discussions today. Um they do have like a static camera um and we're trying to figure out ways where we can stream our lower level games in our middle school gym or small gym, sorry. Um and still be able to get that out there. So more than likely uh that is the option that we would go with just so
046we would be able to then you know share those games as well. >> It' be nice to see some of the >> Yes. Or do we >> um they do have like a portable option and and Mr. Lner and I met with our huddle rep I believe a week or two ago and we were really thinking baseball and softball um but he made it sound like it's not as good if it's portable and then you know connection issues. So uh we did explore that a little bit but at this time we believe [clears throat] that the best option for us would be that static camera and small ch. >> So there are three levels. Level two is 10,000. Level three is 15,000. Level four is 25,000. So >> what do you get with the other
047levels? [laughter] >> So there's a lot. Um they do have these like I they call them Titan wearables. So, it's kind of like if you're watching Monday Night Football and they like literally show you what everybody's doing like on the field or on the court. I mean, that's pretty next level stuff, but there there are a lot of options that um kind of justify the amount of spending, just not financially responsible for us to be looking into that at this time. >> Yeah. >> Um so, that's why we're looking at the silver bottom level um for this. And then just for clarity, um we did ask a couple questions. Depending on what happens, you know, in three years from now, um they said that there would not be like any breakup contract fee. It would
048not be more. It would just be that $10,000. And then if we were potentially a consolidated district, we wouldn't pay 20,000. We would be one district paying10,000. So tonight we're approving this for Loyal. And then at some point, Greenwood will be approving this too. Um, so really between the two of us, we are playing paying $20,000 >> Currently, yes. >> Okay. >> And if we were together, it would obviously be 10. >> But 3 years from now, level two was 12,000. We're going to pay 12, >> right? Price goes up >> because two years ago, we paid 8,000. Now we're paying 10. >> I think we're locked in for three years, >> right? So, okay. You just you had just said in three years it'll be 10 again. >> I'm sorry. Sorry, I meant that
049third year because that third year would be 2829, correct? >> Which would be potentially that first year of >> whatever happened. >> So that's what I meant by that. Sorry. >> Any questions on the huddle agreement? Need a motion? I'll make a motion that we approve the health agreement for the three-year term at the silver level 10,000. >> Motion need a second. >> Second. >> Motion and a second. All those in favor? >> I. >> Motion carries. 5.11 discuss state surplus agreement. >> Um so we talked last week in the joint board meeting. Um Wisconsin lawmakers rejected a$ 1.8 8 billion dollar budget surplus bill that would have provided income tax rebates. Um $600 million for public schools special ed funding and an end to taxes on cash tips and overtime. Um it was not
050passed. You you see it keep coming up in the news. Um they just had a poll I believe yesterday um with a lot of I don't know if you say momentum but just saying that legislators agreed that they should have passed it. You have people out there that say they should have passed it. Um but they didn't. Uh and like I like we said last week um I don't think it's dead in the water. I think um if if people in our community would reach out to Representative Karen Herd or Senator Jesse J uh Jesse James uh and voice your opinion on it, I I think that is important. Uh Representative Herd is on the finance committee, joint finance committee. So that is she runs with some weight there in that in that uh committee.
051So, um I don't know if you want to talk anything more about that or >> I think it's important to remember this is surplus money that is literally sitting in a bank account right now that is taxpayer of Wisconsin money. And on Monday when they when they had the press release, it it seemed all but a slam dunk and by Wednesday politics were played and it failed. I mean, it was approved by a Republican House Senate and the governor was on board with it. Um, it's it's kind of frustrating. It's, you know, that that special education money is was was there and we all know how much special education costs and we could have certainly every district in the state. Um, so I I do encourage people to reach out to the legislature and and
052start questioning why why this is the way it is. >> What percentage did we lose? But it's not passing. >> We didn't lose anything. >> What did we get? >> What would we gain? I do believe it was like $50,000. >> Right around that amount. Yes. Okay. >> For our each each district had a variance of >> what it was. So 4849 right around that $50,000 mark like I said last Wednesday um would have solved our problem but it would have helped us some right and it would I believe it was set up where it was a gradual increase in the special ed so it was going to go up like 42% then 45% move it upwards um >> correct so yeah just a reminder I guess as we talk about that that you know
053our district is you know has about 1.1 million dollars that we spend on special education when we're only getting, you know, not quite 40% of it funded. That means 60% is that comes from our general fund. So, >> so really 32% >> 32%. They were looking to bump it to 38 with this >> and then the next bianual they were looking to do a 42% to 45%. >> Right. Um, so and you got to remember uh in your at the end of the year your transfer um you know two years ago we were at 350,000 that needed to transfer from fund 10 to close out and even out and balance out um the special ed fund and um fund 27 and this year it last year it was 600 and this year it's going to
054be 670. So, you know, that's that's that's a lot. So, >> it must be I I was reading something today that actually led by Republicans that they there's they're trying to bring it back, get another session set up and bring it back. I'm sure that's going to be something they're be looking at uh soon if if it can garner enough support to both sides to to uh help us out with that. >> Mhm. >> Anything else on that? >> No. We'll move into 5.12 discussion of the school district consolidation agreement. Um so last week we had our joint board meeting. Um a lot of discussion on um the three pathways. Um >> Colton, did you know we're talking about consolidation? [laughter] >> Wanted to bring you up to speed. >> Sure. Thanks. So there has
055been talk, you know, uh do we look into pathway two a little bit more kind of try to develop maybe a more of a a plan for that? So would at least look at that and have an a better idea of where that situation is. So um I've been doing some researching. Um Mr. Green and I met Touch Point yesterday. we will continue meeting and working on that and we will very soon get our principles counselors involved. So kind of going from in that direction for now but there has been a lot of discussion on which pathway. Um that one seems like it's the most um the biggest one with the most questions logistics wise. So >> yes, did HS did you guys talk to HSR and Myron about rule planning? >> Mr. Green has
056talked to Tim Rupert at HSR and he's in the middle of getting that situated of Yes. going through and then having meetups and then yes figuring that out. I guess for me I you know I left last week's joint meeting feeling uneasy and like I feel like every time we are in joint meetings we have great discussion but I feel like we're spinning our wheels a little bit. Um you know I'll be honest right now where I'm at I I haven't had a whole lot of people support any people support a two school campus. Um, I think last week during public comment, Mrs. Zarkey had a lot of questions from our staff and I think those questions are also echoed by our community how that would work. I don't know if you had a chance
057to read the TRG today, but uh the article's in there and it talks a lot about those questions. Um, and I I'm I feel like almost like we're at a little bit of an impact. Like I don't know where to go from here. I I I truly don't because We have conversations and and they could even be good conversations, but it comes down to, [clears throat] you know, they don't want to give up their high school. We don't want to give up our high school. A two school campus has sounds like a logistic nightmare. And then we've come back to the same thing every two weeks is how I feel. >> Yeah. And I I would share share that sentiment. I have yet to have somebody come up to me and say to school is
058the way to go. Um, and it does come down to neither community. And then we saw it with task forces, right? It went 1210. We want our high school. We want to do this, but we want our high school. So, we look at the two school model, but can't get garner any support for it. So, what's next? Well, the financials that you ran last week showed a little different picture, too, which also needs to now be discussed. And uh you know, don't think that uh when we go into these close session meetings, we're just h we're not listening to the public cuz we are. And I agree with Crystal. After we got done last week, I thought we we lost traction or we certainly went back where we're right at square one again. And uh
059we have to get to some form eventually. We have to come up with something or we don't. And that is what we came up with. So >> the TRG also did talk a little tiny bit at the very bottom about financial and it talked about how originally separate um we were looking at this and this for operational referendums and then it said that now with you know some changes that have happened we're looking at less separate for operational referendums and I'm not sure that's the most fiscally responsible either. are just saying they did point that out. But >> yeah, >> sorry. Yeah, I'm just curious. Has anybody up here heard the two school idea as being supported? >> I've heard it being supported to get it passed so we can get to a one school
060later. But that's what I've heard. Um, talking to people in community, I've asked a question. I mean, what do you people think we need to do? I've got everything from you're on the board. you figure it out to Yeah, I have no problem with it being in green if it's because it's more fiscally financial. Um, I've had people I'm going to vote no on it because I don't want to split high school. I want the high school here. I've heard everything. I can't come to a consensus. Um, I thought maybe we could put it on the August ballot and let the public, but I don't know how we would ever draft a question to get it on the ballot where we would get a good response from the community. >> Elaborate on that a little
061bit. I know like we know what you're talking about, but just maybe so for people watching or listening don't know, what are you talking about as far as the August ballot? Just so they're aware, >> there's a primary in August where we could put a referendum question because you can put two referendum questions a year for a school district on a ballot. We didn't use one in April, so we can use one in August. Um, it would be kind of helping the public guide us on what you're thinking. But how to come up with that question to put on? I mean, would you support >> consolidating the school districts if the high school is not in your school district? The downfall of that is we might get a lot of Okay. Yeah, that might lead
062us to pathway two, but it could be a false positive or false no or positive. I don't know how you want to word it because there's people that are just going to plain gold no matter what. So how do you separate them out of that? And I mean really the turnaround time isn't much right. So so from the time we have to have the question like our final referendum question for November to the county is August 25th >> and primary is what do we look up August? >> I don't August. So, I mean really like even when we get those results, we have two weeks to to try to decipher what people want. >> And also being a primary, I think you're going to have very low voter turnout. And I would be concerned if
063that would be a true representation of the opinion. >> I think April would have been a lot better. Would give us more time, but April's gone. >> Like I said, I'm at an impass. I' I've heard everything and I can't come to a consensus on what would be the best thing to put out. >> I think Jess's comments last week really made me realize that if the staff isn't on board or if the staff can't see it through, I I don't think I should, you know, when we talked about the sports thing, I said the coaches needed to have an impact. They needed to have a decision or they needed to be part of that decision. If I if we got staff members who we trust and we hold in very high regard, if they're
064asking these questions, we can't ask answer them, you know, we've got to be able to do that or we're not going to be able to sell this at all. And you know, I think Jess asked 12 questions and I don't know that I had an answer for one of them. I could have had conversation with it, but I don't think I could have answered one of them. So that that really made me refocus. I guess the only question I think with splitting the school compared to what we're doing now, I think if they would set it up right because right now they're losing class time. If we get set up right, we would not be losing we could not lose the class time. Like if kids when kids go from Loyal to Greenwood right now,
065they need to leave that Greenwood 15 minutes early. They're losing 15 minutes of class time the way we are doing it right now. If that two school system is set up correctly, they should be able to not lose that 15 minutes. >> Well, I think that's one of the hiccups, right, is high school over here, high school over there, but we still want to use some of that facility because we like certain things. And [clears throat] then that's where the conversation comes back to, well, that's really a split campus. >> But you can't just say that. You actually have to be able to do that. And that's why I think if Chris and Joe can actually get together with the administration teams and with counselors and prove or and maybe they can't prove it and
066maybe that's our answer right there. Um but I think that conversation again has to go back to the staff just like I said it had to go to the coaches. I think the staff needs to have some involvement. And I I apologize. They probably should have had some involvement earlier than this, but I'm you've heard my you heard me say I'm kind of at an impass at this point. >> I think one thing that Go ahead. >> I was just um looking back on my notes with Jess's um 14 things and yeah, some of these are like she has and the staff have very good points like there's good concern that it raises more yeah questions like what what is best >> I think um you know one thing that we've seen here is like
067our FBA and FCCLA we just saw [clears throat] one thing that kind of resonated with me that Jess talked about is those clubs that mean so much to these kids and they are just kind of organically falling into place and and they're you know finding their niche and and doing that. What does that look like when we have some of our student body here and some of our student body there? And if those clubs are meeting during Git and lunch and a study hall, I don't know when they're meeting, but they're meeting throughout the day. How do we ensure that not only kids are going to the appropriate campus for their classes, but they're able to make meetings for these really important things? I mean, we've seen some of these kids have blossomed, a lot
068of them, all of them have blossomed in these extra programs, and I don't want to take away any opportunity. Some of these kids are like they are leaders and you can see that and those are skills they're going to take well beyond this this their years here. I don't know. I that part stuck with me is how do we how do we ensure that a split campus is giving those kids the same opportunities? And I don't have the answer for that. But we also want to ensure the sustainability of the school district. >> So that's the other thing that we have to balance because I I I don't want to become the next grand and I think that's maybe where we we do need to look a little bit further into what the next operational
069referendum would look like because the numbers that you showed last week were different than what we originally had thought they were going to be. So the numbers last week were less than our current operational reference, right? >> Correct. >> Which I think is a big deal. >> My question is to get them numbers, Chris, on the expense side, how much staff did you cut or how much you going to take out of what we need to fix our building >> because it was an expense that you control. >> That was forecasted with the current numbers for next year >> with the reductions. >> Yes. Um >> and then that was forecasted out with those reductions all the way through with no further reductions. >> Correct. >> No further reductions. Um it'll be interesting to see
070once where the enrollment is. >> So what did they they figured enrollment down? They only >> five five. So >> yeah. So those numbers were forecasted out with an enrollment less five less each year. >> What is our current operational number on them? >> What's our current one? >> 1.5 >> 15. >> I've got5 written. >> I believe it's one I got it right here. >> 15. I think the next two are 15. >> It's 1414515. And then the new numbers that you have for after >> so >> 1.6 >> 1.8 the following year. That's far as it goes out. >> So >> originally you were talking like two >> two was >> and that that's assuming a 2% raise and currents and staffing current starting next year. >> Correct. with correct >> with no
071health insurance increase. >> That is it's I do believe it said at 10 or 12% >> already >> 12% per year increase. >> I don't number showed that >> it it did for this next year beyond that for the referendum. >> I do believe we were just using that from there 10 or 12. So, um, just put this. So, uh, I had a question. I was going to do this in my report, but this is a good time for it. in talking money. Um, in our joint board last week, uh, I had a someone question me a little bit about, uh, what's in our fund balance and and what what what's going on because they they either misheard me or heard me wrong or or however. U, but the district is currently sitting at about
072just above the $ 1.9 million fund balance. Um, roughly 20% of its budget. Um, in the past we had policy saying at least 15% or higher. So, we've been we've been there. Um, district currently has approximately and this is going to change until we get through um Oh, no. This won't in fund 46. We have approximately $50,000 in our fund 46 capital fund project. All righty. >> Sorry. How much was that? No, >> is it 30 37 >> 37 in April. >> 37. >> All righty. >> Yep. >> Um, so what we are trying to do is from fun 10 this year, all right, we did tighten our balance up and we are trying to save and see what we can put into fund 46 come in in July, end of January, end of June.
073So we are trying to save whatever we can for future projects. Um so that future project is our parking lot. >> Oh that's part of it. We have roofs to continue. You know what I mean? That have been kind of on a five-year plan. Um seal coating and tuck pointing. Uh I do believe that's another couple years there. So, do we need a down payment before July 1 for the parking lot? >> We just did. >> Yeah. >> Y >> that was at our uh we talked about that on the 19th at our house. >> So, that is so that'll show up on our next we took financial statement. >> Yep. >> Which would be the end of the year fiscal year, >> correct? No. >> End of June is the end of the fiscal
074year, >> right? So the end of May. >> Yeah. >> So uh yeah, but does it look better? Yes. Um but we you're going to be [clears throat] dealing with this. Um, like I said, whether it passes or not, whatever whatever we do, I I would just say I would like to take a crack at too and try to figure out a plan um with administration on both ends um and go from there. And if if it can't be done, then we need to go is there a plan B? Um, if we stay, if it does not go through the vote, uh, I I can't say and I've said it since the consolidation started way back when, three years ago. Uh, I just hope people aren't angry and going somewhere else where we can continue
075the very least is collaborate and continue because that'll be that'll be a must. Um, and I don't say just between our two districts. I I think it's going to be a must with others in Clark County. Um so whether it's sharing teachers or sharing students or or doing whatever and I get everything, but it'll be it'll be a different look whether it passes or not. I I think where we're at, like I said, we have um 46 just walked out the door Saturday, 42 will walk out the door as of right now next year. Um mid-30s in the following year, the sophomores, uh and our freshman air 41. After that, now you're in their mid-30s, low 30s. And then you get elementary, then your high 20s, low 30s. So I, you know, >> that's just
076the rural trend though. >> Exactly. Exactly. And and I would say it's heavier in Clark because of Amish minimum. All right. That's how I feel whether you think that right or not, but I that's how I feel and that's what it looks like. All right. I just look at how many schools of Amish or Minite we have in our district alone. um when they have their schools that are what first through 8 and they are almost equivalent to what we have in our school for K12 and they're not even including any high schoolers so because they don't have them. So we just need to make sure that I want to take a crack at that and see what we can do. I think there's some really neat things or cool thing or I should say
077cool or neat. I just really great opportunities for our students that we could look at. Could it be a logistic nightmare? It could be. But like I said, I I have a few weeks to at least try to figure something out. >> How do you envision like this isn't a question just for you? I guess maybe for anybody that has ideas, but like maybe it's the other admin too. But how do we envision things like that aren't the schedule? So like that are like your extra clubs and all these extra things like that's something that I don't know that's something that even if you had a schedule line up that you have minimal travel time. I just really wonder how like other than the classes the core classes and the classes like how do we
078envision all that other stuff that organically happens? I think you'd almost have to run it like two separate clubs and have every couple of weeks they come together as one. >> I I would say the same thing. You'd have to adjust it. >> And that might not be the right answer, but that that's how I would see it happening to be done. >> One advisor. Um, and who knows, I guess whether we would I guess depending on classes that we're offering as far as how we work with the current staff that we have would have in each district and if we would have duplicate staff. I mean certain areas you you'd hope they'd be working together if >> but now what if they didn't have duplicate staff? didn't then challenge the drama thing. We didn't
079have a drama teacher. So, we're happy to go to >> I don't know. I don't know that that was the right answer, but I think that's that might be how you'd have to look at. >> So, I wonder like how long [clears throat] meetings are like for the clubs. Are they like 15 minute meetings? Are they longer meetings? Maybe if they were like shorter meetings, like if they were here, the bus would bring whatever other students here. Bus would hang out for a little bit and then whatever kids need to go back and if maybe some of those students need to go back. >> Maybe this is something you had to talk about. >> It's more of a logistics thing again, too. But like instead of just dropping and turning around, maybe there's a little
080bit of a wait and then go >> just to try to keep them all together. >> So I would say so you have what do we have half hour during our get where they have specified times to meet. So sometimes we need to meet for 15 minutes in a second group meets >> 10 minutes there and 10 minutes back for a 15-minute meeting. >> So a lot of Zoom calls >> just That's the other thing. I mean with technology you should be able to zoom. >> So that is something that >> I would like to tackle. >> Can it be done? Probably. Will it be better? Probably not. >> So in my opinion, just because something can be done doesn't mean it is better. >> You asked the question how it could be done. >>
081Yeah. And that and that's the challenge. You know, we're faced with looking at the financial aspect of our districts and programs that we're offering, the opportunities for students and, you know, our reliance on operating referendums. You know, community has supported those, but we've always had to ask for more funds every time we renew it. And it's not ideal having two buildings. Certainly, it be more ideal if it was one building, but we have to look at what each community has and we don't have the funds that we can stick, you know, enough money into one building or the other to to to have all the classrooms and all, you know, the space that we need. So, it's that's the challenge. It's is how do we how are we being fiscally responsible and yet being able
082to keep the education there at the at a high level and give kids opportunities and be, you know, keep the taxes or our our operating referendums the impact where it's at or not not too much higher. Yeah, I I I know there's a lot and because no other districts have done this, that's the challenge that we face. We don't have any other examples to look at that, you know, districts that are 8 miles apart that, you know, have tried to utilize two sets of buildings. And that's the dilemma we're in. You know, you have two buildings that are complement each other in in different areas. All right? And so you take a look at it. How can we give kids in those areas the most or the best? And >> one one followup. I know
083we talked about it brief some at the uh joint meeting just just if those who didn't hear it. Um we did meet with both technical colleges on May 13th. There were three representatives from each of the two technical college, North Central Technical College and Chipo Valley Technical College. and they are more than willing to try to assist us and expanding our programs. Um they both said that they realized that they need to help their students that are on the edge of their district and not require them necessarily to travel to their campus. Um, so I think they're looking at ways that how can we help our two schools and and I think that would be whether whether we consolidate or not, but um how can we work together more with them and offer some of
084the same, you know, some same similar type programming they both offer and and uh students get additional classes opportunities. I think we're we're just on the edge of trying trying to come up with what what our priorities might be. I guess that's >> What's our focus and and that sort of thing. So hopefully in the next couple months we'll know a little bit more. I know it takes time to develop programs but that's where I see you know trying trying to trying to utilize the technical colleges as well as businesses that are looking for employees down the road and what can we do to help those students become more prepared as they graduate from high school and and hopefully explore some different careers and but if there's a number of number of careers right in
085our home area that they would qualify for that be interested in how can we involve business as well as the tech colleges. Tech colleges were very big on grants that they would work with with the districts on trying to achieve and really work on not just Loyal Greenwood but Clark County period and how can we because it is the fringes of both. So how can we make that happen? So I I thought it was very positive um excited to see what's that goes. I did just want to uh we have heard from a few people why aren't you talking to Granton or have you talked to Granton? Yes. Yes, we have talked to Granton. Um Granton is creating an advisory committee right now. Uh they that advisory committee will report back to their board. They
086are investigating multiple options with multiple neighbors. full grade sharing is still an option and uh they're going to be working on creating a proposal and uh once the proposal is created they will reach out to us at that point. So um we have not yet met with Branton and or scheduled a meeting but they do know that we would like to have that sent out. Anything else? Consolidation. Colton clear as mud. >> Awesome. Let's move on to 513. Hire attorney for the Royal School District. >> Um, so we have currently through the years have been with Strang Law. Um, in sitting and talking with the board. Uh, I've reached out to Weld Riley um to see if they have room for our district and they do. Uh, a couple reasons why I reached out to
087them. They are a little bit more locally. String is down in Madison. Uh, well Riley has offices in Oaklair, Black River Falls, and Wasa. Um, that would help us out. Um, Greenwood has Wald Riley and has had a lot of positive things about them. Not saying Strang is not, but um, and I've talked to other supers dealing with this. So, um, a recommendation of of moving from String to Weld Riley for the 26 27 school year. entertainable >> dollars and cents wise considerably the same or >> no Riley's a little cheaper. >> Cheaper. >> Yes. So that would be another >> likes a cheap attorney until you need them. [laughter] >> Well, travel time needs to have less. >> That's been a big thing where he Strang has been doing a lot of Zooms whenever
088we need them. We don't want to pay that travel. >> Yeah. Um, >> we used Welder Riley before strain. That was the one we had before. >> How long ago? >> Oh, we had him for years. >> No, he had what? Three years. >> How long strain? Strain. >> How long you had strain? Three years. >> Mr. Jackson [clears throat] had him way back when he was with another company and then he's branched off the last three or four [clears throat] years on his own. >> I don't remember that. >> Okay. But we used well for quite a few years and they were good. >> Okay. I don't I don't remember well when I was president Richie. >> Okay. >> But since you haven't been a long time so >> I'll make a motion [clears
089throat] really motion. I need a second. >> I'll second. >> Motion in a second. All those in favor? Motion carries. Other business 6.1 principles report. >> With the end of the school year, we uh have our big district event, which is our end of the year assembly. Um so at this event, we recognize our seniors that are leaving so our entire student body can see them and um cheer for them for that Saturday that they graduate. And at that time, we recognize staff that are leaving and highlight and end with teachers retiring. and then the elementary teacher of the year as well as middle school teacher of the year and support staff person of the year. So, um it's highly attended by every single person in this building. Um made some secret phone calls to
090some families to participate. Um but in the end we had Lisa Mahoney um recognized as our support staff person of the year with the great work she does down in the cafeteria with the food um and just her friendly personality and seeing kids in the hallway whether it's walking through or checking in on classes with milk. Um all the kids are pretty excited to recognize her. So um that was great. Nicole Wreath was nominated and recognized for elementary teacher of the year. Um I think she was shocked and surprised. um with the motion. So that's one of the highlights just getting to see >> welld deserved. >> Yeah. Um that those those things that people do don't go unrecognized. Um and then Jessica Zarki was nominated as our middle school and high school teacher of
091the year as well. Um and just to reiterate how this process worked, um I met with the middle school and high school student [clears throat] council members. Um they looked at all the nominations that people students put out there. Um, I printed, put them together. They went through the packet. Um, and they chose their top three. We had conversations regarding that top one person and that's how they ended up choosing. Um, elementary took a lot longer than the middle school and high school. Uh, I think it was almost 45 minutes. Um, but it was just great to hear the conversations and just the passion love that every single kid, no matter their age level, had for their teachers. So, um, something really neat to experience. So, I just want to congratulate all of them, um,
092for that nice assembly that we had. Elementary wise, end of the year's wrapping up, we've had a lot of, uh, field trips that people are going on to celebrate. Um, we had 4K graduation um, on Tuesday at 10:30. They were able to perform. It was super cute and they're still nervous but excited at the same time. Um, Friday is our last day, so we have our talent show that's starting at 9:00 thanks to a couple teachers that put that together. Um, so we'll see what talent we have and then at the end of the day, the fire department's bringing the fire truck to um, spray down the kids with water. So hopefully it'll be a nice hot day as it has been this week. So it'll be perfect. >> That is a fun tradition. >>
093It is. The kids really enjoy it. >> It's a huge shout out to the fire department. They're they're always great to work with and always wanting to come and make some fun for the kids. So, >> um as far as our elementary uh PBIS golden ticket award winners, uh congratulations to the following students who earned um that student of the month recognition. Finn Franklin, Brinley Coleman'sburgger, Kora Hagen, Beckham Barlo, Ryder Wilkkey, and Onyx Main and Gil. Um, middle school, high school wise, just jumping into our April PBIS awards. Um, our middle school best effort award goes to Jackson Dunar. Our loyal, proud student goes to Macy Smith. And our student of the month goes to Haley Bower. Um, for high school, our best effort goes to Peyton Reef. Our loyal, proud student goes to Brook
094Smith. And our student of the month goes to Madison Dixs. So, congratulations to our middle school high school PBIS award winners for April. >> And again, as we wrap up the school year, we had our middle school and high school band and choir concert early in May. And then everything has been wrapped around our seniors the last couple weeks. We had our senior banquet where they were able to get all of their scholarships and recognized for over their years of work with athletics and academics. We had the senior class trip that went to the Wisconsin Dells and then graduation that happened last Saturday. Um, and this week we're wrapping up with some student council events on Friday that Mrs. Zarky and Ms is Lhan and Mrs. Rememies are putting together for the students. Um, we
095have our awards ceremony Friday morning starting at 9:00 uh for sixth and seventh graders, 9:45 for 8th grade promotion, and then 10:30 for high school. A little bit about athletics right now. It is a very exciting time of the year. It is uh tournament season. So, a couple highlights. Um just want to give a quick shout out to our girls softball team for finishing third in conference. Um they did lose in regionals to Fall Creek uh last week, but just wanted to say congratulations on an awesome season. Um baseball finished second in conference and they start the WIA tournament uh next Tuesday. Um they do have a first round buy. So Tuesday that game uh will be here for regionals. Um best of luck in the playoffs. Uh track and field had has had a
096great season. Um they did very well in conference which we'll talk about um later on. Um and then wanted to also give a shout out to our girls team for being regional champs. So they brought home some hardware uh last night. So congratulations. Then we had a ton um of qualifiers um for the sectional meet which is in Bangor um on Friday, not tomorrow, on Friday um for a chance to uh go to state which will be the following uh th or Friday, Saturday. Um so best of luck in the sectional meet. Um also want to give a quick shout out to the golf team um for a great first initial season. We did have regionals yesterday. Um, we did have one qualifier to the sectional meet, which is really cool. Um, so Carson will
097be golfing at Big Fish Golf Course in Winter, which is up by Hayward, uh, on Tuesday next week with a chance to qualify for the state meet. Um, overall, we have had a ton of all conference recognition, which is awesome. Um those are not all public yet. So at our next board meeting um we will go through it individually all of those all conference recognitions but there's a lot and it's just awesome to see >> you guys good >> report. Uh just want to congratulate uh and wish our graduates good luck. Uh they had a very nice ceremony on Saturday. Like I said before, 46 students graduating this year. Uh like Mrs. K and Mr. Stag said, uh last day with students is Friday, May 29th. A lot of activities prepared for that. And the
098last day for teachers checkout is Monday, June 1st. Um, I would like to congratulate and wish good luck to our FAA and FCCLA members that made it to nationals. Um, and congratulations on all our spring boards for successful seasons up to this point and good luck in their respective tournaments. Uh, last thing, elementary parking lot. Uh, this project will start on Monday, June 8th. uh weather pin per permitting should take about six weeks. So they're talking um end of July that it should be um completed. Hear some rumors out there that uh we sacrifice our staff reductions for this parking lot. That is not true. that is that is a enrollment thing that where the reductions came from. So we are working this um parking lot in our in our budget. So um just wanted
099to say that uh with that it's been a it's been a very good year. uh it has flown by and um I think our district has a lot to be excited for and and and proud of um with all our staff and students and we'll roll right into summer school starting June 8th. So uh with summer school we will be coming from the south entrance of of the high school and we'll walk through from there starting June 8th. Um and we'll just say that um we do have a great turnout. We have approximately 120 125 students signed up for the elementary middle school portion of our uh summer school which will be 8 to 11:30 Monday through Friday for from June 8th through weeks the last day. >> Free lunch, >> right? I do believe
100uh we got that free lunch, free breakfast, free lunch. So, it was all positive. So, we have a lot of things going on in the summer with tractor safety, drivers ed, um training for sport, our athletics, and just what you say, hundreds, >> hunter safety. Just a lot of things, a lot of good things going on in the summer. So, it doesn't just stop because summer's here. So, that is all. Thank you. >> Set some meeting dates. >> Do we have to figure out something different with ours? >> Yes. Board meeting on the >> 24th. So >> I'll be in DC. >> So next week the 3rd we have joint board here. >> Correct. >> Yeah. [clears throat] >> And then we have the 17th is also going to be joint board. And those will
101be 6:30 start time >> close to follow. >> And then the 24th needs to be our regular board meeting needs to be moved. >> Yes. >> Nik out of town till Sunday. >> Are we thinking the first Is that going to be our joint board meeting with Greenwood then? Because that's two weeks after the 17th. >> So, >> yeah, but we only do two a month, but you don't push it that soon in July. >> Well, we've been doing every two weeks, so I just assumed >> I could do earlier that week. So, >> is there a different day of the week that works that week? Earlier than that week, >> the 27th 29th work 29th. I could do work >> June. >> Yeah, >> 29th. Yeah, >> I'm sure I'm going to miss somebody's
102baseball, but it's fine. Softball or something. 29th >> for regular meeting. >> Regular meeting. Yep. >> Six closed, seven regular. >> Yeah. >> Any subcommittees that need to meet? >> No, we need >> or policy. Sorry. We need policy. But yeah, >> I think we have dates that would work for him. >> Let's talk. >> He's just going to resume it, isn't he? We got act 89. Why don't you send emails to >> Chris is going to email the policy committee with dates? >> Um, do we want to figure out committees or he just >> I think for simplicity he'll just replace. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> That's okay. >> Yep. >> Finance. >> Oh, sorry. Um, so I do think we need an athletic committee meeting to kind of follow up with spring sports.
103Um, how does June 15th or 16th work? >> Chris will be gone on the 16th. I can't comming week 22nd 23rd >> 18th >> I am in New York on the 18th using PTO don't worry don't worry thanks for that plug >> what you say 27 Secretary. >> Uh, yeah. >> Could we just can we I mean let's go on the 17 and just go in front of the joint the meeting in Greenwood. Does that work >> is maybe not. >> But yeah. >> Yeah. >> It's hard to get here really concrete. >> Uhhuh. >> But yeah, we can. So, >> how long do you think you're talking? 45 minutes or you thinking an hour? >> I think it'll probably be an hour because we do have four coaches go through for season summaries >>
104to get here by 16. >> I'm going to state FFA >> 15. Why don't you send us some some dates and we'll we'll get something on it. >> Sounds good. Otherwise, you can always do it later, you know, too, if it doesn't work out in June. >> Could we do >> when's state baseball? >> State baseball is the 18th. >> So, we got to be after that. We talk about the state when they make it. There you go. >> All right. I'll send some dates. >> That would include Yes, he's replacing >> one meeting 45 minutes. >> Anything else on Mr. Mr. Ler? Did you want board members at breakfast that are having breakfast for the staff on Monday morning or like normally you do awarding the teachers of the year but they did you
105know it's different. We still recognize recognize them and and our 7:30 >> Monday morning >> whoever can make it >> June 1st 7:30 >> I believe they're coming in at 7:45 about 810 8:15 and then we'll do our program >> and then you can roll at 7:45. How many people do you usually need for that Chris? >> Seven. [laughter] >> Last year there was >> because food service help wherever >> I got to serve the blueberry pancakes last year. Any other meeting dates? >> We want to finance for the end of the year. [clears throat] >> Public comment. Dan, you got anything? >> Uh, no. No. I think you answered most of it here already. So that's maybe the only thing might be is you referenced earlier about talking with the NTC and TPC. >>
106Mhm. >> Uh I know there was some discussion earlier about talking to the community businesses about what we can or can't do, what they'd like to see us doing. Uh I I don't know if I missed it or what, but I'll recall what became of that there with uh people talking to the businesses that has been a little slower process. Uh I've talked to a couple not talk to a whole lot of them right now. So that is something on my docket to continue working on. So I I think a key is going to be is what focus or what pathway we talk to the tech schools that we want to concentrate on at least for year one um and not give too many. Maybe start small with one maybe two and then let's develop
107from there. um guy over at Luxembourg Casco uh they started with one or two and you know diesel and auto and then they went into I don't know what they went into but now they have eight pathways that lead anywhere from tech school to college to workforce um and they get college or tech school credit as seniors or they start looking at it focusing on it as a junior and then as a senior, they can basically almost get one year done of a tech school or a jump on their >> on their college. >> As as businesses, I don't know what we refer to as local, but any Marshfield businesses get included in this. >> They will be. So, um Ben will is our new tech, so he's got a lot of um connections in
108Marshfield. He's already talked to some of them. Uh he and I were both at um the Clark Electric U careerfest that the chamber or the Clark e Clark County Economic Development put on at Clark Electric. Um did some talking to some businesses there, some colleges there and and Ben showed up and and talked to some just planting some seeds and so it was a very good experience there. Also, >> I think he's going to be a tremendous asset for us here. >> I agree. >> Ben participated in mock interviews last Wednesday and in this room we had five or six Marshall companies that participated because Ben called them. So, it was it was really really good to see. >> Yep. >> Thank you. >> All right, Derek, I have a question. Yeah. >> So Chris
109had mentioned that it was only five students u minus every year except in the own admission we are about 25 down from graduation to 4K coming in. So wouldn't that offset the numbers almost 300,000 every year on top of what's already figured since the numbers are wrong. >> So it will be but you also got to talk about open enrollment where that where that I I was going off of we're at a negative five for in and out >> plus a 25. So you're at about 30 difference for each coming year. Real close to >> Yes. >> So that's not it might even take a little bit more next year when 40 leave and 25 come in. >> So is that figured into that into the equation? >> It is >> not. So it is
110it's a little bit off. So [clears throat] I will get more accurate. enrollment numbers and you don't know enrollment numbers till next September third week, third Friday for sure. We can estimate and things like that. So, >> right, I just don't imagine seeing 20 coming in plus the 20 that's already enrolled off of current figures anyway. >> Right. >> So, I have a complete random question. Um a while ago I'd asked you when they do that headcount how that works and you said it's students in seats >> membership. >> No membership membership. >> Membership is people who live in the district >> whether they're attend here or not. >> So my question is the foreign exchange student counts as a regular student. Correct. >> If they're here all year. >> Plus one. >> Are you
111getting one? >> Okay. Not everyone else. >> That would be seven more kids. >> You got [laughter] >> help with the new baby. >> Anything else? >> I do have one more comment since I'm already here. Um, after talking to support staff and seeing it firsthand, I just want to mention how disrespectful it is that their contracts for intent haven't been done a month ago like all the surrounding schools. And the fact there's 3 days left of the school year and they're still not going to have a clue on what they're doing, if they're for sure coming back, any of it, cuz they're all freaking out, but they have no idea. Being in the building, I hear it from lots of people. That's all. >> All right, we will >> reconvene and close. >> Yep.
112I'll need a motion to reconvene and to close session. >> I'll make that motion to reconvene and to close. >> Second, second. >> Sorry. Push it.
