001I pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Uh we do not have anybody signed up for public comment at this time. So we'll move into the consent agenda items. I'd look for a motion for approvals of the building and grounds recruit and retain and the regular monthly board meeting at the same time. Motion >> Davey makes the motion second. >> Second by Kirk. All those in favor. >> Motion carries. Financial reports. Matt. >> Okay. Balances as of January 31st, 2026 in the general fund is $530,3401. In the capital projects, it is $37,6954 and in the checking it's $600,524.35. >> Any questions regarding financial reports? Entertain a motion to approve. >> Matt makes
002a motion. >> Second by Crystal. All those in favor? >> Motion carries. New business. Presentation by the FBLA members. We should just get Jonah seat. He's here at every meeting anyway, right? >> Usually. All right. Good evening everyone. I am Jonah Bratcher and as the region 2 vice president of Wisconsin FBA. I'm proud to share a recap of our 2026 Region 2 RLC conference which we hosted here on February 7th. That was a Saturday. We welcomed over 700 students and almost 100 volunteers for a full day of leadership competition and connection. Our morning began with a nice check-in um an adviser and judges meeting and an opening session in the high school gym. We are really lucky that we were able to fit everybody and we had to get a couple more rooms of chairs
003out. So that tells you how many people we have. We were honored to bring in our state senator, district 23, representative Jesse James, who spoke about leadership and service and making your bed every morning. Um, we also heard from Laura Opel, the COO of Grassland Dairy Operations, and she had a nice keynote speech about professionalism and growth and all things related to FBA. Our students competed in objective tests, performance events, and uh throughout the day they participated in workshops. I listed out our workshops. We had one um taking professional head shot. Our art teacher, Miss Tidberg, did a great job with that one about making networking connections, which was actually a specific point on our state officer team's um >> what would you call it? Yeah, our program of work, our initiatives. Um, one all
004about college 101, which Devonyie Goldman hosted. She did a great job with that. I got to s sit in on that for a little bit. And one about building your own t-shirts so students could come into Mr. Belter's room and use a t-shirt press and learn how to operate that. It was super cool. Gave everybody like hands-on experience. And that was a big hit. Uh between electing my replacement, sad um voting for that replacement, our karaoke entertainment was a big success. We had lunch in our cafeteria which went really well. Like to shout out the lunch, who was it? Mrs. Mahoney did it. Mrs. Mahoney did a really nice job with coordinating all of our stuff and making sure that everything went smoothly there. We had a really nice opening session, a really nice awards
005ceremony. Everything went really smooth and we're really proud of how it went. Um, this conference has been months in the making between Mr. Schiller, me, our state team, and all of the little parts that had to come together. Uh, as a state officer, a big part of my role was recruiting judges. So, I had to communicate with volunteers, coordinate logistics, all of those things. I probably spent two months every day in Mr. Schiller's room, texting, emailing, calling people that I knew just so that we had enough people. And thank you board members who volunteered your time to be judges. Much, much, much appreciated. We could not have done this event without our community members stepping up. There was a lot of those emails, phone calls, behind the scenes stuff. On the actual day of the
006event, Mr. Schiller and I really had two separate days. He handled a lot of the stuff with the judges from the elementary side and making sure all of those logistics were really nice and then I handled pretty much everything with the other 700 people in the building. He did a really nice job and I can't thank him enough. um that alone is just such a massive responsibility. I wanted to give you guys a sincere thank you because you guys have poured a lot of help into our CTSOs and clubs and it's just it's been really nice to see this event come to fruition and it's either the biggest or one of the biggest events we've hosted in Loyal just numbers wise. Um, I wanted to thank our custodial staff for the setup and the tear
007down. They did a really nice job helping that. Um, our tech team with helping us prepare everything beforehand. There was a lot of moving parts with the technology and it went well well enough. Um, you guys of course our board, our administration for helping in just every way. All three of our administration members were at the event and that was really nice to have those eyes and ears and our teachers for being flexible with us using their classrooms because we really did use almost the entire high school. Um, and then our miscellaneous chapter members really stepped up to helping run concessions and just assisting in random ways with check-in and checking in judges and all those things. hosting an event this size really took everyone. And that's the gist of my summary. I'm incredibly proud
008of how everyone did. Our chapter did a really nice job. I know Addie's going to touch on that a little bit more. Um, but as a state officer, it was an honor to be able to represent our chapter and our school and have so many awesome people affected by our RLC. So, thank you guys. So, we've had community service projects throughout the year. Our first one was in September, Clark Electric pumpkin decorating. We had three members participate, including myself. We uh we helped kids decorate pumpkins. We even got to decorate our own pumpkins after we were done. And um our next community service project, we had a fall blood drive. In October, we had a very successful blood truck compared to last year with many new people donating blood. We had groups rotating in now
009throughout the day to help check in and hang out food and drinks to people who were dying. Um on Halloween, we had trunk or treat, gave out candy. Um we had around 20 people in total poking out. I believe that we all had a good time handing out candy and got free hot dogs afterward. Um in November we helped out with the uh Ronald McDonald House. We had a giant group of people doing various activities. We had three groups in total. Um one was raking leaves. The second was making a mailing assembly line in which the mail was for people who had helped um the house during the last year or during the year. And the last group was tasked with making meals for the house. Uh during Christmas, we had um Christmas movie night
010where we watched the Grinch. Uh we didn't expect so many people to come, so that was awesome. We also had volunteers running the snack cart and Schiller was the overseer. Made sure that everything went smoothly. Uh overall, it was a great night. I even got to see Shelter shoot some basketballs at the end. Overall throughout the year, I think that all the members had fun volunteering and helping out with their events in the community and I hope that we can do even more next year. Hello, I'm Addy Wolf and as FBA president, I'm here to update you on how individually and as a chapter we did at ROC and then our plans for state. So, we have 58 members in total and 51 of them competed at regionals either prior to with the test or
011on the day of. Uh we had 25 members place in the top five and 13 place in the top three which means those 13 advanced to state. Members moving on include Ben Heath, Melanie Gramps, Joe Treinger, Jonah Brer and myself who placed first, Mila Lner, Payton Wolf, Rayen France, Hazel Fitzell, and Casey Bower who placed second. Brayley Suda, Ellie Rita, Andy Aers, and Macy Lintner who placed third. Also, uh for the first time since Mr. has been an adviser at least as far as we know. We uh were awarded outstanding chapter. We got fourth out of 31 chapters. And this award is based on how many points you earn as a chapter. You get like one place for fifth place. Um one yeah, two points for fourth place and on. So we got fourth. We
012got a plaque which is awesome. Um, so yeah, that is the first time as far as we know that we've gotten that. We're really proud of everyone and how hard they worked to earn those placements and earn us that award. So states is April 13th and 14th. It will be going down Sunday night because as Jon's an officer, he needs to be there early and then the rest of us just get to enjoy swimming and a meal and fun stuff. So all 13 of those members placing will go I think I think we have 18 members go to >> yeah because leadership academy and then the chapter projects. >> Yes. So the state leadership conference also hosts a leadership academy uh for two additional members outside the ones that uh placed at regionals. So, we
013invited two members and they will attend two sessions between Monday and Tuesday with Patty Hendrickson who is an interactive leadership speaker and she's been a favorite among um many of our members that have attended the leadership academy in the past. So, we're excited for those who get to go to that. Um this is the most members we've had at Penn State um in a while also since been advisor. So, that's awesome. It just proves to how much our chapter is growing and how much people really care and put in effort into their events which we love to see. Uh we're very excited to see how everyone does and I especially am looking forward to uh see the underassman really learn what FBA is all about. >> Uh I just wanted to touch on a couple
014things. First of all, uh Jacob talked about our past uh community service projects we've done. Coming up, we have the community Easter egg hunt that we do at the it'll be the end of March, the last weekend of March, the Saturday. So, look for that stuff and that's open to the entire loyal community and we work with the city, the chamber through that. Uh, and they help us fund that portion of it. We also have our second blood drive which will be April 9th. So, if you are willing and able, we would love to have you. uh our rep from the American Red Cross, he comes in and speaks each time that we do a blood drive and he has said over and over again how much community support we end up getting here versus
015he goes to DC Everest and he gets like nine units, you know, with a school that's how much bigger than we are. And each time all of our time slots are basically filled up. I think this last time in the fall we had 34 36 units. Uh so that is an incredible opportunity. So anyone and everyone can come to that. uh information will be coming out and then uh we're looking forward at state just to see what we could possibly do to get to nationals for any of those positions. Uh one other thing I wanted to touch on just to go off of what Jonah had said regarding state office and hosting RLC. I think that just amazing how many people needed to help out and be part of the planning of that process. Uh,
016I met with uh with Brad, our custo head custodian, several times mapping out how many tables, how many chairs. Uh, I met with Travis numerous times with tech trying to figure out how we're going to get this many devices in here. Lisa with food service was terrific making sure that everything would work well. Uh, the day of uh was absolutely great to have Jesse James and Laura Opel both come in and speak and the kids really enjoyed their topics and they were very engaging. And then also to have uh Jonah's mom, Sarah Bratcher, she was helping out throughout the day. Uh Add's mom, Jamie Wolf, she was a huge help. Uh Leanne, my wife, they were great helps throughout the day with different aspects. And then also uh each of our administrators were here on
017a Saturday uh giving up their time. So that was terrific to have them and the pieces that they each helped because there was a lot going on uh throughout that time. So, we greatly appreciate all of them and we appreciate everything that that you guys do to allow us to be who we are and and I think have a very successful FBLA. Uh the last part is just uh February is CTE month, so career and technical education. We had FBA week and FCCLA week. Uh that was the second week of February which we celebrated together with FFA. we wanted to try to combine instead of having so many different days and activities and overlapping. So, we had each of our presidents work together to figure out a plan. And then last Friday, we had activities
018in the gym at the end of the day where each of the organizations put together uh different activities for students to do, which was really nice. And then this week, of course, is National FFA week. So, they're doing a couple additional things, but that was a nice way to collaborate, to get everyone together and and support our CTS, our CTSOs and CTE. So, thank you for allowing us to come up and speak. >> I have a question. Yeah. Um, so you said states April 13th and 14th. Where is it at? >> It's at Green Bay. Yep. Uh, FBLA has a contract through, I think, the next three years for Green Bay. Uh, they just talked about housing. It's very difficult uh because I think we have over 2,000 members that will attend and that uh
019is where they've been the last couple years. We're going to have a challenge on the Tuesday of it this year because we have our baseball, softball, and track teams all at Gilman on Tuesday night and we're working out those logistics so that everyone can compete, get everything they need to, and then we're going to figure out how to get them to their events there, which is great because they're involved in extracurriculars, involved in FPLA, and that's what we want for our students. Great job. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> I'd like to congratulate you guys on a great day on that Saturday on that conference. So, thank you >> and thanks for everything you guys have done. >> Thanks, guys. >> And I'd also like to thank I was here that day and things ran
020really smooth. 5.2 presentation by Maya Murley. >> School comes. >> Hello. >> Hi. >> Well, first it is I love all the things that they just shared because it's really so great to come to school and like the kids are actually so excited to be here not to do school but for all the extra things that they do. Um and my room was also used at this conference on that day. Um and I wrote a little note saying please feed my fish and they did. So that was really kind. So, extra special shout out to the FBI. >> We weren't sure if that was for real or not. >> I was. I was like, I'm not going to be here, so might as well. And they did. So, apparently maybe twice because I heard Jonah
021and K. So, it's fine. Um, okay. I'm here to talk about a couple different things. We're going to talk about scheduling updates with Angie. Um, and then I'm talk about our TA, our teacher assistant program, and then our Greyhound mentors program. Um, so just a quick update on scheduling for next year. Uh, we finished registration forms. they were due February 13th. So, most of our students are done. There's still some stragglers out there that I'm tracking down every day asking for their um their form to be submitted. We did something different this year and it's went away from paper and now it's on Google so they can't say, "Oh, I lost my sheet anymore." I'm like, "You you have your Chromebook, you got your sheet." So, we're slowly working on getting our schedule done as
022things are coming together. Um we usually start with seniors and make sure that like the things that they want align um and don't overlap with the required classes that they need. Um and then kind of just trickle down from there. Um and then just another update on Sweden. So we're now we're part of Sweden network which stands for I had to look this up before I came so I wasn't caught off guard if anyone asked me what that means. Central Wisconsin Educational Television Network which is how a lot of our students get like their distance learning classes. um which is what some of these fancy like that one right there it says need distance learning help that's from Sweden. Um so just an update that they're going to be combining with all the other networks
023throughout the state of Wisconsin. Have you guys talked about this before? >> We have not. >> Okay. Okay. >> Okay. They're combining. So pretty soon they're not going to be called Sweden anymore. They're going to be called something else. They are talking about a name but they haven't made a decision yet. So um an official name hasn't been announced but they're working on it. So when you hear called not Sweden anymore that's what they're talking about. Um, but I'm just really excited about it because our seniors this year have done I feel like a really good job of like really taking a lot of advantage of our of the Sweden like contract um and our sweeten classes that we have to offer and next year they've taken like even more of an advantage of it.
024Um, this year we have one senior in particular who's like going to go into education and right now she's taking educational psychology, children's literature, pluralism for educators and she took like college English and sociology and psychology and college math. like she's going to be really really far ahead um of her peers when she gets to college. So, it's just really exciting to see that. Um and then because she did that, like now some of the juniors have seen her do that and they want to do it next year. So, it's just really cool to see all the different things that they want to do. Um like social work and financial accounting and economics and all this cool stuff that I feel like I didn't have when I was in high school. So, it's just really
025cool to be able to see them all want to do these things and um yeah, pretty special. Um, also just wanted to let you all know that in the next couple weeks we're going to see some social media posts about how many credits have been earned by the kids over the years. Um, yeah, over their last four years. Um, so be on the lookout for those. Pretty exciting numbers. A lot of them come from our dual credit courses that are taught here by our high school teachers um that are like transcripted credit through NTC. So, it's pretty exciting stuff. Anything else you want to share about scheduling? >> Okay. I'm planning like mid-March, April, we'll be moving on. >> So you are meeting with >> Greenwood on Tuesday. >> Tuesday. >> Okay. >> Tuesday. >>
026March 3rd. >> Yep. >> Okay. I just know the date. I don't know what day we get. Okay. March 3rd. >> Okay. That's on schedule unless I ask any other questions. We're moving. We're working. Um next we're gonna talk about TAs, which are our teacher assistants. Um very beloved at our school. Um, so a teacher assistant, a student can be a teacher assistant if they're a junior or senior and have good attendance and are good in good academic standing and obviously aren't credit deficient for any reason like they need credits. Um, then we'll put them in class. But our TAs can be at the middle school or high school with any of our teachers or they can be down at our elementary level. So, I'm really going to touch more on our elementary TAs um,
027and just things I've seen them do. They're just like super appreciated. I would say like any oh sorry any of the Baltimore boards you see out here or up front like those are done because of a TA because I have a TA helping me or someone else in the building has a TA helping them cut things, laminate things, put things together. Um and I would say like down on the elementary and too like I see a lot of the TAs like especially like the first graders like helping them write things out. I was in a fourth grade classroom and they're like who needs help with long division? I was like oh please don't ask me to help. But some of the some of the senior girls knew how to help. So that was really really
028good to see. Um yeah, I just wanted to highlight on how helpful they have been um and impactful in our school building. Um okay, and the last one is our Greyhound mentors. I just wanted to highlight this program really quick. Um I counted this morning and we have 16 little and big matches. So littles are like our elementary students and then bigs are our high school students. Um, so our bigs, our high school students are able to join if if they're interested and they can commit to uh meeting with their little one to two times a week for about 30 minutes. Um, and it usually works out pretty well this year cuz our get time is during a lot of their lunch and recess time. So pretty good thinking on our part. Just saying. Um,
029so that's been pretty cool to see. And then our littles are selected based on if they've been in it in the past um or if like a teacher parent recommends. Um, and then this year too when we had an influx of bigs who were interested, we looked at like attendance data, like students who really struggle like getting to school every day on time. How can we make sure that we're like finding a reason for them to want to come to school? And a big has been a really big motivator for a lot of our littles to come to school because they want to see their bigs in the hallway or they want to see them during the day. There's a lot of kids or a lot of teachers that tell me that their students are
030always like, "When is so and so coming?" And like every day they'll ask even though they know they come on Thursdays. They're like, "When is so and so coming?" They're like, "Thursday." Um that is it's still happening in February. They're still asking. Um which is which is great. Um I regularly see them playing games in the gym. They're tossing around footballs in the library a lot. Um some of the first and second graders, they have the same lunchtime. They'll be in my room playing a big game of Uno. It's just the best. It's hard for me not to like want to jump in and play with them, but it's good for them to have their time. Um when they'll see their pigs in the hallway, they're like little celebrities. The high schoolers love it too
031cuz they're like, "This is just like a time I get to relax and hang out with a child who literally adores me." Um, we've had one really, not just one, we've had a lot of really successful matches. I feel like all of them have been great, but there's like one in particular that really just stands out to me. Like their little has just made such big gains. Like they're doing a sticker chart together. Like it's just a huge thing. So like he's just been like such a big help in like motivating our student to do really well. Um, they usually meet one or two times per week for like 15 to 30 minutes. Um, and then the bigs just have to document every time that they meet. And then if they have any concerns, they
032obviously reach out to me. Um, and then I'm going to leave off on this that during school counseling week, which was a couple weeks ago, um, all the students wrote thank you notes. And one student wrote this note to me. Dear Miss McSurley, thank you for giving me a chance to have a big buddy. It was very nice and I love meeting with her from student. So, I just wanted to share that. I was like, yeah, you're welcome. Even though I didn't really have anything to do with it, but yes. Okay, that's it. and we'll see any questions. >> Okay, >> excellent. >> Thank you so much. >> Have a great night. >> Have a good night. >> Thank you very much. >> Thank you, Jacob. >> Good night. >> Uh we'll move on to
0335.3 accept resignations. >> Okay. Uh got a couple retirement resignations. Uh two loyal Greenwood School Board. I am writing to inform the school district of Loyal Greenwood that I am resigning as head softball coach for Loyal Greenwood High School. Thank you for the opportunity to coach. Uh Greg Brock, >> how many years? >> He has to have >> 30. >> I think he's a couple years younger than or after I got here that he started with baseball. >> Baseball first >> as assistant and Yeah. So, can't thank him enough. >> Yep. Thank you, Greg. Thank you, Greg. Uh, another 30 year. After 30 years with the Loyal School District, I've made the decision to retire at the end of the school year. It's hard to believe that I've been walking these halls for three decades
034as a professional after growing up here. Loyal School has been more than just a place to work. It has been a community and a second family. The lessons learned here have shaped me as much as I hoped I have shaped others. I'm grateful for all the memories, amazing student athletes that I have had the privilege to teach and coach and the friendships with the colleagues over the years. It's been a privilege to watch generations of families grow up through our school system. While I'm retiring from teaching, I'm looking forward to my next chapter that includes launching my painting business, continuing coaching, support loyal schools and activities through the community, and more granular time. Thank you to everyone who has made the last the past 30 years here so meaningful. Always be a greyhound proud. My
035group I recommend that we accept go >> big thank you to my group too. >> I'm sorry. Yes. Yes. Definitely a lot of a lot of great things about Mike also >> done a lot of good things for the community. Both of them have. >> Yes. So those are two other people that will be missing in our district or in our school I should say school accept the resolution. >> Matt made the motion to accept second by Nikki. All those in favor? >> Motion carries. >> 5.4 approve the hiring of a tech teacher. Okay. >> I'm going to recommend hiring Ben Will from Marshfield. He comes with uh 20 plus years of experience. Um just someone that thinks outside of the box and and had a great interview, has a great resume. Um state techad
036teacher of the year in 2025. So um excited for what he could do with our program. Also, um, just to mention, um, we had three certified teched teachers apply, which is really unheard of, uh, in this day and age. So, all were very impressive. Um, and I'd like to thank them for their time. But I'm going to recommend Ben will. >> Any questions? Motion to approve. >> I'll make a motion to approve. Tom makes a motion to approve. >> Second. Second by Kirk. All those in favor. >> Motion carries. 5.5. Approval of the spring coaches. >> Thank you. >> See you guys. Thank you very much. I >> Right. You want me to list all of them? You want to do sport by sport or all at once? >> Let's go uh sport by sport.
037Talk about softball a little bit. >> Okay. All right. Um let's go baseball right off the bat. Um, head coach Dean Mcdanovich, assistant coach Rosco Lamovic, uh, assistant coach Andy Picoshic, volunteer, JB coach Phil Rusk, middle school coach Eric Johnson. >> And just for clarification, Justin, head coach is okay with all the assistant coaches brought on. This was approved there. He's good with them. >> Absolutely. Is that normal procedure for the head coach to pick the assistant coach? >> Yes, it is. So, just being honest, I mean, Rosco was an assistant last year. Andy Picosic was an assistant last year as a volunteer and then Eric Johnson was the middle school coach. So protocol would be make sure that the new head coach would be okay with everybody, but we didn't necessarily interview for those
038positions because they were in them last year. Um, any other questions regarding baseball? Make a I need a motion to approve baseball coaching staff as presented. >> I'll make that motion. >> Kirk makes a motion. >> Second. Second by Davey. All those in favor >> I >> opposed. Baseball pass. >> All right. Uh softball head coach Heidi Ashbach, assistant coach Perry Hostrike. Uh JB coach Paige Lner and Emma Schloo. Uh with Doug Schloo as a volunteer, middle school coaches Ashley Diesler and Jennifer Jud. Justin, you want to speak a little bit to the hiring process of the head coach? >> Yep, absolutely. Um, so Greg called me and resigned quite late. Um, so I believe it was on a Thursday. Um, and by Friday, um, I already had two applicants um, that were already in
039the program saying that they were interested. Um, and then I put it out to the staff for internal applicants that were interested. Please contact me. Um, and nobody did. And about a week later um is when we had those two head coach interviews. Um Jenny Mchain and I um met with both candidates. Um and then we called our references and then making our proposal tonight for Heidi Ash to be the head coach with Perry as the assistant. >> Now was Heidi the head coach one other time? >> Yes, >> she was. >> I believe it was the first year of the co-op. Does that sound right? Yep. >> First year of the co-op. >> Where did Randy come in then? On top. >> That was before the co-op. >> Yep. Randy was in baseball then.
040>> He was before >> switched when Rick switched to softball then. >> So they didn't come in late. They decided to first >> Yes. And then the following year the following year. >> Yes. and they flipped. Yes. >> Any other questions regarding the softball coaching staff? >> None. I entertain a motion to approve. >> Move to approve. >> Tom. >> Second by Crystal. All those in favor? >> Opposed? >> No. >> Motion carries. >> Track. Track head coach Tim Getman. Assistant coaches Kyle Damas, Morgan Nal, Noah Lobner, Matt Kabista, volunteer. Middle school Tiffany Clint, Rebecca Smith, Lindsay Smith, volunteer. >> How many of the assistant coach positions are paid? Uh, I believe they are all paid except for Matt being a school board member. Um, but what they are going to do is they take
041the contracts and this is very similar to last year and they divvy up the money for the contracts. Um, so they are paid but they're not like extra contracts. >> There's certain positions four and then they divvy out so they can have a a fourth or third position. Any questions regarding the track program? >> Um, I should clarify one thing just so I didn't put it on here. I'm sorry, but Tiffany Clintman would be the middle school head coach. Um, just so you know, and I mislabeled that on there, so I apologize. Any other questions? Look for an approval for the track program. makes a motion. >> Tom makes a motion. >> Second by Crystal. All those in favor? I >> I >> motion carries. 5.5. Second reading and approval. >> Golf isn't on my
042list. >> Let's approve golf. >> Can I talk about this one, Mr. Lair? All right. So, tonight I'm asking that you approve me as the head varsity golf coach. Um, I also would take on JV, but I also would like you to know that if there is seriously another applicant that's qualified, I would bring them to you and resign. >> What's your What's your handicap? >> So, 12. We're talking about, you know, nine, right? >> Mhm. It's about eight eight. So, but yeah. So, just so you know, like I am asking to approve me tonight, but that could change if somebody else would be interested. Along with that, um Darren Bremer um would like to volunteer and help out as well. >> Any other questions regarding golf? >> I was going to ask if we
043had any applicants for that position. >> No, >> just you. We've reached out for >> a couple and had nothing >> or no >> didn't want to do it. So >> I think the program would be lucky to have you. So >> just for the record >> cuz there's nobody else. >> No, I'm serious. I think it'll it'll be good. >> I think it'll be good tonight. >> So how long you leaving it open before you step down? >> Um when does the school year end? >> No, I don't know. Yeah. Yeah, >> I guess that would be a conversation if we would get an applicant. >> Yeah. And I think this is a good time to, you know, this was a request of the students, so I appreciate you stepping up and and fulfilling
044their wish to to have a golf team. So, I think that's pretty neat. >> So, thank you for that. >> Y >> with that, should we approve him as the golf coach? >> I'll make that motion. >> Kurt makes the motion, second by Matt. All those in favor? >> Motion carries. Just out of curiosity, how many kids are interested so far? >> A little more than we thought to be honest. I think we're at 11 from Loyal and one from Greenwood. So >> that's awesome. >> Y 5.5 second reading and approval of the Niola policies update 35.1. >> Okay. So we have the second reading for the updated policies. Uh even I just got an email from Todd Anthony from Niola which we sent to the policy committee. Um we need to have a meeting
045on I would say do not accept or pass or approve um act 57. I would I would leave that out. >> Was there anything? >> I don't know. >> I don't think there was. >> Sorry. You don't think so? >> I don't think so. >> You don't need to worry about it. Uh-huh. >> But we do need to have a meeting on it. Just came out um an update state law. >> Um so until we have it, we follow the state law. Um Nola will have something for us to approve. >> So we need a motion to approve everything except that >> motion to approve um the 35.1 >> second reading. >> Motion to approve the second reading of 35.1. >> I'll make that motion. Tom makes a motion. >> Second by Kurt. All those
046in favor? >> I. >> Motion carries. >> I My apologies. I thought 57 was in there. >> All righty. >> Okay. >> 5.7 discuss and possible action. Uh public hearing. >> Okay. >> Yep. >> So, um we did this already. Uh it is a scythe family that wants to move into the Neielsville school district from our school district. We had a hearing in January. Um Mr. Butler said that that would qualify. We get a letter from DPI saying no, it has to be done in February. So um I contacted Psych family uh Satie invited her tonight. um damage home. >> Well, you had already reached out to him with a letter. Correct. >> So, we we did we we I talked to him, reached out with a letter and I just said this is the
047official time to do it. Um I I just said I believe our board is going to maintain their decision. Um, so >> and historically we we're just not we don't want to give up any boundary. >> Neilsville denied it too. >> And Neilsville denied it also. So I would I'll just recommend the denial of switching zone or districts. >> I'll make a motion to deny. >> Motion to deny is on the table. Any second? >> Second. Second by Nikki. All those in favor? >> Motion carries. >> 5.8 discussing the possible action on the 2627 school calendar. >> Okay. Um sat with Mr. Schiller some sat with Mrs. Reed Nicole Reed quite a bit. Um she's been on the calendar committee for many years. Um, and I believe we have the final draft presented in front
048of you that I am recommending to approve. Uh, it was sent out in front of you. It's in your board docs. Um, I did send it out, I believe, Monday to the whole staff. I haven't heard back anything. I heard something about snow days, but I haven't heard anything else. Uh, Mrs. Re has not talked to me about anything different. Um it matches very closely with Greenwoods. Um there might be two days that we aren't matching. I think they have two days that there are remote learning and doing an inservice and we're just doing an inservice. So we are going May 28th is our last day with kids. >> Is Greenwood doing Wednesday's early release now too? >> No, they're not yet. Okay. So, it's not aligned completely. >> Not aligned completely. Plus, we have
049a day or two here that are are off, but it 99% it's there. All righty. So, the the key is is if we do have kids moving back and forth that they're not multiple days sitting not doing any or doing something not not in one building. So, I think it aligns very well. So next year I believe we will have our teachers and principles and supers both sit down together and look at it and nail it up. So that's a possibility. Yes. >> I just want to ask or just clarify ahead of time. So every year, every August, everybody's saying kickstart these last couple days in August. Is it mandatory? Is it not mandatory? Last year we had as teachers saying it was mandatory. The kids had to be here. So can we just clarify
050on the record right now that the the couple of days in August the 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th, >> 31st, >> and the 31st are optional but highly encouraged. Like and there's reason for that. the the freezing.
