You know, we've had a fair amount of requests where we've just we've denied. >> No, I don't think >> we've never denied a request. >> Just a couple few years ago, there was a old one up in the far north uh >> was >> northwest corner. >> Was it for reszoning or was it for transportation? >> Transportation. They wanted to come into our district to pick up the kids, >> but they didn't want to be reszoned into the Owen district. >> So, it was all again around transportation. Correct. So the letter will state the reasons for denial. >> So do we need to have a form of motion that >> any other questions >> regarding the boundary? I would look for a motion. >> I'll make a motion to leave the boundaries stand as is.

Make a motion to keep the boundary in it current form. I'll second. I'll second the motion. >> Second by Tom. All those in favor? >> I. >> Motion carries. >> Item 5.9 discuss a possible action on the 20 26 27 school calendar. >> Okay, we're close um with recruit and retain. Uh there's a couple days that we are working on yet. So um this will be done for the February meeting for sure. Okay. But I think we're we're very close. Um very similar matching with Greenwood. Might be a little tweak here or there, but um >> any major surprises? >> Um >> we're not going to ask school early. >> No, but we do have early release, which is >> early release is remaining on the schedule. >> Yes. Okay. >> Okay. Um, I believe

Easter weekend looks like it might be we might add a couple days. So, it's like a little bit longer. So, you're going to go like a Wednesday through Monday. Um, kind of a compromise between a spring break and a Easter break. And, uh, starting basically the same time. I do believe August 17th is looking at um, new teachers. 181 1920 would be um >> staff staff in service and start on I believe the 24th 25th would be middle school high school and an open house on that Monday and then we'd go that week and you'd have summer school one more time on um thought there was four or five days >> but it's close you know where we're at. All righty. Our first day of classes will go in. So other than that, I think

it's pretty similar to what we've had. >> And you said that was presented to recruit and retain. >> Yep. >> Been working with a couple teachers, elementary and high school. >> Perfect. >> Item 5.10 update on the strategic plan. >> Okay. Uh so I'm just going to talk. Um we have we have three members right over here Eva and Justin and Angie. Um we are developed a survey to make sure are we being transparent and communicating the administration the board everyone. So, we have a we created the the task force or the strategic plan committee created a um survey that will be going out here in our newsletter and out on our Facebook page and website here soon. Um asking some questions to community members, students, staff on it. Um, and we'll get that feedback

back and so we can because I think that was a a big a big concern when we had our strategic plan. So, you guys have anything to add to that? Okay. So, then we will get the results back and we will share that with the board. Any questions on the strategic plan? Move forward to 5.11. Update on the consolidation. All right. Uh consolidation plan. Um so we had our joint board meeting last week. The week prior to that uh we had listening sessions in Greenwood and Loyal. Uh they interviewed staff members from both districts. um make 35 here, six or seven over in Greenwood uh with a wide variety of of prospects or not prospects, questions, concerns or ideas or thoughts. Um and it was from one spectrum to the other. Uh but it was

good because they got their feedback. Um and at our joint board meeting um they had uh a presentation on what did those results come back with. Now we do have um a consolidation plan on our website tab um that we will start throwing we have something in there right now uh and we will start throwing this information onto that so people have access to it. Um if they question where where did the advisory referendum go? It is a it is a um link in here off of the consolidation plan. So um we will keep people updated through this venue. Uh branding committee talked a lot about uh what they have done. Uh I don't know if you want to talk about it or you're good with me talking about it. >> All righty. Go ahead.

>> Okay. real brief. Um, so the branding committee met eight days ago and took about 275 ideas um that came in um mostly through the uh QR code um that was in the paper and the link that was sent out on the Facebook pages and then you could we take you to the survey about 275 or so ideas. We narrowed it down to three potential names um if if we are consolidated. Uh so those three names are Clark Central School District, Loyal Greenwood School District, and Hartland Central School District. Um and then we narrowed it down to four mascot choices, which are Phoenix, Lightning, Bucks, and Patriots. So, uh the committee went through lots of different ways to kind of narrow it down. Um and those are the ones that that we are going to

put out there. Um, I am currently working on a flyer that will be going out soon. Um, we just want to get that information out to people. Voting will start February 11th where um, community members, uh, teachers, students will be able to vote um, on which name they like the best and which mascot they like the best. Um, that will run for about three weeks, I think. Um the QR code's going to go in the TRG that goes out to the Loyal community and the Greenwood community. But prior to that, we want to just make sure we get um the mascot meetings out there. So, I'm currently working on that flyer now to just let people know what what each of those mascots represent and why um they would be good potential ones. And that

way when they go to choose, they're not just picking like, oh, I like this or I like that. There's kind of like meaning behind it. Um so, yeah, I guess watch for those flyers. And then um voting will start in February 11th. >> So the voting will go um the TRG that goes out in to all the mailboxes in Loyal and all the mailboxes in Greenwood will have a QR code and it'll kind of just explain like what I just said that you're going to pick a name and a mascot. You can scan the QR code and um vote. You'll have to have an email address to vote. So, we can kind of we're going to try to limit it down to one person or one vote per person. Um the elementary students will get

um something sent home and then we're asking parents to sit down with their kids and read it to them and explain what they're choosing and what that means and then they can send it back to the office. Um, we thought that was the best way to get to capture like the younger kids rather than, you know, going into a classroom and saying, "Raise your hand if you want this or raise your hand if you want that." Because they're all going to look at their friends and and pick one. And so, we want parents to be able to kind of sit with their kids and explain that. Um, and then, uh, Travis is going to be working on sending out links to junior high school, right? >> Yep. >> So, then, um, they will get it

in a link just like the how you submitted your idea. Click on it, pick yours, submit it. So, and then yeah, I mean the the most votes will be the new potential name. So, >> and then once the the one is picked with the most votes, then we'll work on creating the mascot. >> Right. That is correct. So, so um I talked to my a little bit about like their graphics team can help with mascots if we want them to. um just because I mean we're looking at copyright issues and things like that. So we will then once the mascot is picked then the committee together will pick on colors just because obviously if it's you know bucks we might go with a different color than if it's lightning right so we're not going to

do colors until we know the name and and most importantly the mascot and then yes we'll pick colors and kind of just work on mascot ideas with graphic designers from my so >> okay thank you um speaking of my and HSR They have gone through all the buildings engineers in those uh companies. Uh they have to come in and um measure with a laser all our rooms in Loyal yet. So January 30th they will be here um starting at 8:00 in the morning till probably probably about 4 they figured. So um they will start on the high school end and work their way north. Okay. Um, next core team meeting I believe is January 28th. Um, that would be kind of set it up setting up items for uh our task force. That's our meeting

in February, early February. >> February 2nd. >> 2nd. Okay. >> Um, and then our next joint board meeting is February 11th, I believe. So, >> okay. >> Have you had any conversation with Bayer and getting financial numbers back from them? Yes. Um and we will be there tomorrow at Bair. So, uh Elise is working on it. Did not give us a specific time, but she's looking uh end of February, March, coming to one of those meetings, joint meetings, and and having our our fiscal numbers set. So, um we will talk to her tomorrow. We will probably do some some more uh >> where can cuts be made more of that um tomorrow with her. So, but I know she's she's got all the stuff just recently and she's working on getting that in line. Something

I want to add just I just want to kind of shout out thanks to any teachers and staff that met with my HSR and or submitted. I think there was a survey, right, that they could do just because um we could read through the feedback. It was all anonymous. We didn't know who said what. There was no names. But it was good to get some good feedback and it was good for people to be able to give them real solid feedback without worrying about, you know, sharing their concerns. So I just want to say thank you to any teachers or staff who took time to get you to fill out the survey or meet with them just to give them information because it's helpful as they move forward. So >> So and I'm glad they

took us up on it because we said we don't care if you were dead set against it or all for it or or in between or whatever. get your here's your opportunity to get your thoughts down, right? Uh I had feedback that it wasn't long enough on a couple sessions. So I know when talking to HSR and Myron, they were just kind of battering around another opportunity possibly in the near future that they may do. So not guaranteed, but they they were talking about it because I know they had a lot of great information. and they're the people that are here every day, you know, so it's like their feedback is super important and it should be valued. So >> I guess the question I guess I have um is last time we had beard

come they put it up on the screen and they showed us financially and again it said it was strongly the the numbers were strongly from the advice of our administrators. So I guess is that what this is I mean have I I want to know what financials are coming back and where they're getting do you know kind of where the numbers is it going to be coming from Mr. Green again? >> Well it's coming from our expenses and our revenues enrollment >> but I think there is there's some forecast that we're thinking down >> there's a model that you that you have to put in the information already of projections of enrollment is a lot and staff and things like that. So >> and I that's is it just or is my and HSR involved

in that the numbers that's showing >> they they have done part of that a little bit. Yes. There's a little concern like being with the task force that's they said you know in the task force that will be kind of helping mold and bring you know some of the recommendations forward and that's what I'm worried about is when you say March too financials will be I'm assuming is we're meeting twice a month for three months and just so we have those financials so we see that and we can >> y >> any other questions or comments on the consolidation plan >> when we were building a ground tail gives us where square foot per school is in both schools and all that. So we got some of that information already as far as square foot

and what the levels are. Anything else? 5.12 discussing possible action on a JV baseball coach for the co-op team. >> My recommendation for the co-op JB baseball team for the 2026 baseball season is Phil Rusk. Any questions? >> This was a posted position >> was a posted position. >> Interviews were last week with uh Miss Main Chain and I and Coach Bogdanovich. >> I believe Phil coached >> middle school a couple years ago too, I think. >> Yeah. Good. Then the only real difference this year with the JV program is if you play JV, you will not play varsity. >> Yes. >> Motion to approve. >> I'll make a motion to approve. >> Makes the motion. >> Second. Second by Kirk. All those in favor? >> Motion carries. Principal's report. >> Well, welcome back. Um

January 5th, we were all got back to the district after a nice break. Um just to have a day on and a day off. was the snow day, which I think everybody appreciated cuz we were all exhausted from the one day. But um on our first day back, we had three different assemblies each at different building levels just to reiterate the expectations and to express, you know, to go over the rules and procedures of how things work and to really hit on the positive behaviors that we're really trying to enforce across the building. Um on Wednesday, we met with Mike Evans through HSR. He met with our guiding coalition team. Uh talked about where we're going next with our model of instruction, how to connect with teachers, how to um what is our next area

of looking at motivating and inspiring students. Um after he met with guiding coalition, Justin and I met with him for a little bit and then we got into some classrooms and tried to practice some observation protocols. And um so that was a good use of our time. Just a big shout out to our law enforcement uh crew that came in and had lunch with our with our littles 4K through um second grade. It was it was great seeing Chief Kista on the smallest table uh next to some of the smallest kids in the building, but they absolutely loved it. Um they all had lunch and traveled around the elementary to say hi to all the kids. They were shown with lots of thank you cards and stuff. Absolutely. It was great to have Chief Kabista

in, officer Shar, Officer Malachi, and Officer Barlo that stopped by. So, that was great. Um, Mr. Linder talked about this, but we did have a listening session for the community, um, which was highly attended. And then we also had the staff listening session as well the day after. So, it was highly attended. We had a lot of teachers attend on their lunch andor prep time and um, we just stress how important it was to get your voice out there. So we were grateful for everybody doing that. >> Yes. Um so just kind of as a heads up that we are exploring virtual learning um at our school for like a snow day or a cold day. Um so we will be talking with our staff on Wednesday during that PLC time to see what that

would look like. Um currently our next snow or cold day would be projected as a student day off. Uh so this would really be something that we were looking at for what would be our fourth uh snow day. Uh so the idea behind this would to be again to get a little learning uh on those days and be able to count that day. So we wouldn't need to necessarily add time uh to the schedule or come back um in June. So, we feel like we have a good idea of how this will look. Um, and those families will be be getting some more communication um from the school district here um shortly. Um, as far as elementary, just a big congratulations to our December PBIS golden dog tag winners, Avery Schlugenhoff, Fletcher Fitzmarice, Graceland Bowers,

Rayan Baker, Thomas Weiner, and Ben Franklin. >> And for our holiday break, our second through fifth graders went to Bruce Mountain and had a great time um going down the uh sledding or the tubing hills. Um, they were pretty worn out by the time they got back and I think a lot of teachers had fun enjoying that time with their kids. I remember 4K through first grade went to Hueie Hideaway for their field trip. Had a good time. First grade kind of got cancelled because of the no school day or it was too cold, one of the two, I can't remember. And they rescheduled for January so they were able to go. >> Um, do you want to add that? Sorry. >> Um, and then when we ended up getting back, um, we did roll

out our check in check out for elementary PBIS. Uh so for those of you that have elementary students, you may or may not have seen a sheet uh that kind of generalizes the day and just highlights the positive behavior. So being respectful, being a learner, being responsible, and being safe. Um so just celebrating in a positive way the great things that we're seeing every day. And this is for all students, um not just certain students. And we welcome back our students with a sheltered reality drum line presentation that our kindergarteners through fifth grade were able to partake in and see. And Steve push kindness through the use of music and we had a community event that night as well at 6:00 that Neilsville families uh Greenwood families and loyal families were a part of. Uh

they did a little practice after school with any kids that wanted to partake um and any teachers and Miss Mcarley was one who volunteered. Um so she uh presented with the kids um for the night presentation was it was a great time. >> Um for middle school high school on December 22nd uh we had a get together here with two of our senior student athletes um who did announce that they will be competing at the next level. Um so congratulations to Addie Wolf who will be doing track and field at W lacrosse and Kane Topar who will be playing football at W Stout. Um it was a very cool event with family, friends, uh teammates, and coaches kind of celebrating um those accomplishments and and getting together. So, it was very nice. >> Um our

middle schoolers went on their fry trip to Bruce Mount in January here. Um our some of our students have been uh access testing and fast bridge testing. Everything's completed. So, we'll have our winter data that we'll be going over here in the next week to go over um all the winter data to get our groups together and to work on some interventions with our kids. Um, and if you were able to be here, we did have a guest speaker for our middle school and high school students. It was do it for Daniel that talked about mental health and suicide prevention and was a great presentation. U, Miss McSurley had a debrief for the kids to do with their teachers afterwards to just kind of go through some of the big concepts that were talked about.

Um it's a heavy and very um impactful story and um I we got a lot of good feedback that was the kids really enjoyed it. So just the planning for the future Wednesday we have our trimester awards for trimester 1 awards at 8:00 in the gym. Um, no school for elementary on the 26th for the data day. And then we have parent teacher conferences coming up next Thursday and no school the 30th. So we'll have a busy week next week. >> Anything else? >> Superintendence report. >> Uh, staff Christmas party took place last Saturday at Apple Valley Restaurant in Millsville. uh party was very well attended and everyone had a great time until the end of the Packer game. Uh I would like to thank the wellness committee for organizing this event. Very good event.

Um just looking at coming up uh in the summer some maintenance things that we are looking at. Um the roof on the north end fork fourth grade looking at replacing that. um another round of tuck pointing and seal coating of of the brick around our building. Um we're looking at doing some uh sidewalk leveling of the concrete out in front of the high school. Um and then possibly uh elementary gym roof and then our basketball court. So that's what we're working on. We're in progress with Okay. Uh starting tomorrow, uh state schoolboard convention is taking place. Um Jess Sari, our financial literacy teacher, will be um presenting on financial literacy Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. So congratulations to her. Uh uh we lost someone pretty important to us. Uh what was it last week, two

weeks ago? Two weeks ago, sorry. Okay. Bob Meyer >> did a lot of things for our district, >> not only just in-announcing um and FFA related. So January 30th, um we will from 4:00 to 8:00 we'll have a visitation here uh p.m. and then Saturday morning I believe it's 9 to 2 is uh celebration of life. So Saturday so >> I think 9 to 11 is the visitation. Oh, and then 11 to 2 >> celebration is a celebration Friday night >> visitation 48 >> 48th celebration

life at 11 on Saturday. >> Oh yeah. >> Okay. Um so it it will be busy those two days. A lot of uh people in the building. So our condolences to the family. Special man. >> It's all I got. >> Also uh condolences to the family. >> Yes. asking Dave Dave was a school board member and a very prominent person in the community and >> yeah tough tough week two weeks ago. >> Y >> uh set meeting dates. >> So you have we have joint February 11th regular February 11th. >> We didn't know for sure close or open was 6:30.
