001We do not have the minutes ready from the joint board meeting. And uh with that, I'll ask that we please stand for the pledge of >> allegiance. Pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Uh there was no public comment for tonight, so we'll move into the consent agenda items. Uh, as in previous board meetings, I I'll look to approve 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, and 4.4 together. I understand you want to make a correction, >> a correction in the building and grounds. We are looking to put bids together for this year and the committee is recommending 26 26, not 27 for the parking lot. With that, >> okay, >> with that correction, would you
002make a motion to approve? >> I'll make a motion to approve for the building and grounds from uh December 12th, approve the meeting from November 17, retain and recruit meeting. Um the general board meeting November 19th and the minutes from December 9th on the curriculum committee meeting. >> I have a motion to approve. I need a second. >> Second by Nikki. All those in favor. >> Motion passes. 4.6. Financial reports. >> All balances as of November 30th. Um in general is $279,780.82. um in capital projects um $37,650.3 and then from the checking is $600,58986. >> Any questions on the financial reports as presented? >> I'll make a motion to approve. >> Motion to approve with second, please. >> Second by Crystal. All those in favor? >> Motion carries. New business 5.1 presentation by the student
003council. >> All right. Well, thanks for having us tonight. I'm gonna just hand out a real quick collage of pictures because a picture is worth a thousand words. And our um student council officers will be sharing a little update of what student council has been up to uh so far this fall. So, thanks for having us tonight. And with that being said, I'll toss it on over to Addie to start us off. All right. Hi, I'm Addy and I'm this year student council president. Tonight I along with my fellow officers and Miss Zaryie are here to share a little bit about what we've been doing this year. And high school student council is a leadership organization that represents the voice of the student body and works to build a positive connected school community. Our role
004is to plan events, support school spirit, organize service projects, and create opportunities for students to be involved and feel proud of Royal High School. As student council officers, we collaborate with students, staffs, staff, clubs, and community partners to make sure our school is welcoming and engaging place. Uh we help bring ideas forward, make decisions that impact the student experience, and carry out activities that strengthen school culture. Whether we're planning a spirit week, partnering with school counselors for awareness week, or helping decorate the building, student council focuses on teamwork, communication, and leadership. We want every student to feel involved, valued, and excited to be a part of the Loyal Greyhound community. This year, our student council has worked hard to bring new ideas to life while continuing traditions that make Loy such a special place. We're
005proud of the work we've done so far, and we're excited to share some of the highlights from the first half of the school year. Hi, my name is Jacob Schmidt and I'm this year's uh loyal high school student council's treasurer and the start of the 2025 2026 school year was one of our busiest and most exciting times. In August, we kick things off by highlighting academic achievement with reserved senior parking spots for the top 15 GPA. This tradition celebrates students who have worked hard throughout their high school career. We also focused on creating a warm and welcoming environment for the first week of our school week after school. Student council set up welcome back decor and photo op stations at both end of the building. These areas gave students and families a fun place to
006take pictures and help set a positive tone as everyone walked in. Another big event was our club fair rodeo where students explored different clubs and organizations, talked to student leaders, and signed up uh for groups they were interested in. This event helps students feel connected right from the start. In September, we partnered with the Royal Simplicity Credit Union school branch to host our back to school bash complete with a bounce house and popsicles. It was a great way for students to celebrate and kick off a new school year. Overall, August and September set the stage for an engaging and community focused school year. >> Um, hi, I'm Brayley Suda and I am this year's student council secretary. One of our major responsibilities during the fall is homecoming. This year, student council worked hard to make
007homecoming week exciting and memorable. We planned and promoted spirit week, created themed dressup days, and organized activities that encouraged participation in school spirit. We also helped coordinate the homecoming parade which brought together clubs, classes, athletes, and community members. The parade showcased the pride and energy of Loyal and was a highlight for many students and families. After homecoming, we shifted our focus to supporting the school counseling team with Red Ribbon Week. The goal was to promote healthy choices and positive habits. Student council created and shared daily morning announcements that tied to the week's themes, and we organized the healthy habits bingo activity for students to participate in. This collaboration helps spread important messages throughout the school and show how student council can support wellness and positivity in our building. [clears throat] >> Good evening everybody. I
008am Jonah Brad and I'm this year's Loyal High School student council vice president. As we moved into December, student council partnered with our pupil services to support inclusion week. This schoolwide effort focused on promoting kindness, respect, and making sure that every student feels supported. Student council members helped by reading the morning announcements that highlighted daily themes related to inclusion and positive community actions. Throughout the week, we also welcomed elementary students at the doors each morning, greeting them and helping set a positive tone for the day. This was a meaningful way to connect with our younger students and strengthen the sense of unity between our elementary and our high school. Later in December, our student council organized the Christmas activity day and continued 4K through 12 door decorating contest. Classrooms across the building are participating and
009have participated showing creativity, teamwork, and school spirit. Overall, the first half of the school year has been busy and productive, and student council has worked to support school spirit, involvement, and connection, and we look forward to continuing these efforts in the second half of the school year. Thank you guys. [applause] >> Thank you. You guys have any questions or anything? >> Yeah. Thank you guys. Excellent job. >> Thank you. >> Thanks. >> None of them want to stay. [laughter] >> Same. All right. Agenda item 5.2. Update on the NHS trip. >> Uh, so our NH NHS trip is going to St. Petersburg in Florida. Uh, you got the dates, Eva? >> Sunday, June 21st through Friday, June 26. And then they'll have more details when they have their own committee meeting after Thanksgiving. So those
010are the dates and that's where they're going. So, I would recommend the board to approve. >> This is just an update. >> All right. Because we didn't have >> I'm assuming they must have just did that yesterday >> from the last couple. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> All right. 5.3. Approve middle school girls basketball coaches. Uh so in a previous meeting uh Tony Wilki was approved as one of the coaches and tonight uh we are asking for the board to approve Alysia Alyssa Kitlika and Sarah Bratcher as two additional middle school girls basketball coaches. >> I would recommend to approval. I will make a motion to approve Sarah and Alyssa as the two additional middle school basketball coaches. >> Motion has been made for approval. >> I have for clarification. And you said they're splitting
011a contract. Yes, correct. [snorts] >> So that everybody's aware. >> Yes. >> I'll second. >> Motion with a second. All those in favor? >> I motion carries. >> 5.4. approve new course offerings for the 202627 school year. >> Yeah, we're looking to approve 10 new courses. Um, one of those courses being an art. It's a drawing two course to elaborate on what they're already learning in drawing one. Our aid department is looking at wanting to offer an agricultural leadership. So, it's where kids can carry over some leadership skills that higher level accounting, balancing, business kind of aspect. looking at separating forestry and wildlife into two separate courses instead of a combined course. Uh there's too much material to cover in one try. So she would like to split that into two. Um looking at social
012studies, an AP microeconomics course. So this is a AP course if you've ever remember the blue book back in the day when we had those AP courses. um looking to do something for our advanced students to get them challenged and then a macroeconomics course. So these are all college prep classes. They would run every other year. Um three more classes would be in our business department in advanced 3D printing. You probably saw on Facebook some of the cool designs the kids have already made now that Mr. Schiller has had that under his wing for a while. Looking to build upon that skill set. Um, he would also like to add a leadership a business leadership and communication course as well as a Microsoft Office certification course as well. And to wrap up the 10, looking
013at a math course for calculus, we just need one more level of math for our students that are on the math path after precalc to have calculus as the next choice. So those are the 10 classes. Can you just talk a little bit about uh how the course book would look like with Greenwoods? How how is that working? >> Yep. So, after tonight once their courses are approved and our courses are approved, um we are going to meet in early January to go over our course handbook to make sure everything is neatly organized and designed for students to take courses from either district. Um once we have that aligned then students will start choosing their courses later January. So that's the plan. >> Any questions on the new course offerings? This was a recommendation from
014the curriculum committee to bring those courses to the full board. >> I'll make a motion. >> Go ahead Davey. >> I'll make a motion to approve. >> Davey makes a motion. >> Second. Second by Crystal. All those in favor? >> I. >> Motion carries. 5.5. Update on our strategic plan. >> So, our strategic plan committee met recently. Um, Mrs. Kristen Aker is here to give you an update of where we're at for this this month. >> Um, so far Mr. Sh has done some started some ACP, which is academic and career planning stuff. Um, every other Wednesday during our get time, kids are working on different activities or things to get them prepared for life after high school. Um, today seniors had the opportunity to meet with Marshfield Community Foundation to ask questions about scholarships.
015In the weeks prior, students have taken surveys to help them learn about their learning styles, personality styles, and possible career areas where their strengths align. They have worked on updating their resumes with new activities, awards, work experience, and volunteering. things like that. Um, this work will continue every other Wednesday for the school year to continue to support these students in preparation for life after high school. Um, another group has been looking into more community and business partnerships through CTE or career and technical education programming possibilities. Um, some staff went and toured facilities in Whiteall and Luxembourg and Casco to view like their state-of-the-art facilities there. These groups are working with robotics and other highle technology equipment. Um students had a lot of excitement and enthusiasm and showed high levels of independence and engagement in these
016activities and these were things they were working hard and learning on. Um, we are kind of asking the questions now of what do companies around here need and how can we prepare our students to be potential potential employees for these places and what skills do they need um to kind of be ahead of the game when they come out of high school instead of trying to catch up. Um some other areas we're looking into are diesel and auto mechanics and then um also working kind of in collaboration with Greenwood on these um with the possibility of sharing programs and kind of leveraging strengths of different people in both areas. Um we're also looking and starting conversations of 18 to 21 year old programming for students in the special education department who may choose to stay
017till they're 21. um we don't currently have a program in place for those, but those students with IEPs or who are in special education have that option to stay until they're 21 if they choose to do so. Um so we're starting to explore what some of that could look like as well. Uh we have a stakeholder survey created in regards to the area of open communication, trust, and transparency that will likely go out to community members after the holidays. since we have other numerous um surveys out right now, we wanted to wait until those ones were done before we send out another one. Um and that if the board wants that information, that is something we'll share with you guys once all that data is collected and brought back. And we're going to continue to
018have monthly meetings um each each month before we present to you guys. Has the district ever had somebody utilize the special ed until 21? >> I think we have, >> but it's been a while. >> Oh, wow. [clears throat] >> We've had a couple students that have gone out to like programs in Marshfield like Project Search or Project Life. Um, and those are usually one-year programs. Um, there's also one in Medford called Soore that's another um one year. that one they can go through 21, but if we send students to those then we also pay for them to attend those programs and they're they're pretty costly. Um so if a student were to choose to stay or until they're 21, it would end up costing the district quite a bit of money if we keep
019sending students out. So >> I think it's a good thing to explore just because we do have a higher number of special if we can offer some things for them to stay and help offer them something. >> I think that's another area of working with some area businesses and and with with that. That is another area too that I think collaboration with anyone would be good between the two two districts having probably more kids than more energy and being able to offer more things. >> Thank you. >> Any questions? >> Yeah, thank you. >> Thank you very much. >> Item 5.6 update on our joint meeting with Greenwood and the consolidation plan. >> Uh, real quickly, we met two weeks ago. Um, >> last week, one week ago, >> tonight. >> So, we recently [clears
020throat] uh so at that meeting um Brandy committee gave us an update. Uh their meeting which was going to be January 7th is now in conflict a little bit. So, >> we are looking at January 11th. Eliza had sent out an email today to the committee. We're just waiting on feedback, but we're penciling in the 11th. >> Okay. >> And all of the ideas, salute, not solutions, just ideas are January 3rd to be in or >> is that a Monday? >> Whatever that Monday is. >> Yes. >> Fifth. Yep. So yes, by the end of the day on the 5th, all um all ideas for potential um name and mask must be it. >> Okay. Uh the board's approved uh a baseball co-op, JB baseball co-op for this spring, [clears throat] the 2026 spring season
021and then to follow as a full program varsity JV middle school in co-op for the 2027 spring season. Uh >> one point on that and we did that with a recommendation from the head baseball coach. >> Yes. which he was there and was asked and talked to or talked at. Uh there was a question on the resolution to consolidation when when that is has to be done. So I called Bob Butler. Um since we are having a question on a binding referendum in November that has to be done in August. So this would need to be done at the the latest would be July. >> So, we have to do it prior to the vote the >> binding question being out. So, >> which is fine because we talked about May, right? >> Yep. So,
022just giving you a heads up or a update on what he had to say. >> Thanks for checking with him. >> Yep. Um, next meeting is January 14th. Uh, and we have there's a number of agenda items on there. I want to back up. We had our core meeting today, this morning with Myron and HSR. Um, and we will have January 7th is the two communities have their >> listening sessions, uh, discussion. Um, so we went over what that looks like today. Um, so 5:30 to 7, January 7th, we'll be in Greenwood's Cafetum. And then from 7:30 to 9, we'll [clears throat] be in the Loyal High School gym. >> Mr. >> Yes. >> Can we um just make sure that obviously I don't know who takes care of this, but that that goes out
023on all of our social media, our website, our Remind, all that stuff. >> So, it will be on the website and Facebook page tomorrow, late morning, afternoon. I will put it on Remind or we will get it on Remind tomorrow also, just to give them a heads up. And then we will probably once a week >> continue putting it on. So >> just because we have there's so much going on between now and >> Yes. >> One more heads up on the listening sessions. They will not be live streamed. They are going to be very interactive and there will be a lot of downtime with people at at certain tables and it is it won't stream well. So >> I've had a lot of people ask what is a listening session and why should I
024come? So, I'm just wondering if either of you are have any like input on what we could say or what what we're looking Myin's looking for. Um, just because people are asking why should I come or what is it about? >> So, what HSR and my are looking for is any feedback that they can get from community members. All right. For it, against it, why, what's going on, what whatever they can, whatever they want to say. So on January 8th then they are meeting with our staff members and they will have a survey for our staff also. Um and then they will talk to our staffs I do believe maybe January 7th with Greenwood in between our our core team meeting and then that night session at 5:30 they're going to meet with Greenwood. Then
025the eth they will meet with with uh the loyal staff and what they're going to do is kind of break it down where they have five or six at a time that they'll meet with. Uh at our meeting staff meeting last week I just said if if you have a problem with it you just air your >> whatever issues or or whatever or if you have great so they're not solutions. They're just looking for drivers to help us to get as much information that they possibly can and they want to use the staff and they want to use the community. All right? So, they have an idea of what's driving what what is driving this. All righty. Um and they will uh this will all go to a task force um which will be um
026kind of picked by both boards tonight and then we'll be um calling these members and telling them if they made it or did not make it. I believe we had 18 and Greenwood had 14 interested. We are taking 10 from each with two schoolboard man members appointed. All right. So, a total of 24 people on this task force from each district or from both districts. Okay. >> Yeah. Just a little bit more on the listening session. Myin is actually going to start with their presentation um and kind of like Chris had said, walk through what consolidation looks like from from a construction not from the consultant standpoint. And then they're going to break into they've got three activities picked that that will involve interaction um and not not to give away the questions but there
027will be questions and then that's how you prioritize the vision that goes to the task force that Chris just talked about. So, so everyone will have an opportunity to talk as a whole or as a a group and then a smaller group and then they will want their individual ideas or whatever. All right. On a on a separate card. So they are really utili utilizing it as a information. They are trying to grab as much information from the community that they can and we strongly encourage everyone any just people to come out and voice and work on this. >> That's what I was going to say is that um this is for anybody that uh has questions or concerns like this or you know wants to know more this is your time to do it.
028And I think it's I hope my hope is that are we having in the gym? >> Yes. that it's packed because this is important and this is going to affect everybody here and I just hope that we have a really good turnout in both schools because like you said we need we need the information. So that's >> Yep. And they decided to do it the same night. So if people can't make it, a loyal person can't make it to the loyal session, they still have an opportunity to go over to Greenwood to watch or vice versa to listen and sit down there. So that is encouraged also. Um >> yeah and you can expect to spend 90 minutes there. Uh they have they have broken the time right down to the minute and you will
029they will utilize all 90 minutes. >> So so that's kind of what's happening with our consolidation plan and how we're moving forward with that. Um yeah, then they they will gather all that information and that'll be kind of our that'll be our working point and I believe there'll be a lot of work >> starting at that time >> starting in February. The task force will meet every other week for six six times and that task force will ultimately then come up with the recommendations that come back to the joint board for for discussion and essentially approval for what we roll out in early May. Okay. >> Any questions on that? Okay, >> thank you. >> 5.7 discussion whole grade sharing. >> So our discussion with Granton um on whole grade sharing is not a question
030anymore. Um they have decided to go for an operational referendum um in in the spring. So uh we will see what happens there and just we will work on our consolidation in the meantime. So okay 5.8 public hearing request to alter district boundaries. So this is day safety site and we just like to because our property we just bought this and um we dis we thought it was originally in Neilville school district when we bought it and then come to find out when school started that it was in Loyal school district. So, it put us kind of in a situation that we weren't expecting. But then we found out the fields all around our property are Neilsville School District, but our property is specifically lined out as Loyal School District, but our kids go to
031St. John's and Neilsville Public School. So, that's kind of why we'd like to switch it to Neilville because it doesn't make sense how it's lined up. And then we did when we talked about it, we're like, well, could that could we at least get the Neilville bus to come and pick the kids up? But obviously you Loyal is not letting Neilville bus even come and pick them up at our property because we're in Loyal the school district but the bus goes right at the corner of C and K there and goes the opposite direction but they can't come quarter mile and drop all our kids off. So, it's very inconvenient for us. >> Are we allowed to ask questions? >> Sure. >> How long have you owned your property? >> Um, July. >> July. >>
032Okay. So, this is the first school year. >> Yes. >> And on the map, is this from you? >> Yes. Okay. I'm just curious as to where where the property is. Is that the green green arrow? Green. Yes. >> So like where is the cut between [clears throat] the highway? zoom in. >> Um, as far as busing goes, um, we have an understanding that we don't move our buses into other districts to pick up kids. Usually that's a a call um to ask and normally does not. I I've been asked a handful of times and I've asked a handful of times and it has not gone through just because we all have an understanding of we don't want buses other buses into our district. So >> that's understandable. But legally legally a bus or any
033other school district cannot deny to pickup kids. I looked it up and legally you can't do that. >> Do you have that statute? I have it. I didn't print it, but it's on my phone. Actually, um [clears throat] the York Township, she's going to send it to you. She'll email it to you so you'll get it. >> Okay. [clears throat] >> So, your your plea is basically inconvenience transportation, correct? >> Yes. >> Okay. Mr. Le, is this something that we've done in the past? Like, have we had I mean, obviously I'm new so to this [clears throat] something that's been done before. >> I've been here 30 years and we've never ever >> just curious. >> So to not only to that, but even bus moving into like a Neilsville bus coming into Loyal District
034to pick them up >> is not >> I think under the open enrollment laws here. Unless we have an arrangement >> unless you Yes, the supers or superintendents agree on it or whatever, but in my talking in our area, we've had an understanding that you can call out, but it's it's probably a pretty good general rule that we don't do that. Like I said, I've had kids that wanted to get bus from here or vice versa and I just haven't done it from other districts. So, >> just a question if you take them down to the corner, will the bus pick them up there or doesn't? Probably not because it's because of the there's no house like you know there's nobody there's a house in the corner there but because they for an example we
035um 14year-old um we couldn't make it to the neighbors to pick him up because we had other stuff going on and so we told him well bus drops you off you just walk home because it's just across off the field. We got a call that night from the bus driver and it's like, what are we supposed to do? It puts in us in a bad situation [clears throat] cuz we can't always get there. That's right. >> So, the bus the bus company wouldn't didn't want him to do that, >> right? >> Yes. >> And he's 14. [clears throat] >> I mean, we as parents are fine with it. And you did your job. You dropped him off where he needed to go. the rest is on us. He's 14, but they can walk across the
036town and that's no problem. >> So, that's been a common thing is you get them to a point in in the district >> and then then yes, they pick them up. >> Mhm. >> And or drop them off. So, >> y >> I can't speak from I I believe that's the Nville School District because they have their own buses. So, >> Right. Okay. Okay. Any other questions? So, like I said out there, I said we will reconvene. Yeah. >> Probably in January. It has to a decision has to be made by February. So, um and I will be talking to uh Mr. Peterson from Millsville also. Um but [clears throat] we'll talk about it in closed the next board meeting and then have a decision at the next board meeting is what we're talking about.
037Okay, >> sounds good. Thank you. >> Thank you very much. >> Other business 6.1 principles report. >> So, we'll start with the districtwide update. Uh we feel like it's important to let everybody know what we are using the early release time for or what we're calling our PLC time. Um, so in general, the very first Wednesday of the month is going to be a 4K12 staff meeting where we give updates, important things that are happening, coming up, things like that. The second Wednesday of the month is going to be grade level PLC's. So like our kindergarten teachers would meet, our first grade teachers would meet. On the middle school, high school ed by department. So that would be like science meeting, CTE, like business, teched, um, and then math and English teams meeting together. And
038that would be the same for the fourth Wednesday of the month. And then on the third Wednesday of the month, that is where our teams meet, like our PBIS team for middle school and high school, and then our guiding coalition teams. and then also um people that aren't on those teams. We're talking about student accommodations, support um things like that. So that is what we are utilizing that PLC time for. Um another update is we did have a snow day last week. Something I feel like is totally awesome is we did have 15 students get together um and go help shovel out people that could not shovel the amount of snow that we had and the amount of positivity that we've heard from that and just gratitude from our community. It is truly special. We
039do have a couple people here tonight in the audience that are here, you know, that did help with that. So, thank you. Um, things like that is what makes Loyal awesome. So, thank you for for spreading, you know, community joy. And something as easy as shovel and snow had a huge impact. So, thank you not only to those that are here, but then also, um, the other students that were there as well. So, um, elementary wise, some of the updates. Um, we have our November, uh, PBIS Golden Dog Tag award winners. Uh, so congratulations to Otto Sherik, Kora Hagen, Maddie Stewart, Molina C, Trip Roie, and Bryson C. >> Um, also last Thursday we had our elementary winter concerts. So, all of our 4K through fifth graders put on a show with Mrs. uh with
040Miss Minders and Miss Croxel. Uh they did a wonderful job and a lot of fun songs to get us into the Christmas spirit. Um to wrap up December here, our elementary kids will be going on their activity field trips. So, kindergarten will be going on Friday. Um 4K 2 through 5ifth grade will be going next Tuesday and first grade will be going next Monday. So, a lot of excitement to wrap up the end of the school year of 2025 to welcome everybody back in January. So, um middle school, we had our band and choir concert on Monday the 8th at 7:00. Um kids put on a great show, lots of singing and lots of band music. It was fun by all. Um, on the 9th we had our pre-ACT testing for students in 9th for
04111th grade to get a basis and preview of what the ACT will look like for our juniors here coming up in March. Um, looking at that stamina practice and getting a good visual of what's to come. Um so the plan with that is to go through all the students scores, meet with them individually and then put a plan in place for practice to prepare um for that March is it 9th? >> I believe it's March 9th >> March 9th ACT test for our juniors. So um >> and then something new this year with the ACT, we are going to be doing the electronic version. Uh so it will be taken on a computer. Um, some of the benefits for that is, um, students that need accommodations will be able to get that read to them
042instead of having somebody actually reading the test. Um, which is a lot of people power to do that. Um, and then also with the scores, like we get them a lot faster. So, like the writing still will take a little bit of time. I believe it's three weeksish, but we almost get the scores back pretty much right away. Um, so we'll be able to see where they're where they're at. >> And then just to wrap up the end of the December month, our student council, which you heard here tonight, um, we'll be putting on a half day next Tuesday activities of different games and activities in the gym. And then our middle school will have a movie and a popcorn in the afternoon. So, kind of a fun way to go out prior to break.
043Um, and just a reminder to everybody, January 5th is our day back to school. So, we'll have a fun-filled athletic week for some of us off of our break. Um, and kind of get a little refresh, hang out with family and friends to come back in January. >> Yep. Also wanted to give some shout outs to our middle school high school November PBIS award winners. So, congratulations to the following. Um, for the middle school, best effort, most improved is Ree Buchanan. Uh the loyal proud student is Jack Atkins and the student of the month is Mitchell Coupeman. Uh high school congratulations to Landon Nelson who was the best effort most improved student. Uh the loyal proud student was Elena Smith and the student of the month is Peyton Wolf. So congratulations. Superintendence report. >> Okay.
044Uh we had our backup generator uh go down with some problems recently. Um what our backup generator does is basically uh power some emergency lights. So if it's totally dark, it has that. Uh it is a very old engine generator. So, uh, Brad got some parts to rebuild, uh, to work on the engine, um, including a little cylinder head work was $200, gas set was 130, uh, push rods, uh, 570, and some spark plugs at 12 bucks. So, um, we have our auto mechanics class. Going to put it back together. Um, and we will see. There was the oil did not look real great. They changed it a couple times. So they there's a head gasket or the head was warped. So they had it machined and so we'll see once what happens. Uh he
045is looking um for some something different out there. So uh we kind of looked at this for a number of years. So we'll keep you in the group in the loop for that. uh building and grounds uh met uh discussed the elementary school parking lot um with HSR and point of beginning uh our budget with the increase of uh special ed students and cost of hiring more staff uh to accommodate the IEPS and the difference in our open enrollment in versus out. Um we were only able to budget for about 100 to 125,000. uh the the committee met and really decided really want to make it a one one-step project and what I mean by that is it's all from start to finish it's done. We don't have a break between one year to the
046next. Um so H uh HSR and point of beginning are going to put out the bids in January and see what's what we get and at least be able to take a look at that and and go from there. but looking to push it very good possibility to summer of 2026. Uh complete control has been in reprogram uh the roof rooftop air handler for the elementary office area. Um now I believe tell me if I'm wrong Mr. Stagbower but I believe the rooms are more uniform. I believe there were cold rooms and in the elementary office area. So I think it's much more uniform. Uh I do believe they have to reprogram they reprogram the library. Um and they will have to [cough] high school office area. Okay. Um more maintenance. Uh there have been
047four units that have had berries go out. Uh we have two bearings per unit event. Um Brad had we replaced those eight at a at a pretty good dollar amount for the bearing like $700 per bearing. Um he has done some homework because those needed to be done ASAP. Um we do the company that he has found um we can get them for $100 per bearing. All right. So, local business. >> So, that'll help us. So, we are going to order a number of them. So, we have a lot in stock. They have >> Yeah. >> All right. 26 I think we we got a price break to $95. >> Um had two univvent motors go out in the cafeteria and kindergarten room. All right. That's going to be about $1,400 uh to replace those.
048drive shaft for the John Deere broom uh can be fixed by Hoover Metals uh for about 400 bucks was John Deere said they would do it for 16 a little over 1,600. So that is in the just talk about that today. Um, boilers will be off December 24th and January 2nd due to uh repairing replacing uh classroom shut off valve valves. All right. So, some good news. Uh, the gas bill went down 700 bucks from last year's month of November to this year's month of November. All righty. So, let's celebrate the small items. Um, election update. Uh we do have um both Tom and Derek have put in papers to run in their prospective areas for >> You're done with the good news, huh? >> And I said now for the good news. Okay. Um
049SCA uh state schoolboard conference which is January 23rd, 4th, 5th. Is that right? >> Somewhere in there. >> 21 through the 23rd. >> 21. Yeah. >> Really? >> 21st to the 23rd. >> All right. 21st 23rd. Okay. We have um >> Jessica Zarki will be uh presenting financial literacy at this uh on Friday morning that uh at 9:00 a.m. So very excited about that opportunity. um act 60 will be coming into effect uh by law which is you have to have some type of financial literacy curriculum in your school um in 2028. So we are well ahead of the game. Um but she met today and laid out what it looks like. Um very exciting about being able to having this opportunity to do this. uh kind of on the forefront of of um financial
050literacy and a little bit time to brag about our financial literacy program. So >> question has anybody from Loyal ever presented at the state school board conference before? >> Didn't do elementary teachers go all the time? Was it Amy Humpky? >> I'm not I'm not aware that I'm aware of that. >> So this is a pretty big deal. Yeah. So they get more requests by schools to present than what there's opportunity. So we actually put in a request. I encourage Mrs. Arkey to put in a request. Last year it was it was not accepted. And so now this year I guess the second time through it was and um these are um usually hourong sessions. Um they have them you know throughout the three days of the conference. And so this will be on the
051last day before the final session before. So I guess I would encourage if there's any board members that could come down the day of or the night before to to attend that part of the convention. I would strongly encourage that if you could >> just going to ask that >> Jessica is going to come is going down after school on that Thursday. So and then she will be down there at 8 8 o' 9 o00. So >> it's Milwaukee >> Milwaukee down to 10. >> The session is 9:00 to 10. >> Yeah. So >> Okay. >> So we have to let you know or can it be >> uh Yes. Let Eva know. >> Okay. >> All right. If you're interested, >> do you want to go by a certain time frame? >> I don't
052know. That's what I'm talking about. >> We can figure something out, >> but we can make something >> if you're interested. >> Let me know. >> Okay. All right. Uh, I would like to give a big shout out to all those students that showed up for the snow day um to shovel. Um, it was primarily city kids, but I know there's a couple that came from out of town that uh did it. So, uh, greatly appreciate it. I would like to thank Mr. Sager. He asked me, "Hey, would this be all right and I think that was a very good idea and got a lot of great publicity on it and a lot of thank yous, very appreciative people that they did it for. So, >> there were people in Youngville today that were talking
053about it that saw it on our Facebook page that have no connections here, but yeah, it was pretty cool. So, hopefully we can do it again." >> We will. >> Okay. Uh lastly, on behalf of the school district, I want to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy new year and enjoy the holidays. Thank you. set next meeting dates. >> Uh where so policy is January 8th 9:00 a.m. >> listening session January 7th >> 3:30. >> Would you expect the board to be at the listening session? >> Yes. Okay. >> And one of them >> 7:30 in W. 7:30 to 9 in. >> 5:30 to 7 in Greenwood. >> You have to post that because we'll have quite >> Yeah. >> Yes. >> Yep. >> Okay. >> Uh joint is January 14th. >>
054Yes. Um regular. All right. So, this is we're going to be gone. So, it's either I would suggest and it's up to you. I would suggest either the 19th that Monday or the 28th >> regular. Yes. Yeah. I'm sorry I did not say that. >> Basketball schedule. >> I got I got right now Monday to join. So joint meeting 6:30 calls >> what day? >> 19th Monday. >> Uh doesn't look like >> no no games right now. >> You want to go on the 19th? >> 19th doesn't have any >> 19. >> Is there anything with that timeline on the 19th because it's Monday? They don't start. Nope. They start task force starts in February. >> Okay. >> 19th work for you. >> Sure. >> All right. >> On the 19th. It might not be
055recorded cuz I might not be available that day. Just enough. No problem. >> Yeah. Six. Six goals. Seven regular. If if if [clears throat] the amount of stuff we need to talk about doesn't need to be an hour, I'll I'll let you know or when we post it, we'll talk. >> That's right. >> The bids open January, right? >> February, they were supposed to be, >> right? He he was going to show us the bid package at the January meeting. Oh, we're doing >> Oh, the bid package, >> right? Okay. The 9th or the 12th through the 16th anytime? >> 6th 7:00 Tuesday. January. >> Yeah. >> So 7 a.m. >> on the 6th. >> That works [clears throat] pretty good. >> Don't worry. The 5th is the first day of school. Yes. >> Yeah.
056Okay. [snorts] That works. >> 6th 7 a.m. policy you already took care of. We have core team is on the 7th as well in the morning at 8:30. All right. We got any other meeting dates? Good. Any questions or clarifications on the agenda items from the back row? >> I do have a clarification. The generator also runs the entire server room, which is good. [clears throat] slightly scared that it's still not up. >> Okay, >> fair enough. >> It does have battery power for a while though. >> Nope. >> Generator now. That's why when we lost power, it all came. It all stayed. But with the generator gone, we got nothing. >> Okay. >> All right. Get it on the clone. >> All right. Uh, I would entertain a motion to adjurnn. >> Second.
