006so board then will be myself tom odin as president harlan hinckleman as vice president carrie becker as clerk and dave klintzman as treasurer next we need to set our board committees and so there are a number of committees that in the past have been the whole board um so we need to decide if we want to keep that the same i guess i believe the first one would be um personnel i think that in the past has been the full board is that everyone okay with that so we're all part of the personal committee next one would be um policy so um because of the ones here kerry was the only one who previously been on policy do we want to keep that as a full board i kind of like how we're doing that

009yeah okay so we think that should be fine then as far as the numbers on those committees um so that will take care of our board committees next we need to appoint the official depository for the school district and in the past it has been the citizen state bank of loyal so i guess i will appoint them as our official depository so that's where we have our accounts the newspaper in the past we've um we actually appointed both the trg and the clark county press they both have covered our community the school attorney is kurt strang and i think he's he's been our attorney for quite a number of years or that firm has also been involved in school and then the last thing we need to decide is our meeting dates and times and
010that has been the third wednesday of every month at 7 00 pm is that work for everyone do you want to keep keep that time and day can we move into a different wednesday because we always miss lions if anyone's involved in lions tends to cross meetings with them so the only thing i know with um even julie with some of the reports if we it'd be difficult it'd be moved up earlier but but we could move it to the last which could be the last wednesday if that would work a little bit better that sound okay okay so we'll go with the fourth fourth wednesday and if certainly if something came up that we needed to change we just have to make sure we notified notify the public prior to that and that would

012business and the first item is to hire a title one teacher so i'm just i was in there yes so we had uh kayla harter was our title one teacher she is moving into our first grade position that was occupied when mrs or mrs steltzer told us she was retiring so we have a title one teacher that we need to hire we had three applicants we have selected one that person has been contacted i just don't have a commitment yet so at this time right now we were up in the air i would ask to give me privilege to hire the person that we're looking at if that person does decide to be part of our staff because if we don't then we have to wait another month in order to approve so so is

015writing this letter to formerly resigned from the position of vocal music director at loyal school district effective at the end of the school year 21-22 is with mixed emotions that i am stepping away from loyal schools because of the wonderful memories friendships and opportunities here i am having i am leaving my current position because i've been offered a high school music director position at medford medford high school teaching at loyal school district has been such a rewarding experience and a trying as well in exploring the educational side of music i have come to realize that elementary music is not where my heart or strengths lie the new opportunity will allow me to focus on and make new teaching strategies that are more suited for me and the high school music position is few and far

019they would get a dollar raise or a certain amount of salary increase each year so we need to we approve the salary increase last month or last meeting so we we didn't specify this in our motion prior so we need to have a motion to approve that longevity payment for those specific staff members that that qualify because of long term and reaching the maximum on the matrix so is there a motion amongst the board to on the dollar amount to pay those staff members we increase our longevity payment for the 10 staff members to 1750 for this year i'll suck it so it's been moved and seconded that we increased the payment longevity payment for the staff members for this year to 1750 is there any discussion on it okay hearing none will proceed to

021for things to open up again grades four five and six went to madison on may 5th the students toured the capitol building the museum and cave of the mountains the trip started a little bumpy because they did have a flat tire on their way down and they had to wait for someone to come and give them another bus but the staff at the capitol were very helpful and rearranged the tour that had been planned students had a great time and learned a lot that day thank you to those ladies who took those kids down there dance camp was offered to elementary students after school on may 10th by mrs teats and mrs shafto both girls and boys participated and had a lot of fun learning a dance routine that they performed for profession friday may
02213th is ag day all students in the elementary will have a chance to look at tractors and pet the animals that are brought in for the day students in grades three through six will also have short trips to area locations to find out more about the agricultural industry and thank you to mrs danabaur and the ffa students for doing this for everyone i'll be working on finishing observations and end of the year conversations with teachers and planning goals for the next year budgets have been completed and are now ready for mr linder to do his perusal through them staff is excited to have orders placed early so that hopefully those supplies can be here because we're starting school early in the fall and they're wanting to make sure that they're ready to go in their
023classrooms i do want to give a big thank you to the elementary staff for all the hard work that they've put in this year uh it's been a long year with some trying situations and they have pulled through like troopers and they have definitely made sure that the students they kept them at the forefront of their thoughts so i appreciate all the work of everybody all the staff members very much all right good evening i have megan's here too so i gotta just find it all right so from pupil services over the past um here a few weeks job olympics was held and was a huge success students enjoyed their day filled with many new learning opportunities reinforcing team building through activities and meeting new students from other districts we got some nice thank yous
024from some of the other schools for hosting it here at loyal as well too at the legion so appreciate the legion's support on that as well the school district was well resent represented at job olympics she wanted to give a shout out to our students brandon jacoby mitchell reinhardt walker lecterhand and ashton pagankov they did an absolutely outstanding job with all the students that were there they were thorough and very patient many adults at the event were also very impressed with these students and gave lots of compliments to the young men a big thank you to all the boys and mr montable for making this happen and being a part of it we met with the ark reps with middle school high school english department to choose themes for the upcoming school year uh completed
025data day which mrs pop already talked about and then completed the state testing as well over the next few weeks here coming up the next month they'll continue reviewing all budget packets from the special education services and support services with the principals meet again with the arc rep to finish out picking the themes for middle and high school setting up some professional development for the special education and title staff for the summer and it will be loyal's turn to host the early childhood teaming meeting among greenwood grant and neils bill these meetings happen twice a month all year as part of a consortium so we'll be hosting that and then finishing up with our fast bridge testing for middle and high school students from my report middle school high school so again as mrs popp
026talked about mr linder we'll be reviewing the budget packets then with mr linder for next year finished up our end of the year screening held our last professional learning day which kind of tied in our udl book study that we had quite a few staff that were a part of that and our behavior management workshops um i just want to i appreciate those staff members that took part in the book study and the behavior management workshop i thought it went very well throughout the throughout the year um and i think they got a lot out of it that were a part of it so thank you to them [Music] we held our high school honor roll and academic awards ceremony uh basically we were able to catch up because uh we were kind of slacking
027i'll take the blame for that we'll have a better plan for next year to stay kind of more current with the terms so basically we've have to follow up from last year the end of the year because we don't have all that done when the kids are gone and so we'll we had a role in that and then the other terms now with uh with three terms a year so next year we're looking at hosting kind of one at towards the beginning of the year and one towards the end of the year so we'll have two times a year we'll do some acknowledgments there with with their academic and certificate certificates and then just the other night on monday we had our final middle school high school band concert very well attended tough performance because
028it was mr hansen's last one i thought the students did an outstanding job performing in 6 7 8 and high school and i also give kudos to those students i got up and had a few words to share about mr hansen um he's a special guy that did a lot of nice things for us here and so it was nice to get the student's view on uh how well he was received and how much he'll be missed so i know he um greatly appreciates that appreciates that he held it in pretty well on monday night so um but i know it's tough for him as well too so over the next month we'll uh things that'll be coming up then we miss pot mention ag day so our egg high school students will be helping
029out with that driver's education meeting for the summer will be may 15th at six o'clock we'll have our final middle school high school choir concert on friday may 20th finalize our budgets we'll have our data day next week we'll review middle school data and then data from grades nine and ten we i will be wrapping up my morning collaboration with the staff which i have on wednesday mornings at 7 20. um so we will have one more meeting and then i'll kind of wrap that up for the year so again early morning for the staff they come in early they get to leave a little earlier at the end of the day it's been a great journey i think it's been well worth the time i joke around with them but i'm truly serious i
030love it i enjoy coming in and having that time with them when there's no obstructions throughout the day there's no students here it's just us we get about 40 minutes of time to kind of go through stuff and the things that we've been working on this year have been about building teams uh and what it means to put a professional team together and how we respond to things a lot of it has tied to our now our new mission and vision and our are kind of our push and our emphasis towards the universal design for learning so it's really tied together nicely i give credit to the staff for hanging with me this year and uh and showing up and engaging in some some really great conversations it's really been transparent and staff have really
031become much more comfortable with each other to share out and i think that's something to be said about the the people that we have here working with our students um there's really some high quality individuals that uh that work with our middle and high school students see let's see senior trip is scheduled for the dells on may 25th senior graduation obviously may 28th on saturday we'll have our memorial this memorial day celebration will be on may 30th for the the band will take part in that with mr hansen we will have our high school academic awards presentation on the last day june 3rd we will have our middle school academic awards presentation to include an eighth grade celebration kind of their rite of passage into high school that'll take place on june 2nd in the
032afternoon middle school reach trip on june 3rd and then of course our last day with students on june 3rd and we have some afternoon activities planned by our student council to kind of close that day out and then three last things choir our choir to include a few of our eighth graders we'll be singing the national anthem on friday june 3rd at the milwaukee brewers game down at american family field set scheduled dude um started around 705 so they'll probably be singing right around seven o'clock 6 55. um so i know mr oganoff is working through that um i know rick nikki wreath has helped out a lot with getting that all organized with busing and tickets and seats so i think the final details will be about ready on friday so we'll uh we'll
033have that final information to share on that on that day two will be our straight state track meet which we're anticipating we will have um we'll have runners there um that's that's what it's looking like so that's good for them so that'll be on the third and fourth and then lastly i'm going to be hosting a principal advisory committee meeting on may 22nd at 6 30. um so this has been something i've been kind of bouncing around here most of the year thinking about how to do this got some feedback from the parents that we had involved in our leadership team and um we're just going to kick something off and try to set the stage for having this regular conversation and meeting um once a month so i would like to open it up

035some of you may have had it yes so a lot of memories at the funeral so he will be you will be missed i would like to just to congratulate we had a number of of students going to state seoul ensemble on saturday all performed very well had a state aid competition uh not so long ago all performed congratulations and all performed very well um and had to use some of their uh skills on the way back where the bus broke down and our egg mechanics team fixed it and got them home so thank them and some of those were part that were working at uh at the job fair so great appreciation and thank you to them uh staff appreciation week our teacher appreciation week was last week we did a number of things
036for our entire staff they are greatly rep appreciated uh it has been um a tough and interesting and tough couple years and uh my hat goes off to all of our staff for uh what they have done um to go above and beyond and and do the work they have so i thank them very much uh i would also like to um sad to see i would miss michael's mr oginoff and mr hansen i'm sad to see these teachers leave but i want to wish them good luck to them in their future endeavors and don't be strangers so uh that's all i have for my supers report okay so we have some meeting dates um a couple things i guess just reminders uh next wednesday is senior awards night so any board members that are
