001to order and i'd like to start with the roll call vote please chisholm yes goldapski here palace here here yeah the board is in uh full attendance and therefore we have a forum uh report on public notice please mr seda you got it um public notices uh were mailed to the toilet reporter radio station kfiz 107.1 the bull wfbl radio and they're also posted in the district office the vp prospect across the dollar general and the municipal building on june 25th 2021 okay thank you please rise for the pledge of allegiance indivisible with liberty and justice for all in board packet the lengthy board packet there were two sets of minutes for previous meetings for your review any additions or corrections to those two sets of nets yes i had a couple on the may
00210th meeting under new business number six um it meant his administrative paid schedule was actually administrative assistant paid schedule so that i think that should be clarified yeah that's it and then under the administrative administrative report number three letter i it mentions that i addressed a member of the audience and i think the name was wrong i think tracy it was you that i said something to you about providing us with um the statutes yep and i sent them okay yeah it was listed in the minutes as a different name though so i just wanted to clarify that so tracy also morris is that yeah and then also put it in there and corrected that i'll call it correct all right that's all right okay anything else all right sir you may know that thank
003you so those uh minutes will be uh approved then as uh amended a treasury support please all right our cash balance on hand as the may 10th was nine dollars 211 ninety six cents we had receipts through uh june 28th um today which totaled 250 thousand eight hundred twelve dollars and ninety five cents we had some and then we had uh two million 700 000 transfers on investment accounts giving us a total receipts of 3 million 161 892.91 our expenditures through today we're 2 million eight hundred and seventy nine thousand a hundred ninety two dollars and seventy cents leaving us with the cash balance on hand two hundred eighty two thousand seven hundred dollars and twenty one cents our uh board bills to be approved tonight are pre-approved checks totaling 122 383.14 and the board
004meeting checks of 668 1997.66 so for the total bills to be approved of one million seven hundred ninety thousand five hundred eighty dollars and eighty cents all right thank you um the list of expenses and expenditures was also distributed in the member's packet do any of you have any specific questions about the expenses that were listed mr pollock i have a question for dave on the demo total the 200. are they done is that the total for all of it including the asbestos the asbestos was separate i believe that was oh yeah so the way it looks currently right now that's not going to be anything added to that company's okay and then dave how much did we get back from the blue moon oh a bunch of doorknobs it's a couple of sinks and
005then the only other question i have is what are the final pitch awards there were i saw a few of those for just 500 cash to individual those those are all from a separate account that's from uh from kurt's incubator edu from there oh just from the reward section now i understand okay okay yeah i have one the basement brothers recording the gym floor in here and i was just wondering if that wasn't the annual maintenance that's done neighbor was there a special issue or problem no that's a this one was a annual meeting every year um because of the warranty i decided basement for the first three years over at bessie yelling that wasn't the degree sand just so you know there was a product malfunction on the supplier's part on the finish thank
006you anything else hearing none then what's the board's pleasure on the total bills to be approved of one million seven hundred ninety thousand five hundred eighty dollars and eighty cents so i'll second all right a motion and a second to approve the bills as presented we'll call both please yes yes uh parker yes what am i click support do you have anything to report at work a couple little things um i will send around the um thank you note from patty milenowski donations we have um jennifer morgan 150 dollars plus a match from society insurance for the new band uniforms um loan m sales and cheese shop 45 pounds of cheese and 20 of it being all of those things they're willing to do more for any culinary class and they're excited about the advanced
007culinary course that's all i have okay thank you all right item j on our agenda is uh citizens input this is an opportunity for citizens of the school district to address the board uh for for uh an issue that you would like uh the board to hear it is not an invitation for us to have an open dialogue it is simply an opportunity for you to express concerns or ideas or thoughts to the board so first of all i'd like to say it's wonderful to actually have people in this room after such a period of time it's a little unusual but is any of you here wish to make comments during this citizen's input portion so i will i will ask you to keep your your comments uh brief um if more than one person
008is going to speak so yes sir go ahead uh just let us know who you are and what your address is please my name is rob murphy i'm sorry i'm a rob murphy okay and i live in the in in 9609 van dyne road in van dyne okay uh first of all uh i came here tonight expecting resistance because i choose my coverage thank you for not for not uh offering that resistance tonight i've also been informed that uh that you're not going to be requiring mass or testing or vaccination on children i want to thank you for that that's the right decision but i would like to mention that uh that's an easy thing to say during the summer season i want to make sure that you all are aware that we parents expect
009that to continue through the school year uh i'm not going to bore you with the information on why the masses are dangerous why the government's nature's going to go up and find that information easily it's readily available i just want to make sure you are aware these are the expectations of us the people no one knows our children better than we parents do parents expect you all to to honor our right to choose what's best for you thank you thank you mr perfect any other citizens wish to address the board yes i wasn't really planning on speaking but i would just like to mention something but your got your name and your uh tracy norris i live on cemetery road in van dyne okay um the whole busing thing i was just wondering if have
010any decisions been made on how that's going to run this year because this is our third year in the district every year it's different the start times the my kids are getting picked up at different times they're getting dropped off at different times if i go to pick up my one son at friendship i have to sit and wait 25 minutes in the parking lot for my other son at best allen so i'm just wondering what's going on i guess yeah um so we're going back to the normal start times pre-colon so that would be the elementary or the middle school high school will be from 8 until 3 10. elementary school will be 8 45 to 3 45. johnson bus is still our contracted busing service so we'll be working with them to make
011sure and go through all the roles i understand exactly what you're saying um i've filled in on bus rolls it's difficult with trains and how things go but we will try to get ahead of this and have a very as consistent as we can in the year so more so right but the big gap between the kids getting out of school is such an inconvenience for parents who have kids in both schools i just don't understand why we can't just have one big route going out and have the kids starting within a reasonable amount of time of each other and ending it would cost twice as much that's where we look at if we have only one fleet of buses we have ten routes instead of five so we have where we're bound to have
012the room for all the students that we need for busing so it has to do with economics plus bus drivers they don't have enough bus drivers either to do one round so that's why that is so we'll be like it was before we'll still have those startups okay thank you tracy any other citizens wish to address the board all right seeing none then i'll close the citizens input portion of the meeting at 7 21 pm thank you for your comments next on the agenda is item case superintendents report thank you mr chisholm just if you look up here uh unbelievable sports season we had the fall and the spring and then we had the spring and as you can see these are all students um from the fall in the spring together by far the
013most that we've ever had but those who combine that have got all conferences you can see somewhere in numerous sports we had two people go to state and uh coach drewes took them on thursday it was nice to see so if we woke up any community members uh with the fire trucks and the police taking them out of town uh but chris just missed going to the finals um but overall i was very very impressed with how we were able to get those sports in we had very little impact with cobit within the year um so a very very proud as you can see there's just some amazing students that worked hard that were just really excited to have the opportunity to play so just uh just kudos to them and also coach thanks for
014all that you do since we have one bad people here i didn't invite all these people i didn't know how big it was what would go on we'll get back into inviting all conference at a normal time next year so all right next one coleman 19 update um brit nurse bridgette can't be here today something happened and she's doing fine had an accident but she couldn't be here today um but really um as i talked with her we are recommending that we don't have a masking policy it goes away then what we do is we look and see what happens the nasty policy is that they're optional somebody does want to wear one they're more than welcome to and we won't hesitate and allow them to not uh but they won't be required and that
015we're going back because many of you heard when we were in the first session that we had new basketball going again we have a lot of great things going on um so really the coleman update the numbers too are showing that there isn't a whole bunch of things going on and many people might hear about variants and we'll hear more about if the vaccinations that they're getting are helping with that but i think when we look at the science we look at what's going on we're seeing a lot of success with how we're evolving into um going back a little bit still cleaning still wanting to do a lot of things that really helped reduce our flu season i mean we had the lowest flu season ever this year because of a lot of our
016different precautions and cleaning we'll keep doing all those but really update is there's just we're clipping right along we're gonna keep listening to what the county health department says what the state health department says the cdc and we're also gonna be looking at what our our fellow school districts and the successes and the difficulties that they're having and work pragmatically if anybody says that we're making plans for the fall that is 100 correct because we're planning on coming back without having to do anything different than being normal now if our hand is forced we know that we can go to virtual we know we can change things on a dime we know that but i told all the administrators plan in your school year as if we're starting normal all the books all the handbooks
017have the only thing that's coping related is that mass are optional other than that we're going forward and we're planning on focusing on learning focusing on growth focus on opportunities focusing on social emotional learning focusing on getting our kids and our staff all back and getting being better than we were before all right cool personnel update linda will is retiring oh yeah i know sam just put her hand on her forehead we're figuring that all out so right now we're sifting through what we know linda's done and what we don't know linda's done and uh we're hopefully gonna have some good transition and post that sooner and later and what sam hopefully get that person in for a couple weeks to kind of learn some things we need to pick applicants first zero so far
018all right all right yeah so we'll before i will be um and as you can see also if you go to the welcome back site which you can click on um i will go from here but you can see all the information for coming back all the schedules um if anybody goes to our website if they want to see that it's in the staff drop down welcome back 2021 you can see all the new staff that we have when they submit their pictures and their profiles so it's all there um and that's what we'll utilize throughout the summer so there's also and you can senior personnel talking about some others that are retiring that that i shared with you and those are including uh linda will julie schmitz another one of our flc evening custodians
019will be retired in august jordan steger did in june uh dave's already got a dave you've got here at full strength aren't you uh yeah excellent excellent so that's uh that's that's good news there um and uh educator resignations will go through there lauren eli laurie kent who is here for one day for us rachel martinez and kate marca those are our retirements there so we don't know of any more coming in or jobs that would happen but i can tell you just when you think nothing's gonna happen things happen so we'll be ready for that but if anybody wants to get an update on where our staff is and the changes those are all in on the welcome back site anybody have any questions personality and i saw today tiffany you had the trevor
020wayne was all there so the three new educators so they're all planning already went over with dave paintings getting done so it's pretty exciting all right um i'll turn it over adam you got a few minutes keep her brief if you will just a little overview of the state and the federal report cards as we start looking at those coming back into fruition because we're hoping that we have the ability to get all that data on a consistent basis yeah thank you mr stayoff so yeah typically i present to you guys our state dpi state report cards every year we kind of go through those once they're out for public consumption and then kind of talk about what they need and just give you that review so um safety with our federal report cards which
021have been new year within um third year so um but again with uh no state tester i shouldn't say with most state testing not taking place last year we didn't really have those reports so um just a couple things to note for each and i'll start with the um with the well federal that's up there so on the federal side they did put out reports the school reports all had nothing in them because there was no assessment data so um you know we knew that ahead of time but you know they still put out a quote report um for the federal sunday just through those are the schools not a district report and then they also put out a ide a report which is looking at our special education programming and our special education test
022results so um kind of those two documents that uh aaron has on the screen there which are sideways here so feel free to turn your head if you need to our elliott's good things to see maneuver in that but one of those is just a overarching look historically the bar graph one of the overall school scores and then the other one is the historical view of our i dea report so um chris and i chris schulze the director of special we work closely together with um a lot of reporting to the state especially for special ed and different things so we've talked to the dpi about a few things this year they're really impressed with kind of the things we're doing in our approach having the curriculum director and special director work together so um
023but again looking ahead to next year just know that we'll have that federal report again um and there could be uh federal identifications which they put on pause this year those could be their next year games we'll have in that state assessment results and anna would you just explain we didn't do anything wrong here was a data thing for the graduation so that's not supposed to be read but it was there because they they they can't change things yeah so those red pieces um you get one zero one or two points for all those areas for that idea report um so those red areas you see specifically the top two dropouts and four-year grads were just data errors um and uh because there's some lag data in those reports they were errors from a while
024ago which are still pending the reports so it just we've lost points there and again talking with dpi they appreciate our um our work to make sure that that's an issue moving forward but um always really proud of our district data team um we're ahead of most districts with trying to get dave to pull cleanly and it's a battle for every every district but we're doing a great job which i'm excited about um and on the state report card side again the on on your left is this kind of historical look at all of our report cards dating back to 11 and 12 when they started and we had a year where they didn't have those because of we had some state testings change so there is a gap year and then this year also
025will be a year we don't we did not have a state reporter what they put out was a preview report and they used our last assessment data from the previous year that we actually had state assessments so the preview reports really the the idea with those was to just get an idea of what the reports are going to look like because they're changing the look so if you guys have remembered from past years that the report cards up until now always have that same standard look and they're just tweaking that a little bit so instead of like numbers there's more like circle graphs and visuals but um you know very comparable to what they were just in fyi these don't correlate to percentages we're actually at meeting or exceeding expectations at every school in the
026district so it's not a percentage it's a it's a range so don't think of this as 70 out of 100 it's a whole different metric um and the big thing for you guys to know now which is definitely on our radars in the mid team is the the one big change for next year is they took away the um closing gaps area so they had four big areas that came into our total number of 70 or 60 or whatever those numbers are there um one of the four is changing which is the closing gap so instead of looking at the gaps between different uh economic groups or different ethnic groups or specialized regular ed what they're doing is they're kind of lumping all those students together into a bottom quartile so the bottom 25 percent
027of our students that aren't doing um how we would say good enough they're look at that bottom 25 and see what we're doing for those kids every year so that's when we when we talked about some of the highers we've had with adding interventionists that can really help that bottom quartile and really help to exceed learning for those students and then you know be again you know we don't do things for these numbers here but it's gonna be great things for kids and these numbers will take care of themselves too so um so just something to note i think that's a really great change because um we believe in our just all students can learn so it's putting all those students that aren't hitting that mark hey what are you doing for those students and
028i am very confident we always are thinking about all students but um i think it's nice across the state but now they're putting a magnifying glass on that and it's nice to get if you think of this every district is going to have a bottom um 25 or bottom quartile so every district is going to be asked and every school has to say what are you doing for those kids and something else just to add so trevor way will have a school report card in there their information goes into our district report card too so when we think about our newest school it's really important that we support that school and support those students just like we would any other building because that impacts our district report card score and the charter school score will
029obviously be public too and um and out there for everyone so that's why you know we just collaborate a lot and we'll continue to do that just because um it's good for good for kids and they're ultimately good for those reports that come out so so kind of overarchingly nothing really to report but there's some changes coming so we'll dig into those and i'll probably review that again in the fall this uh state reporters will come out so we'll see that new look um and talk about where we fell and how that compares to across the state and all those good things and answer any questions you have and then federal is typically later in the year but we'll go to those two and let you know how that looks so um and with that
030said there's a lot of info there but i know you guys can dig into that too but if there's any questions or anything happen to answer those i know that we'll dig in deeper next year okay comments or questions from the board all right so thank you adam very much i'm looking forward to adam and gary joe working together getting our new data coming up and get our kpis going and really get a sense of where we're at so we can make some really specific plans that we can review to see how we're aligning our resources and and seeing how our practices are working so since i had mentioned this before i thought i'd give it a second but as you can see so kudos to sam and matt and the high school team you
031can see that the class of 2021 did the same thing that our staff did last time they had there so pretty exciting and then i think for the board if anybody wants to go like and then you can see the educators and this is so the district doesn't send um like an update in the summer and mail they just our educators our paraprofessionals custodians all come here so this is kind of the what's expected and what the requirements are schedules and information you can see that and then when we have meet our new orioles this is pretty exciting so we've had changes they always have changes but it's you can look at here um you can see that like amy martin and tara hughes and naomi littke the new educators tiffany dolan will be the
032new principal at uh for traffic way uh moving the presentation building then i'll show you this like morgan we're gonna i'm pretending to be a new teacher you can see she sent me stuff that's got a little information about her and some pictures and things so feel free to go in and i'll every you know a couple weeks i'll send an email out to the staff to let them know that hey you know here's um here's where everything is uh and information meet new people and then this is another thing too that this is under construction but this is an hr type of thing where all the information things that they have to do to go through from bloodborne pathogens to confidentiality to all of our hr documents mandatory reporting all that stuff is right
033here so this is kind of the one go to stop and and if you so if you go to the website the way that anybody can find this whole page go to our website and then if you just go to um staff you can see welcome back staff right there we'll take you right there so anybody have any questions on that that will be continually updated and that's been a great resource for us to not have to be so dry and to trust our professionals at least cover everything that needs to be done and it's a great resource for us to make sure that we're doing everything that we need to do all right next um what i'm going to do is department and school year review so now all administrators one to two minutes
034one to two minutes provided some great reflection did some great things but one to two minutes the board if you have any questions of them we'll start um moving on our way up and i'll put up their reports um and then don't have to talk about your handbooks and changes like that uh but just kind of like a one to two minute overview of the year and where you're at moving forward all right so first one that we'll do is we will go to trafford way so tiffany all right thank you um in the report i just went through each of our pillars our kind of areas of our trucker approach and highlighted key things that have happened in our building this school year huge thanks to dave and his team we got moved out
035of the children's museum and i was a pretty record time it went pretty fast i felt like with everyone working together so all of our stuff is at presentation right now and we're excited to get out into the room there come august so i just wanted to draw attention at the end of the report i put our data that is reported to dpi for our end of the year state report so we did have 78 of our students making gains in math this year from our big year assessment 68 of our students made gains in reading on our star assessment our functional communication rubric that we report on we had 37 of our 41 students make growth from our mid-year assessment and then our parent survey we did have 92 percent of our parents reporting
036this time so 33 of our 36 families and 97 percent feel that we're fostering development in our social emotional skills 90.9 percent feel that we're fostering growth in our academic skills and 97 feel that we're fostering development and career and college readiness skills or preparing to move on to that next grade level so we're very pleased with those results for our families any questions how many students are you having this year we will have 60 next year excellent that's how many families oh i can count exactly i know we do have probably six or seven that are sibling families so i'd say about 50 families and working with the trevor board remember they have uh their own initiatives guidelines things that they go through and uh for the data and reporting that end of year
037state report that's something that we'll review and look at to continue that charter going they have the charter way says hey school district north fond du lac you wave these the stable wave these requirements we'll show you we're doing what we need to do by this and if we keep doing that then you'll still authorize our charter so far it's been going great we've invested a lot early and i think we're going to start to see some really big things happen specifically too with having their own home and i think we're going to start to see some real interest not just locally but nation worldwide and also just a real big thing the trafford way is not a school for children with ieds it's a school for anybody and i think that's a real cool
038thing that this isn't about just one type student it's about anybody that would like to can can apply to go all right well thank you tiffany and then i'll have your administrative contract and everything on the july one but i'll talk to that a little bit later on so we look forward to having you part of the cabinet thank you well done all right and now it's going to be to the i put the i know you gave me that lc1 where to put it i don't see it in there do i it's before the messiah oh maybe oh i might not have hold that character you got me there we go i just wasn't labeled in my page 101 thank you there we go all right carrie jones okay um just highlighting into the
039one to two minutes that we have um we had um amy and emma is someone who contributes through payroll induction experience um so we received another fifty dollars from her this month and the donations that she and her employers make to us go to our compassion fund to help out students in need i wanted to acknowledge that um the kohl's care foundation and milwaukee political museum also donated additional field trips they've been really generous during the virtual uh school year when kids were not able to travel so our third grade again participated in another field trip at the end of the school year to learn about butterflies um community service i listed throughout the year the different things that our students and our staff have done you've gotten these updates in your individual board reports
040but i wanted to just call attention to them again um some of the new information is the efforts um sorry the leukemia lymphoma society hero drive that was numbers came in for this spring we raised 6617.71 and again have received a decade of difference award and the rising star award is a returning school who's given who's shown the most growth in contributions from previous years the food service the food pantry um spring food drive we donated 12 or 1 242 pounds of food so that was a student-driven food drive just wanting to help out the community it wasn't anything formal that the food pantry had asked for we just reached out to them and so we could do a drive for a week and um loaded up several truckloads which was really awesome um cam
041chia i wanted to give a shout out to her she completed graduate courses and earned her reading teacher 316 license she plans to stay in the classroom and use that license just to benefit students in literacy instruction which is awesome so she just just brings a wealth of knowledge and again intentionally selects texts that not only support the lessons that she's but really mindful of making sure that our students are seeing themselves reflected in those tests and then the rti center i don't think this is on the agenda for later and dpi awarded friendship with the silver recognition for um behavior and this would be a recognition that we've held since 2018 and years prior to that we've been receiving the bronze recognition so we're hoping that you have to stay at a certain level
042before you can move up to the next so we're hoping now that we put in the right amount of time that's to be determined next year and we're definitely going for those same achievements in repeating in math also highlighted just some of our outside work that some of us are doing with other districts it's just um especially with rachel blocheck being able to share the cps work the collaborative proactive solutions um and doing some in-servicing with area districts is really exciting to see that others want to find out what martha like is doing and when they find that out they want their staff to replicate that so i think that's a very high compliment i want to extract a nicer than that just a lot of learning that the staff and students took on just
043really grateful for families and the partnerships that we've had with them to make last year as successful as it could be i'm definitely looking forward to having everyone back in a more typical structure than what we've had before that'll be exciting and also just some really good learning that we have picked up along the way um you know that we want to continue doing um we did have some families as mentioned in previous quarter report that wanted the option to go fully virtual next year knowing that that's not going to be what we're doing here um so i have been in touch with a neighborhood district as a partnership where the students can remain refined black students and we can count them but they would actually attend virtual classes through this partner district and still
044be able to do co-curriculars here with us so it's kind of the best of both worlds where we get to count them so i am still working up some of those details that i can share with you and then determine if it's something that you want to offer to those families it was a very small number but it may be something that you're interested in doing are you able to share sorry are you able to share which district yeah it's a big hill school district so they have a virtual academy that is fully staffed they run it with their own staff and they do a service agreement so that again we can keep the students on our on our goals so to speak and have them have choices and that's great we do that already
045we're the host district for lfi learning for independence where we do that already and like rosedale brandon campbell sport final act send their kids to us they count them so we provide that service already in one area and keele was kind of on a cutting edge of this even before copenhagen development yes they're well established um let's see what else they want to highlight just kind of looking ahead i'm not going to go through all of this i did highlight the bilingual bicultural program that are giving the number of students so hazrat will be teaching writing class she'll still use lucy hawkins it's the same curriculum she'll just be teaching in spanish since that is the language of students that qualify for this um but from a curricular standpoint when i look at the adoption
046of bridges for math we within the time that i've been here in the last five years we now have a universal curriculum for literacy for math for social studies and for science so all of our curriculum right now is it's still in place for another three years as far as the agreements that we have so any of the major expenses that we have other than the consumable materials that we buy each year those have all been invested so that's a good thing in terms of our teachers knowing where we're going with our curriculum having a universal k5 not having teachers have to scramble and find what am i looking for how do i teach this it's it's there and we continue to invest in professional development we've had our teachers going through teachers college for
047lucy hawkins we have some participating again this summer and again hoping by the end of next summer we have all of our k5 staff trained in that for bridges we're bringing trainers in virtually for this year and um have a good pd plan a solid pd plan in place for that and everything else that we're using we've been using already so excited about that for the first time to have that curriculum so really quick just unsolicited i was at a wedding with my niece corrine who teaches in the nash cashier school district and they use bridges she teaches kindergarten she says she loves them just so hey here we [Music] i'm very go so that is any questions what are your feelings going into next year in terms of shifts that need to happen yeah
048um for for your building specifically or things that you need um that's a that's a big question yeah um i like i said i'm most excited for um i think for everybody just physically to be back together i think it's going to be a huge adjustment we had a positive where even you know even though we had everyone that had chosen the fluid model back in march we still had one section for grade level that was the oriole by choice you know for the remainder of the school year so again having everyone back taking some of the lessons that we've learned that were positive lessons from covet um there definitely are a lot of things that we could do differently and do better that we've learned as a result of that so i think again
049knowing that our for me as a building leader i'm really excited again that our curriculum the materials the instructional materials are in place as opposed to that always being that thing going all right we have those in place our standards again the ela and math standards are new and we're unpacking and making sure that we're looking at do we still have the same priority standards but just really being able to finally move forward with the path that we've kind of been taking steps to lay out at the leadership level where and when i talk about leadership effectively leadership the mls team but really being able to continue to work that plan and start to see those improvements because again when we implemented lucy you know we talk about an implementation different curriculum where it's like
050you start to see a little bit of growth and then you're going to start to see that dip and then you'll start to see it go back up again like i'm excited to be back on the work starting to go up again curve and the math it'll look a little different but just for me that's what i'm most excited about for our staff is for those it's like those aha moments that our teachers have with kids we have those with our teachers too we're like well this is we're getting it we're starting to feel more confident in that space and um and i feel more confident in knowing how i can support teachers or where they're at too you know and i think that's what i'm looking forward to most is that shift of all
051of the things that i wouldn't call distractions necessarily the last couple years but between the building project and then covet and you know all these other things i'm looking forward to a year that maybe is fully focused on just the instructional you know that piece of it for for our kids and for our staff and not having some of these other things happen whatever this is actually states the way that it goes would you define going into this next year as needing to make greater gains than years previously or is what is your perspective going into this year in terms of instruction yeah i mean i think we always want to make greater gains i think one of my biggest concerns is has been just where our test scores are at and not that the
052test scores define everything but that's an indicator and looking at whether it's forward exam testing or whether it's star testing or whether it's fmp or whatever it is it's what it's really diagnosing what is getting in the way for our students here in north fond du lac that's not helping us move to that next step and for some i mean it's just really being able to dial into that a little bit deeper than what we've been able to do before and again some of it has just been like again the curriculum is not being taught being able to expect the expected you know it's like now it's like okay there's no excuse for going forward there's no excuse for why does math look different in this person's classroom than that person class from this person's
053bathroom we have given every opportunity for teachers to be trained in the curriculum that we are adopting in terms of materials so now it becomes is a skill or is it will before you didn't know now it's very it'll be very apparent and it'll be easier to manage expectations and like i said inspect the expected and will hold our team accountable and have our team hold each other accountable because i think that's the biggest part of it is peers you know knowing how to have those conversations with one another and that that's the other piece with me working with um lisa lesnar proceeds at six she works with to support our amv team and um we've expanded that to really work on climate culture within flc so she has spent time where again we're working
054on personal wellness and how to how to have courageous conversations with one another in a safe how to create that safe space to have those conversations first of all and then how to do that with dignity and respect and you know some people can roll their eyes around well that's just common sense but it's not and for a lot of our staff it's it needs to be modeled and needs to be practiced and so we're going to continue working with her supporting that as well and again i think that helps just strengthen the culture strengthen that accountability towards one another this is you know our we're we're raising that bar for ourselves we have to do that first before we expect our students to get there and so again just being able as an instructional
055leader to support that they're really excited about i think that'll help the students all right well thank you miss pat look forward to uh a year of excitement and like you said it's really fun to now like i think to your point sean as you're asking a question i do have up your expectations because we have things in place we should expect more out of ourselves because we're working on the work instead of trying to figure out what the work is so we should definitely see as we're going forward we do have some more consistency some more clarity and i think that will be huge so excellent michael let's hear about bands niall hi everybody um before i do my presentation i'd like to thank everyone from the board the parents to the cabinet to
056students because it's been a very hard difficult 15 months and i think we all came together to do the best that we could under really trying circumstances so i just wanted to be public and say we might have had some disagreements we might have some agreements but we came together and we provided what was the best that we can we could first connect to our family so thank you for that uh i did a scrapbook type of presentation with a timeline so you can scroll down i'm not gonna go over everything but i just provided some pictures that highlight some of our successes and some of our wonderful things that we did advance one of the things is that we had 90 attendance and that's to be celebrated under a very crazy time uh we
057also had a huge dip in referrals for the past three years we didn't count this year almost fifty percent and eighty-six percent if you count this year which is countless but the cheap statistic because you know it's the kids were there half the time so but i'm still gonna say you know discipline wise we are doing much better as fast as school uh we're building positive relationships students uh we won several grants this year the service we gave us a huge chunk of money so we can rebuild our nurturing nest uh and now our nurturing nest has gotten so big that we're moving into another room for next year uh the the milwaukee water we'll explain what the nursery investors might follow oh yeah nurturing nest is a a place where we stock personal hygiene
058items clothing and other sorts of like sanitary uh items for students that are in need the school counselor myself and others uh they get referrals and then we help the families in a discreet way so we have so much stock that we had to move it from the parent room to another room uh it's been used a lot uh so uh we also have the bucks the milwaukee buns gave us a couple hundred dollars to plant our trees some trees in the in the in our school that hasn't been done yet but that's a big positive thing uh the department of justice in the uw madison have a threat assessment study and the high school and the middle school combined to do a grant and we got 150 000 and we're going to use that
059for possibly a social worker also looking at how we can improve our safety and our building and so that we can determine threats and and make sure that we can ensure the safety of our students even better we had a mrs mcdowell sarah mcdowell on a pulse fellowship uh that's that was amazing uh we had community service kind of halted because we couldn't go out in the community in big groups so we did a lot of individual projects i i highlighted the seventh grade main day flowers we did like paper flower and sets and we gave the to the nursing homes in that area mike one second if you could go back there's this bria do you think that's genetically that she's so cool that you won an award yeah yeah agree there must be
060somebody artistic in this room because i feel there are yeah probably really good at making pizzas i'm grateful fyi this is shawn's niece so yeah just some you know great students that we have a lot of successes that that we that our students were able to you know achieve they they did some wonderful things um athletic-wise we had a golf team this year and the boys won their conference and the girls did pretty well as well um we had wrestling when the first like everybody on the team was a top three finisher or above when it came to the conferences we had virtual band concerts virtual choir concerts we did everything virtually which well i know you're going to ask me what i'm looking for for next year is to not have things virtually pretty
061much i don't want to see it in the video i want to see it here you know in person so just you know was again a very interesting enchanting year but we rose to the occasion and i'm very proud to say that i'm the principal advanced excellent any questions for me i just you know want to comment on the grants i just think that's so awesome and amazing and so is there one particular grand writer or is it i'm sure it's a team effort to some extent and then is there any brands on the horizon that you're thinking about um we always have like sometimes when we see a grant we're like okay we're interested a person does it sometimes like adam he writes his own grants for a target he always gets around 350
062a year we put it in front 21 and that helps for field trips so he does that um we samantha and i got together to do the department of justice because we saw it happening and we're like we might as well just do it you know and see what happens we don't have a grand writer it just depends on who who wants to do it and we're like that we don't really have one person and i'll bring yeah i'll bring the 150 000 grant to the board meeting in july have a good one and uh just to explain that more and i know that we wanted to look at and to recognize those and then what's going to be exciting is that gives us two years of a social worker 612. we have never that
063linda cressbach might be the last one and that was something that was early so that's going to be really really exciting so because we know that when people you know students do the best that they can and if we can support those families in the community those kids to be in a better place they'll do better and i'll have to give a shout out to karen dance who's our mental health 9th grader she's been done a great job this year at the middle school and i know at the high school as well so that's another highlight i wanted to kind and i'll even throw a little more what we have with our two school psychologists and carrie nicks and then we have a social worker on there with our counselors we're actually being able to
064support families that have kids at multiple levels from kindergarten early childhood all the way through 12th grade and we see similar needs i mean with those families so we can support those families with providing resources pointing to the right direction and when we treat the families it's amazing how well the kids also live so thank you to the board and also the staff for recommending and working on this but we have one of the best capacities to help support kids and their families that i know have been in school and that's not just by by cause and it's a lot of it has to do by finding grants being creative and we keep our eyes peeled for k5 grants and these guys do a good job samantha might do a good job of watching for
065stuff to come across so a lot of times the school safety one was one where that was a 612 only initially but yeah i know they both reached out and tried to figure out like where can we get something to find support too and you have to you have to look at grants and are in our budget you know i don't know normal houses yet but in our current society we need to look outside the box and one yeah one big one just fyi way is looking at possibly coming to high school too that would be another grant to plan for that so i know dr ed's looking at that so that that's another thing that could be coming so any questions for me all right turn it over to remote samantha outstanding um so
066thank you for allowing me to be remote um here so the way that i think of this is last year was our year to survive and this coming school year is going to be our year to thrive um so i tried to share a few things with you i think we tried to remind our students because i think during the year of povet you know everything was oh this was taken away from me and you know this didn't happen and that didn't happen so it it's really about trying to remind our students and everyone in our community of all the events that did happen so i tried to put these on here for you guys to see um you know everything from the musical you know that they were able to have the adams family
067performance they were able to have pearl cabaret and street concert in person and then to be able to perform at graduation um our national honor society was able to hold their spring banquet for students we had our annual academic awards night in person um juniors and seniors we got to supervise two problems this year um so yeah i can't wait to go back to one next year um our seniors were able to go on the sixth flag senior class trip um our incubator students were able to uh compete and did quite well um project grill was able to actually showcase their grill from last year and then the prototype that they created this year um our building trade students they were not able to build a house this year but wow we take a look
068at our dugouts and what they did for us in school and all the plaques that they built for various organizations you name it so there were some really cool things that happened um the other positive that i think that happened during public learning is you know it forced all of us to become more tech savvy so i've heard that over and over from teachers and that you know what i had out my game i had to get better at screencastify our power school um you know got better for people because they really had to put everything on their um certificate so our students that were in many of the tech classes received their osha certification with stephanie fox we had multiple students who received their third stage certification so all these things that students were
069able to do while in high school versus having to wait after school we had 11 students um which i think that's the most i was trying to clarify with the counselors but we had 11 students that were in youth apprenticeship and completed their hours and we'll get that certificate so that's a huge deal in my opinion i'm getting those kids out in the fields that they are interested in so there's a lot that still happened even though it was a unique year i think the other couple things i just wanted to share that are not on there so mike and i um had a request from a woman uh through the dark program that she wanted us to kind of be the pilot would handle care and that is actually something that we already do
070we just don't have a name for it but handling care is we're expanding on it is where if there is an incident that caused um that a student was present for their baby trauma um that a police officer notifies school not with any details not with any information but it's just kind of a pain just an fyi and a wound care for this student um no questions asked or anything but just to be aware of the you know that there may have been a trauma or a situation or something happen um so we have the privilege of listening to the pilot program and kind of shared what we already do and so we'll be partnering with that organization um mike also set us up for uh viewing the uh the right program which is reaching
071youth education so we actually listened to several prisoners that kind of told their story of like hey this is what got me here today in prison um some hard stories to hear but really trying to you know educate students to not get on that path so we're gonna be looking at ways you know or are there certain students that could benefit from hearing from some of these stories and being a part of that um like mentioned when we received the letter from madison we were thrilled to you know to make that application and then uh you know looking at something unique uh like a social worker that would be able to do something different that we are able to do right now and help support some different groups of students who would be classified as
072as a possible safety need so that's really exciting and then i think the other couple things just wanted to share with you is you know we had obviously conversations with staff of you know trying to get through last year it was a lot for people um i think because it started you know way before last summer that people were planning and replaying and changing and having to pivot and um just you know like i said last year the years survived for everyone students staff you know community and this your hope is really to you know to refresh uh to actually have a summer and um to really get back at it and follow some things so everything from our oral team is meeting in august to kind of review um you know we might have
073to do some different lesson teachings to get back on track we are going to go back to using our lockers like we did and backpacks and everything in there and um you know just really having to review a lot of those expectations and then the same for our scam that's um not only having that behavior academic teacher behavior or away team but an academic oriole team you know working with uh animal join us and i'm also working with lisa leslie long from cesa uh to support working on teams um just for our teams to become even more effective than they are so a lot going on um you know still we have it was really exciting to see our kids go to track um to skate but she's a former track coach so that that
074venue across is amazing so i was really excited for them to be there um we also uh like some of the other schools mentioned as far as training so our student support team went through uh the cbs uh training and then we will talk with rachel and with later to present to our staff um and fall in service um we have several people are going to come and present to us just kind of as reminders and updates and review so everything from the tv aspect to lisa to the hand of the care program to um the economic and in the origin and then also we have a trauma group that will be presenting on some verbal de-escalation techniques and um just uh reminders for everyone so that refresh and like i said just the year
075of thrive coming up this year so that's just a little bit of what's included in my reports as well questions coming now just really quick to say samantha i talked with ryan lyle today it sounds like um the perspective of getting through summer school we have already had students who got through what they needed to so they could pass their courses and then also we've had some that didn't weren't ready to graduate that i saw this one student d g that's sitting there that's uh actually working and i think we're going to see some graduation so just give a quick update on that yeah we you know we always work really hard to try to get students not to drop out and to continue um so have some emails back and forth of one student
076today so he's completed a little bit after more to do but at least he's there um another student we're trying we're working on but i know that he has a 40-hour week summer job and so that that is important to him but um yeah we're not going to give up on those kids um you know sometimes it happens that they refuse to drop out we did have a couple last year that just you know a lot a lot was going on in their life and their personal life and weren't able to do that we tried to leave the door open for things like that um or to come back to school and then i'm also waiting to hear because i do have one student that i worked with uh who has applied to challenge academy
077um chrissy xavier actually agreed to be this um this young ladies mentor um so i emailed challenge academy again on thursday and they said they will keep me up to date like they again are having to do things a little bit different um than normal but we will see if this gently does i just have one question samantha how did um open lunch when you opened it up to i think juniors and you seniors or maybe even more how did that go and what are you thinking about for the fall that's a great question paula did the juniors put you up today um well a couple things you know i just wanted to give a shout out to fury and food service here coleman she's just an amazing human being that um you know she
078was with us um the reason i'm sharing is like breakfast she kind of noticed that kids were not coming you know in and then pretty soon she was like outside sometimes trying to hand out records to kids or in the entryway um and then lunch she and i worked together to create two lines um and so that you know really worked well i think from a student perspective they're looking forward to hopefully getting more choices back um on the menu um really for juniors and seniors for open campus we did not have a lot of problems now we were a little bit looser than we would normally be as far as um grade checks and attendance and things um but no there were reviews that we had to pull back so we were ready to
079review matt and i will review those um requirements and talk with students but i yeah and so far if i continue to save the trial run that works well to let no kids know that this isn't it was also nice for seniors that had study halls that they were able to feed during that time um and i'm totally open to continuing that because we didn't have any problems with that either um and i think that's a privilege for our seniors they've completed as long as they're on track to graduate they completed all the state assessments per se um so they don't want to sit at study hall or forward to a phone sam now that um graduation is behind you how did you feel everything went well i think you know first of all there
080were a ton of people there so that was awesome that we had so many fun um i think obviously we had to get a little bit of you know the wind um and that was an issue but i had a lot of students who were just really really appreciative of having in-person graduation um you know for other people a couple of comments that i heard were like hey this is really cool we can bring our lawn chairs and we can sit outside where we want to now we're not you know tightly smashed into a little area um i know that there are several cons that were shared with me as well as far as um you know set up and so forth i guess for me personally i felt like the decor and that it
081was a formal ceremony went really well you know we followed exactly the same things that we did color guard speeches you name it um as we do inside we just held it outside but i have to say within a little asterisk there i come from again a school that did outside graduation so well i i'm readily going to admit that i'm biased because it's well-known manitoba lincoln for their outside ceremony it's beautiful and um you know i think we definitely could build on our outdoor ceremony but i will definitely you know work with with the board and aaron and others to to gather all the feedback and to look at what's uh what's best thanks excellent well thank you samantha appreciate it before we go to you adam and by the way i said one
082to two minutes have noticed they haven't been one or two minutes but well tiffany did but if i would have said that they might have been 30-40 minutes so i do appreciate it i think that set the tone so thank you guys very much um and here can you all of your observations i think are spot-on and i want to give a shout-out to all the administrators there's so much robust information in these reports that really by reading them you can even get a more deep understanding of what went on so if you want to go into the world of mike and go down the rabbit hole start hitting on those blue links and you can see a ton of stuff throughout the year so and then including a lot of what mike fettis has
083put together with his virtual concerts and stuff like that so great job so before we go any further i'll just give a big uh since we have lauren and judy on there judy do you have anything that you want to give feedback with the elementary special education and support that was going on that you want the board in just a minute or two um i don't think so i wasn't really thinking of anything to be prepared for i do have a seclusion report seclusion restraint report done that i'll share the next august board meeting and stuff but um just looking for a behavioral i should say neurological differences teacher yet and we have a couple new staff members coming out that we're excited about and some switches so just exciting for the next school year
084to happen and get back to more typical learning and i want to give a shout out to judy and chris chris isn't here right now i gave her uh she had a plan vacation already with family and all that so um she has her report and she would mention something about how great the uh the department is and how much they're looking for to get back in the community and do a different thing so big shout out there and um and then also just a shout out to judy i think we might be one of the only districts that has three mccues working in it so we have her two daughters one is actually one of our newer custodians the other one is one of our summer school assistants so it's it's nice to see
085your friends well it's nice you guys all seem to get along too so well done and then one more before we get to you adam i want to give a lauren you want to give an update a little bit on summer school at flc sure yeah um everything's going really well um the kids seem to be enjoying their classes and the variety and moving kind of you know among different teachers and there's a lot of outdoor recess breaks built in and so it just it's going well overall and just a shout out to all the teachers who stepped up to do it because obviously it was a really challenging year and i needed to do a little recruiting you know to make sure that we had offerings but everything's going really well all right yeah
086take it away awesome thank you um yeah i know it's the time people are going with the one to two i'll try to keep it one to two here and let you guys uh jump in if you have anything so yeah basically i mean i think a lot of people's a lot of great things already maybe i'll just kind of touch on um our testing time this past year just to highlight that but lots of question marks like everything this year with how is this going to go and talking to my colleagues across the state like oh what are you guys going to do for this or house is going to work and everyone did it so state testing our district went really well and um you know we had probably had more families than
087or definitely more families than ever before opting out of testing because they just maybe didn't feel comfortable being on site which we kind of expected so it wasn't a super high number or anything like that but um but definitely that was part of the biggest change otherwise um things were kind of went as as normal with that and very smooth no major issues took place so really thankful for all the staff and um administrators and everyone else that was part of that to help that go out successfully so um and lastly i'll just kind of highlight kind of moving into next year typically towards the end of the year you start to have feet in both school years so you're finished down here and you're playing for next year so again a lot of big
088things a lot of big expectations for next year um noting a couple things just some work with trucker way with a couple of their curriculum adoptions they have and helping the support of their work with things we piloted last year and i will continue using this year and then you know the middle school we have a middle school math adoption as well so that will be a nice thing i think a tool that we just had to change for me 20 years so they're they're very excited to have that and along with some other tools that help to uh uh implement our curriculum at the six eight levels so um and yeah and basically kind of you know i love sean's question about hey what are some of the things you're you're focusing on and
089i think the biggest thing for us we see really good results from us um you know within teaching learning making sure we're focusing and having kids do great level work so we know when they're assessed on grade level content well if they're not doing great little work most of the time or almost every day they're not going to be very successful and when our kids are doing that we see really good things in the numbers and they respond to that so um so that's one of our focuses 6-12 is you know talking to our staff about that and really having reflections and then giving them tools and ways to do that because yeah when a student is not reading that dribble great well you can do that it's you know the scaffolds that you put
090in place that the student can work through that and um and struggle through it have that purposeful struggle and then meet that expectation that you had so um and with that two i'll say you know i think against expectations are really high i don't uh ever believe an idea that we want to grow five percent this year and five more percent the next year there's no research that supports that slow growth model so i'm expecting really big things as we you know kind of like samantha kind of dig back into basics but we'll have hopefully a very normal year so getting back in with teachers talking about what students are aren't learning and then creating those plans around that um and yeah we expect really big things to happen because we know our kids can
091do it um yeah any thoughts or questions or anything for me just one any big ah-ha's from your listening session anything that was surprising or new or just more of what you already know yeah so just talking to some of the uh building model teams just to make sure we're kind of aligned across the board so that was really good getting ready for this year and um i think the you know the biggest things i was listening for looking for just the idea of um you know i think sometimes we have um we have life velocities going along and some of our building level teams but those dots aren't connected so things like we believe all students can be successful with say behavior 12. we believe that also for academics so let's make sure we're
092connecting those stats and if we're you know if we have those high expectations in one area it should be there in another area so i think again just nothing super aha but just helping them realize and starting that see that hey this what we're doing in this area supports the other areas and again even sometimes when you look at behavior the student might not be learning because of behaviors or a student might not might be behaving badly because of the academic needs so those teams really across a building across the district need to be in sync because they're ultimately going for the same observable outcomes which would be success for students so i'm so kind of just getting the seeds for things that we'll be digging into deeper and come back in august all right
093well thank you everybody um we're going to move on before we go to our biennial budget update today i want to give you a big shout out thanks for all that you and your team are doing uh trevor way everything that went on with uh colvin and cleaning and things i mean we were able to keep our kids in school for many different reasons and one of them was you and your team so thank you very much and uh this time you got anything you want to share about update on the presentation or what we got going to we're just we're well into our cleaning already for the year the buildings are uh further than what we expected but i'm glad to hear that because we got a lot more to do this year than
094normal uh presentation building uh as you guys can see the park is ripped down working with cd smith we might see some guys out there this week or next week starting on facing that part of the building uh paintings uh canon jaw uh ken josh should have 95 of it payment by the end of this week so we started on some floors and some other projects we got a little going up over there so that's pretty much where we're at excellent and just a big shout out to a staffing this is the time you also tell our custodial crew to take vacation they cancel that really is a lot of juggling so really excited the hires that we have and uh moving forward so thanks dave anybody got questions for david and maintenance and custodial
095congrats on the new grandchild yes yes thank you all right at this time danielle budget update it's not looking so good um i'll pass it over to maria but before i do that joint finance came up and they met the maintenance of effort which is the amount of money that needed to be invested in order to get that astra money we've talked ad nauseam and been also talking with legislators where that esther money is tied to specific things and it should be used to supplant things that you're doing right now there's a disagreement with that amongst different um minds in madison and because of that the money that being recommended in the budget that's put forward 80 of it is going into the school aid formula so that means that the school districts don't get
096any extra resources it just changes the resources coming more from the state and less from local so that's about 80 there is 20 of that which we'll see a slight increase in special education reimbursement aid there's some sparse state which we don't get because of what our district is and there hasn't been if there's zero for categorical aids and increases in what what i've heard from the legislators is hey we're going to utilize this federal money in two years will make it all right there have there is about a 5.3 billion dollar increase in what monies that we thought would be there um this is not done i can tell you guys saw you see all the information and i share you when i uh email our legislators and talk with them it's gonna be
097really interesting to let's see what happens when the senate and the house vote on this or the senate and assembly excuse me and i can tell you straight up that what i from our local uh representatives their caucuses are pretty strong they're not going to recommend there's a lot of different reasons for that we can get into politics but it's really going to come down to i think what the governor is going to do and that could make things a little messy for a while so we're not counting on having any closure on anything quite yet we're not looking at the world's going to be our oyster per se uh but we're holding out a little bit of of uh of thought to see what's going on and we'll adjust as we go marie uh
098yeah and aaron thank you you summarized that very well and again the joint finance committee is saying well we're giving you in our case about a million dollars investor free funds so there you go just use that um but those are one-time funds we can use them for two years and then um and what we're doing with that is we're hiring a couple of interventionists and um and also purchasing some curriculum that carrick talked about so we're investing in our students and trying to get them back up and and fill that gap that they may have suffered during covet so and that's what that money was meant to do so that's what we're doing that's the course we're on we're going to use about half of it in 2122 and then the other half of
099it in so that is our plan so far um right now and as i recorded a couple board meetings ago we're looking if we get no new money and we are stable with our enrollment we are looking at a 1.7 million dollar deficit so um and unfortunately we just our our new fiscal year starts on thursday and i don't want to be able to do because we'll make this work um our fiscal year starts on thursday and we don't know what our revenue is so and that's that's typical um this may just go on longer than normal if the governor vetoes and they go back to work on this budget it could be a while before we see and know exactly where we stand so um yeah it's going to be a challenge but we
100will make it work as we always do and to piggyback on what maria said we're going to we do have some we're in a unique situation as a growing district where you know we we need more revenue to support the students and things that we have going on here and with the three-year rolling average we don't see it we don't realize that as much also we've been looking at continually being close to you know not you know being able you know breaking even trying to figure different things out we very well could be looking at an operational referendum which many many schools do matter of fact i reached out to our assemblyman uh representative shaw and the response from them from his office was well that's what you should be doing if you want more
101revenue don't expect it from the state asset locally did he respond to you when you yes his uh his uh his staff no when you responded to the staffer they hadn't gotten anything back from there yeah they were still looking at those questions and really his hands are tied too from that's so interesting how these caucuses work and how things go within each one of the groups so there's going to be more we're going to be very strategic and thoughtful and transparent about what our finances are and what we what we recommend doing and starting getting the plan we've already met with mike clark our goal is to try to keep our mill rate very similar from year to year to year knowing that we want to invest in this community and that the schools
102are the core of the community in many different ways that help with property value that help with um you know hope with uh with retaining staff it helps with bringing families in so just more to come on that um and like maria said we're not doing we're gonna make it work that's what happens we might not like how it is and we might have to go through some difficult times so what you know we can do tough things that's all right but we'll still fight to make them better and i will keep advocating so and we're looking like aaron said we're looking outside the box we're doing what we can to prepare for an operational referendum if that's what we do um we've been talking with mike clark over there he's our financial um our
103our financial guy he helped us through the last referendum getting her numbers um so we're trying to be as proactive as we can and know what all of our options are that's one option um i have a feeling a lot of districts are going to have to utilize that option a lot already do what are the cons to an operational operation it's um well it's a it's funded by tech i mean it will cause taxes we have that mechanism or the mill rate well that's the building right that's the one that says we would go yes we would go you know how we have the revenue limit which is made up of taxes and eight we would we would um ask to exceed that revenue limit by a certain amount of money we would have
104to go through a cash flow analysis and see what we're short for the next three years or five years or however we want to go out how far we want to go out to exceed that revenue cap and again we would have some help with barrett and figuring that out so that's that's the con is is that it falls on the tax meters um again we've been preparing with that because the board has allowed us to over levy to keep that mill rate stable when we have taken dips so so that will soften that low for sure so we're in good shape and again trying to be proactive setting us up what i can do is i i can let you know that this will not be a surprise if we go to an operational
105referendum question in april or in november we will have discussed this ad nauseum and information out to the to our our constituents and our our taxpayers quite a bit so just give you an fyi a lot more to look at and our goal is to is to get as much revenue as we need to run a high quality school district and not go more than that so we're working through that so just an fyi so we're looking at a lot of different things and as we've done in the past we'll be strategic and open and transparent about it as we go any questions about the budget joint finance it's going to get interesting this will all go to the floor and by state statute we're supposed to have it done by thursday don't think that's
106happening so we did have it go all the way to october one year that was an early may superintendency i don't know if that will happen and there's gonna be a lot of finger pointing if the if the governor vetoes this budget there's gonna be the the republicans say look at now we can't get escrow money because you didn't pass this and then there's gonna be a point from the democratic side that says well you have all this new revenue and we're not investing in the things that we could this is the time to really invest and get up to the level that other states are doing too so just a lot of things just be ready for some really interesting ugly um dialogue for madison coming up we'll navigate that and continue maria has
107there been a um just with life returning to someone normalcy has there been a significant change that you've seen in hra at all or how is that expense going um it's it really has leveled up to trend now we have i've always been able to it seems like every year we don't use about 150 000 of it and that's about what we're trending this year so yeah and the same with our retirees it's people are going back and having their surgeries done now and even the dental insurance we're seeing that upticks because i think people are starting to go back and do things that they weren't comfortable doing before so yeah we're starting to see just about everything level off now all right well thank you maria um so just some other announcements uh oral
108fiddle's annual report that was sent out to you earlier it's also the board report a little down here because of uh we didn't have as many in-person sales but samantha said still did very well and um we're able to give scholarships kudos to kurds sean and lauren for all their work um summer school we heard some updates on that july's board meeting i'll talk more about administrator contracts a budget update i'm also on something with a critical race theory just uh it's not uh it hasn't really reached the questions to our district and but i want to be able to have on record what that is and how in our district what that means is it covered what's going on the reality of it is the district doesn't teach critical race theory it could be
109covered in sociology or upper level uh social studies courses at the high school but we'll give you more information of what it is we can we way out of the game and i think a lot of it has to do with some misunderstanding like the common core um so a little bit more of that i don't want to speak right now i've got some information thank you to the team for getting the information but we'll have more conversation because i know that that conversation started in the south and it'll keep coming north so we'll be very on top of that and our goal our role here is not to be a political pundit that teaches one thing or the other is to help every kid every day with what they i think one thing that
110would be really great going into next year is if if it works within the board members have different buildings that they support but i know for our staff it would be great to see what members present in the building yeah time allows i know i think that would be a great thing and i think it would just show again that we're we're all in it together and just give everybody that feeling that it's not a board and then an admin and then a staff so as we work on culture and climate i think that piece is going to be really helpful that'd be cool and i could come and help because i think you you guys would love seeing stuff in action in the different areas and i think we're at that level right now
111with expertise and the trust that we have amongst with the board administration that that would be really cool great great point and get the traffic lake at the high school middle school elementary get over there and see that early childhood and liz's program phoenix academy in action great idea thank you both thanks for having me we do pass the baton now to you president chisholm all right thank you very much adam l items of new business number one discuss and consider ending the emergency masking policy i'm talking with bridget and i and seeing what's going on around we don't need that policy anymore if we ever have to go to face coverings again for whatever reason we would have a meeting and discuss that consider that but at this point time i think it's appropriate
112to retire that policy and just continue to have signs and allow people to wear masks they feel they they want is the policy twilight at the end of this month that's what we have said last month so yeah so not officially though it's just it's in effect it didn't have a sunset on it's just in effect we said last month that we would probably be doing it or we would be doing it this month if everything stayed the same so i just wanted to clarify what yep so i think it's a good message for the community that let's just let's retire this masking policy knowing that if somebody would like to it's optional and if something happens and we see cases tick up or we see something happen we'll revisit that have an opportunity to
113have that conversation and do things but i think this is a good move to let the community know we're moving forward with being as normal as we possibly can and we're looking at what's going on now people who want to get the vaccine have gotten it those who don't want it aren't getting it and we can still look at the health care how it's stressing on our health healthcare or not um so i think i think this is the right thing so would you like board action to officially end the masking policy as a with the caveat that it's just that they're optional and you can't wear one we're just saying you don't have to wear one we no longer have an official face covering pumps do you want to do you want that language
114to end today or during the month do it today and like we've done it i want to thank the board because we did this samantha and i had a conversation with nurse bridget if you notice that graduation mass were totally optional that was something that came up and then i talked to mr bridget we actually stopped using mass before summer school even started because we were looking at all the information if it wasn't for the foresight and the authority that the board gave to me we would have had to come back and look at doing that with board action so i do really appreciate the trust that you put nurse bridget the leadership team myself in order to be that flexible move forward that was huge so thank you all right based on that in
115the discussion then i'd entertain a motion that we uh end the emergency masking policy effective uh immediately i will make that motion i'll second that p all right we have a motion and second to uh end the emergency masking policy as of today any further questions or discussion seeing none roll call vote please gobotsky yes palik yes step backer yes chism yes hack yes motion carries number two discuss and consider school and co-curricular handbooks these were provided to you um the middle school and the high school uh i'll let each one say i'll just give you some overview really uh there hasn't been a lot of changes i appreciate what's going in there lauren would you uncover please for a second i give a big shout out to lauren i was talking with carrie joe
116about how the friendship looks your formatting and everything's wonderful so great job kudos we really appreciate that some good work on that um mike really love how you put the community you know and i went here a little bit from there so uh and then with the co-curriculars there's zero changes we just changed the date so that's it so what i'll do is i'll turn it over right now to uh we'll go with friendship so lauren and kerry joe if you want to explain a little bit about anything in the friendship one so the handbooks themselves are in the elementary handbook is similar um to what it has done again prior to open as aaron said the formatting looks a little bit different i think it's it's much more in line with the other communications
117that we have as far as our website and some of the other things we've been doing to make it more elementary friendly but still provide the information um again i don't know lauren if there's anything in particular that you can think of to call out but i think there's you know again from the other formatting i don't think there's a whole lot different other than we just reverted back to our pre-copied version yeah i agree um i think you know the the attendance policy piece just some of the worrying um was changed just a little bit to kind of fit uh stl philosophy and then again you know when we're reaching out to our families we're really just trying to be proactive and you know encourage that communication as much as possible uh but like
118kerry joe said it's a lot of the same information just hopefully a little bit more parent-friendly i really like the pictures i think that kind of helps give it more of a personal touch too we are going to provide snack again to students this year but something that we did last year just it helps make sure that everyone has a snack it helps with the management of snack time and having everyone have something similar so i think that probably cut out a whole bunch of pages in the handbook too because i want to say if i remember probably the list of five pages this is a healthy snack this is not a healthy snack so things that go way back this is a condensed a much more precise and concise version of the all right
119any questions on the flc handbook i see that the uh in the handbook breakfast and lunch is going to be provided for all families in flc yeah does that extend all the way through next june once again no cost for everybody for flc only or day 12. oh everything okay right so we will have breakfast in the classroom again that was something that we used to have kids come in prior to the school day starting if they wanted to have breakfast they'd have it in the cafeteria that created that's one of the pros of coconut i guess is we got to move breakfast to the classrooms and i guess it's a pro depending on who you ask but dave and his team have done great julie and aramark team have done great but for us
120it really gets the day started well when all of the kids are having breakfast at the same time if they choose to have breakfast versus some would come in at 8 15 when or 8 25 or 8 30 or someone come in at 8 45 and you know breakfast it was just chaotic so at this point the breakfast is in the classroom for the kids that want to have it we do our oreo away time our morning routine and everything while the kids are having breakfast for those that aren't having it it's not a big deal there's other things they can do in the classroom um but again because it's something that's available to everyone we don't have to worry about well can i have this can i not um the only thing that is
121so we provide snapchatting that families would potentially would need to pay for if they're interested is snack time milk is not included in the waivers so if a family doesn't want their child to have milk during snack that is something that they do need to pay for um and it's in here somewhere but it's a minimal cost but otherwise lunch with milk breakfast with milk always included so we're excited about that excellent all right now let's go into the middle school handbook and it is not called the middle school handbook bike anymore let's talk about that we named the band's community handbook because not only do students pass this information but insulting parents and staff so here community therefore it was renamed to the community uh anything in yellow has been changed um parent notice
122is just i added towards parent notice so that parents can know that that's just for them and mike can you just stop for one second because i think this is a great thing i just want to touch on for the whole district we have in all the handbooks we don't have parents signed permission to use have pictures their kids taken for on the website or anything they have to opt out now we're very clear we don't say oh eric ethan say it off 1801 creekview drive look at how he smile we don't say that but we do use we this allows us to have the press come in for us to share pictures and to be that so we do an opt-out instead of a sign an opt-in if we have people come like you
123might have seen us on tv channel 11 came down did some stuff we have the ability to do that we asked at the offices we have very few staff principals do we really have many people who opt out of having their kid shown and we're very careful that we don't give personal information so thanks mike for letting me take that time that's just a mis understanding sometimes but that's how we roll it and i think we're not used to highlighted that to that point of emphasis uh our staff uh took at least two months to review this handbook and make some changes and that's what you see here today of course uh i put forth attendance uh in terms of destiny because we now have a student that works with the middle school uh we
124had to clarify the late policy uh the the target policy when it comes to how many minutes they are made to class if they're late like three or more minutes to that class then they can be considered for that class we have some big rule followers of different interests yeah uh just a point of clarification and then just basically it's pretty much the same handle before coping we just make some minor changes um nothing really makes up the report um the backpacks we're gonna allow them in the classrooms as long as they're placed in the location that doesn't interfere with the student traffic and or fire safety codes um we're gonna try that and if it doesn't work we can obviously change that um i can't read that although this one i think is really
125good mike just clarifies that if a staff member thinks that a clothing is disruptive then that's how we go through we're learning a lot of things about that there was tinker back in the day vietnam so just know that inappropriate is kind of difficult to define and plus it's the intent of what the kids are wearing sometimes and if it isn't inappropriate or not so what we do is work with families and stuff from the get-go if we see something so it all yeah we have a bullet point list of things and that got us into like really difficult waters to charter and we came up with this simple paragraph that is easy to explain to everybody we don't want to be like oh this is one inch of a half a top but we
126we're getting to those are stupid so let's continue basically the same before i provide the schedule the details on schedule our roster that might change when we hire a new el teacher uh and then i added this this is new which is our layout on drop off and pick up did you draw that no it's brenda amanda fast shout out to brenda and then basically just links to uh important documents that will be some of them are already live hey mike just not a lighter note samantha maybe joe you guys can chime in even though we have these specific ways of where people are supposed to be dropped off and how it's supposed to work on a scale of one to ten how are you sure that it will be handled all the time parents
127will always listen one or point five maybe four yeah zero interesting but we'll keep getting keep going have a nice night so i just i can't just make a comment on this handbook you had scented early and included the board and so i apologize for just not getting to it but and and and bessie allen was the only one that i really dug into so far i'm trying to chip away at the other ones but one of the things that i just wanted to ask about about because this is an area near and dear to me is the harassment section um can we put um can we like interweave online harassment in there because i didn't read anything about online harassment and i think dudley at middle school that's important and then in the um
128non-discrimination section i feel like we're missing religion that's not listed in there and i think under title 6 and title 7 we need to include religion but i'm not sure and then um what else did i want to point out oh and then i was thinking again i'm not the expert on this so it's just my perception but i think we need to remove the word handicap um we should just be using the word consistent with federal law which is disability but i think handicapped in my mind is a is an older uh term in language and so i that was just the feedback that i had in that session and i'm sorry i will keep looking at it and look at all the other ones as well well if i can point this out
129i think this is something that we you know with the board passing you know i'm going to ask aboard the passes tonight those won't be anything that will have a change in the intent of the books so as we go with that paul and you're looking at that from your lens and it's really great to have that lens that then you just give some feedback and we can make adjustments as needed and the feeling that's probably this like that section i know it refers to creed and somebody so again if we need to tweak that but i think that section is probably lifted in into each of ours because i know that was like some of those like this is the language we inherited and it probably hasn't been touched if you will so yeah
130there's stuff that that would be noted it's probably those some of those things may be consistent so if you don't mind follows you have time because we do it i mean because we're not gonna we'll publish these but we can get them out you know towards july if you have any feedback just you know just go through it just let go directly we do have to translate them into spanish so so just from that standpoint of when we wouldn't want to start translating until we know they're done let us know when they've got the thumbs up to start translating that'd be good and that takes time too mike i just want to thank you for highlighting the changes i know that we've done that typically in the past and that's really important even this year
131with minor changes or little when i'm reading through them i'm thinking well wait a minute is this new now i don't remember that and to be able to just know that it because it's highlighted in yellow or some other manner that this is new this year that really helps and what we'll do to steve to that point is we've gotten with things that have gone on normally we'll have a one-page summary of what the changes are kind of got behind the eight ball a little bit i want to make sure that we got these in there so well definitely i think this is a really good learning opportunity also for the board and the community to know what's expected of our kids and for the most part we're looking at like 95 of them are
132the same but to paul's point too you know we don't know what we don't know and if there's some things that we can change to be better that'd be awesome so we'll get back into that practice all right moving forward now we have samantha all right and i hope you guys can hear me in here because i keep cutting out um so the reason i did do that page steve is really everything from mine is taken all out of our code and it is back to what it was prior so the only real change that we have is like my welcome paragraph and we get new staff but we have talked about as a staff we do not want backpacks in classrooms we'll be back in anywhere from 25 to 30 kids we did not
133feel that that was going to work for us and to be honest if a backpack is in our classroom our boys in our classroom and we really have to get back to being rigorous with the phone issue it really became a problem this spring so um really going back to pre-covered policies of future locker and our past system and all of our real way expectations as before um so that's why i did not include a one page because it really did not happen i mean the past couple years we've really gone through that handbook um i agree with kerry jones and paula on to look at my beginning statement because so we definitely could review that as a group uh to make sure that that language is appropriate um yeah so that is just another
134big shout out to samantha so when they registered also with mike in middle school in elementary no longer do we have parents and uh our students sign things it's all through right on skyward so it's really good so thank you any questions for samantha what i really what i'm excited about is we're going back to where we work so a lot of it is where we're at before with even some work like mike said they're adding backpacks they can take it out um i'm looking forward to you know like maybe when samantha would look at the junior and senior open lunch that's not part of this it's part of a ancillary thing that maybe can become part of it so i really feel good about where we're moving and we always want to make them
135smaller and smaller the more and more that we can but sometimes we have to make them spelled out because we get called on that it's good for clarity so and then with the co-curricular uh that's there is no changes in that whatsoever so except for that date up front right there and board approved if it happens that's there too all right anything else uh from anybody then tiffany with the trafford you pass yours through your board if you ever want to share you can but that's not necessary here since you have your own board that you go through you have to follow district policy so we're not trying to leave you out it's just it doesn't really matter to the board to make action on that because your own board takes action just fyi the
136board too that's not you don't have to have that responsibility to have their own board that's what i have then president all right so uh based on that then i'd entertain a motion that uh minor editorial edits that we adopt the school and co-curricular handbooks can make that motion to approve a second all right motion and second to approve the school and co-curricular handbooks uh further questions or discussion seeing enroll call vote please yes yes chism yes hack yes motion carries number three discussion consider educator resignations all right so board members i pass this out the general public doesn't have this it's because it has a lot of personnel names and things like that this is what i'm going to start to do this is what normal practice is because i'm not going to put
137an agenda you have this it's all open people under here but the resignations weren't key like i got a new position in merrell school district which is a i think it's called bridges too it's a virtual academy there so she really shined to the virtual system so she's moving there lori ken was here for so lori ken was here for uh that one day and then she had she really wanted to stay where she was at so she put in a resignation um and then rachel martinez a new position while with tulsa school district which is close to where her family is so i would ask the board also just if you give me that we would waive that that contract breaking fee we knew she was applying i gave her the advice you should
138sign just so you're under contract by the certain time june 15th so i would say with uh with lauren she never turned hers in laura she did and that caused something so that i know i i'm not going to ask for that vote for rachel i'll ask to waive that since we knew she's going there and then kate never signed her contract and just resigned and moving on to something else okay so is everybody okay with you not asking after rachel yes okay we don't have to have that as emotion did you tell me that's consistent with past breakfast yes it is specifically when we knew that was going on and it's a family time all right so i'll entertain a motion that we accept the resignations as presented i will make a motion to
139accept the resolutions as presented i'll show you all right moving seconded further questions seeing none roll call vote please step back yes yes yes chism yes right motion carries thank you i might add with uh with regrets for uh some of those folks um sorry to see folks leave but i know that they have other opportunities number three discussing cons i'm sorry number four discuss and consider educator contracts all right so i have there um well i can technically put summer school contracts in there too so those are just uh most those are from the mike see you're still back there right mike all right cool all right so we have the five teachers there um and then morgan and samantha miller which aaron andrews jennifer kyle the new band's course manager interventionist and then
140i reissued uh dan heidly and brian jagadinsky uh they got their masters so that's an increase so i want to find out with pam chia too i've got to talk to her she needs to talk to me i want to make sure that we're handling that correctly um so those are the educator contracts is that the aaron andrews that works at the library or no that's it this is a whole she's going to get that quite a bit she's yeah she's uh she's the secretary for real nation and was teaching i believe that jefferson or franklin or a different president she was in nash cashieri school district yeah the president's elementary school yeah all right but she lives a few blocks away though that's right she's actually applied a couple times and i remember with
141this kindergarten time kerry joel because we've had there's been many many staff that have applied that didn't get a job that applied again that we've hired because it just wasn't the right fit or what you know the grade level so we're really excited that she continued to apply and i think she'll we have a community member with kids that are in the school district i don't think you can get anything stronger i have a question about the master's degree increase or change that will still be in advance as long as all other salaries are froze um right i don't no that won't be why not because that was something that was earned underneath the it's in the handbook i mean we could if you want but i would think that that's something that that that's
142not a normal advancement from looking at this game that's what my thought process would be okay i guess my thought process is if we're not giving anybody else a raise until we feel it's financially capable that we shouldn't give anybody else anybody uh you know that similar rates what i would say is that that the difference is that they've worked for many years to get this or and that this was the end game for that this isn't a normal escape or our escape plan or normal advancement because of being the district so that's that's why i would that's why i would recommend it because it's a different thing um but they would still get that back pay once it's like we had decided at the previous meeting with the cost of living increase not having
143anything there would still be once once we were in a position to provide that there would be retroactive i just think that that's this is something that they've worked hard they've invested we did not pay for any of their schooling to get there and this is something above and beyond what normally would have taken place for you so actually what's been really nice the past at least two years um there's been a program where teachers are going back for their dual certification meaning that they can teach like dana's teaching cat classes they've actually gotten reimbursed for their classes so it's been a really helpful program as well so i'm not unless you've received paperwork i'm not aware that ryan has finished his master's yet but i know dan has for sure um because he's completing
144his cat paperwork for us yup i did sam i've been working well i don't have it i know it's coming either way yeah i'm i'll so whatever the pleasure the board is i see i see that as a different thing that they're that they've achieved something that they went out to do so i see it as a different thing than the normal increases yeah so back in the day what we what what we've established in our escape plan is back in the day if you got your masters you jump to another lane okay so in order to um encourage people to get masters they have to get their masters approved and they have to then go through that program that it's a 2500 once you get it now you've increased 2500 over what your pay
145was before 20. so if i'm making if i'm making sixty thousand dollars and get my master's i'll be now making sixty two thousand five hundred the time it's on base right it'll stick with it which has been our practice for since we've moved since okay you know and i i'm i'm willing to go with whatever the board thinks but again it's part of their salary just like every other employee we have gets a salary and all their raises are being held until we decide that we're going to pay them and we'll pay them backpacks they're getting their back paid but they're getting the pay it's just that i don't know if they should start getting that now those two people no matter who they are or how valuable they are or what they did ahead
146of anybody else and you know it has nothing to do with with my wife being on the salary schedule either it's just i think if we tell people we're not going to give you that increase that increase that we want to we should tell everybody that so that's my thought okay give a different thought on lee then that's all guys that's something that we need to discuss well i got other thoughts on the whole that whole issue when we get to getting the whole compensation plan done right redone and all you've been working on it's been on hold and things but all right so why don't we just we'll take we'll just go with the new hires right now and then we'll have some more conversation i was expecting to have this conversation tonight about
147this so i mean because but what well what we will do is we'll talk and then if these are something walking forward with we will in july how's that sound okay sound good yeah all right so then what i'm going to recommend is that we have the summer school contractor samantha hart jacob martin mary rank julia lightery mike fedison and then also the educator contracts of morgan dyke samantha miller aaron andrews and jennifer tom kid looking for board action based on that recommendation i'd like to make a motion to approve the summer school contracts and all new higher contracts all right we'll get seconded to approve the summer school contracts and the new educators any further questions or discussions scene none roll call book please paula yes step backer yes chisholm yes hack yes yes
148all right motion carries next on the agenda is discuss and consider extra duty contacts for the mentors and the that's pure pets teammate so that's terry j godinski for mentor samantha miller and then we have a mentor that's they're a newer teacher and they have to learn about the craft of teaching where we have aaron andrews who with lindsey petrovsky she's going to help her just get acclimated to orientation friendship and kind of how we do business here yep then we have one more um ashley kreider for um oregon assuming that you've been preferred right morgan yeah so ashley kreider would be morgan anybody else that you can think of sam do you know evangel i don't think there's any other things and mike we got i've got i've got the oh we don't have
149you wouldn't know anything about the yeah so oh that's it cool thank you carrie jones all right so the recommendation is to approve extra duty contracts for terry linsley and ashley terry jagadinsky and lindsey petrovsky and ashley craig right um looking for uh board action i'll make a motion to approve the extra duty uh assignments motion and second to approve extruding assignments any questions seeing them roll call vote please yes that's yes that backer yes chism yes yes most carries number seven discuss and consider high school w-i-a-a membership for 2021-2022 school year low cost same thing as we've had before i've already signed and sent it in so it'll be official tonight okay just every year all right i'll make the motion to approve the wia membership i'll second that uh questions we have go
150back to number five oh vocal please um yes chisholm yes goldopsky yes pollock yes step backer yes all right motion carries thank you uh circling back to number five the personnel contracts oh thank you so we have two people who are unique um that's kerry nitz and bridget ambadan they're both they're not educators but we use the educator template for uh carrying instant mental health navigator contract which i provided to the steve that a earth that you have in your folder um and then bridget amadon we had pastures before she is an hourly wage but it spread out as a salary over time and she had talked to me if she could have you know three days of sick leave just in case something happens and i said absolutely i would recommend that she gets
151three personal days a year makes you more than deserves that she you know she's part-time but if something happens with illness or something they wouldn't be concurrent they wouldn't be able to be carried over so that would be the change to hers because i did have hers earlier but i think that would be a good thing she had asked for that she's done nothing but great things and it won't have a negative attack on the district even financially okay all right so we're looking for board action to approve the personnel contracts for carrie nitz as mental health navigator and bridget amadon as our school nurse i can make that motion okay all right i have a motion in a second to approve the personal contracts for carrying bridges any questions will call for please i'm
152sorry who's second good steve steve step backer yes yes last on the agenda is discuss and consider request for waiver for instructional minutes all right thank you so golden 19 there's a bunch of things in state statutes that we are bound to do and go and provide of all of these um and from dpi um guidance and from the state guidance and adam and kerry joe and many of us i think even the administrators within their different uh professional groups pretty much as much once you need it we the only one that i see us needing is the waiver of instructional minutes because we did have some as we went through where we had wednesdays that we that some of them we couldn't count directly as instructional minutes because we were doing a little of
153tutoring and getting caught up on stuff so to be safe through the audit and i know that there won't be an issue a problem most school districts are doing that the only one that that i would say recommend that i'll fill the paperwork is a waiver for instructional minutes for this past year and we did the same way verb the previous year yes because of with colvin and we were right on that costco and we had like four or five days where we didn't have school to get prepared so it's the same thing we did last year do you have to request a specific uh value for the waiver no so what i do is so right here this comes out and then so this is the form and these are all the different waivers
154that you can ask for from providing school lunch to providing transportation to providing uh that we that we recognize all the days that we're supposed to recognize all those things so of all these the only one that really pertains to us is this the minutes because there's not instructional days anymore it's instructional minutes and those that we would be less than what those instructional links would be now did we do a lot of learning was there some learning going on at night instead of the day sure but it'd be very hard to quantify so just to be safe rather to be safe than sorry and the dpi will not have a problem with granting this wafer for this year okay all right i mean just some of the updates that aaron provides for us weekly
155like a lot of school boards are doing this right now and now next year we won't because i mean if we end up having snow days and things like that we would add on areas we already have that worked up okay right looking for a motion then to uh approve the request of the waiver for instructional minutes i'll make a motion to request the waiver from dpi all right and i'll second that questions roll call vote please yes some hack yes godowski yes step backer yes all right ocean carries unanimously that is the end of the published agenda uh i will look for a motion to adjourn so second all right motion and second for adjournment that's not debatable so don't go vote please hack yes yes yes step backer yes chism yes all right
156and we stand adjourned so thank you uh those on the tv there for participating thank you members of the public it was wonderful to see people here and we are now staff members we're ending oriole tv stream and then next uh just so we know i'm not gonna retire require anybody except for us six
