All in favor, let it be known by saying I. >> I. >> Motion carried to approve. Personnel. >> Madam Chairman, I'd like to share a couple things um with you. I again just to kind of fill you in on some of the things that are going on around the system. uh and to celebrate some success as well. We have a

track meet going on right now. It's the largest track meet that we have had or that we've hosted. We have 13 um schools uh there with us tonight. And trying to get a parking place uh was difficult, >> but I love that and that is just a testimony to the great work that is going on there. Uh again, Mr. Mcomes and and all of those who are coaching our students uh are doing a wonderful job and so I'm just very very proud of them. Well, speaking of the Mcomes family, we had a wonderful mental health training session here hosted by Miss Mcomes, our mental health coordinator, and uh we focused on youth pastors uh that surround our school system. uh we had uh I think I've counted close to a dozen youth pastors who spent

the day with us and uh we appreciate the sponsors that we have for that and provided lunch um was provided by the community and businesses and uh it's very beneficial meeting and uh just really provide resources to them and I appreciate Miss Mcomes uh in doing that again so needed so needed and uh wonderful lady. Um, want to share a few things that are going on uh around if that's okay, >> please. >> Um, so we had the science olympiad um this past Saturday and I just want to kind of put those, you know, we may get them all here. Our kids are very, you know, the one thing I've I've learned, you just might have to make an appointment to recognize them and get on their calendar because they're just like, you know, but

I wanted to put their names up and so uh for the science Olympiad and they did come in first place, which is a tradition for, uh, Kitty Stone and again, >> you know, they're they're top shelf and so >> that's what we expect. >> Yes, it is. It is. And so we don't want to give up that first place uh trophy as well. And so um and then uh the science olympiad um as we went through this is kind of how all the scores kind of shook out. So very very proud of them again holding up their fingers. Uh the number one rank. I love that. >> So this is something that is going on and I'm learning how to play a ukulele. I've never had a ukulele, but uh our kids wanted to uh

learn how to play the ukulele. So, um they are doing that now. I love the ukulele stand. You'll see there. Um and Miss Skidton is also learning and so hopefully we will have them come and do a concert for you before too long. I'm thinking Christmas concerts, Christmas caroling. >> I'll bring mine. We'll all play. >> Okay. All right. Well, I'm I'm working on mine now, too. So, um, so we'll have dueling ukuleles going on. So, um, but, uh, you know, there's just so many things going on that when I walk by, I just I need to get a picture of that. I would be taking pictures every day all the time. So, um, so we had world of work, worlds of work today. Um, this event, um, is just phenomenal. We had students there.

We we'll have students there on Thursday. Again, it's eighth grade and our juniors. And so eighth grade was there today. I was trying to think what group I was with today. And anything that you could possibly think of as a career is uh presented to our students. And you know, you can see robotics there, you can see Honda there. Um we have all of the the health sciences there. I did put the new flyer bus um down at the bottom because uh Miss Curl has a direct connection to New Flyer, but we also had an opportunity um week before last to go and tour New Flyer as administrators. It's an unbelievable company. Um but then our kids through career tech came in just a few days after that and that's about the most impressive place.

Nothing against Honda. I'm always impress, you know. Nothing. But those are two different companies. They build those buses. The steel comes in, the welders weld the frame, and they are just shipping these buses >> throughout really the world. They've sent them to Hawaii and different places. And um >> it is amazing. It is amazing. And so um our kids are being exposed to so much and the careers that are out there, you just can't really get your mind around it. um of what is being provided. So, I know this is a video and I'm not so sure about how to hit on videos. So, charge him up. So, [laughter] um, so I was read across America, um, at Kitty Stone last week, and they did something so unique. They did, um, the masked, uh, readers.

And so, and it's like the mass singer. And so, uh, and what was so neat is they included people from all of their staff and faculty. And so we had our ladies uh who keep our building so clean, who serve our meals, who teach, and it is just it was just amazing. And uh again, I want to just share with you how excited the kids were. Um this is kind of their pet. SP excited about reading. I appreciate Mr. Cosy and his staff in doing that. And so, uh, there are just many wonderful things going on around. Um, we had, uh, the ACT boot camp at the Methodist church, uh, last week, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate the partnerships, the Methodist church opening up to us and allowing us, uh, to

come there and but everyone is so just welcoming and helpful and and we have wonderful partners throughout Jacksonville. We couldn't do it without them. Um, and we appreciate everything that they do for us. So, and I I'm leaving off this is these are just the highlights. There are things great things going on everywhere. Everywhere. We did have our first home baseball game. Um, and uh I should have gotten some pictures of that. It was wonderful and the improvements that you made over to the baseball field. The comments were just so positive and uh again, parking uh we were we were slammed over there and I love that. I love that. Um but uh thank you board for everything that you're doing. Thank you for the support. Uh we appreciate you so much for allowing us

to do these things and uh and bring them back to you. So, thank y'all for what you >> Thank you, sir. It is very evident that Jacksonville is preparing our children for successful life. And at this time, we need to confirm a next date of our board meeting and we do have April 20th at 5:30 p.m. That is on a Monday. board members comments. >> I would just like to congratulate our band as well on their MPA performance >> and um bands I should say [clears throat] and um of course our basketball and the track meet that's just so exciting and we have special Olympics coming up >> the 8th of April. And I was going to ask, is there anything we can do as a board to help support that? >> I I will

um find out for you. How about that? We are >> working uh with our partners on how we're going to uh bus folks. We've already had a meeting, a safety meeting on that and really a planning meeting and we know that we're going to be impacted by so many people that are coming over. looking at possibly First Baptist uh and using that parking lot safety complex um and then just having shuttles running >> that's good >> so that we can accommodate so but uh we also want to u our kids at Kitty Stone um we want them to to be a part of and so uh we're working together both schools are to make that just a very very special uh event >> to be able to host that event. No doubt. No doubt. And

thank you for mentioning basketball again. >> Uh time goes so quickly, but our girls uh winning the county tournament and then uh continuing to play in the plows. I mean, it's just they had a wonderful year and they did. >> Um and they are so involved in everything else that uh even the coaches uh I don't know, maybe I'll go there and recognize them. I'm not sure. So, >> all the spring sports. So thankful to the parents that helped with the improvements as well. >> Oh, and we will be recognizing a few of those as well and grandparents. >> Yes, we do. So, >> anybody else? >> Okay. >> Well, I'll I'll say this. I I went down to the AAS conference down at Auburn. uh and just being like a fly on the wall

hearing a lot of all these other systems that are talking amongst themselves and they're not happy >> happy. >> Yes, we are. >> I mean it's it's just so amazing to just kind of sit around and they've got this problem and that problem. I'm thinking >> Yeah. So, it just made me very very happy to to and then they'd come up and say, "Oh, you got Dr. Barber." Oh, that's >> We do hear that a lot. >> We love him. He's not going anywhere. >> Running out of $5 bills. I I baited every one of those [laughter] people. Paid them all to find you and say those things. I promise you. You know, >> just so you know, the luckiest man over here won another door prize. >> I did. >> Oh my goodness. >>

And I just keep on winning. That's all I [laughter] mean they they bring me the prizes now and the people that are live stream they have no idea what we're talking about but >> and and look he still won't give me the lottery number [laughter] [clears throat] >> I I you know I I just keep winning I'm always amazed myself so [laughter] >> so awesome >> I have not seen that $500 come in though that the big check that I wanted to I will circle back around and make sure we get that money because that that money is going to the choir you the two choirs. So, >> yes. Yes. >> I I donate it back. I promise. So, >> Oh, thank you, sir. Thank each of you for your comments. We are just so

fortunate to be with a school system focus is on academics, sports, and children as a whole because that is what it's all about >> and everything else will work out for the good. >> That's right. >> At this time, can I get a motion to move? >> Second. It has been properly seconded that we adjourn. All in favor, let it be known by I. [clears throat] >> I I. >> Motion carried.
