00126 County Board of Education orderly. Would you give us an indication? Our >> heavenly father, Lord, we thank you for this day. [clears throat] We thank you for allowing us to be here this evening. We ask Lord that you be with us as we conduct the business of our school board. Help us to make wise decision everything that we do. We ask that you forgive us for we failed you. We ask that you just be with us throughout this meeting. as in Jesus name. Amen. >> Salute. Pledge. I pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. To establish a forum. See that all members are present. Item E is to approve the agenda.

002Do I hear a motion to approve the agenda? >> Make a motion. >> Do I hear a second? >> I'll second it. >> Everybody had a chance to look at it. You might see any corrections, additions, or subtractions we need to do to it. Hearing none. All in favor, raise your right hand. All for [snorts] item E is unfinished business. Mr. Scott, do we have any unfinished business? >> No, sir. >> Item G is new business. I will turn it over to Mr. Scott for recommendations. >> Before we do this, we run into a problem. I contact the some of the elementary principles and the way we had this spring break. I should have run off. I apologize. We originally had that scheduled for the last week March and then the first week in April.

003But the problem with that our second third grade has to be due has to be through with a reading test due to the literacy act only that. So basically if we leave it like it is they come back that week and they have to start testing. Now what the teachers would rather have have a week to review and then start testing. So if we do that we would move the spring break week back to the last in March. So before we approve that next month, they should be thinking about that go and talk to some folks. I mean that came about late today. We brought to my attention some principles didn't think it was a good idea to not have that wait till review and then test instead of just coming right back. I get

004it probably better routine. So just something to think about and we do that. Of course that that will fall in the week good Friday. So we have good Friday off anyway. We probably just drop that in service day down to the 20th and that way that gives our teachers two days gra. They still send that out to the teachers and all the different ones beforehand. didn't last year then this year you know it's very the way they got this test now it opens on the 16th and goes all the way through April 23rd but they put that restriction because which makes it hard on y >> it's open March 16th through Yes. Yes. But I will get those out. I just want to mention that. >> Well, that's legitimate [clears throat] reason. >> Most everybody

005just because they want [laughter] >> I mean I would like to go to the beach in April instead of you know, [clears throat] but I think you know I agree that >> it would be better for our kids to have a week to get back in routine and not just walk back in and start you know testing. People don't realize high school is different. [clears throat] >> Well, and like I like I had asked about moving spring further back in April, but that testing window would close that week. You don't want you don't want to get in a situation where somebody has to get tested and school's out, >> right? >> That makes sense, too. >> One and two right now. Well, we're still going to consider that we can vote on it next month.
