Heat. >> [music] [music] >> Yeah. Heat. Heat. Hey. [music] Hey. Hey. Okay, here we go. Uh, good afternoon. Um, good evening actually. Um let's start the we are now back in public session. We started the uh executive session at 4:30. The meeting went a little bit executive session went a little bit longer than anticipated. Um so uh welcome back. Earlier this afternoon, the board adopted the agenda with the modification that the discussion of personnel per CRS 24-6-424F particular matter employment status of Angelica Gibler Beers Mauliff Elementary School teacher. That item was removed from agenda item C1 executive session as this will be

addressed during the open meeting and also because of inclement weather and the need to hold this meeting online. The following items were removed from the agenda and postponed to the next scheduled meeting of the board. Spotlight item, we as them campaign. Action item H3, resolution of appreciation for Julie Art. Action item H4, resolution of appreciation for Dr. Bankis. And H5, resolution of appreciation for Amanda Huber. All of those all of those items were moved from today's agenda to u a future board meeting. Uh I just wanted to share that with the community and just also wanted to before we start the meeting take a moment to thank the Mitchell High School band um modern band students and director. uh they were supposed to be present in person at the board meeting today. Um and of

course uh because of the weather conditions they were not able to be here. Uh we will get them back here uh at a future meeting but they did take considerable amount of time to prepare for tonight's in-person board meeting. So thank you for the preparation and we hope to see you uh at a future inperson board meeting. Okay, with that we'll move to the next item of the agenda. It is the pledge of allegiance. Okay, it is the pledge of allegiance. So, um uh as I stand up and lead the board in the pledge of allegiance, uh each of you uh at your individual uh location can stand up and join me in the pledge of allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which

it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice and justice for all. >> Thank you guys. that um was a little bit unusual having to do it in the virtual environment but appreciate all of us still uh um joining in the pledge of allegiance. As I mentioned at the top of the meeting, the spotlight we as them campaign is being moved to a future um future uh board meeting. Uh we move on to the superintendent's report. Uh Superintendent Gaul, I'm going to come over to you for your report at this time. Yeah. Um I'm going to forego the update that I had sent the board um over email. We'll do that next week as part of the farewell and thank you to the current seven and the welcoming of the new seven of

some of which of you have an overlap. Um Dr. Malakim, is this time for me to read my statement? >> Yes, great. >> Please do. Uh, in accordance with the Colorado Teacher Employment Compensation and Dismissal Act, I'm recommending to the board of education that Angelica Gibler Beers, a teacher at McAuliffe Elementary School, be dismissed from her employment with the district on the statutory grounds of insubordination, neglect of duty, and/or other good and just cause. No action is required by the board of education at this time. Thank you, Superintendent Gaul. And on behalf of the board of education, I acknowledged that the board has received Superintendent Gaul's recommendation for the dismissal of Dr. Angelica Gibler Vers. Additionally, the board received advice on this matter in executive session from the district's legal council. The scope of the

executive session was only limited to legal advice at Dr. Gibler viewers request any other discussion, conversation or consideration on this topic will take place in the open session. As a general policy, neither the district nor the board comment comments on individual personnel matters. The district does not disclose or discuss information rel related to employee investigation, corrective actions, employment status, or the circumstances of any specific personnel decision. The district intends to follow the process outlined by the Colorado Teacher Employment Compensation and Dismissal Act, TEDA. As Superintendent Gaul stated, no action or vote is required by the board of education at this time. The second topic that I do want to provide a brief feedback to the community on uh I want to let the community know that uh the board performed the superintendent's midyear evaluation as

stipulated in its employment contract with the board of education. The board conducted that informal midyear evaluation of superintendent Gaul in today's executive session. Um vice president Hafley and I will um deliver that feedback from the board to superintendent Gaul in the new in the near future. That's all uh I have. Um Superintendent Gaul, anything else that you want to add? >> Uh just to add that uh we've made the decision to do a two-hour delay tomorrow. So, anybody paying attention to the board meeting, um, that will be going out over the loop here momentarily. Uh, roads are behind schedule from a city perspective and, uh, we need to get that sun up in the morning to make sure it's, uh, safe for folks to get to school and work. >> Okay. Thank you for monitoring

that situation. >> Um, public comments, we do have, uh, several public comments at this point in time. Um, due to adverse weather conditions and the need to conduct this meeting in the virtual environment, the community was given instructions on the D11 website this morning regarding the opportunity to submit public comments electronically to be read out loud during this meeting. This is a practice that we followed during the pandemic when several of our meetings got pushed to a virtual environment and we are going to follow the same protocol that we established at that time. Um, Miss Olsson, I've got several public comments in front of me. Let me get that sheet [clears throat] and I will introduce the person uh whose public comment is going to be read and I think uh Miss Olsen and Chief

Utmer, Chief Nicole Artmer are going to take turns reading out uh public comments. Uh the first comment that I have and I just want to share this uh publicly was a public comment that was received from a student at Man Middle School. The student's name is and uh if I got this name uh wrong uh uh I apologize for that. Umeair Sed is the name of the student. But the student u signed up for public comments but did not uh did not uh uh submit uh any of his uh written public comments to be read out this uh evening. So Mr. say uh from man middle school. Uh Miss Olsen reached out to you asking you to submit your uh written public comments. Uh apparently we haven't heard from you. Uh so if you want

to send that email to the board at a future or uh come to a future board meeting to share your uh public comments in person. Um we don't have any comments from Mr. Say other than that he's signed up. The second comment comes from uh Mr. Joseph Shelton. And uh Miss Olsson, are you going to be reading this comment out? >> Okay. >> Yes. >> Great. Go ahead. From Mr. Joseph Shelton. >> I am here tonight to oppose the proposed termination of Dr. Angelica Gibler Beers. First, it is deeply concerning that the notice for the executive session discussion did not appear on board docs until midday yesterday. That delay creates the appearance that the district sought to minimize public awareness, which undermines confidence in transparent governance. It is also troubling that this matter was placed

into executive session at all. To my knowledge, no other recent termination has been handled this way, and the deviation raises serious questions. When a decision affects the career and reputation of a respected educator, transparency should be the standard, not the exception. The community deserves openness, clarity, and consistency. On November 22nd, I received an email from Jason stating that the district is focused on providing a safe, supportive learning environment for every student. So, I ask, how does firing Dr. Gibler Versus support a safe environment for McAlliff's fifth graders? She has not harmed students, violated law, created a hostile environment, or put anyone at risk. Dr. Dr. Gibler Beers is an exceptional educator, one with deep expertise and a proven commitment to students. Her true offense was not misconduct. It was expressing viewpoints district leadership dislikes. In

October, she was placed on administrative leave solely for discussing district policies on her personal social media account. She was escorted out of her building and barred from contacting anyone despite no evidence of a legal or policy violation. This occurred during the same period she was publicly supporting the csea cea single day strike. Since that day, several teachers have faced discipline under vague claims of policy violations. The pattern is clear. Superintendent Gaul, your actions send a message to every educator, comply with the district's narrative, or risk being silenced or removed. But the law is clear. The Woodland Park Education Association ruling reaffirmed that districts cannot discipline employees for lawful speech on their own time. Your staff are not extensions of district PR. They are individuals with constitutional rights. To the board, the recommendation may come from

the superintendent, but the accountability rests with you. The public will remain you will remember your vote. Your you frequently speak about valuing educators voices. Tonight is the moment to show it. Dr. Dr. Gibler Beers did not violate policy or law. What she violated was the comfort of those who prefer silence over accountability. Terminating her as unjust, harmful to students and staff morale, and damaging to the integrity of this district. I urge you to reject this recommendation or at minimum question it publicly. Stand for transparency. Stand for lawful governance. Stand for the educators who dedicate their lives to our students. Stand for what is right. Thank you, Miss Olson. That was right on three minutes. Um, the next comment, uh, I'm assuming Chief Art is going to read it at this time. Okay. The name of

the person is Shiloh, Mr. Shiloh Sh. And if I pronounce that name wrong, uh, I apologize. Chief Utmer. >> Good evening. My name is Shiloh and I have been a dedicated educator in this community for 20 plus years. I am commenting tonight because I love teaching and I love the students and families I've served for more than two decades. But I am deeply concerned about the direction our district is heading. Over the years, our classrooms have become increasingly affected by outside politics, negativity, and a lack of respect for the professionals who work every day to support students. Teachers should be able to focus on educating children, not navigating political pressures or hostile environments. In my career, I have always strived to do what is best for students. Yet, I have witnessed decisions and actions that

feel unfair and disconnected from the values this district claims to uphold. Educators deserve fair treatment, transparency, and due process. When those principles are not honored, it hurts not only staff, but the students we serve. I'm speaking today not just for myself, but for many educators who feel silenced, censored, or discouraged. We want to work in a district that respects our experience, values our contributions, and supports us so we can continue doing the job we love. I urge the board and district leadership to reflect on how policies, decisions, and school culture affect teacher morale and retention. When teachers feel supported, students benefit. When teachers are treated unfairly or dismissed without clarity or respect, the entire community loses. Every educator deserves dignity, professionalism, and a school environment free from unnecessary political interference, fear, and negativity. Thank you

for your time. >> Thank you. Uh the next public comment is from Miss Jessica Kloppenberg and it goes back to you, Miss Olson. Okay. I would like to begin by thanking Director Aught for being an incredible leader and advocate within our district. You have always thought about what is best for all within our district. Although I might not always agree with your decisions, I can always count on you to be transparent and honest about your decisions. I hope that your honesty will be passed along to our new board members. You will be greatly missed by all in D11. Once director leaves, our BOE will be lacking this honesty and transparency. You say that you put students first, yet you are putting pulling passionate, knowledgeable, and loving teachers out of the classroom because you do not

agree with their views of you in this district. You say that these teachers broke rules from the employee handbook and this gives you the right to interrupt their students learning. How is this putting students first? You gave teachers a hard time about the strike interrupting instruction and this was one day. One specific class has had their instruction interrupted for almost two months. If these teachers should be punished for being honest and open about things that are happening within the district, then you should also be held accountable for your actions as well. Refusing to give teachers a voice, inconsistency within so many things, micromanaging everyone within the district. I know that the building admin are being told to do this, not supporting teachers when it comes to not having time and feeling overworked and stressed. And

last but not least, the constant threats for standing up for our schools and students. Tonight, Superintendent Gaul is recommending termination of one of the most incredible teachers I have ever met. I want you to ignore your personal thoughts and think about her students. I can tell you that her students are beyond upset and emotional about what is happening to their teacher. Dr. G is only the beginning. There there are other teachers in the district that are going through similar situations and other classes that are being interrupted because of your actions. >> Thank you. The next public comment is from Lesie Bandonil. And um Miss Artner, Chief Utmer, it's back to you. Before I read this comment, I do want to make a note that we were asked to share that Leslie has spoken with administration

today and a meeting set up to talk through concerns and protocols with the school. My name is Leslie Bandal, parent of a student at Jenkins Middle School. I am submitting this statement to bring attention to a severe safety failure that occurred on December 2nd, as well as ongoing concerns regarding the school's handling of my son's needs and IEP accommodations. Yesterday, I called the front office to inform staff that I would be a few minutes late for pickup and asked that the message be given to my son or that he be kept in the office until I arrived. This message was never relayed. No staff member ensured he remained safely inside the building. As a result, my autistic son, who has never walked home before, was allowed to leave the school in freezing temperatures and walk

alone down one of the busiest and most dangerous streets in Colorado Springs. I was forced into a panic no parent should ever experience. I frantically searched the school, calling out his name through tears, both inside the building and outside in the cold. Staff and security assisted me in the search and I watched in horror on the security cameras as my child disappeared into a crowd of students who were equipped to walk home. Unlike him, this was not a minor mistake. It was a serious breach of safety, a failure of supervision, and a fail failure to follow his IEP, which legally requires structure, communication, and appropriate accommodations for his disability under IDA and the ADA. I live with significant medical challenges myself, including a brain aneurysm, and simply getting my son from school every day is

a physically taxing and risky for me. I should have been able to safely pick him up from the office without placing him or myself in danger. Instead, this incident has made me even more hesitant to trust the faculty with his care when I am already doing everything I can to support his education. This is not the first issue we've experienced at Jenkins with regard to communication, accommodations, or basic safety procedures. But this is the incident that made clear these failures now pose an immediate risk for my son's life and well-being. I am requesting that the district conduct a full investigation into why communication failed and why my son was allowed to leave unsupervised. Secondly, ensure staff responsible for end of day release communication and IEP compliance receive immediate training. Third, review Jenkins Middle School's implementation

of IEP and ADA obligations for students with disabilities. Four, provide a written corrective action plan and a revised, reliable safety plan for my son's dismissal process. Five, ensure that this never happens again to my child or any student. My son deserves to be safe at school. No parent should have to experience the terror of not knowing where their child is because the systems meant to protect them were not followed. I [clears throat] ask the board to take this matter seriously and ensure immediate corrective action. Thank you. >> You got got that right on time. Uh Chief Art, um the next message uh is from Joe Shot. Uh Mr. Joe Shart and um uh I'll come back to you, Miss Olsson, to read out this public comment. Good evening. My name is Joe Shot. Director Au.

Whereas for eight years, you have served and promoted our public school system with courage, honesty, and character. Both elevating our sense of what can be and enduring unchecked ill treatment even from the staff from the DAS itself while championing an aspirational vision for our students. And whereas you have demonstrated the understanding that students are better served by a focus on learning than on extracting test scores from them and that this means meeting students where they are and understanding who they are, which means honoring our students diversity, fighting for inclusion of their own world views and life experiences and developing their educational experience in D11 and thus striving to assure equity in the programming D11 offers all our children in every school as well as expectations of lofty goals and broad horizons no matter their starting

points or circumstances. And whereas you advocated for building on and leveraging existing offerings and the boundless talent available in an enthusiastic staff already dedicated to guiding each student to becoming the great and engaged citizens and leaders they can be rather than farming out distinctive and exclusive opportunities. And whereas you pushed back on the re-industrialization of instruction in D11 and the imposition of packaged dictates from outside contractors on the education of our students instead trusting the experienced professional educators in our classrooms to tailor their teaching to the students they know and look after every day. Whereas all that thanks you have given deeply of yourself. Director Odd, you have been a breath of fresh breathable air. Thank you, Miss Olsson. The next public comment is from Miss Brittany Provost. Back to you, Chief Artner. >> My

name is Brittany Provost. I am a former school counselor and now work in private practice as a mental health therapist. I briefly worked in D11 and the handling of this situation with Dr. Gibler Ve is just one more thing that confirms that I made the right decision to leave D11 quickly. I had the honor of working with Dr. Gibler Beers for two years at an elementary school in California. She demonstrated excellent skill as a teacher, building compassionate and professional relationships with students, and I witnessed firsthand the growth that her students gained after working with her. I have continued to remain in contact with her over the years and have even gone to her for advice on how to help my own child when my oldest was learning to read. Which leads me to discuss this

ridiculous situation regarding her employment. The way the district has handled this entire situation is incredibly more harmful to students than any of her actions. During the teacher strike, the district decided to put people in classrooms that did not meet the requirements set by CDE to substitute teach. Dr. Gibler viewers made the community and parents aware of this through social media as that should be their right to know given this matter impacts their children. In response to these social media posts, your actions are what are most infuriating. Instead of removing Dr. Gibler from her classroom before or after school when students were not present, district administrators chose to do it in front of her students causing them distress. After that, subs revolved in and out, causing an inconsistent and unpredictable learning environment for these students. I

don't think you need to be a mental health therapist or licensed school counselor to know that children learn best in a consistent and predictable environment. I believe the district's handling of this situation most likely negatively impacted these students learning. If I weren't limited in time, I would gladly go into psycho education to explain this further. So, please reach out to me if you'd like a more in-depth explanation of how this is harmful. After several weeks of substitutes, Dr. Gibler Ver's class was then split into two and added to the two other remaining fifth grade classrooms. This made class sizes go from 24 to 36. 36 students in an elementary class is absurd. As a mom of two children myself, I'd be livid if any of the situations just discussed happened in my own children's classrooms.

That significant increase in class size will most likely take away from other children's learning, but the district doesn't care. These actions show me that the district only cares about silencing educators that don't agree with them. Removing Dr. Gibler says one thing that power and control is more important to you than the education of the entire fifth grade fifth grade at McAuliffe Elementary. If this district can't seem to see the harm that is done, then God help this district and their students. Respectfully, Britney Provost, MA, LPC, NCC. >> Thank you. The next public comment is from Miss Amanda Brown. Uh, Miss Olsson, to you. Thank you for your time and consideration this evening. My name is Amanda Brown. I am a District 11 resident, voter, and parent. We have two Palmer High School graduates, a freshman

at Palmer this year and a fifth grader at McAuliffe Elementary School. I continuously stand in awe and respect of the teachers and educators who have helped guide my children into the amazing young people they are today and continue to grow into. But I come to you tonight on behalf of my youngest, the fifth grader at Mclliff Elementary. My daughter was in literacy instruction on October 6th, mid lesson, learning to read, when her teacher, Dr. Gibler, was pulled out of her classroom by our principal. Brought down to the office where a district representative waited to put her on administrative leave. Our District 11 administration knowingly exposed my child to a situation in which a person of trust, her teacher deserving of respect, was taken from the classroom by another adult she has also been told is

trustworthy with no explanation, no plan of return. All the students comprehended was that our principal took their teacher away and that she was scared and now she still isn't back. This was terrifying in the moment. This remains terrifying tonight. The fear and apprehension my child has experienced since this event is immeasurable. She is in a state of anxiety every day. She greets each Monday with a maybe this will be the week that Dr. Gibler comes back to us. It has been 58 days. 58 days where the district has failed on their promise of the highquality top tier instruction celebrated on their website. 58 days where they have failed to prioritize my child's academic success and well-being. Make no mistake, the team of principles and teachers at McAlliff Elementary are above reproach. They have stepped up

to make all students feel safe and valued in a situation they aren't allowed to talk about and is completely out of their hands. Our district talks of student agency and well-being. A district where students thrive through active engagement and the support of connected families. But what my student wants, what her classmates and family want, what would provide her with the greatest agency, support, and well-being of all is her teacher back. Back in the classroom where she belongs. Thank you. Thank you, Miss Olen. That's all the public comments I have. Um, is that right, Miss Olsson? if I'm keeping track of public comments. Did I get everything or did I miss out on anything? >> Yes, that's everything. >> Okay. Thank you. Um, appreciate all of you uh providing public comments. Your comments was read out

to the board. The board does not respond to public comments during this time. Uh, but be rest assured that your public comments will be taken into consideration by the board. U again, thank you for your engagement. Moving on to the next item on the agenda. It's special reports. Board member reports. Board members, do you have any reports that you want to share from your end at this time? Directorat, you are up first. >> Thank you. I push all the buttons to make that happen. Um, so before I'm off the during the week. I just want to share that there's still things going on um in our community and in our schools, the concerts, the winter concerts for uh many of the bands and orchestras and specifically the next couple of nights at 6 pm Sin

Middle School is doing Into the Woods Junior and Jenkins is doing Elf the Musical um at maybe I just said this at 6:30 p.m. uh Thursday and Friday. So, just a heads up for our community on those. And as I'm touring schools before the end of the semester, I just have to share um the incredible work that really is going on in so many of our schools. Um the art that we're seeing here at the end of the semester and so many other things. People can check out the work of Jackson, Howard, and other schools in the D11 administration building, too, if you're in that neck of the woods. Um, I do want to acknowledge uh while the district does not comment on individual personnel matters, I appreciate that people are sharing their concerns uh

about our staff and just want to acknowledge that and that the district is again following TCA. So, thank you so much. Thank you, Director Art, for uh sharing with the community that there are so many um concerts and uh events that are happening throughout uh our schools uh in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully, our community will engage. I've been at a couple of those events. It's uh incredibly fulfilling to see some of our kids perform. um uh they put on impressive um uh performance in front of um public audience. So uh hopefully our community takes time to engage at the school level. Uh any other public comments at this time from bo I mean any other board reports at this time from board members? If so, please speak up at this time. I don't

see anybody else lifting hands up there. So uh thank you um for sharing your report. Uh moving on to the next item on the agenda. It's consent items. Uh Director Bankers, can you please make the motion to adopt the consent items? And Director Bankers, you have to unmute. >> Oh, sorry. Sorry. Wait, I got to get back. >> Okay. Can you hear me? >> Yes. >> Okay, let me go back to um now I've lost the agenda. Oh, there it is. Okay. I move that the board of education adopts all consent items as designated in the agenda. The consent items are personnel recommendations December 3, 2025, approval of November 5, 2025 regular board meeting minutes. Approval of November 19, 2025 special meeting minutes. >> Second. >> Okay. Moved and seconded. Roll call, please. Souls. >>

Director Bankis. >> I. >> Director Kerry. I >> director Hayley. >> Hi >> Director Huber. >> Hi >> Director Jorgensson. >> I >> director Malpacham. >> I >> director. >> Hi. >> The consent items have been adopted as presented. Uh we do have a couple of action items. Uh Director Kerry, can you please make the motion for action item H1? >> Yes. I move that the board of education approves the 2026 mill levy rates for certification to the El Paso County Treasurer. >> Second. Second. >> Okay. Moved and seconded. Um, superintendent call. This item was presented to the board at a previous board meeting. Uh, additional information to add to the board at this time. >> Yeah, Dr. Comfort's here with a brief update. >> Thank you to you, Dr. Comfort. >> Yeah. Good evening

board. Well, Miss Olsson is pulling up the slideshow. This is a followup to the mill levy certification presentation we brought back in November. Melissa, you can go to the second slide, please. Um, just as a reminder, what we brought you was a projection. We received the actual certified results over Thanksgiving break and then we have a very short window to bring those to the board. Um, so we're grateful that that is tonight. Uh, next slide, please, Melissa. Everything that we brought you in uh November remains true. Um the the largest part of this is if the board remembers we have a inflationary opportunity within the 2017 MLO uh of 2.3% that would provide $1.2 million of additional funding in the MLO. We bring that through the MLO oversight committee process and then we bring that

recommendation ultimately to the board to the budget build. Um and so if approved tonight, we would go through that process in second semester. Uh and then final slide, Melissa. Just the um overall information about kind of the tax base for the district. Um and as a reminder in the other uh attachment to the presentation tonight, you'll see that the the mill levies, the mills that the district is uh is charging continue to decrease because we continue to not carry bond debt. Um, and obviously when the assessed value of the district grows so significantly and our our dollar stayed pretty consistent, our impact on on the tax base um, lessons. So, uh, I turn it back over to the board for any questions. >> Thank you for that update, Dr. Comfort. Um, any questions from the

board on this topic? Okay, I don't see any questions at this time. Um, Miss Olsson, roll call, please. >> Hold on. I got to get back. >> Director Benis, >> hi. >> Director Kerry. >> Hi, >> Director Hayley. >> Hi, >> Director Huber. >> Hi, >> Director Jorgensson. I >> director Malpacham >> I >> director >> I >> so the resolution 2026-20 2020 2026-22 Miller rate certification has been approved by the board. Moving on to the next item on the agenda. This is the settlement agreement Colorado High School Activities Association. Director Huber, can you please can you please make the motion for action item H2? >> I move that the board of education approves the proposed settlement agreement with Chassa in the district 49 at all vers Solit Sullivan lawsuit as that settlement agreement was

presented by litigation council at the board's November 19th, 2025 executive session. >> Second. Okay, moved and seconded. Um, and we we do have legal counsel Chris Murray joining us to provide a brief update to the community and to the board also on the subject matter. Chris, uh, are you able to hear me? >> I am. Are you able to hear me, Chairman? >> Yes, please. >> Okay. Thank you for having me. Um and also thank you for making this meeting remote so I didn't have to come over to Palmer Divide from Denver. Um [clears throat] as as I have advised um your uh your sister boards um and sister districts uh in similar positions um because this settlement agreement is not official until it has been signed by all plaintiffs. Uh and to be clear

D11 will be the last plaintiff to officially approve it tonight. uh but it's not official until CHASSA signs it. Uh CHASSA intends to do that tomorrow. Uh it is my advice to the board like it has been to the other boards to consider the settlement agreement. Uh that the terms of the agreement not be discussed in public um until the settlement agreement uh can be released upon its full execution which I anticipate uh will be as soon as tomorrow and no later than Friday. Thank you for that update. Um um so for the community that is watching in the interest of transparency um this will be available um as a public information after all parties to the settlement agreement have signed and then the terms of the agreement will be available for the public. Is

that a good summary there, Chris? >> It is. You did it a lot faster than I did. >> Okay, thank you. Um, with that, I'm going to call for roll call, please. Miss Olsson. >> Director Bankis. >> Hi. >> Director Kerry. >> Hi, >> Director Hayley. Hi >> Director Huber. >> Hi >> Director Jorgensson. >> Hi >> Director Malpachham. >> I >> director >> I. >> So this resolution uh this settlement agreement was approved by the board at this time. Thank you Chris for joining us >> and thank you very much to all of you. Have a good evening. >> Okay. You too. As was stated at the top of the meeting, action items H3, H4, and H5, which are all resolutions to uh appreciate outgoing board members. That is going to take place next

week. Um because of inclement weather, we wanted board members and the community to be present in person. Um so it will happen. Those agenda items have been pushed and postponed till next week. Okay, we are to future agenda items. Bo, I'm going to look at you and see if there are future agenda items request. Okay, I don't see anybody raising their hands. Um, obviously there is going to be a new board seated. uh next week. So, uh we will have more conversation about future agenda items with the new board. Uh just giving the community an update on that election situation. Uh it is my understanding that a recount process has been triggered because of the uh closeness of the elections and the uh difference of votes between uh three of the uh candidates. Uh and

we haven't heard anything from the clerk and recorders office as of this evening. Would that be correct? Uh Miss Olson, we haven't heard anything on this subject matter. I have not been given information that the recount is complete. That is correct. >> Okay. Miss Olsson is the district's designated election official. So, uh she is going to be the first person that will be informed about it. Um we are waiting to hear back from the clerk and recorder's office when that process is complete. We do anticipate that process being completed by the end of this week at which point in time we will receive official certifications. And uh right now the um hope is uh or the expectation is that uh the not only will the outgoing board members be uh recognized at the December 10th

board meeting, but the new incoming board members will be sworn in at that board meeting and will be seated at that board meeting. Um so that will happen at a special board meeting uh on Wednesday, December 10th. Uh I don't have any of the other details about the agenda items for that evening as and when I find out about it I if it is necessary I'll communicate it with the board or it'll be made public by this Friday. We will be on winter break from December 22nd to January 2nd. I'm not sure if we are going to have an additional board meeting or a work session on December 17th. Uh if there is going to be one that will be communicated in a timely manner to the new board that is seated next week. We

are at the end of our board meeting at this point in time. Um, so seeing no further business, if there are no objections at this time from board members, this meeting will officially adjourn at 6:35 p.m. Thank you.
