What is it? I'd like to call the uh Canyon City Schools School Board meeting to order. It's Monday, May 11th, 2026 at 5:33 p.m. Let's begin with the >> pledgece to the flag of the United States of America and to the standy for all. I appreciate the leadership from this these kids over here on that. That was wonderful. Thank you. Oh, yeah. Okay, we're going to go out of order a little bit, but we're going to skip for some kudos so that these kids can get to their senior honors tonight. But we're going to start by recognizing Encore. So, Encore, I'm going to invite you to come up here and stand in front of this table and look out at the audience. Ladies and gentlemen, this is your state championship show choir encore. >> They're

recognize an extraordinary achievement by our newest vocal ensemble, Striata. In its very first year, Striiana captured the Colorado State Jazz Choir Championship. >> Yeah. WOOHOO. An incredible accomplishment for any group, let alone one that began as a student capstone project. I'll get choked up. The success started with the vision of Daniel Day whose dream of creating a jazz choir became a reality in spectacular fashion. Daniel's leadership, initiative, and passion transformed an idea into a championship program and a meaningful opportunity for fellow students. In addition, Daniel received an outstanding soloist award at the festival. We also want to recognize two individuals whose guidance and generosity played a vital role in this achievement. So, thank you to Ryan Walter for directing the ensemble and to Damian Cadell for accompanying and mentoring the group throughout the season. Your
dedication and support helped make this remarkable first year possible. Most importantly, congratulations to the students of Stria. Your hard work, talent, and commitment have brought tremendous pride to our school and to our community. Congratulations, Triata, on an unforgettable inaugural season and a Colorado State Championship. >> We have some certificates here for you, too. So, We've got one for Mr. Cadell here over here for Mr. Walter. And I'm going to invite the board back up for another photo opportunity. I don't think you need to >> one more time. >> Careful back to senior on your side. Okay. Thank you, Mr. >> Thank you, Daniel. That's a pretty tight bar to follow. >> All right, Mr. Alexander. Roll call, please. >> Mr. Alre, >> can we be heard? Mhm. >> So, we don't need a microphone. As
long as we speak with teacher voices, then I'm here. >> Mr. Alexander present. Miss Brady >> Mr. Miley is excused. Miss Reer >> here. >> All right. Just can't get past that really fun fun stuff. Do you guys want me to pass this back and forth? Are you going to use teacher voices? >> Do you want the second one? >> Sure. I think it's easier for me. >> Thank you. And then when they come over >> All right, Mr. Hartman, are there any changes to the agenda this evening? >> Yes, thank you for asking. There are actually this evening there are a few under 2B3A under appointments. There is an addition under 2B3B termination and leaves. Also in addition under new Roman numeral 5A to action items addition approvals out of state travel request for
the high school CCHF civilian marksmanship air rifle national championships and then under 5a3 action item the addition of the approval of the 2026 CCHS graduates whom we'll be honoring on Wednesday. >> Thank you Mr. Herman. Fix that. You're welcome. Thank you. >> All right. May I have a motion to approve the agenda as amended? >> I'll move to Sorry. I'll move to approve the agenda as amended. >> Second. >> I have a motion and a second. Further discussion hearing? None. Roll call, please. >> Mr. Albbright. >> I. >> M. Votes I. Miss Brady >> I. >> And Miss Reese. >> I. Next we have a consent agenda. Is there a director that would like to pull something off for further consideration? Hearing none, may I have a motion to approve the consent agenda? >> I
move we approve the consent agenda as presented. >> I second that motion. >> I have a motion and a second. Further discussion hearing none. Roll call, please. >> Mr. Albreight, >> I. >> Mr. Alexander votes I. Miss Bradley >> I. >> And Miss Reese >> I. Board members report. Who would like to begin? >> I can start. Okay. I made a list tonight. So, um, Robin and I both were very involved with our our bargaining team this year working together to come up with the best opportunity support our teachers and our our staff as we take care of our kids and our schools. And that's a long process and it was a timeconsuming process. It's difficult at times, but it's um it's a process that kind of defines how we are and who we are
in Ken City as we work together on an interestbased bargaining um taking care of our relationships and our people, people that come together to make it happen because this is our future we're talking about in our community. Um let's see. I also I didn't get to go view the stage show choir. I got lots of texts during the day, but I was busy taking care of my mom's that day. And um but I did at the end of it, however, I realized the last time um that when I was directing and I won the state championship, we had a police escort meet outside of town and some parents had arranged that. And so when I knew they won, I thought, I don't know if a parent even knows they can do that. So, I called
the police station and I talked to um Deputy Reese and Corporal Reynolds and apparently someone another parent had contacted the sheriff about Officer Romero and Officer Omen to meet the kids coming back into town um the night they won their state championship. And I want to give them a shout out for giving them a police escort back to the high school late at night where a whole bunch of parents and I stood in our umbrellas shooting confetti guns and I'm sorry to the hottie high school. I understand that was an issue the next morning. But I didn't bring the confetti guns. I just showed up with the parents and held my umbrella. But um that was really a nice um thing to see our community there to support and all the parents so happy and
proud of their kids. Um we attended the city council meeting when they did a resolution to honor May as teacher educator educ sorry educator month, educator appreciation month. Let me get that straight. Um, we had our compass committee meeting where we got to accept the IPR findings for a year and that's always a joy to go through all of that after all eight of them have been complete. Um, and we had educator appreciation assemblies at all the schools and we got to come and talk to our teachers and I always really like to come and make eye contact and see all the teachers and staff members and let them know how much we appreciate them. And part of that was we honored our retirees this last week at a banquet. And I think we do
a a good job letting honoring retirees who dedicated so much to the art district in our community. And I always enjoy that night. And and then I did attend the farewell the last half of the farewell pops concert because we were bargaining till 8 o'clock. But I went over and saw I got to see finally in person the state sets that um won the state championship and that was exciting. That's a lot. >> Awesome. Um yeah, same thing. Um Compass Committee, last compass committee of the of the season um this school year. Um educator appreciation week. Was great to go schools, talk to Peter, talk to the teachers and the administrators there. Wonderful presentations. So many schools, so many wonderful people that make this happen. And so we did a good job honoring them. Um
city council meeting as well. And then the retirement dinner was wonderful. It was great to see the the people that have put so much of their life, you know, and I think that's a interesting moment for somebody, you know, you're you're looking back at some of these people a third of their life, sometimes maybe even half their life. Um, and and it's a big deal to look at what they've done and the commitment that they've made in education um and the future development in kids that they've instilled. And I think that's something that we get a chance to honor and I think it's just absolutely huge. And so I was so happy to be a part of that. >> I too started the week last week um attending the final compass meeting and then that
evening went on to city council and um I was really proud um to see so many um representatives from our schools there that evening. a lot of uh building leadership as well as um school board and administration and um I attended seven out of nine of the teacher appreciation events at the schools and the retirement dinner as Mr. Alexander said was really special and it was special to see their supporters and their families who were there to support them as well. I did pretty much the same thing everyone else did and it it's I'll echo everyone here about all of that. We we do a really good job of appreciating our staff because we know how important they are to our kids. So, all right, let's >> and I really should I feel remissed because
we should give a big shout out to the HR department who planned that planned all of those assemblies, teacher appreciation assemblies or educator appreciation. I got this smacked that out of my vocabulary. educator appreciation assemblies as well as our retirement dinner because it was truly spectacular, thoughtful and they really went out of their way to do that. Entire HR department deserves a hand. >> Thank you, Todd. All right, next we have awards and kudos. Mr. Oliver, >> pick one. Okay, thank you guys for for having us here again. Um, the last talk of the month for our April kiddos. Um, I've got two of you. The first one will start with the seventh grader, Hazen Lloyd. Come here, BUDDY. UM, this is Hazen. Well, where I guess you you can go where you want with
it. Um, this is Hazen. Hazen's a seventh grader with us. He carries a 3.3 GPA. Um, and I'm gonna read some of the things that Hazen's teachers had to say about you. Hazen, um, you show respect to your teachers and contribute to a positive and focused environment. Your attitude and work ethics set a great example for all the other kiddos in class. You are such a helpful and positive presence in our room. You're always willing to lend a hand and support others. The way you carry yourself shows thoughtfulness and kindness. U Miss Dickens says, "You are a confident child. You participate often in class discussions. Your kindness towards others, adults, and peers makes you an amazing individual." I appreciate you so far through two years, and I am excited to see what you do as
name graders. Thanks, BUDDY. And this next young lady, I was going to talk about her, but she insisted that she give the speech. So, EIGHTH GRADER KAYLEE HALL. I'M KIDDING. SHE'S PANICKING inside right now. It's okay. All right. Um, this is Kaylee Hall. Kayle's an eighth grader with us. She carries a 3.34 GPA. Um, Haley, here's what your teachers had to say about. No matter the topic, you are always participating in class discussions. You have developed into the most incredible writer, but most of all, you are a critical thinker. One of the most important traits you can develop. You always try your best in history and you always try to participate in class discussions, debates, and arguments. Is that normal? Yeah. Um, you are a joy to have in class and very deserving of this
award. You're a hardworking young lady who is always willing to work with others, participate in group work, often taking a leadership role. And as Shade said, you always work extremely hard and truly want to understand the material you are learning. K enjoyed seeing you grow through three years at CCMS. Good luck. I hope THIS take parents come up around. Take pictures everyone. >> You don't have to sit there. Okay. Congratulations. >> Come on up thisulations. You have to stand in the middle. >> Right in the middle in front. Yeah. >> Yeah. All right. Next, we have a proclamation for educators appreciation week, which is May 4th through 8th, 2026. Whereas educators play a vital role in shaping the future by imparting knowledge, fostering curiosity, and nurturing the potential of every student. And whereas teachers, counselors,
administrators, staff dedicate themselves daily to ensuring the academic, social, and emotional growth of our students. And whereas educators inspire critical thinking, creativity, and a love of learning, empowering students to achieve their dreams and contribute to society in meaningful ways. And whereas educators often go above and beyond their duties, serving as mentors, role models, and trusted advocates for the children in their care. Whereas the contributions of educators have a lasting impact on the communities they serve, enriching the lives of students, families, and society as a whole. And whereas we recognize that education is the foundation upon which a brighter, more equitable future is built. And whereas the Fremont RE1 School District employs amazing educators who do an excellent job each and every day. Now therefore, let it be proclaimed by the directors of the Canyon City
School Board, proclaim May as Educator Appreciation Month in recognition of the tireless dedication, passion, and commitment that educators display every day in shaping the minds and hearts of future generations. encouraging all citizens to celebrate and show gratitude to the educators who inspire, support, and guide our students, fostering an environment of growth, learning, and opportunity for all. Join me in giving all of our educators a hand. Thank you. Next, we have some information items. The first one being a standard operating procedure Ike- protocol for single subject acceleration SSA from middle school 8th grade to high school 9th in math presented to the board for information. It's a new SOP from gifted and talented education outlining guidance for rare occasions with single subject acceleration as it's needed for middle school students to accept excess high school level
math courses. All right. Next, we have one of our favorite things, the student presentation. All right. So, our plan for how we're going to present and what we're going to present started back in January. In January of each year, um, I get with the staff. For those of you that don't know me, I think a lot of you do. I'm Mr. Julian. I'm the principal here at Lincoln for short time longer with all of you. So, in January, we started talking. We said, "What do we want the board to see?" And this year, we decided that we wanted them to see just some of the great things going on in school. And I asked the teachers, "What do you think?" These these three presentations are what came up. So, we found eight representatives who could
talk about them, and that's what they're going to do. So, just three mini presentations. So, we'll start with this one, and I'll let you guys take it away. Okay. Good evening, members of the board. My name is Millia and I'm a and I'm a second grader at Lincoln. >> My name is Dawson Boyd and I'm a third grader at Lincoln. Today we're here to learn about our peer buddy program. This program allows general educate students like us to spend time in the gorilla den. We help with things like morning morning circle classroom activities playtime and social interaction. >> But it's more than just helping. It's about building real relationships in the classroom. Work alongside students during um their daily routines. This can look like happening with morning work and playing games and current communications or
something with a student and being a friend. We learn how to pitch and how to communicate. in different ways and how to support others and a respectful and meaningful way. >> This program has a big impact on us. We've learned that everyone communicates differently, but everyone wants connection and friendship. It's helped us become more understanding, more inclusive, and more confident. Not just in the classroom, but in our everyday lives. For the students we work with, this program creates more opportunities to socialize, build relationships, and feel included. For us, it has changed how we see others, and how we show up in our school community. Thank you for supporting programs like this. >> You have any questions? >> You did a very nice job. Hi, I'm Andrew from fourth grade class and we're all I'm Rosie.
I'm Ryan. I'm Grace. And this is our littering project. Recently, I noticed multiple pieces of trash on the playground. We have decided to stop the trash by making this lecture to help encourage kids in our school to stop learning in the playground. Every single piece of trash that is thrown away is another step to a healthy clean. >> How do we know who it is? We don't exactly know who it is, but we are one big family and this should help the playground from being so >> we have almost three trash cans through the third playground. Three trash cans is enough to throw your trash can, so please use them. Do you guys want the video? >> Every little action counts when it comes to helping our planet. And there are so many ways we
can all help. Imagine a candy wrapper on the ground. we can pick it up and put it in the rubbish bin. Or better yet, if it's recyclable, we can put it in the recycling bin. This helps keep our parks and streets clean. When we visit places like forests or parks, it's good to stay on paths and trails. This way, we avoid stepping on small plants and disturbing animals homes. And what about going to school at the park? Instead of getting a ride in a car, we could ride a bike or walk. This way, we don't make smoke that can pollute the air. This keeps our air cleaner and healthier for everyone. At home, we can save energy by doing simple things. Remember to turn off the light when we leave a room and not to
leave the tap running when we're done using it. This way, we use less electricity and water. And that's good for the earth, too. Lastly, let's think about all the things we throw away. We can help by reducing, reusing, and recycling our waste. So, instead of throwing away that old toy, maybe we could give it to someone else to play with. Or we could recycle our cardboard boxes instead of throwing them away. What are some other ways we can take care of our environment? Remember, even the smallest actions can make a big difference. >> What's the purpose? Our purpose is to have a healthy, clean playground. The big part the big part of this is to have a healthy, clean, and safe playground. We find we find pieces of trash every day. The trash blows around
and travels everywhere. So if you can if you find a piece of trash, just pick it up and then we're one step closer to a clean. >> Questions? >> Do you call it a rubbish bin now? Mr. Alexander is our silliest coordinator. >> Great job. So I have So do you get help with that from the rest of the student body? Have you noticed that it's made a difference? >> Yeah, at recess we help pick it up. and your other friends join you and people. >> That's great. >> So, is it cleaner out there? >> Yeah. >> Nice. >> Make you feel really good. >> Thanks to all you guys. If you can pick up your trash can. Hello, I am Morgan Williams third grade master's class. Hello, I am Aries best in fourth grade
Clark's class. Thing Thursdays happens every every th Thursdays happens every month on Thursdays. >> It's a fun event for students and sometimes their families. >> Some are for older kids and some is for everyone. Thursday pickle ball, basketball or hockey. We should bake, hike, and have game night. >> My favorite throwing Thursday is the baking cuz I get to eat food. >> My favorite throwing Thursday was the pickle ball cuz I can handle the pen. I like throwing Thursdays because it gets me out of the house. I like throwing Thursdays because it gives me something to fun to do after school. Next year, I want there to be more athletic, including families. >> Next year, I want it to be more activities for families. >> Questions. >> So, is this an after school thing? >>
Yes. And it also happens once more. >> What was it called again? Something >> throwing Thursdays. >> Thrilling Thursdays. >> So, are your families involved at all? Yes, there's a lot of um Thursdays that my families are involved. >> I'll say half the war. >> What do you think their favors are? >> I think mine was tease with moms. >> I think my my parents are probably with dad and my two moms. >> Well, thank you both. That was great. ALL RIGHT. OKAY. THANK YOU, Lincoln students, Lincoln families. Thank you for making the effort to be here tonight. I really >> take a picture with the kids. >> Yep. Yeah. If you guys all want to come up, you can leave your papers on the chairs if you want and then come right up here.
Right. first. You guys are in front of us. >> Thanks, kids. You did a great job. All right. Next, we have a presentation from Schneider Electric. When I grow up, I want to be like those kids. >> Well, special shout out to the recycling. Obviously, we're here to talk to you guys about a project that we undertook the past several years and uh it didn't go unnoticed that they were talking about reducing waste, turn lights off, and turn water fountains off. So, u I'm going to let K uh tell a little bit of background about what we did here with you guys at city and we're going to share with you some numbers at the end and uh give it back a little bit of time. >> Yes. Amazing. And thank you guys for having
us here today. And like we mentioned earlier, we really appreciate this partnership and Scott is doing great for us today. We love you to see it. Um I will go ahead and move on to the agenda here. Really the goal today is to just kind of take a step back and look at a project that we did at the district where we started really this relationship back in 2022. Um, fast forward to here in 2026, we have a full year of savings from our project which is really focused around how how we can reduce energy usage at the school district. How we can reduce water usage, how we can reduce natural gas. Really looking at every, you know, nook and cranny where we can have some more savings, whether it's related to on the energy
side, on the operation side or a holistic view of how we can reduce that for savings for the district. Um, so this design for a project took place in May of 2022. Uh, this design last about eight months of really figuring out what energy conservation measures make the most sense for the district at the time, especially going after the bond and the best grant. Fast forward to where we are now with our performance guarantee. Um, this first year under the Colorado Energy Office really kicks off where we started measuring and verifying our energy conservation measures that we implemented at the district. Um different schools had different measures that we were you know measuring over the time of the usage. Um we also were able to kind of enhance our services that we have with the
district looking at our energy management tracking all the utility bills. Um getting really creative. I know we were out here two weeks ago for Earth Day and had a lot of fun solar car and house building with the students. Um, so today we will go over a lot of these numbers of what we're seeing, but to go over one of the goals of what this project hit was looking at our the classrooms um making sure they're a comfortable learning environment, seeing where we can reduce energies like I mentioned and then a way to modernize the building. So, as you can see below, I won't really get into a lot of it since we have limited time, but here's the scope that we implemented in the project where over the lifetime of this project, the goal
was to see $6.7 million in savings over the lifetime. >> Yep. So, we'll share uh the savings numbers to date. So, in year one, uh we had a guarantee of just under $200,000, $199,47 uh we achieved 206,554 and and I need to catch myself. I kept saying we this is really in large part to Scott and his team uh running the facilities and very uh forward thinking way making sure he's being a good steward of of the facilities, the occupants and uh as well as the the utility spend associated with those. Um if we include the installation uh we're at $385,000. Um, and you do some quick math about what we can expect in year two, we should be celebrating a half million dollars in savings uh in company. So, fantastic job. >> Any questions?
>> You answer a lot of them at work session. So, thank you for your work. >> We appreciate the partnership. >> Absolutely. >> There might be one thing, Kate, that would be helpful. Part of what was very attractive about our initial engagement with Schneider was the the inclusion of the Colorado Office of Energy and what that looks like through measurement verification. So I know that you had an opportunity to work with the board during work session, but it's also important during our regular session just to kind of capture some of that. They've heard it before, but if you don't mind just for everyone hearing, we're happy to hear those year one numbers. We look forward to the 20 years of this and saving money. It is part of our commitment to the community, but what
happens when and if if we don't see the kind of savings that we eventually because we did we lease purchased this on about a $4 million note. So like what happens when if we find that it's not doing what it's supposed to? >> That's a great point. So uh all of this the guarantee exists because of the cash flow uh that that Adam has mentioned. You guys did take out a note to pay for this. If we didn't save the energy that we guaranteed, you guys might be upside down on that. No, that's hence the guarantee energy savings. This is all supervised by the Colorado Energy Office, which is a third party here, governmental agency. So, we submit all of our findings to them. They bless it so that we can it's a little bit
of checks and balance that I guess you could say. Uh to Adam's point, if we ever found ourselves in what we call a shortfall where we haven't achieved the savings that we're guaranteed, the district would be owed a check to make up the difference. So that from a financial standpoint, you are in a uh comfortable place. >> We appreciate that. Thank you for clarifying. >> Absolutely. >> Well, thank you'all for your time. >> Really nice. >> Thank you. >> We look forward to coming back sometime soon. Thanks for making the trip and we really do appreciate what you do for our kids with those projects. >> Absolutely. >> All right. To address the board of education, is there? >> No. >> Thank you. All right. Great. And thank you. In listening to the board member
report, board members reports this evening, I was like, "Oh, that's a lot of the same things that I said. Let's focus on some things that are different." Um, bargaining shows up on the calendar as taking place in April or May, but the work that goes into bargaining is actually work that takes place throughout the year. Um, efforts that you might be doing around cost containment or planning for what the next school year looks like. These are things that we're actually openly talking about the next school year at midyear. So, I really appreciate the involvement of the board of education. It's important. Um, Robin, Todd, thank you for that. And thank you to all of you for just having that interest in overall how we're engaging with the people who serve the district. Now, I'm talking
about both of our associations. And really recognizing that as we take care of those folks, we take care of our kids. Yes, we wrapped it up last week. It's a lot of work. Um, in the case of Certified this year, we ended up coming together for three meetings. That's in addition to the budget presentation which Glenn provided last week. Very well done. as well as the work that we did in 4x4 and 8 by8 and prep that was take take place between meetings when we were together in April versus when we were together in May and for all of the team and that includes 16 people we say sides and I think it's just such an unfortunate word there's two teams that come together and we work as one team to get through that so
thank you for the word bargaining is notable and h having been past bargaining it feels good so happy to be beyond bargaining for the 25 26 school here. Another note that really feels like end of year is my completion of all director and principal evaluations. At this point, the lingering evaluations, aside from just a little bit of metric that's still coming in from measures of student learning, they're in those are done. those contracts are forthcoming and uh just couldn't be more proud of what you're seeing this evening and the people that I'm putting forward as their new role as directors as well as some people that are changing administrative roles and taking on some new responsibilities and for some other people their first foray into leadership here at the admin level. So thank you happy
to have those done for the returning folks um and welcome aboard to anyone that's new to work. Uh the retirement reception has already been duly noted. I'll take a little bit different take on it other than just saying thank you to the people that put the hard work into it and just recognizing that we're you know we lose we lose really great people but when we lose them after they've been here and they put so much into the work kind of like Matt was saying you said a third or a half or some of these people who are actually doing closer to twothirds of their life at the time of retirement that they put in that I just that room whether it be the old days when we were at the abbey whether it be
the year we at Pizza Madness, whether it be that we we're over at the the Steeple Event Center, it fills the warm the room with a lot of warmth and um I'll miss those people and and he'll he's not totally done yet, but we'll miss one of our own directors, too, because Brian was recognized last week and it was an honor to be there and recognize you as one of those eight, Brian. And then lastly, the central administration office did something new this year. We've recognized that inside the strategic plan there's an opportunity for us to do better with some of our priority areas too. We went through a little kind of maybe this perhaps there. Let's really focus there. Ultimately talking about priority area three engagement and the inclusion of a Canyon City Schools
that wasn't specific just to the school but to the district a float and in this case a flotilla that was part of our celebration at the annual awesome um parade was a ton of fun. It was a ton of fun. We had kids, we had staff, we had family, we had a school bus, we had a house going down the street. And a lot of the people that are in this room were also part of that we're celebrating. So that's it for me. Um, not a lot this time, but it's a nice end of year. Thank you. And to concer with thank you Jamie your department did so much at this end and well done. >> All right policy work everybody's favorite. So would a director please make a motion on file J ICJ? I
would like to introduce and make a motion to approve file JICJ, student use of cell phones and other personal technology devices presented to us for the second reading and final vote. It's an update to current policy from director of technology Dan Copa to clarify that students with IEPs or 504 plans may use communication devices during the school day when required as an approved accommodation and to include technical edits from Caspie. >> I second that motion. >> A motion in a second. Is there further discussion hearing? None. Roll call, please. >> Mr. Albbright. I >> Mr. Alexander votes I Miss Brad >> I >> and Mr. Re. >> Motion passes. Next we have file Aig J. I have a motion from you guys please. >> Motion to approve file J instructional materials selection and adoption presented
report for second reading by vote. I want to hear about >> I know. I feel like I'm here all the time. It's almost exciting. I I'll be joining you next year, Tracy. I stand here and then you sit over there. Uh so um when we went to Utah last time, uh the team actually had a bad day day two. Um and everybody was beat and I had to remind them, hey guys, I don't know if you know this, but right now you're 24th in
the nation out of 1600 teams. That's not a bad place to be. out of 200,000 shooters, uh, all of them are in the top 200, right? So, uh, incredible, incredible. It's hard for them to see it when they have a bad day. But with that being said, they did qualify. Uh, this year they changed it to top 27 teams to qualify for nationals. And so, they're 24. So, like they they kind of squeaked in there. Um, but their performance far exceeds what they did that day. And I know at nationals um they'll they'll absolutely thrive. Uh I don't know if you guys I I hit all because I I I like to brag them because they they really are awesome. But they win just went one, two, three. There was one kid from Mar County
that bumped in one of the the matches our third place out. I was like, "Come on." But then standing just wiped the whole board. Um so absolutely incredible. And that's that that was an invitational match um last Thursday. uh top it's the top the direct state director invites the top shooters to shoot individually from the state of Colorado and they went in there and just absolutely proved why they're number one uh in the state of Colorado. So it was it was like almost embarrassing for everybody else. Uh so those city kids went in there and just cleaned the house. It was it was incredible. Incredible. >> Um go ahead. >> Well, we're not going to be able to recognize them because it's the end of the school year. Christian, can you help us remember to
do that and please keep us posted on that? >> Absolutely. Absolutely. Um, so this match, we knew we qualified, but we're waiting on Army money. Uh, Army is going to pay for three of the kids. They won't pay for the graduating seniors who qualify. Um, so which is fine. Out of the JRTC funds, we can definitely afford two airline tickets and uh food for those kids. Not an issue at all. Uh we will fly out June 17th. Um start practice 18th, compete 1920 and then fly home the 21st after the bank. >> Fantastic. >> Thank you. >> That's why you raised those funds to do >> 100%. And it's crazy how much this community pours into that program. So >> fantastic. Awesome. Well, and congratulate them for us progress so far and I'm sure their
success will be next. >> Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Super excited for >> Thank you so much. Yes. Please keep us posted. >> All right. We've already motioned and seconded.
