001Good evening everybody. We're gonna call uh bring our we've already been in session, executive session. We're going to call the meeting back to where uh our March 26, 2026 Lake Forest Board of Education uh meeting like to quickly thank uh folks at South for hosting us this evening. If you're joining us online, you do see that we're in a different uh different atmosphere. We are at Lake Force South tonight. Uh, first item on our agenda is our pledge of allegiance and our moment. Please stand under God, indivisible and for >> Thank you. Please be seated. Item 2.3 on our agenda is our roll call of board members. Mrs. Rash >> here. >> Dr. Wyatt >> present. >> Mrs. McCoski >> here. >> Vice President Starky >> here >> and James R President is here certainly

002as chair of the record show that all five board members are present. Item 2.4 approval of agenda. >> Make a motion we approve the agenda as presented. Second. Have a motion and a second to approve this evening's agenda. Any questions on that motion? Hearing none, I'll call for a vote. All those in favor? I >> opposed. Extensions. Motion carries. 5 Z. >> 2.5. Approval of minutes. I make a motion we approve the minutes from the March 12th, 2026 meeting of Lake Forest Board of Education. Second. >> Have a motion and a second floor to approve our meeting minutes from March 12th. Any questions on that motion? Hearing none. I'll call for a vote. All those in favor? I >> opposed abstensions. Motion carries 5-0. >> And moving into our recognitions and presentations. Um judging by

003the audience we have, you can tell we have a few on the docket this evening, which we do love to see because this is the one area of the night where we get to highlight our staff, students, and our community. And we're going to start with our first item this month of the military child, which is next month. And we're going to have a meeting at the high school where we're going to bring folks in and honor them. But I did want to read the proclamation and it reads as follows. Proclamation recognizing April as month of the military child. Whereas military connected children serve alongside their parents and guardians in the United States air armed forces by demonstrating strength, resilience, and adaptability through frequent relocations, schools transitions, and periods of separation from loved ones. And

004whereas these children face unique challenges that require courage, flexibility, and perseverance while continuing to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. And whereas schools and communities play a vital role in supporting military connected students by providing stability, encouragement, and a welcoming environment. And whereas recognizing the month of the military child highlights the sacrifices made by military families and honors the contributions of the youngest members of our military community. And whereas the color of purple symbolizes all branches of the military and serves as a visible reminder of the unity and strength of military families. Now therefore, be it resolved that the Lake Force Board of Education hereby proclaims the month of April as the month of the military child and encourages schools, staff, students, and community members to recognize and honor the strength, sacrifices, and contributions of military

005connected children. Be it further resolved that the Lake Force Board of Education falls upon our community to participate in activities and initiatives that celebrate and support military children and their families throughout the month of April. Adopted this 26th day of March, 2026, signed by Superintendent Dr. Lucas and myself James too. Uh we have a presentation by our host school like South. Hi everyone. I'm Dr. Sarah Huber. I have the principal here at Lake South. I'm going to be speaking with pharmacy 6. um our assistant principal. Um we are super excited to have everyone with us this evening. Uh thank you for being in attendance tonight. Thank you President Ralph, Vice President Starky um and members of the board, Dr. Lucas and all of our district office staff principles who are here with us this evening.

006Um you know what makes South such a special place is the people that are here for our bus drivers to our custodians, our teachers, everyone involved. Um all of those individuals come together every day to support our students. Um, and it really takes all of us. It takes a village. It's it's true what they say. Um, and I'm super proud to be the principal here and see the way that our team shows up for our kids and each other every single day. One highlight we would love to share this evening um, is our group crew. So, we have a couple kiddos here. We have Elena, Kinsley, and heras. Um, and what they do is monthly they take orders from our staff. Um, they serve hot coffee, cold drinks. um they take all the payments, the

007money, um and make sure our staff are very well taken care of. And we tonight they were able to help us here with that. So we get that >> I would say it's better than I can make in the morning for sure. So doing a great job. >> We'll all be up at midnight enough. Thank you to those families for our kiddos here this evening. We really appreciate that. Um we're also incredibly grateful to Mrs. Borette and Dr. Jones who helped us put together a video that you will see tonight that actually highlights all of the amazing work that we do um here at South. And we another thank you our custodial team um set all of this up for us this afternoon. Uh Mr. Kent, Mr. Kemp, and Miss Davis. And then Mr. Mason

008who uh Mr. Mr. Mason, today was actually his last day with us. After about 25 years with Lake For School District, he retired. So, we sent him on his way uh this afternoon to enjoy retirement. Um and then lastly, thank you to our PTO, Mrs. Vickers, Mrs. Gerald, Mrs. Weaver, and who helped with our tokens of appreciation for the board. Um and then Mrs. Leon, who helped us secure some really awesome flowers this evening. But at this time, I've spoke long enough. We're gonna go ahead and play a video that highlights our the work that we're doing here at top. What do you like most about your teacher? >> I like that she's so kind to everybody. >> What's your favorite subject, sir? >> Uh, math. >> What do you like best about your teacher?

009>> She's kind and she's just >> I love teaching at Lake South because I feel very supportive of my co-workers and my admin. It is a very fun place to be. Um, and the kids are amazing. and our families are great, super involved and we have a great sense of community. To me, being a Spark for life means being a part of my community, always giving back to the people um that brought me to where I am today. Um I did attend Lake Forest as a student, so it really brings it full circle being able to come back and teach here. Um give back to that. >> I love Miss Hobs because there's the best teacher in the world. >> I like school. >> I'm Miss Hobs and I'm Spark for Life. I'm grateful for

010everything we do in this classroom. >> If I had known what a pleasure it was working with kids this age uh in elementary school, I probably would have done this a long time ago. The the staff here, they're the best people I've ever worked with. I love the class room community that we have at South and I love that everybody gets along and we all love each other. >> My favorite subject is math because I like to subtract hundreds that has um uneven tens. I like about school is Dr. Okay. >> My favorite part about school is um playing with my friends. My favorite part about school is math. My name is Amari and this is Miss Weaver. What do you like about S? >> I have awesome students. I have awesome colleagues. And this

What do you love about South? >> What's not to love about South? The staff is amazing. The students are awesome, hard workers, and the families are super supportive and love to be involved. >> What do you love about South? What do you love about South? I love our students, our staff, and all of our families. >> And I love everyone here. >> That's so bad. to a lot of bloopers and behind the scenes. Danielle and Dr. Jones did the best that they could at taking all of our greatest parts of the day that they were

012here for. Um, thank you so much for the opportunity to speak to in front of you today. Thank you. I turn it over to President. >> Thank you, Dr. >> But I just wanted to comment on the video. Well, a few things. First of all, we appreciate the work that you guys are doing because it's we hear such wonderful things about uh the school and students and the staff and all the posit things that are happening. Um but for me, it didn't need to go any further than some of the comments in the video, but specifically the one from your constable. So, that kind of resonated with me. So, um, appreciate that you're building those types of relationships and and, uh, uh, environment here in the civil. Thank you. >> And thanks again to Brooer.

013Thank you guys so much. We both appreciate it. We got >> All right. Next up, um, I have Mr. Bardine, but Luke, have you got uh chit sports? >> So, actually start up now. Okay. All right. Yeah. M Davis, come on up. Mr. >> Good evening. Tonight, I'm here to share the achievements of the WT Chippen Middle School students selected for the Delaware Junior All-State Chorus. The All-State process begins with a highly competitive audition in the fall. This year, over 400 students from across Delaware audition, the largest group we've seen postcoid. We had 10 students from our program audition, the most we've ever had. Three years ago, Chipman did not have students participating in this process. What you are seeing now reflects a shift in both expectations and opportunity. Students stepping into more rigorous coral

014work and rising to meet that challenge. For the audition, students prepared their individual voice part from an SATV coral selection repertoire that is significantly more challenging than what we are typically able to perform in our daily ensembles. In addition, they were required to sight sing a four measure melody that they'd never seen before with only two attempts to perform it accurately. that requires not just talent, but discipline, focus, and a level of musical independence that is truly exceptional at this age. Junior All State Chorus is open to both seventh and eighth grade students, which makes it especially noteworthy that two of our selected students are in seventh grade, a reflection of their individual preparation, work ethic, and commitment to growth. These students then spent several days rehearsing alongside the top middle school singers from across

015the state under the direction of guest conductor Dr. Adrian Coleman, culminating in a performance that represents the very highest level of middle school coral excellence in Delaware. And I want to be very clear about this that this is bigger than a concert. This is students learning how to be vulnerable. This is students learning how to listen, adjust, and grow in real time. This is students realizing that their voice matters individually and as something part of something larger than themselves. This is what music education does. proud doesn't even begin to cover it. What these students have accomplished and what they represent for the future of our program at Chipman in their high school careers and beyond is something truly special. It is an absolute privilege to do this work and watch them rise to this level.

016At this time, please join me in recognizing this year's Delaware Junior All State Forest members. Eighth grader, Evelyn Coleman, Alto. Seventh grade, Reel Everett, soprano. Seventh grader, Wolf Robins, Alto, and eighth grader, Bailey St. Cl. Next up, we got Mr. Thompson from the high school. We're in a pretty amazing tie. >> Thank you. >> Hi everyone. I'm Jeff Thompson, band director at Lake Forest High School. I'm actually uh standing in place of Mrs. Laws tonight for uh to introduce the all state choir students from the high school. Uh so uh three students from the choir at Lake Forest High School made all state uh this year. We have Kaylee McDow who's a senior who was sixth overall sub one um in the 2026 Delaware senior all state treble choir. uh Thomas Finnfinger who's a senior

017um Alto 2 in the 2026 Delaware senior Allstate Treble Choir and Ana Wright who's a sophomore uh soprano one in the 2026 Delaware senior all state um mix choir Wait a minute. Mrs. Davis certainly uh gave a great speech, but some things that I wanted to add uh before I introduce the high school um band students, the instrumental side of things is that music um teaches a lot of things that can't be learned uh necessarily through lessons. It's through um it's through struggle and perseverance and reflection and self-discipline and teamwork and working together. And that is something that these students um certainly reflect in their lives. Um it's it's very uh daunting to audition for these ensembles. You are going up against the best people in the entire state. And although Delaware is a small

018state, there's a lot of talented uh and dedicated students throughout the state. So, it is really great that we have two students from Lake Forest High School make all state instrumental ensembles. And uh our first one is Aiden White uh made Delaware 2026 Delaware All State Senior Band percussion. and Madison Buller uh was auditioned successfully into the 2026 Delaware All State Senior Orchestra on violin one. >> All right, good evening. I Mr. Pearson from WT Chim to support athletics. I am going to give the coaches the opportunity to kind of talk individually about their season and their Athens, but just in general, I think our winter season was such a beautiful demonstration of perseverance and go throughout the year. We have a young lady who had never stepped on the wrestling mat before and then

019turned out to be a state champion. We had a basketball team that was extremely young and got better and better every day, which ended up in a championship at the end of their tournament. And then we had a cheerleading team who in a very unusual way played second very often throughout the year and then worked through that to also win a championship for WT Chip. So great year or a great time winner sports for WT Chippen and this is Mr. Lawson our wrestling coach to speak about our young ladies here. >> So I'd like to introduce Maya Kelly. um first year of wrestling um wrestling a lot of boys in there because of girls like Maya she came out wrestled wasn't afraid to wrestle any boy in the room um being first year wrestling she

020went to the world championship she placed first at 124 pounds uh because of girls like Maya u actually for sanction worlds wrestling so next year 26 27 may be the first sanctions wrestling They'll make my name Miller, boys basketball coach at Chipman. Um, I've been doing this for quite some time and this year I know it was going to be a challenging year because we had 15 guys and of those 15 guys only three had middle school bang experience. Um, so one thing I told him at the beginning of the season was don't let our record dictate our success this year because every year they had a middle school tournament and I told them you'll still get a chance to play for our championship. Um, so our last home game we end up winning eighth

021grade recognition night. So, that was good momentum going to the tournament and then we won both our games in the tournament and the boys ended with a first place finish. I have six of them with me tonight. I have probably about four or five that are on the track team that make it. So, I'm going to introduce these young men um because they deserve the credit. Not myself or my assistant coach, Coach Brady back there. So, like I said, it was a little challenging at the beginning, but they stuck with it, worked hard. We probably had about 33 34 practices, two hours a day. So I told him, you know, you're going to be with me probably longer you going to be with your family because we practice six days a week. So we put

022some time in in the show by the end of the season. First up, we have seventh grader Davon Hooks. Sixth grader Shelton. Seventh grader Grayson J. Grayson and Davon are two of the three players that returned from the previous season. Seventh grader Joshua No. and sixth grader. >> Thank you guys for having Yeah, this is Rley. >> Hi, >> welcome. >> Um, gonna be gonna bring the girls in. Um, this is our sixth state championship in a row. Um, our season did not start out as expected, much like what Mr. Miller just described. We lost for the first time in many years, and it was very frustrating for the girls. And then we went to a competition and we won grand champs and beat all the high schools. So, it's like crazy what happens with

023cheer because you can teach them everything, but they have to actually do it when they get out there and sometimes they do it, sometimes they don't. Um, but they did a phenomenal job. Um, and I we practice about three hours a day, six days a week, and so we practice a lot with our high school team as well, and the girls have just done a phenomenal job. So, um, and also, um, I was state coach of the year this year, so that was exciting to represent All right. So, let's get a little Olivia. Elizabeth the Senate handling. There are 25 girls on our team, but they also because it's spring, they all they're on track and softball and many other things. So, >> Thank you. So, appreciate it. Thank you. >> We have anybody else?

024>> That is all. All right, thank you very much everybody. Thank you. Really appreciate it. >> Parents, guardians, great job with your kiddos. Phenomenal stuff we're having happening in the district. Thank you guys for Thank you. Have a great night. smile very loud too. with us. All right, we're gonna jump back in our agenda. Item 2.7, citizens participation. I'm going to read directly from board policy K public concerns and complaints. Public concerns section. The citizens participation item board agenda is an opportunity for an interested citizen to speak publicly and address the board. Those who wish to speak publicly, whether in person or online, must complete and submit the public commentformational form, PCIs, by 12 p.m. on the scheduled board meeting date. The PCI, which is available on our district website, must be completed in its

025entirety and submitted to the superintendent's office by the scheduled deadline. The citizens participation agenda item is limited to 30 minutes and individual speakers are limited to three minutes per speaker. In the event interested citizens wish to speak on a particular concern as a group the group should select one individual speaker to speak on their behalf at the discretion of the board president or chair. Speaking time may be limited to two minutes per speaker to allow for greater participation. The room speakers will be recognized by the board president or chair in the order in which their names appear on the approved list. The board values citizens participation and respects the right of all speakers to speak freely. However, all speakers should maintain a level of decency and decorum to ensure a public forum that means that

026remains productive and respectful. The public should not expect discussion or responses to any speakers comments at the board meeting. And my understanding is that as of 12 p.m. today, we did not have anyone signed up. So, this item will come back for uh it will come back again on our next board meeting uh next month. Jumping into our report section, section three. First one is item 3.1 student council appointment with us this evening. Hello. How are you? >> Good. How are you? >> Good. >> Welcome. So, we first our first question is what rate are you and what's your title? 11 and 11. All right. Well, we appreciate your report. We also admire and appreciate uh your service to your class as well. Thank you. Hope to see you again soon. Thank you. Item 3.2 says the report looks by Mr. Carl. Yeah. Sorry. All right. >> Okay. Uh tonight I'm presenting the facility assessments and maintenance repair plan for the 2025 and 2026 school year. As you're recall this time every year, uh we have to go through this. Back in

031January 2024, the state released Senate substitute one for Senate Bill 270. Through this bill, a facility assessment tool or evaluation was created with the intent to help school districts review and assess the buildings in a standardized way. The assessment was created to help identify areas needed attention to keep facilities clean, safe, and functional for all students. In the bill, all school districts are required to have facility assessment tool and a main repair plan completed and board approved by May 1st of each year. And as you can see in the attachments she got earlier this week, the facility assessment evaluation is very detailed and too large to review page by page at the board meeting but will be available on the district website. Looking back at our 2025 projects, we replaced the roof for the kitchen

032area at the high school and the roof for the administration area deck and continue to paint in the central and match district colors. And in North we had a few projects going on include a new boiler new boiler gun, renovations to the reading wing to uh which entailed as abatement, new flooring and painting. Uh we were able to have the bathrooms ret and also we upgraded the building automation system at North Elementary at Shipment. We renovated Shipment West to include a specimement I'm sorry included as specific new flooring and paint and we also saw a new bullet gun for the main building. The one minor change up there is um instead of post the six bathrooms we plan to use that funding to replace the one one of the two large rooftop moves on the

033gymnasium and also the HC nag building down at the bottom of the complex go ahead. So in addition to those projects, we were also able to uh recover the trap here at the high school. And we were able to uh repair and recode transports and we were also able to reglaze the land form at the high school. I picture that too. I'm not sure if everybody saw that, but just in case you didn't, turned out pretty good. Next slide. So the next slide shows just how much we've improved our roof conditions. Back in 2020 over half our building roofs were either in poor or failing conditions. Now in 2026 we have roughly 15% poor condition. And um as you can see every year we continue to have roof replacements in order to repair the repair

034plan. This summer we have a smaller number of projects scheduled. However, they're much larger in scope. Some of the larger projects for the summer are replacing the roof over the nudator of the high school. And then north, we will be replacing the firearm system, the entire building. Uh this will include new pool stations, forms, strobes, and voice alarms. And we'll be continuing our building automation system upgrades, which includes uh new HBA suits for the class link on the first and second floor of North Elementary. Uh we will continue our paint central passenger colors. This should be our final year of that. And at Shipman, we hope to be starting the multi-purpose learning edition by late summer and adding additional parking for staff. >> Uh last thing I'd like to put on the board's radar is

035a few items are quickly approaching the end of their life cycle. Many of the classroom re ventilators at Chipman North and East. These uh units along with the chillers were last replaced on capital renovations in 2002 in Bur and as expected to the size and expense of these projects are typically always scheduled to be replaced on a major capital referendum. The state has not passed a major capital referendum for renovations or improvements in the past six years. As I said, giving districts enhanced minor cap funding. Um although that funding has been very helpful, it it falls far short for the deferred maintenance that is going up throughout all the district in the state. Uh whenever the state does start funding renovations, main district will give submitting for CM. But I'm hopeful that lake, which has

036not had since 2013, but maybe capital will be at top that list. Okay, that's going uh next. So next steps the board is asked to view our facility assessments for our buildings and our preventive maintenance plan for the 2526 school year and then we may need a formal uh approval by the board at the next bill meeting. Any questions? Questions for Mr. walk through it. >> But I just want to know just why the track has a big empty spot on it. >> I mean >> like the not but like the other track was all red. We have these like big areas of >> it was ready exchange is for when they do the relays. >> Yeah. So but it's not the same material. >> No, it is. >> It is. Great. Yeah. >> And

037that picture there is actually an old picture before we got on the line. >> Okay. Well, yeah. I just was like, "Oh, well, don't flip it." >> Yes. So, it helps the runners go to know where they got that stuff. >> Makes sense. I just looked like to me it looked like a different material. I was like, "Oh, so if you fall there, don't." And I actually had to uh rely on some other trackers to help me with that. >> Oh, give me that. Okay. >> Thank you. So I have a couple pointed questions you want to comment. So first question, the fire alarm system might work. Um that's just a test or it's just not something you typically hear. We're going to replace something like that. >> So they're usually about 20 25 year

038lifespan and uh we're getting to point now where we can't get parts for. >> Okay. >> Uh and what we're actually doing is we're going to try and tackle north shipment and east in a year project. >> Okay. So by going north first with Props that are good there's here for a year and then next year with that is that just um hardware is wiring of all that as well. >> Uh it's going to be everything >> you wired everything. Okay. Uh second point question was the um with the pool. Did I hear you say that the tile was replaced? It's not plate was replaced. Is that correct? >> Yeah. It's interesting. >> And the last is just a comment and I've made this comment before and I know Mr. Dempsey has as well when

039moves on the board. We appreciate your work on that facility assessment because we understand the scope and magnitude of what's involved with that. Um and it's not something I I don't know that um the SBA, the legislative committee was in favor of that, but that made it way through all anyway. Um so it's worth appreciate the work that questions. >> All right. Thank you, sir. Item 2.2.10 report, Dr. Lucas. Phoenix Park family, I always like to start off my report with good news and there is always plenty of that here in Lake Forest. To begin with, I want to congratulate Lake Forest Central Elementary School Council, Miss Jen Satderfield, for being named District Behavioral Health Professional of the Year. Mr. Satderfield has been a recipient of number awards last few years, including the Sapphire Award

040for excellence in school counseling. She's also been a huge part of Central's recognition as a Pope Star School, Special Olympic State recognition banner recipient, and as a Delaware this year, Delaware recognition school, Central. >> All right, great things going on at Central. And thank you uh for Mrs. Satfield. Uh great work there. Uh next, I want to thank and congratulate the high school team for the great work with the SAT. Um let's see, was given to all of our juniors last week. Thank you, Mrs. Leon. There's Mrs. there. Mrs. Potter pitched in there as well. And uh the testing process was exceptionally efficient and got nearly all our all of our students tested. Got just a few makeups to go. So, great work there. I also want to point out the um SAT prep Saturdays

041that you guys did. I mean, voluntarily students, 30 35 students showing up Saturday mornings. Uh how many did you get? Four. >> Um no, we actually started in January. Wow. >> So, every Saturday from January until SAT day. >> Wow. That's amazing. >> Incredible. Um, so great work there. That is really dedication and obviously staff were there as well. So, major kudos to the staff for showing up helping coach those students that they can do well on the assessment. So, great work by all concern. Um, finally, I can't let this report go by without congratulating high school performing arts department for the great work they did. um the rain level Jeff Thompson who was here tonight with that amazing tide Mrs. laws, least lost for their presentation of the Adams family. Super awesome. Tons of

042kids. I mean, the cast was massive. Lot of moving parts. Um, and like everything in life, the show was superb and students really represented excellence in education. So, we appreciate that. Uh, I wanted to bring you all up to speed on the work of the capital planning committee. Uh, we just met last week for the third time this year. And at our meeting, we got reports from two subcommittees which had been meeting off of the um comm the major committee meetings. We had a data collection subcommittee and uh they were basically collecting data about growth, number of homes that are being built, families moving into the neighborhoods, things like that. And um the good news is that based on the data, it seems that the pace of the growth and our student population looks manageable

043for the near. So, it doesn't look like we're exploding in population, although there is a lot of potential construction in the district. The second subcommittee, our facilities assessment committee, found that while several of our buildings are very old, as everyone knows here, we're going to have three 100year anniversary parties over the next four years. I think 28 would be the first one. Um, they're still in great condition and very serviceable thanks to the great work of Mr. Star and his team. However, the cost to maintain these buildings, it it gets bigger every year. I think just like six years ago, it was maybe half a million dollars and last year, I think minor cap spent about 1.2 million. So, you know, older buildings cost more to maintain and uh every year it's getting they're getting

044more expensive. Uh Mr. Star mentioned some of the projects are going to come due, ventilation replacement, roof replacements. Even though the great investment we've made in roofs, they never get done because as soon as you get one done, another one, you know, is reaching the end of its its natural life. So, a lot of big projects in the near future. Uh the committee meets again in June and then the next uh part is going to be bringing in community members to help us u make decisions on where we're going to go uh with our next recommendations to the uh thank you Mrs. Rash and Dr. live for your participation on that committee. As always, there are a lot of great things going on in the district. Spring sports is underway. Uh, and we've already seen

045our first concert. We had the spring pops concert, 8th grade, high school combined. That was amazing. Very well done there. Um, Monday, Central Elementary School presents Finding Nemo. So, six o'clock Monday, free entertainment. It's going to be a great show for sure. Um, and that's going to be in our multi-purpose space. And of course, next week is our last week before spring break. Students are only in school Monday through Wednesday. Thursday is a professional learning day. Friday, schools and offices are closed for Good Friday. And then we will be back the following week, week after week after that. Check your account. Uh, let's see. Speaking of spring break, uh please check with your school or central business office if you want to come in and get some business done. Uh spring break is often when

046many of our 12-month employees take vacation. So you'll want to make sure and call ahead to see if they are there if you have to see somebody. Um as always, I'd like to remind everyone to follow us on our website, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, wherever you find your uh information. And that's all I have this evening. I I move the before back president and the board for any questions or discussion. >> Thanks sir. Any questions for Dr. >> Thank you. 324 LFA to Mrs. H. >> Good evening. So we I went to court report first saying thank you to everybody from the community, from the teachers, from the board, everybody as far as participating in the scholarship. We were able to raise over $1,000 um with the baskets this year thanks to you guys. Um we're

047on got a couple more days left of it, but um we wouldn't be able to do it without you guys and it goes to our students, which is what's phenomenal. We're looking forward to all the celebrations, the I love like forest day. We are making a donation towards the I love like forest day to help set off the cost. Um but we're also looking for the celebrations for those people that are retiring. um those the behavioral professional of the year, the ESP, the teacher of the year, we're all that's the time to celebrate. So, this is kind of like a really big time for everybody and we're really looking forward to um participating and celebrating all the staff and everything they do. So, thank you. >> Thank you. Question. >> Thank you. >> All right,

048turning back to our agenda. Moving to section five, unfinished business. I believe this is an action item. Motion that we approve school year 26.75 draft number two and reject year 26.7 draft number one was not during second a motion then a second on the floor to approve draft calendar two and reject draft calendar one modification during discussion. And uh before I follow actually have a discussion on this and um before red we discusses as it goes with anyone and the question is the only turn it over to you Dr. Cooper to put on any updates. We'll go ahead and do that. >> So after I um brought the calendars to you last time one of the uh biggest points of discussion were the parent conferences. So on both drafts I did move those to February

0498th. That not only shortened the gap but then I think it made a little bit more sense. I think we were trying to stick to tradition with the way it was always done. Um that also uh pretty much mirrored the fall and the spring parent conferences. Um so that was the only major change I made on the calendar after the last discussion questions from the discussion. The last time last few times we've had this discussion period there has been a pretty broad discussion these questions and comments and this time they've gone to Dr. Cooper to take that discussion brought them back with some applications feeling. So um have a chance any questions going one more time. Any questions or comments on the motion? Hearing none. I'm going to call for a vote. All in favor?

050>> I extensions. Motion carry 5 Z six is a discussion item policy first meeting. All right. First policy amendment. If we go through these majority of them had no recommended changes to we're going to go through each one and have an opportunity for discussion. Uh board policy FA facility facilities development goals. Questions or comments in this FB facilities planning feed construction plans and specifications. FEF construction cost estimates uh GBC drug feed free workplace and as I started reading this policy I made some notes and they were answered at the very end when it said this was vetted by our council but answered my main question. So any questions or other comments because there there were some substantial changes to uh this and there are some sections that are very well written here and clearly written

051by someone with a higher legal background than all of us. So any questions or comments on GBC drug-free workplace i.e. Organization of instruction. IF lesson plans. IHF homebound instruction. IHG homeschool. I JJ textbook selection and adoption IKB homework and IKF I believe this one um there's a section that we're going to take this one back to our policy committee to make some modifications to this one unless there's any objection I pull this one from approach no objection actions. That lane will get pulled and sent back. The other ones will get forward a vote later this evening. First reading. Okay. Turning back to our agenda. Section 8, personnel. >> Make a motion we approve the personnel report as presented. >> Have a motion and a second on the floor to approve resolution 8.1 personnel report as

052presented. Any questions on that motion? We hear none. I'll call for a vote. All those in favor? I >> opposed. Extensions. Motion carries. 5 Z. >> Section 10. Other business. School choice. Make a motion we approve that as presented. >> Second. >> Motion and a second on the floor to approve resolution 10.1 school choice. Any questions on that motion hearing? None. I'll call for a vote. All in favor? I opposed. Motion carries 5. >> Section 11. other business field trips and make a motion to approve resolution 11.1 field trips as presented. Have >> a motion and a second on the floor to approve resolution 11.1 field trips as present. Any questions on that motion? Hearing none, I'll call for a vote. All those in favor I >> opposed extensions motion carries 5. >> Second 13

053of the business board policies. I make a motion we approve resolution 13.1 bill policies first meeting as modified in discussion. Second >> a motion and a second floor to approve resolution 13.1 board policies first reading as modified during discussion. Any questions on that motion hearing? None. I'll call for a vote. All in favor? I opposed abstensions. Motion carries 5. Thank you Mr. Starthy. Thank you. Turning to uh item 14.1 for the order. It's an opportunity for any board member to bring up or discuss or comment on any item that was not on our agenda this evening. >> Um I'm sure many of us did attend the play. I did one day. It just was I don't get to all of them, but every time I go I'm just always amazed by like just the attendance,

054the setup, the work that has to go into that because I'm I've not ever been in that. Love to go, but I'm just It really does seem like a lot of work and part of a lot of practice. I mean, by the time that that play is over, which was like two and a half hours and I just think about doing that three days straight for the whole I'm like four times four days straight. So, I mean that's a lot of work. Um, so kudos to them. I went to the last show and I know you had you couldn't tell that they were tired of it, but I'm sure they were. >> So, overall, kudos to everybody involved in >> the set was phenomenal. I mean I feel like there's always it's great all the

055time but this year this movement is is all right so at our next excuse me our next meeting will be on April 23rd we only have one meeting in April and we will be holding that at the high school um and as mentioned we will be c celebrating um I'm going to get it wrong so I can read it the month of the military Right. Yeah. >> Yes, sir. >> That will be held at the high school on April 23rd. And um you will also see an agenda item while we be in a report section. U four of us will be attending the National School Boards Association conference in San Antonio in the first part of April when we will be reporting back on our event. >> Go to Buer. I not going. It's farming

056time guys. Farming time. That's what he's saying. >> We appreciate you. >> We appreciate it. >> All right. Unless anyone else has any other uh content for daily order, I will entertain a motion. Look how to say that. I will ask if we have a need for executive session, which I do not believe we do. >> All right. Now, unless anyone has anything else for video, I will entertain a motion to adjourn. >> So, second. I have a motion in the second floor to adjourn this evening. Any questions on that motion before I call for a vote? One last thank you for hosting this evening. It was a great job. Appreciate it. And I would call for a vote. All those in favor? I post extensions. Motion carries 500. Thank you all. Have a great

057night. Take care. Enjoy your spring break. the fire.
