I'm just assuming that's what I told him about 30 minutes ago. He'll be coming shortly. Shirley Shirley It's my Walmart order. Which child has faith? Come on. I think it's today. Mhm. Mhm. Mhm. Mhm. Mhm. Mhm. Mhm. Mhm. Mhm. Mhm. Mhm. Good evening. I'm calling the March 23rd board meeting to order. At this time we

have Ms. Johnson with the invocation and the pledge. Father, we just thank you for your blessings that you are Lord. We just thank you for your mercy. We thank you for your grace. We thank you for your forgiveness. And so Father, I just ask that you Jesus lead and guide us during this meeting. Help us to make decisions that's in the best interest of our school system, our students, and our staff. Lord, we need your guidance. We need your help. And we just thank you for all that you do. In Jesus name. Amen. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Thank you, Ms. Johnson. Next on our agenda is the approval

of the agenda. May I get a motion for the approval of the agenda? So moved. May I get a second? Second. Thank you. We have a motion and a second. All in favor, aye. Aye. All opposed, same. Eyes have it. Next for approval of the minutes for March 9th, 2026. >> [clears throat] >> Has everybody had a chance to look over the minutes? Any questions? I'll make a motion that we approve the minutes. All right. May I have a second? I'll second it. Thank you, Ms. Carver. All in favor, aye. Aye. All opposed, same. Eyes have it. Next, I will be reading from the DCS board norms and protocols. Governments governance rules and responsibilities, [clears throat] number two. The board acts only as a body. Individual board members do not have authority. Board members will

not take unilateral actions. The board chairperson will communicate the position or positions as needed. The board and superintendent will support the decisions made. And then from our board code of ethics under governance structure, number one, recognize that the authority of the board rests only with the board as a whole and not the individual board members and act accordingly. All right. Number seven, public comments, Ms. Ford. Do we have any? There is no public comments. Moving on to number eight, superintendent comments and announcements. Yes, I would like to welcome everyone to the board meeting tonight. It's great to see a lot of our Susie Dasher family in the audience tonight. Um I just wanted to let everyone know we did balance the budget this week and actually done in the last week and we were super

excited about that so that we can go ahead and move forward with um contracts and and all of the things getting ready and prepared for next year. So we're excited about that. Um I also have been told that our Cognia report is coming very soon. Um [clears throat] that up and that we should see that in the next couple of weeks. This week we also have set up a CFO interview and so we're excited about that. Um hopefully we'll find the right person for that position. Today we signed off on CPI. That is three days earlier than our sign off date and we were super excited about that and Ms. Joyce getting that completed for us three days earlier. >> [clears throat] >> Um I just want to remind the board that on March 30th

we will have a training. Um it will be a called meeting but it will be just for training and that will cover CCRPI, federal programs, IDEA, and QBE funding. And that'll be from 5:00 to 8:00 on that day. And tonight we have a special guest with us from Susie Dasher. We have Ms. Charmaine McCray. If you'll come forward. She's one of our Susie Dasher students and we wanted to recognize her tonight because she was able to attend the state K5 science fair and tell us what you did when you got there. When I got there, I had to do my project. I had to speak and I had to explain my project. Exactly. And what kind of award did you win when you got there? I got second place there. I was the only representative

for my school, Susie Dasher Elementary. Awesome. And we're so super [laughter] proud of you. >> [applause] >> Are there board members that would like to congratulate Charmaine? Yes, of course. Congratulations. Congratulations, Ms. Charmaine. We're extremely proud of you. >> Yeah, good job. Good job. Awesome. Yeah. Susie Dasher, that's where my kids went. All right, Mr. Holcomb, would you finish us up with the superintendent comments? Good evening, everybody. Good evening. And our big Charmaine, so I just want to go through it quickly. Um that was our public comments. All of y'all on the board already aware of those who aren't, uh want to wish a speedy recovery to our board member, Mr. James Lanier. Had to undergo quadruple bypass and it was one of those God moments where had he not done what he went, he

wouldn't be with us still. I'm very glad to know that he's doing better [clears throat] and improving. In fact, he texted me three times today wanting to make sure he had Mr. James. He wanted the live stream uh link, so he has it and he's watching. Uh so, he gets to see a picture of himself on [clears throat] on the internet as well. Want to congratulate our cheer squad from Dublin High School that were selected. Excuse me. Really excited. A lot of these young ladies, if you look at the names, you'll recognize them right off there. Amazing young people. They're not just good cheerleaders, they're good people. And I get excited cuz they're going to represent us well. If you want to see the full list and not have to look around me, if you

go to our Facebook page, you'll be able to see it there. Uh there's several people that you should know if you're here at this meeting tonight. Our baseball team continues to roll. Had a sweep of region rival Northeast. First game came down to the wire. Bennett Lake got us through. Then the next game, we just handled business. And uh want to thank our school PR intern, Alante Wood. All these images that y'all see here are ones that he took >> [clears throat] >> for me. Uh I told him it was the best action pictures he's taken this year. I'm proud of him cuz we keep trying to grow him up cuz while I have twins that are 1 year old, which means I need to work a while, eventually somebody's going to have to supplant

me. So, I'm trying to I'm trying to grow grow some grow some people for down the road. Uh but the Irish have some tough tests ahead this week. End of the week's going to be a super big test with Ace Charter. Uh they're one of the top in the region and they're also, I would say, tops in the state. So, hopefully we can get some wins this week and keep on trucking. Uh our Dublin High School duo that competed in FLEX competition, for those who aren't aware, the Chamber Foundation here uh partnered with Georgia FLEX and it's an entrepreneur program. Our students right here, Chance Dribbling [snorts] and Armani Williams, were uh one of three sets of finalists and they finished third overall. What I really love most of all is the representative from the

University of Georgia that was one of the judges on the panel made a beeline to them right afterward and said, "I know y'all finished third, but I'm telling y'all y'all have a business model that will work if you make some fine tunes." He said, "I am really impressed with what y'all are doing." He said, "This this thing has wheels." He said, "I really hope that you keep pressing forward cuz I see something really good come out of this." And if you don't know these young men yet, I'd get to know them cuz I think they're going to be uh pretty well off in a few years when this when this takes off. And they're just fantastic young people. I I was very fortunate enough to get to make a commercial with them and I'm about

to hit the button, so I don't know what the volume level is on this. I don't want y'all to die cuz it screams at the beginning. All right. Why won't my band work? Bro, I'm not even touching this thing. Stick your money in game. You may have any the drift zone. Good luck. We repair stick drift fast. We repair stuck and broken buttons or customize your controller in your way. So, come visit the drift zone. Y'all want to race? >> [music] [laughter] [applause] >> That that [laughter] was their idea. They storyboarded and everything and I added the old man element of the Twilight Zone cuz most kids these days don't even know what you're talking about. the world Um our ROTC uh team Go ahead. The FLEX thing, I was told by it, so I

I said, "Well, tell me what they're working on." And when they told me about the wars, uh repairing these things, I'm going like, Are you serious? Oh, yeah. It's it's amazing. Are you serious? >> to Atlanta on the weekends and they have client They have a client list that they go and they'll go to different spaces and the guy was sitting there going, "This could be kind of like GameStop." This >> [laughter] >> If they won third, who won first and second? Right. [laughter] Um Oh, anyway. Well, and they personalize them also, right? >> Yeah, so they have they have the ability to personalize the controllers and they have a long-term plan. This What makes it so cool is it's scalable. You could have two guys doing it or you could franchise it. So, that's

my my hope for him long-term is that they can get it to a space where they can franchise it because then that's where the that's that's where it just changes the world. And just I'm sorry, but for the for the ones that it's called drift? drift guard But that's when your your controller gets stuck. >> Yeah, so they call it drift. Yeah, you you can play the more game you can call it. I had to get I had to get the definition. I wasn't a big gamer or like probably back in the day, but I had to I was like, "What? What do they call it? Like, what is drifting? Is it when you're behind the car?" Yeah, it's it's when your controller starts drifting. It's not doing what it's supposed to do. I had

a math Yeah, we're coming up here with the little Nintendo controllers, so they Those things never broke. But nowadays, they're so fancy. I just wanted to explain what that term meant cuz I, you know, over here. Our ROTC uh was invited to participate in the Armed Forces program that was held at the Dublin B&A. Uh very proud to have a pair of our cadets who were able to represent along with our sergeant. Uh he's a fantastic guy. Sergeant was out at the tennis courts just wanting to help support the tennis team for senior night. And uh that kind of stuff means a lot to me cuz over the years, a lot of our ROTC commanders, they they've been out of town most usually from Warner Robins. So, for them to commute back and forth and

make that extra effort means a lot to me. But our ROTC regularly gets asked to participate and host a program, but I love it cuz it all of our cadets are fantastic. They always put a good foot forward. Uh I talked about senior night, that's cuz it's right here. That's four of our five seniors. So, for those who aren't aware, a lot of our kids don't just participate in a single sport in certain seasons. Uh Ricardo Alvarado, who's not pictured here, he's also playing soccer. So, we have a lot of kids and uh J'Sean Carswell right here, he also plays soccer. So, you'll have kids that will literally play their tennis matches and if there's a home soccer match, then they motor right on over and play soccer, too. Uh which just shows their commitment

to the green and gold. I'm grateful for it. Uh but these four seniors, most of them have been there all four years. Um and Coach Miranda does a wonderful job with them. He's a great guy. He's also a Dublin High alum. And I'm grateful for all the time that he pours into them. We had IGA house day the other day. For those who don't know, IGA follows the Ron Clark Academy model where they have a house system, kind of like Harry Potter, but with the lines and the houses. Uh there's no no Slytherins involved. But they have a bunch of fun activities and it changes up. Sometimes the house days are very structured and this one was was really focused on fellowship and games. Uh and the kids had a lot of fun there. Uh

They'll be having some other stuff. They're actually welcoming some uh exchange students from Osaka on Thursday. So, you'll be seeing them for [clears throat] that. This week's next meeting is the next slide. There's our quite a few of the people here cuz Suzy Dasher never fails to bring a crowd. Y'all always bring a good contingent. They had a trail ride dance and uh the kids had a good time getting their photo booth pictures taken and more fun dancing. Uh like I said, they're uh if you've never been to a Suzy Dasher party, you're missing out. There's a lot of fun to be had. Um This one really touched my heart. Our students at Dublin High School uh with special needs were given the opportunity to learn soft skills in banking and personal finance with Robins

Financial. Robins Financial has been a a very strong supporter [clears throat] of Dublin City Schools for as long as they've had a branch here. Uh they've made not just financial commitments, but they regularly come and speak to our students with our CCA program and as you can see with other classes. And uh I love that these kids were given the chance to be able to learn a little bit more deeply about how to manage their money because uh Mr. Wheeler would tell you these these kids are going to be out in the world, too, and they need to make sure that they have all the supports in place to be successful young men and women. Uh so, I'm very glad for that. Uh from the alumni standpoint, this this young man is close to my

heart. Zion Davis was a standout for us on the basketball court, but if you get to know him, he's a better person than he is a basketball player. And he decided to take time out of his day while at Savannah State to go door-to-door on campus and collect 100 pairs of shoes for children in need. Uh that that makes me happy and proud cuz like I said, he's a good person and he didn't have to do it and he he didn't do it for glory. They just found out about it and so, they decided to celebrate it. Uh and there's more like Zion out in the world and more of those here at Dublin. So, it makes me happy to see him paying it forward when he could just be worrying about basketball and his

school. And then lastly, just a handful of some things for you guys to look out for. Uh live stream sports this week. If you get the chance to come to any of the events, even if just to pop in, please do so. Uh our young people, you don't know how much they appreciate you making the effort to come. Uh but I've had people show up that may not be regular attendees. I'll have kids come to me and go, "I'm so glad so-and-so came. You made my day." So, if you get the chance, please come out and uh miss Fluker for me. Thank you. I think that's all we got. Thank you. All right, next we're moving to general administration. Um item A, school spotlight. I want to welcome Mr. Grace Lewis here from Susie Dasher

Elementary, our acting principal. We're going to have him go over Susie Dasher. Good evening, everybody. Good evening. Um before I was the school something acting principal of Susie Dasher Elementary, this is my 14th year at Susie Dasher. I was a teacher for nine, uh been in administration for five. The previous four I was assistant principal and this year um I was in the acting principal role. So, before I go talk about Susie Dasher, I can't talk about Susie Dasher without speaking about this woman here, uh Miss Laquisha Fluker. Uh she was our Well, she's still principal and everything and she's been in that role since 2015. Of course, you probably know that she had a medical emergency last uh June. She still uh needs everyone's prayers and everything, but like I said, we can't talk

about Susie Dasher without her. All right, so before I go on to the next part, she pretty much coined this term of Susie Dasher, who are we? So, a lot of people know it as SD Angel Academy. >> [laughter] >> But, I'll go forth with some other information about Susie Dasher. So, before we start our mission statement, I pretty much this is something I say um every morning. Well, if I can't say it, Miss Marquita Rogers, who's our assistant principal, um she will lead this with the morning announcements. But, our mission statement is to educate through the process of STEAM in order to prepare students to be effective communicators, problem solvers, and lifelong learners through teaching and modeling positive behavior. And this part, the teaching modeling positive behavior, is included simply because we are a

PBIS school. All right, so positive behavior intervention support. So, that's why that part has been tagged on. The vision for where we want to be is to become a world-class school that produces globally competitive students through scientific inquiry, arts integration. And since we're a STEAM school, we try to focus some of our instruction around STEAM. And we do have a STEAM lab, and the teacher is Miss Terry Dykes, and she does a lot of our STEAM in her class. As you see here, uh these are two projects they were working on earlier in the year. One of our third grade students here, they had to take the um items that she gave them and build a bridge to basically try to get this lady across the bridge based off the um the items that she

gave them. Cuz in STEAM, it basically starts off with a problem and you have to use the resources that you have to solve the problem that you have. Right here, this is something they normally do every year around Thanksgiving time. They try to catch a turkey, but they have to make a fishing um fishing pole to catch the turkey. So, that's a Thanksgiving activity. But, they only have to use the resources that she gives them. All right, and that kind of just makes them um start using those creative juices. Cuz sometimes when you start trying to solve problems, you're not going to have everything that you need. So, you got to try to find ways to maneuver. You still got to achieve the goal, but you got to find creative ways to get done. All

right, so and moving forward some more information about SDE, as of yesterday, uh we had 407 students. And this pretty much is our breakdown of our um demographics. And this is basically coming from our student information system with this Infinite Campus. All right, so that's pretty much our population. Uh one of the things that Susie Dasher is known for is our pride traits. Um and this is pretty much falls under our PBIS system. Uh each letter stand represents something. With the P, it stands for personal responsibility. These are things we try to drill into the students, and adults can abide by this, too. Uh so, personal responsibility, everybody has enough on their plate. Whatever is responsible for for you taking care of, you just basically mind your business and get it done. [laughter] All right,

the next part is respect. Golden rule, treat everyone the way that you want to be treated. Integrity, no matter what the situation, if you've done something wrong, it's always best to tell the truth. And then you can basically learn a lifelong lesson based on what you did wrong. But, don't come in and try to lie. Tell the truth because a lot of times in the school, when we start asking students questions, we already know the answer. We're just trying to get them to tell the truth. Discipline, uh basically control yourself. You can't control anyone else's thoughts and actions, but you can control yourself. And E is basically do everything with the spirit of excellence. All right, and this is like our overarching thing. Each year we have a school theme centered around that, and basically

our theme for this year was clear for takeoff of soaring with pride. And it was basically for this year we just want to um do a better job with our attendance, our academics, all of that. We just want to do a better job, so that's what we came up with the soaring. Um and Miss Fluker would give the soaring with pride. Last year we talked about it for this year's statement. As I know, um she had her situation prior to the year starting, but I wanted to make sure that the theme that we discussed last year was carried out for of this year. All right, so as I just mentioned um earlier, school attendance, um we have we're proud to report that the majority of our students they do come to school. 95.7% of our

students have not missed a tenth of the school day. And for those who are not aware, once you miss more than a tenth of the school year, you're pretty much identified as a um student is identified as a chronically absent student. So, right now 95 almost 96% of our students are in good standing with their attendance. So, all >> [applause] >> Pray that we can keep this up until the end of the school year. All right, and then going to some of our academics, um Beacon. For some of you who are not aware of Beacon, Beacon is a uh test that our second, third, and fourth graders get they take um three or four times a year. It's mainly a predictor of how they will score on the milestones. So, if you looked um anything

when you start teaching kids, you want to make sure that the child comes in the way they come in, you want them to leave them better than where they were when they came. All right, so we're basically just looking for growth. We do know we are a Title I school. Not all of our students are going to walk in and be proficient. You know, there are some schools where you could just basically the teacher doesn't have to do anything. You could just walk in and those students are going to be proficient. All right, we have students like that, but the majority of our students you got to put something in there to get them to that finish line. We know some students may not get to that proficient line, but our goal is to not

have them at the same line that they walked in in the office. So, either they was right here, even if they got right here, they grew. So, that's our goal. So, if you look here, this is where our second, third, and fourth graders were in the fall uh when they took this at the end of August, early September. And you pretty much see where the overall cut score was in the spring. So, all of our students in second where the the average score grew from second, third, and fourth grade. And that pretty much just shows that no matter the circumstances um that we got going on within the district and everything, that our teachers are still getting in and doing their jobs. All right, no matter the situations and everything, we're still trying to do

the best we can for our kids to make sure that we're preparing them for the next grade level. All right, in terms of math, um math, well, let me go back. Um This year the state adopted a new set of standards for reading. So, uh the Beacon normally gives us a projection um for the Georgia milestones, uh which the third and third through eighth grade third through 12th graders take at the end of the year. They didn't do that for this year simply because this is the first This is the first year that all student teachers in Georgia have taught these reading standards. So, but for math, this is our second year in with these standards. So, it does give us a predict a predictor of how our students will score on the milestones. So,

if you look this is uh last year's data. That's pretty much the state average of the students who scored at least proficient. 47% statewide were proficient last year, third and third and fourth graders. Last year ours was 51% of our third and fourth graders uh were proficient on the math milestones. Based off Beacon, we still project that we're a little bit lower than what we were at last year. But again, due to the circumstances we've been on, I think this is still a good number. And our students have normally done better on the Beacon on the milestones than they have on the Beacon. So, that's something um that we're really proud that almost half of our students are um proficient on that math milestone. So, based off our predictions shows us. All right. And then

what we try to we try to I like at the end of the year we have a big honor day ceremony. We tried to break it up this year cuz I had discussions with Miss uh Rogers, Miss Wright, um tried to break it up this year and reward our students every quarter for their academics and attendance. We have the next one is I think this Thursday. This Thursday at 4:30. Um so, we just try to award them for honor roll for that quarter and perfect attendance for that quarter. So, this is basically some pictures that we've taken from some uh of our previous flight to success awards. That's what we call them. Flight to success award ceremony. And the reason why we call them flight to success because our theme is soaring with pride. So,

we wanted to keep it with something with airplanes and soaring. So, this is pretty much our theme uh with our um flight to success award ceremony we had um earlier this year. If anybody wants to donate because we do have to reward the students. Uh every So, >> [laughter] >> we'll take any donation. Uh just get it to Susan Dasher by Thursday. >> [laughter] >> All right. And um moving to some staff and student morale, like I said, y'all, I just mentioned about the situation uh with Miss Blooper. But if we go back to um like the beginning of school last year, at the beginning of the '24-'25 school year, um we had a staff member who literally passed away days before school started. It was one of our paraprofessionals. She worked in our um

Spanish department. She also worked with transportation uh with Miss Larisa O'Neal. So, we pretty much started the year with um losing a staff member. And then we ended last school year, and then 2 weeks later, that's when uh Miss Blooper had her situation. And then even after Miss Blooper, we've had other staff members uh deal with other things. And right now, I got one staff member who was hospitalized. Um I had one who had an emergency, and she's still trying to gain um feeling on one side of her body. So, we had um several events uh medical events throughout this last calendar year. So, that was one thing I wanted to focus on this year um is the student staff morale on top of what we've had going on, and then the state of the

district and everything. So, I just wanted to try to make sure that school was a comfortable place for everybody involved. So, this is just basically some things or some pictures that we um have been involved with this year. And this is basically our um Middle Georgia basketball. The girls team, they came to our >> [cough] >> team with Oh, excuse me. They came with our um visit our 21st Century students early in the year. Um and this one um what we try to do for our students, this is like our um bus of the month program. So, um for the the the driver, every every morning they pull in, they give a thumbs up or thumbs down based off how the students uh behave on the bus. And the bus that has the most thumbs

up by the end of the year, we reward the students with something, and we also reward the driver. So, that was one of the um things that we do for the students and the driver. Um earlier this year, I found like some kind of calendar, and it has like basically um different type of things that you wouldn't even think that people celebrate. And one of them was it was was a world fra- uh frappe day. It was something like it. World frappe day. >> [laughter] >> So, this is pretty much early in the year. So, um we made fra- uh is it fra- frappe is what I'm saying. >> [laughter] >> Miss, you'll give me my grammar right. Uh caramel frappes for the staff and everything. We pretty much um it let everybody enjoy that

on that day. So, and we move forward. This bracket was my personal favorite. Uh um And this was a uh a turkey hunt. I started just basically sending random messages or random emails to the staff. I did not give them any details. Like the other one, I just said, "Check the Check the table that I've attached to the email." They didn't have a clue what it was. And it pretty much led to this bracket. And um me and Miss Rose, every evening we'll go around, we'll hide these um paper turkeys throughout the building. And uh and I'll release clues in the morning, and they pretty much have to go and find the turkeys. And it pretty much led to uh our winner with these with these ladies here um going home taking a turkey home

before we got for the Thanksgiving break. I had them Jason, I showed you the video. I don't know if I I Let me see if it'll play. I screen recorded it. So, let's see if it'll play. >> [laughter] >> So, yeah, that was like, "You got to do please see the attached the attached document. Thanks." And it was random stuff. >> [music] [laughter] [music] [laughter] >> All right. That was my my personal favorite um turkey hunt video. And thank you to Jason for putting that together for me because we pretty much had to take uh footage that people recorded and also the school's And these are some other things that we had going with one of our um students who participated in the spelling bee. Um I was able to find a cheap deal on

Pizza Hut, and I was >> [laughter] >> Uh and this is we just recently had a um book character parade for Dr. Seuss uh um week. And this is one of the photos that's coming from that. And our high school band pretty much came in and pretty much uplifted it for us. So, they did a wonderful job. This is something that I normally do around Christmas um is to serve the staff like a warm caramel um apple cider. So, I was going around sharing that with them around Christmas time. And these are some other things that we had going on with our loving basketball back in February with Miss Whitney Coaching. And our girls uh cheering [clears throat] team, we have I have two former captains of cheering teams on staff this year. So, I

put them together, and they basically get them uh get us a cheering squad going on the team. That's them. And we also have our student council, our leader- our student leadership group. So, uh those are some things that I think that may have one more. So, that was some things that we tried to do just even though our circumstances are a lot different than what we are used to for this last year, but we tried to make sure that we >> [cough] >> uh keep it as [clears throat] normal as possible to ensure that everyone has uh been able to enjoy the school year. Uh in terms of accomplishments for uh for the most recent, we were able to receive a Title 1 Reward School last year. That was basically um so, we're Title 1

school district uh district and school. All of our students are on the free reduced lunch, but it's uh no matter the um social number or the economic status that the students are coming from, they're still performing um at their expected rate. So, that's how we were able to uh get the Title 1 Reward School. And also the John the John Hancock Banner and Proficiency Ribbon recipient. Uh we were uh proficient, not distinguished, because we had 90% of our students were able to write their name in cursive. For to be the I think it's distinguished, they had to write their name in cursive and also the preamble in cursive. So, just writing your name in cursive is a uh positive. It's a positive. A lot of kids I I got a teenager, she don't know how

to write cursive. Trying to work on that. >> [laughter] >> And um we've already um recognized Miss uh Charmaine Craig. Again, she was second place in our um Georgia Science Fair in Milledgeville. And I think But oh, and also want to give a special thanks to um our local school governance team. I have several of them here today. Uh they've been able to provide resources to the um staff and also to the students. I know I just recently talked to them about coming short on paper, and I had one of our parents, she bought some paper, sent it to the school. So, that was a blessing uh to to receive. And we also had several of our other community partners like Great Clips who >> [clears throat] >> has uh supported our Christmas initiatives. Um

Piggly Wiggly Wrightsville, that's where we got the turkeys from. Um Popeyes Fried Chicken, they um supplied a meal full of chicken for a lunch for a retired one of our staff who was retired in December, and also for our third and fourth grade, they had a Thanksgiving feast. So, they provided chicken. And our sororities um have the AKAs and the Zetas have provided um different refreshments and everything throughout the year. So, we're thankful for the partnership we've had with both of them. But um that's pretty much all I have for Susan Dasher. Y'all have any questions, comments, or concerns? Well, I would just like to say thank you for your leadership and staff. Um and I do appreciate you mentioning Miss Blooper. And I was telling uh Miss Mars at the pool at the while

we were waiting on the uh parade to start for St. Patrick's Day that her leadership was really shown in her absence because y'all just picked the ball up, and y'all kept going. And she would [clears throat] be so very proud of everything that y'all are doing in the school because, you know, just talking to her about Susan Dasher, you know, she just lit up, you know, and although, you know, what's already happened [clears throat] to her, but I it makes me feel good that you all were able to keep this everything moving in the right direction. And I just want to thank all of y'all for that. Yes, thank you. Miss Larisa, she's done a wonderful job at Susan Dasher. We appreciate everything that you're doing there. And we hear great things. And thank you,

Susan Dasher. You're very much appreciated. >> [applause] >> All right. Next, we have band end-of-the-year trip approval. Yes, in your packet, you have um some information about the band trip. This is for Dublin Middle School. Um it's on May 8th and 9th. And they will be attending Southern Star Music Festival and it includes a day at Six Flags. The actual festival is going to take place at Six Flags, so they'll be there, but also get to enjoy the park >> [clears throat] >> as part of something fun for them to do. It is an overnight trip as you see on here. They will have a $250 per person fee and this would include their ticket, the admissions to Six Flags, [clears throat] a meal voucher for both days, a hotel stay, and a charter bus.

And they're planning to do fundraisers and set up a payment plan for any parents that want their child to attend. So we just need your approval on the trip. Does anyone have questions about the trip? I'll make a motion that we approve the end of band trip at a year two of Six Flags. I have a motion. Can I get a second? A second. Thank you, Mr. Johnson. All in favor of? Aye. All opposed same. Eyes have it. Thank you. Glad for them. Next we have C, the FY27 calendar. Okay, so we have put together a calendar for FY27. You have that in your packet. You will notice on here that there are days for students and 182 for teachers. So that you know, tells you that we will have eight reduction days added into

[clears throat] our calendar for next year. >> [snorts] >> Anyone have questions about anything that you saw on here? Any questions? Okay, if there's no questions, can I get a motion? For the approval of the FY27 calendar. I'll make a motion we approve the FY 26-27 school calendar. Can I get a second? A second. Mr. Harper. All in favor of? Aye. All opposed same. Eyes have it. Next item is financials. Letter A, February financials. I'll let Miss Betty pull that up. You guys review the February financials. You should have that in your packet. Um, I Jason was good to give me a tutorial on this today. >> [laughter] >> So we set it up, so hopefully we won't have a problem with the month of March. All right, on the first line we have our

revenues for the month of February and our year-to-date revenues. As you can see, we're doing collecting most of them. We have collected more than we have budgeted for on some items and have not finished out the year collected. We're only through 66.67% of the fiscal year complete and we ideally theoretically we would have a remaining 34%, but as you can see we've got 63% overall to collect. Okay, and on this I added a little different thing for y'all. I added the month of February of 2025 and the year-to-date for the fiscal year ending June 30th, to compare to the revenues on on this. No, this is that's for the month and that's this is for the year-to-date through February of 25. >> [snorts] >> I took and added columns as year-to-date expenses 25 versus 26,

I mean revenues and our overall and um property taxes we collected more in FY25 because we already gotten our a lot I mean they pay in December and January and we've just gotten beginning to get our money in. As of February [snorts] we've received only um $5 and in February of uh uh they had already received we've only received eight >> [snorts] >> uh five 5.4 million and they'd already received last year at that same time 12.3 million. That's your that's your 6.8 million that we're down. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it's just because we haven't getting the um the payments yet. [snorts] Um, other than that we're um QBE formulas we got we have received more in February this year than we did February of last year only because they gave us advance payment to make

our payroll. That's the reason we have a difference there of that we have received more than than the year before. They matched us QBE funds. Uh and other than that is um and that's the same thing with this QBE contra account. Anything with the state funding, there's 3100 numbers that has to do with advance funding for this year the differences. [snorts] Now, on our next slide is expenditures. Uh so far this year this month we have uh currently uh total expenditures of 3.3 for this month. This month uh and as of February of 2025 we had 2.9. So we are currently at more expenditures for our and much of that has got to do with uh the I missed that I can't see that sheet. I don't think we have that sheet. Um This should

have been in February 5th of the month. I'm printing them all off. We have so many sheets this time. March and I were having a hard time printing them. Updated in And we can It says revenue expenditures and it says expenditures by function at top. Okay, well we will send that to you in an email. It will update it now. [cough and clears throat] But if you notice the year-to-date balances, FY25 last year was 20 million. The year-to-date balances this year is 18 million less than so we are actually 2 million in the good of last year. Oh, sorry. I Jason told me not to touch the screen today. Women cannot afford can't stand it. Got to touch something. Don't make sure I heard you right. So we spent $2 million less this quarter right

now than we had last year. >> [clears throat] >> And you know we said that that's that's [laughter] an increase. That's real good increase. Okay, on our next slide this is our fund balance I mean our balance sheet. Uh It's basically a little bit sign difference. For this time our fund balance is in the positive. It says it shows negative here, but I'm going to ask him, Jason. I'm sorry. Um, fund balance if it is a negative that's good. Cuz it's always a credit balance. So we got a 1. right now in our in end of February we got 1.7 and that's because of we got an influx of the tax revenue. Then our next slide is our balance sheet. I mean our fund balance and it tells you that totally revenues for this for

this year-to-date this month as of February of and the expenditures for the end of month is 18. So that put us to a plus and now we had a negative start out the negative fund balance and we are to the positive 1.7. Now we came out with a positive balance. Yeah. This is QBE 1.7 is QBE. If you need that I did expenditures and see if they have any questions. They're getting matched to now. Oh, they are. Okay. >> [clears throat] >> All right, this is big as you can make it on that piece of paper. I tried it. Actually I cut off some of it. We had to go back and reprint it. So that might be where the mix up got into um that happened not put it in the folder. >> [clears

throat] [laughter] >> Any questions as of okay. All right, in your packet you also have an outstanding accounts payable for the month of February. It was just too long I couldn't fit it on the screen. Okay, so I'm going to talk about what we're going to pay for this uh picture that was paid in February. Our debts for March, excuse me. March payables. So y'all can review that. You got any questions, give me or we will call. We'd be glad to help you with that. If I need call, email me too. And this is our February uh next slide is our February federal grant draw downs. And these are what you received this month in March. But we would like to just let you know this is the amount that we're going to be receiving

and this includes the governor's one-time uh supplement. Uh 525,000,428 dollars for that 2,000 dollars he's given us for uh one-time supplement for our employees. But this will be coming in March. Those state expenditures. Various expenditures. Okay, next next one. Now this is going to be a little bit more complicated to explain. The Department of uh uh Financial Review with the Department of Education gave us a quick chicken dirty uh FY17 budget. Uh as you know, it's a draft, it's an estimate. And in it, we've got the federal revenues estimated based on FY26 and this is brand new coming in now. Our budget for this year, our grant awards for federal programs. And uh so they're estimated to be around 3.5 million [clears throat] dollars. Now the only reason that might possibly change is due to

March. If they come in and say, you know, you got to pay this much money back or you didn't have this awarded, you know, they can always take money away. Mhm. And sometimes they give you more, okay? But not often. More is better. All right, state local revenue. We have estimated We have got the preliminary FY27 QBE lock sheet. But it's subject to change, but we're This is based on it being correct. Uh be the one that they'll adopt. We also have um our property taxes and estimate and you know they're always to be uh we appeals. So it's subject to change. But I'm >> the same number as this year, right? >> Yes. Okay. Yes. And you know, the tax ad ad ad ad valorem tax is is it's an easy. It's how many

cars you buy. You know, what the economy is based on the economy basically. People go out and buy new cars or not, we pay they pay taxes on it. Uh and then other state categorical grants and pre-K lottery is stable and so is nutrition. Nutrition is uh it's a stand-alone and it funds itself. Okay. Now these are the expenditures. >> [clears throat] >> So far using the using the adjusted pay scale that we've come up with, our our salaries going to be 26 and this is with benefits and TRS. All that good uh payroll expenditure you got to put in there is 26.5 million. That's based on TRS that up a little bit, but actually the governor uh reduced the state health that we're paying in for a person. Just the minute but it's it's

it's less anyway. All right, and then we we pay we've got to pay next year 3.3 million dollars and that's state health benefits that we have not we've required. And operating expenditure. What happened to operating expenditure? Uh this we converted it and it messed up, but 62 6.2 million dollars is on current expenditures increased by 10%. We're sorry about that. We didn't catch that when we were putting this up here. Federal programs and spending um The 1.4 This is federal programs and pre-K expenditures. The one Let me get this added up this column for my here. All right, let me Yeah, let me look at that so I can get those numbers right over here. Uh 6.7 is for operating expenditures. 1.4 million is for federal programs and the um that's excluding the salaries and

benefits. They're included in the 26.5 million. Nutrition expenses is still around average of 1.5 million. And we take we're going to take based on uh reduction in days, this is how much we don't get to reduce our expenditures if we take eight days [clears throat] in reduction. It's 608, approximately 608,000 dollars, which is going to give us a little bit of a positive surplus. [snorts] 3 332,000. That's small, but it hey, it's better than what we've had. All right, and then our next slide Now Miss Betty, this is a tentative budget. It Now we know we So this is this only this is just a uh what you call just a a snapshot. Because when we get to the tentative budget, we have to have it broke down to the general fund, special revenue funds,

capital projects, and debt service. Right. And that's going to take more time [clears throat] to dwell and pull all these numbers out. This is just lumping everything together and saying this is this is what we are estimating it to be. That's what the Department of um Education's Financial Review did. And they did an awesome job. They have worked really hard >> [clears throat] >> on getting us this and on getting uh our salary scales done. Right. I just wanted everybody to know it's just tentative. There's still a lot of work to be done in getting the weeds of it. So just wanted y'all to know this wasn't 100% set. No, it is uh it's based on some assumptions. Um Wait wait wait wait Miss Betty, this right here you got uh it has 26 27

Okay. >> top of both columns. Which one's All right, okay. I'm guessing one of them's 25 26. Yeah, that This is This is where we got that 608,000 dollars from. We took the uh budget for salaries. We put them in there with no red days. I got you. And this is column The first column is those with red days. I got you. So if you'll look on the second page, flip it over. This is where that 608,000 4063 dollars is This is the column on the left that has your red days in it and no red days. The first column has red days and the second column is your without any red days. Okay. All right, you've got one more slide. And this is the governor's one-time payment. Um supplement payment. What I did This

is what is what I did is I took all our general fund, all our um what's paid in general fund. These are our positions. How many we've got of of the nurses, paraprofessionals, principals got five of them. Certified staff and unclassified staff. How much DOE staffing they got 172, 35 teachers and they uh um funded one uh state pre-K, which is still the district teacher of 2,000 dollars. Nurses, they funded two We got two and they funded 2.7. So hey, we came out 366 dollars and one cent. So good. They uh like bus drivers, they funded 13 I mean 21, we have 13. So [clears throat] that was to be good because it's based on QBE a lot sheet. What we do we have it's all based on QBE formula. So if we come in

the good, that's good. Uh these are the positions they funded and there are positions they did not fund. Clerks, secretary, accountants, and uh support personnel. So we came out that these the uh WCSD schools funded 425,469 dollars and 99 cents. >> [clears throat] >> Um the good. And all these positions, some of them we did not receive any social security for. They funded it by paying 1.045% of it for Medicare, but they didn't fund the social security portion, which is 6.2% of your salary. So we're in uh we've got those positions uh it's going to cost us 21,768 76 dollars and 63 cents, which total out of general fund general This is general fund that we're going to pay if we pay everybody the 2,000 dollars across the board. It's going to be 47,246 dollars

and 62 cents for the general fund population. All right, our next and this is both data is estimated on everyone being full-time. Amount could drop for any part-time workers that 49% personnel. Also the data does not include substitutes. No substitute of any kind will receive any kind of pay. Those working in the ESS will not receive any kind of pay. All right, next slide. I've got These are uh wraps and starts pre-K. This is how much they sent. And then we're going to have to pay the 868 dollars, which they did not send with social security on that amount of money. And they paid for seven teachers and seven head pros, that's what we have. So we're going to be out of pocket 868 dollars pre-K. Miss Betty, can you go back to the and

you're saying that that is not including our ESS workers. That's right. ESS are contract workers. They do not give you any kind of funding to contract workers. We pay ESS. They are paid on the payroll. They're not our workers. They work for somebody else's business. Contract with them. Okay, I'm going Next slide, our end of the slide that was And then we have going to have certified positions this payroll program and they're going to cover their own payroll entirely. Those people that are employed we have 24 people employed with federal programs. That's estimated on 300 personnel. That's So it's not going to be and we need you to approve this approve it so that we can pay our workers not just the ones that they positions they gave us money for. How much money is

worth putting in addition if we pay the ESS people? Uh how many are on ESS? Let's see if this if it's 10 people it's going to cost us $2,153 each. But now that's that's together out of our pocket. So they will go to they will go and pass on the ESS to them to pay them. We will not be paying them. So what you're asking us to approve without ESS looks like running $48,000 out of pocket. Mhm. That's $868 and the $47,200. >> add all of the ESS correct but that I mean you know that's it. Right. Yeah. It might vary because I said 49% is a part-time or we could have missed somebody but let me tell you we've counted we've I think we re-counted. It took a while but we re-counted and and

tried our best to get as accurate as possible. So at the most it's going to be costing us less than $2,000. >> That's great. Out of our pocket. There are 10 ESS workers. 10 ESS workers. We want to add to that amount to it. Uh $21,153. All right, so we're looking at just estimating around $10,000. So that's up to y'all to decide that at 2:47. We need to decide that tonight or we can Yes, because we would like to do this at March pay. We want to do this March payroll but we if things don't happen in a timely manner it would be April payroll. So the governor will be sending us this money um on March 26th. Yes, governor will send it down March 26th. If we were to do the extra 21 for

the ESS you feel good about us doing that? Well, if that's what y'all decide to do that should be your decision. So if that's going to put you about $70,000 in the hole a little more. So that's that's the time that you If you want to do that then we can you know get with ESS and then facilitate that payment. When is this Um I know you want to do it for April payroll. When is the due date for April payroll? The 30th. April 30th. Okay, so can we revisit with ESS? >> We're talking about doing this I we would want to pay this out in March payroll. Okay, sorry. Which is the end of the month which is which is in a couple of days. That's Tuesday. Can we approve Uh I suggest we

talk about this about in executive session and we table this. All right, so we'll table that tonight in executive session and we'll let you know what you decide on. Yes. Do you need to wrap it up? Uh 2:32 executive session table it. Do you need to debate? Yeah. To table it. I don't know. We got all these others to borrow from. Okay. It's on the agenda so we need to Yeah. A table side to the time We're going to table this to the to get some more information on it until after executive session. So can I get a motion to table the decision about the $2,000 one-time supplement of the governor's office? Yes, I would make a motion to table this to we have some more discussion on this and Okay, thank [clears throat] you.

Can I get a second? I second it on that motion. Thank you, Mr. Barber. All in favor aye. Aye. All opposed say nays have it. We need to go back to vote in the school. I'm sorry. Wait, do you got a copy of our justice salary scales that we need to suggest or that um financial needs has helped us with them. So these all these all these estimates was all based on uh the justice salary scale scale for all all departments and all personnel. >> [clears throat] >> So nobody is is going to be drastically The all the longevity supplement will go away. >> [laughter] >> But it's it's somewhat added into the new salary scale. All right, so the estimate will be as I said earlier. Yeah, so what we call the longevity supplement

will be we will not have longevity supplement. We will be paid we will be paid on your base plus your longevity. So any supplement you get in your position. Uh I got a question about Did the I can't hear you. Did the did the committee that we appointed last meeting go through this and No, they did not. Well, who was supposed to make the decisions about it? I don't know. I I thought I was Well, with the committee our our finance team from the state asked us to wait until we had some training before we did anything with the committee. Okay, I thought that was approved by the committee so then you changed the changed system. And y'all also have Did you get me the state FY26 salary scales? All right, I can email you

the FY26 salary [clears throat] scales. So Miss Fuller, you it sounds like we're going from one scale to another modifying our system. Do you feel confident that going to this new scale most of our employees will be about the same? So the new scale is just a little bit different um when we looked at the state salary scale the state salary scale is a lot lower than the current scale we have and so we went kind of a midway point um and this is a a scale that's very comparable to some neighboring districts so or within our area. And I also say that all these scales we tried to streamline it so that we can utilize our computer software to do a lot of the computations and that had to be done by hand. Okay.

And so it's based on teacher salary scales. You know, and we might be combined some um departments and they're all kind of on the same scale. It's not it's it's trying to streamline it. The other one was convoluted. I mean it took you know me sitting down saying well how did you come up with this salary scale? I'm trying to figure it out. And uh this way it's more uniform. It's fair to everybody. We've got a supplement scale in there that is fair to everybody. Um you still have uh you know athletic supplements, our leadership supplements, our school level supplements and you know um And with this With this um salary scale our lucky loser has been pushed back into it so it's not pulled out separately. >> No. So each month our teachers will

receive that money rather than it being pulled out and set aside for February. So lucky loser has been done away with. Yes, there's no more lucky loser. Pushed back into the monthly paycheck. So you need Do you need this this scale approved so you can get contracts out? Yeah, yeah. Right, that's what I was saying. The difference in IGA and the elementary school. It's the same. Um it's the same on that side. I see. Possible elementary That's $7,500. Right, that's what I was giving the accountant to say. and that's what it has to be. It didn't change. But see before that the the supplement reviewing the old supplements, that was a range. Now that's that's what it has been for I'm I'm just saying. It was a range. It was a range of 7,500 people

that size. So that range that the principal could have gotten a higher supplement. But my question is how can we justify giving the principal of Irish Gifted Academy a higher supplement than a principal of the elementary school. Irish Gifted Academy is a program. And we have elementary principal. That's a school. You know, so I have a problem with that. Um it also states, Miss Johnson, the alternative school, too. Huh? What? No, I'm not looking at the alternative school. I'm looking at cuz that's a school. And as far as the Now I just wanted to I just wanted to state it's alternative and alternative academy. I see it's alternative school. But what I'm saying is there's a difference between uh principal of a school and the principal of a program. You know what I mean? That's

the way I see it. Um and I just don't think that it's fair to the principal to to be receiving less at a school than the Irish Gifted program. Now I know the principal at the alternative school that almost fluctuate. But then we talking about kids that may need special whatever they need, you know, based on what's going on with them. And so that's a totally different ballgame as far as I'm concerned. But the bottom line is it's a school. Moore Street is a school. The high school is a school. The middle school is a school. Elementary. And I just can't agree to that because I just think it's unfair to the principal of the school. You have more students. You have more staff. You have more that they're responsible for. And I just don't

I just can't accept that. Would you like to y'all table that discussion on separate executive session? >> Yes. There's a couple more questions we all have. At this time can I get a motion to table the state salary schedules and supplements until after executive session? That's right. Exactly. So moved. Second. All in favor, I. I. All opposed, same. Eyes have it. All right, we need to go back and vote for the February financials. >> [clears throat] >> I'll make a motion we approve the February financials. Can I get a second? Second. Thank you. We have a motion and a second to approve the February February financials. All in favor, I. I. All opposed, same. Eyes have it. I want to try to clarify something about about what what we all going to be talking about

in executive session. Uh we're going to be talking about people. We're going to be talking about position, not necessarily a person. Okay? I'm going to be clear on that before we go in there to make sure we clear exactly what we're going to be talking about as pertains to this these supplements. Okay. >> [laughter] >> I guess that's a question. That's a question to me or to Miss Smith? Either. So we're going to be looking at any questions you'll have on the supplements and the salary scale. Okay. Just to make sure I'm clear. Yeah. That's That's that person there. Okay, I think that we completely need to talk about the FY27 contracts. Sure. All right, I need a motion to table the FY27 contracts until after executive session. I'd like to make a motion that

we postpone the ex FY26 27 until after executive session. Contracts. Contracts. Can I get a second? Second it. Okay. All in favor? I. I. All opposed, same. Nay. Nay. Miss Johnson, do you want to table? Table the contracts? >> Yes, ma'am. And the salary scale and supplement scale. We already voted on that one, yes, ma'am. Just the contracts. Yes. Okay. All right. So I am going to vote [clears throat] to table it until after. So I I have it. All right. Next is board member comments. Mr. Walters. I would like to say I would >> [clears throat] >> Good evening everyone. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that we did have a balanced budget that had balanced stuff on the budget. Uh after after the experience I had at the last meeting all

the questions that was asked and all the the doubt that was in in my eye, I was really wondering was were we ever going to get the budget balanced. But I'm glad we got it balanced. We got to clear up this this thing to make sure that we all getting back to being educated and not getting oversighted about these extra programs that we have. We got to get back to the basics. So I didn't work out with that company to where we can uh uh to be where we at now. It's nothing that we have now that we can't get again. But we got to get get on solid ground. So I'm looking forward to working this balanced budget to make sure we get back to where we at now as far as our what

we got on our students, our teachers, and our staff. Thank you, ma'am chair. Thank you, Mr. Walters. Miss Glover. Um good evening everyone. And I want to say thank you all for coming out tonight. Once again showing your support and getting the information that um is so much needed to be given out for those that people are speaking in the streets say we're not being transparent enough. But um just want to say thank y'all for coming out to if you see the information. So tell tell your neighbor, tell somebody else, and let somebody else tell somebody that you know, just come on to the meetings and if you have any questions, email email our superintendent. Email questions. She answer your questions. Attach CC copies. Make sure that, you know, you can get a response back.

Uh congratulation, young lady. I as they were announcing your name, I just saw the smile and the glow on your face and and your supporter. Congratulation. And and that's that's a good thing to be able to tell what you did, you know, in your own words, not in somebody telling you what to say, but you did it in your own words. And congratulation to the other um Dublin City School um students that have achieved goals and awards. Um parents, thank y'all for coming out and showing support. And that's what we need, that support, you know. We have to just as our principal said at Susie Dasher, we have to continue to keep pushing our kids, you know, and let them know that there are no limitation. The only limitation is if you don't move. That's

the only limitation cuz you don't stop right there. So just keep keep encouraging the kids, you know, to continue to grow. Grow. That's what it's all about. And thank y'all. Miss Keisha will be very proud of you all. Susie Dasher, she will be very proud of you all. Thank y'all and that's all I have to say. Thank you, Miss Glover. Mr. Bale. I just like to say thank goodness James Lanier got to the hospital. And hopefully James Lanier will be here at the next meeting cuz he was he he >> [laughter] >> he was having a rough time there and uh uh we we don't need to lose James. So thank goodness they corrected heart problem. That's all. Mr. Davis. Uh congratulations, Mr. Frey. We're all really proud of you. Uh Mr. Lewis, Mr. Roger,

everything y'all doing at Susie Dasher, you can tell it's a it's a happily infectious climate over there. We appreciate it. Uh to the gentleman who did so well with flags, congratulations. That's that has real major implications. I mean, that can be a a major business. Uh so please continue with that. Our continued prayers to Miss Fluker. Um especially um uh prayers to Mr. James Lanier. We miss you, buddy. We love you. I need you to hurry up and get back. Um I want to specially thank uh Miss Betty Marshall Poole, um Georgia Department of Education. Um There's been a lot of work going into these supplements, salary schedules, um the budget. It's all in there. Uh we need to pass this so our teachers can be given contracts. They've had enough uncertainty. Um it's time

to get these teachers contracts and do right by them. So I hope we can go into executive session and knock this out and quit playing games um with this. It's time to do right by these teachers. Um so yeah, other than that, I think that's uh that's it. Thank everybody for coming out. Mr. Johnson. I would just like to say good evening and um I'm just proud of the presentation that you all provided to Mr. Lewis and congratulations again on your accomplishment. I know you're at a great school. I have one son that attends and you know, I am proud that he is there. I think the world of Susie Dasher. Uh and he thinks the world of you all. And I just want to also uh just say that we all working hard to

make sure that things are done right. We want to make sure that uh y'all do get your contracts. But if we approve something that y'all don't like or have a question about, then the time to ask is not after we vote on it. The time to ask about it, the time to bring it up is now. And yes, we need to pass it. And we we will uh make sure that you are able to get contracts out. But you know, some of this stuff um hopefully I mean it could have been done maybe a little earlier and that way our back was to the up against the wall. But the bottom line is we are where we are and we're trying to make the best of the situation as it is. I am proud that

we do have a balanced budget uh because we made a lot of cuts and um I was hoping that at some point all these cuts that we were making hopefully we'll be in the positive. And so uh even though this small amount, I am proud that we do have a positive fund balance too. Uh if everything goes as uh Ms. Betty said. So I am proud about the students this year. I'm proud about the staff, the students and I think everybody has worked hard even uh during the situation of uh our our financial uh hardship. Uh which was no fault of you all, but I'm proud to know that you, Mr. Lewis, focused on the morale [clears throat] at your school to ensure that the the attitude, the the the morale was always up and

so I appreciate that. And again, college uh Armalee, you know, sometimes you can do a lot of things that don't cost a whole lot of money. And so I am thankful for that. Thank you. Mr. Lewis, I got to meet you during Leadership Laurens. Um and I'm so proud of of how well you've done stepping in that role. I know it's been a challenge and your whole team. I mean Susie Dasher is a remarkable place. I got to come in to one of the readings there um and the kids are fantastic, the teachers are fantastic and I just thank you so much. We do still have a lot of work to do. We're trying to do the best for everyone. Um we're going to go into executive session and discuss some things and prayerfully get

these salary schedules and supplements approved. Um we are still got a lot of work to do on the budget and we have some workshops coming up for that, some training days um to understand more about um federal programs and CCRPI and how it all affects everything and you know, we want to know more. We were um held back for a little while and and now we're jumping in and going forward. So um we're excited about those training days. They may be long, but they're going to be good for us and um we're just thankful that y'all are here and y'all continue to show up and and be there for us. And we want to be there for you. So thank you. Um at this point in time, I need a motion to go to executive

session. >> [clears throat] >> So moved. May I have a second? >> [laughter] >> Second. Thank you, Mr. Clark. All in favor? Aye. Aye. All opposed same, uh Sabbath. 7:19.
