I have three recognitions to share this evening. Uh first beginning with Vivian Adams Early Childhood Center and the Dr. Katie Harper Wright preschool program. Both of them have once again earned the gold circle of quality which

is the highest distinction awarded by Accelerate Illinois which is the state's quality recognition and improvement system for early learning and development. This recognition is not new to our schools. Both Vivian Adams and Dr. Dr. Katie Harper Wright have maintained the gold circle of quality designation across multiple years, demonstrating an enduring commitment to excellence in early learning. Achieving this honor requires meeting rigorous statewide standards and successfully completing a comprehensive review and monitoring progress. Being recognized at this level reflects the highest quality of teaching, supportive learning environments, strong family and community partnerships, and the expertise and leadership of our early childhood educators. So, we proudly celebrate the outstanding staff and leaders of Vivian Adams and Dr. Katie Harper Wright who continue to set the standard for early childhood education in our region. And I will give a

quick plug that we still have some enrollment slots available at that high quality preschool center. So if you know of some >> All right. >> Um we also want to proudly recognize the outstanding achievements of 33 students at East St. Louis Senior High School who were recently inducted into the National Honor Society. This year marks an exciting milestone as the school celebrates its largest National Honor Society chapter in recent history. These scholars exemplify the core core values of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Each student has earned and may have even exceeded the required 3.5 cumulative GPA, demonstrating strong academic dedication and perseverance. And beyond the classroom, these students shine in a wide range of wide range of extracurricular activities, including the Beta Club, band, basketball, cheerleading, football, wrestling, and more. Their involvement refle reflects the

spirit, discipline, and community pride that define East St. Louis Senior High School. So, we commend these students for their academic excellence, integrity, and commitment to service and look forward to witnessing their continued success and leadership. The Beta Club for from East St. Louis Senior High School excelled at the regional leadership summit held recently at Southeast Missouri State University. Competing against clubs from Missouri, Mississippi, and Illinois, our students showcased their leadership, teamwork, and problem solving skills across a series of judged events. A team of six of our outstanding scholars delivered an exceptional performance and earned a coveted spot at nationals for the category called collaboration connections. The students include Darion Millander, Javanni Winters, David Castillo, Janila McDaniel, Janyla Hill, and Demaya Ward. The collaborative connections challenge puts teams teamwork, creativity, problem solving, and leadership to the

test. Students must think critically, communicate effectively, and respond to real-time challenges using only the materials provided. And in short, it's all about their brain power, collaboration, and quick thinking. and our beta scholars delivered in every way in order to earn a spot towards nationals. >> All right. >> So, we're very proud of this um their hard work and dedication and we look forward to cheering them on at nationals when they represent us um in June in Nashville, Tennessee. >> Thank you. >> Our next number six will be a motion to approve the minutes for September 16th public hearing special meetings. Then I went to uh Lincoln and then I ended at East Side High School and then I went to St. Louis in 2000. Uh while in St. Louis I was a juvenile detective for 13 years. Uh got promoted to a sergeant. As a sergeant I managed I did a lot uh worked with the um juvenile division. I worked with the uh schools. I was over a unit called FIU which is force investigative unit. And what we did was we investigated all police shootings. So unfortunately the incident that occurred in October of 22 at the school uh my unit was responsible for taking down a threat and

so I had to assess the situation. So with that being said, I'm real big on training. I'm real big on intruder drills and and um building safety and all of that. So I have a lot that I want to accomplish and I just hope you guys give me the patience and the time to do that. >> All right. Well, thank you. >> Thank you. Okay. And what this is, this is given by uh this is something we've done before. Sigma gamma folk row sorority and it's a youth symposium where our kids get a lot of uh educational opportunities related to employment, um clothing, food, they get a big book bag, but it's really something our kids look forward to and it's a um a big asset for the community.
