here. >> Mrs. Zimmer >> here. >> Mrs. Herbert. Oh, >> she's walking in right now. >> She's here. Yep. Um, Mrs. Walsh >> here. >> And Mr. Person here. Everybody's here. >> Go to item three, pledge of allegiance. Pledge of >> Allegiance. United States of America and to it stands one nation for all to item B executive session. It is recommended that the Groport Madison School Board of Education enter executive session for one hour to consider the investigation of charges or complaints against district employee or official pursuant to OC121.22G1 and confer with board's attorney concerning speeds involving the public body that are subject to pending and intimate court action pursuant to OC121.22G3. T2 G3. >> I so move. >> Second. >> Can we do roll call, please? >> Mrs. Dberger. >> I. >> Miss. >>

Yes. >> Miss Herbert. >> Hi. >> Miss Walsh. >> Hi. >> And Mr. Christian. >> Hi. 634. >> 634. the discussion. It's 8:37 and we're back from exception and in regular session. Um we'll move on to item D, agenda approval. Um move I move the board moves that we adopt the agenda. We have a couple changes to the agenda. We will be deleting item G4, item M, N, and O. Mrs. Walsh, there are a couple um certificated personal items that I'll have to push to the next meeting, but we can talk about that when we work on that item. >> Yeah. You want to do that now or do you want to do that when we get to certificate? >> Your preference. >> We'll just wait till we get there. Okay. >> We can make

a motion to remove them from the document. >> I don't want to make people wait if they're here. Let's if we can do that, let's do that. >> Were you wanting to remove them all or only certain >> only only certain ones because um we need to do some other things with anou prior to their approval. We have a second. >> Yeah, I'm good. >> Just for clarification. So, the contracts are still on there minus the ones that Jamie wants remitted. Correct. >> Or is it with all being? >> No, those are the only just there's just a few and I'd like to move them from this meeting to the next meeting. >> I'm making sure that's what Kathy's good. You're good. >> I'm sorry. Could you repeat your question, please? >> Are we only

removing the ones that Jamie wants and leaving the rest on the agenda? Are you wanting to move them to the next meeting? >> No, we're not moving them to the next meeting. When when we get to the certified personnel, Jamie will make a motion to remove those and then we'll remove them, right? Does that sound like a good easy way to do it? >> Yeah. So, what we are removing from the agenda from the agenda is G4 M and O. I have that. I need a first and a second. >> So move first. >> Second. >> And Mrs. D. >> I. >> Miss Emmer. >> Yes. M >> Herbert. >> Hi. >> Miss Walsh. >> Hi. >> And Mr. Christian. >> Hi. >> And we're on to public participation. We have one speaker. Um, all

meetings of the board of education, the board and the board appointed committees are open to the public. In order for the board of education to fulfill its obligation to complete the planned agenda in an effective and efficient fashion, a maximum of 30 minutes of public participation may be permitted at each regular board of education meeting. Each person addressing the board of education shall give their name um organization requested if any uh pertinent information, background information. If several people wish to speak, each person is allotted three minutes until the total time of 30 minutes is used. During that period, no person shall speak twice unless all who wish desire to speak have had an opportunity to do so. Persons desiring more time should submit their request in writing to the board of education office or email

public.goiser.org seven days prior to the scheduled meeting. The period of public participation may be extended by a majority vote of the board members present in voting. Please remember that law prohibits discussion of specific employees or their job performance at a public meeting. State law does allow for discussion by board members regarding employees in executive session of the board. Our public speaker is Jane Deckard. Jane Deckard Lagona Drive. You're probably tired of listening to me, but as someone with almost 40 years in this district in the schools, I need to speak out. I'm going to address the rumors that have to do with Little Cruiser. I know from history in this district that rumors are often based on facts. Closing Little Cruisers is not a good choice. On board docks that I read before every meeting,

there are two parts. the one that starts the board of education recognizes and the other that starts the preschool program shall be located that are eliminated from the new policy. Now, I don't have a lawyer on call, but this reads to me that the decision has already been made. If this is true, did anyone visit the campus to talk to the staff or watch what goes on in a classroom? Thinking if someone would have sat in on a class at the beginning of the year and then towards the end of the year, they would see progress being made. One reason this is a bad decision is that the K2 literacy is always a needs improvement in the state report cards. How is closing a preschool where developmentally delayed and typically developing students learn the love

of reading, socialization skills, which are so needed now, small and large motor skills, and what a classroom looks and feels like a good choice. Can we teach all these skills at an hour a week with an itinerant teacher? Even if it's just students with speech IEPs, I'm thinking they benefit more at preschool as they may not have anyone at home to help with modeling. Another reason this will also impact families. Many of our families are economically challenged and may not have the funds for their student to go to a preschool with a high quality program like Little Cruisers. Studies have shown that students from economically challenged families benefit from preschool. Some preschools or daycarees may not take these children due to their delays, which will leave families scrambling. I don't understand how students with autism

or developmental delays will benefit from itinerate teaching. Will they be assured of getting their correct minutes or hours? Is this really the least restrictive environment required by law? Where will these classes be held? What will happen to Little Cruiser? Who will write the new IEPs? Where will the parents go for IEP meetings? If students are being placed out of district, what will be the cost of the district? If 76% of our students are autistic or developmentally delayed, what will be the cost of out of district placement? I saw minimum 30,000 per student plus transportation. >> Okay. Little cruiser has the highest scores mark at state evaluations. It is a quality program. I know because I've worked there. When will this district think before it leaps instead of leaping and then thinking? When will it recognize

that the foundation for learning is built in early education elementary classrooms? Start focusing on these schools. Thank you. >> Thank you. On to item number F, recognitions. One, approve annual monthly recognitions. The superintendent recommends the Girl Fort Madison Schools Board of Education approve the resolution recognizing annual days, weeks, and months of observation as listed on the attachment. I >> I'll second. Does anyone have any questions regarding this um issue? Uh hearing none. >> Mrs. Deer. >> Hi. >> Mrs. Zmer. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Herbert. >> Yes. >> Miss Walsh. >> Hi. >> Mr. C. >> Hi. >> Motion passes. On to item G. Board items. New business. Uh, educational trust and golf outing. The board supports the educational trust fundraising event. the golf outing on June 12th, 2026 and approves expenditures related to that event.

>> So moved. This is the action item, correct? >> Yes, action item. >> This action item discussion. Thank you. So moved. >> I'll second. So, I don't see a document with those um items attached what the expenses are or the resolutions. >> I sent it out to the board. >> I think yesterday I sent out the last two years down two years. I sent it to the board. Um the first year we spent all the money and then this year we still have some left over from last year. I sent that out to the board. Did you guys get it? >> Yes. And for the record, every year, um, for those that are new to the board, um, he does provide this every time before we have our golf outing for us to review and

understand what what's came in and what's, um, went out and then we've earmarked dollars throughout the year for different things to help our students, >> right? And so, um, this year, the first year was lunch. Last year was kind of like athletics, student services or like for the kids. And so this year you also gota let me know what do you guys want to use that money for because we do make some profit obviously. Um so you guys got to let me know right today but eventually but I need this approval expenditure. So I'm starting to talk to growth already and then Paul's paddic club this too. So I'm starting to to get that stuff in line. So and it's coming up June 12th. We're getting the flyers out. I think tie April 16th I

think we're opening it up and getting the flyers to everybody. I think I seen a few guys who were actually starting to promote it April 16th at the Gro Golf Reser. >> Yeah, it is. >> Is there like a not to exceed number or anything? I don't see any numbers or anything. >> No, there's just approval of expenditures. Um like if you if you guys have the sheet in front of you I think last year right around we spent around $12,000 to 16,000 I think each in expenditures. Um, I have it right in front of me. I can grab it. But they said you guys >> I have it right here. >> Finish with the first year. start. >> I'm bring it on Monday. Sent the board. Yeah. >> And just for the record, um

Mr. treasurer. You normally what happens is we get our donations in and that's what we use to to pay for things. It's not where we're taking anything out of our district. >> It's not general fund. Like the first year we brought in $18,750. Um >> we spent roughly about 6,000 on expenses and then we uh donated to the um the lunch deck a little over 12,400. So that was a nice profit of 12,400. Um last year we brought in $22,286 from the golf outing. Um and we was able to get $10,000 u to I think it was the drama club going on a on a trip to New York um so far, but we still have 16,000 left over. So again, as the board when something comes up or if you guys hear about something,

we need to do something. So that's the expensive. Yeah. So, our expenses around 5,500 to 6,000 uh each year and that's for the for the golf for the growth for golf links and then for the food. >> Adam, can you remind me how how was the foundation set up? Was that through our board attorneys or how did we get that done? >> Yeah, I I also sent that on Monday was June 2023. Um, Kegler did a presentation and I wasn't here yet, but I don't but it was set up as a board trust. Um, and it talked about a committee may be established, but it can never commit never has been because it's just one county at once a year. So, the committee was never formed, which is just fine. But it was set up

as a board trust >> and it was managed by the board. We had the option to set it up to make it more of a community secondhand, but the board uh we had agreed to keep it in-house and we did it collectively. all five um every year. Um and we all some of us show up, attend, participate, get folks to donate, things of that nature to help with our causes. >> Thank you. And you're welcome. Was Kegler play paid out of these funds or just paid out of district funds? >> I was not here at the time. I don't think it was it wasn't paid out of this fund because the 07 was set up when we first did the first calling. >> Okay. So I don't know in June. Yeah, I can find that

for you, but I wasn't here. So, for this year, I I expect around the same expenses of five to six grand in the past couple years we've made. I said 18 one year and 22 last year. So, >> yeah. >> Any other questions? I just want to say thank you to the team for always making sure we have everything ready to go. We get it out to our folks. We have really good teams come out. We do tend to do pretty well. I've had other districts reach out to us and they like our format. So, thank you guys to our team that really gets out there and make sure we have a good fundraiser for our students and families. So I I think that information you sent was good, but I would like a little

bit more like is there a committee? Who's on the committee? >> There's no committee. >> What is the guidelines for the >> There's no committee for the trust. >> No, we are the committee. That's what we voted on in 2023. That's how we've operated. >> All right. I thought I thought the resolution said that the superintendent would put together a committee. Isn't that what it says? >> The the stuff that kegger gives you guys. >> Maybe we can look at that another meeting for to get more information. >> An option. >> Yeah. Okay. Thank you. >> Mrs. Der. Hi, >> Mrs. Emer. Hi, >> Mrs. Herbert. Hi, >> Miss Walsh. Hi. And >> Mr. Kel. Hi. Um on to um item G2, policy review. The second read for um ED EB D E DLC DLCR

J EFB. The board supports it. Oops, sorry. The board recommends approval of the board policies. This is a second read. Are we doing a vote on this? Do we need a first and second? >> Yes. >> So good. >> Second. >> And on these on these um you had a couple couple changes we added on. So we're good. So nobody else go back to this home assuming we're going to be at home. I just wanted to add >> any other comments or concerns. >> Okay, we're okay. >> Mer. >> Hi. >> And Mr. C. >> No. >> All right. So, now we're on to number three, policy review. First read. This is for policy ICGC uh preschool program revised. This is a clerical error. It was actually supposed to be ICG-R, which is where the

confusion comes from that stacker was pointing out. So, we're not removing the language of the preschool itself. Yes, this is just a discussion because our original policy specifically stated $50. So, it says we can then change it based on neighboring districts or cost of the program. >> So, you said the policy number changed. Um, what is it again? I cannot find it. >> It wasn't changed. The revision was to IGCGR and when it was updated in board dogs, it did not have the R. So, the revisions are for the wrong policy in Board Docs. >> IGCGR. Yes. >> Programs for Oops. Nope. Sorry. Preschool program. I see. Let's see. Right. Okay. Anybody have any comments or questions they like to ask? Oh, okay. I'd like to say that I appreciate the work um that went

into drafting this. I do have concerns about the process. So, we have an established policy committee whose role is to review and recommend policy changes before they come to the full board. Based on what I've seen, this policy has gone has not gone through that committee. Our policy also outlines that the policy development should follow a careful and orderly process that includes input from staff and community. Um I'm not seeing that reflected here in this policy either. Given the level of change in this draft, particularly around the program structure and tuition, I think it would be appropriate for this to go through the policy committee and include additional input um before moving forward. That is definitely fine, but keep in mind that the policies you brought forward also did not do any of the things

you just listed. Clarification. >> Thank you, Miss Emmer. I think the policy route board also did not do any of these things. So, I move that the proposed revision to policy IGCGR um be referred to the board policy committee for review and recommendation and that it be brought back to the board with any supporting information including share uh stakeholder input prior to consideration. I'll second. >> Just for context, we are discussing budget cuts and finances of this district and this policy allows us to raise our tuition to bring more money into our district. Just for the record, >> I don't see there's a problem with that, but I think it goes beyond just doing that. >> I was just putting out the record for what we are discussing currently in our district. So, I'm not

saying I don't agree with some of the items in the policy, but I do say the policy is written goes a little bit beyond what we typically would put in a policy and goes into administrative actions that are and cites laws and in a way that might cause problems and make uh >> can you not amend the policy and give recommendations to then have a vote on it at the next session? Hello. I can't hear what you're saying because I'm still speaking. Um, so that's why I think it should go to the policy committee. So, what were you saying? >> Are you not able to recommend revisions currently that you would like to see happen so then we could have a second read to actually have it completed versus drawn out like we do everything?

>> I second the motion. Can you not answer my question? >> So right now my my thing is I want to get input from the community, from the stakeholders, from the teachers and the staff on that. So no, I can't rewrite it on my own. Um, >> it's not rewriting it. It's giving recommendations for changes. That's what collaboration is, >> right? >> What you do as a group, as a board, which we fail to do every time. So, I'm asking you to give input for what you would like to see changed so we can do what you would like to actually get it done and accomplished. >> I appreciate that input. Um, but I do still believe that we should send it to the policy committee and then we should invite maybe some of the

preschool teachers or >> Can you speak up, Miss Walsh, in the mic? You're speaking very softly. If you could speak up in the mic, I'd appreciate it. >> I'm I have my button pushed. speaking into the mic. >> So, um maybe we should um I I have a motion on the floor and I would like us to if you have any questions about that motion. Are you saying you don't want it to go to the policy committee? >> No, Miss Zimmer did ask you a direct question. You just didn't answer it. So, you said if someone has questions, ask them. And Miss Zimmer has done that and that question has not been answered. Miss Walsh. Yeah, I answered the direct question and the direct answer was I would rather I cannot rewrite the policy or

make changes to it without input from staff and pol and families and people who are affected by the policy. So, I would prefer doing it that way. >> That was teachers in our audience and I don't think they have an issue with the policy bringing more money into our district. >> And also, >> this goes beyond changing the tuition. >> I'm just saying that they're sitting right here and you're saying you want their input. So, ask them. Well, I guess we can just do a roll call and um if it passes, it does. If not, we can bring it. So, >> did you make a motion? >> So, the motion was to send this to board policy committee. I have it first by or first by Kathy and second by John. Is that accurate? That's

what I have as well. >> Actually, the first on the motion to refer to the policy committee. Um, yes, that's what this vote will be on right now. Yeah. >> Okay. You're welcome. Mrs. No, >> no. >> Mrs. Zimmer, >> no. >> Mrs. Herbert, >> no. >> Mrs. Walsh, >> yes. >> And Mr. Ken, >> yes. I would like to make a motion if we could go ahead and provide our changes uh back to um and do our own due diligence working with our staff to get that input to update and have this ready for a second read so we can get this approved. If I could have a second, please. >> I'll second. >> Could you My comment My comment is this. It appears this board prepared uh prefers roundrobin serial communications to form

policy over having a policy committee meeting where the public is invited. I think that's totally ridiculous. >> Was that an accusation? >> That was my statement. You can take it however you like it. >> Okay. Can you restate your motion, please? >> I move that the board of education work collectively to make the updates and reach out to community for this policy so we can bring it back for a second read. And my second was Miss Emmer, I believe. >> And for the record, this policy was given to you a month ago. You all had plenty of opportunity to give feedback for suggestions for changes. There was no roundroin going on. This is trying to do what is best for our district. I do not appreciate the accusation, John. >> That's great. You just described

You just described roundrobin serial communication and then said you didn't do it. I can't help you. >> Round robbing communication was done >> in a public meeting. >> Everything out. You said that it was sent out to all the board members. We could have given our feedback. >> It was handed out in a public meeting on the video. Could we finish the corn, please? >> The uh the issue becomes >> special. Thank you. >> The issue I'm sorry, >> go ahead. I have something. Um Okay. So, it says I move that the board of education or collectively to make the update. >> We have a motion on the floor. >> That's what I'm reading the motion back to you. That's what it says. I move that the board of education work collectively to make the

update. Is that correct? >> Yeah. What I have is a motion to board to collectively make update, reach out to the committee and come back for a second read at the next meeting. >> Thank you, Mr. Treasur. >> Could you explain what you mean by or collectively to make the update? >> It wasn't or collectively. That's just unfortunately what your transcript is saying. Mr. treasure if you could read it again how you had it please. Thank you. >> The motion to the board to collectly make collectively makes updates and reach out to the community and come back for a second read at the next meeting first second actually. >> And the collectively part is how we've always done it with the policy where we've made our input. We work with uh send our notes back

to our treasur so we can put that and make that public on our board docs for the community to see once it's ready. And then we may have multiple versions like Miss Simmer may submit something, you may sub submit something, Miss Walsh, and that's something we'll discuss at that meeting, make the final update and vote on that. And that's what we have done historically. Did it come through okay on the closed captioning or no? I guess is that making sense on the closed captioning for you? >> Makes perfect sense. What I'm reading though is that we are collaborating individually outside of a public board meeting. We might start it in a board meeting. We may vote on it in a board meeting, but we're giving input back and forth through back channels versus having a

policy committee meeting where we have a policy committee bringing in the stakeholders and having a public meeting. I don't think that's the way it's supposed to work. And that's how we formed the OSBA policy. And the OSBA cooperated in 2 by two meetings and we have those emails. So how you did it in the past is a really bad example from my standpoint. >> Well, you definitely just jumped to conclusions because I never said anything about a 2 by 2. I just said collectively. So I'm not saying I'm going to call Miss Zimmer and say, "Hey, let's look at the ICCGR." I may have a conversation with Miss Decard and ask questions based off what she presented and and just to make sure I understand from our stakeholders like I had before, even with our

superintendent or deputy superintendent. That's what we do. I was addressing the fact that we've done it in the past making it a good example and and explaining that does not make it a good example. >> So we have a motion on the floor. Adam, could you restate the motion and then do roll call, please? >> Yes. Motion the board collectively makes updates, reach out to the community, and come back for a second read at the next meeting. and a first the toilet second. >> And how are we reaching out to the community? >> I would suggest by talking to community members that you know. >> All right. Could you do a roll call, please? >> Sure. Um, Mrs. Dber. Hi >> Miss Emmer. >> I >> Mrs. Herbert. >> I >> Miss Walsh. >> No.

>> And Mr. Christian. >> And I move that prior to a second reading of the policy IGCGR R, the board be provided with supporting information including the rationale for the proposed changes and any stakeholder input. What was the motion? Sorry, I was trying to What's the motion? >> I move that prior to a second reading. >> Yes. of policy IGCGR. The board be provided with supporting information including the rationale for the proposed changes and any stakeholder input. >> Okay, >> first John second. Any questions? Could you do roll call, please? And >> that was first on the second by John. Okay. Mr. >> No. >> M. >> No. >> Mer. >> No. >> Miss Walsh. >> Yes. >> And Mr. Kushner. >> Yes. >> Okay. So, this will a second to next at the next

regular meeting. So now we are moving on to uh superintendent agenda. Approve administr Oh do >> superintendent recommends Gport Madison schools board of education approve the following administrative personnel items as outlined on the attachment. >> So move second. Sorry. Yes. Thank you. >> Are those in our packet? >> I'm sorry, what was the question? >> Are they in our packet? >> Uh, yes. It's two resignations. It's Mr. Alman's resignation from the high school principal position and uh Casey Martin's resignation from the middle school principal because he's becoming the director of student services. I don't see in the packet. I'm going to try and get them online. One moment, please. >> It should be the first page on the packet after the board after the after the pres policy. Do you see it? So, did we

have a first and second? >> Yes, I actually first left. Wait a second. Mrs. >> Hi, Mimmer. >> Yes. >> Mr. Herbert. >> Yes. >> Miss Walsh. >> Yes. >> And Mr. Kers. >> Okay. Thanks. Is there a way that we cannot accept Mr. Alman's resignation? >> Right. >> The superintendent recommends that the Girl Madison Schools Board of Education approve the following certificated personnel items as outlined in the attachment. But there are some names I need to pull off this agenda to go for the next agenda. So, these are also not in I don't think they're in John's packet or my packet. I'm not sure why that is. Do you know why that is? >> There was an email sent to the entire board today regarding issues with the contract and possibly violating it. So,

we are tableabling it until we discuss that to come to a resolution before voting on the contract so we do not violate our contract with our teachers. Mine is in my printed packet as well as on board docs. If you want my copy, Kathy, it's right after the policies. >> Oh, I understand it's on board. >> No, but it's also It should be right after the >> It's not in our packet. >> Thank you, J. So, which one do you make a motion to remove? >> Um, there are uh five positions. It is Monica Easterly, Ashley Frzy, Melissa Friend, and Karina Turner. And please keep in mind this is nothing to do with hesitation for their recommendation. This is just a procedural situation that we need to uh pull these off of this agenda. And

if you want to amend it, we can probably postpone it to our next meeting and probably have it resolved so we have it scheduled and set in stone so people know that we are going to vote on it. Yes. But other than those changes, it's as as submitted in the attachments. So, your motion is to remove the one, two, three, four individuals from the certified um personnel items. Correct. >> It It's five, but yes. >> Well, it's a fifth one. I have Monica, Ashley, you and >> I have Melissa friend between Ashley and you >> first and second. Can we can we have the motion as a whole because we have an attachment here. So I think the motion should be made uh so that it can be understood because we have a document in

front of us and that we move to approve the certified personnel items. We have me as a first and his second on that second. And then he has a motion to remove um from the certified personnel item Monica Ashley Frenzy. >> So you and Karina turn correct superintendent. >> Yes, that's correct. So moved. >> Second. >> So I believe we have an amended motion. Am I confused? >> We have a motion to amend the document to review both individuals. >> And we're going to vote on that now. Roll call, please. >> Okay. I'm sorry. I was typing who first and who second the amended motion >> for the removal would be Kathy and myself. >> Okay. Thank you. >> For the first motion, number two is Kathy and Ashley. >> All right. So this is

the amended amendment to remove the five. >> Yes sir. >> Okay. Mrs. Der >> I >> Miss Emmer. >> Yes. >> Mr. Herbert. >> Yes. >> Miss Walsh. >> Hi. >> And Mr. K. >> Hi. Okay. >> And now on to the motion to pass the certified. >> Correct. And that was personally by Ashley. >> Yeah. >> Mrs. Dberger. >> Hi. >> Zimmer. >> Yes. Mer. >> I. >> Miss. Walsh. >> Hi. >> Mr. Christian. >> Hi. The superintendent recommends that the Groport Madison Schools Board of Education approve the following non-certificated personnel items as outlined in the agenda attachment. >> So move. >> I'll second. >> For for the record, Adam, we have a highlighting sheet. I've made an attachment A. I'll pass that now to you so that we have an official record. >>

Thank you. That's a long leave of absences, isn't It's like two pages. >> Two. The film is two pages, right? >> Yeah. We have Latoya first and second. You ready? Yep. Mr. Z. Hi, Miss Zimmer. Yes. Miss >> Herbert. Hi. >> Miss Walsh. Hi. >> And Mr. Kchner. Hi. Superintendent recommends Gport Madison Schools Board of Education approve the attached job description for the director of business services. So secondbody have any questions? I do. So um I was looking at the prior the revised drop decryption. It appears that the scope of the rules has been reduced particularly with the removal of transportation and food service oversight. At the same time the position remains at the same salary grade and we just approved this position March 18th I believe. Can you help me understand how we are

aligning compensation with the reduced scope of responsibilities and more important where do those responsibilities go? I want to understand whether we've actually reduced workload or if we've shifted them into other positions as we're discussing reduction more broadly. I think it's important for the board to understand whether this reflects a true efficiency or simply a redistribution of duties. uh transportation and food service remains with this. Uh if it is not in there, that's an oversight so we can make that correction and bring the job description back. >> So you're going to pull this and bring it to the um February 14th meeting. >> April 14th. That That's fine. >> April 14th. Thank you. >> Is everybody good with that? >> I'm I'm not hearing the 14th as stated before to the board, so that's fine with

everyone else. >> Okay. So, you're withdrawing this motion. Okay. >> Yes. >> So, we're on to um approve the engagement letter with Kegler Legal Council, Kegler Brown, Hill River. The superintendent recommends Gilport Madison schools board of education approve the authorize approve authorizing the superintendent, the treasurer and/or school officials as authorized by the superintendent to seek legal advice on matters affecting the day-to-day operations and labor negotiations of the school district with Kegler Brown Hill and Ritter as outlined in the two attachments. So moved. >> I'll second. >> Did anybody have any questions regarding this? >> So I guess the only question I would have would be the um we'll be doing this for all the law firms that were brought up um at the end because we had uh one speech law that was brought up.

So, are we gonna I guess I'm asking is the plan for the board to do this for every single law firm that was voted on during our organizational meeting? And I think Miss Zimmer, you had the same question. >> Yep. >> Was this your >> I this document was sent to me and I added it to the agenda. This was not at my request. >> Thank you so much, sir. So, whose request was it? Was it George Miss Walsh? This was um Steve Tin sent this and it was Kegler Brown's request >> to be added to the board agenda. >> Yes. >> And then I guess then if there was this uh conversation that you all had then why wasn't that shared with the full board before this popping up on the agenda? >> He

sent it to the whole board I believe that email of these documents. >> But I'm saying did you have a conversation with him about this? How did we get here? I guess I'm confused. >> He called and asked if it would be put on the agenda. I said send it to the board and put it on the agenda. I guess you could call him and ask him for follow-up questions. It would probably be better than asking me. Do you have any questions? So, I have a couple comments and questions. So based on the invoices and material that I've received because I asked for those from Adam and I believe Adam sent them to the whole board. I also had invoices from Teg Brown or from Adam I can't I think Miller might have sent them.

I don't know that was a while ago. I do have concerns about the cost of veritable the variability of billing particularly related to government relations services as well as the lack of clear definition around billing categories such as remaining legal work. The information provided shows overall cost but it does not provide sufficient clarity on scope how services are build or what is included um versus billing additionally we also receive receive legislative >> not to interrupt you but I don't think we're going to vote on it tonight and we already approved them at the organizational meeting so unless we're going to remove them they already have the approval to give legal advice. So, we're kind of wasting our time right now. >> So, I'd like to finish my statement and then address that question, please. Thank

you. >> We also receive legislative updates and advocacy through association organizations such as the OSBA and the FDA FA. I am not convinced that lobbying services are necessary expense at this time. Given that the district is considering budget reductions, I believe it is an important that we focus on essential services and ensure we have a clear expectation and transparency around cost. For those reasons, I would support moving forward legal service contingent upon revisions that remove lobbying component that cost It says 1,500 a month plus expenses which would include airfare um remaining legal work. There's no definition exactly to what that is. Um remove the lobbying component and provide clear definitions around billing expenses and communication. So making sure that all board members are equally communicated with. So, I move that the board approve the engagement

with Peg Reform contingent upon I make a motion to amend this to um contingent upon a revised agreement incorporating the following modifications. Removal of all government relations and lobbying services. Revisions of agreement to clearly defined billing categories including remaining legal work. What that means? Uh requirement for detailed itemized billing services. Um billing describing services performed reimburseable expenses limited to reasonable and necessary costs with travel expenses requiring private prior approval by the treasurer or the board president or the or the board. I'd say prior, let me rephrase that. Uh require prior approval by the board. Clarification of communication protocol to ensure coordination of legal services and that material advice to the board is shared with the full board. If somebody wants to read that, I can down. So I have >> Was that a second? So

this is a revised motion. >> Is there a second? I guess I'll second it to continue the conversation. Second, um, if you don't mind. I don't believe we're addressing the engagement of Kegla Brown as they were already approved. I believe we're addressing revisions to their engagement letter in terms of our engagement with them. Uh, versus approving the engagement. as as Ashley has stated, we approved them as a vendor in January. So, I think there needs to be some minor modification of the language that would say um we are um modifying the terms of their engagement as approve as opposed to approving their engagement. >> I would like to do a motion to postpone this until we have rationale from Steve Chugent on why he provided this to the board because we don't know why he

sent it. Do I have a second? >> Second. >> I'd also like to state he spelled my name wrong, so I didn't get it. So, there's that. >> Well, we we need to um vote on the motion that's on the floor before we introduce another. Is that correct? Is that a parliamentary procedure? I can get my book out. >> I think we have a motion to postpone. I think that um actually comes before the original motion. >> So, do we want to uh do a roll call on the motion to push things motion? >> Do we have a second on that? >> We do. >> Yeah. >> So, we want to postpone it too. So, regarding that statement, I'll just say that we shouldn't be using any law firms without letters of engagement because that

is what outlines their their fees and what they'll be charging us for. So, I think we should be expecting this. Um, I think from whence it comes is great, but I think we should actually be expecting this from all our legal firms because otherwise we can end up on the hook for costs we don't understand. So, Mr. Treasure, am I correct that we have a motion on the floor to postpone and that um supersedes the correct original motion? >> Yeah, correct. Right now, we have Ashley Percy 28 second motion to postpone >> and the postponement. My understanding was until we have an explanation from Mr. Tusan on why this was added to the agenda. Um, so we have that context. So there wasn't a date to answer your question, Miss Walsh, if I if I

heard Miss correctly. >> Correct. date Ashley to your motion. >> I can't give a date until Steve T responds to us. >> I can't read into a clip crystal baller get that date. >> Well, let's just post it then to the first meeting in May. >> That acceptable we get a response from the attorney. >> Or can we state that the most the the next meeting post his response? So then it would just be whatever if it's before the first is that it or April 14th or the next May meeting as the quickest me the meeting immediately following his response. Can we amend the motion that way Miss Emmer? >> Yes. >> Okay. Thank you ma'am. >> I'm will be the first after we talk and get a response from Keg. >> There you go.

That sets the tone for that then. >> Okay. I'm ready. So Ashley, you were saying you're waiting to hear from Steve or you might set a date. >> We are waiting to hear from Steve Tugent. When we get an answer, we will put it on the next scheduled board meeting. the next um regular >> after we get the answer from Steve Tugen, we will put it on the next scheduled board meeting. So if I get one tomorrow, it'll be on next Tuesdays. If it's after the 14th, then it will be the first one. >> Take your motion and then please >> um I have a motion to postpone. So we talked to Keer about this and why it was added to the agenda and then it it will be on the first meeting after we

talk and get a response from first by Ashley, second by the toy. That's what >> Mrs. Dber >> I. >> Miss Emmer. >> Yes. >> Miss Herbert. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Walsh. >> Yes. >> And Mr. Crystal. >> Yeah. Okay. The superintendent recommends the Gort Madison Schools Board of Education approve purchase of new Chromebooks for the 2627 school year. Um, at this point, well, once we get a first and second, I'll explain next steps. >> So, moved. >> Second. >> So, uh, Nate Psalm is coming up to the podium. There are three different quotes that Nate's bringing forward, and I think he's going to walk us through those. >> Good evening. Um, so in these quotes, um, they're all three of the same as far as the model, the quantity, the licensing we need, and,

uh, etching services of our serial numbers. The difference is, uh, one does not have an extended warranty. One has a uh, two-year extension of the warranty and a three-year accidental breakage plan. um that allows for one break over three years and then there's one that has uh accidental breakage up to the cost of the unit. Um we have done a form of ADP in all of our previous Chromebook purchases um in in which maybe I I should go back and say we used to be on a four-year rotation. We would buy 1,600 Chromebooks and replace a quarter of our fleet every year. uh last year and this year we're not doing that because Google has extended the licensing of the device for longer. Device doesn't last as long I think it's 10 years now and

the devices don't last 10 years. Um but we're getting five and six years out of them with having to add extra parts. So rather than ordering 1,600 Robux this year for students, we're proposing to order 600 and then um let you choose what you think about the accidental damage protection. Um, so >> those I should say those options are on there because we struggle to keep up with the breakage rates and having that warranty allows us to send this back to uh our partner and have them help us keep up with these devices if need be. >> I have two I have a question and then comment. Um, so why did we not have a scope? Why are we getting different warranty periods from different vendors versus getting getting the same quote or the quote

that we want from all the vendors, please? >> So, when I I send a request to multiple vendors and I give them specs of the device and specs of warranty and or engraving or white glove services, they don't all have the same exact um warranty repairs or accidental damage plans. Some companies don't have an AC accidental damage plan at all. Some of them are based on the manufacturer. Some of them are based on um what the third party vendor or the reseller can provide. >> So did we provide them a preferred warranty plan that we would have liked to see? >> I did not ask for a preferred warranty plan because there are all different based on a multitude of factors, most of which being the manufacturer or the retailer. So, like our our Dells

have a one-year breakage option in previous years. Uh, that warranty protection isn't the same from Acer. From Acer, it's this option that's before you. >> So, are we making our decision based on price or based on warranty? >> Um, I think a little bit of both. Um, the device itself is cheaper than last year. Um, it should be easier to repair. There are changes to this. Um, and I think it it has competitive specs in them compared to our our devices from last year. Last year, we got devices that had more memory in them. Um, we looked at the stats of the memory usage and found that extra memory wasn't being used. So, we also dropped that spec, which got us a cheaper price on the device. And then also at the OSBA, I think

you and I were both in the meeting. Uh there was a school doing um student level repair which was pretty impressive. They quite >> Yep. >> quite a program going. What's your feedback on that? >> So a very very cool program that they have going there. The difference with that particular district and our district is that uh that it was a small district that had uh former teachers on staff that still had active licenses. so they could be the teacher of record for that. Um, I have spoken with teaching and learning about us trying to do something like that next year in our middle schools. For now, I do have high school interns that come work for me after high school gets out. >> Excellent. Thank you. So, is there a recommendation for either one

of these specifically that you believe is the best for our district based off of >> Um, I think it's best for our district that we have accidental damage protection. Um, and I would certainly prefer the three-year worth with the value of the system. And um, I think that the price for that is not that much more and worth worth the value to our students and tech staff. >> That's the quote uh, ending in 66, right? >> Yeah. Ending in 66. Correct. >> Thank you. >> Does it make sense then to um, reflect that to the other vendors in case they off also would offer that if they knew that was our preference? Um most of the other other vendors that I work with either don't have a option to work with with them as a

repair partner or they couldn't provide this particular model. >> Thank you. >> Are there any other questions? So, Mr. Song, for the record, we are looking at which which quote with the three >> in the in the top right, right under where this bold sales quote, there's a sales quote number, and it ends in 66 is is my recommendation. The other ones end in 65, which is a shorter or I mean less valuable external protection, damage protection. And then 64 is none. And so just just to clarify that that on quote 66 that's the device comes with a one-year warranty. This comes this adds two more years. So there's three years of manufacturer warranty and then three years of accidental damage protection up to the value of the device. So, just for clarification for the

official record and recommendation, um I mentioned the attached files, but actually we're we're going to recommend for board consideration the quote 66 with a three-year accidental uh damage protection. >> Any other questions? Um, I want to point out that these also were not in my agenda packet. So, can we do roll, please? >> Mrs. Diver. >> Hi. >> Mr. >> Yes. >> M. Herbert. >> Yes. >> Miss Walsh. >> Yes. >> And Mr. K. >> Yes. >> Superintendent recommends that the Growport Madison Schools Board of Education approve the attached grievance settlement with GMLA. So moved. >> I'll second. >> Does anybody have any questions about this? >> Mrs. Der. >> Hi. >> Miss. >> Yes. M. >> Herbert. >> Yes. >> Miss Walsh. >> Hi. Nate's pulling up um my treasures reports real quick. So

that the first one will be the cash flow. Nate one more to the left the yellow left. Sorry. Thanks Nate. All right. Um so cash in March. um was actually a little better than expected. Um so that was good. Um we had about 4.8 million in revenues. Um about 8.4 in expenses, but again I was about $100,000. Um better than expected. So I'm very happy with the revenues and expenses that came in March. Um chartered receipts as you can see uh again state foundation is the 3.4 plus the 565. So that's four million of it. Then we had other revenues of 881,000 expenditures very normal 76% of our expenditures are personnel insurance or retirement and the other 22% is purchase services just a little bit supplies actually negative capital outlay. We got our credits from

CVS and then we had some other objects. So and change of prior year there is a big number there as you can see because last March we got in our tax settlement and that tax settlement should be hitting this week in April. um accounted behind. Um so that's why all the big numbers are there. So I may not explain all those but they're all kind of explained in one fail swoop. And then also our E rate we got last year in March which our rate should be coming in April too. And that's for donate is a little over half a million dollars. Correct. So we should be getting that in April. So So the numbers look good for March. Um I'm waiting. >> I'm sorry. So I'm sorry. Could you slow down and annunciate a

little bit because according to Google, something's wrong with Nate's labor and it's going to cost us half a million dollars. >> Nate, sorry, e-ate. Um, we didn't get we got that in March last year, but we haven't got it yet. It's the - funding. Um, it's the 80% 20% split. Go ahead, Nate. >> A comment on that. My understanding that I've I've gotten from a - consultant is that the contract for that the government had with the company that did the - work for them changed this past year and so things are taking a little bit longer. >> Like the approval of our project got approved like three months later than usual this year for example. >> So that money should be coming. >> Thank you Nate. I'm glad you're going to be okay. >>

Yes. Glad your health is good. >> That's all I have for those. Any questions? If not none, I'll move on to number two. This is an action item. Chair recommends the go for man schools for education approve the master servants agreeing with meta. Need a first and second. >> Second. >> And what this is is this is um just uh what we use for how we do our payroll and how we do our accounts payable. This hasn't changed. This is a yearly fee um for this boner our our our system software for payroll and payables. >> Could you say the last part pick our own? >> Yeah, this is all this is what we pay for meta to um this is how we do our payroll system and like our accounts payable and accounts receivable

and all that. That's what this pays for. >> It said it said pick your own bales. I'm trying to figure out what you were saying there. pick your own. Um, this system is is for like our payroll system, our accounts receivable system, and our accounts payable system. This pays for that through Meta. >> Oh, accounts payable. >> Accounts payable. That's probably what it is. >> Accounts payable and the pick your own bales. Thank you. >> Yes. Roll call. >> Mrs. D. >> Hi. >> Miss Zimmer. >> Yes. Mer. >> Yes. >> Miss Walsh. >> Hi. >> And Mr. K. >> Hi. Next thing is the audit. Um, the audit came back. I put an email out to you guys. I'm very happy. The audit came back for last year clean. no citations, no errors, nothing,

no even manage letter comments, nothing. So, I was very happy. We are up for the auditor state awards for the state of Ohio. Um, so hopefully um we'll hear about that maybe in in May that if we get that if not because we since we had no citations or nothing, we are up for that. So, um I told I told my staff already I was very very happy with them and pleased with them because they do all the work. So, um very happy with them. So, >> yes, great job. Thank you. Great job to you all. Uh the next item is something that happens yearly. It's a treasure recommends that the Groform Madison School Board of Education approve the resolution accepting amounts and rates as determined by the Franklin County Budget Commission for the tax

year 2026. We have first and second. >> So second again this is a yearly usually happens in March but they're a little behind the tax commissions. That's what we're doing in April. Any questions? Okay. Mrs. Delber. >> Hi. >> Mrs. Zimmer. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Herbert. >> Yes. Miss Walsh. >> Hi. >> And Mr. Crystal. >> Hi. >> The superintendent recommends the girl for Madison schools board of education approve the following consent agenda items as outlined in the agenda. >> Some move. >> Second. Does anybody want anything pulled out of the consent agenda? >> I do not. Thanks for asking. So, I have a couple questions about the Phoenix. Um, how many students are currently being placed at Phoenix? Sorry. So, right now we have one. They operate on buying seats. And so the benefit

of having more seats is that we can rotate more kids through. So as they become successful and gain the skills, we can bring them back and then we're not paying again for the same students for somebody else to use it, if that makes sense. Um the types of behaviors that we're seeing are getting worse, not better, unfortunately. So this is one of our more restrictive environments and this allows us to have different tiers there as well. So we have the lower tiers and then we have one seat that is for one of our most egregious kids. But right now we have one student there um doing very well, very successful. I've used these people for years and they're actually very good at getting kids back to the district. Whereas a lot of our outplacements want

to keep them to keep the you know the revenue but Phoenix is very good at transitioning our kids back as well. >> So I just want to make sure I'm clear. Are we planning on buying to plan to buy seats or do you state your rates? We're buying seats because if we do daily rates then it's more expensive, >> right? And so what's the financial risk if those seats go unused? >> They won't go unused. And I'm not trying to be facitious, but like I have places right now I I tried to send a kiddo there from Groport Elementary and they don't have any more seats. So we we can fill those seats with kids that need it because we weren't members and joined with them to begin with. So are we like outsourcing? Is

this like just a step to outsour special ed services? >> No, this is an out placement. It's a part of the continuum of services. So when we have kiddos who struggle more deeply with behaviors and we can't safely service them in district, we are still required to provide them services. So these are our kiddos. It's no different than any out placement that we have at like New Story or um the learning spectrum and any of that. They're just more focused on behavior and not autism. So they're basically the new story of behavior kids. So ED, Ohio, things like that. >> So what is our annual cost been for these placements? Like last year this last year, this year was our annual cost for this placement. >> So last I talked to Adam, we spent $1.6

million last year on outpacing kids. And that did not include transportation. The average outplacement runs about $110,000 before transportation. >> Have we not been working with them for a really long time? >> Phoenix, we have not, but they've been around for a really long time. I've used them in every other district I've had. >> I I believe we used them before a long time ago. I am concerned about the buying states because you said we have one student placed now, right? Is that what you said? I wish I had the seven seats right now. >> That's like a tier one, two or three student. >> That is a tier two student. >> So that student becomes a tier tier three mid year. Could Phoenix terminate a student because of that? >> No, >> the students

don't come back unless something happens like that they have to have a legal responsibility or liability on their end. And then it's not like the kid just shows up the next day to us. Like there's a discharge meeting, we have a conversation. If the kid becomes better and well off and gains those different skills, then we have a transition meeting back like that. We don't ever want to just pull kids out of outplacement and bring them back to the district without transitioning. >> Could you explain the difference between two tier one, two, and three? >> So tier one now tier one for new story is going to be different than other places because everybody defines it themselves. So, tier one kiddos or our kiddos that we're going to be having that are going to have

violent outbursts um but not as often as some of our other kids. So, there are kids that we can't safely service in a behavior unit, but we have high hopes that we could get them back relatively quickly. Tier 2 kiddos are the kiddos who maybe have been around in a couple different units. Maybe they've been dep like other outplacements and come back going back and forth or they have some other contributing factor like they have autism on top of behavior or they have something else additionally. The tier three kiddos are the kiddos that are like we categorize them based on how many adults to kids it take you know adults to kids. So those types of kiddos in that particular room would be three on one. That's three adults to one kid. And we have

several of those outplace right now at other places. Just for clarification, there is actually a approval for this contract August 12th, 2025, but it didn't have dollar amounts on it. If we were unable to place kids this year, is there a reason we'd contact them if we had a contract signed? >> So, that wasn't the contract for Phoenix. In order for us to even be able to use Phoenix, we had to belong to the Licking County ESC. So, that's what that is. The board meeting I'm looking at was for the Licking Regional Educational Service Center General Services contract that be approved August of 2025. >> That's to belong to the Licking County Educational Service Center itself. Phoenix is housed at the Licking County, >> but I'm saying there's also a contract for Phoenix on that

same board meeting. >> It might be for the particular student. >> It it doesn't have anything on it, which is why I was concerned why we were doing seven with this one versus just one. if we can amend it to save a little cost. >> I have no idea what that one is about. When I brought it in August, it was only for us to belong to that consortium. We didn't outplace that other student until right before Christmas break. So, we had a seat. So, that might be for the seat that we had that was the only one that they had left available to buy. But every year you have to go back to them. They send it out every January, February, and say, "What do you want?" And given the fact that we don't

have places to send our kids, that's when we went up and up the amount. >> So we do we have a program in our district to service any tier one, two, or three students? Do we have a program >> service any tier one, two, or three students in our district without sending them out of the district? >> We are working to make sure that our continuum is full and that we're offering all our kids all of the items that they are entitled to have this gamut of them. Right now, we do not have things to service tier 2 and tier three kids. Part of the reason that we are hiring another behavior specialist and things like that is to build the capacity in our teachers to give them the skills to handle some of these

more challenging kiddos. So, right now we are in-house keeping what I would say would be tier one kids and making it work, but we do not have anything inhouse for tier 2 and tier three. And these aren't necessarily the kiddos that 4,500 would service anyway because those are primarily autistic kids. These include kids that have traumatic brain injuries, um, intellectual disabilities, but it's all centered on behavior. >> So, we do have programs in house, but limited is what you're saying. Tier one tier one seats, right? >> If you're asking, I don't think we should be servicing our tier one students in district because they are that they have that immense needs. However, money is finite and sort like locations to send our kiddos are finite. So, if nobody will take them and or a parent

will not accept a change of placement, we can't make them go anywhere. So, we do have kiddos on site that we're servicing making it work because we have to for a myriad of reasons, but those are not kiddos that I would say should be in a classroom on a daily basis. They don't have the skills and it's disrupting the learning of other students. So, have we looked at like what the costs would be to build or expand our own ED program? >> I have not. Since I've been here, we've had conversations about looking at having 4,500 AD ED classrooms, but that is not something that we have worked on since then because they've not necessarily open to that when I talked to them last, which was in December. >> Okay. That's all I have. Is

that Mrs. Dber? >> Hi. >> Miss Emmer. >> Yes. >> Miss Herbert. >> Yes. Miss Walsh. >> No. >> And Mr. Kersner. Hi. And that was that was a good agenda. So that was all three of those things. Uh we didn't have K. So we are on to L now. Um and I'll do this motion first. The treasure recommends the government local education approve the minutes for the following meetings. February 24th, March 3rd regular, March 3rd special, March 10th regular, and March 18th special. >> So move second. >> And I just want to um there was new minutes um at your desk. Um Kathy emailed me some some additions yesterday, late afternoon yesterday about she wanted to do some additions to the minutes. So we printed those out and they are here in your packet.

um or they rent your seat. So, you guys want to take time to look at those? >> Well, we didn't get these in 48 hours though, like normally if we're requiring that of other board members, then we should do the same here. Have enough time to read it, not on the spot if we're going to vote on it in all fairness. >> So, if you want we can push this to April 14th because the yacht I got from Kathy yesterday. So, >> I would like time to rate it. I don't know if anyone else would, but I just want to be a part and say that point of clarification. Um, Lato, are you saying you didn't have time to read Kathy's changes? Correct. >> Yes, they were just put on our chair today, Mr. Kersner.

>> Thank you. >> You're welcome. So, are you doing a motion to postpone or would you like >> Yeah, I didn't know if anybody had anything to say before I did all of that, but um I would like to make a motion to postpone to our next regularly scheduled board meeting with us receiving this with outside of our policy time frame of 48 hours to review. >> I'll second motion to postpone to April 14th and the 21th Ashley second. Yes. And I will say I do thank your uh staff and you Adam for making sure we get the minutes and enough time to get you changes before a board meeting. It must be but it may be a little bit challenging because our board meetings are back to back but but I do want to

at least call your staff out and yourself. We're trying to make sure we have it timely. Okay. >> Thank you. You're welcome. >> May I ask Mrs. Walsh, were there substantial changes that you found or any errors in voting? There were just some changes that I made and also um the um March 18th I haven't had a chance to review because the I had not received a um recording or transcript of that meeting which is so the motion is to is to the 14th. We have first and second. Yes. Mrs. >> Di, >> yes. >> Walsh. >> And board member comments. >> I'm actually not a board member, but I do have a comment. Um, I think two or three weeks ago I included a map of the proposed Fourth of July uh celebration at

at Middle School Central. And I just um you know I I um sent it out to um the the principles and some other folks to review it and get feedback. The city is asking us to engage about planning to move forward. I just wanted to make sure the board was still good with us uh to go ahead and move forward with the city to make those plans. >> Could you give me a brief rundown again, please? >> Yeah. Uh so with the construction that that's going on uh the the games of parking so the Fourth of July festival activities would be at the middle school central and Growport Elementary campus with parking there and then the games and activities would be down on the fields in the in the lower part. Um, so you know,

one of the things we'll want to make sure if there's any uh damage done to the football field to make sure there's repair plans in place, but um I I guess this is something that um I thought it makes sense for us to allow the community to have celebration and give give back and and we have the space there to accommodate that. But I wanted to at least let the get feedback from the board in case I missed anything. And I think it's great work with the um community and keep the fun going on. I love going to the Fourth of July event. >> Do you want to make it a motion just so it's cut and dry for future meetings? >> If the board wants to make a motion, I I was just looking

to if anybody was telling me no, don't don't do it. But however you want to handle that's fine with me. I think I think it's well within your authority. Thank you. >> And then the middle schools are doing a color run fundraiser to bring the middle schools together. So since Adam said we have a little extra funds, if we have money and all these students are not able to participate, I would recommend if we are all in agreeance to cover the cost of some of the kiddos. >> I think that'd be great. I love the fact that's getting them together, especially if they're going to transition to the high school. So, yeah. >> Yes. I believe it's May 1st if I'm not mistaken. And they will have a board set up to throw paint that

they would like us all to participate in as well. >> If you haven't been to one, it's pretty interesting to see how it how coded they are by the end of it. So, um, I wanted to talk about having a special meeting. We discussed this with Latoya is going to have problems getting to the April 14th because of a a new opportunity she had in the workforce. >> It's not opportunity. It's just work. It's just work. And I sent a message really early to the board trying to >> before now um when I got notified in the end of March if we could change the date or move the date, but if not it's I understand but I just just asked any other date was fine. I was going to just move everything else around

but I will not physically be here next week. >> Well, I think we need to keep that meeting but we also need to have a separate special meeting because we have some important stuff and that we need to discuss that you would need to be there for. Is there another Tuesday that would work? >> You can do the following Tuesday. It doesn't matter to me. I'll just make it work, but I'm I'm not here next week, that's all. >> Okay. >> Um I'll make it work. Okay, great. Um also wanted to bring up to the board that um the board leadership institute of 2026 is in May. Um and I wasn't sure if the board wanted to participate in that. I participate in all the things all the time since I've been on the board.

So, um I think it'll be great if we all start getting involved in OSBA heavily. I think it'll help us with us being a better board. Um but yes, I actually sit on that and I there's a work group at the end of capital conference where they take our feedback to help develop the board leadership institute for May. So, I don't know if you guys went to that and work with Miss Terry Morgan. She's the point of contact for BLI. So, if everyone can look online, the the registration closes on May 1st and see if they it's something they would like to participate in. We'd have to let the superintendent know. >> All right. >> And don't forget we missed our central region conference for spring this year. So hopefully we won't miss it for

fall. >> And I just want to say the only day I have open in the month of April for a special meeting is April 28th. >> Okay. But that's what works for you. >> No problem. Yep. So you said what day is that Ashley for the >> That is a Tuesday. >> Okay. >> Unless people want to do a Monday, which I could probably make work, but >> yeah, that's open to >> if it's a Tuesday. >> So are we looking to replace the 14th or >> No, this is an addition, Mr. Kersner. >> Thank you. >> Yeah, this is the 28th work for everybody else. coaching. >> Um, since I was roped into coaching, I miss two practices a month. >> Oh, okay. >> From our Tuesday meeting, so probably not another practice day.

>> Would that u Monday the 27th work for you, Ashley, if you did another day? >> Yes, I can do the 27th. >> Would that work for you? Okay. And that's 6 a.m. Is that right? >> April 27. April 27th special board meeting. At what time? >> 6 a.m. >> If we could do seven, that we could do a 7 p.m. That would be great. >> I want to make sure I'm clear. You said you cannot make the 14th. I thought you said you would make that work. >> No, I'm not here on the 14th. That's what I said. Okay. But we also said you wanted an additional meeting. So I said in the other day, Miss Zimmer said the only Tuesday that worked for her was the 28th. Miss Herbert stated with her co

coaching she's already missing two practices. So then at least us three were all in consensus of the that Monday, the 27th. And so I was just asking if we could do a 7 p.m. >> Yeah. >> For the special meeting on the 27th. >> Got how full of an agenda are we expecting on the 28th? 27th be it's executive session and it shouldn't be long. >> Thank you. >> Well, it could be long. I don't know. Maybe an hour or two hours. I mean, when I say long, I'm talking it's not going to be a 5 hour meeting. >> So, April 27th at 7 p.m. Just is everybody good? We can get on the internet and we can get it done. Okay. And then Kathy, can you work with legal to get us a special

notice on, you know, what the meeting is supposed to be about, please? >> What time did you sleep? April 27th. 7 p.m. April 27th, 7 p.m. since it's executive. That's what that's what toy asked for. >> Yes. >> Okay. We'll have to clarify that with um the other person who will be attending in the executive session, but we'll set that for now. >> Okay. >> And I also wanted to say that I really enjoyed all the work that was put into the um state of the school. I had a good time. It looked like everybody else had a really good time and it was great seeing everybody there >> and I would add I've heard the best jazz band that I've heard out of Groport in several decades. It was awesome. >> I would agree.

They were so >> and I want to thank Mr. Group for reading my statement um that I submitted to the board to make sure it was read. So I appreciate that. It was very difficult for me for me missing my first day of schools. I normally try to be at everything that I can. So, thank you so much, sir, for reading that. >> So, I now make a motion to adjourn. >> So, move second. Merrs. Hi, M. >> Herbert. >> I miss Walsh. Hi, >> Mr. Ken.
