Now we're on to uh adoption of the meeting agenda. I would like to update the reason for
executive session to include um per for Megan for our attorney uh to include uh 121.22 22G1 to consider the appointment, employment, promotion of a public employee or official. >> Does anyone else have any other changes to the agenda? >> Were we changing the order? >> Uh, yes. the separate stapled copy from the packet and we also emailed and and uh the one change to the agenda order is the executive session is now D on the most updated agenda just nothing else changed just a change in order okay so executive session is now >> it's after the um approval of the minutes >> um okay great but after public participation. Correct. >> Yes. Correct. Yeah. Thank you. >> Any other questions? >> Just what so the legal council was that the board legal counsel that sent
that to you for the change? Just curious. >> Yes. >> Well, she sent it back to me and beyond. Any other questions or concerns? >> Yeah. Could you repeat repeat the question and the answer, please? >> She asked if the change was um for the executive session if the legal council sent us that. >> Yeah, I was wondering which legal council sent it is what I asked. Yeah, you answered. Thank you. >> So, move to adopt the meeting agenda as it's now. >> Second. >> Who was first? John's first. >> No, she first. I second. She moved. She moved to and I second it. Okay. So, Kathy first, John second. >> All right. You could have a roll call, please. >> Mrs. Dber, >> I. >> Mrs. Zimmer, >> I. >> Mrs. Herbert, >> I.
>> Mrs. Walsh. >> Hi. >> And Mr. Gerson. >> Hi. >> On to public participation. Uh we have two people who would like to speak. Um all meetings of the board of educ and board and board appointed committees are open to the public in order for the board of education to fulfill its obligations to complete the planned agenda in an effective and efficient fashion and maximum 30 minutes of public participation may be permitted at each regular board of education meeting. Each person addressing the board of education shall give his or her name, address, cross that um organization represented if any and pertinent background information. If several people wish to speak, each person is allotted three minutes until the time the total time of 30 minutes is used. During that period, no person may speak twice
until all who desire to speak have had the opportunity to do so. Persons desiring more time should submit the request in writing to the board of education office or email public. comment goers.org seven days prior to the scheduled meeting. The period of public participation may be extended by a majority vote of the board members present in voting. Please remember that law prohibits discussion of specific employees or their job performance at a public meeting. State law does not allow for discussion of board members regarding um employees in executive session of the board and the two public participants. First we have Michelle Gibson and she would like to speak about the student voice and parent voice committee. Hello, my name is Michelle Gibson. My phone number is What number? Put the phone number. I'm sorry. What do
I need again? My name, phone number, address. >> Michelle Gibson. Okay. So, um, Judy and I kind of have a combined speech or and so if this doesn't make sense, I'm sorry. I'm trying to word it like us, but it's I may say her name like it's coming from her, but it's and then us both together. Okay, enough with that. Um, so Judy and I want to express our concerns for the student and parent voice committees. we both had the privilege to be a part of something we felt like we had a voice um where we could be a part of a solution to issues within our district. Um Judy had missed the first meeting where the committee discussed several items um as a group and we decided to um set goals to work on.
I think there were maybe five, I can't remember. Um so Judy did come to the second meeting and said she wants to work on the special education relating to IEP um to support and navigate through the process with parents. Um I was also on that group and then she was added and then we also had the privilege to work on that with Miss Zimmer. Um, this was something that we were both passionate about. So, I'm going to switch over to Judy. So, Judy was able to network with Miss Zimmer and she has continued to support, they have continued to support each other and PTO goals as well as becoming friends. Um, we actually Judy and I have also met Miss Herbert. Um, she was also on the parent committee. Um and also we have uh
I believe we all as a group the whole group I think um came out of here um having a new friend and someone to lean on um with questions and things like that. Um so these committees both committees student and parent both not only work on district issues but they bring parents together who be who began working together to bring community together. Okay this is from Judy's perspective. So um last year Judy met with individuals from the state board who came to our school. um our amazing administration who is second to none and their dedication to our student success had the opportunity to showcase our school and show them how we are working to curb absenteeism and how they are building relationships with students and parents. I had a voice and was able to answer
the difficult questions on how impactful our administration is on building trust and tearing down walls to build successful relationships with parents. In the same meeting, I was able to see students and the student voice committee speaking out, stressing their concerns and issues they have been working on. This could definitely be viewed as intimidating atmosphere for our students. However, I cannot express >> I'm sorry, ma'am. >> I couldn't hear. Could uh I I would move that we extend the time since we only have two speakers. Could I have a second for that? >> Second one. Yes. >> Thank you. >> I just didn't want you to be interrupted with him telling you you were out of time, so I interrupted you. I interrupted you instead. Sorry. >> Okay. >> Oh gosh. Okay. So, I'm gonna go
back to where I started speaking fast. So, um, so, um, so Judy felt as though she had a voice and was able to answer the difficult questions on how impactful our administration is on building trust and tearing down walls to build successful relationships with parents. In the same meeting, she was able to see students and the student voice committee speaking out, stressing their concerns and issues they had been working on. This could definitely be viewed as an intimidating atmosphere for our students. However, I cannot express the pride I took in listening to our students that day. I could see they collectively had not only been working on issues for the school, but they were learning to have their own voice and how to depend on each other, working as a team, working together as a
team. These are valuable skills our students need in life. the fact that they have been put on hold is only showing them that the school district doesn't care nor doesn't value them as a group and on that I feel the same way that >> thank you very much for your time and >> thank you thank you so much >> um point of order we have a motion on the floor that was made and second and wasn't voted on I would like to amend that motion to afford the ne the same um sustain change to the next speaker and expend extend the speaking time to uh six minutes. >> I'll second. >> I thought it was an amendment. I didn't think it we had to that's I was waiting on roll call. >> Roll call, please.
>> Mrs. Denber, >> I Mrs. >> Hi. >> Mrs. Herbert. >> Hi. >> Mrs. Walsh. >> Hi. and Mr. >> Hi. Thank you. >> So, we also have another public speaker, Judy Bey will have six minutes. >> All right. Well, maybe >> she wants to talk about unity. Sorry. >> Yes. Um, my name is Judy BB and I live at 5136 San Court. Um, good evening board members and district administration. I wished I had that six minutes to begin with. Anyways, let's move on. Um, I want to start by thanking each and every one of you for your commitment to our students. I understand it can be difficult and stressful to be responsible for making the decisions that impact our district. I understand that it's easy to stand before you and give you criticism on
how you are conducting yourselves. In attending and watching meetings online, I have observed several issues that I am very concerned about and I will be reaching out to question and better understand those issues. I had hoped that in a new board we would strive to work together. However, I am seeing more of the same. The negative, the negative, the petty, and the division. I recognize the difference of opinion as should be. But we have to move forward. We have to put our students first. I thought at the last meeting, Mr. Group had recommended some team building exercises for the work se session. Maybe I misunderstood. However, the work session was more of the same. Unproductive and nothing getting accomplished. We currently have three open director positions. I ask why. We seem to be having a
revolving door in our leaders district leadership. This is a very serious issue. I ask why we can't retain them. Is it because they cannot handle working with this school board? the trickle down effect. It all starts at the top. If the board is in chaos, that's what the focus is on all the negative. It's not about the positive. The test scores of our students are receiving the attendance percentage or even about the exciting professional development program coming next year. How can we move forward? How can we survive the next two years of the same until we vote in a new board? Change needs to happen now. We must have a successful school board to have a successful school district. Our kids deserve our best. The example the school board is showing our su students is
shameful. We expect more from our students. Therefore, we lead by example. actions speak louder than words. This school board reflects the division between our community. I a couple months ago had a conversation with a parent who actually said, "My child plays for North, not Groveport Madison, because he is so tired and frustrated by the district, by the division and the inequality within the district. This was heartbreaking for me. I am currently working on an event that may help bring our community together, but is everyone's hard work and bringing unity to our district for nothing. My family experienced I'm sorry. We experienced a tragic experience last year within the school district. I have no desire to discuss the situation. My school administration was there for my family. They did everything in their power to protect and
support us. However, I will say this. when I was at my lowest, when I was questioning and I was doubting the district administration on having my family's back, I took a step away and I took time to really evaluate things. I made the decision to not discuss my situation publicly. I chose to keep quiet and trust the process. We got our justice in the court system. The students involved not only learned about accountability, which is important, but they also got forgiveness from us. The adult involved, however, will never escape the choices they made that day. I chose to protect the school district's image, not to tarnish it. During the process, I did realize that the district administration did have our back. I did reach out and I apologize to them for doubting me for doubting
them. I am saying this for a simple reason. Sometimes we need to pause and just trust. Sometimes not everything needs to be addressed publicly. This school board is leading the division in our con community. Only you can change it. Instead of focusing on the negative, why don't we try to focus on the positive? Be successful. Take pride in what we have accomplished for our district. That is always the best revenge. Thank you for listening. >> Thank you, Miss Bey. Um I will say that the board is planning a work session for team building. We were having two separate ones. So and Jamie has been working on that for the board. So we will be doing that. Thank you very much. >> The work session you you saw was simply for um simply for polic policy
discussion. I don't know if you heard me. The the work session we had was just a policy work session. It wasn't the one you were thinking of. Um so thank you to our public participants and then we'll now move on to item C approval of the meeting minutes. >> Treasure recommends the vote for Mass and Local Board of Education approve the minutes for the following meetings. February 3rd special meeting February 3rd regular February 10th regular. >> Does anyone have any questions? So, I um was unable to review them because the recordings were not in the board recording and that's one of my accommodations for looking at those. I review the minutes by the recordings. So, could we do roll call, please? >> Mrs. >> Hi, >> Mrs. Zimmer. >> I >> Mrs. Herbert. >> Mrs.
Walsh. >> No. >> And Mr. Kerain? Who was the first? >> Oh, sorry. Who was first and second? I didn't do that. Who's first? I need a first and second. >> I'll be first. >> I'll second. >> Let me do this again. >> Thank you. >> Mrs. Der, >> I miss >> I >> Mrs. Herbert. >> I >> Mrs. Wash. >> No. >> And Mr. >> Abstain. Thank you. I'm abstaining because I could not review the audio. I'm sorry. Thank you. So, we are now on to our executive session and Adam, could you read the reason for executive session? I passed it down to you. Thank you. It is recommended that the court mass schools board education entering zero the matters relate required to be kept confidential by federal law federal rules or state statutes
by division G5 of section 121.22 of the highrise code and then also I was added tonight um highrise code 121.22G1 22G1 um act as second session to consider the employment employment promotion of a public employer official. So move >> I'll second Ashley >> Mrs. Dberger >> I >> Mrs. Zimmer >> I >> Mrs. Herbert >> Hi >> Mr. Walsh >> hi >> and Mr. >> Hi. It's a 701. >> 701. for entering an executive session. So, can you hear me now? >> Okay. Move it up because I'm loud. Anyway, so right now it is for one person. um it's for a young it's a student that needs certain things but we are going to transition to our kids that are going to Ohio a high school for the blind and high school for the deaf
to that organization because they also provide substitutes when those parents call in that what we currently have we can't do. So it allows them to own that and take care of that holistically so our kids don't have a gap in service. Yes, >> this is for students who have vision problems, right? Blind blind >> for both of them. High school for so this particular one is school for the death but they will cover both blind and death schools. >> You're welcome. >> Sorry, could you restate this is for one student but they cover both something in the district. What did you say? >> So this particular contract allows us to work with them period. We're doing that for one specific student. However, because of the level of service that they provide to those schools which
are far up north on the north side, oftentimes we can't get subs for our kids who have pair professionals to go up there and cover them. So, it's a agreement for everybody, but it does cover this specific kit. Now, >> thank you. >> You're welcome. >> And I did have a question or just make sure I understood the Eastland Fairfield career technical agreement. Um, if you could just maybe explain a little bit more on that, Jamie, that'd be great. Thank you. >> Uh, yes. So, Eastland operates a satellite program for us and there's there's two parts to this. Um, and I I need to look one is the program agreement and one is the unit agreement. So, there's a kind of an overarching one that talks about and then the unit agreement is the specific
things with us. When we have satellite programs from Eastland Fairfield, they provide the teacher, they provide the uh materials needed for the program and 75% of the seats are dedicated to us and other districts in the career tech planning district are allowed to use uh 25%. Paul, anything to add? >> Okay, because I was making sure I understood the difference between the two agreements, so that was the main thing I needed. So, thank you so much for that. This is exciting. So really excited for the district. Thank you. >> And this is the last question I guess or comment and ask I guess. Um I don't remember for program of studies like once it's done. Um, is that included in like freshman orientation with the parents at the meet and greet? Cuz I know sometimes
there's questions, you know what I mean? So, I don't know how much more cuz it's a lot um how it could be chunked down. I do like the linking and all of that, but I didn't know if it was like included with freshman orientation. I know we just had the amazing um eighth grade visit. So, great. Um I love seeing the pictures and stuff online for that. Just wondering if we have th those groups of folks now before we get to next school year, will we start sharing this early or that was just it was like a marketing question more so. I think that was an outstanding statement. That's exactly why we tried to get this approved early so we can get this out and start doing the eighth grade visits and the freshman orientation.
So, thanks. I'm I'm not sure if I'm inserting this question in the right place because I got a little lost in my agenda here with the changes. Um, do we have a a non or a resignation or or something along the lines from our JOTC program in here? >> It's not part of this portion of the agenda. >> It is. >> Okay. It is part Okay. So, can you tell me what's happening? We have >> it. It's a res. It's a non-renewal because she started after the school year. >> So, it goes back to page 75 of the GMLA master. >> We're not losing an employee. >> No. >> Okay. And in general, that that program is going well. >> Yes. >> Very well. Okay. Thank you. >> So, if I could just say so
for the record for the people that are watching because it it gets real confusing when we say things and some of our constituents sometimes don't understand if we're talking about the section of our certificated personnel and it shows a resignation and on there there's it says GMLA and contract a non-renewal. It's not a non-renewal for performance or any other reason, but there is a master contract agreement that we have with our amazing teachers. And on page 75 of that agreement, it breaks down that process. So, it's not because someone did something wrong, anything like that. It's just based on when they start and that's how our contract is set up because we want to make sure all of our teachers have the ample time, seniority, etc. for those positions. So, just so it's clear with
everyone, no one, like you said, no one's losing their job. at least wanted to point out where you can find the justification why this looks like that and the one other was the university in New England that's uh could you explain that just one more time for the public? >> Yep, absolutely. >> Thank you. So, uh this is a um student placement to work in dietetics. Uh and and it will not cost us anything. This is just our agreement with the university to have the student come work here with our food service director. And if I'm remembering correctly, I think uh she's actually a Growport graduate. >> Thank you. Now, with that, is there a partnership between that and the other program that I think it's Miss um I know they have their graduation or
something coming up because I saw the pictures. I forget the program and they have the scrubs. Um >> Oh, I know. >> You know what I'm talking about. What is it called? >> Talking about the exercise science pathway. >> Are they going to partner? >> Uh I'm not sure if they are, but it fits. It would. That's why I was wondering when I Yeah. Okay. Sorry. >> And where is their site located? It keeps saying >> where where is what? I'm sorry. >> It says that the learning will be take place at their site. Where is that located? >> Uh I think the the site is is on site here with us. >> Okay. And will that just be like in the classrooms? They come into the classrooms or how are we handling that? >>
It's primarily with the food service director in in the kitchen now. Um if if we end up expanding that into working with like the health science class that that would be classroom, but I think at least initially um this is like a internship placement for the student. um in and her program and and so it's just this is the agreement that allows them to come work with us and it spells out how that works. Again, no cost to us. >> Great. Thank you. >> Yep. >> Does anyone have any other questions? >> All right. Uh who who made the motion to >> We had John's first and second. >> Thank you. >> Mrs. Dar. I >> Miss Zimmer. >> Hi, >> Mr. Herbert. >> Hi, >> Mrs. Walsh. >> Hi, >> Mr. K. >> I
We'll skip H because nothing was pulled from the agenda and we'll go on to board items. Old business. Uh we have the board policy review called a second read. We've looked at it many times. Um, and I would say if uh we should vote on these separately and if anybody wants to make uh make a motion to amend them as they are that'd be great. Um, so, uh, I move that the board of education, uh, adopt BBA first revision BBA school board powers and duties, uh, 2026106. >> I'll second. >> So, we've had a lot of discussion. So, does anybody mind if we just go on to the vote? Roll call. Adam. Mrs. Denber. >> No. >> Mrs. Zimmer. >> No. >> Mrs. Herbert. >> No. >> M. Walsh. >> Hi. >> And Mr. Hen.
>> Hi. >> On to BBAA first revisiona board members authorities and duties 2023 12 13. Um. Does anybody have any questions? We'll go on to a vote, Adam. Oh, I move that we approve that. >> I need a first and second. >> Second. >> I'm sorry. Did you make a motion? >> I will second. >> Okay. Roll call. >> Mrs. Der. >> No. >> Mrs. Z. >> No. >> Mrs. Herbert. >> No. >> And Mrs. Walsh. >> Hi. >> And Mr. Christian. >> Hi. on to um BBF second revised draft BBF board member code of ethics 20 26 1227 I move that we approve that >> I move to approve >> all right second >> Mrs. Dber >> no >> Mrs. Zimmer >> no >> Mr. Mrs. Herbert >> no >> Mrs. Walsh >> I
>> and Mr. I >> um I move that we approve BBF E second revision draft BBF board member code of conduct 25127 >> we so we just voted on number three >> BBF that's B F E was the first one. What's this one >> BBF was first then B is second. >> Okay. So this one is now we're boot on BBFP. >> Correct. >> Okay. At first >> it was Kathy and then John was second. >> Okay. >> All right. Mrs. Dber. >> No. >> Mrs. Zimmer. >> No. >> Mrs. Herbert. >> No. >> Mrs. Walsh. >> Hi. >> And Mr. Ker. >> Hi. And I move that we table BBG first draft to not not any specific date that we just table it during our work session. We said the attorney would be looking
at those definitions. So whenever maybe or we send it to the policy committee uh move it >> to be reviewed by the policy committee. I'm sorry. Could you restate >> DBG definitions? >> I know we got a second. I guess I don't understand what this would then align with if I thought this was a part of the policies that we then now are no longer that were voted down. So, is this even needed? Can we just vote on it? I make a motion to still vote on BBG. Is there a second? >> I'll second. >> Thank you. Could you restate the motion, please? >> I would like for a motion that we continue with our voting and vote on BBG. I was first and Miss Emmer was second. >> And uh could we outline the
uh changes that are or are not being addressed in BBG, please? >> I didn't have any changes. because I just wanted to vote on all these things as as they were presented. >> I just I just want I I want the public to understand what we're voting on and I want to understand what we're voting on. >> We're voting on public content BBG. >> I understand. What I'm saying is what is the controversy? Why is this brought forward and what is the changes that we were hoping to accomplish? >> So, they were brought forward because we used to have definitions and now we do not. And people were asking questions about what does this mean? What does that mean? So these definitions were put there um for that reason. So yeah, let's go ahead and
vote. You got a first and second roll call. >> Okay. So we're we're voting on BBG. Correct. >> BBG. >> BG. Mrs. Dber. >> No. >> Mrs. Zimmer. >> No. >> Mrs. Herbert? >> No. >> Mrs. Walsh? >> Yes. and Mr. Christ. >> Yes. >> All right. Now, we're on to subject number two, which is the standing authorization part two. Uh, we did go over that. Um, so I move that we approve the revised standing authorization part two. I'll second. And any questions? We go to roll call. >> Mrs. Der, >> no. >> Mrs. Emer, >> no. >> Mrs. Herbert, >> no. >> Mrs. Walsh, >> yes. >> And Mr. Kers, >> hi. >> Could you state what the vote was, please? Like >> three nos. Three nos, two yeses. >> Okay. On to the
motion fails. On to three. Approve the resolution. I move that the board of education approve the resolution um establishing board committees and planning framework as presented and discussed um the state including approval of the finance audit committee facilities operation committee policy and governance committee student achievement and instructional committee along with their initial scopes. >> You need a second. I'll second. >> Um, it sound like you said instructional committee along with social scope. What was the last phrase? >> Instruction. Instructional uh committee. Uh, student achievement in instructional committee. >> Instructional committee. Thank you. >> Yes. So, um, does anyone have any comments? I kind of just want to clarify if these do pass and are in place, are we still going to have the parent voice and student voice separate or would that then fall under
a subcategory or subcommittee? I should say >> I I believe they would still be in place unless the board wanted to make changes to them of some kind. The voice, the student voice and the parent voice are very important. Um so there's nothing on here to take a lot for yeah >> and I'll say from my comment that's why when me as a previous board member the focus was to work with the students and the parents first to then involve into other things such as facilities since there was such you know concerns or questions and then we you know our levy ended up failing. So I think it's a matter of connecting with our community parents, community constituents and our our students. So but it like you said six committees is a lot. Um and
before you know we didn't have a lot of participation from the board with parent invoice when volunteers were requested for those committees that were also during the day um or earlier in the day. >> So I have a couple questions about your statement. You said we didn't have a lot of board >> participation from the board. Is that what you said? >> Yeah. So what happened was when we did the um you know like in the policy it states that the president can appoint however normally our practice has been hey who would like to serve and when it came time to serve for parent voice or student voice the same there was only a few the same people would agree. Then we had the admin committee at one point which was first code red then
safety same board members. I was just saying like it is a lot of committees and I'd rather focus on the things that where we're hearing from the people that we serve because that's this is a lot of just meeting and things that we can do in our meeting since we're having two a month and the restructure of the board meetings and if we're trying to move faster those things in my opinion can be addressed during this time but this allows us an opportunity to connect with our community and our students. >> Thank you. So I I would have a com I would like to say the facilities um uh the um planning framework as a document we're we're looking at gives us a structured way to handle both short and long-term planning. These are things
that we have said we want to do but we haven't done it hasn't been done the six years I've been on the board the next 12 months the long-term planning three to five years short term for the next 12 24 months right now we often hear that we're doing isn't working what we're doing isn't working uh members feel reactive we move from topic to topic without an integrated plan so instead of repeating that cycle this framework gives us a um different approach committees would review planning components within their defined scope, identify issues and options, and then bring that information back to the full board. The four board still sets priorities, determines timelines, and adopts any plan. Authority does not change. Committees would meet only when planning work in their area is needed. This document has
been in front of the board since January. We have had work session in February on it to discuss it. I believe, you know, we should be voting. Tonight is a good thing. I see this as a vote for change. Not dramatic change, but structural improvements. After six years on the board, I still do not see a clearly written short-term or long-term plan for the district. I was hopeful with a new board we could move in that direction. This framework gives us a way to do that intentionally and efficiently. Um, that's all I have to say about that. >> And I so agree with you, Miss Walsh. I do. I just the things for me is that we don't have we still I think Miss one of our constituents Miss BB spoke today and was talking
about how we need to have that unity how we need to have the unity in our in our community. So the first way to even get to the part for strategic I'm not saying it's not needed is to hear from those that we serve first. I'm I think we'll get there but I think there's such division. I don't know what would come from that. I'm not saying that nothing could, but I think the priority in six committees is a bit much to spread us then um in my opinion and we we don't haven't even had a chance to like talk about um just like other things with our student teachers and things like that and just looking at like from a HR component the profession is dying like that's a conversation. If we want to
talk about long range planning, that that's another conversation. And then with the facilities piece, I'll be honest, I think it's a conflict of interest when we have had um individuals that didn't agree, which everyone has that right, which then has impacted us not having new buildings and with the way the legislation is changing. With all due respect, I'm concerned that OFCC funding may not be available as well at some point. So we need to really hear from our community for them to truly understand what their public education system does to them does for them rather excuse me regarding all the changes that are happening in law because it's impacting schools and impacting retirements it's impacting people wanting to take the uh profession burnout things like that. So if we get in the forefront to get
more of the community to understand what we do, not us as a board, but the district as a whole, because we know if you have good schools, you have good communities, you have a good home, you have a good neighborhood, that's the number one priority, then we can definitely do the short-term plan because where we are now financially, we sit good as our treasures told us um minus the change with the law that changed that for us. And then um as far as academics, we are trending the correct way. So the two most things that are important to us, we are there. Again, I do agree with you. So I don't want you to think that this is a rebuttal. I'm just saying the priority is to work with our community so we can get
everybody on the same page. Go Cruiser Nation, everyone showing up, not just certain or pockets of people. >> I I I would like to say um I agree with what you're saying. I don't agree with the way you're categorizing it. If you go to the OSBA training, they will list the most important committees and there are four and we're forming them. And I think parental advisory is awesome. I think student advisory is awesome, but there's nothing u the reason that some of them succeeded and didn't succeed um certainly has nothing to do with me or with us. Um, and I see the ability I think if you if you really look at it holistically and you're talking about facilities, the typical way a board would um address that and uh introduce and and manage that
would be through a facility committee. And also um as you're talking about as you're talking about interaction with the public, you know that I I was born and raised here and and I graduated from here and I know the people here and I've had two years of not really being able to engage and now I'm asking that we form normal committees that normal boards have so that I can have that opportunity to engage and um see what comes of it. When I was on the board before, and I'll say it again, you know, we had we had some of these facility meetings with the township trustees there, we had the city council there, we had OPETS there, we had police and fire. We really engaged with these committees on multiple levels. And there's an opportunity
there that is different. So the way you go at it and the way I would address it are different, but that doesn't mean they're not accomplishing the same thing. However, again, if you look at it, when the training that I went to at the OSBA, they're like, "These are the four committees that pretty much any district should have, and we're in situations where uh we need to look at it." It's been frustrating for me uh to hear about, you know, it pieces of equipment that our kids couldn't use. And I was I'm sitting there going, man, if I'd been on a facility committee, I would have made my rounds busy doing all this other stuff. So give me give me the chance to serve in that in a capacity where I can help and make
the make the schools better. You know, like the tracks at the the the middle schools, there's so many different things that we could address, discuss, and actually come forward with something that a board could make a quick decision. They could say, "Oh, wow. We didn't know we could get this done for that, or we didn't know that this organization was willing to come." I'm just saying there's more tools in the tool belt that will that will help us with these committees than I think you'll realize and give it a chance. All I'm asking >> well then with that then the 4:00 p.m. meetings are not good. So if we're going to do that a 4 p.m. meeting um people are at work our even our teachers are in school. So if we're going to do
that, we need to be equitable with time. But a 4pm facility meeting, committee meeting to me is not. So I don't disagree as I stated, like you said, there's two different opinions, but I would at least just ask if this is voted upon that we consider the time frame in which we hold those committee meetings. >> Right. We held our initial meeting at that time and we gathered some specific information that was relevant and we were just jumping off. So clearly if in my goal is to involve stakeholders and community members and I couldn't get there by fixing a time I I say put the people on the bus and let them tell us where they're going and let them tell us when they're available. So one four o'clock meeting is an indication of nothing.
Thank you. >> Um can I um we keep mentioning six six committees but if I remember back in January early February my time frame is a little messed up right now. I thought we had the four committees that were there and then we also had a parent voice committee. Then we had three student voice committees. One for elementary, one for the middle, one for the high. So we actually have eight committees. Is that correct? >> That's correct, sir. >> And this and the parent voice and the student voice were already voted on by the board. I think it was a three to one vote. >> No. >> And then >> No, we have um there's the parent, the three student, and the two the policy and the facility. So that would be six. >> Okay.
I thought it was the four. I thought it was the four policies we have there. Then one parent and three student voice. >> That's eight. >> I could be wrong. I'm just trying to get this cleared up now. >> There's one elementary, middle, and high school. There's one at each building level. >> One policy, one facility, three uh student, and one parent. >> So, what about the audit committee and the teaching and learning? Yeah, because those are on this document that we're >> Yeah. Yeah. I was That's >> like to add those two definitely. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Trying to get that cleared up because I was confused. >> Adam, I didn't know what you're saying. >> And then um so I have a first of Kathy and a second for Latoya. >> Yes sir.
>> So are there any other questions statements? I think everyone wants the same end goal. We all want to do what's better for our kids, our community. What we are doing is instead of trying to compromise and come up with a plan that we can all agree upon, we just decide to bigger. I think we need to instead of focusing on what people want done now, we need to look down the line and establish a goal. We aren't going to establish a goal until we have another work session that hopefully accomplishes things unfortunately. So, I don't think this is the time to vote on this. I do think it's good ideas and it's something we can work and strive towards. We're just not there yet. I think we should table it until at least after
we establish our goals as a board as a whole before we start forming committees because we can't ask them to do work if we don't all align. I >> just my personal opinion. >> I concur, Ashley. Um the only thing I don't want um is I don't want the perception any further that we're holding up assigning people to um you know, committees. And that seems to be the p perception, but I do like the idea because I I I was hoping we would already have had that meeting, you know, or or have it on the calendar by now. So, yeah, I think that's a great idea. I would uh if your if your mo your motion was that a motion to postpone? >> Yes, a motion to postpone until after motion. >> I will second
that. >> So, you know, my position with that is that um we've already postponed this. We've had it since January. We did talk about it at the work session. That was part of the work session that we talked about. Um there's been a review period. at some point we either adopt it, amend it or reject it. You know, indefinite postponement isn't a governance strategy really. Um I Yeah, I did not there's no motion on the floor for indefinite postponement. There's a motion on the floor to postpone post um goal setting uh meeting which I hope we can put together very >> No, that's not the motion. >> Well, we motioned to postpone, but it's not indefinite. That's what I'm clarifying. Ashley made the motion. I seconded it. It is not an indefinite anything. It is
simply requesting that we revisit this after we've had a board goal setting committee. I mean, I'm sorry, board goal setting meeting. That's all. We're not there's no I just wanted to clarify there's nothing indefinite here. Thank you. So, you want to postpone it until we have our work session for team building or you want to have another work session on top of the team building work session? >> Uh, as I understood it, the work session was for team building and goal setting. It was not one and the other. It was both. >> Is that everybody's understanding of the next work session that we are going to be trying to plan? I specifically stated and I didn't know his name. I called him the West Point guy and my my motion and the action was for
goal setting. I can I can >> Steve what's his name? >> Thank you. But I'm just saying that was a discussion. It was a goal setting team building and goal setting meeting. I I believe that's what we voted in place. So is that your motion Ashley to postpone until the work session where we do team building and goal setting? >> Correct. >> And John second. >> Yes. >> Do you have that, Adam? And does anybody have any comments on that? >> All right. Could you do roll call, please? >> This is two person. Mrs. Donner. >> Hi. >> Mrs. Zimmer. >> Hi. >> Mrs. Mr. Herbert. >> Hi. >> Mr. W. >> Hi. >> And Mr. Chris. >> Hi. >> And Jamie, you'll work on getting uh I know you said there was a problem
at the last meeting. You told us speed may not be >> might be conflicted. >> I have some other requests for people uh for other facilitators as well. So, I'm continuing to work on it. I just don't have any um firm answers tonight. So, if you could share those with us, that'd be great. Thank you. On to um >> um I'm sorry, I know this is on the floor, but is there a preference? Uh I'll direct this to Ashley. Is there a preference? I would like to have a timeline for this. I would like to not leave it open-ended. Um, is is there a timeline that you you are comfortable with and the board is comfortable with to make sure this gets done by and not not June, hopefully sooner. >> Jamie, would you have
someone in mind you think you could come up with by >> I'm sorry. >> Month? >> I think we could I think we could get dates in the next month. >> So, are we okay with doing that within the next month? Are you saying schedule in the next month or an answer in the next month? >> You're saying April, right? >> April, May. >> Um, pro. Yeah, I think I think we could have it set up and scheduled in April. >> So, if you could send us some dates, some people who you would recommend or who have been wanting to do this, um, I would want to look at dates April and May. >> Is it possible we could use the second meeting we already have? That would be perfect. >> That to me would
be the >> I I will try to make that the goal to do our second April meeting as a work session. >> Great idea. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> All right. So, anything else I'd be? No. Um on to the voice parent voice committee discussion. we have with the committee. We don't necessarily have uh the exact goals or >> we we don't this is the only two committees that haven't had anyone appointed or asked if they would like to serve. So that was the thing that when it was voted upon we were told to we were asked to wait to the next meeting when everyone was present. >> We voted on the parent committee and Ashley and Latoya were appointed to that committee. the meeting minutes that we just approved have that in the
meeting minutes. So, but we don't have necessarily the goals of that committee um and maybe we just send it to you and Ashley to come up with something together um at a meeting and to bring that to the board for discussion. >> It could also be a part of the work session in general since we're going to talk about goals overall. I would want to hear from that because then that would align um but the priv past practice was to hear from the parents and then align the goals with that to bring back to the board. That's what we did before. >> So and I think the parents it it worked and we had buy in and people were coming and the word was spreading and we had the positivity in the community. So um
and it aligned with what we were already working on. We had orientation with our administrators, so everything we were already doing was solidified. However, there was a project that didn't get presented yet that still can at some point um as far as solutions because I'll tell you that particular committee just does not want to idea. They actually want to do something. So, it's not going to be just a conversation. At least that's was my experience. Um they want to actually have impact. >> Yeah. I'm having trouble following that. Could you um make your point uh again, please? Thank you. I don't think the caption's picking it up very well. Thank you. >> Okay, so we're on parent voice committee. We have the appointment. You asked, would Ashley and I like to get together to discuss
goals? Of course, we both shook our head. Not a problem. However, we are going to have a work session that's going to talk about overall board goals. We could also be a part of that first to keep that in mind. However, again, that committee has a lot to say and a lot to offer our district as a whole. And so, there is an opportunity for them to also have input in those goals for that committee. And my goal, the goal at the time was literally just to give the parents a voice. And that was the goal. And that worked. we just never got to the the presentation portion. So that's that's what I said. So the the work session, we I would like to attend that first as long as Miss Simmer is okay with
that. Um and then we could go from there. >> Yeah, that'd be fine. >> All right. Thank you, ma'am. >> Yeah, I I would just say that it would be awesome if the committee can can do the work and come back to the board because I think we're loading up. Um, I think a goal setting meeting can be very intense and there's a lot to it and I would I would like to see us focus on discovering our combined goals and not distract ourselves so much with com the committee work because I think by signing you this to you at least from my perspective that's a vote of confidence that we know you can handle it and and the whole idea behind these committees is to create efficiency for the board and quickly communicate back
and you're doing work outside and bringing it back. So, I I would personally encourage that and try to keep the board goal setting and team building. I think that by itself is a is a is a good day or two. So, that's my input. Thank we can instead meet with the committee or potential committee whoever is joined in it and bring back the goals and maybe that way the board can also have input on the goals we are working towards so we can get five from the group and then us as a board as a whole can choose three so we are working as one in unified >> exactly >> do it during a normal board meeting or the work session whatever is easiest >> and I wasn't saying that I wanted to work on
the committee goals during and I just wanted to hear what the board goals were before. So that way that was in my mindset as working with the committee. So I was never saying to bring the committee to do the board goals during that work session. It was to hear the collective to then move from that point. >> Okay. Got it. >> So So my u thing is yeah our work session will be goals for the board as a whole. That's what my understanding was and for team building. Um I thought when this was on the agenda that the people who wanted the voice committee um I think it should be a superintendent administrative committee. I think it's very important but because of the um wanting to keep our students and it sacred that and people
having not having to have recordings of meetings and um that accessibility and that's part of the open meetings act for a board committee or an advisory committee. Uh, so that's what I was thinking we would do. But anyhow, with just being on here, I thought the people who wanted this would be coming prepared to say, "Hey, this is what we think that this committee should do, and these are the goals we think the committee should have." Um, if we want, we could have that on our next agenda and the people who want this committee to be a a board standing committee, which that's fine with me. I mean, I think the voice of the students and parents is very important, but we have to have those. Our policy says that we have to have those
goals. That's what the policy says, and that's why I thought maybe you two could work on that. And same with the the parent and student both. >> I think we're in agreement, Kathy. I misunderstood. I believe I believe that Latoya is saying she would like to set the the the goals for her committee based on feedback that we create and and the common goals that we find in our in our um meeting. That is all she was saying. >> Okay. >> I don't think it's a matter of people want wanting a committee as opposed to us actually voting and um >> passing the committees. They exist and we have people appointed to them and they are going to wait until after we set our board goals and then they'll proceed from there. But the the
committees are voted on by the majority already currently. So they are established committees. >> Yes, they are. So do we have anything else on the parent advisory committee or voice committee? to >> the student voice just did not have appointees. That was the last that was the one we needed. So, actually this one really didn't need to be on the agenda, but it's a parent voice I mean the student voice committee where we need to have board members for elementary, middle, and high school. >> Yes. And um that would be what we move on to next. I did not do it at the last board meeting. I did the parent as I said because um I didn't do the students because John Kersner wasn't at the meeting. I didn't think it was fair. There's three
committees there to not have him involved and at least say whether he wanted to or not. Um as far as the parent committee, John was already on committee, so I wasn't going to appoint him to that anyhow. And Ashley and Latoya said they wanted to be on that committee. So that's why I appointed that one. Um, so now the student committee, we have elementary, middle school, and high school, three separate committees, >> correct? >> Yes. >> I would like to be on the elementary if if that works. And so I I was confused. I thought there were multiple elementaryaries. There is only one for all elementaryaries. Is that true? >> Yes, it's by building level. >> Thank you. >> You're welcome. Anybody else want to be on the elementary? >> I'll be on there. >>
So, we'll point John and Diana to the elementary uh the middle school. Anybody want to be on the middle school committee? >> I don't mind. I actually would like middle school and high school if no one else wants those two. So, if there's not enough people, those would be the two I would be interested in. >> I would like high school as well. >> So, middle school, Latoya, you said you wanted middle school >> and high school. >> Middle school. >> I will. If no one else wants to do it, I will join the middle school as well. Ashley, are there any of these committees that you want to be a member of? >> I don't think I have time for any more. >> Just being honest. >> Okay. For the middle school, we'll put
uh Latoya and John. And for the um high school, Diana and Kathy me. >> So John on the middle school and Diana and me on the high school. >> But you heard me say high school. So if I had a choice, then I would have rather had high school than middle school. But I said both. >> So do you point it? You're not you don't want to be on middle school. Is that what you're saying? I said if I had a choice, I would rather have high school if that's what you were going to do. >> Oh, I understand. But Diana said she wanted to be on it and I also would like to be on it. So that's um two people. We can only have two people on the committee. Um so the middle
school and then you're also on the parent advisory committee, right? >> And that's with Ashley, right? >> And you're on the finance and the other ones as well, Kathy. So >> I'm okay with switching. Latoya said high school first before me. So I vice president will be on the middle school. >> Yep. >> And Latoya and I will be on the high school. >> Sounds good. Thank you. >> Okay. So Adam, do you have that? >> Yeah. So we got um elementary, we got John, >> we have the John and Diana on the elementary >> middle school. Dion and John. >> Yes. >> So you guys are elementary and middle. Okay. And then high school is Kathy and Latoya. >> Then Latoya and Kathy on the high school. Perfect. Well, finally got through that one.
Great. Yay. So, now we are on to the treasur's agenda. >> Thank you. Um, the treasure recommends the Grop School Board of Education approve the student wellness and success funding plan. >> So moved. I'll second. Can you explain it a little bit, please? >> So, what this is is um this is something from the OD. These next two we have to get approval for you guys. Um but this helps us have a funding plan that spends all of our DPI money and student wellness money. Um it totals almost $6 million. Um and it just has the district plan um about what we're spending on under priority one to utilize the DPIA funds and the student loss funds to ensure that guidance counselors are in place for all our schools. Then has desired outcomes which you
guys forbid about mental health services mentoring student services. Then has priority two about we use some of this money also we'll help secretaries and nurses provide medical support and then also the desired outcomes priority three uh we will support outside agencies to provide mental health support to students and provide mental health support to staff is needed and then the act the outcomes there and one of these is the nationwide children's hospital suicide screening for students and there's a whole bunch of other ones and then priority four is the district continue to do a subm funds to ensure that school sites and social workers are in place and again getting the desired outcomes with student assessments fan engagement and then the last priority priority five to use a portion of these funds to cover the salary
benefits of reading specialists elementary so this is the stuff that we've used this money that for years it's just now we get we have to have this board app through this one and the next one >> so I'm sorry could you clarify it looked like you said DSI or DSA money I'm you said and could you explain that funding? Yeah, DP D sorry DPIA disadvantaged people impact aid and also the student wellness and success funds which is S SWS but altogether we get 5.9 million from the state but it has to be used for these five priorities >> and on the um Ohio Department of Education and Workforce there is a um when I was doing going through the agenda I did find a a page that breaks down the funding, the categories, what it's
used for, all of that. So, if you didn't find that, I can send that, but it is on the page and it's it's it's really cool. And they provide examples as well, the service, the initiatives, and the examples are there on the higher department of education and workforce website. And they just recently started having this as a single item because before it was lumped in. I saw last year we had it separate but for that it was always lumped in in your overall general correct and they want this report with our priorities which is which is fine. >> Is this ongoing or this is >> every year we'll have this. >> Okay. >> So did you did you make a motion that somebody >> Yes, there was a Latoya first and Ashley second. Mrs. >>
Hi, >> Mrs. Zmer. >> Hi, >> Mrs. Herbert. >> Hi, >> Mrs. Walsh. >> Hi, >> Mr. Christian. >> Hi. >> Then the second one. Again, the treasur recommends the grow from Madison school board approve the 20 26 C CCIP grant allocations. >> So moved. >> Second. >> And again, this is something that they're making us do with OD. It just but it gives you it gives you guys some nice info about how much we get in uh in grant money. So that's nice if you guys can have that. But again, this stuff is used for title one and IDB title four and other stuff for teachers and all kinds of other people. >> And that's the f these are federal grants. >> These are federal. These are federal, not state. Correct. >> But we
have to send the report through the state >> to the CCP. Correct. Not state following the process. >> Yep. >> Um >> and again something new also. Now, I did call today and I want to say thank you Adam and to your staff starting some additional questions because I was going through this and the only thing I wanted to know and you write to us later, but um are any of these with the changes on the federal level, what grants are going away so we can know is that because we know we're losing state money with the change of legislation, right? What federal pieces are we losing that's also going to impact our budget? So right now there was um rumors and there was stuff that we may lose uh title two, three and four
which if you if you look on here Yeah. Now um yeah which as you can see on here two three and four are roughly 750 $940,000. Um now we've heard there now it's going to stay. Um but god forbid if they do cut that that would be um more cuts that we'd have to take obviously as a school but as of right now um that was the rumor and and districts were were uh were freaking out. Um but that actually is going to stay so we don't have to worry about that right now. The two three and four as you can see they're right in the middle of that sheet. Um title two is 59,000 title three is 183,000 and change and title four is 237,000 change so but as of right now they are
st which we are very angry but if something does change and those are taken away then obviously we'll get that make up that money in the general fund which again hurts >> and that's kind of where we're supplementing the IDEA where we're not fully funded right now. >> Correct. >> Gotcha. >> Would we be able to get this in a smaller fund the next time? >> Yes. hear that. I hit the plus sign and mine's huge. Now >> I see it's a screen grab. That was the only way you could probably get it to us it so we could actually see it. Yeah. Um and I did ask them if they could you guys provide the definitions and how it what these mean and what they equate to. That was what I wanted to have
a better understand. Like I knew I understood the title n or something. Those I knew but some of them I was like I don't what this is. I wanted to understand it. Lastly the you mentioned title two, three and four rumored that they were going to go away. What was the reason for that? Because I must have missed that. >> Federal government. >> There's no reason. >> Just the federal government was going to cut them from the schools. >> No bonafide reason. >> Not that I heard. >> I just looked it up. >> Okay. I just wanted to say like >> Okay, you heard. Well, keep us posted on stuff like this so that way we can work with our um electives and let them know kind of how this impact and having this snapshot
like if you maybe could put this not in so um accounting terms to where it tells a better story when we reach out to our congressman or things like that. Hey, this is how it helps the schools and with the changes within the state, we really can't afford to lose positions with these. Right. Yep. >> Yeah. Thank you. Yep. Any other questions? Mrs. Der. >> Hi. >> Mrs. Zmer. >> Hi. >> Mrs. Herbert. >> I >> Mr. Ker. >> Hi. >> I move that we uh if there's no further business that we adjourn. >> I do. I have no comments. >> We have dec board member comments. >> Oh, it's not. Oh, I'm sorry. My apologies. >> I have a comment slashd discussion question. Um me and president Wash have been going back and forth
on the planning and I want to know the board's take on student recognition and if we are going to have them at our meetings moving forward. Just question I'll take the first stab at it. I think it's imperative um if we are doing all the other convers yes everything leads to the student right but if we don't actually see the student because I know I was going to ask during the statement this part about the model UN like that's a big thing that we've always supported our students do a great job and they get recognized at the school yes they get recognized there but it's something about coming to the board now unless they to come and I don't know that I'm sorry but I would love to hear from our students when they're doing
those things And and that way also the public overall the one doesn't have kids in the district. So they may see what Tai and the comm's team is putting out to say oh you know what look look at our district. So I think it's important that we have that and historically we have always had student presentations and recognition at our district at our board meetings. >> I I agree. I just have a little different take on it. um h having been a been a student and getting recognition, it means a lot more to me um to be recognized in my school with the board there. Um in in high school, if I'd gotten recognized and been invited to this room with a bunch of people I don't know, that wouldn't have been very exciting for
me. Um, I I I prefer and I believe our students would prefer and I believe would be great and more appropriate if we could be in front of where they want to be and and and not spend uh, you know, all night in a board meeting, but have our presidents at the schools and present where they would normally receive what I would consider normally receive awards unless something has changed. Um there are awards presentations in our schools for um most of these things and we also have like the state of the state. So I'd just like to see us recognize them in the most meaningful way and at the same time be efficient with our meetings um to where we're spending board me on board business and we're meeting the students where they are and
we're going to have these committees. So, you know, that might be an excellent tie-in for places when you're in the schools, when you're in, you know, students. That might be an opportunity to bring the community together, bring the schools together, maybe the elementarymentaries and um and have a broader audience than what we have here and maybe show more benefit to the students. So, I think I think it'd be cool to look at this um through a different lens, bigger lens, and figure out how we can make it the most meaningful we can for the students. >> Um I I would agree with that. I've been saying for years I think they need to be more meaningful than just coming to a board meeting when we have students who don't even come. Um it is important
to them, you know, and it should be done in front of their peers. the teachers celebrations and in front of their peers and board members should certainly be able to attend and uh you know give them a certificate and shake their hand just like we do at graduations and it's important um but I would say that we did discuss this at our planning meeting and we will be having two three um awards the next board meeting because we know that that's probably going to be pretty light so that fit uh perfectly to do those awards without the meeting. Shouldn't run super late because there's no new items, nothing. We're not really carrying over anything from this board meeting. So, that's a win. We're getting there and I am very happy about that. >> I just
would like to say we have student voice committees now. Why don't we ask the kids? >> It's a great idea. Yeah. >> Um I do have another comment on a different subject and that is I am very excited and I think Ashley and Latoya are also participating in reading to our Sidelia students on uh March 6 and I'm excited to see all the students. There's a lot of people in this room I think who are going to be doing that. Um so I look forward to that and I uh I thank Laura for setting that up for all of us. It's a good thing. And along the student voice thing, one one thing that occurs to me um is we're trying we are uh working and and trying to um involve other students that maybe
not, you know, are not on the um student council, etc. Get maybe some of the disenfranchised involved. And I would challenge us that we'll never know who the disenchant disenfranchised all are. So I think part of this effort I think we should do uh student surveys and parent surveys across the district and and do our best to get all the questions answered by those who can attend or working two shifts. I think I would like to hear the voice of the entire district. So I'd just like you to weigh that. I'm not making any motions, but as we move forward uh and we identify some of the concerns from these committees, I would encourage us to um do a broad reach and let everybody have a say. And also what you just talked about um
reading to the students, I don't know if we still do that, but when I when I was here a couple years ago, um public speaking, we would we would that was part of our job. We would have to go voice the characters and create all these voices and we would go read to the elementary kids. It was a very cool thing. It wasn't It terrified some of us, but you know, I had all the voices down for Clifford the Big Red Dog and the boys made a lot of fun of me when I tried to do Emily and Elizabeth. But it's a very cool thing on both ends because it grows the it grows the younger kids, younger adult um high school kids, but it also um creates that interaction. So, I just thought I'd
throw that out there. >> Anyone else? >> The kids enjoyed it. I read there today. I saw Paul as I was leaving actually. And then also on a future board topic, ideally possibly the next board meeting, I rewrote edited a potential revision to one of our existing policies that we love um for the preschool program because we have a policy setting the dollar amount of our preschool tuition. So I rewrote it to try and bring it up to the current state we are in. No action being taken. Just so you guys have it for whenever we put it on the board meeting. >> We can put it on the um April board meeting. Absolutely. >> So much for the effort. >> So that way everyone has a copy and can review it and make suggestions
or edits as they see fit. >> Thank you. Anyone else? >> Okay. I just want to mention real quick. First of all, I'm extremely proud of our girls basketball team at the high school. Coach Cington and her staff and the ladies played hard this year. Today, while we were at the board meeting, the boys played first round of the playoffs against Wesland. We lost by one point. We went up with eight seconds to go with a really big shot and uh Weston hit a bigger shot with no seconds left and ended up winning by one point. It was 4544. But I am so proud of our coaches and our players. Uh Coach Hampton, uh Coach Adam Banjo and their staff do a really good job. Really proud of the high school. I I gotta say
too just to celebrate something we did and that was um we asked questions about our music program and Mr. group communicated out and we had a pretty impressive person come in as one of many that presented about the the um band program and how to make it better. And the administration saw wise to move that person up to the high school and I'm hearing nothing but wonderful things about where our music program is headed there. >> Anything else? >> Yep. I was going to say the same thing about even our swim team and the great work. Everybody's just really doing their thing. And Ty, shout out to you guys for making sure we're in the loop because I'm on Facebook like, "Oh my god, this happened. This happened." Like, I'm trying to keep up with
everything. And um there's also great things that our PTO's are doing. There's literacy night tonight. I literally ran there and ran here and my husband had to stick it out and do all the crafts until 7:30 tonight with the girls in the cafeteria. Um they tried to spend all of our money um at the book fair, but it was a great job that our PTO's do and our literacy night at Growport Elementary was beautiful. They had coffee and Kona ice. The kids love Kona Ice for whatever reason. Taco truck. So it was really good to see that in the community coming out for that as well. So wanted to highlight those things too because all of our sports this winter have really done a really really really good job. >> Did we mention esports? >>
Yes. And they won um state. I saw that too. I'm like >> no nope I didn't mention it but that was the other thing. Uh esports like they want like that is so be on the agenda the next >> we have the swim team will be >> model UN has been invited back for the fourth time. >> Yeah. >> And we will have our esports state champions. >> And if I'm not mistaken our wrestling team's pretty bang up too, aren't they? They're doing a great job. I think they have. Yeah. So all of them, all of our kids are great. We have a good good group. Anyone else? >> If there's nothing else for the good of the order now, I motion that we adjourn. >> Very good. I beat you to it. >> Second.
>> Sorry, John. Diana. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Der. >> Hi. >> I >> Mrs. Zimmer. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Herbert. Hi >> Mrs. Walsh. >> Hi >> Mr. Hi. 9
