And then who am I? I'm talking to the only people who have something. So, for our buildings and grounds, I would like to nominate uh our head custodian of Westwood, that will be currently starting to be our head custodian at WHS in the middle of the summer, and Jake Frick. Jake Frick has been an outstanding technical support to our custodial team across the district. He consistently demonstrates leadership with both the custodial along with our buildings and grounds department. Whether organizing a crew to replace tile and floors of classrooms over a single weekend so that they are ready for students on a Monday morning, or
stepping in after his regular shift able a mowing team that were in fact short short-handed. Jake ensures the job gets done and done well. Over the past 10 years, Jake has managed two buildings, taking pride in his work and maintaining each school to a high standard. He sets clear expectations for his team and leads by example, working alongside staff to teach proper techniques and collaborating on improvements. Jake's dedication, leadership, and strong work ethic make him an asset to the district. He consistently goes above and beyond what is required to support a clean, safe, and well-maintained school environment for our teachers, students, and staff. >> [applause] >> Good evening, members of the school board. Dr. Juan, community members from the community, thank you for this opportunity to recognize one of our bus drivers. Bus drivers are
important for our students. They have to come to school safe and go back home safe. And our person who are going to be recognizing today is one of those amazing bus drivers that we have in the district. So, please ask Sayeda, my bus driver, to come here. Sayeda has been working in the district district since 2012. She's been a bus driver since then, but she has also helped with being a non-associate. She has worked again driving our students back and forth, but she spent some years helping in lunch and during recess. Now she's a full-time bus driver, and I have to say that we miss her very, very much in the building. She's one of these staff members that takes the time to walk with the students, >> [cough] [clears throat] >> listen to them,
and they are busy when they are driving, and to maintain focus in the room. But those little times that they have, those extra minutes before they start the round, she takes the time to talk to them, to listen to them, to see what they need. So, thank you. Thank you for everything that you do for us. >> [applause] >> UM I'M NOT ONE TO SPEAK IN FRONT OF PEOPLE. IT'S actually one of the things I point out in my yearly improvement. Um when we're evaluated, so you know that uh Carly Sutherland must be something really special that I've actually offered my kind of all of you. Um Carly started with Kids Club back in 2021 as an associate for our team. She quickly transitioned uh to supervisor the following year and went from supervising not
just one school to now multiple under one roof. She's a person who doesn't shy away from challenges. Uh when issues arise, she wants to know all the details uh to ensure she can fix it. She's one of the few who takes constructive criticism as a challenge to do better and she will not let me give her a compliment without also finding something that she can continue to work on. In her eyes, there's always something she can be doing. When we told the students at Westwood uh that you were going to be recognized, um some of the kids wanted to give a little bit of input. Um so we asked them, "What makes uh What do you think of Miss Carly and what makes her being at Kids Club fun?" And so some of their comments
were, "She's funny and helps with a lot of things. She's nice and kind. She has pretty hair." "She is confident and good at handling things. She plays games with us, especially Phase 10, and she likes to prank us." So tonight, Kids Club would like to recognize Miss Carly Sutherland for her amazing work IN OUR PROGRAM. >> [applause] >> HELLO EVERYBODY. SO, TRIVIA years in action, we've been writing poems for people that we recognize. Uh Katie is new to our school this year. She came to us from Lord and she has been a wonderful addition. So, I'd like to recognize Katie Zabolotsky. And um, >> [applause] >> as you can see she has a sweet smile and for those little people coming in in the cafeteria it's been such a um, a welcoming environment for them.
She brings snack and lunch and breakfast to all the little people. So, we wrote a little bit of a poem for you. With a smiling face and a cheerful hello, you keep our cafeteria running just so. You give us breakfast, snack and lunch and help us every day a bunch. You scan our cards and say hello and make us smile before we go. Snack time? Ready? Cups? You've got them washed and stacked from top to bottom. After years and we think you're pretty great. We're so happy you came to our school this year. Thank you. >> [applause] >> Now we can all take a picture after this. >> [clears throat] >> Congratulations and thank you so much. >> [applause] >> WE'LL TAKE A BREAK FROM THIS CELEBRATION AND THEN WE'LL DO THE rest of our
uh, this week. We used to take a break from the celebration and we used to take a break primarily for the recognition and uh, to file out so that you don't have to sit through a lot of this communication. You are welcome to stay. If you don't want to leave, we'd love to have you, but we're going to take a couple of minutes to get you checked out and we'll start again in 2 or 3 minutes with the communication. Thank you all for coming. Thank you for coming. Thank you. It's good to see you. Oh. >> Okay, as promised. Next item on our agenda is communications. Communication. Communications are a time for community members of the district to voice their special concerns or grievances to the community issue. There's a sign-up sheet for the public
to sign up and find their name, address, phone number, name of organization represented and date, and a brief description of the topic to be addressed. Comments are generally limited to 2 to 3 minutes and per the board policy 2:230 and otherwise governed by board policy 2:230. Any one sign up? All right. Are there any comments from the general public that wish to address the board at this time? All right. Are there any staff comments? Board comments? Excuse me. Things are all over the place. I just want to make a few comments on both of them here. But, one of the events that we had was last night. I know the other one was pretty good and whatever. So, they're going great and not too long and we'll be right back with zero. Appreciate everybody making
it out to the events so far and we'll see you over the next meeting. That's all. Okay. Is there anything else? What about the superintendent's report? Thank you. It's definitely a very exciting time of year for us as we close the school year and now are our graduations and promotions. Graduation with Stack North will be this Saturday at 6:30 in the gym at Stack North. And then graduation with Stack High School will be Sunday at 2:00 over at Independence High School in there. Um and then there are also promotions on Thursday, so next Thursday, May 21st North Group will meet at West Seneca North and Creek Seneca will meet at West Seneca High School. We're very excited for all our community events. Thank you. All right, we're going to move on to new business. So,
we'll move on to new business. The new business business is the establishment of a schedule of meeting dates and times. Student balance. [clears throat] So, what would a general Sorry, go ahead. That's kind of a general format we follow. We could change up just a little bit. Um If there's an election day in February, it forces a change. Can you guys see the calendar and board meeting on any election day? So, in February, we'll probably change in February. Other than that, I think it's fairly standard from what we do. But, we'll definitely hear if anyone has any input or if anyone has any questions. Does anybody object to having one monthly All right, members, are you ready? Any comments or questions regarding the new calendar? Okay. Any discussion or motions? Any materials? Move to approve
the proposed meeting schedule for the next year. Second. Motion by Mr. Priest, seconded by Mr. Headley. Roll call, please. Mr. Priest? Yes. Mr. Headley? Yes. Mr. Homuth? Yes. Mr. Sully? Yes. Dr. Ferris? Yes. Dr. Piccolo? Mr. Gilmore? Yes. All right, that concludes new business. Have any committees met? Have any committees had any reports since our last meeting? All right, I don't want to make a motion to adjourn. We are voting on the adjournment. So, move. Second. Dr. Ferris, motion by Dr. Ferris, seconded by Dr. Goodwill. Roll call, please. Dr. Ferris? Yes. Dr. Piccolo? Yes. Mr. Priest? Yes. Mr. Sully? Yes. Mr. Homuth? Yes. Mr. Hedley? Yes. Mr. Gilmore? Yes.
