uh a uh cooking class and some wine. So, thank you J for [clears throat] organizing that. Any other board any other board comments? Okay, moving on to prevention work. I always Heat. Heat. You see there? Uh yeah. Thank you. All right. Next item on our agenda is our monitor monitoring report. Hello, I'm from baseball and this is Juliet. Thank you for having us tonight programs. So is an international organization that creates opportunities to one-to-one projects within the school. In our school chapters, we have what's called fair and this is when the student with disability is a student without disability. These are concert at least once a week. We hold chapter events. Each school holds monthly chapter events. We have training our chapters with support. We work to develop strong student leaders from various leadership training

and opportunities. So as you can see on the slide here that we have in 50 states and in 41 countries. You can see how people with disabilities and facilities are in different programs and our goal is to have a program at North Middle School and at elementary school. Um yeah, chapter middle school was established in 2009. Um the current advisor, myself and we have about 70 members. We've taught as much as 150 kids and during co as little as about 38 students. Um we have officer meetings where we meet twice a month before school and kids playing on our runs. We have a president, vice president, three grade level officers and a buddy director. We have a lot events each month. We did paint pumpkins. We throw we have a visit from Mr. Mrs. Claus.

Um today we did our Hawaiian theme event. We also do special Olympics where we have two students on the youth generation committee. Um we they presented to middle school students all over the state in November. We attended youth leadership conference in December and we have won chapter of the year five times, international chapter of the year once and then I was awarded the spirit of friendship award in 2011, advisor of the year in 2014 and nominated for champion of the year in 22 school in 2012. Congratulations myself and also the champion leadership opportunities for disabilities. Our executive order vice president secretary coordinator ever useful and to session with community 26 this year. Our commitment to our mission is for our presentation week each month through scholarship for student leaders who attend international conferences to honor

our most dedicated advocates seniors who studies two years a graduation high began in 2012. They are the three active and during this school year to work through the budget activities members and participate. We use to support our projects and students like to create them together. disability and um you can do various fundraising opportunities. Uh this is a list of what each building does. We are all trying to raise money for you guys and we get scholarship for the best studies donors to BDLC otherwise known as best leadership conference conference that studies holds. One of our favorite events is the cold plunge. So at Creek Side, we have fire department comes and we get sprayed by fireings fun. We've done this for the last four years. Last year we raised over $14,000. This year our goal

is over $15,000. We're off close to their first plunge last year and they raised over $5,000 to do our If you'd like to join us, we have our QR codes to join our teams if you just want to donate to us. We also have QR codes if you want to take out the phones really quick and sign up. Come on. We also host a buddy friendship walk. That's why we started this in 2009 and it brings together students with disabilities and disabilities to offer inclusion. This year the walk will be held on Sunday, April 19th at the Wind Trust Arena. So we have our QR codes if you want to join us. It's lots of fun. This is Woodro's first year attending this event. [clears throat] questions, donations. [laughter] >> I have a question. If

anybody wants to know, I can see my daughter's like um so what's the process um of getting into the schools that you mentioned like Northwood and elementary schools. How does that happen? So you need an advisor. There has to be a genetic advisor and a special advisor. So maybe two advisers and then there's just contact on process as long as there's an advisor and people will help program get started any support they possibly can. Again those advisors I know and Greenwood have like a smaller version of it. They don't actually have a chapter, but they can easily start one. Do >> you know if there's anybody at Northwood who might be interested if you guys reach out and >> I had somebody Well, she retired and then I had um Sarah Brown was interested at

one point, but then she had 80 and then [laughter] >> Okay, this was >> I have a question. How many like special you have buddies? How many special niches for example at high school? >> So high school numbers right now and we have probably about 30 of our 50 to 60 about 30 members that are just ID cuz some schools they'll have integrated PD with the best buddies and I think that's you know and then they'll have best buddies but they'll have the same kids with their best buddy with them. It's all it's all changing class. It's pretty cool. >> So, we actually um our admin team at has been really great allowing us to do activities during class hours to kind of work together. We also do offer peer to do internships or service

providers and any of our classes that are heavy. tool passes out of class to me. >> Are there any um schools that don't have a presence at this point? So right now the searching does not have programmed to learn from teaching. Um we just recently you started doing elementary schools and we really love to get back to the positions and like you said there are individuals within those that are interested in that. Are there any other questions or comments regarding Best Buddies? I think it's great. Thank you. Best Buddies. A wonderful program. Really wonderful. >> All right. Well, thank you both for coming and presenting to us tonight and good luck with your many activities. >> We'll see you guys all season. Thank you. Appcate. Okay, we have one finished business in business. The first

item review of the 2025 budget. >> All righty. If I can call your attention to uh the first schedule for the general fund, fun 10. And again, I I really appreciate being able to provide this update to you because it's a it's really a nice way to look at how we're doing financially and kind of tells the story of how we're doing this year. But um looking over to the far right, you can kind of see where we're at. I always started to talk with revenues property taxes. We're about halfway there, which makes sense looking across the board. Um CPPRT, our uh corporate personal property replacement tax was typically going down, but it seems to be edging up a little bit this year, which is nice. So, I'm happy to see that help us out

a little bit. Um tuition interest pretty much where we should be. So, total local revenues looking across the board, we're pretty much in line with where we should be halfway through the year. Um going down the line a little bit more. The state revenues again about halfway there and same with the federal. So overall total revenues where we should be halfway through the year 48.6% especially when you compare across the board. Looking down at our expenditures in fund again the biggest piece for us is salaries, wages and benefits. So again a little bit up this year but you know not really unexpected given the fact that you know we've got the negotiated rates and we've also extended the benefits a little bit more to folks. So again, still within line of where we need to

be budget-wise. The biggest line there when you look at it is that supplies and materials. And typically that is for a lot of our software purchases, a lot of our annual renewals. So it starts out high, but uh it's it'll even out and again you can see that with history for the last two years. Um otherwise 10 time it's pretty much where it should be at this point in time. Any questions on that? Not the ad. The only the only really unusual thing that you might spot is when you look at transfers, you'll see that line down at the bottom or close to the bottom it says 13,836 and there's nothing next to it. That will happen in this month in January. That's the transfer for our bonds. So you'll see that next month. Okay,

any questions on fund? Okay, let's look at fund 20, our operations and maintenance. Um, again, very very similar when you look at the revenues at the top. not unusual when you're looking at the prior two years. Um again, when you look down at the expenditures, the the biggest line item is our supplies and materials and that's really again our our onm folks have been working really hard doing a lot of repairs and things like that. So it's it's not unusual to see that a little bit higher and you know they're watching those costs as well to try and keep them under control. But again, given where we are halfway through the year, they're pretty much where they should be. Um the only thing is there's a possibility then if we have some additional general state

aid or categoricals we'll move that in and you can see that in the budget revenues but we haven't moved that over there yet. So that'll help them out a little bit as well. Any questions on operations and maintenance? Okay, last one. Last big one. The transportation fund. [clears throat] Very very similar story. The revenues and again I love this schedule because it gives you a comparison year-over-year as well as the budget. when you look at where they are revenues wise, they're in good shape. There was only that one blip in 23 24 where we actually received a payment earlier than expected. Otherwise, when you across the board at last year and this year, we're pretty much where we should be revenues wise. Expenses again, they're managing their expenses. Really no big plans for capital outlay

at this point, but that's still the VC. But otherwise, transportation is, you know, operating within where they should be. The other thing that we were kind of watching again are their supplies and materials. A lot of bus parts, tires, replacements with dead hands in the usual. Any questions on transportation? All right. Any questions on the funds in general? Okay. Second quarter. >> Have we heard anything? You know, we've asked several times about the changes to the federal government and its impact and so far they haven't been there any surprise, but now they're talking about changes to state government and state funding. Has there been any um any indication that we might be subject to seeing some pressure from the state? You know, I uh I was actually on a webinar last last week that was

related to that and so far enough nobody's got any indication that you know we should buckle down or start getting nervous about funding. So not yet. crazy this year anyway. So this year from >> right and we're just trying to manage through it. I mean it wasn't like a sudden all of a sudden you know pulling once we've been able to manage through >> so far any other questions or comments regarding the second quart. >> Thank you Julie. >> Next item on our agenda then is the approval of the 2026 2027 schedule. >> Okay. Um again this is presented to you tonight so that we can start working through our budget for 2627. Couple of the key things in here is the general registration and fees. We've decided or recommended that we hold those steady

and we don't increase them this year. We've increased them the last two years, but we want to try and, you know, maintain what we've got at this point in time and just manage our costs carefully. So, that's the first thing. The second thing is kids club. Kids club's a really one of the most affordable means of after school care and is in high demand. So, we are recommending that we increase that 5%. Um the third one is the uh prek and special education tuition rates. That increase is really based on the calculation of the actual costs. So we really don't have a whole lot of say in that one. And thirdly, the lunch fees. Uh last year we increased from 20 cents. We're planning on doing the same again this year and it's really less

than what's allowable by ISBY, but we're trying to be considerate and manage our cost with that. So um those are the the main items on these schedules. Um, do you have any questions or comments or >> comments or questions regarding the 2026 27 student fee schedule? >> In general, Julie, how what's the percentage that we on these fees has been covered by? My budget is it's a small percentage. >> It's a small percentage. It's it's a really small percentage. So, even even when we change them, it really doesn't it doesn't have a huge impact on our operations. with my kids club is really like a small business. They operate on their own. We don't subsidize that or anything. It's pretty much based on what they bring in. They pay their expenses and they're they're doing

well. And you're right, the food is a little bit tucker and we're trying to manage through that as well. And you saw in the budget this year when we approved it that we planned to kind of help out the the food service budget a little bit, you know, by moving some funds in there. So expenses gone up. >> Yeah. >> Are there any other questions or comments? No. There's a suggested motion on page 149. Move to approve the 2026 2027 schedules as presented. >> Second, seconded by Dr. Bidwell. Overall, please. >> Mr. Brucey, >> yes. >> Dr. Bidwell, >> yes. >> Dr. Ferris, >> yes. >> Mr. Melli, >> yes. >> Mr. Holmes, >> yes. >> Mr. Hadley, >> yes. >> Mr. Gilmore, >> yes. >> Okay. And the last item on our agenda is

the approval of Thank you, Mr. Person. Our next item business is the approval policy revision for first reading. We have 20 policies for first reading today. All come from trust. Many of them are they call continuous improvement. Over 10 of them very minimal changes maybe three or four words here or there reference change or addition things such as that. Some of the more larger changes 410 and 4:30 will deal with financial budgetary rules. Some of the deadlines have changed there are objective truly and we're already meeting those deadlines even perform changes 180 which is our harassment building policy there's additions there including cyber bullying and building AI added to that policy distribution and now it's agency law enforcement request uh that was directly related to legislation. So that we not only by trust but also

our longer does that for years. Okay. Does anybody have any comments or questions regarding the policy revisions? Mr. Just a motion on page 965 of our materials move to approve the recommended revisions of policy 250 2270 410 430 480 510 590 5100 5280 620 6130 6160 6 260 6300 6320 770 7150 50 7180 7190 and 7290 for a first reading that you seconded by Dr. Bidwell. >> Roll call, please. >> Mr. Ma, >> yes. >> Dr. Bidwell, >> yes. >> Mr. Headley, >> yes. >> Mr. Pesy, >> yes. >> Mr. Miselli, >> yes. >> Dr. Ferris, >> yes. >> Mr. Gilmore, >> yes. Okay, that's all business reports. I work briefly on the AI committee. the AI committee had the January 5th training of the staff built up the large part of AI um committee

met um shortly after that on the 22nd of January um we're meeting to discuss what the next steps were kind of a brief overview one of the steps was to make sure there was something in place um within our policy for the students to so they were aware that AI could use could be a regular scheme that is in the um in our policy already as of right now. Um then the staff has been rolling out um basically programs and trying different things out. um using AI. One of the systems that they have put in place goes uh it's a stoplight system where AI can can be used. AI can be used in part AI cannot be used that's that attend some of the um assignments and they are in the process of trying different

things out in the classrooms right now um to try and see what works, what they can do, learn more about what can do, what they can do and so forth and that's kind of where they stand at this point. um next meeting is February 19th I believe and uh keep rolling along with it. So we are addressing it and it is being I I like the way it's going. Um we we that's what needed to be addressed initially with making sure the students were clear that you can't just do that your homework and and now it's being it's being the teachers are trying to implement into the into the curriculum. I think that's see what works and what doesn't how students react what they do um and what they do with the the system. So

that's what we're finding out and u we'll we'll be back. That's my report. Any other reports? Okay. And our next item is on our close session. Uh we have a motion to close session in your material. Please like to include the entire body of the motion. Motion in close session. Move to close session for the purpose of discussing the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the district and legal counsel for the district, including hearing testimony and complain against an employee working as legal counsel for the district. Litigation action on behalf of the particular public has been filed before administrator finds that an action is probable. Continued consideration of executive session all your recordings to be destroyed. Second second motion by Mr. Py seconded by Mr. Headley. Roll call, please. >>

Mr. Pesy, >> yes. >> Mr. Headley, >> yes. >> Dr. Bwell, >> yes. >> Mr. Meli, >> yes. >> Mr. Ho, >> yes. >> Dr. Ferris, >> yes. >> Mr. Gilmore, >> yes. Okay, we're in close session. We will go home session afterwards.
