Heat up here. Heat up here. Heat. Heat. Yeah. Heat. Comments are generally limited to three minutes in accordance with board policy policy 23. I will start with public comments. Did we have anybody sign up? >> No. Anyone? Okay. for staff comments. Are there any

staff comments? [clears throat] Any more comments? Okay, that's it for our next hand out today. Actually, let me get you in just a second. to do that. So really great. um got last week started that just school last Yeah. America. you know pretty much asking for so that energy economics going forward. That's it. Thank you. Uh next item is our report. Uh our report is on the internship program. So good evening and thank you for the opportunity to talk a little bit about a new program that uh came on board this fall. I've got Martinez. She's our internship coordinator. So, we're really excited to talk about some of the changes and some of the benefits for our students with this program. So, one of the things that we really focused on that we knew we

needed was just some more opportunities for our students to see what real world experiences were like. Different jobs are out there. What do they do? You know, we all think we know what every job is, but until you actually do it, it's really hard for people to understand sometimes what's involved. So, this program is something that we spent really about the last 18 months designing, but it's come to fruition pretty much this fall. So, we designed a framework. We met with some other schools that uh run similar types of programs. And then we really thought about what we needed here in district what fits our kids needs. So, we spent some time doing that. Then uh Emanuel has done a wonderful job curating some business or industry partners that want to partner with us as

a school district and uh work with some of our wonderful students that we have. And so right now we're at that program implementation uh stage and in designing it you know we really tried to think about what do students want? What type of program in district 200 do we want to provide our kids? So if you take a look at this, we want to make sure that the program provided positive experiences for our students and our and and really also our community that they get to work with and understand what great kids we have in Mr. Jan. So that was one of the big features we want to start out with. We want to make sure it's flexible so it works for as many students as possible. But let me barriers whether it be travel

or you know some of our kids have extremely busy schedules. We want to make sure that fit as many kids as we could. We know they're all busy. We want to make it simple. So it's graded but it's in a sense fail man and and also really focus on exposure for students and what does it look like from a program standpoint. So in terms of the internship program there's really two components to it. There's a micro internship course and an internship course and they're similar but there so the micro internship course is kind of like that appetizer or that initial exposure to what you might want to do or what different jobs or careers involve. It's much shorter in duration. So for 11th or 12th grade students, it's only a quarter long. They get two

and a half credits for it. And really that experience extends between 10 and 20 hours. Just so enough that they actually understand what the profession is, but they might not. And they might come away with this as something they want to continue to explore. They might come away with thinking, you know what, I thought maybe I want to do that, but I'm not sure. And then we have our internship experience, which is really a comprehensive experience. It's for students that say, yeah, I think I want to do that. I think that's maybe what I can see myself doing. So it's a longer semester long experience. It's designed to be 60 hours. It can be given credit or it can be given a pay. So we have three students right now that are being paid to

do an internship. And uh generally speaking that's going to be more in person at this point where our micro internships could be remote in person hybrid or something some sort of foundation hybrid focus. So with that I'm going to turn it over to Emanuel to kind of talk really how the program works. >> Yeah. uh process starts with the student right two uh the schools we want to work on and the last but most important policy they are obvious right we are seeing our best represent district partnerships basing that are looking for partners like experiences that student here in future working on So uh the program itself is uh is very intentional. We do some uh three work for the internship student and there are three days they do with me and as a group

in which we do a lot of PL skills critical thinking and concepts and uh after that they will take advantage to the actual internship. while they're in the internship. Uh they start applying the skills they learn prior internship and also visit and come to the situation going through the internship. And then last part of the offer will be the reflection part of it in which they actually update their resume and LinkedIn uh and email and the most important part which is how and so far this semester our first [clears throat] 38 students have signed up to a micro internship and seven students that had 60 hours full internship. So >> uh yes uh with how we find the program we going to do and we're going to share a little and also with sponsors uh

but something very important will be visit because the student but I will be observing the interaction so we can pick up these opportunities to improve the experience from both guys and then the last thing will We're going to review our data and uh continue collaborating with different districts. Uh this is a new update and we actually that's kind of our program in a nutshell. Are there any questions or information? Is there any questions or comments regarding this? So our internships because they take more hours. We we literally release work during that time. Um we try student after school as possible. It's more about the experience where students really get something and each one each one of the the micro program that select one um experience one one place they're going to be working at for

you know those two several. Yeah. So for an idea they select one. So a micro internship can be repeated twice and they select really fields that they think they're going to be interested in. So maybe they're interested in medical. So we're going to try to partner them with somebody that would be in the medical field. And the one nice thing we really get to know the students. Manuel spends about half an hour interviewing those students for a couple reasons to make sure that they're a good fit because we want to put students with our employers that you know are a good fit and also that he wants to make sure he finds a placement that's going to be really beneficial for our students. Does anyone have more than one student in with one? >> It

depends on the sponsor. Some are open to more than one question. Uh he's a great I mean one of the things I know is confusing and I'm still living with my older son is trying to be able to 16 years old something like that this relationship program may have this I mean we're giving opportunities for kids to figure out what they might be doing with their lives. I know that's that's been [clears throat] I think since since that's been a problem. So I I I think it's very exciting. Thank you very much. >> Thank you. Thank you. Anything else? >> Okay. Thank you. Our next item [groaning] finished business. So the next is our new business which is the first approval of high school system. This world coming at Um, we have any questions or

comments regarding the photo expensive. I was surprised that the price point versus literally 50% of the higher highest which it makes the question for me was are we talking to here? the first contacted multiple opportunities to review all the documents. make sure everything need to make sure that everybody came back positive. So at this time we have no reason to think that they have that they're missing anything for sure. Is there any other questions or comments regarding the bid? And if not, there is a suggested motion on page 50. Move to approve the B from Cine Fence for 10525,285 installation site around Woodside High School by Mr. Py. We have a second by Mr. Henry. Roll call, please. >> Mr. Greasy. >> Yes. >> Mr. Headley. >> Yes. >> Dr. Biden. >> Yes. >> Mr.

Hu. >> Yes. >> Mr. Gilmore. >> Yes. >> All right. That's all business. All right. Committee reports. Do anybody have anything to report or have anybody left since our last board meeting? Uh we had I did go as part of the activity. They did go to the training sessions of the uh for a little bit um and observe what's going on. The train is for this on January to the large part AI center. Um so uh heard some interesting things. Um and our next meeting of that committee is on the 15th which is coming up pretty quick. So we'll move on from there uh with progress on that. All right. Okay. Then the next item agenda is our close session. Uh we motion to go into close session to discuss a close session. So we

ask a motion to go into close session. Please recite the motion as it is printed in our agenda. Session for the purposes of discussing issuing compensation discourse performance specific district or legal council for the district including hearing testimony employer council for the district to determine solidity. Liation on action that's affecting on behalf of the particular public before administrative trial when the public finds an actionable for consideration of executive session made available to the public and consideration of executive session audio recordings to be destroyed by Mr. Second, Mr. Henry, roll call, please. >> Mr. Pesy, >> yes. >> Mr. Headley, >> yes. >> Dr. Ball, >> yes. >> Mr. >> Yes. >> Mr. Gilmore. >> Yes. >> Okay. We will be returning home when we're done um to consider what we can do and what we

can. So, we will be back. Uh but we are now closed. I'm going to end today. >> Crazy. >> Good idea. Okay. Okay. All right. Got it. All right. Just thanks. >> Have a good night. No problem. >> Yeah. Two weeks ago.
