do you always choose me first? >> I just come down the table. I'll start on my end if you want. I fast, Mr. Jones. >> Miss Amanda, >> nothing at this time. >> How about it, Mr. >> Okay, [laughter] that was helpful. >> See how that works. >> So, uh, just want to remind everybody that KSBA's conference is set for February 22nd, 23rd, and 24th. >> No, >> that's not right. I don't know. >> Let me back that up. How about the 20th >> 21st and 22nd [clears throat] in Lex or in uh Louisville the golf house as usual. >> So just let Jody know what your arrangements what if you need registered if you need rooms whatever. I think that's all I got. Miss man, you got anything now? >> You know [laughter] any

other board member comments? Hearing no further board member comments. the school staff reports. Miss Brianna, >> um so the basketball um have or the basketball has been supported by the band in the chair as always. We're we're going to be there again tonight. Um the FBA has started their professional clothing drive. I think it was either this week or last week. I don't remember which one, but where they're just doing a drive to get their, you know, business clothing for the kids who can't afford to buy it. Um and >> to interrupt you, where do they need to turn clothes in for that? I believe Miss Rocky's from one of the FBA members. >> Somebody had asked me the other day and I if I need to take them to Family Resource or where they

could donate them at. >> So, Miss Rocky. >> Yes. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Um and then in FFA, we're preparing for a regional competition kind of starting working on our speeches of different topics. I'm working on my talent and then our our archery has started their practices. I've heard lots of kids talk kids talking about that. So that's always a good thing to hear something new started up. That's all I got. >> Moving on to 6B. Thank you, Miss Brown. Moving on. >> I will comment on her com. >> Go ahead. >> Um very impressed with the band. Much much improved. >> Appreciate your singing the national anthem. Very good job she does. And cheerleading is much improved. So um sports staff for all those things has been excellent. just as an observer. >>

You all got the farm machinery show coming up too, don't you? >> Oh, yes. In February. I forgot about that. >> Will you stay the night or will you drive back and forth? >> Uh, we'll drive. We're just going that Saturday. Okay. >> So, we'll go up in the morning, I think around 10:11. I'm not sure. I don't remember what time exactly. And then we'll spend the day, stay for the attract people, and then come back that night. >> Okay. Any other questions, Mr. Eddie? Item 6, uh, B, Roman attendance report. >> Attendance continues to be a good thing. Um, stay up over 94% for the year. So, you can compare those numbers in the bottom right of your report compared to last year. So, across the board, we're about 8/10en to a whole percent

above where we were this time last year. Enrollment coming out of Christmas break has ticked back up a little bit. I think we gained five since our last board meeting and I know our attendance secretaries have been really busy in school with a couple kids withdrawing, lots of new enrolles. So, it's been a busy time. Um, from a truency standpoint, truency numbers continue to be really good. So far this year compared to last year, we've cut that down about 66% with the number of um file filings with the county attorney. So I think we're at five right now this time um in January compared to 15 this time last year. >> So truency filings with the county attorney are are significantly down and really I mean knock on wood but not not really many close

on the radar either. So um I did email the principles some of the attendance data today and told them how last year there was a big drop in attendance from January to February. So, we'll try to get out in front of that a little bit with proactively see if we can head off that drop and keep attendance up for the next month. Questions? >> So, was it this year or last year that we did the attendance matters kind of campaign? I remember seeing that and I just wonder if that has kind of resonated with >> this. I've not really done much with it. Well, but this year there was there was a push at the beginning of the year from principles sending things out and communicating stuff uh much more than last year and being

proactive about some attendance policies and things and I I think that's really kind of helped spur u and we also Mr. Bushman did a good job with the principles in promoting the high attendance day which we [clears throat] did very very well on that day. So, just some of those things I think have and the work that they've done with the uh MTSS process through attendance and trying to be proactive with some procedures in the buildings has definitely helped out a lot. >> No formal programs or anything, just kind of tidying up our procedures and giving more attention to it and kind of taking more initiative on our own internally. >> Great. Thank you, >> Andy. You guys, >> thank you, Andy. Moving on to item 6D, superintendent reports. >> Well, um I don't have

anything other than, you know, what I've shared with you guys before. I did send you an email today about a potential opportunity for some professional development uh for me to do through KASS. Uh if you'll just take some time, take a look at that. Uh it's three two-day events between now and June. uh and it's kind of pairing superintendent with business leaders uh across the state to go do some things uh and just again learn grow uh and how to how to manage you know a large organization. So just take a look at that. You can shoot me an email back. Let me know what you think. But uh other than that it is uh school board member appreciation month. And so I would be remiss if I didn't uh you know unfortunately I set

a bar last year and I got you [laughter] something. It's kind of that's my fault. But since I did that and and Jake, I'm not going to lie. Somebody told me that I might have left you out last year. I don't know. So >> I don't remember. >> Well, yeah. Well, if you did, you're >> my board member. Don't worry about it. Yeah. So, but I did >> go by I'm just going to go ahead and >> Thank you. >> Appreciate Mr. Jones's time right now. >> Well, >> really good stuff. >> I think Mr. Jones will like >> Well, I got assistance if I'm late. >> Okay. >> For a cupcake or cookie. >> Now, [laughter] now there's everybody there's enough for everybody to get two, but I did get plenty of the of

the chocolate looking ones if you want to grab one of those. >> Oh, watch the water. Yeah, take that homework. Thank you, sir. >> Are those the totally two flavors? I just >> No, these are just the chocolate ones. I have >> Oh, I I'll wait then. I'll wait. [laughter] You want to grab the chocolate? There's other ones coming. >> I'm not a chocolate guy. Brownie. >> I'm a chocolate person. I just >> You want chocolate? >> Yeah. Look at that thing. Worth the >> B. Now we're talking. [laughter] >> Well, here you got >> No, other than this just passing out. >> Awesome. He's delicious. >> Everybody get a chance to look at SPDM winners. >> You're in a hurry. >> John's like, "Wait a minute. I like [laughter] >> He's got a game.

He doesn't get dinner tonight. >> Might need some one with icing there. >> Is that like Snicker D?" >> Yeah, it's a snicker. The way to go. >> With the icing and the sprinkle, please. >> Thank you, sir. >> Thank you, Mr. >> Thanks, Mr. >> Take all them you want. >> See where See where he goes to get these. >> They open one. I've never been in there. Yesterday was the first time I've ever been. >> The daughters hit it pretty regular. >> Oh, okay. >> Yeah, there's one on Houston. >> There's plenty. There's plenty in there for you guys, so feel free. >> Thank you, Mr. Arvin. Anything else? >> That's it. Appreciate you guys. And >> well, thank you. >> Enjoy your treat. >> Great [laughter] reports. >> One of your best.

>> I'd have to agree with that. Was ridiculous. [laughter] >> Moving on. Item 6E. Everybody get a chance to look at SBDM? >> Yes. Item 6F, HR actions. Everybody get a chance to look at them? >> Yes. >> Item seven, A, discuss child vaccination and immunization schedule. I had to throw it on there real quick. [snorts] Uh, well, they're changing that where the uh federal government has changed theirs. Do we need to change ours, Jake? >> No, not not yet. I mean, we'll wait and see what the state does, but yeah, we don't need to change it yet. I mean, we're still complying as of now, but wait to see what the state does this year. >> Okay. because they went from like what 15 to seven. >> Yeah, but we're still complying. I mean,

we'll just wait and see what the state does. The state changes theirs to to mirror the federal recommendations, then we may have to change. But not yet. >> If we don't change with the federal, that ain't going to cost us any money, is it? >> No. >> Okay. So, we're good. >> We're good at for the moment. >> Okay. >> Any other questions on that? Moving on to consent agenda. Did everybody get a chance to look at that? Yes. >> Make a motion we approve. >> John so moves. >> I'll second. >> Miss Becky seconds here. No further discussion. All in favor second by saying I. >> I. >> All oppose. Same sign. Items nine new business 9A. Approve second reading of gifts and donation policy 04.61. I so move. >> Second. >> John seconds.

Any further discussion? All in favor? >> I. >> All opposed. Motion carries. 40. Item 9B re approve KHS offer for 14,474. [snorts] >> Is that a match? >> Yes, >> we have to match that. >> I move to approve. M. >> Amanda. So moves. John seconds. All in favor? I. >> All opposed. 40 carries. 9C review approved draft budget. It's just a draft. So >> based on last year's numbers essentially. >> Yes, I I sent some notes out on it. Um it's based on the seat numbers because we don't have those even projected yet. Um I did have a couple of things put in there. The contingency as it sets on the on the draft budget, it's right at 5%. right now. >> 5% contingency. >> Yes. >> I move to approve. >> Second >>

the draft. Mr. Amanda moves. Miss Becky seconds. >> I've got some questions on it, but I'll get with >> I'll get with you on it. >> I'd be surprised if you didn't [laughter] question. >> I expected an email before the meeting, but All in favor signify saying I. I. >> All opposed. Motion carries. Item 9D. Accept FSCC construction offer of assistance. Mr. Arvin, you want to So, we got we got this from KDE and it's uh right around $10,500. It's not um anything that necessarily um you know goes into the general budget now, but it's something if we accept this offer that if we do a building project in the future, then this money that we accepted will be available to help pay down debt. So, >> but that don't necessarily lock us into using

>> correct >> anyone specific? >> No. Uhuh. So, and I also called Dwight and asked him and he said, "Yes, I would I would recommend you accept that for potential for the future." >> And no time limit on how long. Okay. >> All right. I move to approve. >> Miss Becky so moves. >> Second, >> Miss Amanda seconds. >> Hearing no further discussion. All in favor? >> Opposed? Motion carries. 40. Open shield best for workout equipment. You know what? Our highest bid was $150. >> No. >> What a dollar. >> I will as soon as you open it. >> I figured you might had to list one or something. >> They're sealed from what I can tell except that one. It says dollar under the lowest offer. Not. >> Is this for all equipment or

is it itemized out? >> I guess it was itemized out. So, I'm not sure. The first one we have somebody m uh for a cyber VR leg extension leg curl nothing wrong uh Amy Dunment lower elementary $150 >> I guess so >> just open them all >> yeah let's do because this could be on different pieces equipment >> you know mind to bid that [laughter] are >> there's welcome uh sport sprint fitness CT800. >> Two of them $20. Amy Dunovit each. >> Wait a minute. Is that each? >> I don't know. I think six times two. So 20 time two will be 40. >> Yeah. I'm not sure. I'm not sure which way they meant to bid that. >> I'm sure they meant 20 each, Jake. The way I read it. I guess the worst

thing I can do is not pay the $20 and not get it. >> A Cyber VR1 lat pull down. Nothing wrong. $50. Amy still getting shape. >> Yeah, maybe it's good shape. She have a lot of stuff to hang her clothes on. >> Yeah, there you go. That would be neat. >> I don't know what this thing here is. Somebody might put rice in or something. You never know. Logan, how do you say it? Last name. >> That's our Yeah. >> Uh, Gton Board of Education, Sprint Fitness, CB9 $910. >> CB or CT, I guess, is different than this CT, I guess. >> Yeah. >> Okay. They're all different. >> Logan, was that the bike? >> Yeah, it's the bike. >> Okay. >> I'm gonna write bike on here. They're all different equipment. So I

mean one treadmill, not two. [laughter] >> She said I thought it was separate. >> Tell her she'll get in shape twice as fast if Yeah. [laughter] >> I'll move to accept them. >> Second. >> All in favor? >> I >> opposed. Did that leave anything left? Yeah, there's still >> item 9E1 approved district calendar change for February 16th from a no school day to a leader prep day. I got a question on that. That's the same week we're taking off for Super Bowl. >> It's the next week. So, we're taking off for Super Bowl one week and they don't want to use that day, but then they want to use a no school day for >> the Super Bowl was already a leader prep day >> and that's what I'm saying. >> So, are they

wanting to take go to from a no school day to a leader prep day? Correct. >> So, they want to work. >> We are. >> No, what they want to do is make a snow day up. Just let's call it what it is. >> Well, yeah. We're making up a snow day. See, >> for the teachers. >> There you go. >> Yep. >> Now, I'm in favor of that. >> Quit trying to hide stuff. Let's just call it what it is and move on. Anybody object to this? >> I'll move to approve it. >> Second. >> Miss Becky seconds. All in favor? >> I 40. Discussion update on copers. Mr. John Jones had asked. >> Yeah, I think I've got an update. I guess if everybody else or I got >> Okay. And so and

you know, we had talked and I spoke with Jake today and and Matt pulled some information together for him. So I mean we're we're going to look at u you know the the opportunity to uh see about voiding out the contract, I guess, is probably the right way to say it, Jake. and see if uh you know as we go through the contract language to make it work out where if we can set something up to do a transition uh be able to do it over spring break. Uh so that way we don't run the risk of you know during the school year because that's a tough time to potentially look at changing copers out and it's a it's not just a plugandplay >> uh whenever you know you take one out and put another

one in. >> Uh so We're we're going to work through the logistics of that, but that's kind of the plan that that we've talked about. So, we'll have to go through the process to uh look at bidding that out and doing some of that. Uh so, that'll be things we'll have to bring to you guys. But, if uh you know, we can do that get that done uh in a timely fashion. That's our plan. >> Yeah. So, under the contract, the the the best way to in my opinion get out of without paying any money is you're going to have to declare a default. say they've defaulted on their obligations to provide you, you know, essentially operable copers. That's why we wanted this. This is every one of these is, you know, a ticket for

something they, you know, it's not been working. So, we're going to use this with their default said you failed to do it. Under contract, you do that. They've got >> [clears throat] >> um 60 days to to fix their problems. And so, you send them the notice of fault. Give them 60 days. Assume that they don't, you know, maybe they do fix the problems to their satisfaction, but you assume they don't. At the end of that 60 days, you got to be ready to for them to come take their copers. So, simultaneously with the clearance default, we've got to, you know, put out a bid for, you know, copier bids just like we did, you know, a couple of years ago. And so, you've got to kind of do that concurrently, uh, so everything will

work out. And so, we thought today, um, because that was already the plan. We were trying to do the timing. Today, it may work out. You know, first we think we got to wait all the way to summer and maybe we can pull it off where everything lines up to do over spring break. So that's the goal for the moment. >> No further discussion on that. >> Moving on to F. Entering the exe session regarding KRS61 810 paragraph 1 section F for the discussion or hearing with might lead to this dispos student. I so move >> second. >> Miss Amanda seconds. All in favor? opposed. We are in close session.
