a regular working session order on December the 16th, 2025 at 1800 the Wallace central office building. I'd like to welcome everyone. All board members are present. Have everyone stand for the pledge, please. Pledge, please. I aliance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for its stand indivisible with liberty and justice for all. [snorts] >> Thank you. I'd like to motion to approve the agenda with the addition of 8 B1 to approve emergency certification of a high school math of the high school math teacher and abolish the temporary instructor aid to that certified position. >> Make a motion we accept the agenda. >> Mr. Jones so moves. >> I'll second. >> Miss Becky was it? Yes. >> Hearing no further discussion. All in favor signify by saying I. I. >>
All oppose. Same sign. Motion carries. 50. Public comments. Mr. Kentucky Davis. >> Good evening. How are you all? >> Good. How are you? >> Good. Just have a quick question. Uh, I know at your last meeting, obviously called out for the meeting in reference to um you were saying that me offering a table to some of the teachers for the chamber was uh politically motivated. Can I ask you why you felt that way or what led you to believe that? >> You can ask all you want, Mr. Davis. We don't have to respond. >> You don't. Okay. Well, I will show you this. This is the order form for the table. It shows it's under my farm. It's not under my political campaign. Okay. Your superintendent came to the meeting as well as Mr. Jury
and asked for us to do different things to show respect to the teachers and the students for their hard work in you raising their grades. You're looking at me like I'm telling them something that's not true. That is that is completely true. >> Oh, we we talked with the superintendent. >> So that is true. Correct. Yes, we talked with the superintendent on it. So, we'll be changing the way tonight going forward the way it's going to be done. >> Okay. Well, first off, that I don't know about moving forward. I'm talking about the what you said, which was absolutely incorrect that you took it upon yourself to feel that way. >> Okay. Well, hold on. >> So, have you have you been to and well, I shouldn't say that. I'm sure you have. Have you
been to your ethics class that's that you have to take every two years which is which hold on which is bill 2158. >> Oh absolutely >> you have. Okay. So you know that you cannot you do not have the rights in any way to assume anything without doing your due diligence on seeing if it's correct or not. >> And you yes or no. >> Go right ahead. >> No. I'm done. I'm asking you yes or no. I'm going to make a statement to you here in a minute and I'm going to leave nothing without doubt. >> Sure. Go ahead. >> Oh, no. I'm going to wait till board to say. >> Okay. Here's the deal. You cannot do things like that. What you did that is absolutely incorrect. You >> did not call any. >>
No, you're wrong. The board has the rights to do the research to find out investigating if what they are thinking is correct or not. >> Okay. I'm I'm looking at the law right here. refuse any donation that we see fit. >> You did not do anything. You did not call the chamber. You called no one to find out how it was ordered, who paid for it, what name it was under. You assume because of what's going on as far as politics of me running against your nephew. But I get that. You can do that if you so desire. Then upon the text messages that I have here and copies of, you're telling me that myself that I'm under investigation by Frankfurt, possible investigation by Frankfurt, you and I are for what I stated in the
paper about the football field. I have the rights because you named me. I have the rights for you to tell me what. >> Oh, absolutely. >> Go ahead. >> I never said you was under investigation. >> How about if I show you that? >> Absolutely. Show it because I'm going to quote it. Okay. And you did everybody on this board >> that you and I said a possible. >> Okay. There was no possible. There was no investigation. >> Do you understand Miam's Webster dictionary what the word possible means? >> But there was no possible. There was nothing. Nothing brought forward to you. Keep going. Who called you? >> Keep going. Continue. Who? It ain't none of your business who I talked to >> because you stated here that you were called. >> I was called
and it's none of your business who I talked to. Then I talked to them and nobody say that. No one called you, Hargus. >> You need to stop. >> You don't you then you ask me who I talked to. >> Well, let's put it this way. You're very unethical if you're going to call people and say, "Hey, you're under investigation." >> Never called you and said you was under investigation. >> No, you text me and said that. >> Possible investigation. >> I said possible. >> And you also stayed here like the back and forth. I mean, this supposed to work. Okay, let me finish off. But hold on. Hold on. The way it's supposed to work, public gets to say their comments and we're going to let them say his comments uninterrupted and then school
board members can say their comments. We all >> the public needs to see this. >> Well, they will see it. They're going to see both back and forth, but when each other are done. >> So, I also have here in a text from you stating that it's going to take me two to three months to clean this up. >> It is. >> Okay. What did uh you didn't ask the super >> Did you hear your attorney and your counsel? Let me finish then you can respond. >> Well, you go right ahead and I'm going to respond >> because no one called you and I have I have proof of that from the from the actual from the state. No one called you. If they did it was not absolutely not. >> You said right here
Frankfurt. I've got >> someone in Frankfurt. >> Okay. [laughter] Okay. Horus, listen. Here's here's the thing. Then you ask me, "Well, what have you ever done?" In other words, well, here, >> show me what you've ever given to the school. >> You You said and say that you donated a bunch of money. Uh, show us because we don't see it. >> You don't see it? >> No. >> You don't see the money that we give? >> No. >> Okay. Well, have you done to see if I have? >> They're supposed to give us a report and I'm addressing that tonight also. >> Okay. Because I can tell your FFA, your re what what's it called? family resource. Um the $60,000 that's put away for your for scholarships. Uh the $2,000 that was given to one
of your school employees for their child, which I have a down syndrome I have a down syndrome grandchild. I'm still talking about Kentucky. >> You can't listen. You can't you can't obey what your council is asking. >> I don't obey nobody. The only person is God. >> First first off, you're wrong because see it states right here that you work for me. I work for the You're absolutely right. I work for the public. >> So I am asking you to pay attention to your counsel which is telling me >> I really don't give a [ __ ] what you got to say Kentucky. >> That is totally what what is wrong with you? I caught you in something that is incorrect. >> What is wrong with me? >> I caught you in something that is completely incorrect
and you did something that you should not. >> Keep going there, Kentucky. I I got to respond to you. >> That's good. And I'll respond back. >> Keep going. >> Okay, Hargus, stop. >> Keep going. You do nothing but try to >> Don't tell me to stop. If you look, okay, politics isn't supposed to be in the school. >> You're right. And you brought it in. >> Your exact words to me were or not to me, but in the last meeting. I have never allowed politics in the school and I never will. >> And I never will. You just brought it in the door. So, I'm going to respond. >> Do me a big favor. Look at August the 18th, 2020. >> What's August 18th, 2020? >> You brought politics into the school in a
huge way. >> You want to bring polit? Look it up because it's going to be shown. So look up whatever you want. Kentucky, >> you say what you want to say to benefit you at the time, but not the people of Gallatin County. You brought politics into the school that day. >> What did I tell you? >> Look it up. >> See, let Kentucky finish. >> Let him go. Let's let Kentucky go. I've done nothing but give money to this school because that man right there and that man right there are here for the right You're not teachers. I'm saying that these two here are here for the right reason. >> Okay. Okay. And I will do everything I can to help them. >> And I'll do everything I can to help the school. >>
I will keep giving money. But I will tell you this. I'm not going to give money if Hargus Davis is the one that says yay or nay on $5,000 scholarships for the next 30 years. I'm not going to leave it. >> Run somebody against me. >> You've threatened to anyway. >> No. Harness, listen to me. Stop taking it personal. >> Oh, it ain't personal. It is 100% personal. >> No, I'm taking it I'm taking it as it should be from a from a business owner. I am a business owner that donates to this school that the school is always there with their hand out and I give it to them. >> But yet, when it doesn't benefit one certain person, it's got to stop. >> We're not supposed to give donations to benefit one person
in Kentucky. It's a benefit. >> No, I'm saying it doesn't benefit you, Harus. It doesn't benefit you. >> Nothing here I do benefits me, Kentucky. Well, then why did you stop it? >> Stop what? >> All of it. I give money every year to this man right here for his basketball program >> and that benefit >> hundreds and hundreds of dollars. I give $30,000 to the school in one year. >> Group of people. >> But guess what, Hargus? >> That wasn't mo that wasn't politically motivated. None of that ever was. >> Okay. So, you >> you say politically motivated. Did you Did you not tell me this? Now, again, did you did you not >> Can we Can we quit arguing? I mean, I'm not going to this. I get to the point sir and
I ain't going to interrupt you because I'm public comment public comments >> then the board member comment the board's going to say it there piece >> okay >> I think it's going to be more conducive to to getting some >> what is your favorite time what is your favorite I shouldn't say that >> you stated what do you love more than Christmas >> who me everybody knows politics >> okay you said that all right so that's no big >> you love politics more than Christmas >> absolutely I do >> okay so let me ask you Yes. >> I I thought we weren't doing back and forth. I mean, that includes questions. >> Yeah, it's true. I apologize. >> Oh, no. Let me ask you, that's not the way. Here's the deal. We're not going to
get any place. >> Here's the deal, Harus. All I'm trying to do is keep giving to the school. >> But you make it more and more, you know, you make it more and more difficult for anybody to support it. >> Okay? >> They come, they ask for money, I answer. They don't ask for money, I answer. I try to help the students and you stand in the way. And I'm just saying this. I know that we're we're blood relative. >> No, we ain't. But but I've been kicked out of the Davises, too. I was told that a long time ago. Guess what, Cargus? Stop standing in the way. Stop standing in the way of the students. Because the rest of this board, the majority of them, they're here for the right reason. They're not here
for control. >> Kentucky. >> No, they're not here for control. You're here for control. Stop. >> Okay. You done? >> Yes, please. >> And I'm going to say what I got to say here in just a minute. >> Okay. No. Say it now. >> Oh, no. >> Okay. >> More member comments. >> Any other public comments? Thank you for your time. >> Any other board member comment? Miss Becky? >> Board member. No, >> Mr. Hall. >> Oh, board member. I'm sorry. >> Hang on. My brain is catching up. So, yes, board member comments. So, the reading program that Mr. Arvin and I have talked about trying to get going. We have a training scheduled January 24th for about 17 parents, community people, not just parents, but community people that have volunteered to come into the
lower elementary and read with a student every week. So, we're excited about that. It's a three-hour training. We're going to have lunch and um get our program off the ground the end of the month or 1 of February. We're excited about that. Um, the Pritchard committee has a empowering parent leadership opportunity for any parents or families January the 9th, which is a Friday evening and Saturday the 10th. It's free. All food is provided. The downside is it's in Coington. But any parents or families that are interested in learning how to get involved in their child's education or get involved in school, they're a great resource and um they provide great training. So, anybody that's interested in that, I'd be glad to talk to them if they need a ride. I'd be glad to help with
that. Um I think it's on Facebook and it's on the website now. So, anyone that's interested or any principal that knows some parents that you know are trying to get involved in their child's school and maybe just not sure how. And I think that's all I have. Thank you. >> Thank you much, Becky. Manda >> to go on. Becky been doing the community reads at the lower elementary. So much fun. Boy, will those second graders humble you. So that's that's such a great program. And looking forward to Friday at the middle school for the community dinner. I think that's going to be a a really neat thing. So, I'll be there for that. >> Mr. Ashley, >> um I got to go to one of the 30 6090 meetings and I thought that was that
was really good. We hear about it, but we don't get to sit in and see how it operates. And it's good to see how, you know, they're operating with, you know, the principles [snorts] and, you know, I don't know what what's in every school, but even even taking it from one school to the other to make sure everybody's kind of teaching along the same path. It was just really good to see. >> Mr. John Jones. >> Uh, I will not be wise here. I'm going to stick my nose where I probably ought to leave it out. U, I do want from my standpoint to thank Kentucky. Uh, he has been helpful with the athletic programs, has always donated. I appreciate that. Um, it's a hard thing. Um, we've got three candidates for judge and I've
received something from all three of them for athletic programs. So, we're appreciative to all of them. And to be able to make programs work, you need the community to help us. So, I don't want us to be doing anything that makes them feel as though we don't appreciate them. So, I I would want them all to realize we appreciate him. We try to stay within the rules. Um, I talked to Mr. Arvin personally a little bit. Uh, I think as a board I think we ought to look at our copier contract >> in the elementary school. If it is to the point where when you hear complaints that teachers are having to come in on the weekends to be able to make copies because it's slowed down to the point >> Yeah. >> that we
can't utilize it during the day. >> We're in a bad contract and maybe we need to become a squeaky wheel that makes them give us a little bit of oil there somehow. Is it the copier is theirelves or is it the internet? >> No, it's the copier. I think they're getting hot and shutting down and all kinds of stuff. >> But I think it is an issue. >> Toshiba. >> I It used to be moms. Who is it with now? >> Toshiba. >> It's been two or three since mom. that I came in when Toshiba started and I think that the contract amounts were misrepresented to everyone because mom quoted um new machines that we had to get and so that was going to make their contract go up and Toshiba gave us a better
quote at the time but we are getting swamped with extra charges every month >> you know so I that I I think when I do when I did the research on it last year it didn't like we really saved that much money from what mom had quoted us. We're saving a little but not not what we were led to believe we would save. So everybody hates >> if we just made a bad money deal then maybe we got to suck it up and do it. But if we've got a deal where our teachers cannot >> make copies to be able to take care of servicing their kids. >> There's a lot of justification to get out of it. I I think at a minimum we need to look at it and see if >> I
don't I don't disagree. It's first time hearing about I mean we we seems like copier contracts every year we got an issue but I hadn't heard about uh this yet. So we can we got out all the rest of them. I'm sure we get out of this one. I mean >> somebody strange somewhere I've had three different complaints from the elementary school about >> Yeah. >> You know is there anything we can do to help him out with that? >> I'm in note here. So, I'll get with David and um >> cuz I remember I think Chuck Cash >> I think Chuck Cash was here when we did the Toshiba, right? >> First year. The immediate problem was the speed of the cop. The previous copers would spit them out and finish them and you
can hit it and be done in 10 minutes. These copers have always been it take about 40 minutes to do what you do. >> I also think part of the issue is the copers they gave us This is just from my observation and then talking to the teachers and then the text that just walk is like especially the lower I mean I've been an elementary teacher and you do make copies just the nature of the piece and those copers are not I don't think so and I've reached out to the last time hey can we look at these machines and they slow back >> like I think it was last week and I said hey can cop last >> for 140 bucks. Maybe our attorney could send him a letter. [laughter] >> I will give
David. We will do that. >> Copy your contract on my desk. >> I know Walt Solution. You write Walt Solution there. >> They buy out contracts. They do all of our stores. Um and they're give you all new equipment, maintain your equipment, cartridges. Everything is part of your deal. No above and beyond bull crap. It's called Walt Solutions and they're going to you guys write that down. That's you're the go-to people. It's all I got. >> Thank you. I'll read this in the record. It's unfortunate how some choose to take words out of context and selectly frame them to manufacture offense. That approach doesn't advance understanding or accountability. It simply diverts attention from the facts and replaces them with a narrative of victimhood. In doing so, it reveals far more about intent than about substance.
I'm going to place this on the official record clearly and completely so no one can twist my words. If I hear no objection from the board, because I am finished with the distortion, selective outrage, and political word games. First, let's address my use of the word probably since that appears to be the manufactured controversy of the evening. I did not state that an investigation existed. I did not state that one was active. I did did not file a complaint, request an investigation, or suggest that one was underway. What I said deliberately and accurately is that we probably would face scrutiny. And since definitions suddenly mattered, Mariam Webster defines probably as very likely, but not certain, not guaranteed, not active, and not initiated. That statement was based entirely on information relayed to me by multiple friends
of mine in Frankfurt after they read a public campaign announcement claiming credit for negotiating the cost and I quote of a project awarded through sealed competitive bids totaling approximately 1.8 to$2.4 million. As every as anyone familiar with procurement understands, sealed bids are not negotiated. Even a child in our district understands this. Anyone claiming any different just proves I have neither the time, construction paper, or crayons to explain it to them. That public claim alone creates the likelihood of scrutiny. I did not create the risk. I acknowledge that existed. I have stated plainly that any such inquiry would, in my opinion, be a waste of time, a waste of money, and aversion of district resources for more important needs. Recognizing risk is not accusation. Acknowledging reality, acknowledging the reality some live in is not misconduct. And
refusing to pretend otherwise is part of my responsibility as a board member. Now, let's turn to issues that does an issue that does matter, special treatment and sponsorship. When one sponsor pays the published board approved rate under a transparent structure and another sponsor pays less for the same package because they provide something of value in return that is not a discount. It's an exchange. When a private business receives a reduced sponsorship price not tied to any published rate or multipleear structure premiums on field infants access not offered to another sponsor. dual business advertising under a single banner and unapproved commercial activity connected to district events members of this board. That is preferential treatment. And when preferential treatment is tied directly or indirectly to what that business provides in return, that is a textbook definition of
a quid proquo structure. Something of value exchange for something of value. Intent does not control this analysis. Good faith does not cure it. Silence does not negate it. Appearance is the standard. This is not about personalities. This is not about business or politics. This is not about community involvement. This is about equal treatment. If one business receives a lower price, greater access, or additional privileges that are not available to every other sponsor under the same rules, then the board has failed its duties of neutrality. No crime is being alleged. No corruption is being claimed. But I will not pretend that unequal pricing, unequal access, and informal exceptions do not look exactly like what they are because that is how boards end up answering questions from auditors, attorneys, and the public. The solution is straightforward. The
same price for the same package, the same access for the same sponsors, no private commercial activity on school property without board approval and no informal deals, favors, or exceptions. Because once exceptions is defended, every exception becomes defensible until the entire program collapses under scrutiny. I am not raising this to create conflict. I am raising it to prevent it. This will not I will not apologize for recognizing risk. I will not apologize for protecting district resources and I will not apologize for insisting that our actions be ethical, defensible, and applied evenly. I will stand firm on this position. My reasoning are now documented. My duties to this district, not to any campaign, any business, or any individual. Thank you. >> I have the right to respond. >> You don't have any right. >> You have no
right to nothing. No, sir. >> I should be given the right respond. Okay. >> You You had your chance, Kentucky. >> No, Kentucky, go right ahead. I I want I want to be fair here for a little bit. I'll give you the floor for 30 minute. >> Okay. So, you're this this here where it says investigation probably getting ready to happen to you and I because of something you said. >> That is correct. >> Okay. I was notified by Frankfurt of this investigation. >> That is correct. Just like I stated in there, I put it in the public record >> on on the uh on the field. I believe you were I believe you were there when I negotiated with them in reference to >> That is correct. Kentucky here here's what you seem to
but no here's what you seem to fail to realize not one person from this board not one person on this board has took away from what you've done out there >> everyone on this board everyone on this board has stated we appreciate everything you've done but you did not negotiate a bid you cannot negotiate seal bids negotiated >> you could have put that you worked on them you 100% did you said in the construction meetings no one will take it from You cannot negotiate sealed bids. >> But I'm telling you, >> no one on this board will negotiate a sealed bids. >> Okay. >> Did you negotiate a sealed bid with the contractors? >> Nobody said no. We negotiated before the seal bid. >> Thank you. >> Before the seal bid. >> That is a
lot different than negotiating sealed beds. >> Negotiated a sealed bid. My my article did not say a sealed bid. >> Read your article, Kentucky. >> Yeah, read my article. I've got it right here. It said negotiated the seal bids. >> It does not. >> It said negotiated the bids. >> Correct. No, it says negotiated the price. >> Okay. >> For the field. >> Okay. >> That's what it said. >> How do you negotiate seal bids? >> I didn't negotiate a seal bid. >> Thank you. >> You got it $700,000 less because I negotiated and got it. >> And we appreciate that. Nobody's ever took that from you, Kentucky. >> Like I stated in the beginning, and I'm done with this conversation. Like I stated in the beginning, >> words matter. your superintendent. >> We're done.
Kentucky. Moving on from board member comments. School staff reports. Miss Brianna Griffin. >> Um earlier this month, our FFA chapter, we took a team of four members down to University of Kentucky to compete in the agricultural sales competition. Um we haven't done that contest in over 10 years. And we actually placed second in the region. So, we were we were kind of shocked by that. Um and then our the band we had our concert combined with the middle school uh last Wednesday and the auditorium was full. Um some people were standing like there was no open seats. We were very very happy with that. Had a great turnout. Educators rising had their regional competition day a few weeks ago. They said everyone did really well. Um some of them wrote children's books and a lot
of the judges said that they would buy them for their kids. So that's always a good thing to hear. Uh, Winter Guard said that they're preparing for their upcoming competition season after winter break. And then the cheer has been super busy supporting the boys and girls basketball and they're preparing for their competition in late late January. And that's all I got. >> Someone has been singing. >> Yes, I have. >> Yes. Awesome. [laughter] People love it. >> Very good on the band. >> She's got a pretty good set of pipes, too. >> Yeah, she sure does. >> She does She does a mean anthem. Yes. >> Great. Great report. >> Yeah. >> And I do want to apologize this board tonight, but I've had enough. Item 6B, enrollment attendance report. Right. Attendance is you can
see by the report there, it's pretty stagnant compared to where it was last month. That's a good thing. Up one kiddo. Um attendance percentage is still pretty high comp um for the year. Still about a percentage or so higher than last year. Little bit deeper analysis into that data. Last year at this time, halfway through the school year, we had had a file on 12 for truency with the county attorney. It's down to five right now. So almost 60% decrease. So I know you asked for those numbers at the beginning of the year. That's that's definitely an improvement um compared to this time last year. So all around attendance was pretty good so far this year. Hopefully we can continue trending in that right direction. >> So the calendar I know it's too early to
really get into that very deep, but we've missed three days. Is that right? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Okay. Yeah. Not even to January yet. So, >> right, it was a busy December. >> Yeah. Okay, great. >> Moving on. CEO report. Mr. Jury, >> that's your lucky quarter or something. >> That's a washer. Actually, [laughter] >> I use it for my dude washer. >> There's no telling what's about to break. >> He told he's got a washer. [laughter] Also, >> yeah, >> it's like a fidget stone. He said, "You got to have one." >> Oh, okay. >> Yeah. Um, what was I thinking? [laughter] >> Appreciate um, Miss Ashley attending that 30 6090 because it's it's hard to to say what that's all about. It's one of those things you almost have to be there uh
to experience it. And we are trying to tie the district from the top to the bottom. Tie it all together. Um, in uh in January, we're going to have principles attend the 306090s of the other schools so that they can see because each one looks it's it it's the same, but it's different. And um so I think it'll be eye opening for the principles. Um we're we're into our second window of I Ready testing. Um, you know, KSA data just came out and we show great improvement. Um, still have a long way to go and I think I think some buildings are starting to realize that we had a big jump last year and maintaining that is is taking a lot of work. It's going to take a lot of work to main to maintain
to keep the momentum going. It's it's it's really going to require a a super focus on what we're doing. um teaching the reading and the math and and taking the kids to the next level. Um moving all the kids out that novice into the apprentice and proficient. Um and that reality is starting to sink in. We had to we had to wait until what November to get those results. Um and so we were excited. Uh but for a short time because we've got more assessment data coming out showing that oh boy, you know, we want to we want to continue that. Uh so it's it's going to take some intentionality. Um we are implementing the new HQIRS and and that that takes a while. Um on the the consent agenda, you'll see the CIPS from
the schools and also the the advanced coursework policies. If you have any questions about that, of course, you can always send me email, call or ask questions anytime. But each school has tailored those policies on what they can do, what's practical for them to service those kids with advanced coursework. >> And this is January. This starts January. >> It school boards were required to have a plan by December. Okay. >> Yeah. And >> basically, we're already doing most of that work. Okay. >> Um the the legislation just says we had to have it in writing. And um it does make us really um be intentional about making sure no kids slip through without being challenged. You know, some of our gifted and some of our ones that are scoring proficient, we want to make sure
we're challenging those kids. So, I think that was the spirit of the legislation. >> That's it. Thank you'all. >> Thank you. >> Excuse me. Everybody get a chance to look over to SBDM. >> Superend. I had him checked off already. Superintendent report. Mr. David Ar. >> Um, so just a couple things briefly. I was going to mention the holiday lunchon on Friday at the upper middle school that Mrs. Dunovet mentioned. So that's from 11:00 to 12:30 if anybody is available. Uh, before the board meeting, Miss Bishop and I had a chance to pop over to the high school auditorium. Uh, and uh, our students were participating in a 4 Christmas play, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. So they had students from the upper, the middle, and the high school all helping do that. It was
about 20 25 minutes, but was a very cute cute play. Uh, and then just a shout out to uh Michelle at the bus garage, all the drivers, all the maintenance staff, custodians, anybody that has been helping uh with, you know, the snow removal and just everything going on to try and make sure that the parking lots uh in the campus is ready for school. Uh I know Mr. Bushman and I talk quite often and I look at the Weather Channel app more than I care to. Uh, but you know, just um, shout out to them, all the people with, you know, the county and the state that have been very helpful to us and then a lot of you guys that I call as well just to kind of check and see how things look
on your neck of the woods before we end up making those decisions. So, thank you guys. >> Moving on to 6Edm agenda minutes. Everybody get a chance to look at them? >> Yes. >> Everybody get a chance to look at HR actions? >> Uh consent agenda. Uh I need a motion to approve. >> Make a motion. >> Mr. John Jones moves. >> Second. >> Miss Ashley seconds. On discussion. I didn't go back and look. Did we get the access change to excess? I don't know if I changed the letter on it, but we can make that modification before we officially >> I appreciate that. What I'm talking about on the >> Yeah, >> things they submitted for the fundraisers instead of them putting the excess in the accounts, they asked for the access to them.
>> There's an A instead of an E on the front of some. Joey, I I'll get with you and show you. I mean, I I appreciate him raising money and stuff, but I don't know if I want to give John access to $5,000. [laughter] >> It wasn't yours. >> Uh, I moved to We got a All right, we'll do it this way. Go ahead and approve that. Just make sure we get that changed. >> I'll get this. I was going to amend that, but I'm not going to. All in favor signify say I. >> All post same sign. 5 recommended action new business overview that open review bids for surplus workout equipment. >> We received none. >> Thank you. >> Shocking. >> Uh we're going to advertise them again. So, you know, we we can
do that or if you would like me to just kind of make some phone calls, uh maybe call some, you know, workout facilities throughout Northern Kentucky, see if anybody would have any interest, see what they'd be willing to give us, and then communicate that information to you guys via email to see if you're good with uh you know, letting it go for whatever price is offered. >> Yeah. Can we throw them on marketplace also? >> Well, I mean, maybe. I don't know. Could Could we make a list of everything we got and send it to our staff? See if anybody on staff wanted to I mean, >> yeah, >> if somebody's going to steal it >> treadmill every day, >> why not why not have our own people if a good deals if a good
deal is going to be out there, why not let some of our staff get a good deal? >> It's been on the website, but >> John, he's been using that bike every day. So, [laughter] >> those forklifts is my problem. >> I I'm surprised. I mean, if you put bed Did you do a piece meal? Like each piece you could put in a bid on each piece. >> I'm surprised they stabbed them bid, you know, if I wanted a bench or something, bid a dollar on it. >> I think within the district, I think enough people would buy most of this stuff. A treadmill or if they knew everything was there. >> They put out. >> Is that something we would be allowed to bid on? >> Yeah. Yeah. I mean, still bid. You can
bid on that, but I'd put it out. I mean, put that for maybe put out for bid for again and advertise. >> I'm not going to work out, Argus. You can go ahead and make the joke. [laughter] >> Look, go b a dollar. He'll have to move that equipment around to clean. >> Need something to hang my my coat on. >> You want to do that? Well, >> if you do that, I do it still bids and then, you know, open them next time. Okay, you got a dollar, it's yours. You know, you got a dollar, I bid $2. >> You just want to get rid of at this point anyway, don't you? >> It's whatever you guys tell me to do. >> Offer to staff. Just put a thing out to the staff. I
>> say put it out there and if if somebody's going to get a good deal on us, let's let our people get a good deal off us. >> What I think >> Well, what are we doing for so we're clear? Are we giving it to them or what? No, they got to make a I'll come up with come up with a date, send it out, you know, give me a >> Yeah, they submit a bid for >> We will take the best offer we get. We wanted to give it to you all first so that you have an opportunity to >> Is it still fits? Is that the motion? >> I think [laughter] it would. >> Yeah. >> Um% functional. I'm assuming we the >> the vast majority of it if something doesn't work on
it, it's noted on the picture. >> Okay. um you know if it's missing a pedal or you know anything like that >> like where I wore the belt out on the treadmill. >> Yeah, I I hear you. >> Move it on to item 8B. Review approved board meeting dates for 2026. Everybody get >> Do we have a motion and second on that? >> I don't think there's anything. >> There was nothing to motion or second or approve. >> Well, I mean you're telling them to do it again. I mean I was just directing. >> Okay. Okay. I'm good with it. >> Holding our meeting up. the uh review board meeting dates for 2026. Everybody get a chance to look at them? >> And uh Miss Becky, was you going to add any working sessions in
there for like we did prior? >> Looks like July 7th is on there for the board retreat. >> Okay. Was that the only one you was going to do? >> Well, and this is honestly I [clears throat] mean normally we do our retreats on a Saturday. Do we you know we could do it on at five o'clock? I assume that's a weekday. >> That's why I asked what I did. Yeah. >> Now, >> um I mean it's pleasure of the board. Whatever everybody wants to do. I would prefer a Saturday. Uh but you know, it it's fine the way it is. Maybe we move it or, you know, I don't know. >> So, some of those that have the asterisks by them are ones that in looking at last year that we had canceled beforehand.
>> I see. because fall break and spring break obviously and if we were going to do a board retreat in July, we didn't do two uh meetings and a retreat, >> right? >> So, just looking at Saturdays and again, just also selfishly thinking about when I'm going to be here. Um, you know, you're probably looking at maybe the 11th or the 18th >> of July >> for the board retreat potentially. um you know and again I know we'd be having another meeting on the 21st but at the same time that would be different things that we be covering and doing those different things. So just throwing some of that out there and then also potential for the board meeting the first one in January. I can't think of anything you know much that would be
on that. We'll come back for a day. So that's another potential one that we might not have to have on there as well. So, you're you're suggesting not having the spring break or the board member or the one highlighted for board member retreat or fall break. Correct. >> Because we're not going to be here, >> correct? [snorts] >> And the first one, January. >> And the first one in January. >> Okay. Yeah. So, admitting those four. >> So, we're taking out I mean, we we got to know they're going to be regular meetings, not we're taking out that one. We're taking out the spring break one, the board member retreat one, and the fall break one. So, we're scratching those off the list. >> Yes. >> Yeah. And then we can always set a special
meeting for >> retreat. Okay. >> In July. >> Scratch those four off the list. I guess >> I so move to approve with the changes. >> Second. >> John second. All in favor? >> I. >> Same sign. Oppose. 50 carries. Item 6B1 approve English certified high school >> emergency. >> Excuse me. Approve emergency certified high school math teacher and abolish the temporary and instructional aid. >> I move to approve. >> Second. >> Amanda John. Same rate been since 23. >> Question would be why is it the same rate? >> Yeah. Ruth asked Jim that. He's like [laughter] he's like why have you He's like I don't know. He said it probably will next year. Next year will be five years. That'll be fair. >> I'd make a motion to do that. >> I want to amend I think it's too much. I I'd like to amend that. take it to 150 at least same as we make. >> No, no, you don't. I mean, we asked for 140. I'll pay us more than we asked for. You're a government entity. >> 140 is fine. [laughter]
>> Leave me Jake. >> I appreciate the sentiment. It is, >> but yeah, we tomorrow next year be fifth year. >> I'll second. All favor signify saying I. >> I. Plus, we get a Christmas card every year. >> That's right. That's something. >> Why' you spill the beans? Those of us who don't agitate [laughter] >> review approve first reading of policy 0461 gifts and donations as we seen in the original policy I emailed you all we were supposed to be getting a report once a year we was not getting that report the and all Jake done was cleaned it up added to it to where >> I I did this based off of I did this based off not to cut you off but off of what it sounded like I was directed to or
asked to do asked to do I guess better suggestion. But if you approve a fundraiser, you know, that's not going to require any additional approval to accept the money. But if it's a straight up donation, so it's not tied to fundraiser, it is going to require your approval regardless of the value. That's what we I try to do here. Um, >> you ask about >> and grants. And we put the grants on here. Yes. Any grant applications of any kind, whether it's matching grant or not a matching grant, must be approved for prior to being applied for. >> All right, looks good to me. I'll move. >> I'll second. >> Mr. Becky, Mr. Jones second it. All in favor signify by saying I. >> I oppose. Same sign. 5. >> Election of board election of
board member officers for 2026. >> Make a motion we run with it. the ones we got right now which is carry forward for the next year. >> John so moves >> second. >> Miss Becky seconds. All in favor signify by saying I. >> All post same sign 50 on items 1 through five. >> Told you get here early. >> H enter into executive session for KRS 61.810 subsection J for the purpose of preliminary discussion of the superintendent's evaluation. I'll so move on this one. >> Second. >> Mr. landing a second this one. >> All in favor? >> I opposed. >> We are in close session.
