001Okay, we're now going to call the Baltimore County School Board Nominating Commission back into open session. It is 9:51. Um, the first order of business is the approval of the open session minutes from March 23rd, 2026 when we were back at Catonsville High School. Um, we've had time to review those minutes. Does anyone want to make a motion to pass them? Is there a second? Second. Okay, Kelly. All in favor? Aye. All opposed? They pass. Okay, I want to thank the um, commission. I want to thank all the candidates. We've had a very robust discussion tonight. It's all been recorded. So, we've had a very robust discussion. I think everyone brought up a ton of valid points. I want to thank all nine candidates that applied for the two open positions, the one in District
0021 and the one in the at-large position. I can announce that we, this commission, will be sending to the governor in the at-large district three names. They are Dr. Jason Knoll, Kathleen Cernic, and Alltree Storton. All three of those names will be sent to the governor. In District 1, Mr. Fitzpatrick was not able to get the necessary 2/3 vote. So, the District 1 seat will remain vacant. I want to thank this commission. I I mean this a lot. You guys have It's been awesome. It's been We've We were brought into this late. We had to re- put everything back together. I think we've had great discussion. I think everybody has articulated their views perfectly. I think everyone got an opportunity to have their say. And I think we've sent three really qualified candidates to Governor
003Moore to be the next member of the Baltimore County School Board. So, I just want to and in closing I want to say one other thing, too. Not going to preach, but I would like the current Baltimore County School Board to watch the deliberation tonight. We're doing this for the kids. We're not doing it for ourselves. And I am so proud of this group of people that there were some emotional discussions, there were some strong feelings on different candidates, but everyone handled it professionally and handled the way we should be proud of as adults. Sometimes our school board acts more like the kids and maybe sometimes we're better off if the kids were running things. But, um I just wanted to say that. I just hope we can these picks, whoever the governor selects, can
004bring some more acrimony to the school board and we can start stop polarizing ourselves and start getting things done for the kids of Baltimore County. So, thank you all very much.
