United States of America to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Moving on, we will approve June claims. Do we need to give you authority to play pay July? >> I think you guys might want to meet in July with the new admin. Are you thinking? >> Yeah, we probably do. >> So, we won't do that then. We'll wait. Okay. So, approval of claims. Did everyone have a chance to look at the claims? >> The only question I had is the Kevla was our superintendent search. Is that correct? I >> correct. Yeah. >> Sorry. >> So, it was under what she >> Yeah. under what she kind of quoted us initially, which is great, >> which is really rare. >> And the names that

are on there that are kind of different, those are the those are our TR the TR4s that we have to pay out. Okay. Yeah. >> So, Brett, just to give you a heads up, each year we have to pay um or I guess the board elects to pay people in Elk Park transportation. >> So, the TR board of transportation contracts for the year instead of providing a bus for them. >> Oh, yeah. >> It's a >> So, anything outside of three miles, we're supposed to provide a bus and if we don't, then we do the TS4s. >> They're they're in our school district. >> Yeah. >> So, it it's just cheaper to go into that contract with the parent than it is to provide a bus that goes up there and bring them back to

board. >> Okay. Is there anywhere else where we have that? >> No, I think that's the only one. >> That's the only one. >> Yeah. >> And most of them choose to go to be district setting because it's close to Port Ven. >> Okay. >> So, just to give you a heads up on that. >> Okay. But >> yeah, >> um if there's any other questions or I will accept a motion to approve June 2026 claims. >> I make a motion to approve June 2026. I say >> all in favor. >> Motion carries. Sorry, De I jumped in without you. >> You're okay. >> Um and then the Payroll review is the main view of payroll. This is a non- action item. So, it's just review. If you have any questions, you can ask them

now. Moving on, the approval of the previous month minutes. Did anyone have any changes or suggest suggested changes to them? Okay, I'll accept a motion to approve the minutes for the May 2026 regular board meeting. >> I'll make a motion to approve the minutes for the May 2026 regular board meeting. >> Second. >> All in favor? >> Motion carries. And next on the agenda is the student activities ledger. Not all should be closed out, right, for the year. >> Yeah, I'll probably have some maybe more deposits for school foods and then I'll kick all those out. So it'll it'll be July be a lot less. So I'll transfer that to food. Any other questions on there? Okay, I'll accept a motion to approve the student activities ledger for June as presented. >> I'll make a

motion to approve June activities. >> Second. >> All in favor? >> Motion carries. Moving on to the budget versus actual. This is also just a review, so a non-action item. Looks like we're sitting pretty good. >> So, we're we're at a balance of about 85 86,000 right now. And we have um the science curriculum hasn't been purchased yet. And so, we also have what is the rural ed money. We still have 17,000 that we're going to have to spend it by >> December, next December. So, I might >> recommend taking depending on where we're at at the end. If not, we'll just push it forward. Yeah. But >> you can use that for the curriculum. >> Yes. Yep. >> But I think we're going to be okay. I think we should be where we're at

down to very close zero. So >> I have a small payroll to do the normal June payroll for those of us who work for the summer and then the June 30 payroll to close out. But those won't be we figured >> 25. Yeah. >> Finish that up. But we did I mean the budget ended up being good because we got some things straightened out with the super tense not being taken out of transportation because it pretty much it was all of it. And then the same thing with um the principal position and then the um yeah them two we got t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t t

t t t t t taken out. So it was >> And we didn't really spend out of technology this year or building reserve. >> We're going to have to roll. >> Yes. roll. >> Yeah. And the and the tuition fund also rolls over. Um >> and that one we get that 35,000 levy every year. >> Yep. So >> sitting pretty good. >> Okay. The moving on. The board welcomes and encourages public comment. The board may the amount of time if for the comment if they become extensive if the speaker begins to infringe on the right of privacy of another board may interrupt and end comments on that issue. Even if the comments are entirely appropriate, the board will take no action on them at this meeting. To ensure others that want to address the same

issue have the opportunity to do so, the item may be placed on the agenda at a later meeting. Um, are there any letters to the board? >> No. >> Okay. Student issues? >> No. >> Okay. Commendations and recognitions. >> No. >> Okay. There's no unfinished business. I don't think any committees met. >> No. >> Oh, sorry. >> We still got further discussions to get to get >> and that was handbook and policy. Correct. Okay. Oh, perfect. So, that's on the agenda for later. [clears throat] >> Okay. And then Brent will probably set up a meeting for facilities in the future. Um, and transportation will be a July meeting, Brett, and that'll come through Sarah. And I'll forward that in you. Yeah. I might make sure she has your email. >> Yeah. At that meeting, the

transportation all the county schools meet and and then they meet with the county the >> Yeah, they meet over here, but they go over the bus routes and if there's any changes, they have to be approved at that meeting. >> The county superintendent and then all the school representives, >> right? And then the county commissioner. >> Yep. Yep. >> And we don't foresee any changes right now. So, >> um, superintendent and principal report. >> Um, I just have a few things. Uh, I met with Dave today, Dave Desk, and F and we were talking about moving the title one room down to the elementary where the paras are right now. And the thought behind that was one that most the students that are serviced are the lower elementary. So it would be ideal but it

also by moving that pair getting it ready for a title room if you later determined to have another first grade depending on what the numbers show up. That would be the first grade room down there where the pairs are at. So he wants to be able to get it ready for a classroom either the title room or >> is that at the end by the lockers by the doors that >> it's right. >> Okay. >> So it's right there. >> So if it happens with the numbers stay up or if they drop off and you know you'll decide that when you go forward. >> And will pairs be moving down here then just flip-flopping? >> Actually yeah they'll be the pairs aren't in there very much. They shouldn't be if they have to work with

students, they're in there, but they could use this room or that room >> to do that. And then that room can be open because I know they do art and it's >> Oh, as you can see, a lot of our chairs, >> right? >> Yeah. So, we could set that up just as a another room for that. But most of title students that are serviced are elementary grade. So, it had actually put the title one teacher who was Quinn down amongst the other teachers, >> the co- teachers that she needs to be. Okay. >> Um, what else did I have? >> And he'll have that ready by August. >> Yeah, he's actually cleaning it out right now. So, to get it done because he he's cleaning this one and wanted to know if he could

make the make the change. So other than that, everything is is uh the finances are good. Um, I talked to Britain about if we do add another first grade position, some of the options because we I don't think the elementary teachers would like not having a title, but if we can't find one at first grade, then we'd have to I think Quinn would gladly go into first grade and then we would do title like we did before just splitting it between the teachers. Um, >> and that would be like the wind group type title where they do the what I need or whatever. Yeah. >> Where they pull them out and do >> Yeah. What I think before the Paris did most of the pull-ups. >> Um, but having a title teacher is huge for

the kids that are, you know, not special ed but struggle and it it really has helped. So that's just something to look for, you know, look at when we get our numbers for the first grade to see what see what they're going to be. >> Where are we at for kindergarten next year? >> I think 18 20 18 I think 18 >> 20 we say. >> Yeah. right now at first grade >> and that was our kindergarten last year was >> in 20 or 17 [clears throat] >> and it's 26 the max >> well 20 is a max for K through two >> or prek2 um and if you have you have to have a parent in the room full-time for every so many students so if it if we're at 26 six, I would

strongly suggest going with another first grade. Um, it's a lot in one room and then you add a pair and maybe two pairs at times. It would be a real >> So, is that maybe something that we should leave >> agenda and that would be something for um >> Eric and Tyson to um so it's just something to look ahead if that possibility would were going to be set up for it. So, and then I talked to Britain about the title one funding and what we could do with that. So, the budget would be fine doing that. It would still be in good shape. So, and I have the budget done for next year. Um, next week or one of the days before I I'm done, I will go over everything with Britain. Um and

then you can look at it in August when you do the budget. Our our general budget funds already set. Um it's just the other ones. And we also talked about our transportation budget depending on what diesel does. You can adjust that at the our August transportation meeting or the August >> budget meeting. Yeah. >> So I just keep an eye on that. [clears throat] >> Go ahead. >> Excuse me. So So back to the splitting that first rate. So if you split, so we're looking at 26 kids. >> So if you were to split that, does each teacher still get a pair? >> No. They'd be down to 13, which is Yeah. >> Okay. >> No, they don't need a pair. Then 13 to 15 actually is a good number for that grade for actually

K through two. Um, >> it's a lot of work, especially the younger ones. >> Yeah, for sure. >> You know, when you're still help having to help put coats on and stuff for recess, it's >> it's really a chore. >> Just cuz I was there. So, do we already have the number of teachers to car? So right now before I came here we didn't have a title one teacher and I really recommended and we had money to do a title one teachers because it's paid out of a grant the title title one grant. So what was done before is that they took that title one grant money and paid what three teachers >> y >> three different teachers partial [clears throat] salaries and they were covered in the title one program. Mhm. >> So if

cuz Quinn man is going to be our title one teacher next year. If we can't find if it gets too late and can't find one, we could go back to the old way and take our title money and fund three different teachers for our title program and it would open up money in our general fund to pay for the first grade teachers. So it it would it would work out. >> Watch yourself. So would move into a first rate position paid under the general fund and then the title would be backed as everyone kind of putting the work, >> right? >> Okay. >> Yep. So it it's just how where the funding comes from >> is was going to be the issue, >> right? >> Um >> and I think the title program has been

great this year. >> I think that taking away the title program, you might get a little uproar from the elementary because they the elementary teachers really like it just because they could pull out and and Cody was phenomenal, too. So I mean it was >> well because that title teacher also does all their their testing too. >> Yeah. >> So it it really helps those classroom teachers too. >> But you know if it comes down to it budget wise it would work out that we could move Quinn and like I said I haven't talked to Quinn or you'll have to talk to Quinn um because she is hired as our title one teacher. So, >> okay. And no principal report? >> No. >> Okay. >> He finished finished last week. I gave him a few

things that he had to get done before he left and he had them done Wednesday, Thursday. So, >> okay. >> And in July, we'll have the new principal in Yep. >> If the principal's contract doesn't start till August. >> Okay. >> Um, that's true. Yeah, that's true. But he, you know, you can invite him and say if he wants to come. >> He said he's going to come here on the 24th kind of get a lay of the land and he'll probably I'm >> just after visiting with him, he'll probably show up. >> I'm guessing >> in July. >> Yeah. >> And especially meet with with new superintendent to >> so they can start July 1, correct? >> Yeah, the superintendent does Okay, moving on. We have personnel. We have an substitute application. I totally

just did not. She's a current employee of 21st century. I did not bring her application. I apologize for I can go back and grab it. >> She was hired though as 21st centur. >> Yeah. >> So, she passed all the background. >> Yep. Yep. Okay. And fingerprints and all the fun stuff. Does anyone have any questions on this item? Okay. I accept the motion to approve Emma Bowen. Is that how you say it? >> Substitute teacher for the 2026 2027 school year. I'll make a motion to approve panel ben for a substitute teacher for 2026 school year. I'll second all in favor. Motion carries. Moving on, we have um an extended school year contract. I believe we had this last year as well. Correct. Yes, we did. Um, we had a student that the is

it IEP or 504? >> Yep. >> Requires school in the summer. >> So, we have a PAR that's paid by that IEP funds to work with them in the summer. [clears throat] >> Um, for is it eight weeks? >> Five. >> Yep. She's going to run the same schedule as Cassie runs for her program. Um, and then we have Julie Workman is who did it last year and she will do it again this year. >> Yeah. >> Does anyone have any questions? >> Okay. I will make accept a motion to approve Julie Workman for the summer school par profofessional position. >> Make a motion to approve Julie Workman for the summer school par professional. I'll say >> all in favor. Motion carries. Moving on to the fifth grade position. We had Kira. Is that how

you say? >> I think so. >> Um interview by >> uh the teachers and uh Mr. Jameson interviewed. So um yeah, there was two teachers. >> No, Miss Craft, Miss Shavers. >> Shavers. >> Was Miss Reader on that one, too? I don't I don't No, she was Yeah. Um the third and fifth grade teachers, >> the fourth third and fourth grade teachers >> sat in on the interview with the fifth grade teachers because they work as a group in the school. Their learning group is third three, four, five. So, >> that's not something that we usually participate. >> No, not not teacher interviews. No. Um really the only uh things the board does is actually the administration. The board hires an administration to >> and really the superintendent in Britain is all we >> see.

Right. >> Yeah. And then like I said, board that's the board hires the administration to advertise for teachers, interview teachers, and then uh present the ones they chose to the board. >> So if there's no other questions, I'll accept a motion to approve Kira for the 2026 2027 fifth grade teaching position. Make a motion to approve for the 2026 2027th grade position. >> All in favor? >> Motion carries. Moving on to non-resident student acceptance. We have >> there was no new students um that were out of district. These are all students that have been they were enrolled. >> Yes. >> This previous little the last >> one. Yeah. >> Oh, zero. >> The the to fill out the form for an out of district, we required it or we moved it to May 1st, >>

right? >> so all these people apply by May 1st, but >> yes, >> new people applying, >> right? If somebody new, you don't if out of district, you don't even have to consider them if you don't want to because it's ours is made first, but if you want to consider them, you can. >> And then they board, correct? >> Yes. And then the super they would Yeah. And Britain usually is the one that or no Tony gets them >> and then she >> brings it. Y >> Okay. Okay. Any other questions on this? >> Okay. I'll accept a motion to approve the added district students listed above for the 2026 2027 school year. >> A motion to approve the district students listed for the 2026 2027 school year. Second. >> All in favor? Okay. And

we actually do have some liquidation. >> Yeah, I got some >> I got a stack of Chromebooks up there that have been >> um they're no longer workable. And I am going to talk to Cole about getting more. He knows a place where he can get some. And I would like to get 20 of them and we'll just take that out of our technology fund. Probably run, I don't know, 4,000, something like that. So we >> out of the 2025 2026 budget or >> with the the technology fund because right now we have we have 35,000 in the technology right now and we add another 20. >> Okay. >> For the upcoming year so it'll be around 55. Yeah. >> But I I've talked to him already and um that can be done anytime before

school because the technology fund is rolls over. Any other questions? >> Accept a motion to discard the Chromebooks that are damaged and not usable. >> Make a motion to discard Chrome books that are damaged and not second. >> All in favor? >> Motion carries. Um policy updates. That's just a standing item. >> Yeah. Um I I just put the suggested for the handbooks there's for the student handbook book there's only really no the staff handbook the only thing that really is changing and I didn't print it out is the names like superintendent >> and you know the classroom teachers the student handbook what you see we are required to have a statement about title nine in there and that's what I handed you and that will go in on page 37 of the handbook and

And um like the title N coordinator has to be also put in there as as well as a 504. So um when that is decided and you could that doesn't really have to be decided until the new administration comes here and then they could put that in. But you just have to have that. So that's the only changes that I had for the them two handbooks. And we need to approve it correct on the first. >> This is the first reading. Any anything to do with the handbook is considered policy. So it takes two board meetings. So you do a first reading and then if you have any changes that you want that you make, you can do it in between and do it a second reading on the in July. And you like to

get them done by July because Tonnie gets them together and gets them printed and it gives her enough time to get everything done. >> Does anyone have any questions on the wording or anything? >> Okay. I will accept a motion to approve the handbook statement as presented for the first reading. >> I'll make a motion to approve the book >> state for the first reading. >> A second. >> All in favor? >> Motion carries. Moving on to the clerk's contracts or business manager. I guess I like that word better. >> I always I always refer to it as a business manager because that's what they are. [laughter] Um Britain. >> Yes. Let you take this over. Tell us what you >> Or do you want to go Deon? >> Okay. increase. So that essentially insurance

would So forgo the full single and yeah as a salary. >> Yeah [snorts] the superintendent is actually doing that too. Yeah. >> It wouldn't have any effect on the budget. Yeah. Yeah. Any other questions? >> Okay, I'll accept a motion to approve the business manager contract for the 2026 2027 school year with the whole single insurance plan being added to your salary. >> Right. Make a motion to approve the 2026 2027 business manage contract including the full single insurance being added to the sal. >> All in favor? >> Motion carries. Um, and these were the names that were on the claims just so we are kind of aware of the four families that are in Al Park that have transportation contracts. >> Correct. >> Um, >> two of them we do share with the high

school. So, it's not as >> much. Yeah. Okay. >> So, are there any other questions on those? If not, I'll accept a motion to approve the TR4 contracts for the 2026 2027 school year as presented. >> I'll make a motion to approve the TR4 contracts for 2026 2027 school year as presented. >> Second. >> All in favor? >> I. >> Motion carries. Um, we just went through the handbook first reading, correct? >> Okay. Um now moving on to the 2026 2027 contracts for our class >> certified and classified. So the the the negotiation was agreed upon after our last board meeting and it was agreed upon to do a 3% on the base and um offer full single insurance. It's about the same. We had to go at least 3% on the base to get

our star money which is around 50 55,000 from the state. So by we would have had to do at least 2 and a half% and the committee agreed to a 3%. >> Which is pretty standard from what we've done for the last >> Yes. couple years I've been on it. >> Yes. Um and the Yeah, it's I already have it budgeted in. It works. All right. So, so and that and then we actually only have two classified people in the union and I talked with Mr. Duskins who's their union president and said a 3% on the base for the classified works for them. So, >> because they didn't come with a letter or anything. >> No. >> Ahead of time, right? >> No. And the 3% for the classified isn't near what 3% for certified,

right? >> Just because their salaries are so much lower. >> So, any other questions on this? Okay. We have to do two separate motions, correct? >> You could do two two separate. Yeah. So I will accept a motion to approve a 3% increase on the salary base and a full single insurance for the certified staffs 2026 2027 contracts. >> I'll make a motion to approve a 3% increase on the salary base and a full single insurance for certified staff 2026 2027 contracts. Second. >> All in favor? >> I motion carries. And now I I will accept a motion to approve a 3% increase on the base rates for the 2026 2027 classified employees contracts. Make a motion to approve a 3% increase on the base rates for the 2026 2027. Second. >> All in favor?

>> I motion carries. In agenda item eight, the high school was going to have a representative here to kind of tell us their side of the story. Um, >> they are not able to be here. So, they've asked if we could table it until July or August, whatever >> y >> works for us. >> So, we will table that. Our meeting is adjourned because of 601. Do we have any items we need to add? >> No. Oh, besides this and then the >> the readings >> second readings. >> Yeah. >> Is they approved the science cook? >> Yes. >> If we had >> that was approved that was approved in May. >> So, thanks. >> Yeah. Thanks, Deon. >> Bye.
