We are going to start our meeting with the consent agenda. So, the approval of claims for February 2026. >> I emailed them later. I don't know. I couldn't get on them at home, but >> did everyone get a chance to read the email you sent? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Is there any questions on there? >> I will accept the motion to approve March 2026 claims. >> I make a motion to approve March 2026 claims. Second motion. All in favor? >> I passes. Um, we're going to review the 2026 February 2026 payroll. And it is a review item, no action. So, if there's any questions, feel free to ask. Any questions on those? Okay, moving along to the previous month's minutes. Did you all get a chance to read those as well before? >> Yes. >>

Any questions or changes you guys would like to see? I'll accept a motion to approve the minutes for February 2026 regular board meeting. >> I make the motion to approve the February 2026 minutes. >> Second a motion. All in favor? >> Motion carries. The student activities lender Britain handed out to us earlier. Everyone should have a packet. You have any questions on those? No. >> Okay. I will accept a motion to approve the student activities ledger as presented for March 2026. >> Make a motion to approve the student activities ledger for March 2026 as presented. >> All in favor? >> February. >> We need a second. >> I'll second. >> Okay. All in favor? >> I. >> Motion carries. Um the budget versus actual is just a review item as well. So if you have

any questions, you can ask them. Okay, any questions on that? >> No. >> Moving along. Um, we are now to the public comment. The board welcomes and encourages public comment. Anyone wishing to address the board is encouraged to do so with these stipulations. The board may limit the amount of time for comment if they become extensive. If the speaker begins to infringe on the right of privacy of another, the board may interrupt and end the comments on that issue. Even if the comments are entirely appropriate, the board will take no action on them at this meeting to ensure that the others who want to address the same issue have the opportunity to do so. So, the item may be placed on the agenda at a later meeting. Comments on personnel and performance will not be

allowed during this time either. So this is where I open it up to does anyone have any issues that they'd like to speak that are not personnel or performance related. >> Just question about uh why we don't follow school policy in the handbook. It's not the fault. >> My child was slapped across the face to where hours later she had still had severe swelling. >> That would have to be at a different >> that's probably like a performance type issue. So, we won't be addressing that now, but thank you for your comment. >> Yep. >> And that could be put on an agenda item at a if you just let me know, I can put it on agenda >> because I I've already emailed you like three weeks ago. >> She's not the only one.

I'm still waiting on a report from Mr. Jameson on my daughter. >> Yeah, I I honestly don't I get a lot of emails, but I usually don't miss that. But I will take a look. Okay. >> Anyone else? >> Is there going to be a portion of the meeting where personnel issues are addressed or how does that work? >> Can I would you like to speak to that? Yeah, that'd be fine. >> Uh anytime personnel performance is is discussed, it cannot be in a public setting. Okay. It can be a private setting. In other words, if you have an issue, the board can't go in executive session where it's just you and the board and whoever it is against, but that person has a right to be there. So, if it's somebody not at the

meeting, it can't happen. Okay. But it can't be everybody leaves except for the board, whoever has the the concern and the party involved. >> And that can be done today. Correct. >> That can be done today. If it's with an agenda item that we have, then it can be done today. Out of curiosity, um last meeting that I remember being at, it was talked about um personnel and performance. Um and I don't remember it being on the agenda. And maybe I'm wrong, >> but I'm just curious if >> Yeah, I I don't if anytime performance it's always if it deals with some individual, it has to be put on on the meeting. >> It has to be >> So it has to be on the agenda. >> Yes. >> Yep. >> Okay. But if it's

on the agenda, >> do you have to wait till then? >> You have to wait till then. Yes. >> Yeah. >> If there's no public comment, if it's an agenda item because you're addressing that agenda item. >> Okay. Moving right along. Um, we're going to go to letters to the board. We received a resignation letter from Mrs. Hansen, our fourth grade teacher, >> unfortunately. And at this time is where we accept her resignation letter. So I will accept a motion to approve Caitlyn Hans Hansen's resignation effective at the end of the school year. >> I make a motion to accept Kaitlyn Lyn Hansen's resignation letter effective at the end of school year. Second. All >> in favor? Motion carries. Are there any other letters or student issues at this time? Okay. Commendations and recognitions. Okay.

Unfinished business. There's also none. Committees. I believe the only one that's met so far is Lance and I and that was to go over agenda items. >> Yeah. And I will have information. There are some policy updates. Um, I will send them to the policy committee that we can look at before the next meeting and then have our first first reading at the April meeting and then the second. >> Awesome. Thank you. >> Okay. Superintendence report. >> Uh, not much. I've been planning for summer projects already. Um, trying to get things lined up for work that we have to have during the summer. I know it seems early. That's really early for me because I'm usually not that ahead of time. But um also, uh Dave Daskkins has some issues that we can discuss later

when I put in the heating I put in the heating system in there. Um other than that, we have requisitions that are going to be due. I'm going to tell the teachers next week that the requisitions are going to be due April. I usually go the first Friday of the first April week and then um other than that, it's just business as usual. >> Thank you. Uh principal's report, Mr. Johnson. >> Yeah. Um this is March. It's it's been a very busy month. Uh the end of this month will be the end of quarter 3. Uh that's the 27th before we go home for our spring break. And then when we get back on April 6, that will be the beginning of quarter 4 already for this year. Um this yesterday our eighth graders had

their annual day at Jefferson County High School to um um to talk about next year and and start thinking about what they're going to do next year in that high school. Um our school counselor, Mrs. Otman over at the high school um worked together to put um those things together for our kids. Mr. Heaton also um went over as a chaperone. Um, we have a uh junior high music festival um next week, Wednesday. Um, thank you to Mr. Bowman for all the work he does with our kids in music. Uh, our wrestling um season is in full swing. Um, we're about actually almost halfway through wrestling season already. We want to acknowledge Coach Troy for all the time and effort he puts in with our kids. The last week of March will be the Missoula

Children's Theater, March 23rd through the 27th. Any students that are interested in that should come to the uh there's always an audition right after school on that Monday, March 23rd, and then there will be a performance on that Friday um March 27th. Uh at the same time, we have junior high track will be starting at the end of the month. Uh students are allowed to participate in both the Missou and track if they want to go to track. Uh Mrs. Bear, we will uh have a few more details about that in about another week. And then um this coming Friday is a calendar day off for the students, but our teachers have a PIR worksheet. It will workshop. It will be presented by Pam Hannah. It's a day of training um with her. We're looking

much forward to that. And then of course starting March 30th through the April 30th, what everybody's really looking forward to is our spring break week. So that's the principles report. Okay. Um moving on to new business uh personnel. We have an applicant for the 21st century program at the high school. Correct. Yep. Katherine Mcoff Mclofflin. >> So I will accept a motion to hire Katherine Mc Meslofflin pending background checks and fingerprints. Right. We haven't got those. Okay. >> I think I've sent him offline. >> Yes. It's tough. >> It is. Good luck. >> Approve Catherine Mofflin for the 21st century >> pending background check. >> All in favor? >> I. >> Motion carries. >> It's a tough one, isn't it? >> Um, non-resident student acceptance is a standing agenda item. There's nothing correct. >> Nope.

>> Okay. Liquidation of school property is also standing agenda item. So, probably nothing there. >> Correct. >> And then >> last year you said you guys were wanting to get rid of all of these cinder blocks that go around the daycare. >> Yeah, we're actually going to uh that's part of our facilities. >> Oh, okay. >> And we do that. >> Perfect. >> Um I kind of do that when I'm planning for the summer project. So, >> perfect. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Policy updates. Um >> okay. I did put one thing in there. um May uh June 15th is a little bit late as far as accepting a district um applications for students. Um I would really like to see it moved up to May 1st so that we can plan accordingly. If we get

an influx then we can plan you know so it would be done. >> Prop sizes, >> right? Okay. >> Are you talking about for out of district? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Right now it's in our policy that's June 15th. I would like to move it to May 1st. Some schools go to April 1st. Um, just for planning purposes. Um, but if we could do that, we could approve the first reading of that and then in April then we could have our sec second reading >> and I would put it on for a second reading. Then it would be in effect before May 1st. >> Yeah. And they'd have enough time to get it out. >> They would have enough time. Yeah. And we just inform everybody. We put it out there. Yeah. >>

Yeah. No, I >> do you want me to look at the policy? >> Uh if if you choose it. Um >> I mean yeah I just took a section of the policy out of the >> the part we want to change is on. Okay. So policy 3141 states every non-resident student who attends the district schools must apply for admission for the succeeding school year by June 15th. Admission in one school year does not interfere or guarantee admission in a subsequent year. So >> even students that >> if they're here already need to reapply. >> Yeah. >> My grandfather did. >> So >> we're going to change that or would like to change that from June 15th to May 1st. >> Correct. >> Okay. >> Thank you. >> That's our first reading then. >> Yeah. You'd

have to have a motion first reading. Yeah. I make a motion to accept the changes from June 15th to May 1st on policy 3141 as presented. >> Second motion. >> All in favor? >> We need first. >> Uh I make a motion to change to change the date from June 15th to May 1st for policy 3141. >> All in favor? policy or motion carries. Um, we've tabled the item five like football discussion >> correct >> until next April's meeting >> for the policy updates. Is that where like we can suggest maybe like the student handbook policy or no? Is that later on? >> Um, what we usually do for the student handbook is we get it ready for the June meeting. any rewrites because you have to do two readings on that and then we

give you the June and July meetings to approve it any changes. So that will >> what we've done in the past is June 15th or the June board meeting for the first reading of student credit. >> Correct. Y >> and then >> so it's ready to go by office. >> So when it's discussed in June then if the board has any changes or anything has to be changed then it would have to be approved. It has to be approved the second time. >> Okay. >> So that that's done in the summer. >> Okay. So for like parents and stuff to suggest or >> absolutely >> do we do that now? Do we wait till June? >> You would come to the June meeting. Yeah. When it's on. Yeah. >> Is that something you want to

go through the policy and handbook committee before it comes to the board? >> Yeah. Most of the time it's just the admin that goes through that and with you know collaboration with teachers. >> Okay. >> Um different things. Usually like Mr. Jammerson and I look at it and if there's bag or something comes up in its bag that and you can't put everything down on paper and it just doesn't work that way. So if we see some something that is bag that the parents you know need to know that you know to clarif clarify it then we will put changes in the last last year that's what we did is mostly just clarifications of stuff that was in there. >> Okay. So, but if there needs to be a change, um, >> for example, I've

been involved with dress policies and they've changed several times over the years. So, >> but that's that's usually the first readings in the June meeting. >> So, the June meeting, Cassie. >> Okay. Um, moving on to the heating system. We got a bunch of things that we absolutely need to do and some other things. We have about $64,000 in our building reserve for heating for a heating system. Um there's two items that I put on the agenda for to get it approved this meeting. Um, we need to replace a pump and then we have a a expansion tank that the bladder is going bad. It's leaking in it. Um, I I told Mr. Dkins that I would get that approved not knowing for sure when we would do it, but I wanted approved so that

when we get towards the end of this fiscal year, we can pull the trigger right away without wait for board approval. So, I wanted that approved. The second thing that uh Mr. Deskkins really wants to look at is switching over the software. And he has a pretty good argument. It's expensive as I'll get out. I will tell you that if you looked at it. Um, as you know, uh, Mr. Dkins is looking at possible retirement. And with this with this in place, um, if there's whoever replaces Mr. Dinskins, these guys will be able to tap into our thing and say, "This is what's wrong. This is what's wrong. This is what's wrong." And it's really would be beneficial going down the road. Um, because right now Dave knows everything about our our boilers and whatnot.

Uh the system we have in place right now is archaic. Uh it really can't adjust anything on the computer, you know, or on the system. So, it's just something that I want you to think about at, you know, the next month or two just to it's a high cost, but if we get to the end of May, beginning of June, if we have money, I know we have the building reserve money, if we can use that and maybe a little from general or something, he really thinks that's going to be an important step going forward for our school. And I and he will come to the meeting and discuss it with you if you wanted to because he um I'm a little worried about that myself, you know, because he knows everything. He's been in

forever and knows the system. >> Yeah. >> So, it's just something to think about, but I would like to get the pump and fixing that bladder approved at this meeting and then towards the end of the fiscal year, I'd like to be able to pull the trigger without going through a meeting again if the board so approves. in the software. He got a price for it. >> Yeah, it's >> Is it this one, Mr. Selvic? >> Yes. >> Uh >> $59,800. We did get them down from 75. But >> are they able to hold that proposal for more than 30 days? >> I'm sure they will for us. Yeah, because we This is Mckin Street. >> Okay. Yeah. >> Yeah. But so I it's just something I want you to consider. Um I will let

you know if if the funds are there towards the end of the year if it's possible pull the trigger on this. And again I I think if you talk to Dave I think it would I could have him come to the meeting and have him talk to you next meeting or whatever. And he's pretty sure that this would be benefit whoever is going to replace him and everybody here. So, but again, that's a chunk of money, a big chunk of money. And I did I did had a call to find out that there's no yearly fee and there's no fee for upgrades to the software. When you get it, you get it and then it's done. >> Is the software ran on obviously like our like the technology itself? >> Just the program to run

on the technology. Yeah. What happens in a power outage? >> Well, uh, >> your boiler systems are reliable. Those have been around time. >> You can always bypass anything, but if it's if there's a power outage, it doesn't matter if we have access to it or not. We don't have we don't have heat. I mean, that's >> even the boiler system, you don't have heat. >> No power will go down. Yeah. We won't have the pumps and everything won't run. >> Yeah. That's why if we get a terrible cold spell, >> we're in a large trouble with if we don't have any electricity. >> Okay. >> So, I would like to get that one approved at the board chooses for the the replacement pump and then >> the tank 754. >> And that's not both

of them together, right? It's the 3,46411 for the >> that's that's a separate one that I'm not sure if we're going to do yet. >> Okay. >> And that because it's not over the $5,000. I will just inform the board if we're going to do that. >> Okay. >> Um and I could put it on an agenda item too if you so choose. >> Okay. So tonight, I will accept a motion to approve mechanistry to replace the pump and repair the expansion tank bladder for a cost of $8,754. >> I'll make a motion for Mckin Street to replace it and repair the expansion tank ladder for a cost of $8,754. >> Second motion. >> All in favor? I >> motion passes. Um I item agenda agenda item seven is the principal contract. At this time

Mr. Jamson I believe you can go into executive session if you would like. >> If there's discussion yes >> discussion >> if there's going to be discussion on his performance. Yes it will go into executive session. >> Correct. >> Yeah. Yep. >> So what what's this exactly? To extend his contract to continue working. >> Yeah. So it be to runo's contract for the next school year. >> Can I ask that it not be renewed? >> You can I think but I believe that's performing in person. >> You can you can you can do that in executive session. So what I explained earlier is if you individually want to make a comment in front of the board that's fine. >> Okay. >> But you can't do it in a public setting. >> Okay. Okay. So, that's

up to Mr. Jamson and and the board and he would like it in executive session if there's any performance comments. >> Yeah. >> So, it's, you know, you can meet with them by yourselves first or you can start going through anybody that wants to talk in executive session. Everybody else will have to leave. >> So, you want us to line up outside? >> I mean, I'm cool with everybody here. It >> It's not up to you. It's up to Mr. Jameson. Yes. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Um >> and I suggest that Britain stay to take notes. >> Correct. Okay. >> Okay. >> Is Mr. Jameson okay with that? >> Yes. Yes. >> And Mr. Sid can stay too. >> Okay. >> Thank you. >> All right. We will be going to into executive session at

24. We will come out and get you in the hallway when we're ready to hear the next comment. >> Camera's got to go. >> And camera and Mike have to go.
