001I pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Approval of minutes. So move. Second. Oh, any questions? or corrections. >> Are you good for Dustin? >> No. >> Okay. All those in favor? >> I >> oppose. Okay. Approval of moved. Second. What are the legal fees for? >> So the >> that um well in relation to our um bus driver. >> Oh. We've reached out to them to make sure that we are doing everything on our end correctly. >> Okay. >> And so >> yes. >> Okay. We'll talk about that a bit. >> Yeah. is a drum for the band. >> And that was grant money. >> Which grant is that? >> Title

002four. So, a well-rounded education. >> Okay. Any other questions? Okay. All those in favor? >> Oppose. Public comment on non-aggenda items. Please right. Res. >> So the only thing I I guess we sorry there is no public comment on agenda items. >> Communications to and from the board. We received a very nice message from um I still call him Mr. Durr, but Randy Durr um to just thank us for being part of his 45 year career now that he's retiring. So I'll go ahead and pass that around. >> Thank you. Randy Durr is retiring from Harlo, please. >> Okay. Board chair report. I don't think I have anything. >> Look at you. >> I know it's easy to look. Maybe um transportation director's report. Evening everybody. Uh I just want to start off uh want

003to thank all the drivers for the awesome year that they've had. They've been great support to the school students getting them to and from events to and from school. Um unfortunately we didn't get to use any of our days this year. So >> we tried but I tried. Didn't work so well. Uh, I would like to thank uh Vicky O'Hara, Wes Scarret, and Jim O'Hara for their years as route drivers. Um, Vicki and Jim will continue on with us as extracurricular, but they are stepping away from being route drivers. Um, I would like to thank Carrie Thomas for continuing on as a route driver. And to go with that, we're still continuing the search for drivers. Um, we are hiring two tonight to drive routes. Uh, we're still working on the other one to get

004their stuff in. It's just a timing issue between me and them to get their training done. So, um, the other the only other thing I got is the cameras and electronic door latch are up and operational at the bus barn. So, uh, what's electronic door lock? So it monitors who comes in and out of the bus bar. >> It's the fob system that way like drivers have and >> well so the one over the bus bar is slightly different. I can issue them a key card or I can get them to download an app on their phone and then that way they can >> but I can monitor who comes in and I can >> see. >> Does the app work pretty good? it. Yeah, I've got it on my phone and it it works

005awesome. Cool. And I'll be able to remotely view the cameras if need be and I can remotely let people in. Let's say they forget uh their card, I can see that they're at the bus bar and I can let them in the door that way at all. >> So, it's the same system that we have here. >> Yeah. >> And it'll follow the same policy that like B won't be looking at the camera. He will have to have cause or reason or need and he will have to still look at them like we do up here with two members of an administrative team. So either like with Carly or >> the superintendent or >> cause reasonable suspicion >> I always call it reasonable suspicion. >> Okay. >> You know if you have a valid valid

006report of somebody having something you look at the camera. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> A reasonable suspicion look in a locker. you look, you might look in a locker room. We kept telling a story earlier before the meeting started, >> but um generally we don't just rush down there. It's real time considering to locate what you're looking for. You're looking at a window of time >> and then you have to scan through different because there's different cameras and different angles and that kind of stuff. So >> Yeah. So with three cameras, there's nine different views. So it covers three different routes around the entire bus form. >> So >> cool. >> Is that inside or out? >> Outside. >> Okay. >> Just outside. And uh we're still working on uh final bids for the bus

007cameras. So that is all I have. Pretty short and sweet. >> Thank you. >> Hey, activity director's report. >> So there was a lot to Jamie's report. She emailed you. Bethany, I have a copy to give you, too. >> Oh, thanks. >> That that'd be really helpful. I think there a lot of information. Um so I won't bore you with reading through everything that Jamie sent you. There's lots of hires, which I'll get to in a second, but our spring sports were incredibly active. We we did well with the weather this year. Didn't have a lot of cancellations early in the season. We did, but um I had hoped at one point to get to the divisional golf tournament that fell through unfortunately. So, I didn't get a chance to watch them, but all teams

008golf, tennis, and track did really, really well competing for representing Fort Benton. And and uh I think they did us proud. We had a new state record in the in the 4 by 100 relay, the girls at state. And um yeah, some other I'll let again I'll let you read the through the incredible results from the spring of those three sports. Uh summer plans, she mentioned tennis camp uh June 8th through 10th. We had some kids last week show up early. They were pretty excited to uh to be here a week early. But uh hoop camp 1st through the 8th. Uh football camp uh June, they went down to MSU over the weekend. Uh the open gym is now running for the high school. Um set for 6:00 to 8 pm every night, Monday through

009Thursday. Girls basketball is Monday, volleyball is Tuesday, football is Wednesday, and boys basketball is Thursday. And there's also open weight room. I'll be asking for you there. We do have a open gym volunteer, which I'll get to later in this report. Uh gym use, Jamie reports that she'll be sending out reminder letters to the users that they're coming to the end of their access period and that the renewal can begin to happen the upcoming usage year. And then she mentions the MHSA dues. Um, which I won't bore you with those details, but there's a bunch of hires and I guess we need to go through these by category, right, Calie? >> Uh, yes. >> Okay. So, I'll just start at the top of the and just and there's some that aren't on the list that

010I think she originally sent out, but for middle school volleyball, Jamie'd like to recommend Shannon Gman to continue her role as the second middle school volleyball coach this upcoming school year. >> So moved. >> Second. All those in favor? >> I >> oppos. >> Okay. For middle school football, we just had two uh emails today, actually. So, I would uh Jamie would like to recommend uh the hiring of Josh Casmier and Wendell, I apologize, Kuwan. >> Yep. >> As co- coaches for middle school football this year. >> So moved. Second. All those in favor? >> I I >> uh we've had interest in middle school boys basketball, but they weren't unable by the time we meeting uh today tonight. They weren't able to confirm coaches for middle school basketball or boys basketball, middle school girls

011basketball. Um she'd like to recommend Rihanna Pulse as one of the coaches. Again, the second position is an interest, but they're waiting to verify. So, I'd recommend we hire Rihanna Pulse as one of the middle school girls basketball coaches. So second. >> All those in favor? >> I I >> You did such a good job voting, Kyler. >> Thank you. >> You're welcome. M Jamie would like to recommend the hiring of Katie Gudon for our fall cheer coach. >> Second. >> All those in favor? I >> J would like to recommend the hiring of Miranda Lynch and Diana Barwick to continue their positions of middle school tennis coaches. >> So moved. >> Second. >> All those in favor? >> I I >> Jamie like to recommend the hiring of Miranda Lynch as the head tennis

012co high school tennis coach and Dannwick as her assistant. So second. >> All those in favor? All right. Uh Jamie, we'd like to recommend the hiring of Dave Roinger as your head high school golf coach and Justin Cartrite as his assistant. You >> need to slow down. Um >> second, >> I I have two copies I can give you this too yet. >> No. Okay. >> Okay. Sorry. >> All those in favor? >> Iost. So, I would like to recommend the hiring of Jamie Ball as the high school uh track coach, head co track coach, and the and hire assistants Damon Gilbreth and Lindel Cluan as assistant track coaches, assistant high school track coaches. >> So, moved. >> Second. I guess I just have some uh I don't I guess I have little concerns sometimes

013where we have our um ad also coach because who is time constraints um so I don't know if that's something >> how did this year look with being gone and >> spring spring is different than winter and fall >> and substitutes and >> I mean there there certainly because of those track meetings on weekdays certainly there are there are substitutes that have to cover but um honestly I I don't I didn't feel like we skipped a beat >> regarding any AD roles >> I think it would be I I do think that it's a little it's a different level of intensity in the fall the winter for someone to be the AD and coaching but I I don't feel like it's it's a conflict really or a problem in the spring >> and I think

014the schedule this year a lot of those high school track meets were on Saturday >> so they didn't even impact so But and it's easy to find a sub for Jim. >> Yeah. I guess I just I mean I don't think that we should be having to be forced to find a sub to have a coach. I guess the I just my thought to me is make sure that we're scholastic or focusing on school first, you know, and not being at detriment. Um, you know, they're taking time away from >> the teaching, I guess, gym and that teaching role. >> Yeah. >> But the track, you you have the same challenge with with track and and golf >> and tennis and golf, excuse me. >> Oh, yeah. No, I totally >> I guess Yeah, sure.

015>> Can I second that? >> I just wanted to see how it went, I guess, this year. From my perspective, I thought I thought it went really pretty well. I think we benefited from Madison track meets on Saturdays. I mean, she's still full on with with all the things that she's got to do, teaching and now coaching tennis and being the athletic director, but I didn't feel like we had any everybody meddles out in the spring. Mhm. Because one reason I bring this up is because there was an instance just last meeting where we had a coach that was doing two roles and was told that they couldn't coach one because they were coaching others. >> Well, I think I think it's the nature of that beast to be honest with you. >> Okay. I

016just want to make sure I mean that we're fair. No, I understand your point and I think I think it would be if the personnel committee wants to, you know, have that discussion again about that particular >> situation, I think it'd be worthy of having that discussion again. But, >> um, >> I understand, uh, the person that we're talking about and their discomfort with that decision, but I I think until you've done the role, I don't know that you know how much there is to be done. >> Yeah. And I I understand I guess maybe I know we're getting off topic here. Uh just one comment I had is just make sure that we're upfront a little bit more with everybody. I think >> that's fair. >> All the parties involved maybe. >> Yeah. I'm

017sorry to get off. >> Well, and I would just share with all due respect my perspective is that I feel like we in this case we were >> but that's just my perspective. >> Yeah. >> Any other discussion? All those in favor? >> I >> opposed. >> Jamie'd like to recommend the hiring of Brooke Cunningham as the head FFA and Ethan Cunningham H Ethan Cunningham as her assistant. >> So move >> second. >> Okay. All those in favor? >> I >> opposed. >> And finally, Jamie would like to recommend the um the volunteer for the open gym, Keegan Cyroot >> for middle school. per middle school open gym. So move >> second. >> All those in favor? >> I opposed. >> Okay. >> And then I think the other other thing that Jamie had was

018uh is kind of basically further down in the handbooks. >> Follow most >> the Oh, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. Yeah, I checked it and didn't say it. Yeah, thank you very much. Jamie would like to recommend the hiring of Damon Gilbreth for both the fall and winter host for this coming school year. >> So moved. >> Second. >> All those in favor? >> I opposed. You're okay. >> Okay. So um there was she has verbiage to add to the handbook regarding a decision we made the board made previously this year eighth grade participation that we will bring up when we have handbooks and the uh uh discussion about the adjustment to the open gym policy. So those are um that's >> the open gym policy falls under the policy meeting report. >> Okay. Thank you.

019>> Yep. >> That's it then. Okay, you give Russ out this evening that I have neglected to um for the big thank go to the Brand Hasbro um in the 19 years if you think about it um that's 285 possible meetings um with the 12 plus three and we do way more than that. Um and all the the projects and and all the stuff that he's done. So um over 335 or 40 trips in the 19 years. So thank for um I was with him for 14 of the 19 years and uh Stalworth on the committee and always um positive to the school and and what he could do um to make improvements in our district. So, um, thanks to Brent. Um, the city, um, it became kind of a an issue, but it it

020turned out all right. Um, during the the little guy track from the elementary, um, we got a call that they were able to bring the millings down and they milled that road down from the highway, which is going to be a blessing during the winter, and right now it is because we don't have any dirt and they're not potholes, stuff like that. Um they did get to it a little bit later um in the day and um so thank the city and the city crew for doing that. Um it comes all the way down to the gravel here just as we get into where it they can't swil it into the into the approach. So um thank the city crew the summer help and and uh Mr. W bring this up but um I thank

021Corey and Kista Lynn and Manny for coming on board at the last minute. um a lot of discussion, but they did come on board um to put in some hours to get our schools clean and Larry's going to be helping him with the floors. He's going to do the gym floor and and and the kitchen floor down there. Um so Larry's going to be helping and then in the process they're going to be moving up to here. Um and they're just kind of short timing it a few days a week, but u we will get up here. Um they've already got two rooms that are pretty well done down there. Um just ready to put them back together. So um with those guys working together, Cory has done it before and he's leading the group

022and um running the fiend and stuff like that and earth ladders and cleaning and I mean they're they're already working together and you go down there and they're already busting on it. So uh just in two days they've already got one room ready to wax and put back in and the other one upstairs the same way. So, in a couple days, they've they've they've done a lot. Um, so we hope to get up here pretty soon. Um, and it won't take long up here at this school, not like it does down at the elementary. The plumbing project started yesterday at 6:00 in the morning. Uh, Milk River was there. They uh staged all their stuff out of the shed and um they they already, if you go down there and see the pilot pipe that

023they've already taken out of the basement, it's just amazing. out of the crawl spaces. Um they're they're again for the two days that they've been there, they're really really going at it. Their goal is to be done by the end of July on this phase. Now what comes into play is I think we have to have a committee meeting in order to have a committee meeting. And I know that um the discussion comes back into the budget, but we're looking at another budget if we're going to do phase two. We did talk about it, but we put it off. They need to know as soon as possible if we're going to do phase two. If not, then it it will stop at a certain point down there in the crawl space. So, we do need

024to reply back to them at if we're definitely out on phase two, um, which was that $7,700 employment part of it, and they need to know that again as soon as possible. The next budget item that I had that I would like to get um into the next year and I know that Cali and we've discussed it before um was the roofing project over the primary wing. I think that that's very very important. If I was to choose between phase two of this, which would be the water park going over to the bathrooms and that roofing project, I'd definitely take the roofing project. Um, is it the fifth and sixth grade bathrooms? >> Yes, but it's the water part. The the the sewer part will be taken care of down to down to a certain

025point. And so, couple things that we really need to look at in the next budget year. Um, the roofing project was at 58,000. Um, and again, at some point, we're going to we're going to have a failure down there. Um it's it's close right now. Um we do have a leak up above on that other roof and while they're here if if we went with this one and I would have them go up there and inspect that upper roof um and see what's going to go on up there. Um in the tech area, Carly and I have been working on um in the mornings running the tech um the cat 6 wires for both schools. Um high school is done. We're a third done down at the elementary and um so we've got everything laid

026out. We work in the mornings and she's got other things to do and I go out and do other things and uh take care of some of these other things that um are under fire. So, within another week, we'll have both schools all done, which is in her timeline to have those guys come in and finish that project um in July and do all that all the Wi-Fi dishes and all that stuff. The wires right there. We'll finish that over there. And um so, all new Cat 6 into the service and they'll put all their ends on and stuff. a lot of small stuff and just working outside. >> Is it going to be? >> No. No, not really. Couple days. Um, but at some point I think we need to discuss whether we're going

027to go committee on phase two and or and then if Calop be involved on financing if we can do that project within the budget for the next year or whatever because they'll need to know to get that in yet this fall. >> Do they have a timeline? How soon they need to know, Russ? How soon do they need to know? >> Uh, phase two. as soon as possible because they're down there now >> and they would they wouldn't dead head. They would continue on. >> So we can schedule a committee meeting tonight. >> So >> hopefully >> for like the next get it done within the next week. >> Yes, please. >> So will they have a special board meeting though not to that? Well, and it's tricky because I don't have any budget numbers

028for you with this is at the end of the year, >> but that could come in into the next budget if there's a if it's approved. >> Yeah. But if it's approved, you can approve it, but I can't tell you if you can actually do it. >> Yeah. Yeah, that's right. >> But we for that amount of money that we would have to have a >> and that number was 77,000. Correct. Yes. Not 7,700. I don't as we're wrapping up the year here. >> Yeah. >> Were we running were we going to plan on that 77,000 to see if we saved any or came up short on the first phase to see how we ended up >> moneywise on those project? Yes. Was there any savings or was there any money left over from all

029that other stuff we got rid of? >> Yeah, you'll see her momentarily. >> We'll get something scheduled for us. So, >> yeah. Thank you. >> It's Kelly's turn. >> Sorry, one more question on the roof. Um, how soon do we need to know on or like >> well as soon as possible? So you get it scheduled by fall. >> So like so on the roof portion if that was like July or August, would that be sooner? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Yeah. I mean >> cuz they can do it as long as the weather's fair for two or three days. >> Yeah. you know, but and the roofing would be the exact same thing that they put on the fort over here where they they put that that laminate foam down on top and then

030then stretch it and uh >> um they've been down twice and looked at it again. So, I mean the young fell is really interested in doing the job. Um, I've looked at that one and I and been up on top of that one and I think that it's it's a very good product and they have a 10ear guarantee on it. >> Okay. And so what color sheets do we need to look at? >> You need purple, actually. All right. So, back to the back. The purple sheet. Um, the end of the year is like the most stressful time of the year if I did my job or not or everybody listening today. Um, so in the general funds, um, I still have some claims left to do. I was trying my best to get them

031all done, but we still have a little bit left. Um, so you can see there's 4% of our budget remaining. Um, and that's you have to kind of gauge this with a I don't know being optimistic that all your taxes so your budget you're guessing that everybody will pay their taxes and all your money will come in. So we're right there at the nittyritty. Um, so I figure by the time we get all of our claims paid down, I'll be right there at 7 left. um when we get done with the whole holding and both the elementary school and the high school are both right at about the same. Um there's a little bit more left in the high school, but we have more claims to run out of there um with all the activities

032postseason and things just starting to trickle in um on that one. Um and the only I think everything else looks pretty good and you can see the building reserves you know back to Russ's thing and budgeted and what's remaining that percent remaining there that original budget amount takes in that permissive levy as well as the full loan amount. So this is all that's remaining with our loan. So everything that's there is everything we got. There is no more. So there's no I mean that's figuring all the levied dollars in there. So where it says unexpended balance that's with projecting all of the levied dollars. Does that make sense? >> Projecting. So that's so like the beginning where it says budgeted >> y >> that was your little bit of permissive levied money which was like

03333,000 with your levy. So the full amount of the levy in there. So you can see there where it says unexpended balance that would be that top dead nogo. So this is what an expended is what we've spent on the project to date. Oh, got you. >> Yep. So then what's here is everything that's that's left. That's all that's left. >> How much did we get built for on phase one? >> So you're in the high school. stuff. >> Did we? >> No, but that has to some of this has to encompass about 42 of it is general maintenance money. So, you have to there's two pieces to it in one part. >> Okay. So all the like general, you know, supplies, maintenance supplies, um um all the other little fixes that happen throughout the

034year all come out of there, too. So if you're looking at a budget perspective, you've really only got I always take it that that 42 is mine and Russ only has two. Make sense? because then we've got to make payments back with this same amount of money. So your payments have to come out of this fund too or the inner cap won't >> make sense. >> So kind of a quick and dirty just highlevel view of that since we were just talking about it. >> Um so I think that's good of the activities funds. Um, they're all been pretty good. I mean, postseason in the spring is expensive. So, any questions on the general funds? Ben, >> what about the miscellaneous programs on the elementary side? >> So, are you looking at 315? >> 315.

035Yeah. >> So, that's the co-op. Okay, >> that's the special ed co-op. >> So, it's kind of deceiving. >> What's 382 then? >> 382 is also the special ed co-op. They have two funds. So, 382 is your local special ed dollars and 315 is your federal special ed dollars. >> So, do do those roll over somewhere or what? >> Some of them some of it does. Um it's it looks like there's a lot there right now because I've to finish their payrolls. >> Yeah. I guess the local were negative. >> Yes. So I've had to transfer from 315 to 382. And that some of that is a clerical error on my half behalf that I should have I was just thinking I was killing payroll and I every now and then you have to switch

036individuals paying them from different funds because of how you're funding it gets tight at the end of the year. So and I'll just have to correct that one. So and like same with 115. The reason it's negative is because I have to request the money because that's all federal dollars and you can't request it until you've spent it and then I don't put it in here until I've received it. >> So is that like lunch stuff? >> Um 115. No, that's title one, Title 4, SRS, small rural schools, um Carl Perkins, any dollars that we receive from the federal government. Okay, >> it sits in 150. It's very federal dollar grants are very very touchy and I spent a lot of time yeah going back and forth and Pat and I going back and forth

037um on those. So they're constantly changing the rules on you. So any other question? Okay. So then um I need approval to void year old warrants. >> So move second. >> All those in favor opposed. >> And then I need for SBAS. So FBAS would be any of the like referee checks or coaches checks that have been more than a year. That's where SBAS warrants it. So check that she's out of there. >> Yep. >> Check. >> Yeah. Right. >> So moved. >> Fair warning. All those approved. >> I >> opposed. >> Okay. The next one is obsolete property. So, we have some obsolete property that it's um I don't know, they're licenses, airwave licenses, and we have been getting leases on them. Um and they've been bought out. I mean, Spectrum had them for

038a while. They're old from I don't know if you guys remember, Superintendent Bob Anderson. >> He had got them back in the day. We got a lease for them. T-Mobile says they're no longer going to pay us on the lease. Um, and then they are like, "Well, if you want to sell them to us, we'll negotiate terms." Um, but I need your approval um, to put that up as obsolete property to even to negotiate some of that. >> Well, exactly. >> Radio frequency. >> Yeah. So, like if you wanted to have like a school radio, >> they were given to they were given to public schools back in the day thinking that public schools were going to use them for that exact same thing. You know, like H Northern has their own student radio station.

039>> So, what are we going to get for 99 cents? >> Well, you'll find out. >> Can we go one, right? >> Yeah. >> Well, we've been in negotiation. Um, we've reached out another I thought it was spam to be honest >> from T-Mobile and so I kind of disregarded. Then another school reached out to me and she said, "Did you get this?" And I'm like, "Yeah, I thought I was being scammed." She goes, "Oh, it's not a scam." And so, um, I reached out and then I was like, "We should get together and like, you know, join, you know, with our powers combined, you know, talk to this big corporation." And so Pat and I have been working on this for a while. And so now, in order to like kind of negotiate any

040further, we need to have it on the record that you guys are willing to put it up for obsolete property. >> I'll make a motion. Second. >> All those in favor? >> Yeah. As long as we like know what >> Nobody All the other schools are doing the same thing. >> Yeah. I mean, it's if it's as long as it's not T-Mobile trying to >> It's not. >> Is this like silver? Is like the rate on this thing's going to go up? >> No. I think it's going to actually if we don't take advantage of the situation, I think we're going to end up with nothing. >> Okay. >> I just didn't want to our legal counsel has advised us. >> We'll talk about >> is that we needed to do it or you're going

041to end up with nothing. >> So, >> okay. >> Do we need to catch you up there? >> I'm okay. >> Okay. Well, this one's kind of a weird one. We're putting Well, we'll talk about it. I don't >> We're going to vote on obsolete property of >> airwaves frequencies. >> Frequencies that the school owns. >> Yeah, >> I'm familiar with some of that. >> Okay. >> FCC stuff, right? >> Yep. >> So, it's kind of cool actually. >> So, all those in favor? >> I opposed. >> And I've got the thing. You have the thing. I got the thing. >> And then we'll have to have you as the chair sign. Okay. individual transportation contracts. >> Forgot the shop press on >> Oh, the shop press. So, remember you guys had the shop press

042up for obsolete property two months ago. I've got no bids. >> Oh, really? Really? >> Yeah. >> Really? So, what would you like me to do with >> the press? Yeah. No bids. >> Can I dispose? >> I wonder if there's no Everybody's so busy seeding and taking care of >> We can advertise it again. >> Yeah, it's been out for a few months now. Nobody What did we put on for a minimum on that? I >> think it's one. >> Yeah. >> Think was it again? 20. >> I'm not sure that we published that. >> Yeah, I think so. I talked to Cindy about it. >> Okay. >> Readvertise it. >> But we can we can readvertise it. You want to rerun it? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Scrap's only 20 bucks a ton.

043Yeah, scrap the price there. >> We'll rerun that. >> Maybe drop the price on it. >> Do you want to have no bid? >> No. No minimum bid. >> No reserve. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Might be worth it. >> Yeah. >> Well, better than nothing, I guess. >> Okay. individual transportation contracts are on the salmon colored sheet. Um these are the first group of kiddos are all on the Pleasant Valley route and then we have one on the harder route. So these are all kids. It's a separate sheet >> in your pile on sitting loose on the table there. >> So these are all kids that live more than three miles from the nearest bus stop. So, we offer them a transportation contract so that we're not >> driving that far. It's cheaper

044for us to do this than not. Not Not all of them take advantage of it. Some of them do. >> I'll stay for >> Yep. And you have to Yeah, abstain as well. This that >> you got Kyla. Kyla's here. >> One, two, three, four of your short. >> Yes, we'll revisit it at the next. >> Can we we separate it out, Carter and N? >> Oh, yeah. We could do that. >> So, do you want to do Carter first? So move some second. Okay. All those in favor? >> Opposed. >> Okay. Pleasant Valley. Second. >> All those in favor? >> Opposed. >> Okay. And the next one is um out of district attendance agreement approved this last meeting. >> We did. >> But these are all the ones that you approved and all the

045ones I've got back. >> So move. So, you don't have to make a motion on it. I just wanted to show you that these are all the ones that we approved. >> Oh, okay. >> And they all came back. >> So, we're not agreeing. >> Nope. Everybody, I've got everybody's contract >> back. So, yeah. >> I had a different question on a different sheet. Can we go back to this? >> Yes. >> What account does this what what account do these contracts come out of? Transportation. Okay. And what about the Benjamin? >> Yeah. Is that the same fun? >> No. >> Okay. I wonder if we could I'll talk to you later about it. >> Yeah, cuz these ones we levy for that we know we're going to have. So, I put it in this

046big spreadsheet that the state gives us and that helps us with our permissive living. That's how we calculate that is we know you know who we have on that one. >> Yeah. >> So and then the next thing I have is um the multi-dist transfer. So if there's any kind of funds left over um we are allowed to transfer for a certain um percentage or amount of them into our multidist account that we can use kind of as our savings account. Um and so I need permission to transfer up to $100,000 into there. So moved. I think is it going to happen? >> I have so much faith in all Win. We'll see. You know, always ask for the world and of the worst. Okay. Any questions? All those in favor I >> opposed. I

047Okay. >> Okay. It's pass. Um just a few things. Uh wanted to comment that uh we had graduation on May 24th. I thought it went really exceptionally well. Incredible crowd and um it was a really really nice event. So um it was on the 24th. We had uh um also had academic awards on the 19th and Mrs. Martin reported to me that when you think about the awards that these students are receiving in some cases those awards are for the life of their college. It could be a four-year award, that kind of thing. But having said that, we had our graduates, this year's graduating class, earn $696,799 in scholarships, grants, and that kind of thing. Just just shy of $700,000. Pretty impressive. That's pretty impressive. Um, uh, Mr. Iverson, your new superintendent was here on

048June 5th, and he'll be back in the house again, uh, working full-time on July 1st. Um, we are working on, um, I've been talking to Mrs. Beu. We had a, uh, community, uh, person approach the school about a possible, uh, funding of a project. And so, um, I spoke with Mrs. Veu about we're we're looking into the cost of upgrading the board out in front of the school. And I have no idea. She's trying to contact some companies to see about what that cost would be, but there's a there's a a community person that is interested in a project like that. So stay tuned for more information. I don't um I don't have a cost in front of you to share with you what that might be. Um and I don't have a I think

049after talking to the community person, I think they'd be interested in that. I think we we try to guess ballpark, but I don't have a clue. the technology behind the board that you have there is no longer functional. You have to you have to buy all new technology. So what that exactly means in terms of the the face of the board and all that, we don't know. So some we're hoping to get someone out here to look at it and give us a bit. So stay tuned. >> The other thing is is that uh Carly's also looking Mrs. Bay is also looking at the cost of a new bell system. Um we are fortunate to have um Brad and Sue back in the community that every time the power goes out and we have to

050reset the bells, they have to come and it takes about an hour plus time to to reprogram that. You have to do the entire bell system. >> Wow. >> It's it's really quite impressive. So I've learned how to reset the time and that's about as far as I got. But uh so we're looking into the cost of a potential new bell system um with the existing wires so we don't hopefully Russ wouldn't have to run any wires. >> Um um then you're going to see later in the agenda that we had uh I have an update for you about the high school science teaching position. We had a a coup if you might say so. But you're going to see recommendation to hire rehire Rob Truax later in the the agenda which was it's a

051long story but uh we were very very fortunate. We had three candidates and one withdrew their application two people turned me down and we had three really good interviews. We were I mean again I think it's a credit to the Fort Benton public schools that we had three science teacher in the spring. three people that applied for that position and um circumstances being different, they just weren't able the other two people weren't able to make it work, which opened the door for me to have a conversation when Mr. Iverson was here with Mr. Truax and he's coming back to work for the Fort Bon Public Schools. So, that's pretty cool. Um the final thing I have is I would uh kindly request that we move to executive session to discuss two uh requests that have

052been given to me for uh requests for early graduation. right from the stage. >> And I would kindly ask Kathy to stay at the beginning of that meeting, please. >> Okay. So, the individual's right to privacy outweighs the public's right to know. So, we do need to stop the recording. >> I would kindly request to the board, I would recommend to the board that we accept the uh requests for early graduation from two students as mentioned in the close session. >> So, moved. >> Second. >> All those in favor? I >> opposed. >> Okay, real quick. I forgot um Roxy Benjamin wasn't able to be here tonight. Um she wanted to thank uh everyone that helped during the month of May and uh the their uh yearly uh track and field day was really successful

053and she does not have an elementary handbook prepared for tonight, but she said she'll have it for the birth reading in July. Um, we are re we've been reviewing we're getting together tomorrow to review the map data and hopefully she'd have a a report for that for you in um in July as well. uh she's going to delegate assembly later this week and she said quote to fight with the superintendent group because they delegate assembly they they talk about things they're going to put forth to the legislature and there's the AI policies the mass the Montana assessment uh is up for some discussion and a AI policies is the is probably the biggest one right now and there's lots every day I get something from somebody chatter about AI so it's the states getting their

054nose in it and who knows where that's going to go. But there so and um that's it basically and she sent you the rest of her report I think. So that's it for me. >> Okay. So committee reports and meetings. Um we have first and second reading of handbooks. You need to go through them. >> I don't unless there's some question specifically you have. Um pretty self-explanatory and Paul can speak to his bus driver the bus ones if he wants. The only one I don't see here is Oh, the coaching handbook was here. So, um >> yes, Jamie and I got um >> Jamie and Jenna, my new employee Jenna was doing great. Um they added what needed to be added in there. Um so, if you look, >> if you look at the coaching

055handbook, the new stuff is in yellow. Um, and to be deleted is in green. >> Is the eighth grade? >> Okay. That's the only one I was going to draw your attention to because >> it's the big towards the back page 35. >> Thank you. >> Nice. And Jamie got it all put together with minimums or >> Yeah. With the guidance from you guys that you had. So, she reached out to each coach. >> Yeah. um because you guys can at the meeting that you know you were leaving it at the coach's discretion, but she reached out to the head coach of each um team >> sport. There you go. Um and this is what they came up with. And I think then the only other real change in here is that we added a

056couple more dollars onto the meals. Um it it's getting hard to get lunch for $12. >> The very back page, Mr. Lennington adjusted the award in the letter system in the music program. >> That's that's really it. Oh, and then we took out there was a weird thing about wearing headphones, but we took that out. um that students were not allowed to wear headphones when working independently or seated. >> So I mean a little >> if they were standing they could >> stop it >> or working in a group. >> So it just seemed kind of antiquated. So, um >> yeah. >> Okay. >> Your attention to in the handbooks. >> Okay. >> Um policy meeting we >> we did. Yeah. Policy meeting. We talked about policy um about specific go specifically changing times during

057the summer. to give the kids better access and a little bit more better access to the um adults off my head here. >> 9 to three 9 to3 um and I believe the the weight room and open or the adult use community use is closed down during open gym hours. Yeah, open gym hours are what was it like? >> Well, it depends. >> It's but the kids are coming in and lifting weights and um doing >> and open gym goes on at the same time. >> Yep. And so that's why the community use hours are shut down during that time. >> And we extended Sunday hours at 8 to 5. Instead, I think it was 10 to 4. >> 10 to 4. >> Is the open gym hours in one of the handbooks? I I

058forget. >> No, because they're kind of Well, they're scheduled with Jamie because they kind of vary. >> Yeah, >> it's they're all out on the school calendar if you ever want to look up what time and what day. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Um because it switches between each. >> I guess I have seen that before. So this would be considered the first reading of the policy. We'll approve it in July and it will go public at that point. We have to have two readings of >> and I think you can you need to vote on that handbook. >> Are they first first and second reading handbooks? We've always just done one. >> Okay. But if you want to do a this first and then the second. >> Let's do it the second and then we

059can include hers and we'll have our Jimmy's policy and get everything at the next meeting to make it clean. >> Y okay. >> Um so there was not a personnel committee meeting but do we make that of the >> Yes, you can just you are you comfortable with that? the document. >> I gota go find the document. I handed it back. >> Basically, they accepted our >> Yes. And it was to add a bonus. >> Yes. >> Um, >> you have it. >> Yep. >> Okay. So employees hired into bargaining unit or positions shall be re eligible for the following stiffen. So a full-time would be $1,500 and part-time is $750. Um it will be paid once the employees reached three months of employment. So, this is a bonus we're adding to help um bring

060attract and bring in new employees for the custodial staff. So, it's only the custodians, >> right? That's >> that's what Yeah, we don't have to approve or anything because it's >> they agreed. So, the union agreed. >> The union came back and agreed. So, it was pretty quick and easy. So we can advertise that in the paper now. >> Do we advertise with that? >> We can. Yeah. >> Great. Because we already have the job posted, right? >> Yep. They've been posted and advertised in the paper. And so then the next running of the paper will have the hourly wage plus the bonus for like Paul does for the bus driver. >> Okay. Um so schedule committee meetings. I Russ brought up that we need a buildings and grounds committee meeting. >> Okay. >> Um

061it's to talk about where we want to focus on next, right? >> Phase two, >> but they need to >> it has to be within the next week because they're demoing up to that fifth and sixth grade bathroom by the auditorium. >> Okay. So they want to know if they should keep going >> which is that extra 77,000. >> Oh took all the fun out of it. >> Did we decide no or did you not have an answer yet? >> We were waiting. >> Okay. Let's have a meeting so Friday. They're going to be to it. >> Russ, how you doing? >> I'm sorry. >> I did not. Uh when are they going to be to the bathrooms by the auditorium to go up >> for the sewer? >> They can do the sewers the

062water that they're that they need to go on to. So yeah, we have some time. >> Not much. So >> we probably better have a meeting, huh? >> We have we have before the next meeting. Yes, we have some time. Couple weeks. We already pre-written it down. >> We have a couple weeks. It sounded like it needed to be a little sooner. >> Free. Are you free? >> Next week. >> Yeah, I should try. >> We can do it next week. I >> can you hear what they're talking about? >> Not a word. >> Okay. So, buildings and ground committee meeting sometime next week. >> Yeah, >> Kyla's on your >> Oh, okay. Great. >> Yeah, >> I will be gone all next week. I'm sure that would be very um >> I can I

063leave to or Thursday so I can try tomorrow to get something together for you for that but or I haven't closed up the year. I don't really have any answers for you. >> You have a bad day, right? Tuesdays, Thursdays. >> No, I can if it's like 6 I do better with like 7:00 in the evenings. I can make any of that. 6:30 I can make. It's a little bit tight, but I can make 6:30. So I'm any any day of the week after 6:30 I can make >> feel the same. >> I love Tuesday. >> Would Tuesday at >> Devon work for you, Kyla? >> The 16th. >> I don't have >> Yes. >> Yeah, I think. Yeah, that would be good. >> Okay. >> Excellent. Thanks, Kyla. >> You bet. >> So, we

064got to write that down. So, >> I'll post that then. Um they give you enough time. >> July finish up for you. >> Previously we had a extracurricular meeting scheduled for July 14th. >> Yeah. Which is the next board meeting. >> 7 o'clock. >> Right. >> So right I think so. >> I think scheduled for six o'clock. >> Yep. Yep. >> That was extracurricular or policy? >> I can't remember. >> Extracurricular. uh discuss the like elementary middle school basketball situation so we can give those parents a heads up on what's what or and get their input. >> Yeah, I have ally written down on my last notes. >> Next Tuesday >> better Tuesday. >> It's on the calendar. Um, is there any other committee meeting we need to schedule? >> Yeah, we need a policy

065meeting. >> Okay. So, >> we got that big stack of policies that we got to go through. >> Are they statemandated? >> MTSBA. >> It's one of those. >> That one will probably take a little longer. Um, >> might I suggest with all due respect that you have that meeting after the 1st of July so that Greg Iver seemed to be here? >> Dave, >> just just saying it's up to you. But >> I was kind of thinking the 30th. See, we can get going a day early. >> Yeah, I've got a I'm have I think I have a personal day that day. Sorry. Um, we're gonna Let's see. We have policy is Nestie, myself, hail, Joe, Ellen. >> Do might have harvest in there. I know. She goes out and helps. >> Yeah. >>

066They say that, but then I never know till it happens. >> What? You going to try for the second? What's Thursday? >> I >> or 6:30 7:00 somewhere in there. >> Sure. 6:30 and I can talk. We'll reach out to Joel after the meeting and let her know. >> I think that that's fine for me. >> July 2nd. >> Yeah. >> July 2. >> Um 6:30. Okay. If we're tackling a large stack. >> Yeah. I'll leave work early and >> does anybody need those resent to them? >> It might be helpful. I'm sure I can find those >> work digitally. >> I would bet they're buried in my email. >> I'll communicate that to great. >> Thank you. >> Okay. Um any other committee meetings? >> Real short. Yeah, it won't take very long. It'll

067take I got I have that extracurricular one at 6:00 by the morning. >> Yeah. >> Do you want to do 5:30 before? >> It It won't take very long. >> For me, >> 15 minutes. Yeah. 15. >> We'll just cut extra curricular short and do it at 5:45 or 6:45. >> That's not going to happen. No, there's too many people. >> Oh, that that triples over too far. It I can foresee that one taking a little longer. >> Would you prefer like 5:45? >> Yeah, I mean it, like I said, it won't take very long. >> Will that work for everybody on there? >> I'll have to call in on that one. It's I'll just do it by phone. If that works, I'll just call yourself on the phone. >> Yeah. >> Extracurricular meeting 74

068the 14th at 5:45. >> No, transportation. >> Transportation. >> Extracurricular. >> Sorry. Yeah, that's that's at six. Okay. Transportation 14 >> like a busy month for committee meetings. >> We said 6 or 5:45. >> Okay. Anything else? and then >> and then >> okay so on to personnel um resignations I have two letters in front of me Jim and Vicky O'Hara have resigned as route bus drivers they will continue as extracurricular drivers and then Amanda Lewis has resigned as the assistant cook >> so that is currently open Um, anything else I see? >> Staff hiring. >> I would recommend to the board the hiring of Rob Tax as a high school science teacher. >> Some moved. >> Second. >> All those in favor? >> I >> uh I would recommend secondly the hiring of summer

069cleaning staff as posted in your agenda. Uh Corey, Kista, Mandy, Lynn, and Sarah. >> So moved. >> Second. All those in favor? >> I >> opposed. >> Also recommend the hiring of bus route your bus right route drivers for Pleasant Valley and the Carter route. >> Do we not have any >> Who are who are they? >> Did they come in sign contracts yet? >> No, but we have to hire them before I can give them a contract. Um, >> you can just hire route drivers. They don't have to have the route. >> Uh, Carter is garlic. >> And I don't know if I should say present value on. Do you want me to wait till next month just to make sure? Okay. So move >> second. >> Those in favor? >> I. >> Okay.

070Future agenda items. We'll hire the Pleasant Valley driver. >> Uh jumping back to that personnel bonus stuff with reduced kitchen staff. Are we able to do that bonus? technology the specific to custodial staff. So >> we have to go back to the union and do the whole thing and >> even for like wage changes too. >> Yeah. >> That that would require a whole >> that would be reopen negotiations if you did that and we don't want to do that till next >> yeah till we're a year away. >> Yep. >> 11 months. >> Gotcha. Unless the union fails. >> Okay. So, we have buildings and ground meeting, extracurricular policy, transportation, and then we'll move the Pleasant Valley route hiring to next agenda. Is there anything else? >> Okay. Maybe >> that's not yet. >>

071It is. We're going to hit you. Yeah. Well, it's it's I would say again, it's just been a pleasure of working here in Fort Ben and working with you and um I can't think of a better place I'd rather have been these last three years. So, thank you very very much for your support and encouragement and and uh I wish you all the best. Seriously. So, I'll certainly be cheering for you from a very short distance. >> Oh. Um when is your last day? Well, Cali and I have been kind of talking about that and honestly, I think I'm going to turn my keys in tomorrow. To be honest, tomorrow. I've got uh some uh personal leave and and vacation days to take. And uh so I think I'm I'm pretty close to being done

072with everything I need to wrap up, honestly. So, tomorrow might be my last day in the office. >> Wow. >> Yeah. Who am I going to call? My phone will still work for another couple weeks, but I didn't say how to answer, but the phone will still work. Yeah. >> And I like your >> Well, it's been my It's been my pleasure truly. So, >> yeah, it's been good. Okay. So, I need a motion to adjourn. >> So, move. >> All those in favor? >> I. >> Thanks, Py. >> Oh, you bet. Thank you. Bye >> bye.
