First, we have GRTC slideshow. just yell at Dawn when you want to change slides. >> I can see my eyes and I'm old. So like yeah, >> good evening. My name is uh cadet first lieutenant Kentry. I'm the ops squadron commander for the AFTC. I'm going to show you our three impact for the last four years. These are the this is the overview of what we will be

003talking about kind of our main focus. So our four areas of um emphasis are going to be our classroom what we learn which is aerospace science and leadership among other things. We will be talking about our leadership development requirements LDRs that we have ran through the past four years. uh our community service that we have done which includes political and the greater community and then our fund. So first we're going to start off with our LDRs. JAB is the junior RTC leadership and academic goal. Uh we have done two years of competing. We've gotten to level two each time. We've been improving. Uh we have a team of lower cadet and then a senior adviser. Uh they learn ACT prep, communication, leadership, teamwork through this and their goal was to go to Washington DC for

004a championship. Next we have March. The bolded names are the people who have who competed this year in the nationals in Alabama. Uh our team is really great. We do three positions. We've complete competed for the last three years. We've done six different postals. We have had two postals planned and we competed in two championships. Now we have archery. Uh archery through NASP and JOTC. We've done four JROTC postals and we've done state competitions. uh that all the list of names up there is the people who have competed in state this year. Cyber Patriot uh we have a numerous amount of people who who have really good cyber skills. They learn discipline, cyber security, ethnics, leadership, confidence, and we they won state in December of 25. >> Excuse me. These are our community service goals

005to start off each year. One of the community service events that we do is Flakes giving. Thanksgiving is hosted by the breakfast flakes breakfast flakes to provide families and buildings opportunity to make a meal on Thanksgiving. We have had a sorry one more. There you go. This year we had 11 cadetses do uh help us. We helped make o u over,300 meals in under two hours. We do multiple different color guards for walk and outside events including PR P teacher events in N banquetss. We did a color guard for the Pearl Harbor memorial and Chase Hawks banquetss. Ring a bell. Our cadets have partition participated in ring bell for the Salvation Army for the last three years. This year we did it twice at different locations. We did it at Hobby Lobby and Shields. Uh

006the ring bell is with the Salvation Army to raise money to provide meals and a Christmas to those who can't. The Chase Memorial, as I mentioned earlier, uh we help uh make programs and we help usher two people's seats uh at the event so we can make sure everything runs smoothly. We do awareness campaign posters to uh put around the school, even the middle school, we have some in there to kind of show what Montana and other people have been through. We a couple of them that we have done is Montana Native American tribes uh women's history month and Vietnam veterans. These are cadet made for the student body. Our 20 2025 and 2026 cadet impact. Our current community service statistics are we have 550 community service hours. We have 31 of 35 of our

007cadetses have over 90% um participation rate uh average of 14 hours per cadet. And our projected community service is we want we're wanting to have over or around 700 community service hours. 75% of our cadetses to have more than four hours and we're wanting to have an average of 21 hours per cent. Our 2024 and 25 community service goals we have exceeded last year. >> Right. >> And then our 2025 and 2026 community service goals we have also exceeded. We wanted to have at least eight hours community service um per cadet and we averaged 17 as of March. So, now we're moving on to the changing for the changing lives portion of what RTC. We have had so many cadets do amazing things with their lives after RTC, but we're just going to focus on

008the ones that are graduating this year. Jaden Nichols is a four-year cadet. He helps our RTC. He has just scored into the delayed entry program into the Air Force and he's ready to go after he graduates. And we have Sam, he's also uh founder of the Lockwood ROTC here and he has just received a three-year Army ROTC scholarship to the University of Montana. So over the past four years, uh we have had over 1,800 community service hours just in RTC. Uh for the Salvation Army, we have raised over $13,000, which has averaged over $45,000 a year or $4,500 a year, sorry. For flex giving over the last three years, we've have made around 3,000 meals. We have done 55 color guards for the Lockwood and Greater Village community. We have started and ran six different

009LDRs. We have won multiple awards which include a national championship. And for our past cadetses, we have three in or going to a college ROC. We have nine going or gone to college. One has earned his private pilot's license and four have joined or are joining the military. >> Are there any questions? Next we have John Copelman Kowanas. >> I didn't know he would come out here. Okay, reach out and see if we can get him rescheduled. Uh, next we have FFA International Trip Update. >> You're welcome. Thank you. Thank you. Rest my hands up. So, I know last time we talked about the trip, Don was gonna check on something. I think that's what we were waiting on about >> insurance. Our insurance won't cover them going to a front >> and that's why

010this would stay and I when I came up this should would be just no different than um EF trip. It would be an independent trip from the school. Do you have a sponsor or is it >> It's still be individual sponsor. Parents just have to know. When I when I reached out their organizations, it's it's they you can do it. I mean, it just it's just not a school sponsor as long as the parents. Okay. >> That was the part that wasn't clear because you kept saying it was a lot that F. >> No, it would just be anyone interested in act. >> Okay. That's that's totally different. We're doing that independently, not >> right. Well, with that, the only thing you need to do is ask the board for authorization to put up signage.

011>> The only thing >> we'd have to put that on the next board's agenda item. >> No problem. Should be an action point. >> Yep. >> So, >> that's it. >> Thank you. >> Next, employee recognition. I'm going to start with the boards. >> I got to make sure I get the right ones here. Uh, this is for Corey Shock in recognition of his three years of service with the Lockwood School Board. Sure. There we go. >> Thank you. And this next one is Christy Hartley. She was only here a year, but she had a great impact. >> And then has the other ones have Kathy Johnson and Darling, please come forward. So I've had the pleasure of working with these two individuals for the entire time I have been here and you're looking at

01281 years of experience school districts. Congratulations on 36th for 45 years. All right. Next, we're going to go into reports facilities. >> Evening everyone. So, keep up at the same time. >> Can we keep the snow plows on until July? Because Wyoming just got smoked. >> That'll work. >> Any questions? >> Last year, I remember hearing something about ticks and snakes. Is that an issue this year? >> Okay. >> That's what I wondered. >> Stay in the building. Thank you. >> Any other questions? Thank you, Mark. Uh, next is primary report. >> Hi everybody. I submitted my report and com things going on. You have any questions? >> Everything go good with the book fair and everything? >> Great. Great to know. Do you have an estimate of how many kindergarteners you may have next

013year? >> We don't. It's pretty comfortable right now where we are this time of year. So, you never know what's health end of July, August, we're just right about where we usually are. >> Okay. >> No need to worry yet. >> Yet. Any other questions? Thank you. primary intermediate. >> Good evening, Wleywood Board. Um, so a lot of good things uh happening in the month of May. We did uh a literacy night not too long ago. We had a pretty good turnout uh reflection. However, it seems like we were competing with little league, of course. So we'll um you know thinking and moving ahead we'll do that more winter, January, February time so that more students can attend because there were a lot of sad faces that you know they had you know all other

014things. Um but we did have students ride their bikes um that aren't in our walk zone um because they wanted to join us after school. So that really um was really important to a lot of our staff. Uh another huge highlight was the third, fourth, and fifth grade concerts. Um if you were not able to attend, I would highly encourage you to uh just the amount of talent that is pulled out of our kids uh and the passion that Miss Gett has. Uh it just if you watch um a concert you will fully understand. So just all the kudos to the kids that gave so much time and practice their little hearts out to do such an amazing job. Um and kids you know that I just you know it's unexpected and they they step

015up and fill in big shoes and big parts and so just I don't know just so much fun and I can't wait to smile off my face from last week. Um we do we are running with summer school. Uh we have 15 students that will participate. Um and that's you know pretty good. It's it's hard to have at least commit but we are really excited with those numbers and we have a few staff members that are willing to also um you know do that during their summer. Uh testing is coming to an end. So this Friday is uh the end of the windows closing. So with testing our fifth grade tends to get hit. We have our NWA testing. Uh that is our district testing for third, fourth, fifth. Uh then we have mass testing

016that actually starts that's our statemandated testing and it starts in third grade. So uh third, fourth and fifth all do that. And then fifth grade gets hit with the additional science test. So so those windows are uh ending this Friday. But again we are concluding those and um teachers are ready to be done too as long as long as the kids. Uh and then one other positive thing uh that we get to, you know, keep a tradition for two years in a row now. Our fifth graders get to go to Lake Elmo um for like their big last hurra um and fish, wildlife, and parks sponsors a lunch for them. All the kids get fishing poles. They get to um go fishing and you know, a lot of kids haven't done that and so it's

017just a really good opportunity for them and looking forward to that as well. Uh however, if you have any questions, I'd be certainly happy to answer them. Any questions? >> Thank you. >> Middle school. >> Hello everybody. Uh this past month was a was a great month for us. Uh we had our last house games and our house champion for the school year was determined. Houseto ended up coming out on top 34 points ahead of house also. um saw some really good uh attendance from House Alt Trismo over the course of the year. Their house averaged 92.3% attendance and so that was the top of many of our houses um overall for the year. I know we were over 91% so was our best attendance we've had in a number of years this year as

018well. Uh just like Miss Wolf said, we've been finishing up testing doing our NWA testing, our math testing. our eighth graders have to do their science exam for the state as well. So, we're we're glad to be moving beyond that and breaking down those NWA scores for our students. I know our interventionists have been hard at breaking down the data to make sure we're supporting all of our kids and planning for for next year with that as well. Uh we had a band concert last week in conjunction with the high school. It was outstanding performance. If you've never been to one of our our middle school, high school band concerts, like I I encourage you to attend. It really is truly a joy to to watch our kids perform. Uh Mr. Ruff just does an

019exceptional job with our students. Um this next week we we have a choir concert on the 28th, I believe it is. Um so that's coming up. Uh we have our end of the year eighth grade awards assembly actually awards assembly for all students on the last day of school 8:30 a.m. parents guardians we need is invited to attend that as as well. Um when we follow that up with an eighth grade barbecue at the end of the day typically they reached out to board members and asked if you would like to come and flip hot dogs and hamburgers and and you know hand out food if you'd like. That's that's June 3rd. So, um, we'd love for for any of you who can attend to come and help. Um, >> is that like two >>

020What's that? >> 2 o'clock. >> No, probably there about 11:00 probably good. The last day of schools at 1:00 release and so we'll start probably the burners and everything about 10:30 and and get everything kind of going and start serving probably about 11 o'clock. So, here people come. Uh we have our National Junior Honor Society induction ceremony coming up next week on Tuesday uh at 4:30 uh in the middle school commons. Uh we have a group of eighth graders in Washington DC this week uh with Mrs. Dawson and Mr. Hardle. They took a a group out there and they've been sending me pictures of of all the fun stuff they're doing. They're just having a wonderful time and we're really appreciative of our staff taking personal days to take students there to get to experience

021that. So really speaks to the volume and character of our staff. Um and that's all I have. You guys have any questions for us? >> Are you going to keep the house going next year? >> Absolutely. >> Mark, when did you say uh honor society was? National Junior Honor Society induction ceremony is May 26th at 4:30 p.m. Also, I do want to announce also, I guess, um that um we uh are are happy to announce that we received a donation from Western Security Bank for $2,000 to our house system to pay for the house app that we use uh that we keep track of all of our student points and so forth. So, uh, we'll be, you know, taking pictures and and posting that, sharing that out as well. Really appreciative of the the community

022businesses that support our our students. So, >> thank you, Mark. Any other questions? >> Next is high school. >> Hello. We have nothing going on with the high school, not scheduling is nearly done. Where we're at with that for next year is our counselors now will take over auditing the schedules to make sure that um one their schedule's full that if they have a year one course like English that they have both a semester 1 and a semester 2 that they're meeting their graduation requirements and then from now until the end of year and then additionally there are three days after school that's out and our counselors will be on site. We'll get that advertised that if kids want to come in or parents want to come in um and help uh you know pick

023some classes um fulfill those graduation or just check in with their counselors, we'll have those available. We'll get those out through um Infinite Campus and our social media accounts. Um all requests for band have been satisfied. So 49 kids asked for band and 49 kids got banned for next year. So we're excited about that. How we did that was we added a section of van um which does make things a little bit more difficult for our instructor um to have a separate band. Um but you know it's one thing that he was willing to do with us to see if we could um help reach four years of uh requests for band and I'm really confident that we'll try this next year and it'll be successful. Uh senior sunset was last night. It had great

024attendance. We've already posted on social media. It looked like it was a fun time like it always is. Um, there was a lovely camping activity afterwards. Um, and I'll tell you what, couldn't have been more pleased with that. It was really well done, very tasteful, fun. I did get to tour a camper, loved it. Um, it was just a lot of fun. Our maintenance crew left. There was not any work for our staff upon return. There was no disruption to our classes. kids could come in um and and take a test if they had to. Um because our building was secure and ready for kids. I couldn't say enough about how cool your suns have been and a light can be trip. Um I won't call it what it is. It was just a camp

025trip. Um end of the year's assembly. Again, you'll notice that you have someone new sitting at your table. Um it was exciting. As we end a year, we also start the next year. Um and and so our end of year assembly was uh really ran 100% by our student council and it was neat to see the changing of the guard um who opened us up with our freshman uh orientation day last August. Um really turned that over to our new crew uh for this end of the year assembly and that was a lot of fun. Um and so really grateful to Mr. part for leading that as the student counselor advisor, but for our students taking that ownership and also for us for letting that control go. It's been a lot of fun to let

026it go and know that our goal obviously is to graduate our students, but it's also I want them to look back at high school and say that was fun. I want to go to my university. Um, and so that's one of the things that we've got to provide the adults that's not really helping them become leaders, but it's also not capitalizing on this is their school. These are why the walls are built. Um, two students uh submitted and were approved for a correspondence course. Um, I advertised that through Infinite Campus daily announcements and social media repeatedly. Um, we had two students request those and were approved. Just waiting for their sheets to come back and moving forward. Um, we are we have hired all of our staff for next year. we had we we really

027um haven't been in this position at this time of the year where we had our openings uh filled and that we had multiple applicants to interview and select from. That felt really really really good. Um I'm very excited about our um staff next year uh more as we move forward on this but a thing that we will be um beginning with our our staff next fall is capturing kids hearts. So, I I feel like we really hired applicants that are going to um come right into that and help our place be a better place for our staff as well as our students. Uh graduation walk because here we are, it is May graduation walk um for the class of 2026 is next Wednesday, May 27th, uh at 9:00. I've been advertising that. So, our students

028to come and uh bring their cap and gown and then we'll walk um throughout the campus uh giving them to a chance to go see the elementary. It's going to look really small to them. Uh they always remark about how small those those uh classrooms look or the water fountains, things like that. So, it's fun for them. And we'll finish up at the high school. When we finish up, we'll move into a graduation rehearsal um so that everyone knows where they're seated, where to tell their parents where they're seated so that they can get the best pictures um and and that that will go smoothly. Um really looking forward to that. It's a fun day to get to watch them do their rehearsal in the grad. Graduation is Sunday, May 31st at 1 p.m. Our

029doors will open at noon. Um and then uh board could please let Don know if you're attending so I can have um secrets of that you still get that information. That's all I have for tonight. If you have any questions, >> if incoming freshman don't have their schedules assigned yet, should they be reaching out to school? >> While our counselors um have already walked over twice towards the middle school um and so all of our students um are scheduled. >> Okay. that they have like our our kids that are in the in the in the house. >> Uh they have theirs. Um so our sophomores have those um but we need to be our kids active and program but all of our students have those request. >> Yeah, it is updated. It's not live. >>

030Any other questions? >> Thank you. Next, I'm going to move to student council report. I'd like to introduce everybody to Mr. Hansen, also known as Robbie. That's why I know you as Congratulations on being the pick of your peers to represent the entire Steuart body on the board. Um, I'd like to point out one thing that uh Robbie has already been reading our policies and he has already had a meeting with Mr. Chrisman about what he expects and what he wants. So, buckle up. >> Uh, do you have anything to report? >> Yeah. Um, so April 25th, we had our community carnival run by student council. Um, to be completely honest, we were a little disappointed in ourselves and how we ran that event. It was not as well of a turnout um as we've

031had in previous years. uh renew I guess you could say administration is student council is very focused on next year improving that and getting it back to the level and above the level we've had in previous years. >> Um we did our kiss a senior goodbye fundraisers which you can buy for a small amount of money a little candy gift give to a senior before graduation. uh good term quite successful. Um we've had our elections um I don't remember the exact numbers Mr. Hart told me but he does believe that we've had both the most um people run for a position that we've ever had the student council and we had the most people vote that we've ever had. Um, so that was really good to see um, a lot of kids getting involved more

032and more every year. Um, moving into next month, we'll be doing the reserving and painting a parking spot for in upcoming seniors and we'll also be covering up uh, the old parking spots. And I believe that's >> love it. Will you be coming during the summer? >> Yes. >> Okay. Is there anything planned for the summer? >> Not yet. >> Okay. >> Pass the parking spots. I have not. >> Okay. I look forward to that. Thank you, Robbie. Any other questions for student council? >> Do you have any specific policies that you have listed like that or you're just looking at them in general? I've just been going through the policy boat trying to learn my way through the >> From what I understand, he's gone through the 1000s already. >> Good job, Robbie. >>

033Any other questions? >> All right, next superintendent report. >> I've listed the activities and things that we had been doing at the district for the last month. Our open enrollment was at 100 when I put this together. that is now up to 116 and Mr. Kinsey has a breakdown of that as to what building those are from but going into so if you would like to share those that would be wonderful. This was about a midafter afternoon. It was 110 something like that. I think it spl but um that included primary had 25 occupations, intermediate had 16, middle school had 23 and high school had 47 I believe. >> Sorry, but that's not a competition. >> Um returning kids to later on and 22 that's one still. Okay, that's it. Okay, next we're going to

034go to board reports. Golden gavvel. Everybody has completed the gold gavvel for 2526, right? That's the year we're in. >> Okay. Uh, schoolboard goals haven't changed. Building visits, I believe we all got building visits done. >> Excellent. Next, we're going to go to committee updates. Committee updates are budget committee. We haven't had a meeting. We don't have an update yet. Um, we'll after the reorganization of the board. We'll see where committees land. Uh, CareerFare Corey, I'd like to say thank you for putting that on. I've heard wonderful things about many people about kids getting ready, kids getting job offers at the job fair. So, thank you for putting that on for all these years. Next is negotiations committee. >> Uh we were scheduled to have a meeting today and uh the union rep asked that

035it be cancelled and it's not rescheduled at this point. >> Okay. Community engagement. >> So we had uh our last meeting of the school year and we just kind of did some prep work looking to next year. kind of set our goals and plotted out the schedule roughly. We're going to work with uh the building facilities director to make sure not the director but the whoever plans all things activities to make sure these dates work. We're looking at tenatively August 30th for the car show >> and we will do a planning meeting uh a month before that. the rest of our meetings, we're going to keep continue shooting for the first Tuesday of the month as long as uh that works on the schedule. And um our goals for this next year, we want to

036focus on growing engagement, activity, involvement in the football games, band concerts, all that kind of stuff. We want to focus on bringing more, you know, grade school kids to the high school football games and vice versa, getting high school kids to show up to the kids concerts and all that kind of stuff and more family members and more community members just showing up. So Jake will be coordinating with you on some more ideas that we've already kind of started to talk to him about. But that's our goal for next year as well as to continue to grow the committee because we still are a very small committee which this committee is open to the public and I say that every meeting would love to have more people. Uh, will be sworn in as a trustee

037by >> I do solemnly swear >> that will support, protect and defend I support, protect, and defend >> the Constitution of the United States >> Constitution of the United States >> and the Constitution of the State of Montana >> and of the Constitution of the State of Montana. >> And I will discharge the duties of my office with fidelity. >> And I will discharge the duties of my office with fidelity. >> Congratulations. Welcome. >> Repeat after me. I do solemnly swear >> I do solemnly swear >> that I will support, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States >> the Constitution of the United States >> and the Constitution of the State of Montana >> and the Constitution of the State of Montana >> and that I will discharge the duties of my office

038with fidelity. >> that I will discharge the duties of my office with fidelity. >> Congratulations. Welcome. I'll have you sign these before really >> uh next we have the election of officers. Every year the board reorganizes so at this time they're going to be the chair and then vice chair. So at this time I will take nominations nomination for Lacy for chair. Got a second from Jackie. All those in or discussion from the public discussion from the board. All those in favor of uh Lacy or board chair say I. All those opposed same sign. Hearing no motion passes. >> You want me to start running? >> Yeah. Okay. Um, at this time we'll not uh go with vice chair. So at this time I'll take nominations for vice chair. I'd like to nominate Jackie for

039a second. >> Hold on. I have a first from charity and a second from Dave for Jackie for vice chair of the board. Any discussion from the public? Any discussion from the board? All those in favor say I. >> All those opposed, same sign. >> Welcome, Jackie. >> I'm a little rusty, so bear with me. Um, the next agenda item is a mo a recommendation for the board to appoint Dian Nelson as the clerk of the board. At this time, I'll take a motion. I move we appoint Deian Nelson as the board. Second. >> I have a first from Josh and a second from Shane to appoint Deian Nelson as the clerk of the board. Any questions from the public? Any questions from the board? All those in favor say I. >> I. >> All

040those opposed same side. Okay. Welcome to asking the next motion to include my name from that because my I'm currently the authorities on 30th. This is for next year. >> Mr. Okay. >> So, which Thank you. >> So, just repeat after me. >> Yeah. I do solemnly swear or affirm >> I do solemnly swear or affirm >> that I will support, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. >> I will support, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States >> and the con constitution of the state of Montana >> and the Constitution of the State of Montana >> and that I will discharge the duties of my office with the discharge the duties of my office. Okay. The next agenda item is to recommend that the board designate Yan Nelson to serve

041as the district's authorized representative at the board's district. So, what Don just mentioned is that he is we're removing his name since he is resigning. Um, typically what I've seen is that we can appoint someone else in that position, the board chair. Um, so at this time, I'll just take a motion for that recommendation of who we want to designate to serve as the district's authorized representatives. I motion to amend the recommendation, removing Don's name and replacing it with Lacy Collins's name. um with clarification that the board's discretion is exercised by formal board action and that authority and limitations are clearly defined in document. >> Okay. So, let me make sure I understand that. Charity, do we have a second first before I repeat or do you have questions? Shane, >> I didn't do that

042again. >> Do you want to repeat your motion, please? Um I motion to amend on um removing Dod's name and replacing it with Lacy Roland's name with clarification that the board's discretion is exercised by formal board action and that the authority and limitations are clearly defined and documented >> just said we could I think >> no can I make a comment on this though the authorized representative The group that I'm taking off of is the one that accesses all the ements for the state of Montana and does all the the budget work with DNA. That's my authorized representative. So it would be somebody in the district office has to be able to log in and do the egrants and that stuff. If you take that job, you can't do that. >> No, that's not what

043I was doing. So you may want to consider in June looking at the district office. I'm giving some of them that permission because they have to be able to access those applic you >> field that and find out who was going to be able to do that because in June 30th I won't be able to access any of that in New York and it's paramount that's done in July and August. But from now we're okay just >> and I'm going to get as much done as I can but some of it doesn't come open until July and August. So it's paramount somebody upstairs has the ability to get in there and work with Dean. >> So at this point we're just leaving Deian. >> Okay. >> But I'm still authorized through June >> June 30th.

044Yeah >> from last year. >> This is for the new school year. Okay. Thanks for the clarification. So Charity you had it first. Do you want to motion that again without >> Yes. Can I do I have to repeat it all again? >> Well, without wording it. >> Just a motion to amend the recommendation removing Don's name, leaving Deion's name. Um that the board's discretion is exercised by formal board action and that the authority and limitations are clearly divided up. >> Got a question. Yeah, just one sec. I heard a second. Did I hear a second or did I not? Dave. Okay, now I'll take discussion from the public. Sue, would you like to speak, please? >> Thank you, Madam Chair. Um, my only concern is if Don is removed tonight, then there's not a

045second authorized person through June 30th. No, I'm in until June 30th because I was approved last year because it it goes into the fiscal year. >> Perfect. Thank you. >> Do we need to clarify that? >> No, I call >> this for the 20 for the new school. >> Yeah. >> Perfect. Okay. Thanks. >> I I would like the motion repeated so I can understand. >> A motion to amend the recommendation removing Don's name and just leaving Deian's name. with clarification that the board's discretion is exercised by the formal board action and that the authority and limitations are clearly defined in document. If the motion is just to amend the recommendation then we're not actually voting on this item we're voting on the amendment and not the item itself just the amendment. So right so

046>> what board authorized action are you referring to? just that any action taken be by the formal word action. >> So the board has to approve any action that would happen. >> Well, I think if we discussed what authoriz authorized representatives might entail and we can do that either quickly now or at another meeting. >> Can I just ask that we visit that at another meeting? >> Yeah. So what you're wanting to understand is what that entails with giving that award please. >> So at this time >> so you want us to vote on this motion before the board without the definition of the board's represent representative authorizations because once we vote on this it's in. There's no going back and revisiting it. Right. So, what the motion on the table right now is that

047she would like to recommend the motion cherry, correct me if I'm wrong, that you that we designate Deianne Nelson to serve as the district's authorized representative at the board's discretion, which I believe I heard you say state that it is that board or with clarification that board discretion is exercised by formal board action. Which formal board action? Does that mean we have to meet to conduct the board action? Because the authorized representation that we're talking about right now is to access egrants and to apply for grants. Does that mean that this has nothing to do with us as a board meeting? This is dayto-day district operations that we're talking about. >> So I think what I'm understanding is just clarification on what this is, right? what what what it includes. Thank you. >> The authorized

048representatives that we're talking about here are the individuals that are able to contact OB on the district to contact our law firm if there is something that we need to talk about legally. It has nothing to do with taking the action outside of that. It's to be able to access all of the budget and egrant systems to be able to apply for the grants that OPI puts out. It's not about it's the day-to-day operation and it's theable of up to spending up to 80,000 that stuff that we just do day-to-day operations. This is nothing outside of that. Everything else happens to come to the board. I can't I can't randomly say we're going to do something without it coming to the board. This is a day-to-day operations. The budget and activity. So, it's that's what

049we're talking about. That's why I said I think it's paramount you can find someone in the district office that can start working with me so that I can get folders together so that they can start accessing and I can still zoom in help with getting that done but it's paramount somebody's able to access the state system as the authorized representative and it takes time for them to get that transfer up there when they let so >> and with the motion as it stands every decisions have to be a decision >> and it does say a board's discretion so that's understand okay So I will do it again. >> Yes, please motion. >> I motion to amend the recommendation removing Don Chrisman's name and leaving just Nielson's name >> to serve as the district's authorized representative

050at the discretion. >> I have a first from charity >> discussion. More discussion from the public. More discussion from the board. >> Ready to approve. Thank you. All those in favor say I. >> I. >> All those opposed, same sign. Uh second consent agenda, the request to hire. Any objections to the consent agenda as presented for the request hire? Any objections to the consent agenda for the request to hire? Any objections to the second consent agenda for the request to hire? Not hearing any. That that's a um so I'm going to ask for clarification from Josh or Don on this item. the individual present to go into they have the option of an executive session. >> Okay. >> But that nothing here is going to change and we don't need to do that because we're

051not discussing anything else than what is out there. >> I wanted to give the individual if they present the right to do executive session. >> Okay. We may need a motion to go into executive session for legal matters. >> Not unless something else is uh discussed. If everything here on the agenda is not information, the only thing that would have to be is that you would have to recognize has to recognize that the public's right to know is outweighed by the person's right to privacy. So if you decide not to go into executive session, we don't have to go into session. >> Okay. Well, so I guess just based on other information, I would like to request that we go into executive executive session to talk about legal and personnel matters. At this time due

052to the fact that matters of individual privacy where the demands of individual privacy clearly exceed the merits of public disclo disclosure and legal strategy related to potential or pending litigation where an open meeting would have a detriment effect on the district's litigation process. We will not be any final Yes, Miss Benson. >> Thank you, Madam Chair. I would just point out that any personnel can wave their right to privacy if they so choose and then the meet their portion of the meeting would remain. >> Sounds good. Thank you. >> So at this time is there can I have a vote on if we can enter if you guys agree if we enter executive session to talk about matters. >> Yeah. Yes. Do you guys agree or do you want to stay? I think it can

053stay open. So >> yeah, >> we have questions, >> but it's related to legal matters. >> So I'm asking if you guys would like to enter an executive session to talk about legal matters related to agenda item. Yes, >> I would like to to make sure I fully understand before we have open public discussion. >> I don't understand. So I would like to understand >> this is not how we have to have a motion. We have seconds. If you decide that we need to go into executive session chair privilege to decide that you're going to enter. So if there's not a motion, you can't individual without a motion. >> I motion that we enter into executive discussion or legal decision. >> That's not >> okay. >> Sue, would you like to >> Sorry, you can

054show me the door if you want. Madam Chair, it's it's the chairwoman's discretion whether the whether to close the meeting or not. >> Thank you. >> Okay. I would like to enter into executive session to talk about legal matters. Don't take Really? >> I would say I don't think >> the personel If we want to argue about don't start yet. >> I'm confused. Right. Thanks a lot. Thanks. So the board has concluded its executive session. We are now back into session. No final actions taken during the executive session. At this time we will move to agenda item G and take a motion. I move the board approve their for the DOTC instructor position effective at the conclusion of the 2526 school year for the 277 school year. >> Second. >> I have a first from

055Stacy and a second from Josh to approve the RIP of one JOTC instructor position effected at the conclusion of the 2526 school year with the 2026 27 school year. discussion from the public. >> Not about the motion, but can I ask you to talk a little bit about? >> Sure. >> Any other questions? Uh, discussion from the board. All those in favor say I. >> All those opposed, same sign. >> That motion passes. >> Did you say no? >> Yes. If you get uh say it louder so I can get it. That would be great. Thank you. >> Okay, let's move on to the handbooks. The special education handbook. Don, would you like to speak on this? >> Um this was done by our special ed director Laura Baluchcci. And there um she said there

056was very little change. She updated the OPI parental rights notice. The rest of it specialized stays pretty much common for five years and you can start to change. So it is pretty much the standard IP posted process 504 if they involve those kind of things here. So she did update the dates and times for the next year in here in relation to anything coming from OPI. So it was pretty much just an update on dates and protocol >> any I'll take a motion on the recommendation to approve the special educ. to approve the special education handbook. >> You a second. >> Any questions from the public on the special education handbook? Any questions from the board on that handbook? >> All those in favor say I. >> I. >> All those opposed sign. Not hearing

057any. That motion passes. Okay. Next agenda item is to approve the requested change in mileage for bus route 10. >> The letter from Yellowstone County. They've already approved this for 90 days. So this approval will get us through the end of the school year. We don't have to go and have every other district vote on it. They granted us through the end of the school year >> and the I'd like to >> uh Lockwood Route 10 was disrupted when they tore up Old Harden Road. So all of our buses had to be rerouted because we they took it off at Mac was the last one that they could do. So it added extra mileage and to be reimbured for this and the road construction. Thanks for that confl. >> The first from Stacy and a

058second from Josh to approve the requested change in mileage for the bus route 10. Any questions from the public about that? um a comment more than a question, but on that same note with the construction, um I think that's going to be an ongoing issue all next year. We're bus route 13 and from day to day, my daughter doesn't know if they're picking her up on our street or if she has to walk a block away. So, it's the constant construction. >> They've also pushed uh Noblewood back at to the school. So, all of Noblewood will be torn up. So wonderful. >> Any other questions or discussions from the board on that? All those in favor say I. >> I. >> All those opposed, same sign. That motion passes. The next agenda item is a

059recommendation to approve a 2% increase in the base for special education specialists. Don, would you like to speak to? >> Yes. We have um the luxury of having a full-time school psychologist on campus. Um, Sigret finished her degree this year and is now officially certified as a school psychologist. And we also have the luxury of 2.3 speech pathologists on our campus. They average 60 people or 60 students on each other case loads and serve the entire district. 2% on their base will result in a raise altogether of about $8,000 that comes from the title one fund which is a yearly renewable grant and has no impact on funds. And um the 2% gives them about what the teachers would be getting this year with their steps on there. So it's worked out to about a

0603.5 or 3.7. >> I'll make a motion to start. I move that we accept the uh 2% increase to the special education school or psychologist one school and the pathologist. >> Second. >> So I have a first from Josh and a second from Jackie to approve the 2% increase to the base for special education specialists. Any questions from the public on this one? found questions from the board. I have a question. I have two questions. Um I'm assuming we can use that money to do those things with the title one funding. >> It already does. >> It allows it to >> our special ed funding pays for very little. >> Yeah. >> And then that can change every year or is it pretty set? >> It goes up. It's going up right now. So we

061receive quite a bit more this year than we did last year. There may be a little bit of a reduction, but it doesn't go down. Like especially funding is down $140,000 now. Our title one funding is going up. So >> we wouldn't have to worry about the general fund absorbing any notion and I figured that out when we need salaries. Those do not interact with that general fund if you set their salaries in there. We've done that now for quite a while because there's just not enough special. I'd like to point out one thing that title one and special ed funding are two completely different special funding and title special goes up and down title is pretty consistent. Yeah, I've never seen special go down like it has in the last couple of years, but

062the one has stayed steady and we know at least a phase of what we're going to get. So then we can move other things to other areas if we have but none of it goes to the back of the never had to go out. We don't have enough. It's all budgeted. >> We don't have enough to to support what we're doing right now. We've never had that problem. >> No, we can't because it has to be set up on approve it before we can budget. So it has to be set up before September committee. You can usually get it done in office. Other questions the board. All those in favor say I. >> All those opposed same sign. Not hearing any. That motion passes. Uh next agenda item is to approve the board to approve

063ending of the community eligibility program for our food services and set meal pricing for the rates. John, can you speak? >> So, we have struggled with continuing with the green eligibility program because of the fact that the costs that were accumulating are not being covered by the reimbursements we received from the government. So, although it was a great thing that we could offer that for a few years, next year would have been our last year anyway. And at this point right now, if they continue, it's going to cost the district $34,000 a month next year to continue to provide free breakfast and lunch for everybody. So, we contacted OPI and their specialist sent us this estimation. If we continue doing what we're going to be doing, it'll be around 25,000 in the hole every month

064in the K5 or K8 and around 7,000 in the hole for the high school. Even if we only have free free for everyone C and the K8 and have the high school pay, we'd still be losing $7,000 a month in the high school. So it's not she said that's not even feasible because we were looking at trying to hang on to it to some. Um also I think our free and reduced rates our number or poverty percentages have decreased in some areas. Have they not? Yeah, I think they'll, you know, they take a snapshot when you're in C >> and that snapshot stands um they'll re snapshot it'll never go down. So, um I know what the snapshot is and it is less than what our C was um and so that we would it

065wouldn't uh take effect to this C, but I kind of um want to back this up and saying uh when we started CPE, we had a cash balance in the lunch in the um lunch um fund of 342,00 knowing that that would take probably three years to use those funds out because it's kind of it fluctuates how much um the district pays um out of lunch fund every month for this. It's not 100% reimbured. Last year we paid 28,000. We were 28,000 um that we had paid and this year so far we're we've exceeded our $342,000 cash balance. we are in the red and that um is going to have to come from somewhere and we still have you know um May and we have one more month so I'm expecting probably about $40,000 deficit

066in the lunch fund that we have to pay for out of the general fund. Um we Don and I have to figure out where that money is going to come. It's just not a sustainable thing now. >> Quicker than we expected. >> The cost will of course and now the cost of everything has gone up and nobody can pick that anyway. So if and I really feel personally very strongly about providing free breakfast and free lunch for everybody because we know that a lot of the kids here that's where they get their breakfast and lunch. I think there's a a belief that we're taking away free and reduced lunches. Those applications will be available when they come back from the state and they're released and we will spend the summer getting those out to comm

067to to community members that want to apply if they'll qualify. That doesn't go away. It will just return to if you don't qualify for free or reduced then it'll be a paid lunch program again. >> Are we getting is this going to impact the summer program? >> No, it's free already. It's free already. >> What did you mean when you said that this goes away next year anyways? our next year was our fourth year and probably wouldn't their third probably wouldn't have qualified anyway to do the whole district again left again and I looked at maybe >> they would reertify and you know showing less sure >> it's not going to get better I mean we lucked out when they changed the levels to qualify and it looked great at the time but this is

068not about chartwells or sedex or anybody else it's just not cost effective anymore >> and what were we doing before we were on this program you Can you explain how it was handled if there were kids whose parents weren't paying and they were showing up to school and they didn't have money for lunch and where's that money? >> Well, we were lucky enough to have a community organization step up to pay off $14,000 of unpaid lunch debt at the end of the time when we went to CD. >> And so the money comes from the lunch account. Yeah. >> I mean that's it's that has been built up for years and years and years for us to be able >> to do seeds. Now that's gone. That >> it's completely gone. >> So this coming

069year if if kids show up and they need a lunch, >> they get fed. >> They'll get fed. And then somebody in the >> community sets up or the school will find the way to >> I have to say school districts have campaigns to get those. They do. We just don't want to let it get to $14,000, right? >> I mean Ruth Pentecost he used to manage Sedexo here and I spent hours trying to get those solid. I mean, we called we raised $8,000 one summer to try to offset it, but it was just really hard to get ahead of because they got support. >> I mean, nobody I mean, that's the hard part of charging. Um, but we I there's no other option for us. >> I can't stress enough how important it is

070that the community fill out the green reduced lunch papers. It's not only that does not only do us for the free and reduced lunch, it also qualifies us for a numerous amount of grants that Don has found for us because it goes off of our socioeconomics of our district and our community. So, even if you don't think you can qualify for it, fill it out. Yeah. Get it turned back in. >> Are those sent out electronically? >> It'll be published once we get them. not released from the state yet for the next school year, >> but it will be electronic on our website. Uh it will they just started doing electronic um >> last year and you know we didn't have to do it um because we can't collect that if we're in C. But

071direct search still get free. I mean that's it's that's >> and previously before that the district was happy if we got 40% participation with free and reduced lunch signups. That was a killer year for us. >> So, what's the plan to reach more families to get those filled out? >> Boy, I know the secretaries do their declare stuff that sent >> we could do open house. Yeah, it's always at open house. Um, >> really has done it. Lisa has done it for years and it's no I mean the staff the principles they'll look at a lunch balance and say hey I think you know we keep reaching out and reaching out and reaching out we do everything except for drive to their house and fill it out for them. So um >> what are the

072costs associated with you know the workload of that program of of managing all that like >> well we I mean it's already in >> more work for who's already here we don't have to hire somebody to manage all that >> we do it in our office >> so someone will start it again basically >> this has already set out what's called the sun bucks for the summer feeding program so people with EBT cards can apply and get a Sunbuck card which goes on at their EBT and helps provide groceries over So she's she's already got that going. >> Lisa will help her with the application process. Go back to doing online or paper and then certifying that correctly. So we have people in place that have done this for >> Is there a way if

073we're going to lose it next year anyway or the following year the end anyway to just remove either breakfast or lunch and just ease the impact? >> We ask for all options for that. We lose a lot of money on breakfast. We're only reimbursed a small amount but charged the full amount. So that's really where the offset is. >> You can't do just one. >> No, they program. Yeah. And that's through the USDA. That's not to us. Yeah. >> The actual numbers of what that program cost us and what they reimbured us to date. >> Yeah. Like last year. >> Last year. >> Oh, last year. Like I'm just kind of curious as to what how much that costs and how much we're getting reimbursed. Does that make sense? Like the percentage of it even

074though I know our reimbursements didn't come near what we were paying because they reimbured a full pay for a certain percentage of kids that are that are percentage of free and reduced poverty level above that then it's like seven cents a meal. So it it doesn't pay when you're charging when you're paying 360 a meal and you're getting seven cents back. And do we get other benefits? Do we get other benefits? Like you're saying we get access to different grants when we have so many applications filled out. Are we getting those? >> Go back. The only thing that'll change is it'll go back to an actual building level. Like primary is usually higher. Intermediate is usually higher. Middle school is hard because kids say, "I don't want I don't want to be on free lunch."

075And so parents don't report as much, but we really push that because they have a really high rate of participation in middle school. We're just going to have to be able to get that out to the public and say this is where the go. But it'll be like primary free and reduc or free and reduced rate is 82%. Intermediate might be 70%. It just you just have to break it down. It was easy now because it was 72% across the board. >> Yeah, it cost us last year uh was Sedexo $912,000 and we were reimbursed $671,000. And that included that includes our commodities that we get um reimbured from the USDA. >> Can you pull back up the model the gall? >> This one did. >> Yeah. So if I'm understanding this correctly, this model

076was based on if we continue the program. >> Yeah. >> We continue the program. If we continue the program, >> we asked for some options. If we continue, where are we at? What if we split it up? Offered K8. >> Guess where I'm missing here is the first statement that was on there where she said if we we discontinued the program, then it would be of higher dep def deficit. >> It's right here. It's on this this part right here. If we said we were going in and keeping CP and K8, we'll be in a deficit monthly of $25,111. If we said we want high school to pay, she just estimated seven. It actually came out to 9,38, we're still going to be paying even if we have high school char because it there's just

077not enough income in the high school to cover the cost. If we do districtwide charging, then that's all in one pot and it can cover the whole district. So, we would still not be getting enough back in. We'd still be doing $34,000 a month in the hole. >> Is there I guess is there any concern for kids not eating? Not not eating, but I mean like when we had them paying for lunch, did we have kids that chose to skip lunch? >> We had 70% participation rates in >> of eating. >> Yeah. >> Even if >> Yeah. >> Okay. in the elementary and the K5. I don't think there were many kids that are allowed to skip. I don't know if you >> have a lot of tricks. >> Middle school, they have that option.

078I didn't hear a lot about it. The high school of course are able to leave campus. So, that's not even something that we have like 120 kids at lunch every day of the high school. And some of them may be I don't know. It just wasn't enough to generate income to cover even the high school. But just keep in mind the what got us to the C are the direct searchs, meaning they're on SNAP benefits. >> They're automatically free. That that they take in direct search. That's automatic. They don't need to turn in anything. They're certified. >> SNAP, any of those government programs, you're automatically. >> Yes. >> So they're not losing. That's the area, you know, we're concerned about. And then the reduced price. I mean, they're paid. We don't have the rates yet

079for the new year. So, no, that's helpful. If they're on staff, it's automatic. >> Yes, it is. >> This district has been pretty phenomenal over the course of the last 15 years of making sure somebody needed they got it. Whether it was through backpack meals, the high school pantry, middle school pantry, people that need food, families or students have never been told. And >> And are we doing alternative lunches if they don't have it or we just need Okay. salad. >> No, we don't do that. >> We have never done that. >> I'll take a motion. >> I recommend the board approve the ending the community eligibility program for food service. Second, >> was that Dave? >> Okay. I can't. You guys are going to have to speak different. >> Okay. Okay. So, I have

080a first from Josh and a second from Shane to approve ending of the community eligibility program for our food services and set meal pricing for the 202627 school year. Questions or discussion from the public? Any more discussion questions from the board? I'll take a vote. All those in favor say I. >> I. >> All those opposed, same sign. Not hearing any. That passes >> motion to set a bunch of next year. >> Do you want a separate? >> Yeah, we have to have a motion on that. Yeah. >> Okay. So, yeah. So, let's >> Okay. >> So, because we I have never set lunch prices before um and we don't know what the reimbursement rate is. Um we set these amounts not grabbed them out of the air. Um, we set it so we could

081come as close as we could to breaking even. Um, I spent the entire day working on what reimbursement may look like for 26 27 and I can tell you that if everyone pays their lunch bill, we're still not making money. We're not we're not we're doing the best that we can for our students, but we still have to make sure the district is whole. Um I work at many different ways with the best that I could with what I understand. I just I'm taking reimbursement rates from last year, not this year. So, I just want you to know um that wasn't an easy decision to make these amounts and >> yeah, we're basing it on what Charlie has just proposed and their representative is going to be here next Tuesday. So, we wanted to get

082this on the votes with the caveat that we may come back in June. We have to raise prices, but we want to get this out so the committee understands there'll be a charge and at least have an idea. It's not going to be $5 more, but have an idea of what that cost is going to be. So, I'll take a motion to set the meal prices as presented with breakfast 375, lunch410, adult breakfast $4, and lunch 575. We approve the uh food prices at >> I have a third from Josh and a second from Carrie Lee to set the meal prices for the 2627 at student breakfast 375 lunch 410 adult breakfast $4 and lunch at 575. Any discussion from the public? >> I just have a question. If they get SNAP benefits, they still

083need to fill out the form. >> No, direct search. >> They're direct search. Yeah. >> So, that direct search just will cut straight from the state if it just shows up into our program. Any other questions? Any questions from the board or discussion? All those in favor say I. >> All those opposed, same sign. Not carrying any. Those meal prices are approved. Uh next agenda item at this time uh the recommendation is to accept the superintendent's resignation. Um dear members of the Lockwood Board of Trustees, please accept this letter as my formal resignation as superintendent of Lockwood School District effected June 30th, 2026. Serving this district, its students, staff, families, and community has been one of the greatest honors of my professional career. Lockwood has been more than a place of work. It has been

084a meaningful part of my life the last 21 years and my identity as an educator. I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to have served alongside dedicated teachers, administrators, support staff, trustees, families, and community partners who care deeply about the future of our students. Throughout my time in Lockwood, I've been proud of the progress we have made together. The district has grown and expanded opportunities for students, strengthened programs, built partnerships, supported families, and remain focused on providing a legendary education, a lasting foundation, and a limitless future for the children of this community. Those accomplishments belong to the collective efforts of many people, and I will always be grateful to have played a role in their work. This decision has not been made lightly. After many years in education, I believe the time is right for me

085to step away. I begin the next chapter of my life. I remain fully committed to supporting the district through the transition and will work with the board district leadership to help ensure continuity, stability, and a smooth conclusion to the school year. Thank you for the trust and opportunity to serve as superintendent. I will always value the relationships, the memories, the challenges, and the successes that shape my years at Lockwood. Most of all, I remain proud of the students, the staff, and the administration who make this history such a special place. And thank you to you guys. This has been probably of 43 years, this has been the best time I've ever had. I have met good people here. There are good people that work here. And it's going to be very hard for me that

086day when I don't get up and come to work, but I warned the dogs are going to have to behave so they won't. I also want to thank the community for supporting me through this year. It's been a very, very difficult year and we didn't lose focus because these people sat here and said, "We want you here. You need to be here because this is your family." And that is the hardest part for me to have said, "I have to do this. I just have to do it. I need to heal. and it's not doing it by burying myself in work. So, I'm not going anywhere. I still want to come out and one of the basketball coaches said, "Maybe now you'll have time to come and actually enjoy activities and things, but I'm going

087to miss everybody. This has been my life." So, I just thank you. Do you want to speak to why this is a year earlier than >> I just I want the committee to understand that the way things have been over the past four months and we have to stop. We're losing what we're here for. We can't ostracize and defame people and hide behind anonymity and think that that's okay. It's sad and it breaks my heart that that's what we've come to. My office has been open for four years. No one has come there and said we're not happy with things. Yet people off the internet can say that I don't have the best interest of this district in place. And I just want to I want to say just these three things. I'm choosing to

088resign because I believe it's time for my own well-being and for the district to allow new leadership to move the work forward. Effective leadership requires trust, good faith communication, and a shared commitment to students above personal conflict. Over the last four months, that environment has changed. I do not intend to use this moment to attack individuals or engage in public accusations. However, it has become increasingly difficult to lead in an environment where anonymous public criticism, personal attacks, and social media commentary have replaced direct and professional communication. Transparency is important, but it must be expected from everyone involved in the public, not only from the district administration. I remain proud of the work accomplished in Lockwood and deeply grateful to the students, staff, families, administrators, and community members who have supported this district. My hope is

089that this decision with my leaving allows a district to refocus on student staff and the future of Lockwood schools. >> Thank you. >> At this time, I move that we accept Don Christine 3026. Uh, I have a motion, the first from Josh and a second from Charity to accept Don's resignation effective 6:30 of 2026. This time I'll take comments and questions from the board or from the public. This time I'll take discussion from the board. >> Say thank you, Don, for all you did. It was a pleasure. >> Thank you. >> Glad to see you go, but thank you for all of your years of service. Don, >> thank you. >> All those in favor to accept Don Chrisman's resignation effective 6:30 2026, say I. >> I. >> All those opposed still. So I Stacey

090was an A. Everybody else, so that motion passed. Um, at this time we'll move into correspondence. >> Reading it again, so just keep >> um there was a couple of correspondents that Wana's introduction. I know John wasn't here tonight. >> I'll reach out to you. Okay. Uh there was some uh board communications and then I have a couple of public comments. So um before we read the ones online, we'll go ahead with the ones that were presented. Uh Drew Johnson, I'm going to cut a little bit of what I said here. It's interesting. But uh reflecting on the decisions of the past month, I had a few as a foster parent, former tumbling case worker and former college admission counselor about some of the debate. Um I feel that at this point the supposed removal

091of Native American studies and the lack of inclusion within the the course catalog could put you guys on we no longer Indian education for a lack way that we used to as an institution. And so I think that needs to be addressed. Uh we also the new policy as someone who deals with a lot of a highly mobile population um we need to address how we're going to deal with transfer students particularly those who are coming with college credits like that has not been addressed in the current policy with course on it and so currently with students that I might be working with we need to figure out how those be managed uh I used to work with uh students from 11 different states um and did curriculum reviews for all homeschoolers nationally coming to

092my college and our current policy is different than most of any other school that I've worked with. Um, and so I some of these problems coming down the line that uh could raise issues with like the education for all act and how we're going to bring these students into the school and not just oh we're not going to accept these credits. Um so and which then creates an inequity between current full-time students and transfer students. So I think those need to be addressed and so if the board could uh maybe direct the administration to develop a clear rubric that aligns with work policies. It feels like some of the board policies now actually uh in contradiction to the handbook policy. So we try to bring those things together. >> Thank you madam chair. For those

093who don't know I'm state senator Sue Vinton. I'm actually here at the request of Representative Mike Benton, who had a conflict tonight. Um, just wanted to let everyone know that next Thursday, the 28th, um, the Lockwood Steering Committee is hosting a meet the candidates night from 6:00 to 7:30. It'll be at the fire station. I'm sure there'll be refreshments and it's going to be very, I think, casual and an opportunity to meet different candidates running for office in our area. Hope you guys all can I know you probably just want or two more flyers in your mailbox, but you could come any and just come and talk to us. >> Thank you. >> It looks like there I show two public. Is that right? Okay. Uh the first one is Chelsea Seymour. Would you like

094to speak? >> You can read it and I'll just have >> Chelsea. We redacted the students name because we wasn't anything rude. It was just question. So that's my suggestion. >> Okay. This public comment is from Chelsea Seymour. Um I'd like to recognize a senior student in the class of 2026 for her outstanding work in this year's War of the Walls. We had three senior student entries and the winning mural is proudly displayed on the paint center wall off Grand Avenue. Master Loop continues to support our senior graduation party put on by the senior parents with a generous $5,000 donation. The winning artist was awarded $150 from the Noble family and matched by the grad party for a $300 appreciation gift in recognition of her hard works. I share this to encourage future seniors to

095submit their artwork and for our school and community to encourage our artists, vote, and support these students. Let's continue to grow this info in a in into sorry, a strong and lasting tradition. great job and a way to represent Lachlit and I would love even more talking as a teachers, parents, community to get more people involved. Our voting was very minuscule um compared to the other schools and just really putting this out there because this is an awesome donation that they give and hopefully there will be another Master Lube wall and we would get proceeds from the whole day um of all of the oil changes, but currently there's not another Master Lube. So, we get 50 center don with all of the supplies. Um, but it's a huge fundraiser form and we get to

096give away 5,000 in cash for the grad party because of this. Looks like the next public comment is Jing Olsen. Would you like to speak or would you like me to repeat? Okay. Uh, dear Lockwood Board of Trustees, I respect respectfully ask the board to revisit the policy regarding correspondent courses as there appears to be significant discrepancies between the information shared publicly during the special board meeting on April 22nd and the information sent to parents by the principal on April 25th. Additionally, neither of these communications aligns with the language in the handbook approved on April 7th. As parents, we deeply care about our students educational opportunities, and this policy will impact many students who strive for high academic achievement. We believe the school board is open-minded and committed to acting in the best interest of

097students. We hope the board will make a decision that continues to support and expand opportunities for students while also benefiting the school both academically and financially. Thank you for your time and consideration. Thank you. Any other public comment submitted? >> You talk, right? >> Yep. I got that. Second. >> I got a first from Josh and a second from Shane. All those in favor?
