No, they would just talk about they would just talk about whatever for 30 minutes to an hour. I think the only thing we have uh welcome everybody back to the budget meeting. Uh Don, can you go over the Paul Newman grant again please? Yes, it's a grant to sustain or it's a grant to help sustain our food sty program. So food pantries in 1612 back program in K8 and then also there's money that's $22,000 for that and the rest of it goes towards working with charles to bring in more table namely beef and then whatever if we can find someone to produce enough vegetables and fruit to bring in we'll do that but sometimes you have more ground to do it. So there's about $8,000 for that like if they get flathead cherry or whatever

it will go through that $50,000 a year for the next two years and then they've got four other things that was built on this part for that part. >> She's already built it. She already got a relationship with Jwell. So we already specialize being they can't even keep up with it. The kids come in and it's gone like they do. But um the other one I just got a hold of just how we can access funding we already got and then I've got another start for now but I don't know where we have to spend all that and then ask for it but we start asking for >> so you apply for two apply for one grant but $100,000 $50,000 a year 26 27 and 27 28 more >> there's four areas in which four

more funders >> any other mental health I downloaded something. So I'm starting a little bit more mental health funding because we're going to need that to keep brand new minds J foundation those guys. So we've got to keep them in got a couple years but I want to try to find big enough that we can do like a group contract. So it's that time of year I'm going to keep looking stuff. >> Okay. Uh um federal are we are we shut down again? No, the only one that was shut down was the crop one that didn't get shut down. >> But we're No, the federal government. Are we still >> Yeah, because it's only when the department >> Yeah. Um we just got like a $3,000 extension on our mental health the last two years.

So, we're working with Pride K5 regular entrepreneurs and parents focused on social emotional learning. So we have to bring in I think Chase has got 120 parents coming in a project and stuff. So that'll start on this missing for that. >> Yeah. Okay. Uh Deian, >> how are we doing? >> Doing all right. I pulled cash balances from this year last time um to right now and just a little work and so I'd like to really hold up on keeping our network pattern as much as we can. >> Yeah. How have we been doing with that? Well, I mean it's like >> our AP um >> we really limited using money better than >> using the grand money or just people. Yeah. they they were just sending orders by asking about or the teacher who

has fees and then they start to pay for their supplies. >> We have a couple big ones getting in there >> for the things like that come up and take that, you know, over budget or under last year. Now >> they got a hold this afternoon. We'll start going in cash from all of our stuff. So we should see how >> we just got the reading approved account like last month. So >> pretty significant probably month. You don't want to wait till June like we had so far about 90 that it pushed us past. >> Yeah. So then was like October. So we're going to try to get this done. We had plans but they didn't get done with their stuff until October and so on. So we met all their expectations. Car does a

great job keeping track of expending. So we should be good. How is the month? Uh, it'll be >> used that much, but I'm going to be booking a inflatable for the player game night. So, I was being freaked out. >> Yeah, that's the reason why I just kind of want to know a general. It doesn't have to be exact because also we have the art block on the end and it was sent out again. >> Okay. >> Um there's going to be a Google thing again. So they're going to go through Gwen through paper. Um, I think I think the the teacher and the high school has somebody that wants to do pastel or something like that. I'm assuming for and also I think has some no titanium no exotics just I know. >> How

many do you think? probably just a couple sleeves gone. >> Yeah. >> And then a couple brought in another upstairs in my office. >> Okay. >> So that could be one size. And then we're still needing to get We're going to get like condiment cups for like >> Yeah. When you walk in the door, you're going to get three little cups so that everybody gets to try the chili for the competition and then you can buy >> more cups like in the It's just people. >> It's easier to walk around. >> Well, that won't worry you just easily. I think >> okay sitting at uh just because I got my uh child balance today in county. So, we're a week late on that. So, balance December because I have revenue two months back. So, 28,000.

>> We're not going to touch that. But also with that with the boards 115 account that is designed to cover travel um printing uh education like when we do the title N and stuff like that that comes out of that account but we don't travel or sell >> and yeah and you do have a budget you do have a budget in the general fund. >> Yeah. But also it also covers other things. I mean like we you do the uh >> you do the welcome back. >> So one board lunch comes out and then one. >> Yeah. >> And then Christmas came out. Yeah. D5 >> for teacher appreciations. So we don't have $20,000 to go out but we do have fun there for >> the way we get just the way we get fun.

So you know into that fund is our rebate from our um our is um through medical has and so we get cash back for every dollar spent then we get a kickback and that always goes >> not kickback we don't get kickbacks >> we don't get >> no we get reimbursements or cash advantages >> goes into the one >> and then that goes So, it goes to all staff. >> Thank you. >> Any other questions for Deianne? >> Oh, did the D get resolved? >> Harley's working on it. Um, I don't know how long it took to get that going, but she did. >> There was one charge on one of them and that was good. It >> was 58 bucks. >> Yeah. Reduced it significant. 900. All right. But otherwise, we're doing pretty okay.

>> Yeah. >> Okay. How was your trip to Nashville? >> It's a lot. >> About 10,000 people. Do we do any trainings for you out of the board 15? >> Yeah, I did do some of my manifold classes. I don't think anybody is >> they do have a step budgeted in the general fund but we typically use that for um like every other year we travel out um to go to summer conference and then every other year and I'll take the girls from upstairs so they can all go to the conference. >> Okay. travel. >> Yeah. Know that's a horrible idea here. I want to take them to the >> ambulance. Any other questions about the general any questions grants anything like that? >> One quick question though. Um, do you guys have any idea

how many people showed up to the winter carnival? >> Yeah, we're kind of trying to figure out what to expect. >> We ran out of food pretty quickly. >> Yeah, we ran out of food, so it had to be 150. >> 15 200. Okay. Um, >> did you do you want to talk about chili from >> Yeah. So, what I want to do, and I'll try to do it tomorrow, is send out a Google forms to everybody who respond with me about donating um and confirm that they're going to cook chili for I think I said 30 what people would do. But maybe I'll give them an option to cook chili for 30 or 50 or something like that. So, get some idea of how much chili will be donated. And then whatever we're going

to be kind of short on, I'm hoping if you pay Charcoal to donate a big pot of chili as like our they can enter >> they can enter the competition too, you know, like they can just >> Yeah. We just got to figure out how much we want and then >> ultimate partner was a good idea. >> I've done Wendy's for years when we did grade stuff. >> Yeah. and they probably will donate. >> Did you did you reach out? I just um >> but we could do if we can get tired. I mean, even >> Well, then if they can put it on the menu for the next day, whatever they don't use. If you reach out to Missy, she should be able to tell you how many people came to town. So, she

would know. >> Okay. You reach out to her before. >> I'm going to email the contractor. >> Yeah. Just maybe give them a heads up that we're going to be asking them for that. We just need >> I'll send an idea of a headcount, >> but also uh the other thing was crap stuff. LA. >> Yeah. So, what we we want to have um some toppings and we're hoping that GCF who's that season. >> Let's uh let's go ahead. We'll just rechecking the raw hole of the land. Okay. >> Okay. Well, you need to check when you're having trouble. >> Yeah. Well, I I what I need to do is dedicate going through all my notes and remembering all these because I jotted down all these ideas, but um >> contacted me and I think

me and Stacy and Chrissy are going to go door to door. I Facebook reached out to a bunch of businesses looking for donations and I've got some get them in touch with me but we just need to go face to face and ask for chill and and it >> other one would be here. >> Yeah, I reached out to them. They're getting in touch or they gave me an email and I did reach out to them. Any other questions? >> I got a fun office. keep this thing on the road all the year. He just came to s the other day and he said I'm going to start working on funding. I said that me one thing about school been drawn out after two years. So you got to get going on it, >> right?

>> The donation to the cement. Uh they went to the person larger. one of the good question and we decided on that was one of the other questions she reached out on really want to greenhouse and they just do footings in cement but they just do put back and the whole reason why we wanted 88 client that we want our life skills class be able to in there. Wheelchair students wheelchair students. Okay. Anything else? Excellent. Next, we're going to discuss increasing director matrices. Now uh you can leave but we need to as part of our transition plan we need to get uh assist comparable so we can recruit somebody good. Also another person I want another another person another position you need to look at is our district uh business manager because if you went

and you looked at the uh that page when we went through we have comparison stuff we have superintendent we have business manager and And we have the lowest paid business manager for class A school by probably $15,000. So some want to talk about funings. Uh so um we figured in um 3% off of that being called on call up that right >> there's off and that director will be stating 74 office. >> I'm not saying we need to do raises for them for like, you know, the whole $74,000, but if we can get the business manager up to >> Yeah. >> So, the stuff that was sent out to negotiations shades off is 3% drop look forward to it. But still trying to figure out where Paul doesn't but we do need to address your

position. >> Okay. We will be addressing the opposition. >> Here's the thing that we're looking at is we actually have a way to transition out and somebody else in smoothly because Don has told us it was done in seven. So we have a we have time to get our positions the best we can with our uh salary package I guess so that we can be competitive bucket and get good and if you look at around the state there is going I'm I'm projecting last year was quite a shake up with superintendent with a lot of How much city just left? >> Cindy just left and people falling off. >> So when we go to recruit that position possible. >> So we have some number ideas for the assistant superintendent. >> Okay. The time you would

like to share that. >> Okay. >> I'm looking at we take >> Okay. And what would that I would like to do more? I'm not going to have this year. So that doesn't change. >> Okay. So okay that >> I I understand everybody doing this. Everybody says that everybody loves being here to do it with the kids. All that stuff. This is strictly business >> and it has nothing to do with you and I can do it. >> Okay. Also have some ideas on that funding that won't have anything to do with what we >> uh are you still comfortable with all you being here. >> Um I you mentioned that you want to bring in a Okay. >> So, are we going to keep the director or is it going to be what what

does that look like? >> It would be tech director. So, tech one, tech two, be director and tech. >> Okay. >> Separation that >> Paul is on the director mont. >> It's not going to be 12, but it'll be days in the summer. So it's like two times >> we haven't it's like I want to give him time off in summer but also there'd be days when he could be here for two weeks take a week off the is the age fulltime position or that you think >> I think it's going to depend a lot on how much how long you make my contract you determine how much you want and how skilled they are. >> How skilled they are. Yeah, we fine for that. >> My my I know absolutely nothing about tech, but

it seems summertime that was kind of like the downtime go through there's as much stuff as can kind of deal. Yeah. Standards kind of been like two weeks after two weeks before like school started expecting 10 days after to do exactly what you said here. Yeah. kind of work from there and then 10 days before it kind of gets up ready time where you can be here like in July two weeks two weeks off time. So >> yeah, when you figured out the tech aid, did you figure that out on a nine month >> 10 like our 10 month 10 month? how I came about is we have somebody that applied for a sub job that had background. Um but you know Paul and I have talked about a little bit of how we kind

of matter that I said to you guys what people do, how much help they have, how much they work. They're kind of all over the board as far as how many people they have, how much they're getting. I kind of feel the same way. I don't want to start over. Somebody that knows, you know, kind of vision for you guys have to remember to check for like the district here. He's The difficult part of this district is twofold. One is that we have four buildings. Yeah. And all the buildings are different. A lot of the other schools, they're not working with four buildings. And then the other part is that we post a lot outside of the school day, which a lot of the other class A schools are not doing. So if you get

a 108, you're also training them in that cell as well. It's not just a straight like 7:30 to 3:30. Hey, you show up here, do this, like you're trained up in how to work with the el when we host tracks, when we do softball, you know, like the wrestling like I was here Friday, Saturday for that stuff, you know. So, I think that's kind of baked into if you think about your technology. We're using a lot of extra extra stuff, too. And then the last part is is with our Chromebooks. That's going to be like the other part. We're changing the Chromebook thing up here a little bit for next year, but we're talking right now we have 2,000 Chromebooks across the district. That's three times more than just as a comparable. So you're talking

your tech aid is going to spend a lot of time. I mean a lot of my job right now is just working with those. >> So we can be a fulltime tech. Well, old time decade makes a lot of sense. >> No, you're you're you're the subject matter expert on this. So, I have no idea what your job entails. If you tell me that we actually No, we it was never my intention to throw you to the wolves and good luck. But no, if you're telling me we need to everything else, then I'm absolutely going to look at that. And I do think what Kelly said do mention this, I think he's right. I when it comes to like the salary negotiation stuff, I do think it's to the district's benefit to have somebody who

knows the district already because of that stuff is if you're bringing somebody in and you're asking them to train for buildings, that's going to be a lot more difficult. I spent a year just right. I've spent the last two years basically kind of doing that. So I think that does make the transition a little bit easier when I'm then training that age you know and then you kind of go there but you know just as a factor when you're talking about salary understand >> so we're looking at so Darlene can you explain really quick so like he is moving up into her position >> forward Yeah, >> just changing it slightly and then creating a tech a what was what's the current you're currently >> right? So basically it's just kind of like a name

only type thing. Like Darlene right now is the technology director and technically my is on that salary matrix. It's technology director too. I'm calling it assistant. >> Okay. >> However you want to phrase it or how that was. I don't >> mist one text two. We want to get rid of the technology >> not in the director would be on salary would be where we fit that fores so that they could still show up on weekends would be similar to classified non-union. You just have to set it up with them to where it's the only position. It's not we have to work with a bunch of people. They just have to they're going to take the job and understand you might be part of the Canon might be a require >> I like how Lacy

does it right now. If um Jade needs her at a tournament or something, she'll make sure that she's scheduled that. >> I mean, is that doable? Like if okay, there's an event. >> It would be help time if you're going to work Saturday night on Friday. >> Yeah, I think that would be kind of on my part like the scheduling of the work time. I mean obviously I think like that the thing with the matrix too that you're talking about is if you're going to marry those two matrixes together like obviously to take the responsibility of tech director like off want a little bit more money to do that than like what I'm currently doing now because it is more responsibility and it's more responsibility to supervise an hourly work I >> yeah pretty much

apply but it's up to me then to kind of schedule that decade balance when we got into and we usually have a pretty good idea of when that is. I mean sometimes it just comes to the fact and I I think it's also auto. I'm not oblivious to the fact that like obviously I'm going to have to be here more even than I am now too which is already know we made it work for the most part with our lean. I mean she's done a good job showing up. I mean option you got you don't already know but >> you have to be careful you know fulltime 12 months >> right >> I mean that is a full-time 12 month that's um you know different type of a benefit you know I mean we really

have to make sure that we're working on >> yeah my preference would still be a high quality my preference would still be 2007 day contract to start with that way it's 10 days for that's what he's kind of operated on in the past and then you can kind of see where you're at the proposal I kind of think negotiations >> she lo say the school need because you guys people are here during the summer always something happening during summer >> but it's not like be a daily >> I don't think the tech would need to be here in the summer other than those same amount of days >> sure what happens though like what if people what if you guys are here working or whatever and you need >> like yeah >> okay more like

the stuff that's like extra out like when we host the the trainings and stuff like we're talking >> the board meeting stuff >> that's implied you guys need something we tal for an hour >> the biggest thing Paul will have to monitor is making sure we don't have Right. >> Yeah. >> That would help us out tremendously. >> Do you feel like that two weeks before and two weeks after school is enough? >> That's what I kind of say. I would rather start there and then kind of figure out what we're looking at rather than have you do more than that and then you're paying me to be here and do nothing. So then if it doesn't work, we can propose at any day. >> That would be my preference how it's kind of >>

going from what we what we have now. We have two people that are really super knowledgeable about systems and what needs to happen from building to the district level to know what to just so I mean I think the sooner that we sooner that we figure that out and say >> you said you kind of identified somebody right that's up >> we have a general idea I think right now of somebody that might be interested in it. But if they're not, then that's kind of what they'll be saying. I think we need to figure out a definition to open it up and actually start >> looking um with that is the last days. >> Yeah. So might be the last one. >> We'll finally get that one. >> Uh the other thing you guys want

to put out the recorders? Well, we looked at 3% across all the right now. That's what was talking about total. So that's what we're looking at. >> Wouldn't be involved in that. And then we looked at possibly the only thing left on that would be to We need to make sure we have that nailed out by May talking. >> We'll have them contracts will be out in April. >> Yeah, they don't have to get them back. So, yeah, >> what we're trying to do is get that settled and then the next thing will be to do the initiation and then we'll be everybody I think will be caught up with any They just reached out. They just reached out today. >> So 3% excluding Darling on kind of what we talked about um is the

difference by $22,000 um for the district but then we're going to not derene come off that but then we have to increase you know via tech aid and then position. Yeah, it's not going to be worse. Even if we figure out where to end that matrix t any outstanding or anything? >> Well, I'm still right. Your vote is the increase. >> How much we saving? What were we saving? >> Well, 97,000 without Darwin there. But the total with Darling's gone and everyone's entry 74,000 not 74,000. I have some ideas too with the other stuff we talot negotiation wise >> and then all the secretaries are major so we already know what's going to happen with that classif Yeah. >> When is that? See? Okay. Any other questions?
