Thank you all for coming to the budget committee meeting. Only thing we have on here is review current budget and federal programs and management. How are we doing there? >> Well, so this is just general fund stuff. Um this is what we put in for a budget in column E. Where we've spent year to date is column F. Um, and so that's year to date what we spent. So when you put the budget in, you just kind of estimate where these are going and then other funds of course carry over because it is just the general fund. And so um I mean two months in is hard to gauge where we're at, but I feel like we did a pretty good job. Um, we're just still being pretty careful about spending. I think we have
a new platform for spending and it's helped a lot. >> New platform um a a way to um for people to request a purchase and it's really nice. >> People randomly just going up to Carl and said, "Hey, can you put this in?" And it was fine when there was a lot of excess funding, but last year it got really messy. So, we said, "We got to clean it up." And it's working way better. There's not just And people were doing anything wrong. It's just cleaned it up. So, we know now you can't overspend your funds. So, if you're do a fundraiser, you can't overspend what's in there. So, >> so it's helping with activities, but it's also helping with our office just knowing uh where to expense that too. You know, if someone wants
to spend it, I feel like they should know where that's coming from, not just let us decide or they should know, you know, that that's >> you guys shouldn't be having to fill it out at the end of the year. >> Well, when they go to do a cash request, they want specifically what we bought and what it cost. And now I can just ask Carl to produce those documents for me and just plug that in when we do the cash request. don't have to go back and go through every invoice and every Amazon order and because I had to do that last summer and it was awful. So, we're not doing that anymore. It makes it way cleaner. >> What grants do we have coming up? We got the charter school that got turned
in, right? >> Yes, that got accepted on Friday and they are now listed on the on the board of education page. There are seven of them. >> December is the deciding factor on that one. >> They're going to interview us in November and then January. I think >> us as in you, Kelly. >> Gwen and Cole and I. >> Okay. >> Yeah. And Cole will do most of the speaking because he's really taken a hard he's I mean I told him it's a night and day from last year to this year with him. He's really running the show now with it. Yeah. It'll be good. >> And that pays for two teachers. >> Well, it will. The first year we only get like a little bit and then every year you get more and then
the fifth year we'll get about $587,000 >> which will cover his salary counselor and three teachers. Wow. >> Yeah. >> What do reading grant or anything? We got that coming up. >> The reading grant has been gained, which means the money is guaranteed, but because the government has shut down, that money has not come yet. So, they are working with the Department of Education to see if they can go ahead and just send >> I can I can go do that. Well, I think that from what I'm seeing today, there might be some moving on getting this shut down over with anyway. So, at least there's discussion going on now. It's kind of gridlock is broken. I think >> it's there. It's >> Yeah, >> the timing was really bad. They sent the letter and
then the money didn't come. >> Okay. >> But that honestly is not going to be a concern unless it's like May and they haven't released the money yet. Then I would >> that would be >> right now and Rachel thinks many times pretty concerned. >> Yeah. >> So >> because we're spending that money, right? >> Yeah, we are. >> We sure are. >> How long how how does that work, Deian? If we spend the grant money, if we don't have it, we spend it out of the general fund and >> No. So, we have a little we have in the 15 because it goes into the 115. Okay. Um, and so that we have a cash balance there. If we didn't, then we couldn't spend it. >> We would have just said you guys, we
can't put anything towards it. So, >> but I mean, if we continue to spend and we don't get it, we'll have to stop. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Because in that fund is also um >> salaries and stipens for the SLT people. All that stuff's built in there and supplies. So, >> what's our burden rate for that? >> Four. >> How many months can we maintain? I would say if we don't hear something by Christmas, we'll probably tell people we need to slow down till we going just because we need to be safe with it. >> Okay. >> Because it could easily consume everything Dan has in the 115. >> So we got December >> in the December >> title one was approved. So that's 900,000. That one's that one's now available. So they can start
drawing that. the safety grant that will do money towards raises and then all the travel for the middle school to do that Ron Clark Academy the stuff they're doing the games and stuff that's all covered so we can put that back into title because I put it in both because I didn't know if we'd have it >> in time we can actually now put that money from title back into the supplies there >> and most that's really coming out is the things we haveed to title for salaries it's that's most of the >> yeah for title anything that's left over We'll put towards salary in the end anyway. >> Yeah. >> With the expenditure amendment >> and when we get to like May and I do the last cash withdraw, I'll do an amendment to
that grant and if there's anything left over, we just put it towards salary so we can put money back in. >> What do we January we're sending people to Bosezeman and then we're sending and you >> Yeah. And Kelly all of that's covered in title. Yeah. Money's all there. Yeah. But that's like the only big trips we're doing, right? >> Yeah. Yeah. We're not sending we the reading grant doesn't cover large groups leaving the state anymore. That's done. So you have to get permission to go out of state and they're having a lot of training of their own instate. So we shouldn't have to send people out. So >> middle of January we're sending the uh >> well that's the admin that's the principal's conference. >> Yeah. Principal's conference to Boseman. So training there and
then >> you guys are going in >> March. >> We go in February. >> We going then Deianne is going down to St. Louisville. >> Nashville and Kelly and >> Dawn. But Deianne has training already set up for business manager and financial manager. >> His chief chief business and chief financial >> training down there. do three days which will be good for her. >> That's the only trainings we have set up for any admin or anybody this year >> and it's all covered by title or grants. >> Sweet. >> I did want to touch a little bit on um the lunch fund. Uh I'll pull it up here but it'll be confusing to you. Um, we did receive the funds uh the audit uh refund from Sedexo and I mean so that's 26,000 back in
the fund. Our cash balance at the end of September was $55,000. We were expecting it to be around $200,000. Um just yeah I'm trying to figure out the C and how it's funded and I don't know if it's the flip and breakfast that's there. They they refund us less in, but I'm not sure how long we can sustain >> the free. >> I've had >> because that was for the state, wasn't it? >> I've had calls in um to try to me to figure it out >> and the state didn't feel like it would cost us more than $5,000 a year and that's not been the case at all with Sedex. I don't know with wet chart wells. I'm not sure right now where that all stands because we're only a couple months in, but
does not look like this is something that is is just >> I'm missing something. I'm trying to learn a little bit more about it. Um >> so when you qualify for this free lunch program, >> you qualify one time and they take a snapshot of where you're at. I suppose free and reduced or free and direct. It's direct search or something like that. money based on that >> that percentage anymore. >> Well, because everyone's it's a percentage of what we sell for lunch or what we're providing for lunch. So, the percentage is we're reimbursed a certain amount and then the other percent is a different amount. And so, we are getting charged um less through Chartwells. It's just I don't know if it's breakfastity mixing us up or >> counting then this count goes for
our title one funding as well. They count the direct certified people that are actually qualified and that's what they put in there and it's about 700 kids districtwide. So that means there's about 800 kids that didn't qualify, but we're still giving free. So that's where you start to say >> we only get that percentage >> of the reimbur. Well, we might have to take away the whole thing and go back to you qualify if you're direct ser you qualify you get that benefit otherwise >> just want to see how this is going to shape out because we can't run that has to come from the general fund if that runs out >> and I also don't know if >> it isn't there >> we could trust what our b our previous provider did so we're
comfortable >> I'm just trying to compare >> audited for any sort of corruption in that system like that why is there such a big difference between what was expected and what's Well, it happened. I think it started happening because this is our second year. >> Um, I don't know. I mean, we've looked over the bills. We've I've tried to compare, you know, and they seem >> comparable. >> It's just our rate of reimbursement. Um, >> what is it? Fulfilling what our bill is. You know what I mean? and it hasn't been for months. >> Yeah. >> So, I'm really trying to figure that out and track it really closely to see where we're at. >> And previously, I didn't check in on it because there was a balance in there. Now, that's all of us.
>> It's just kind of been, you know, >> and we didn't really know what it was going to do. >> Sure. >> And I can tell you Dan and I did not have our hands in the food program. I've I've called OPI and asked them to go through it and how >> um it's all working and they're trying to help me navigate. >> The lady that we sat in with when we first agreed to do this said, "I can't imagine this costing you more than she said, I haven't seen a costics more than $5,000. I don't know what the office is here, but that's not what happened." >> How do we get a hold of that lady again? >> She doesn't work here anymore. Okay. >> Who replaced her? I have no idea. Not very
many. >> I've had communication with a few of them just trying to understand the reimbursement process. >> Can they redo our snapshot? >> Well, it might be less. >> Yeah. We don't want to mess with that part. >> It might be just less. So, they take it once every three years. Correct. >> Yeah. >> If it's less, we I don't think we want to go there. >> Yeah. I mean if we have to the best that we >> we're missing something >> something that was doing that well is not doing >> and Sedexo is not talking to us anymore >> because they can't people >> definitely not any deeper than we already are. Yeah, I just I don't understand. >> No, Dian's working on it. What What's I hope somebody will come back and say
>> here's what you're >> like that vibe from them. >> There's really nothing to show. >> Okay. >> It's nothing. It's I mean [snorts] those that that was my main concern is that right now and so I'm >> working on it. >> Let us know. Well, you'll know. Yeah. Because then we'll have to do something in the general fund because it will have to start coming from the general fund. >> Yeah. And if that's the case, then we'll make plans for starting to transition back to a to how it used to be. >> How many kids are eating here? >> Well, Gwen did a really wonderful video today of the lunch and the high school is the biggest place where they're not eating. And Rob's out there telling kids, "Grab a lunch and take it
with you if you go get lunch because you know you're not getting enough at one to fill you up." So get free one and go eat that on the way to get your other one. But um that really helped on breakfast. I could see that the breakfasts are a lot more attended here now. But Gwen went in and videoed the so the parents can see that there's there's good food that had a potato bar today that was really good. So I went in there, did a video, put it out on Instagram so parents can start seeing that there is good food being offered. It really is. We had the hamburgers from the donated beef. >> Delicious. >> Crazy how good that was. Yeah. >> And they went fast, she said. Well, they had buffalo chicken
nachos the other day. >> They did. >> When was that? >> I saw you both in there. Four pound. >> I think we'll get a few more. I think you're doing a pretty good job. >> Winter is going to run Chick-fil-A. >> Yeah. >> Parents are running out of patients with giving them money to go out to eat every day. Well, I just know that a lot of kids depend on it >> for at least two meals a >> day. So, we're we'll just keep monitoring and and Deian will keep checking to see if somebody can give us some insight on what >> like for instance our expenditures just out of for food service so far and that includes everything up till today is $154,000. And then I'm going to tell you what our revenue
is. Come on. Revenue. Come on. $102,000 that we've received in revenue. Um that comes from >> the reimbursement. >> Yeah. >> So like 52,000 >> So this Yeah. So and this doesn't include the reimbursement that we'll you know receive. this month because our revenues are always in the rears. >> Expenditures are always to date. >> Well, it was about two months, >> but the government's so picky about you got to click this button or do that >> and everything if for that you can't submit it if one thing's missing and so it's all it's all submitted. Um I just don't know what I don't know what to think of that. Um, yeah. >> Are we the only district facing this? >> I don't know. >> Could we reach out to anybody else that's on the
same program? >> I don't know if anybody >> I did ask that the clerk's meeting. Um, and some people are just starting it. So, you know, they probably haven't been through the full year like we have. >> I don't know many districts our size of C. >> They're like a school. >> Maybe sometimes they're binary >> their breakfast only. So, we may have to just look at how we roll this out, revamp it, but >> yeah, >> make sure maybe the littles are getting as much as we can and but I don't know if charging at the high school is going to increase our you know what I mean. So, we just have to look at it overall, but I know Deian's waiting for someone at OPI to kind of come back and walk us
through that and say, "Hey, where are we missing anything? Are we not asking?" I feel like Chartwell should be uh invested in helping figure it out too cuz >> well Chartwell it'll go down if we take that away. >> Well, Chartwells only charges us for the meals served. No food. Not they they do not charge us for that. This is just per student eating. That's awesome. >> And they were they were really helpful last time >> we met and they were almost >> they were like but you shouldn't be like that shouldn't be like that. I feel like they should kind of set because they're in so many different schools, maybe they kind of have an idea of what we're running into, wouldn't they? >> Well, their theirs is pretty much cut and dried with
their >> Yeah, that's the fixed price. That's what they guaranteed and that's what >> it's not their price. It's participation is one thing, especially with our old kids. >> Yeah, they're just a common denominator. So, I'm wondering if they're seeing because if we take away free lunch, I guarantee the number of kids eating lunch goes down. >> Okay. Yeah. >> Which would in theory I don't know what business wants but I imagine they want more people eating. >> We don't. Yeah. And that's what she's asked. So we have some plans to really promote. And then she did a really cool thing. She opened up the K5 to Thanksgiving dinner instead of >> you got to parents. That's cool. >> Yeah, definitely do that. >> Jenny wanted to just do like one grade level per event
throughout throughout the year and she said, "Well, let's just open it up to everybody." And so she did. She has a plan for it. >> That's awesome. I will tell you they're really great to work with. Um >> from their leadership >> Jenny from Stoville that I she just raves about our so great >> and their regional person Ryan came out and I had dinner with them and they are just raving about our district and about being in Montana. They're really happy. It's just that we just have to figure out. >> I just have to figure it out and I'll get it figured out. >> I don't want to say it's going to go down the tubes, but we just have to be aware that this could be something we have to >> Can we
go back and look when Sedexo was moving like when Sedexo was doing it? Can we go back and look at the paperwork? >> We've looked at I mean I' we've compared and we've looked and I mean of course theirs is >> their expenses are more because their fixed price was >> higher. It's just I think where we're seeing the difference is probably the difference for breakfast. Okay. >> Um that might be that might be a common issue. >> Even if we went to pay for breakfast, we can still keep lunch for free >> or or qualify for breakfast. redo the contract yearly. So it might be something we have to adjust next year before we if we want to keep them we can keep them year to year. >> No, their food quality. >> Yeah,
I don't want to go back. >> No, >> the peace. >> Yeah, I mean their stuff and what I'm seeing now is at first there was a lot of like, oh my god, this is a lot of work from people that were working and now all of a sudden today these ladies were so excited about what they were serving that I was like, >> yeah, cool. Well, they're asking, you know, how do we get kids excited about this? I said, we love to be excited. And I love the people in the high school. Haven't been to the others, but I mean, >> yeah, >> that's cool. >> Ladies are pretty excited. We were pretty excited. >> Middle school likes it. Middle school is doing fine. I've eaten at every building. >> K8 is doing okay.
It's the high school where we're seeing the significant not participation part. So, and that's where >> you have the 490 kids. So, >> so she'll >> It's not cool to eat lunch. I remember >> I had chicken Alfredo with Grayson two weeks ago. >> Yeah. >> In the K2 building for lunch. Like are you that it was >> We also you guys have to purchase like they had nothing to cook with. >> Yeah. We did have to purchase kitchen utensils in the whole district. There was nothing to cook with. >> Oh, >> we had to replace a >> mean something to be said before. They didn't have to have utensils. >> That's great. But it's high school. If you don't go somewhere, you're >> Yeah. Now, in the mornings, I see more kids down here
sitting during breakfast than I used to because Gwen's really hyped it up. So, I I have to give them credit. >> Even if they are going somewhere for lunch, these guys are doing a good job of saying, >> "Grab it." >> So, you go and come back. >> You don't want to spend as much money, just come back. >> Yeah. Might as well get the good stuff and then go grab them >> the whole time. >> Thing of fries for a buck or whatever. Yeah. I think it's Blue Basket. Oh, >> I think >> Logan comes back. >> Oh gosh. >> I saw the ranch house meets put in a They put in a Have you been in there this >> Have you been in there? They changed it >> and they put a lunch
counter in. >> I saw them. >> I got worse there a couple times. >> There. >> Kelly likes the lunches. >> Yeah, >> they're legit. Anyways, they're putting in that she said they'll probably be done by January completely. >> Anyways, uh doesn't help our situation here, but >> I'll keep looking at I'll just keep my eye on it. Um as far as you know, the general fund, we just keep our eye on it till it gets close to where we think it's getting a little iffy and then >> Yeah, if we get to a point where we have to make decisions, that'll be something this group will have to decide what we want to do. Well, I'm [clears throat] I'm sure it'll be a full board vote, but we'll definitely have a recommendation for >>
that discussion will happen probably here before we have to make a big decision. >> That's good. Was that your only >> Yeah, that's my >> Yep. My only >> concern. And so just just going to watch it. I'm just going to watch >> totally panic. Yeah. Until we hear from Yeah, you guys are in trouble. endlessly like but >> well what's nice is we have a we have we have a cash balance and so I don't know what districts do and they don't you know in a situation like this it's >> we were kind of last month was like >> okay and we are making some former deals that went were on were have went away and I don't want to say anything anybody >> but those deals are gone now people that actually buy
meals here are paying for them not us so that's about 6,000 a that went away from us paying. >> Yep. And >> so that's 65 72,000 a year that went away. So it should help, but I mean still we don't know. >> That was all just >> can't figure out where those charges are in I know >> our bill. I cannot find them. >> Well, based on how things have been. I'm sure they were good at it. >> They're somewhere in there. >> I'm trying. I'm trying. What else do we got? >> That's it. >> That's all I have. >> I've got some grant applications out for drama, choir, and STEM. >> Is it STEM or STEAM? >> STEM. Steam is more elementary. STEM is more 6 through 12. So, there were some opportunities that
came up and said, "Wouldn't you like to apply?" And I said, "Yes, we would." So, I got them in. So, it's not it's probably about $30,000 total, but $4,000 for music and drama curriculum is a lot better than having nothing. So, and then the other the STEM is bigger. It's like 20ome,000 for bodies. >> Cool. So, >> 20 >> Yeah, it's huge. So, I thought I'm going to apply whether you have to go with Samsung or whatever, I don't care. It's like it's equipment. So, yeah. I thought that was poker house. >> Spectacular grass. They're just going to give it to us. This is the best thing I've ever seen. They're just money. >> I love your attitude. [laughter] >> For the 700 I write in the tend to get. But yeah, see that's what
you have to do. You just have to keep going. Yeah. Somebody's going to give us money. It happens. Anybody have any other questions, concerns, anything they want to see? What about for next month? I would let's let's keep >> touch base on that. >> Yeah, let's just I'll keep up. I'll keep up on that and just keep >> Oh, the dentennial thing. How did I understand any of that? I haven't seen a proposal in or anything for the way the funding >> there's no proposal yet. So, they just started the commission how many months ago. They'll go all the way until next >> session. And right now they're doing like road shows. So they're coming to different places. Um I think I shared some of that information where they're trying to get community input, um
educator input. They're trying to get student input on it on what they think's important right now. In education, that's what they're focusing >> funding. [laughter] >> Yeah. They don't have they they don't have a specific funding plan acknowledge. >> Okay. >> They will they'll have >> but that's not going to happen until 27, right? >> Yeah. >> They would go forward in legislative session 27 recommend to legislators on what the refunding should be. >> And there's also a >> there are a couple out there a couple plans out there already. No, Missoula is suing, aren't they? >> There's also a lawsuit on record now for funding discrepancies >> similar to what happened. >> It doesn't seem like they're together. >> Yeah. It's not as cohesive as what happened >> years ago. >> Are they coming
to Billings or Lockwood at all? >> That'll be influence. >> I'll go back and look at that and send it back out. >> I can look. It's in the emails. >> That was the only thing I had. I thought it was coming this year in 26. So like legislature has taken a year off or >> Yeah, they odd years. So they >> Yeah, because you know funding can wait another year. >> Well, we can hardly catch up on what they've changed when they change bills for 2017. >> Yeah, it takes us a bunch of time to, you know, >> that's all I got. The only hot button item is lunches. >> Yeah, just keep an eye on it >> and >> start reimbursements. I mean, the federal funding. >> Yeah, just getting getting the government
opened up so people So things are like >> going like they should. >> Once that once that money's there, I have to actually do the egrant. We haven't even >> be nice. >> What I just read is there's at least a movement on it. >> Be nice. I I don't understand why I got, you know, why I'm paying taxes still if they're not open. >> October one. >> This is our second round in this, isn't it? Yeah. [snorts] >> That's why you're having cereal for dinner. [laughter] >> Do we need to get him a free lunch? Pick you up. I'll pick you up a box of Lucky Charms because that's the best thing I ever did in my life. That box. I could live in that box. >> Let's see if we can for lunch
tomorrow at the ranch house. >> Okay. If there's nothing else. >> Yeah. Anything specific you want to see? Do you just >> Is there Is there anything uh uh coming up for bid soon? >> Uh trash. That's not a bad >> look at that because this is a long Didn't we have like >> three year contract? >> Yeah. >> Five or four something? >> Yeah. It's not up this year. >> No, but is there anything else out for bid? I know we changed >> so >> we changed Did we change gas or electric? >> We changed gas for both for welding because we're out of that now and into a reasonable amount. Yeah. Is there any other contracts that are coming up or do we need to ask Mark? >> Not that are not that
are like multi-year like he does a brew co for supplies and stuff but that >> really just >> and that doesn't those guys don't mess around because I don't want to lose the business but >> our worst one was that one that went away. That was probably one of our worst. They took advantage of that whole thing and now it's gone. So >> what's that? >> The welding one. >> Okay. I don't want to say names of people, but it's hard to get out of. >> It was very well written to get not be able to get out of it. We just have to make sure with the other one, >> with the garbage one that we don't have some caveat in there that keeps us having to go, you didn't notify us, but then
now you have five more years. So, we just have to make sure that year that it expires that we are well ahead of saying, >> put it out for bid. >> Yeah. So, >> that I'm well verssed on RFPs now. So, if I have to write one for it, I can write one. Yeah. >> Oh. Uh I will share with the group we have had a couple of foyer requests and we are giving them our hourly rate to fulfill those foyer requests which John says is $48 an hour which I think is low. >> She did not respond. That was enough. >> Yeah. >> That is what you just tell that >> if you do do a big foyer request we are chartered putting out a price on them. It's like it's going to take
me 10 hours $480 an hour. You owe us $480 before you would start this. So I figured out what this these people I thought it was companies that were they're not they contract with people that are just like in Florida or whatever and you that's what you do is you put out these requests and you gather all the data and then you get paid to produce it. So they're wanting all of our purchase order records from 2020 to 2025. Well, it's all on our website. You can go right into the board agendas and click on it. And I told them it's free and it's available right here. if you want me to do it, it's going to be $480 upfront. Well, those people that are independent are not going to send you a check for
$480. So, >> cool. >> So, I just sent that back saying this is free to you. It's available to the public here. If you want me to do it, it's going to be $480. So, >> well, I had to do it on one of them because I didn't understand what we were get what we were I didn't want to get in trouble with it. So, I did it and it's like, no, this is all available. >> Yeah. So they couldn't for whatever reason access I don't know why because every time I go in there I just clicked on every year that they wanted just pulled it out of the bills and wages and then lined that all up and sent it in a dropbox and it went fine. But I'm not doing that again because
it was it was a lot. So anybody else that wants that stuff is going to pay. But now I know it's not a company which I kind of don't want people coming after us. So but now I realize that these are people that are paid to go get that information. I don't know what the obsession is with getting districts purchase orders. So, >> Bill's clinic is partnering with us. Us, right? >> No, because I talked to Gina today. We are partnering with a a nursing home for the first year because >> No, food drive. >> The food drive. Yeah. They're partnering with the high school. So, Billings Clinic reached out and said, "Hey, we always partner with Billings high schools. We'd like to have include Lockwood this year in our food drive, our clothing drive,
and our hygiene drive. and we'll deliver a box big box of each to the high school when they're done. So, that'll help with the food pantry that we're getting going for because the SNAP thing's kind of in a lot. So, and I just got money in for our program for homeless. So, we we're we're pretty covered now with being able to help people. >> So, >> what are we looking at for holiday boxes? Are we looking at this year? >> 6 through 12 have money from Cole's Pantry to That is specifically for holiday boxes. country um flying loop came today and someone else. >> So there and then we're also we are going to provide matching funds to the optimist as well for the gift drive and then the church one of the local churches
here also does gift um food boxes for holidays. So I think we'll be able to take care of anybody that needs anything. So we're good again. We get really good support with that. We just haven't had the clinic reach out and say that they wanted to. So I was like wow. And then with the CNA stuff, we were Gina went and met with the hospitals and there's a lot of requirements we didn't know like stuff like Billy's clinic requires TB tests and they have to have some other certifications that we didn't work into their fees. So she went ahead and got agreement to do the clinicals at a nursing home for our kids now. And there's no cost. They're going to let us do it for free. And then we'll work with looking at what
that would do to the fees for the CNA class. I don't want to make it so expensive that they can't do it. So, um, also she's going to talk to Billings and find out how they cover those costs with >> Billings Clinic has grants, >> okay, >> for stuff like that. >> She didn't know. She just went in and met. So, okay. >> And also with the EMT, I know that the ER has grants or >> I think our instructor has connections because that one's never come up. It's just been the CNA's new. And I told Gina, I said, "I'm glad you got it free. I don't want these kids stuck with not knowing that they had to pay $150 and get TV tests and stuff. I said, I'd rather we know that upfront so
the kids know here's what here's what you have to come up with. The fees went up $10, but we have a grant to cover the rest of what that is. >> So, but the nursing home she's going to, she said they were really good. So, she and our registered nurse that oversees that part of it went with her and got that set up. So, >> which one? >> Dallas Cusera. >> She has connections with the clinic over here. What's that bulk testing on that TV show? >> So that's what I mean. We just have to get that off. We didn't realize there was that much requirement that went into it. So now next year we will go ahead and start working on that like in May meeting with Billy's clinic and saying, "Okay, what do
we have to have in place? What is the cost and then work out that and see if it's not raising their fees too much then that's great. But otherwise, we'll continue to look for something so the kids don't have to come up with >> Riverstone could I mean if we could like >> Yeah, >> I think that's what you're saying. If we were CNA or CNA, they have to be able to go in and treat patients in actual bed settings. >> No, no, get their TV. >> Yeah, we could tell we could work. >> Yeah, >> maybe they could cut us a deal. >> Yeah, we could talk. That's what I mean. We'll we'll start in May and try to get this all ironed out. Gina knows now what to look for. She said she
just wasn't expecting it to be that that much. >> Vincent did not respond to her. I didn't know that. >> Oh, nice. >> Yeah. So >> we can't change that mid. >> No, I can't do that instruction. The district will just cover it this year. So I thought we're not going to get into that because >> yeah, >> this is our first year. If we have this many kids take it next year, then yeah, we'll start >> because I think the CNA is one of our most popular >> EMT and CNA school for the >> classes. >> Well, I mean they can start. There is a charter school application in that is totally a healthcare aligned for four years for a school that's only got 280 kids. I figure 80 kids will enroll and it's
all for healthcare profession and that's what they do the whole time they're in high school as they go to this charter school and do coding and all this stuff. And I said wow they have two applications in one for that and one for an alternative. And I thought that's over half their high school would be in charter schools. I went who's that Stevensville. >> Oh. So I just read it and I went cold and I were going through them and I said, you know, ours looks pretty good. >> Yeah. >> Now thought of that, [laughter] thousand times of doing it. I mean, I was glad glad that I read that thing about the board meeting before because if we had done it like if I had submitted it on Friday, we would have been rejected.
>> So the lady was really good. She said, "Hey, just put it on our forms, shrink it down to this font." And all of our stuff went on there. Shrunk it down to the required amount. It was great. So good. >> Yeah. Well, if that's it then. [laughter]
