I'm Marca's office. I'm going to swear you in today. Do you mind standing? >> That's awkward. There we go. >> So, I'm going to have you repeat after me and raise your right hand. Okay. So I >> I >> your name >> do solemnly do solemnly swear >> swear >> that I will support protect and defend >> support >> protect >> the Constitution of the United States >> and the Constitution of the state of Montana. Sorry, I'm choking up the state of Montana. >> And that I will discharge the duties that I will discharge >> of my office

with fidelity. >> My office with fidelity >> my fidelity. >> So help me God. >> Thank you. I will give this to Lacy for signatures. >> Okay. >> Thank you. Thank you. >> All right. Thank you. >> Um Yeah. I just want to make sure you know somebody else might >> I second that. >> Vice chair. I nominate Joe. I second that. >> Hold on. Hold on. >> Let's Let's uh So, you want us to vote out here? All in favor of care. I >> I think he said I >> Yeah, I can barely hear you. I'm sorry. >> Well, I'm trying to wait for this fan to go away. There's a fan running right above her. >> For those of you who don't know, lazy among >> I can turn that up a little

bit more at our end, too. >> Do you have your volume all the way up on your end, Lacy? >> I do. our microphone. >> Can you pull her over here? >> Yeah. She doesn't need to see us. Can you guys just hear us? >> She's horrible. >> Sure. It's really fun to see me up really close. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Um I don't see how to make the camera louder. So, do you want me to move it closer to the board? >> Yeah, I can hear you really clear. >> Okay. Is that better? Talk to her. >> Okay. I'll take nomination for vice chair. Nominate Joe. Uh, better. >> Yeah. >> All right. I second that. Okay. All in favor of Joe for vice chair. Unless there's somebody else who wants to do it.

Hi. Hi. >> Okay, now's the tough part. Everybody needs to sign up for >> Oh, here. I'll just pass around the paper. You guys >> Did you just fill it out? Why didn't you just fill it out for us? >> I could have. I can. >> Why don't you just do that? >> I figured that you guys would want to take certain months. >> Is there any months that anybody can't do? Absolutely. Can you meet? >> Yeah, I was going to say if we stick to we're going to try and stick to the meeting like this. >> Well, we can talk about that. >> Should we talk about that first? >> Sure. Yeah, we can. >> So, okay, we'll just move forward to and we will talk about that. We're really not supposed to move

meeting dates half like that. We can move them once in a while for special reasons. >> Mhm. >> Um like our for lacy, right? But um just cuz one of us can't make it, we can't we can't be changing things. As long as we're having a that's part. So if if everybody doesn't mind, I'd like to just first Tuesday, second Tuesday, second Tuesday, third, third Tuesday. I don't Does that still work for you, Lacy? Cuz I know last year that was a topic. >> And then Yeah. Sorry. >> I'll tell you how that Bradford, does that work for you? >> You are. You are now L. >> Yeah. My last thing goes great >> Tuesday. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Works fine. Any Tuesdays are typically okay. I mean, hockey season's a bit of a a

struggle, but I never know when our schedule's going to be. I don't know what it would be this fall. So, >> sure. >> It's fine. >> Tuesdays are fine. >> I like Tuesdays. >> Yeah. about changing the time Tuesday is >> no need that gives that gives people like me time to get home you don't want to come in here after okay so that's kind of that is so now is there any Tuesdays that I guess let's do it this way so I see if there's any Tuesdays that somebody knows they can make it Okay. I'll just like put everybody on here round in the >> Yeah. >> Does that sound good? >> I think that's the easiest way. >> Or I'll just put Josh every now and >> then. That works too. >> Okay,

I can do that. >> Sounds good. >> I'll probably be up here for 4 cuz my work schedule changed. So, I got up at 4:30 now. >> So, that makes that a lot easier. >> So, if there's ever a day that you can't make it, any of us can't make it, call Cody. Sounds good. >> Probably >> no longer back and forth every six months on that >> record. >> Okay, so we've got that part taken care of. Uh committees. >> Uh does anybody have preference for committees? I prefer to stay on the two committees I'm on. All right, Lacy, was there any committees that you were passionate about that you wanted to be on? >> Um, so elaborate a little bit about that. Is it for just the school particular or are you talking

about general? >> It's for the school board like hiring committees, policy committees, um, building committee, >> budget and finance. >> The one with a spot currently open is policy cuz that's what Jason was on. >> There you go. Right. So that's uh if you'd like to come to policies. >> Policy is exciting. >> It is actually the best conversation. I know what that means. Jason would help me a lot. Um so I think that's what he was towards was that I'd be more than happy to take that on. related to collaborate on >> and it's you can still come to other committee meetings if you want. You just can't take part because once we get once there's more than two people there then any decisions we make together become kind of lost. So everybody else

stay. >> Okay. Think we got that part. Um do we want to rehire? >> You actually get to do that later. This is just the appointment. >> So do we have to do anything? >> She does. >> Oh, >> are we ready? Totally. So excited. >> And then after reorganization probably, but we we can do that. >> Okay. Okay, just rewatch. >> I, Lacy Brethren, do solemnly swear that I will support, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Montana, and that I will discharge the duties of my office with fidelity. So, help me God. >> She didn't memorize that. >> I gave her a >> I had a cheat sheet, Lacy. Let's be real. >> Okay. So, we're going to um we're going to adjourn this

meeting and restart. Um meeting adjourned and uh we will call this uh the business meeting to order now. So, Thank you. >> Yes. Thank you. >> Theoretically, yes, we do need an uh uh consent. So, we need to approve the consent. Make a motion to approve this agenda. I'll second that. >> All in favor of approving the consent agenda. I >> I >> Yeah, if I would have realized that, we would have. >> I can redo our how that we do this board meeting in the future. We've just never done it that way, but I certainly can. >> But when Marcia says you have to, >> then you just do it. >> Who made the motion and the second? >> Cody made a motion. I >> Thank you guys. >> All right. So, this is

the part of the meeting we are going to have public comment. This is the time for comment on public matters that is not on the main agenda. Members of the audience are encouraged to briefly address the trustees on an issue that is not on the agenda. The chairman will seek comments from the audience on significant items as they occur on the agenda. Public matters do not include any pending legal matters, private personnel issues, or private student issues. Please do not attempt to address such issues at this time or you will be ruled out of order. To ensure everyone has an opportunity to speak, each speaker will be giving given a twominut time limit. So is there any public comment outside of the agenda? Okay. Maybe read all that. >> Good practice. >> Okay. Um, you're

on, Don. >> I'm on. It is my turn. So, uh, so I would like to first of all welcome everybody to our meeting and I would like to begin with special thanks. So, uh, celebration of staff. First of all, our PTC did a phenomenal job recognizing our teachers and staff at teacher appreciation week, which was May 4th through the 8th. We celebrated all the staff with meals and treats and coffee and all you could eat and so that we were all comos. Uh, and it was really truly wonderful. You did a great job. Thank you for that. Appreciate that. Um, I myself celebrated our certified staff on May 4th by preparing breakfast for them. So, they had breakfast because we had no uh classified staff at school on that day. And then I made lunch

for all of our classified staff on May 12th when we had them at school. So, it was fun. I like to cook, so it was a a fun adventure for me. Then, I would like to welcome our new staff. So, Kaylee Aldrich uh had her first day last week on Wednesday. She is our new district secretary and office manager. So, she is training with Trish. Uh Trish is doing a great job helping her through and she's going to be working with Lacy and um already getting to know the kids. So today was her fourth day and today Terry Zinc, our new head of maintenance and custodian had his first day and he already had to do a problem solving issue. We had um the some pump in the basement. The pump kept beeping and it

turned out that it had shut off the main pump had shut off and it was running on secondary pump. So, uh, he called somebody and they were not available. He called somebody else, they were not available. He called somebody else. They came in and they jump started it like you jump start a car. They jump started the other pump and it worked and so everything's good and there was no charge. So, already doing duties which are great and right on it and so that's great. Um, I am introducing the kids to uh Terry as um we run into different classes and I say this is Mr. Zinc and they're meeting um Mrs. Aldridge as they go to the office and I haven't walked her around yet and I don't know if Trish has or not

so I don't want to step on Trish's toes but if she has not then I will take Kaye around too and introduce her to the kids. So, uh, two great new staff members. It's good to have them on board and I'm glad they're here. Um, upcoming events. I have just a few new ones to add since last time, so I'm not going to go over everything again because you already have heard some of this. So May 19th, I said the last board meeting I would tell you what the boys were going to be doing because the girls are going to FBCC for girls empowerment. So the boys are going to Pacific Steel to Logan Health and to applied materials. So it's great career opportunity for them. Uh May 22nd, 8th grade history trip to Deer

Lodge. May 28th, the 8th grade trip to the fun center. May 29th, the Kyla track meet. And I didn't have that date for you last time. the Amazing Race, which is like a like a treasure hunt. What do you call that? What What's the name of that thing when you scavenger? >> Yeah. But but but there's a certain thing like when you have to uncover things and >> I can't think of the name. That's super fun. Anyway, it's like a big scavenger hunt where they're given clues and in downtown Cal, they have to go find these certain things. So, they're learning a lot about our town. So, that's great. >> Geocaching. That's what I'm thinking about. Yeah. So geocaching, but I don't think this is that indepth, but they're given clues and they have to

find certain things. So the Amazing Race is June 3rd, and I believe that's for our seventh graders. And then the last day of school, as I said, was June 4th. That is an early out. So the kids are out by 1. The fire trucks will be here at 12:40. Kindergarten roundup we had on May 1st, and we have a total of eight students so far that have signed up for kindergarten. We're going to have another kindergarten roundup day on August 26th, which is the first regular day of school. So, um, of course, we we're advertising for, uh, any new students that would like to come in in K through 8, and we'll get the word out about that kindergarten roundup for the second second event on August 26th. And then August 27th and 28th are

kindergarten experience days. And August 31st, which is that Monday, will be the kindergartenner's first full day. Uh I am recommending uh based on my conversation with Melissa Martin who uh tried the first grade experience days last year that we don't do them. She said it wasn't something that the first grade parents really felt that they needed. So and last year was our first year and it was a trial. So we're not going to do first grade experience day. So I am recommending that. Um then I had a conversation the other day with Bob about the school climate survey which I had planned on sending out this year. Um, it has been posted because we did it last year. It has been posted. Um, and the participating stakeholders are students in grades three through eight, staff

and parents and caregivers. And so it's on the school website. It's in the school newsletter. It's on uh our Facebook page. And the survey will be open till June 3rd. And so once once we gather that information, we can compare it to last year. Like how are we doing? What do we still need to work on? What have we made progress on already? So a nice comparison. Next year we will have to do the certified needs assessment again which is a big survey from OPI. This one is also from OPI but it's a lot smaller and that'll be a preface to our reacredititation. So again this this during this survey also helps with our accreditation um and it's API sponsored one. So we have 12 days of school left and summer school begins June 30th.

So that's what I have for today. >> And fourth grade is going fishing Wednesday. >> Oh, fourth grade is going fishing Wednesday. Sorry, I didn't have that on here. Thank you. All right. Do I miss anything except for that? Is that it? Thank you for that. >> All right. that climate survey. What I would like to do if everybody's good with it is when we get the climate survey all back then and we get together as a board on a work meeting and take it and kind of discuss and go over different ones that we'd like to see the board be more involved with that part of it. >> You want to do it during a regular meeting or special? >> No, I think we'll have a special >> separate work session. >> Perfect. So,

one of the things that our MTSS team did with the previous survey is we met for several hours and we broke it down piece by piece to find out what we really needed. So, I went through and I gathered all the data that we had and then we talked about all of it and then we broke that down into what we need to improve on based on the score. Uh, so we have like our our school voice part of it and and then it would be great if they would want to come to that meeting or if you just want to. So yeah, >> I I but I just would like us to be part of and see what those you know we don't see what people are saying about >> well I shared the

information I did share the information with the board before so um about what they were saying so anything that needed work. >> Yeah. >> And as soon as we get the results tallied which will take take me a while before I can put it in a nice format for you because it's a form and I like it to be more of a pros statement. So you can see exactly instead of just a clicking a button so I can give you the actual feedback that we get from from parents and from other stakeholders. Um but that yeah so that takes me a while to get that done but we it will be done and I love the idea of a work session. I think it's a good idea to have a work session. >> Is there

is there anything you want to bring up on your report? >> Um >> not you Lacy this one. Uh the only there's just a new document. The very last document is the student attendance agreements totals, but I have the projected for next year on there. So that would be the only document that would in my opinion be worth >> Is it going to scare us? >> Yes. >> A little bit. >> Yeah. What was our do has our kinderg kindergarten number changed from last time? >> Uh so last year we had a total of ended up with a total of 18 last 18 last year >> and so we're just about halfway there with that right now. Um but I can't predict the future as far as kindergarten enrollment and we've discussed this before about

the COVID numbers. So this year, this particular year was our first COVID year. Next year will be the second COVID year. So I anticipate our kindergarten enrollment is going to decline for probably this year, next year, and the year after. It'll be a lesser of a number than I think it's going to come back up. >> Okay. >> And that's my prediction. I don't I can't tell the future, but that's my prediction. And then families, as you know, families are struggling financially and especially with the cost of gas now. It's everything's going up and they're moving in with other people and life's pretty rough right now. >> Is this something that we can see what the other schools in the surrounding area what their roster looks like? >> So, they're all I can't say they

all are except for the private schools. Most of them are declining in enrollment. >> I think that pilot number is probably the highest I've seen. >> I don't know what the pilot number is right now. >> Well, I mean for outgoing that's on here. >> So talking about our population. Yeah, I was thinking about just their >> No. Yeah. For this one, it's that's a lot. Now, the one thing that might change is if Kyla doesn't keep their after school and before school programs, that might change some of the >> I heard it was definitely phasing out there. That's what I heard. Yeah. >> And if they phase that out, then there may be some people that need to come down here. So, that would be the one thing that could that could um that

we know could affect it. I know I have a coworker who's been trying to figure out his wife went to Kyla, but if they don't have a a program, then they live in our district right on the edge of it. They're on um Bondride Lane. So, it's like right there. >> It is. So, but if we have a program and they don't, then we will almost for sure get their kids. That's two kids that we don't have yet. >> Yeah. And I I mean, from my budgetary perspective, obviously, I'm just bringing this to you guys's attention so that we have it on our radar going into next year. Uh we already know that we're still using the three-year average, but um that's no longer grabbing a high number any any longer on our A and

B. And the further we go this direction, the more we're going to continue to grab a lesser and lesser number every year, which drives our our revenue budget down. For those that are in the room that may not know this, our budget and finance committee has met and we know and we'll talk about later as well, but we are seeing a decrease in our revenue budget from 20 from this fiscal year to next next fiscal year. We have not seen a decrease in our revenue budget since I've been here. So, that's a a big deal. That doesn't just mean that our expenditures are going up. It means that literally the money we're taking in from the government to support our school is going down this year from last year. And as we all know, our

expenses don't go down, our expenses go up. So that just creates a bigger deficit, right? That's what that means. So that's why I wanted to point this report out to you guys. You kind of had it on your radar. That is all I have unless you guys have any questions. >> Anybody have any questions for Lacy? Okay, we'll move on. PTC report. It is a new one. >> I know that's my fault. I'll be better about reporting. >> I like it. >> Good. Uh, we kind of have some stuff to report. Um, okay. So, everybody know probably knows who I am, but I'm Jessica. Hi. Um, I'm part of PTC and she's the president of PTC. >> I'm one of the team members of PTC Smith Valley School. Um, and this is Courtney Love. She

is our secretary. Um, Lacy was our treasure, but she's moving up in the world. So, >> wait. Treasure. She's our treasure. Lacy was our secretary. So, yep. Um, but truthfully, I feel like I should be better at this. Like coming to you guys once or twice a year, giving a report, letting you know like, hey, this is what we're doing. This is what's on our agendas. Um, this is what we have done. So that's kind of just what we're here to talk about today. Um, just so PTC is kind of not like a hidden thing, but a lot of people don't know about it, don't know what we do. Not that we want credit for anything, right? Because we just do things to support the school. Um, but we actually do quite a bit. Uh,

this year we're kind of a skeleton crew. There was maybe four four or five solid people that we had. Um, and we're grateful for everybody. Um, in years past we've had a lot, but this year we've actually accomplished quite a bit for how few of people we actually had, but you know, it's kind of like you have a a few people who would do a really good job. You don't need a whole lot of people. So, that's kind of where we're at right now. But, of course, we would love more people. Um, but I just wanted to come, we wanted to come and let you guys know about some of the things that we did this year. Um we are going to have one more meeting and then we're going to commence for the summer

and then we'll pick back up um this fall. Uh but some things that PTC has done, we hosted junior high dances. Um all the concessions for home games, we do storm apparel. Um people can purchase storm apparel to support our school. Um we donate half of the cost of Missoula Children's Theater. Uh teacher wish list. This year we were able to buy new books for the whole second grade. Um classroom supplies for first grade, a lot of equipment for the playground, um after school equipment. Last year we made a really big purchase and we purchased all new microscopes for seventh grade. It was thousands of dollars and it was the best thing. Like hitting submit on that huge order was fantastic. Um, so that was really cool and these are things that, you know, will

benefit the school for years to come, which is pretty fun. Um, we just wrapped up teacher appreciation week like Don touched on. Uh, Monday we sent a food truck out here. We had an ice cream dessert bar on Tuesday. Um, Wednesdays we had coffees delivered. Thursday some moms came and made breakfast for all the staff, which is pretty cool. Um, and then Friday we did lunch from Moosees. So, it was super fun. You know, Kelsey started a tradition a long time ago about scavenger hunts and we just do fun little things for the staff. Um, you know, it's I don't think we could ever do enough for the staff. Like, we could easily do way more, but we just really want to make sure the staff knows how much we appreciate them. >> It was

amazing. >> Good. I'm glad. It was super fun. Um, >> and we appreciate you guys. >> Well, thank you. And thank you for the card we got. >> You're welcome. I'll pass it around to BTC our next meeting. Um, so I know the agenda says playground improvements. So for the last two years, we have really emphasize the money that we earn, we want to spend on the playground. For years, we have been asked to upgrade the basketball court. Um, the kids are wanting tetherball poles, um, a track around for the kids. Uh, Miss Candid. I know this is her last year, but she really wanted something for the kids to practice for Kyotra meet. The kids take it very seriously and they are very proud of the ribbons that they receive at the Kyotra meet.

So, we have funds to spend. We really haven't had a lot of big purchases besides the microscopes. We've been really blessed by the community. They have poured out thousands and thousands of dollars for us and for the school. Um, I've talked to Don a little bit about what we want to do at the basketball court. Bob walked the playground with me one day just to kind of see what we really wanted to do. Um, tether balls would be great. It's great. And all these things are great for all ages, but our goal really is to improve the playground. Um, we actually have somebody in the community who reached out and wants to donate their time on the asphalt for the for the basketball court. However much they're willing to give, I do not know, but

it sound like they were pretty adamant about wanting to help. All they want is just a sign on our fence. >> Absolutely. >> So cool. If we will pay for a sign on our fence if you want to completely redo the basketball court, you know, or not even completely redo it, but just add on like Bob and I walked. It's not going to take much, but the kids love the black top. The kids love the black top. What's the punishment? You're off the black top. like the kids love black top. So that truly is something that we are passionate about. We really want to hopefully achieve this goal sooner than later because like I said, we do have the funds and we do have people we do have a company willing to come in and

and do that. Don said that, you know, there's going to be a lot of construction this year on the playground, which is great and exciting. Um, so I kind of feel like this just really fits in with what is already going to go on in the playground. So, that's another thing that we can talk about with the board. You know, obviously we need approval on everything. I would love for Don to walk the playground with me like you did, Bob. Um, but you know, PTC, it's we're here to make the school better. And we actually have funds to spend. We our bank account hasn't been like this for a while. So, not to brag, but just the community has been amazing. It's all because of the community and, you know, they have been giving to

a specific fund. So, we really want to honor that. >> Thank you. >> Yeah, >> that's awesome. >> Congratulations. >> That's really cool. >> Super awesome. >> And the teachers really haven't asked for a whole lot. So, that's why we really kind of went a little overboard on teacher appreciation. >> Yeah. >> But yeah, we we would love to work with the board on, you know, accomplishing our goals and the community's goals on the playground, >> whatever that looks like. >> No one asking y'all received. Thank you, Jessica. Yep. >> All right. If you guys get some ideas going and some plans, then uh make sure we get it on an agenda item. >> Absolutely. Yep. And like I said, I'll be better about coming and, you know, talking to you guys. I think I

was talking to Lacy about, you know, twice a year, you know, halfway through the school year, let you guys know where we're at and then the end of the school, let you know like where we're at, where we end, maybe want to accomplish, stuff like that. So, >> but we are here and we're real and we do exist. >> Well, thank you. >> Okay. Uh let's get into some contracts action agenda. >> I'll make a motion to approve TZYNC FY26 maintenance supervisor custodian contract. >> Second. >> Moved a second. Um sounds like he's already doing a good job. >> All in favor? I >> I motion passes. Um >> I'll make ready for things. >> Yeah. >> I'll make a motion for the K. Aldridge FY26 District Secretary Office Manager contract. >> I'll second that.

Move and second. All in favor? I >> I opposed. >> Congrats, Kayla. She's in there. >> She's not. >> Nope. >> She's probably taking pictures somewhere. >> Uh renewal of uh tenure certified staff. >> I'll make a motion to renew. Uh >> I'll just say all tenure. >> All tenur certified. >> I'll second. Moved and seconded. Is there any discussion on this? All in favor? >> I opposed. >> Okay. Renewal of non-tenured certified staff. We have to do these individually. >> I'll make a motion to um renew Shaylee inspect third-year contract. >> I'll second. Moved and seconded. All in favor? I >> I >> opposed. Motion passes. Catherine Daily. >> I'll make a motion to renew Katherine Daly's second contract. >> I'll second that. Moved and seconded. All in favor? >> I opposed. >> Leaf

Ericson. I'll make a motion to approve Leaf Ericson's second year contract. >> I'll second that. Moved and seconded. All in favor? >> I Okay, Kelly Griner. >> I'll make a motion to approve Kelly Grryer. Second contract. >> I'll second that. Moved and second. All in favor? I Motion passes and Sarah Brown. I'll make a motion to approve Sarah Brown second contract. I need a second. >> All right. I'll make a motion for non renewal of Sarah Brown's second contract. >> I'll second that. >> It's moved and seconded. Is there any discussion? Be careful what you say. Um, I've just heard some stuff from some parents through the year and I'm just I don't think that's a good fit for school. Um, that's just what I've heard. So, >> okay. >> My issue has been more

with uh students, speaking with students, obviously my kids, but trying to take in other others as well, just how they feel that they're being treated. And I'm not sure that it's a right fit for the school. I obviously I have to say that Joe's motion was um died for lack of a second and my only deal on this is we have given Don the responsibility to make recommendations I've seen this happen once before the other way around. Um my biggest problem with it is what it does to um chain of command and all that stuff. But I've said my piece. Um, is there any other discussion? Lacy, do you have any kind of input? >> To be really honest, I haven't had much interaction with her. So, I'm I'm a very Switzerland representative here. I'm

sorry. Um, I just don't have much communication with her as my daughter's only in first grade. >> Okay. Um, so I don't see her a whole lot, but I have heard from other parents situations. I just haven't dealt with them firsthand. >> Okay. >> All right. Well, if there's no other discussion, then we will proceed to vote. All in favor for non-renewal of Sarah Brown. >> I. All in favor of saying opposed. >> All opposed to non-renewal. >> I I lacy. >> I guess I guess I don't know the whole situation. I mean, has she been has she been talked to you? Has she been >> So So you have to vote. So we can't discuss. You have to you have to make a vote. a non-renewal on a non-tenure is a is a um

>> without cause. So, we can't talk about >> any of that. >> I I'm it puts you in a tough spot, I know. But like I said, we I have two things now. Number one, Don made the re recommendation of renewal. And I don't believe in not giving somebody a second chance. I would never I would I will never vote to nonrenew on the first on a first year teacher unless unless it's really bad. That's my opinion. So, but I do need u an oppose or in favor of non-renewal from you. >> Um, I'm in in favor of non-renewal. >> Okay, motion passes. Sorry. Okay. Um, renewal of classified staff and you all have your minutes. >> I move or I make a motion for renewal of all classified staff >> attached to the agenda.

>> Attached to the attached to the agenda. >> Second that. >> Moved and second. All in favor? >> I. Okay. Okay. Uh, next one, we need to uh approve Mrs. Dong's extra duty contract. >> I'll make a motion to approve FY26 extra duty contract for the eighth grade field trip to Wong. I'll second that. It's moved and seconded. All in favor? >> I >> Okay. Consider this is a tough one. Consideration of renewal or nonrenewable renewal of our business manager. >> She was a motion. >> Secretary, >> what do you want us to do? Secretary >> Secretary, >> I'll make a motion for renewal of the business manager. >> Second. moved and seconded. All in favor? >> I I >> I >> Okay, so these next three are summer custodian maintenance contracts. Um so we'll

just start with Josh Eastman and work our way down. >> Do we have to include the total the up to 40 hours a week? >> Yes, because they're different. Although did I if I put it in the contract, which I think I did. I put it in the contract. So >> no. Okay. Let's just improve the contract. >> Yes. >> I wish we could do one more thing. >> You can. >> Oh, like all three of them. >> All three of them. >> I'll make a motion to approve the contract to hire Jay Eastman for summer custodial/maintenance. Second. Sorry. >> Moved and seconded. All in favor? I. Hi. >> Okay. Next one. You guys just take turns. >> I'll make a motion to hire the 26 D. Loft summer custodial maintenance contract. >> I'll second.

>> Moved and seconded. All in favor? >> I >> Okay. Um, your turn, Josh. >> Are we on here? >> Tracy. I'll make a motion to hire T. >> Magguire. >> Maguire. Thank you. For summer custodian maintenance up to 85 hours total during summer school. >> Second. >> Does that need to be the 40? >> No, that's part it's all in the contract. Okay. Can we get a second? >> Yes. >> Moved and seconded. All in favor? >> I I >> Okay. um be on here. That that concludes all of our personnel decisions tonight. Um the next one is the interlocal agreement uh with the special ed co-op. >> I'll make a motion to approve SY 2629 interlocal agreement with the Flathead Special Education Co-op. >> I'll second. moved and seconded. All in favor? >>

I >> Okay, do we want to let you do one? >> It'll be a lot easier when you're >> really driving for the rules on this one. >> Well, there's a I've done before and there's a delay so it's kind of hard to even vote. So I need that. >> Oh, >> actually I wanted one of you guys today to do that the number C because it's a kind of MSSA want to have small schools. >> I don't want her to have to do something that she doesn't even know what it's about. >> I'll make a motion to approve the MSSA contract. >> Second. >> Moved and seconded. Um I do want to talk a little what does this do for us though? >> So this is our curriculum consortium. So before we >> So

we changed it. >> Yes. So they the other one bolded. So this is the one that we belong to now and it's the better for our particular school. It's the better of the two that are out there. This is the best. >> This one was new last year. Correct. >> This is new last year. Yes. >> So obviously it was it's done well. >> I think this is the third year. Is it our third year? It could be our third year. This is our third year. This is our third year. >> You're right. >> But through this organization, we get opportunities for um curriculum development and training and uh they keep us a breast of new curriculum requirements that are coming up. Um they also handle our map testing fees, all that stuff. It's required

that we're a part of a consortium or have a curriculum director which would cost us a lot of money. My my job is 0001 criminal director even though technically I'm still that person. Uh this is the formal. >> Okay. Moved and second. Any other discussion? >> All in favor? Opposed? Okay. Um, >> election administration. >> So, obviously this is for next year. >> It is. We have to pass this resolution every year by law. >> Well, that makes voting unique. >> Mhm. >> All of these things that you're doing now except for the summer school program >> are pretty much >> Yep. Make a motion to approve resolution resolution 263 request for Flathead County Election Administrator to conduct FY27 annual school election. Second >> and the nice thing is they do everything. >> Has worked

well so far. >> Moved and seconded. All in favor? >> I opposed. >> Lacy beat you. >> Mhm. >> Truth. Okay. 20 26 summer school program. I'll make a motion. >> Hold on. Mrs. Matt needs to There's a change to this. I apologize. >> So, so there has been a change in this. Uh, one of the pair professionals, Danny Pritchard, said that she doesn't want to do it this summer. So, she is withdrawing her name from this summer employment. >> Okay. Do you have anybody in mind or? >> Uh, no. We just learned it today. So, >> okay. >> We'll find somebody. We have the funding for this program. It comes through title one. So, I was able to get the funding for this program. >> Okay. It looks like the rate of pay is

the same for all pair of professionals. So, you think you put a name in and we're about to So, do we need to alter voting on this at all? >> I would just if I I would just say make a motion to approve the 2026 summer school program and hire the summer school staff other than Mrs. Pritchard since she withdrew her name. I think that would make it the cleanest. So that way we we don't typically I shouldn't say we don't typically we do not issue individual contracts to summer school staff. So essentially by approving the program you're also hiring the staff. So >> why not just improve the program at Mrs. Matt's um >> you could do that do you wish >> direction of of staffing? >> Sure. >> I do want to make

one statement because uh you mentioned that somebody mentioned that all the pairs are paid the same. Actually that's not true. Dorothy Loren is paid more because she also >> Oh, she has over. >> She manages all the food. >> How would you state that, Bob? Motion to approve the summer 2026 program. >> Um motion to approve the program staffing to be determined by Mr. M. I'll make a motion to approve the 2026 summer school program with staffing um being completed by >> I'll second >> moved and seconded. >> All in favor I >> I um new curriculum. Yay. So the inter literacy curriculum is the last uh section of getting this whole curriculum. So the line from kindergarten through 8th grade it we started with K through two then we added three four five and

then six and then six and seven and now the eighth grade is going to be the last section. So we'll be totally aligned. >> So basically this class that's going into eighth grade this year has got to follow this. >> It's following this program and it's a great program. They spent a lot of >> let's try not to have to change it for a while. Yeah, it's a really excellent program. >> It's not just uh not just a literacy, but it actually follows across other disciplines also, which is really great. >> You did notice the shipping address in this quote, which is wrong. We don't want it sent to the Borman school. 600 KV Lane. >> Yeah, he might wonder what's going on. >> Mr. attention to details over there. >> That's why he's on

this board. I tell you, >> we can sell it to them and have it shipped here. I'd be okay with that. >> I'm on board with that idea. >> That's really not a bad price for a new >> I thought you say that wasn't a bad idea. >> So, considering most of our new curriculum is costing the $10,000. >> Yeah. This is five years for >> five years. Y >> and we budgeted for you for this fiscal year. So, we're we're all set. >> Okay. I'll make a motion to approve into literacy curriculum six through 8 version or six slash >> 8 version two 8th grade 5 year. >> I'll second that. >> Moved and seconded. >> I thought it was for 6th through 8th grade. >> No 6-8 just to be real confusing. >>

Yeah, that's >> Yes, it is. You know, it's curriculum number 6-8 version two. >> Yes. >> Okay. Moved and seconded. All in favor? >> I I >> I >> We do try and have fun here, too. Really good. >> Okay. Um, so this part we talked about this at the budget meeting the other night and we come up with this is probably the best way to go if we want to keep our We want to be careful. We're what did you say Lacy? $1,000 in the hall right now. So >> yeah, we're 700 now. So cuz Yep. We're about $700 in the hole. So between 7 and 1,000 is kind of where we run in the second half of the year. So, um, we're recommending that we increase a dollar on each side, I think,

is what it turned out to. Um, that's a minimum increase for most families. And we don't want to not have I mean $1,000 in the hole is nothing compared to what we would lose if we didn't have this. But at the same time, if if we can extend our rating a little bit, um we are uh should run in the red or in the black next year. So that is our goal and we really can't have we can't not have three people >> because you have to have two people at each Well, you have to you never want to have a person by theirel. >> Yeah. >> Um is that another one we have to change a name on? >> Uh no. Uh, well, we're not approving the people. We're just approving rate increases. >>

Okay. >> Yeah, good question. >> All right. >> And that that name doesn't change until next year anyway. >> So, um, so I need a motion to approve um, rate increases of a dollar for 262.7 school year. I'll make a motion to change PJ Club rating in um rates to $3 for Latch King, $12 for BJ. >> I'll second. >> Moved and second. >> So, I I agree with with these numbers. I was looking around at other programs in the valley. Some of the programs are hard because they take the kids for a lot more. But it seemed pretty universal that they had monthly programs which if you paid by the month there I'm sure there's a lot of the kids that it's because their parents work 9 to5 or or whatever and it is

very rigid. I think the way they get away with doing that is their numbers aren't so up and down like a roller coaster and so it's easier to budget. Um, I think this would be good this year, but if this doesn't work next year, look into a monthly and you know, we could we could always break it down where if a parent's just going to be late type thing, but and our numbers, looking at the numbers that we had most of the time over the the monthly numbers, um, the beginning of the year and the end of the year are the times when it's the roller coaster. through the middle of the night with kids in cross country. I mean, we had one day last week there were three kids in after school >> and

it does make it hard because you because of having to have two people in there just >> to cover. >> But like we discussed, it's also the cost of doing business >> because >> we would lose >> I know of at least three kids we would lose. Yeah. Right away. >> Yeah. Oh, it's definitely a program we >> right there. >> Our community is rich. A lot of people are not rich in this community. So, >> no. Yeah. And this it could end up if you could if you could level out numbers, it could be cheaper for those that have to use it all the time. >> Mhm. >> Um, but this is something that it take a pretty d >> anybody on free and reduced is free. We're we're offering reduced lunches and breakfast,

but as far as the actual care for the child, that's what they're paying for. >> Okay. >> So, what I did say is a homeless child would be free, >> right? >> Yes. >> Well, and then also talked about if somebody needed a scholarship that there would be some that there would be an application process, they would need to do something cuz I know of one that the mom was going to school. You had three kids. Well, you got to do something, but she's going to school to improve and get a better job, >> but you got $36 a day in after school. And so, or grants. I >> grants are huge. There's grants are huge. So many grants, >> but that should be our after school person >> looking into those. Not >> I'll

put Joanne on it. >> Not Mrs. Maddie. So actually there is nothing available right now at this time for the after school program grants at this time. There's nothing available. I have to wait until stuff comes up again. >> No, I honestly Don I would assign Joan to do that. >> Have her do it. Take it off your plate. Say, "Hey, take care of this because you can get that money >> every year." You know, >> while Lindsay's playing ball with the kids, she can be on the computer. I mean, >> you got to do stuff to keep it going. Okay. Moved and seconded. All in favor? >> I >> Okay. Do we have any correspondence? >> Nope. >> Okay. >> You guys want to schedule a policy committee meeting? >> Yeah, we do. Uh,

I was sent a policy that um somebody would like us to review. And then I also timeliness just received May policy notes from Tony K at MTSBA. So now we're going to get to review more than just one policy. So who's all on our policy committee now? >> Yay, Cody and Lacy. >> Okay. The last time we did a morning, that wasn't terrible, but >> I I did like the morning. It was actually kind of kind of nice. I didn't I didn't mind the morning one. >> We could do a morning or I don't know. Are you off at 4:30 now or is that a later? >> Yes. >> So, or we could do a starting at 4:30. >> I don't know. >> That's good for you, Lacy. >> I'm the gang beer gang. I

like mornings. >> Okay. >> So, we started at was it 6 when we started? >> One time we started at 6:30. >> I'm not getting up for that. Is that >> you're not on policy? >> That's right. >> Six works for you. >> Six works for me. 6 a.m. >> We could I can look at how many policies we need to review and potentially we can bump that back up to 6:30. Is there a certain day of the week? >> That list from Tony was quite big. >> Oh, I have an open. >> We're going to have to schedule two, I assume. That's how you got it. At least >> maybe a schedule schedule one we'll do it far. >> Oh yeah. >> Then some of that stuff >> some of that stuff we can

probably >> We don't have to do it all at one time. >> Is there a certain day of the week that works better for y'all? >> I like do it on a Friday. >> Don't do it on a Friday. >> You said don't do it on Friday. >> Did you say do or don't? >> Don't. >> That's fair. Don't do it. I'm afraid. >> Uh, what about that first week of June? >> I like that idea. >> That's in two weeks. >> Yeah. >> How about Tuesday, June 2nd? >> Work for me. >> At the coffee shop. >> No, I heard Didn't everybody hear that Cody was bringing donuts? >> No, you misheard. Lacy. >> Josh. Josh can provide >> an IDE. >> I know. Yeah. Someone is not waking up >> that has access

to a meeting at that time, boys. >> Tuesday, June second. I'll send you guys an invite. We'll probably shoot for six. >> Okay. You guys took care of that meeting. >> Thank you everyone. >> Thanks for coming. >> Thank you. >> See you later. >> They just set the table. Okay, hold on. >> I thought if they were stacked, we would resack, but you send me a link for the >> Yeah, the to the calendar invite. Sorry, I have to shut this off. cuz I I wouldn't find you partial.
