001Pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Okay. Um, I need a uh motion to >> I'll make a motion to approve the consent agenda. >> I'll second. >> Moved and seconded. All in favor? >> I opposed. >> I just put Jason down for motion. >> Sure. >> Yeah. >> Public comment. Is there anybody that is here to make public comment? You're later. You don't get to make So, okay, seeing none, we will move on. Um, done. >> All right. So, welcome everybody. Thanks for coming to our meeting. It's always great to see you, especially on a beautiful sunny day. Uh, so a few things. So, I would like to talk about

002things that have been happen that have happened recently. So, we had our student awards assembly just after we had our last meeting. And so I do not have the attendance results. I don't have those numbers. But for outstanding citiz citizenship, we recognize 34 K through eight students. For outstanding math, we recognize 10 K through four students. Outstanding reading, 10 through 10 students, K through 4. For outstanding ELA in fifth grade, only two students. Outstanding science in fifth grade, only two students. For most improved math, K through 8, 16 students. Most improved reading K through 8 15 students. Most improved ELA in grades four through six for students. And then the middle school we are doing something new this year which is the honor roles. So for 3.5 to 3.99 cumulative GPA for all subjects not

003just the core subjects. We had 17 students and for a 4.0 middle school honor role we had one student and that was Keith S. So, congratulations to him. Uh, so congratulations to all students. And like I said, I don't have the perfect attendance and outstanding attendance uh results. I do have them, but I do not have them on my computer. They're on a piece of paper. I'm sorry. I apologize. I will bring that next time. Uh, so cross country, we've had three meets today. They always happen on a Tuesday. They were April 7th, 14th, and 21st at West Evergreen, at West Valley Evergreen, and West Valley again. On April 16th, we had the Glacier F and Drum Corps come for a presentation to grades 3 through 5. And they had traditional costumes. They had our

004kids dress up in traditional costumes and pretend to be um alive uh in those days. So, um they served gingerbread. They talked about not having cell phones and not having cars and all of those things with the kids. And uh ask questions. uh for example, how long do you think it would take you to get to Missoula? And so their answers were very interesting answers. Um because they they talked about what they know, right? So so it was great to have them. They played the FS and the drums and um a couple of our kids got to to hold on to a F and I think that they were a little bit flabbergasted because they didn't know what to do. It was like, would you like to hold this? Well, uh yeah, but what do

005I do with it? So, so they held it up and they pretended to play and they were really cute. So, anyway, that was great to have them here and it didn't cost us anything. It was a a free uh grade level a grade appropriate educational program for the kiddos. So, um and then April 17th we had our spring goingo. So, that was just this past Friday. I did not get to go. Um unfortunately, it's the first event that I've missed, the first home event that I've missed since I've been working here. Um, but my understanding is it went really well and um they had some great prizes, like phenomenal prizes and I guess that Mr. Brown, our fourth grade teacher, I guess he made out like a bandit. He got a couple of really great

006great prizes. So good for him. You go Mr. Brown. So that's awesome. Then upcoming events, we have quite a bit coming on. So, uh, starting tomorrow, the sixth grade goes to the science goes on their science trip at the Lutheran camp. And then we have our remaining um cross country meets April 28th at Crestston. May 5th we're the host and that will be evergreen. And the final meets are May 11th, 12th and 14th. Now I don't know which of those days that we are actually running. May 1st kindergarten roundups. So be interesting to see what our numbers look like this year because we cannot predict the future. May 4th is no school. It's a teacher work day. May 19th, they have girl empowerment at FBCC. And so even though that's called Girl Empowerment and it

007it takes place for the girls, they also have a parallel event for the boys. And I don't know what that event is going to be yet. Um last year, my understanding is that they went to Proof and they got to explore some of the machinery aspects over there. And so that was interesting for them. But it's all about developing, you know, into a person who thinks about their their future, right? So, what's going to be happening in their future life? May 21st, Rocket Rally in the middle school, the 27th, staff and students, volleyball game at 1:30 in the afternoon. So, come and cheer everybody on. >> Nope, the staff. Come and cheer the staff on. >> Come and cheer everybody on. And then graduation June 1st. I know it just depends who you are, right?

008Should we cheer for Lacy or should we cheer for poor eighth graders? >> Oh, stop. Like not a question, right? So, that is what is going on right now. So, um I think that's basically what I have. Today was Oh, I know. No, that's comes later. Uh today was our 139th day of school. And that being said, tomorrow is admin appreciation day. So, I will be recognizing Lacy and Trish this week and I will treat them to something special. So, that'll be fun. So I one to one to thank because they're amazing. So yay. Wonderful. All right, that's all I have. Thanks. >> Speaking of graduation, is there anybody here that has anybody graduated? >> Yes. Both of you? >> Yeah. So, it's not >> I will I will I was I was going to

009do it if nobody else was, but if you guys want to, we can split time up there. >> He was just talking about that earlier. How much you wanted to do? >> I the only reason I would go up there is for Absolutely. You should. >> You should, though. You should. Just like you should go for yours, too. It >> It's a great experience. I had it last year. >> You should. It's fun. So, why don't you all three go up there and figure out what you're going to do? >> Yeah. Well, we can alternate. >> We can easily work. >> I was going to say if you want to make the kids uncomfortable, all three shake. >> You know what? You know what's going to be fun is No one doesn't like hugs. >>

010Getting a hug. >> I gave Courtney a hug. >> Did you? >> Well, I did Lily, too. But that was a little that was a little easier. >> Well, you guys should all go up there, you know. I I don't see any reason why you shouldn't. You should all go I'll go up there. >> Make it even worse, Bob. Just have somebody else hug. >> Yeah, exactly. >> All right. I just wanted to see I just wanted to check on that because that's something we got to think about. So, >> okay. What do you see? >> Uh, yeah. I unless anyone has any questions about the reports. >> Excuse me. the the one thing that I kind of want to just bug in your ear, start to think about is PJ club again. We're going

011to need to talk about it. Um I think at this point in the year since we're end of April, we just ride it out at a loss for the rest of this year. We're going to have to obviously supplement that loss. It can't run in the negative cuz it's a cash account. Um so I'll be making a recommendation. >> We were doing really well with EJ. >> It was breaking It was essentially breaking even. We were making a little but then kind of after December I think is when it if people correct me if I'm wrong but I feel like after December December was a short month as it always is and then we have been running behind every month since then and each month it's going a little further behind than it was the

012previous month which is >> is it people not paying or we >> um right now with cross country >> to not getting >> so I'm looking cuz I get to see I can see four >> if there's four in there it's not going pay for itself. But then others there's been 15, >> right? >> So, >> but right now with cross country, those Tuesdays, Thursdays are low, >> especially like Tuesday because of they go to a meet, so they're not here at all. >> Right. >> Um >> it could be that in the future that maybe we just offer PJ club for a part of the year. So, you know, because when we have the beginning of the year, we have the volleyball and girls festival, boys basketball, right? So we have a lot of

013people that need care but then maybe once we get cross country we need >> the difficult part of that is that once somebody >> like that that's their childare their childare >> do like a monthly plan or something >> this is like a food for thought for you guys things that we need to >> right we don't have to discuss >> we will have to be discussing it over the summer to make a decision and early summer would be better so that we you know if we do like we talked about last year if we do cancel it or we raise the rate or we do something that we're giving our parents the information plenty in advance so that they can be, you know, making arrangements or figuring out what they need at all at

014all. >> Any grants for that? >> I don't know. >> To only do enough to cover the loss. Like I'm not not telling parents, oh, it's free. >> No, we don't want to do that. >> Yeah. And it's not a huge loss. So, we could also I mean, you could even ask for donations. What was the loss? I don't have the form in front. It was like 19. No, it's like a,000. It's like $1,000, right? I can open it. Hold on. Let me open it. I don't have the form in front of me. Let me look at it. >> I know several that go to that and if we didn't have it, their kids were going to be going to another school. So, you have to look at Right. >> Absolutely. >> That $1,000 is

015cheap >> for And they to lose one A and B. >> Exactly. >> Yep. >> Yeah. So, it's $1,900 in the in the but we made a $900 deposit. So, it's about a,000 just like that. So, it's it's running about $1,000 in the negative, which is not significant. >> It is if we're talking about a cash now, I mean, >> it won't change between now and the end of the year, unfortunately, because if you think about how many school days are left and the fact that it is spring and some, you know, going into the warm time and it's go cross country is a big I know that we did this happen last spring, too. It's a big puller of the kids out of PJ club >> and maybe that's something that we have to

016plan for. Maybe we do raise the rates of PJ so that it runs more in the black so that when we hit the spring and it starts to dip, we don't go into the red. You know, maybe that's just food for thought on how to make it be solvent. >> Well, and if we can stay within a thousand, I don't mind subsidizing it a little bit. >> Yeah, we don't have a thousand, but I I agree. We have to >> we have to weigh that, too. We can't afford to lose the A and B for theamilies. >> And if you get too expensive, then they're still not going they're still going to look at other options. >> Yeah. And we do I mean one place that we can subsidize it from if you look at

017our fund 15 balances which are attached you know we could choose we could say you know what we're actually okay with it running at this level of in the red. We're okay with that and we're going to pull it from like the interest fund out of fund 15. We're going to take fund 15 interest every year in the spring when PJ runs in the hole and we're going to subsidize PJ from that fund. You know, may maybe that's what the board decides. It doesn't have to be a we close PJ, we raise rates, we it could be something like that, >> right? Or we find something somewhere else >> because if you look again at this year, it ran in the black for half the year and then it is running in the red but

018not a huge amount, right? We're not we're not taking a giant loss on this. And again, is the loss worth it to support the families that use it? And do can we pay for it from another fund? >> Well, it's definitely a benefit. You know, our families our families count on us for a lot of things and that's that's one of those things that's really important to them. So, absolutely. >> And Dorothy's I mean, it's not out of the realm to look and see if there's grants available for I would say I would shoot for that honestly. a grant to pay for that and wages because then that takes care of it just with the pickle that we're in going into this year. I mean, but we're running tight. But >> yeah, I don't see

019I don't see raising rates and causing a problem with that. We'll talk about it next week. So, >> I would say a June board meeting would be the time cuz then we'll have our full year >> we can pull the count headcounts and stuff. >> Yeah. At the June board meeting, we'll have the May reports which will be pretty much all of it. We'll only be missing those few days of school in June. >> Yeah, >> cuz we won't have our June reports in June. >> We'll miss one week. >> Sure. >> And I can get you the numbers as far as how what the attendance was >> because I have it for the after school snack. >> Yeah. >> So they were at least there at 4:00 >> and they pay that flat fee.

020So if they got a snack, then they were charged for after school. So I do have those monthly reports. >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. Anybody have any questions for Macy? Okay. Um, as most of you probably got an email, uh, J Marsh resigned. Um, we are working on >> We are working on finding someone for sure. >> So, is it an immediate nurse through the school year? >> It would be a replacement. >> Oh, no. Sorry. He resigned effective the 10th of April. So, he gave a two week notice. >> Okay. It's just feels like it's been forever ago cuz our March board meeting was really early. >> Yeah. >> So, >> facilities report though. >> Okay. Uh, so the facilities committee did meet since our last board meeting and I got the meeting

021minutes here. Uh, we made it all the way through our spreadsheet, came up with what we felt was an estimated cost for projects. uh made it all the way through that and then we went through and kind of rep prioritized what projects we felt needed to be done, you know, sooner rather than later and and really laid out that five-year plan. Um so in the meeting minutes here, we got uh the committee recommends the following items for fiscal year 26 with an estimated cost of $17,000. And the the list is here. It's there's like about 20 items on it. A couple of those we've already approved like the uh gym roof. I mean that was $32,000 or something. So that's already accounted for in there. And I think there was another one in this list

022that's already been approved. Um and then what else do we have on here for the notes? Um so the school receives state ma uh major state major maintenance aid funds and the permissive levy for building reserve. Um those two things together was around 64,000. So, we're saying we need to spend about 40,000 45,000 estimated higher than what our building reserve funds for this year. And many of these things we feel we cannot push off. I mean, they've been deferred for long enough. I mean, the like the siding on the building is one of them on the list here. So, we kind of built a plan. you know, this needs to be done by the end of 2026. This needs to be done by the end of 2030 and allocated. You know, okay, what is the

023ne what's necessary? What would we like? And these are pretty much the bottom line numbers of there's so much that has been put off over the last 15 years that we can't put them off anymore. >> Well, and then we did look at like fiscal year 27 and 28. We're forecasting the facility's needs. is going to out exceed the budget again. So, it's not like we just want to push things off for a year. It's like we just got to got to do it, I think. >> And every year stuff goes up. >> Yeah. >> Every year. >> Yeah. The way inflation goes up essentially it's what the next two two or three years will be over budget in order to get things back on track with a normal maintenance cycle. >> And to be

024clear, we have the money in building reserve. It's just not replenishable. So what Joe was referring to that that amount will replenish next year. So he's saying that we need >> we're going to need about $40,000 over what's in there. We have it in building reserve. It's just not going to refill. >> And we still have money in Borman. >> We still have money in Borman fund and we still have money in the interlocal fund cuz we did a good job of putting money in there during co. >> So we have options. >> We have options. So the facilities committee feels very strongly that we should do the things on the list even though it would you know and we can choose what fund to pay it out of. It's really kind of a little

025bit of sixes honestly. Um obviously we would hit the building reserve fund for at least that replenishable 60ome thousand >> but that other piece we could pay out of building reserve we pay out pay out interlocal. It really doesn't matter. There's no real benefit. Well, the government fund is there. I mean, >> we're gaining interest on it. That's about all it's doing >> on all of those. All of those gain interest. So, it doesn't really matter which one we pull it from cuz >> Yeah. >> I do want to say that West Hills Chapel has agreed to do the work to raise the depths. So, we've got uh who's the gentleman that is donating the truck. Hans >> Hansen. So he is going to donate the majority of the tracking for that and West Hills

026want to do the building. >> Cool. >> So that'll be the week after. >> So >> the steps are going to be replaced with >> with more steps. >> Tracks, decking. >> Nice. >> The nice stuff. >> Are we responsible for framing, purchasing the lumber for the frame? I've talked to Josiah and they're going to come in there and take a look and see what needs to be done. Um, if we have what they're going to try to do is reuse the boards on top for supports underneath if we need it. So, um, and if there's any extra like minor stuff, we can go ahead and and pay for that. But, you know, they've got tools, they've got contractors in in the congregation that are willing to work and so fantastic. >> Very nice. We

027don't have any more Eagle Scouts, so I put it that way. Uh, Eagle Scout project >> the steps. >> Hey, Bob, I think you and I are the only two that have been here that long to know that. >> See, I'm not sure which. >> Yeah. No, that was the the steps originally when they put those in. That was an Eagle Scout project. >> Young men did that all day. So, >> all of those steps one person warranty Poor guy's like 40 now. >> I was going to say they they've been there longer than >> Got to come back. >> Well, it was real interesting coming down that hill. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Um the certified lane change. >> Yeah. And these are these are due per the CBA by April 1st, but I had

028it by April 1st. This is just what I'm letting you guys know cuz it came to me before April 1st, but this is the first meeting we've had since >> since then. So we have >> So we don't have to worry about anybody else. >> Yes, we had three in total come in. You had I think I one on each meeting for the last three weeks. And >> they were all single steps, right? Yes, ex. Yes, >> cuz she went all the way over to the masters, but the other two were a single day change. >> Okay, we will continue on with our action agenda. Um Joe, do you want to make a motion? >> Sure. >> I'll make a motion to hire Beverly Crane as the special education teacher. I will second that motion.

029>> Beverly, would you like to introduce yourself? >> I remember you said something about public speaking. >> Yeah. Um I'm Beverly Crane. Um I'm currently teaching SPED at Russell Elementary. Um there was an emergency situation at the beginning of the year where we lost a teacher and I kind of jumped over in that in that spot. Um I taught special ed at Elro Elementary um for about three years. Yeah, I'm happy to be here. Excited. >> Okay. >> Welcome. Awesome. Thank you. >> All right. It's been moved and second. Anybody have any questions? >> All in favor? See you by saying I >> I guess now I should say welcome. >> Now it's official. Okay. >> Okay. Well, welcome to our school. um 100 building sighting bits. So you guys had uh bits from Artisan

030um and from copper builders, copper mountain builders. Um there is one bit that is way outside. Um, so, um, the artisan bid is outside of our budget if we don't want to go with these. So, I'm going to make a suggestion if there is no uh if there's nobody that has a problem with it that we just tap this until next week. Or we could do it on our We're going to have a special meeting. Yeah. Um we can do it at that meeting. Um go search out more bids and see if we can get somebody that's uh what we want. And I would like to explore a little bit tonight of what do we want? What what would you guys >> Material-wise, what would you guys suggest as you're the builder, guys? So, yeah.

031>> Um, yeah. I saw this vinyl quote and I was really going back and forth on that if that's a good idea. I mean, it it'll provide better resistance against salt on the sidewalks. That's really the benefit I see. But so when flashing, if you have adequate flashing, the right flashing, >> working metal, right? >> Well, the Yeah, the metal could rust faster if salt is used heavily in those areas. Um, ultimately like a steel sighting is going to be far more durable, >> right? And I didn't see um Did anybody see was there a warranty quote on that PVC? >> Um I want to say it was 30 years, but I don't remember. I don't know if that was in the quote or if I just found that material representing a quote on the

032um this does say it's an 052 thickness almost a 16th 16th thick which puts it on a higher end you know high quality vinyl. It's not. >> How do those do it for you? >> That's my only concern. >> um I mean I don't have a problem with vinyl if we >> It does say contractor provides a 2-year workmanship warranty. Don't see >> we're talking about >> I see it says lifetime limited warranty. doesn't really break down. >> That's for the board. >> Mhm. >> We know we don't want to go with LP smart sighting. Um I would not recommend LP smart sighting next to the sidewalks. >> That'll just create moisture. >> Now, there will be one advantage that we do have is the sidewalk now goes up against This is going to set

033on top of the sidewalk now. >> Uh, >> they're not going to be able to get down. >> There should be a face flashing down there. >> They're going to have to flash it and then and then sit on top of it because they're going to have to just There's no way they're going to get down next to it. So, there would be that. But >> does say it has lifetime fade protection. >> Okay. So, that would be the volume. And I don't I don't >> It just says lifetime limited warranty, but it doesn't spell out what >> what that tells >> what that warranty is. >> Yeah. When I was doing the research, it seems like most sighting manufacturers say 30 years. >> That was just kind of the >> the good. >> How

034far up are their >> was their bid? How far >> uh vertical? >> Yeah. Um, I want to say this was went 4T6 on the art. Is it whatever? >> 4 ft up from the base. >> Okay. So, that's high enough to get to cover everything. >> Is that all the way around or is that just where it needs it? >> Uh, no. This is just where it needs it. >> That's where it needs it. So, they're going to have to match color >> or or do a compliment >> or do a compliment color, but >> Well, it specifically says in here that it was charcoal gray because they could get very good pricing on that. >> Okay. So like the color was actually called out in the original and so that's why the >>

035and then and then there was also a discount that they was that on the PVC that that emailed discount. >> Yeah. So it would take this 18023 >> to 15 something. I have to go find the the email. Sorry. Take it down to >> one thing about the demolition removal and replacement. It says limited to surface materials and does not include concealed materials or substrates. So, does that mean literally the surface or does that mean like the first couple of inches? >> They're going to take that bad stuff off. They're going to cut it off, >> right? >> But if there's anything inside the walls that that has to be replaced, that's not covered. And everybody's going to that's going to be >> uh 15365. >> Um so either way, I if if you guys

036want to go if somebody wants to make a motion and and accept that bid, that's otherwise we just wait for weeks. I think waiting is fine. The scope of the work we don't plan on doing until everyone's out of school anyway, >> right? >> So there's no immediate rush >> other than getting on somebody's schedule. >> Other than that, yes. >> How long is this quote bid for? >> So until May 20th, >> that would be right after our next meeting. I the >> I saw that >> my Yeah, my only concern that would that would be my only concern. Yeah, May 20th is accurate. That's my only concern is in talking to a couple cuz I've been the one talking to folks now. They're saying certain people. So, for example, some one person that

037was going to bid it out talked to uh we were looking at Brick at one point and there's nobody that he could find to even go out Brick cuz they're already booked for the entire summer, >> right? >> So, not I don't know about the rest of the materials. I'm just that is a concern with waiting until the May board meeting. I'm just throwing it out there and I know we're going to have a special meeting and we can look at >> if we're going to do this, it's going to be at the special meeting or we're going to make a decision. One of the two. >> Should we have the goal of the special meeting to come up? We'll take whatever we have and at the next board meeting >> a decision must be

038made. >> So, hey, this the committee recommends this decision instead of having to argue at that moment. Do we want to try something? I mean, obviously that's just a goal and not a rule that will follow the I mean, I think that somebody could make a motion to table um and with the intent of making a decision at our special board meeting, which is we don't have a schedule date yet, but it's going to be before our May board meeting because we want to hire an office manager. So, >> and hopefully custodian >> hopefully custodian. >> So, I'll I'll make a motion to table. >> We don't have to make a motion. I'll just table it. >> Okay. Okay. Well, if you guys know anybody that wants to make it, um hopefully we're what we're

039hoping for is um to have a special meeting that will accomplish now three things. hiring a maintenance guy, hiring a office manager, which is already in the works, and then now the job. >> All right, kitchen flooring bids. >> Hi. >> Talk to us. >> I'm glad I was part of it because Jay's not here. So now you get me. So you can see that there's three bids. Epoxy Pros was 7,300. There is a lower part of that bid that says if we don't do the vapor barrier, we can do it for this amount except you void the whole warranty if you don't do the vapor barrier. So, he's out at 7,300. That leaves us with um Highline at 44 and um Great Northern at 56. Between the two of them, um the gentleman from

040Great Northern really seemed to know what he was talking about. uh talked about everything that that has to be done in a commercial kitchen. Um he is got a $2 million bond plus an additional $1.5 million bond for government contracts. He does all of Zantara's work at the Glacier National Park. Also does work for Columbia Falls. I did call his references. Did try to get him I sent him an email saying if you would bring this down below 5,000 I could we could approve it right now. And he didn't respond to that email. So I get that. Um, he's booked out till 2027. However, this is a small job and he lives on on Vanderhid. So, I did communicate with him because Bob was saying that maybe we could get that done at the same

041time that the roof is being done in the gym. And I contacted him and asked him if he'd be able to do it then and he would be able to. So, um, the $4,400 one Highline, they've only been in business for a couple years. Uh, it was him and his wife and his wife had to say, "Well, make sure you measure that." and did you remember to measure that? And he's like, "Well, I didn't." >> You know, so you you um obviously like I said, the highest one's out. Um this I think a gentleman you contacted me about warranty. Uh it's a lifetime warranty for most of the time on the on the materials itself. It's a 2-year workmanship warranty um for the Great Northern. I the other two didn't respond to me. So that's

042what I know. >> Did you also have to have that? What was it? An underllayment or something? What did you call it? A >> a vapor barrier. Vapor barrier. >> They include the other two include the vapor barrier, I guess. >> And that also includes um so uh I can't remember. Jack Jack's the guy from Great Northern was talking about. So the the whole um mop board has to come up. It's 6 in of mopboard and he will be treating that for mold because that's one of the first places that mold will build up and that will be treated before he then redo it. Obviously, when we have everything, everything has to come out. It's done in one pour. Um, so we have to have the electrician come and disconnect certain things. We'll have to

043have a plumber come and take out things for us. That's not included in that. Um, Lacy and I were talking about that. It's just kind of it's going to be our our electrician and our plumber that will do it. Um the hardest part is going to be getting that oven out, but I don't think we need to pay $1,500 to somebody to take it out of there and put it back in like we did when we initially got it. We've got that forklift that'll go up. Uh I think we can get that out and so does Bob. So does Joe. These guys have Yeah, we don't. >> If we have to, we'll have a special meeting. >> Yeah. um >> work. >> It needs to be done because the health department has commented on that

044chipping floor. >> Y >> So, >> okay, >> this is the easiest thing. I think we would paint the whole It would just we painted, everything would get done and it should be good for quite a few years. >> Yeah, as long as you've got that opened up, everything out of there. I would see the walls painted. >> Yep. So, my recommendation is great morning. >> It's only a $600 $700 difference. >> $1,200 difference. >> One's 44, one's 56. >> Oh, okay. I was thinking 49. >> 49. >> Yeah, it's 44.90. >> Okay. 45. So, yeah. Um, I do agree though. I think we can feel we'll feel a lot better with somebody who's done it for a while >> for a long time. Highline's been about 2 years. >> The other thing is this

045is a public facility and we serve kids. So, we have to make sure we have somebody who knows what they're doing. >> Right. And I mean, go ahead. He's got more. He's got the um insurance and license that we happen to have. >> Yeah. And I didn't ask the other guy. I mean, I just know >> I'm sure he's licensed, but I don't know how much insurance he's carrying. >> Yeah. Um and I asked them to do it as a flake. There's a So that way not every little speck of dirt is going to show up on that floor cuz it'll be a flake. And I And I said to him, I said, "So what if it chips?" He says, "For what you do in this kitchen, if that floor chips, then the then the

046actual product itself, >> then we need to hire somebody else. >> It's defective." He said, "Knock that oven over, you know, but it's going to take just dropping a pan in there is not going to hurt that floor." >> But if they if if something did happen, are they able to just >> fix it? >> Fix that to redo the whole thing. No, that's another nice thing about just having the flake is if you do have something like that happen, you're not going to see it because that flake is in the floor and it's just going to cover up anything. >> Okay. I would entertain a motion. >> I'll make a motion to approve and proceed with the Rocky Mountain. >> Thank you. Great flooring bed. I'll >> second. Moved and seconded. Any discussion? Seeing

047none, all in favor? >> I opposed. >> So, Lacy, do I email him or do you email him? Cuz I >> You can >> I pulled up the bid to send it to Lacy and I accidentally hit accept. So, I accepted his bid and then I emailed him. I called him and then I emailed him. I said, you know, I said, "As for our conversation on the phone, oops, I did not mean to do that." And then, uh, When is the roof being done in the gym? >> It is >> shooting for the second week of June. >> I sent an email. Hold on. I >> see. >> Starting June 8th. >> And how long is that supposed to take? >> Two weeks. >> Okay. I think >> No, >> it's not supposed to take.

048I don't know. >> Sorry. It's going to be just over a week probably. >> Sorry. Cuz what I have to co coordinate with is an electrician, a planner, myself getting everything that that everything out >> um of my Yeah. >> Does it affect your summer program? >> No, because the summer's program doesn't start until >> there's a two week gap there. That's that's >> And they need 3 to 4 days and then it to do their work and then it needs a curing time. So that'll work. >> So June 8th is the Monday after school gets out. So you >> you go ahead. >> You got the weekend to get it out and paint. >> You go ahead and coordinate with him. >> Get her done. >> Sounds wonderful. >> Okay. >> We have one

049bid on uh >> concrete. >> No, we did. We already said we >> we voted. We said yes. >> There was a slip during that part, I guess. Well, that's >> You can't check out for their mother computer in front of the windows. >> Um, you have a bid from Sand Construction um for the concrete on the sidewalks. Joe, you want to talk about this a little bit or what you guys? So, we did have some of the items on our maintenance list was fixing the concrete outside the playground double doors because right now it's not accessible. The parking lot from or not the parking lot, the sidewalk from the staff parking lot to the gym entrance doors over there is a little rough. Um, definitely some spots that need repair on there. And the

050other one we were just looking at was a sidewalk to the portable That way we have ADA access from the sidewalk existing sidewalk over to that ramp. Um, but when I looked at this bid, I don't see that. >> That's correct. >> I did not have him include that part because we don't have the information on getting it dug up for water and sewer. So, if we wanted to wait to do it all together, then we would have to wait a while to make sure that we have all of that done before we do that. And frankly, that pad needs done like now. And that pad is a tiny job and it's going to cost us an arm and a leg if we don't pair it with another job. That sidewalk, if anybody hasn't walked

051it, cuz I walked it took the bidding process. >> It's in really bad shape. >> So dangerous. >> It's in really bad shape. >> Uh we have a cart along that like my delivery and it hits that talk. It's a bad for someone who's visually impaired, someone who uses a walker or a cane or wheelchair, it's bad news. >> Multiple locations along the sidewalk, it's bad for Okay. >> Yes. There are some places where there's a like a recess like this. >> Yeah, I I knew about that one. >> There's more than one of those. >> Is there one? >> Mhm. >> Where >> for getting all the plumbing and stuff in? I'm trying to remember where we were with that. That was >> Matt is checking on those things. >> Yes, I'm checking with

052that. It's the next thing on the list. >> You're talking about that was on the 2026, right? It is the next thing on the list. >> And we may, it's possible we may have to move that to 20 to like after July 1st. We might have to move it to after July 1st, which would put it into next year, but still we need to still get it done. I personally think, just this is my perspective, I think that we should wait on that item until we've hired a maintenance individual because I don't think that should be on the plate of our superintendent to be tracking all of that because you're also it isn't just as simple as digging a water and a sewer line. It's as tying into our sewer, tying into our water, all

053the things that we would want our maintenance person to take the lead on. So, >> and the water's got to go 6 ft down. The reason why I moved forward with the bid from Sanded for those two sidewalks is I believe that we should get those done ASAP and I did not feel like it was worth waiting to tie into that sidewalk job out there. Um that that was my why I collected the bid. You guys don't have to go with it if you don't want to. I did have to get two bids because obviously I'd rather have two bids. Um I also had the gentleman come out that did the repair of the sidewalk through the pencils. Remember when it was down forever and ever? He came back in and actually fixed it. I

054did have him come out, but he doesn't do tear out, so he would have to contract with somebody else to do the tear out, and he didn't think he could get that information. Well, clearly he cuz he told me if he could, he would get it to me, but he didn't get that information from that other individual. Um, he also made a comment to me that he didn't think he could get that individual back out to bid it because he had already been out here with Jay before looking at the portable, looking at that sidewalk, looking at that front pad, and we didn't move forward with anything. I wasn't made aware of any of these things. So, I was a little bit in the dark, but he was pretty frustrated and didn't think that he

055could get his guide to bid again cuz he said it's a waste of his time. >> I didn't know he was in all those things. So, I just said, you know, obviously I apologize. I I'm just kind of coming in the middle. This is where we are. This is what we need. Um, so he did not get his bid to me by the deadline. I have not heard from him since he was out here. So, I don't anticipate receiving a bid from him. >> He has no >> I reached out to Sanden because Sanden is who did the sidewalk out front from the bottom of the stairs down to the front entrance and then to the pencils when I the very first year I was here. and it's in great shape. It did have one

056spot that had a problem. They came out, Jack hammered it out, replaced it. So, we've had good experience with them as a company. >> That's why I called them for the bit. If we want to seek additional bids, that's totally fine. Again, I go back to the I don't know what people's schedules look like for summer. I don't know how long we want to this bid is over what we put on our like placeholder on that spreadsheet. It was about $4,000 higher than that. Granted, we're kind of throwing darts at a wall when we're sitting in the facilities meeting. We're not we're we're just guesstimating what those numbers are going to be. Uh obviously, all of our bids can't come in $4,000 higher than what we throw on the piece of paper, but that's kind

057of where we're at. There's all the information. Y'all do what you will with it. >> It's 4,000. But honestly, I mean, I think that our sighting bids are lower than I expected them to be. depending on where we go. But even if we went with that PVC, I was expecting a $20,000. >> Yeah. I don't remember what we put in on that line item for the size packaging. 18,000. So if we take the $15,000 bid, we save three there and we add four here. We're doing pretty good. Well, and hold on. We said that we we threw $2,000 for the ADA ramp. Oh, no. Did I add those together already? Yeah, I added those together already. Yeah, cuz that's 12. >> 12 is what we had on here for the >> Yeah. So, this is

0584,800 higher. >> But it is what it is. >> We're not >> I agree I agree with Lacy. We can't wait if we're not ADA compliant going into the playground. >> The double doors is bad. I don't know if anybody's doing that, but it's bad. And we can't, >> it would be foolish of us to pay somebody to come out and just do that >> when that sidewalk is in that kind of shape. >> We could do pieces and parts of that sidewalk, but I walked it twice with the two people that came and did it. I would highly recommend the whole sidewalk. And I am like the biggest penny pincher in this room. >> It's been patched since I've been here. That sidewalk is has been patched every year since I've >> It's in

059really rushing. So >> I think >> unless somebody's got any ideas for other other contractors, I think you kind of know where we have to go. So >> I didn't hear what you said. >> I said unless somebody's got some ideas for other contractors, I think we're kind of >> we know where we have to go. >> Yeah. >> We have to become compliant. >> I think you can't take a chance on getting sued over somebody tripping on a cracking that sidewalk. Yeah. >> Yeah. I think if we could have boxed it all together, then yeah, that would have been fantastic. But we're getting two/3 of it in one bid cuz I think just got to be good enough for now. Well, then maybe we still have the option, you know, whoever comes out with

060an excavator to do the the water line and and sewer line to the portable, maybe they'd be willing to do some concrete sidewalks, too. I don't think those possible. And there was another thought that just popped into my head. Um, as far as connecting the sewer, we may have to go to I think we need to go to Flathead County and have that septic permit approved. They are currently backlogged 6 months. >> And that's what I've been working with with a lady named Jackie to get all of that taken care of. So, and it's just a line. It's just a wait. >> And that's part of why I really would like to have our maintenance person involved with that because they can bulldog that situation of, you know, >> Okay. I'd like to make a

061motion to hire Sanding Construction Company for the concrete work. >> I'll second move and seconded. Any discussion? If not, um, all in favor? >> I all opposed. Motion passes. Okay, we have to we have to approve the declaration of emergency that we already did the day off. So >> So just to be clear, we missed a day of school because it was highly recommended by the county sheriff that we have a goodbye. Thank you for coming that we have um a that all schools close for that day because of the potential windstorm. We had a terrible windstorm in December which uh turned out to be detrimental in some areas. So um so all county all the superintendents in the area we all met and we met with the national weather service we met with um

062the emergency services uh managers and it was that was recommended. So I was glad with that decision and it turned out to be a countywide. And the thing is people will say, "Well, you should have guessed or you should have known." And those are people that know what happened after the event, but before the event, you don't know what's going to happen. So, better to be cautious than >> those are the same people that would have been upset if you'd have said you can't come get your kid because >> That's exactly right. So, better to air on the side of safety. And um yeah, I I honestly didn't hear very many. In fact, I didn't hear any any complaints from our district with things that were on Facebook or other districts were interesting. >> People

063are mean on the internet. >> Yeah, >> it's easy. It's easy to be mean. >> I'll make a motion to approve the declaration of emergency. Make motion to approve the declaration of emergency per policy 2221 and MCA 20-96 two for March 12th, 2026. A second. >> Moved and second. All in favor? >> Opposed? So, do we need to do a makeup day for that? >> We're allowed one. >> Yeah, >> we're allowed one. always >> then we would have to make it up. >> Everybody would have been absent that day. >> If you voted no, then we would have to make it up because it wouldn't be a school closure by declaration of emergency. >> So, depends on how your kids are behaving this week. Would you like them to have >> Can they make

064up a week? No, because we we have contractors coming back. >> We got a roof repair. >> Um, we need to approve the meal agreement with district 5. I will entertain a motion. >> I make a motion to approve the 2026 through 2027 school district 5 meal agreement. I'll >> second. >> Moved and seconded. All in favor? >> I opposed. Motion passes. I'm not giving you guys chance to talk about these because we have to do them. >> Fiscal year 27 Evergreen Platted Crossroads Interlocal Agreement. >> Make a motion to approve the FY27 Evergreen Flathead Crossroads Interlocal Agreement. >> I'll second. >> Moved and second it. All in favor? >> I opposed. passes. Do we have any correspondence? Special discussion meeting a journey.
