agenda here. I just got to get my computer. >> What kind of cold is this? Okay. To the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Wow, I got it. Everything we went over at our facilities meeting. Okay. Thank you. >> Um, >> do you need an agenda? >> I need an agenda cuz my computer is going really slow. >> Please. >> Anybody else need one? >> I'm good. I'm good. Yep. >> All right. Consent agenda. Are there any questions on the consent agenda or comments? If not, I'll take a motion to approve the consent agenda. >> Make a motion to approve the consent agenda. I'll second. >> Moved and seconded. All in favor? >> I >>
opposed. Agenda passed. No public to comment. So, uh, go ahead, Don. >> Don, you hold on. >> Okay. I >> You were muted. Now you can start. Oh, so you can't hear my my keyboard when I'm writing. Uh, so welcome everybody. I'm glad that you're here. Sorry I can't be there this evening. Um, I'd like to thank Kelsey for being there again to record the meeting. So, thanks Kelsey. >> Kelsey is here. >> First, I would like to talk about professional development. So, we had Dorothy Laughlin and Jenny Scalani renew their CPI certification. So CPI is crisis prevention institute which is similar to demand training for um how to uh deescalate the situation when a student is struggling. They said that the training was excellent and they said it was among the best training that
they've had for that particular process. Excuse me. Then I was supposed to attend the high trust workshop with Denny McLaclin in Big Fork and that got rescheduled for March in Lewistown. So, I will be attending that towards the end of March in Lewis Town. So, that was unfortunate, but um that's just the way it is. Uh I'd like to say congratulations to our spelling be participants. So, in first, second, and third place, Nolan Sutton, first place, Sydney High Decker, second place, and Cole Elliot third place. So, congratulations. Nolan will be competing in the state B coming up. So, that's exciting. I don't have an exact date. I'm sorry. Then I would like to recognize our staff member of the month. So, as you know, we recognize staff for different qualities and they are voted on
by their colleagues. So, for being respectful and kind, Mrs. Pritchard and Mr. Sutter for being adaptable and flexible, Mrs. Bole, Miss Martin, and Mr. Sutter for trying new things, Mrs. Scalane and Mr. Sutter for being patient and empathetic. Mrs. Spec and Mr. Sutter for being involved in the school leader. Mrs. Matulovich for being proud of our school and promoting positive school image. Mrs. Marquort for filling their personal ARF which means achievement, respect, fun, and freedom. Mrs. Bole, Mr. Ericson, and Mr. Sutter. And for filling the arf of others, Mrs. Bole, Mr. Mrs. Pitchard, sorry, and Miss Doetto. And then for all of these qualities, trustworthy and approachable, adhering to safety procedures, strong work work ethic, being a team player, helpful and supportive, being a good communicator, demonstrating understanding of child development. Those all go to
Mr. Sutter. So, you can probably deduce that the staff member is Mr. Sutter. So, congratulations to him. And uh I gave him his gift card. uh Friday before I left for for home and we recognized him at school. So um he will be featured in our newsletter and uh have his name on the bulletin board or the reader board. So very exciting for him. So congratulations. Uh in process we had the title one monitoring audit that we had to complete and it is done. We pass the audit completely. We have yearly followth through with different things that being required every year. Um so we're keeping tabs on that but we are finished with that in the past. I am in the process of updating our accreditation requirements. Uh so all the schools that received regular
status last time of which we were one have five things to do and I got three of those done and just had a couple of things to add to the others. So that is almost finished. Um for events, our 100th day of school was last Wednesday and it was fun. and the kids did lots of fun things. And Missoula Children's Theater is coming March 9th through 14th. So, we have auditions on the 9th, which is a no school day, but it's been in the newsletter and posters are going to go up and all of that stuff. So, the kids know it's coming. They're excited. Uh the PTC is helping to pay the cost, right? Donating one uh $1,500 towards the cost of production, which this year is $3,100. And I've applied for a $500 scholarship.
and we have that scholarship the last two years. Uh so that's all of that. And then upcoming I scheduled a calendar committee meeting for Wednesday, March 4th at 3:45. That'll be our first meeting. It'll take about 45 minutes. I would like to have a board member present if one of you can join us. And the the committee is probably a committee of about eight people. It's teachers and parents um pair of professionals all kinds of people are on there. So, we'd like to have a board board person on there. Uh, for Wednesday, March 4th at 3:45, we probably will have one more meeting either the following week or two weeks after to uh come up with a final calendar. So, we had to wait for KPS to finish their calendar before we could do our
calendar. And that just finished about two weeks ago. So, uh March 4th, if anybody would like to do that, if anyone can attend. >> What time? >> Uh 3:45. It should be over by 4:30. But the reason we do it right after school is because a lot of people are already here. It's important work for me. >> You can >> and if if you can't if nobody can attend that meeting, I can make sure that whoever wants to do it that I give you everything that we pass out and that we talk about. You can put me down as tenative Dawn and I'll confirm tomorrow. >> Okay. Jason, >> give me one of his last officials. >> I'll be there for >> No, no school in 2627. >> Oh man, >> I'll be the favorest
trustee. >> Russell's dad's awesome. >> All right, and that is the end of my report. Are there any questions? No, thank you. >> You know, you're welcome. Thank you, >> Don. I do have one question. We got We got the bid for the the floor. Um Lacy sent us a copy of the bid for the floor. Are you planning to do that before spring then or or before summer? >> No, >> usually we do that summer break. Yeah, probably the be between I I don't know if it's going to be I think we're going to do that in August. I think that in August. >> Okay. After >> late July, I believe is what we said. Isn't that right, Joe? Is that what we said? >> After summer school, before the beginning of school, >>
right? >> So, late July, August. Yes. >> Yeah. I was just concerned we were going to have it. We got them so early. I thought, well, are we going to do it and then it's going to get all ruined again right away? >> Yeah. I asked Jade to make sure that they will still honor that bid uh come that time. >> Okay. >> All right, Lacy. >> Um staffing, Don. >> Oh, yeah. I skipped one. I'm sorry. Oh my gosh. I'm sorry. So, staffing. So, we were advertising for a second grade teacher and Miss Hansen has indicated that she would like to move over. she would like a change and she has been a Jed teacher before and of course she was our special ed teacher. Uh so I am planning on moving her over
and advertising for a special education teacher. >> Oh, I don't know if we can do that. >> As much as we would like to keep her, um I I'm honoring her request for for moving over. She's done a phenomenal job and she'll do an amazing job as a second grade teacher. Okay. Well, hopefully we can find a special ed teacher. >> I hope so. >> Okay. Um, >> thank you. Thanks, Lacy. I'm sorry I skipped that. >> No, you're fine. I just I knew that you wanted to talk about that, so I didn't want you to miss it. >> Yes. Yes. Thank you. >> You're welcome. Um, I don't have anything other than the reports that I attached. So, I don't have anything that I need to talk about unless you guys have any questions.
>> Felt like it was pretty straightforward this month. >> Oh my goodness. >> We're going to be paying our second grade teacher a masters. I just noticed that part. >> Well, she would get the same amount if she stayed teacher. Yeah, >> I know that. But >> but congrat almost all good. But if we find good special ed teachers are going to have that kind of education, too. >> All right. Uh Joe, you want to talk about the facility stuff? >> Um I don't know that we have much of a facilities report. Most of it's in the agenda later. >> Yeah, I was just going to say that we kind of leave this on here as a placeholder, but if you want to just >> Jay's not here, >> we can jump it. >> We
can wait till action if you want to. It's fine. and and really Chrissy's move is just uhformational. >> So, okay, let's just go to action agenda. Um, >> right. >> Mhm. Go ahead. And >> I'll make a motion to hire Jay Matthews as FY26 head cross country coach, grades K through four, and approve the contract. >> I'll second. >> Moved and seconded. All in favor? I >> opposed. Motion passes. >> Next. >> I'll make a motion to hire M. Martin as FY26 head cross country coach, grades 5 through 8, and approve the contract. >> I'll second. >> Moved and seconded. All in favor? >> I opposed. Motion passes. Somebody else try this. I'll make a motion to approve M. Matulovich fiscal year 26 extra duty stipen contract for yearbook. >> I'll second. >> Moved and
seconded. All in favor? >> I'll make a motion to approve C. Hansen fiscal year 26 extra duty stipen contract for yearbook. >> I'll second. Moved and seconded. All in favor? I >> opposed. Motion passes. Okay. Policy updates. Who's the person that was lucky in not to be on the policy committee? >> Joe got this. I got the intro to policy committee. >> Um I was just trying to open >> Jason. You know, Jason was there. >> I was. >> But uh Joe apparently gets the duty of >> All right. Um, I'll make a motion to approve the amended policy updates. >> I'll second. >> Okay. These are first readings or >> uh we only have to read them once now. >> Okay, that's good. >> Yeah, saves a lot of time. >> Are there any
highlighted ones that we need to Are they just kind of basic? >> I don't think there's anything we need to talk about as a board. What about you two that were there? So, um, these were >> No, I think they're all pretty standard. >> Okay. >> Sorry, Don. I forget that you're there. I'm so sorry. >> To be fair, she's turned away from me. So, >> there we go. She doesn't have my >> We get a second on that. >> I get a second. >> Okay. Moved and seconded. All in favor of all of the policy amendments I >> I. >> All opposed. Motion passes. Okay. 300. >> Well, you guys flew down to the meeting. >> Get we had to get to this part. Good >> job. >> Okay, Joe, you're up now for
sure. >> Um yeah, 300 building we can discuss first. Um, you know, the facilities committee in general agreed that we don't want to stick a $45,000 band-aid on the roof of this when it doesn't fix the underlying structural problems. So, at this time, I'll make a motion to for the district to seek bids for demolition of the 300 building. >> Do we have any kind of idea like what that will cost? I mean, for >> That's why we want to seek the bids. Is that what we got to see? Okay. that we can see. I mean, >> it doesn't tie us to anything, correct? If we I mean, if somebody comes back with $60,000 bid, then a then a $40,000 band-aid might be worth it. If it's and and I and I still think um
we should continue to um look into whether that is a a historic if we I don't know if we can count it historical. I know that the old building is historical, but I don't know since it's been added on to if the historical society will will include it. If we could get it historical, there would be some probably help. So, okay, let me ask this. Is there any way we can get help if we get a bid to demolition it for like a grant of some kind? Is there anything out there that helps schools demolition a building? >> Probably not. Can I pause? You have a motion, but nobody seconded. So, you need a second before we do the discussion. >> Oh, I'll second it. >> Thank you. >> Sorry. >> You're fine. >> Thank
you for the reminder. But I mean, I just didn't know if there's any programs out there that would >> You'd be more likely to find programs to help you fix things than you would to find, >> okay, >> money to for demolition. The only advantage you might get in demolition is if you can get somebody who wants >> to salvage cuz the beams in that alone would be worth thousands of dollars. >> Exactly. Okay. >> I I need to make sure that everyone knows that um one of the companies and I don't know which one it was that I I don't think it was Advanced. I think was the other company, but they did core sampling of the roof and they found asbestos in the roof the 300 building. So that's something that we just
need to be aware of whatever demo cost there would be that we'd also have to do more asbestos removal in >> right and that is is if we tear into the roof if we just add roof they just patch it >> right >> well they don't >> right now this proposal is not a patch this is remove the existing roof because it's been patched so many times it's it's not a good substrate they're talking about removing that and replacing it with a brand new one. So doing that alone might expose the asbestous, >> right? Yes. >> I mean, depending on where it's at in that core, which they should be able to answer that, but >> but what Joe was saying was that the beams underneath of the roofing structure are not structurally sound. Like
when we get snow load, weight load in there, the beams start to flex and bow. So taking >> those beams, the cross, not the big beam, >> the big ones in there. It's for a hundred-y old building, they were a little bit undersized in the first place and they've just aged out over time and >> for a flat roof building, it's just not a good situation. >> That's why he's calling it a band-aid because it's not about like that we couldn't save the roof or help the roof. It's that if we put this roof on, tear the old roof off, put the new roof off on, you still have the structural problem underneath. So the only way to really if we were going to re- roof it would be to put a whole new structure
up on top of it. Put put trusses on top of it then. >> Yes. >> So that it was a slope roof. >> So with the asbestous in the roof of course we're going to have to pay for that. Correct. >> Depends. >> Did you have did you remove it? If you demolition the the building, >> somebody has to pay for it. >> Yeah. >> Well, yeah. I mean, okay. >> It's going to be included. >> Yeah. Anybody that just with the age of the building, most anybody that's going to bid that demolition is going to price in some asbestous. Okay. >> Because >> everything back then was had asbestous in it. >> Okay. So my question is is why was that not remediated with McKinstry several years ago during the initial >> because they
had to drill for the core samples of the asbestous and so that would reduce the integrity of the roof. Okay. >> So they only removed like on the inside of the building but they didn't dig through the outside of the roof. And at the time when we had that done, we were told that there's a high possibility that when we go to actually tear off the roof itself and dig in that there was asbestous. >> I don't know if some of you guys remember that from that conversation, but we were told at the time that they there's no way that they know that all the asbestous was out of the 300 building at that time. That when we actually went to tear off and replace the roof, there was a very high probability that we
would find it again. >> Okay. There's probably more asbestous in this between the two buildings over there than we ever want to imagine. I'm sure there's asbestous in the home build in the the gym building too. >> There is. We know that from the gym floor the floor. >> That's why we can't ever >> tear it out. >> Tear the floor up. If we redo it, we have to do it over top of it. Well, I I mean, it doesn't cost us anything except the ad to at least find out what people want. It kind of we we need that for direction if nothing else. >> And I don't know that we have to advertise for it unless we're positive that it's going to go over $80,000. M >> we could just reach out to
contractors first and see if we can get say three bids >> for demoing the building and if it stays under that mark we don't have to advertise and put in the paper. >> So Bob, you were saying those beams are worth money. >> I think so. >> Is there anything those are I mean they're >> I mean is there anything in there that would be entertaining beams? They should be >> to a contractor to keep that >> It depends on who's doing it. I mean, I could call Doug Sadirius. He'd come and look at it for a demo, >> but he's not going to take time to >> save anything. He's going to go in just demo it. >> He's just going to go in there with the big excavator and knock it all down.
But I can certainly call him and ask if they can at least come look at it and give us an idea >> what it would >> I mean I think that'd be a good start because then we'd know >> if we need to put on >> and through that bid process we should find out what the district's responsibilities are as far as removing electrical or gas lines and things like that prior to demolition >> so we can get on that as well. >> Yes. >> Yeah. I'll uh I'll make a note of that. I'll try and call Cody and Corey or or Doug and see if they can come look at it. I don't know if they'd have time to do it, but they could at least let me know price. >> I have a
feeling based on the last removal of asbestous that they did from the building, I have a feeling it's going to be more than $80,000 because you're going to have to mitigate that asbestous removal with the tenting and all of that stuff. >> Yeah. I don't know how that works because it's going to be wide open outside. They're not there's no way to take it out a little bit at a time. It's going to be part of the demolition. >> And it may be one of those deals where they just say, "Okay, let's just drop it in the ground and cover it up." >> I mean, we got a hole to fill in. So, they possibly could. It's up to me. We imploded. >> Well, I suggest in calling the fire department and see if they
do a controlled burn, but I think it's probably too close to the gym. >> We can still ask. >> We will ask. >> And then anybody that complains, they caught on fire. >> The fire department just happened to be here. I >> They're right there. So, so all right. So, we have a motion and a second um to uh let's say um research the what it would take to demolition the building. So, um, all in favor? >> I anybody opposed? I want to be, but I know it doesn't. Okay. Gymnasium. >> Okay. >> I'm assuming that that bid the the end of that bid was for both buildings on bricks. $145,000. Yeah, that should have been two buildings, >> right? >> I don't have the >> down. If you look at the top part, the
top part of it, and then it'll say it says gym on the top and then at the bottom it's the other building. >> So, they're both about the same cost, I believe. >> The bricks one. >> Oh, no. I'm thinking of the advanced >> advanced similar price. I don't understand one advanced has two separate >> there is there's a um >> advanced >> I've got a guy that wants to bid the siding but it's he's also a roofing company so we can have him look at the roof on that building um partisan >> do you know Joe this or does Don do you know the is the bricks I didn't see the >> What's the bricks one on? Like what's it? What are they bidding? >> It's like they're they're resurfing resurfacing the they're doing
that spray on stuff. >> But this is just for the gym. >> Uh so yes. >> See that was >> $142,000 documents >> for the gym? >> No. No. Um so that would be I'm just opening up the documents here. >> Yeah. See, that's why I had And there's a lot of pages in this one from >> 71 pages. >> Well, not the their estimate isn't. It's just like this. >> You guys are looking at their the pictures. The estimate is a separate document. >> Rough draft proposal. >> Oh, >> that's the one you want to look at, but that's the one that I don't understand what it's for. >> Who applied roofing portions of fast and replace screws is needed. That is going to be the gymnasium. >> So, this bid is just for
the gym. Because Advance Roofing's bid for just the gym was like 40kish pro coat >> 47 47. >> So what I see here >> No, see this is this is combined because >> because this has a tear off existing membrane. >> Um >> so is this both or >> Yeah, I think it's both. And I I'm I'm having trouble figuring out where it splits at. I don't know because >> because there's no screws to replace on the 300 building. So these first pages where it says fasten and replace screws is needed. >> Yeah, that's >> time and material approximately $950. That's got to be on the 200 building for sure. >> So they have both buildings >> where in the middle of the page it says EPDM roof portion where it says $0. I believe
that is that is the end of the gym estimate. So uh step five the pro code finished application that's the last part of >> so we have to add it up ourselves. >> Right. That's what it looks like. >> We're not that good. What do we just want the top numbers on? Is that what you guys are looking for? Just the gym numbers. >> 88. >> It's like about 25,000. >> 3196. >> 36. >> Okay. >> And that's for the >> 31906. If that if we're reading it correctly >> and that top portion is in fact the gym >> then that would be >> this is not the one we discussed at the facilities meeting. >> We didn't have this. >> Yeah. This is a sprayon >> coat >> over the they they would fix
the screws that are there surface prepped fix rust if needed. do a base application and then >> it's all spray on coats. Um, I don't see anything in here indicating what the warranty is or the expected lifetime. >> 72 was PDF. >> I mean, I would say $31,000 if the roof stops leaking is okay if it's going to last a long time. >> Mhm. So >> yeah, cuz advanced covered all the warranty and bricks does Am I missing it or do they >> So the advanced quote was 47,800. >> That's for the gym. >> For the gym. Yes. >> And that also included the advanced quote included adding like a half inch some kind of a half inch board across the entire gym. >> Yeah. So they were going to put poly iso foam, an
adhesive layer, and then a roof membrane. >> Oh, so they were putting a whole new >> a whole new roof. Just leave the existing roof there and build up on top of it was their proposal. >> Uh with a 50 mil duro roof tub system at here. Um, I had some concerns over whether or not that ice um poly iso insulation would be durable, but as long as people aren't readily walking up there, then it should last a very long time. >> There shouldn't be walking up there. Somebody needs to >> Well, for maintenance. >> Mhm. >> There shouldn't be that should be the lowest maintenance there is. >> Sure. >> Um, that's the only problem with a steel roof is over time you've got to go up there and rescrew everything. and tighten screws
down. Sometimes replace screws that have broken. >> There is potentially another option as well. Um the roof is too slope for a con too too flat of a slope for a conventional conventional exposed fastener panel, which is what's up there now. But if we could go with a hidden fastener panel, um they come like 12 or 16 in wide. All the screws are put in and then the next piece comes on over the top, hides all of those screws. They're mechanically fastened. It makes a very good roof. A lot of residential houses would have those. >> Um, and it takes the low slope problem away because there's no screws that need to be sealed. >> You'd never have to go back up and tighten down screws either. Um, you have to have at least a
half inch per 12 in slope. And I don't know what the gym is. It's going to be pretty close. >> Are we Are you guys thinking maybe we need additional information on the bricks bid? Do we want additional? >> I want to know what kind of warranty I want on that brick bed. >> I mean, just keep it simple for just the gym because If the warranty isn't as good as Advanced, Advanced is gaining us probably our heat of insulation with that foam. Um, something like that. Something in that. >> I don't know if it's actually effective insulation because you still have venting underneath. In the summertime, it's going to help keep your direct sunlight out of there and going to keep the gym cooler. In the winter time, I don't know that it's going
to do much for us as far as a heating goes, but >> So, what's the advantage of having that foam on there? >> It creates a flat surface for them to put that roof membrane down, which is what they need. >> And it'll never rot cuz it's not wood. Neither's deciding on this. >> Um, >> so we need additional information on the bricks bid particularly what the warranty would be. >> I think so >> on that I think so warranty expected lifetime >> and then >> yeah and lifetime expectation um if it's if it's somewhere you know >> in that 15 to 20. Do you have a contact on that that you want to shoot an email to and ask them? Could you also ask them to send two separate quotes for the two separate
buildings? >> I will do it. >> Um, two separate quotes and the warranty on each of those quotes. >> There is an email address on this quote. >> Okay. And then if you want to copy me too and tell them to reply all that way I can follow up on it if >> um that'd be awesome. >> You got it. >> Okay. So make a motion to table that. >> You don't even have to. >> Yeah. >> I'll just table it. Um what do you got on the Do we have some ideas on that building? I didn't get that far. >> Okay. >> um yeah, so the the 100 building took a while, but I did get a hold of the company. We got um construction plans back from 2005. >> Mhm. >> Um as
far as I can tell, they built to what these plans said without deviation. Um, I think what happened is the sidewalks were poured after the gym was in place and they went right up to the bottom of the siding and the installation manual for that siding says you need to be 6 in above ground or 2 in above hard surfaces like a sidewalk and they went to zero. So that voided our warranty on the Hardy board sighting. >> Mhm. party panels I can say. Um so after going through that and you know going around and looking at the building again u and then we discussed it in the facilities committee um you know our recommendation at this time would be to replace the siding approximately 3 ft from ground level in the spots where it's
bad which would be the short end short wall down by the office the short wall on the highway side as well as the double doors going onto the playground. ground about 8 10 ft on either side there where where the the sidewalk is. Um ju just replace there because the rest of the siding is still a 50-year warrant or 30-year warranty product that's in acceptable condition. So why spend the money to replace it when we don't need to? Um, which was Yeah, that's kind of what I was have been. Yep. I'd rather see us go repeat um all the way around before we all redid the whole thing, which I think we could make really cool if we did that. >> Um, go with a totally different style around the building. >> But, uh, >>
above, you're saying go all the way around the building, 3 ft up or >> 3 ft. 3 ft will keep you underneath the >> furnaces >> and the patri. >> Well, we're recommending this time is to just >> just do what we have to do. >> Just do what we have to and make it look aesthetic, right? So, if you go if there's a you're not just going to do a spot, >> you're going to do a 3ft. If it's on either side of the door, you're going to make it even on both sides and the facilities can >> So, is most of the problem is all on that west side on that side. Yep. On that side as well. Or do we think maybe we should do all of the west side? >> Yes.
Yes. Cuz it's small. It's the short side. >> Yes. It's a 60 or 70 foot wall. Do that whole wall as well as the highway side. Do the whole thing. >> So match the two small and >> and into the cove by the door. I mean >> Yeah. >> Like >> And then we talking about only 3 ft, right? >> Yes. Yes. Only the three >> to stay under the windows. >> Right. Right. And then we talked about the spots that are bad out by the double doors to just do a certain space there, not do super far like kind of as far as needed there. >> And then we talked about collecting or doing some research on collecting bids on which um item to use to replace those those three feet. Whether we do
metal or whether we do a different Hardy panel board or brick was also thrown on the table as a potential option. >> A brick or or a faux a faux rock. Yeah. >> Yeah. Rock is a good idea. Something like that, but talking to a siding company about >> So, let me do this. So, I I'm not a fan of doing actual brick because I realize that we don't have the foundation there to support that. We don't have a brick ledge. We would have to um >> we'd have to pour concrete to do that. >> And f faux brick is an option, but it's going to be more expensive than steel. I can tell you that right now. >> Right. You could do the the faux rock panels that stick on the >> would be
the the but yeah, steel. And if you're going to do steel and you want to make it look really cool, you find some old rusted steel would look really cool down there. No, >> you said don't cover. It's 30-year warranty. >> Let me let me do this. So, let me call Austin at it at Artisan Roofing because he's willing to do sighting, too. >> Okay. >> And tell him that's what we want to do. >> Come out and I'm going to have him contact you. >> Sure. >> Um and cuz he can do the if if they wanted to they could do the roof. Let us know what what they would do. But they could also do that sighting because they're starting a sighting and it'd be nice to have somebody just come in and
do all of it this summer. >> Oh, yeah, for sure. Yeah, absolutely. >> Sorry, Josh. What was your question? For sure. >> No, I was just thinking that they covered the 30 years, you said, right? >> The siding has a 30-year warranty from the manufacturer >> if it's installed per their >> um >> specifications. Okay. which it was until they did the concrete. >> Yes. >> We screwed it up. Yep. >> So, hypothetically, you couldn't get them to replace top just down to 3 ft, right? >> No, they wouldn't do it that way. >> They're going to look at that and say the whole as far as they're concerned, >> the whole thing >> that end of the building is >> Yeah. I know cuz I was just thinking out loud if they could replace
just to 3 ft >> and then we but they're going to look at at that and say that 3 ft there's nothing wrong with it >> or that above >> 3 ft wrong with it. They're not going to shot ourselves in the foot >> right when they >> if we could have just said hey we need our sighting replaced >> cuz they would have came out and just replaced it cuz we could say it's wearing out. >> No, they wouldn't have they looked at would have looked at it. They looked at that and said, "Um, yeah, your problem is your problem." >> Okay. >> So, no, it wasn't it wasn't us problem. And >> yeah, that's a bummer when they uh especially if you got four years left on that. I mean, that was close.
>> But we will keep a really good eye on the rest of the siding for the next part, four or five years. >> Absolutely. >> Is that four years? >> Four cuz that was 200, right? Or 2001. So, the architectural plan said it was a 50-year product, but they specifically listed Hardy Panel in there, and Hardy Panel says it's a 30-year product. >> Okay. >> Maybe it was a 50-year product 20 years ago. I don't know. >> Um, well, and it could be that >> Yeah, it's it could be that the manufacturer has to stand behind that extra 20 years, and a lot of places do. I mean like RDO when we do we st we we double John Deere's warranty on parts when we put a new part in >> a John Deere part
we double John Deere's warranty >> for like like if you put a starter in >> John Deere has a one-year warranty you've actually got a 2-year warranty because RDO says we're >> so that's possible but if I had to guess they're going to avoid the whole thing. They're not going to avoid pieces and parts of it. They're going to say, "You installed your sidewalks incorrectly, so >> your warranties." >> Who you remember who did that, Bob? >> Who did that? Concrete. >> Not a clue. >> I wasn't here. >> We've already had to have it redone since then. So, it's already been >> So, I mean, realistically, that guy obviously didn't know what he was doing, >> right? I mean, taking it right to the building. >> He wasn't deciding guy, so he didn't know.
>> Yeah. >> Well, yeah. I mean, give them benefit of the doubt, but >> because I mean, it's common sense. water's going to run off, you know, whatever you however you look at it. But >> I mean I I don't see a way around it that the district >> isn't stuck with the >> Yeah, I think Markeel did most of the work when they brought the building in >> and uh but I don't think that uh and and if we just replace that bottom part like that in the end if we had ever did do a claim they wouldn't even know as far as they know we did it for aesthetically right now. >> Okay. So, we're going to table that one, too. >> Well, we're going to seek bids. >> Seek bids. >> Yeah.
Um, >> everybody's in agreement that >> if anybody else if anybody else knows somebody that wants to >> throw a bid out on that on the siding, but I'm I'm going to have Austin did both. So, >> we downsized the project significantly. So, uh we don't need to go out to bid anymore. Now, we can just >> we don't have to go out to bid, right? If we if we decide to choose somebody, that's that's our decision. So, like I said, if if if Artisan could come up with a a roofing bit that was competent and wanted to do the sighting, too, I think anybody that would do the do one and if they wanted to do the other, we would be well certain to do it that way. Just to have one contractor come
in for a week or two and give Okay. So, swing sets. >> Swing sets. >> You want to talk about >> buy swing sets? >> Yes, I do. So, um I have noticed this has been going on for quite a while. Um, but when you get too many um more mature kids on the swing set at a time, then there's a tendency for that top bar to bow. So, uh, we to make sure, you know, that we monitor the swing set closely. Uh, the swing set we have right now, we've had that for for at least 15 years. We've had that. And my proposal is that we get an additional set of swings. We're not take not getting rid of those swings that we currently have, but but the ones that I looked at that
I found that are like sturdier and hold more weight per swing are the ones that are um manufactured by Dakota Playground. They have that arch shape. And that would be my recommendation to add a set of four swings for students like in fifth through 8th grade. And all kids could use both swing sets, but um students maybe who are a certain height or something, they'd have to move to the newer swing set. >> We don't really want to say weights, but we can certainly say heights. >> Well, well, and part of it >> those those swings are made to flex. But >> I'm afraid they're going to snap is my fear because they bow quite a bit. When you get if you if you get six middle school kids on there, they they bend a
lot. >> I just have a hard time spending $8,000 on swing right now. But >> so we we have had we've had had re money last year that we ended up reassigning to um to salaries and for this money we also had re money come in. So that's a grant that we get. So we do have that money that has ended up being reserved um that we could we could use that money Don, would that cover the cost entirely or we still have to come up with >> um I I think we probably probably from this year I think we need to come up with like $3,000 I would say and we we do have that money. We have that we have that money available. Um, one thing about the Dakota Springs is the gentleman
I spoke with was he was adamant that we absolutely could install them ourselves and if we decide to go with their product, just call him and he'll tell us exactly what to do for the other inst for the install. The play space design lady gave us a quote for like $3,700 for the install and was leaning definitely towards their company installing them um or a representative of somebody that they work with. So it wasn't so she wasn't so excited to try and direct us into a self-install. But Dakota playground they said there's absolutely you can do it for sure. The other thing I like about the Dakota playground set is they take up a lot less physical space because of that arch design. >> So you said we had there were 7,500 Don and then
we had most of the money we'd have to come up with about 3,000. Yeah, about $2,500. So, yes, >> our award this year in Greek is 5218. >> I think it'd be nice to see a little bit of a playground refresh out here. So, for less than $3,000, we can get that. And I know the swings are very popular. So, >> they are very popular. Absolutely. And then the other thing that that helps us do too is it kind of helps us separate the middle schoolers from the younger children as far as having play space. Uh so for example before school in the morning when they're using the swings, that's a good idea to keep those kids separated. When I was in Missoula last week getting at my preop appointment, I I saw that they
had some of those swings exactly like that just behind the buildings. And I when I looked at them, they are really nice. >> Don, did you get an updated quote on this? >> Yes, that is updated. Yes. >> And it is the same price? >> Uh 75. I think I've gone up about $500 I think from before. >> It's the same. >> Oh, so >> maybe you didn't attach the updated one then cuz the one that >> I see is 7583. This is >> Yeah, but that's just it's from July. So, she got an updated one. I don't >> I did get an updated one. Let me see. So, I might not >> I don't have it on the agenda then or in the packet. >> Okay, let me just have a look here. I'm
sorry. See, >> I have a hard time. This is like the third redo of our playground since I was since we put this building in. We used to have a pirate ship that we had actually built ourselves out here. So, the updated cost, it was a little farther down the email, is $7,936 and includes shipping. >> He says for installation, if we had to have somebody else install, it would be 35 to 40% of that cost, but he says we could easily do it ourselves. So Jay would be busy all summer >> putting that together. >> Mhm. >> I think it'd be a good community project. >> I do too. I think it would be good. >> And that's how we always built the playgrounds before it was community projects. It was >> um >>
Well, I think Don honestly I went looked the playground before the meeting and yeah, I mean we definitely the playground's in rough shape. I mean, I'm not talking the mud and stuff. That's just springtime. But yeah, I mean, with just the the toys that are out there, they are, you know, they're worn and old. So, I mean, I'm for that. I just think we need to also definitely try to come up with a plan with part try to partner with, you know, the community a little bit too, but also, I know we've talked about this in the past, but let's try to raise some money if we can for the playground with PTC, with Springo. take advantage of these programs and then I don't know if you want to, but if we can, I'd love
to see us try to maybe sell those containers and make some money too for the school. >> Well, I think if we're like we're tearing down the building, we absolutely have to keep those containers. >> Well, my question, I guess, would be with those containers. I mean, since I've been here on the board going on 5 years now, is there really that need for all that stuff? >> There is. And when you open the 300 building, there's still a lot of stuff. Yes. Okay, >> Don, could you forward me that email? I I don't have it. >> Yes. I'm sorry, Lacy. Yes, I will. >> Oh, yeah. I mean, you would know. I'm just asking questions cuz I mean, we definitely need to do some upgrades to the playground for sure. >> Yeah. I think
if we if we were considering getting rid of the containers, I think that we need to know what our space is going to look like. I I think it would be premature to get rid of them now and to wait until if we're going to tear down the 300, wait until that's done. >> Are all four of those full? >> Yes, they they've got stuff lot of stuff in them. >> And our sheds are full. >> Uh the one shed right next to the school, we were going to use that in case we were not able to use the 300 building. We were going to work on having that as a part of the uh uh janitorial like janitorial workspace. uh if it was necessary, we're going to get it wired and and all that
kind of stuff to do that. So, one of them doesn't have a lot of stuff in it, but that would be the shed. That's the shed right next to the school. >> Okay. Could we get away with two containers? >> I don't think so. No. >> Wow. >> I would I would say not at this time. >> Yeah. What What What is in there, though? I mean, is it just storage for like >> So, we have we have chairs, we have um tech equipment, we have tables, we have bookcases, um we have some curriculum materials, we have some teacher items that are up there. So, because they don't have storage space in their classroom, so there's quite a bit of teacher stuff up there. Um there's a lot of stuff. If you want to come
by, we can give you a tour. >> Uh you don't want me to take a tour? >> Well, no. I'm just Yeah, I'm just trying to make >> That's what's up there. >> Yeah. No, I mean I I might, but >> Chuck. >> Yeah. Well, no. I'm just trying to think of ways to raise money. So, okay. >> Do you know where you want to put this swing set? >> Yes, I do. So, when you go outside, so I looked at this last year. I had a couple of the pair of professionals work with me on this as far as finding location. There's a bench out there that faces the highway that is so when you go when you go out the playground doors and you go straight, the bench is on your right hand
side. And I would have us take that bench out of there. It's a really dilapidated bench which was a rusty bottom. Take that bench out and put that swing set right there. So the swing set would go north to south. And keeping in mind that the school this it would be perpendicular to the school as far as north and south goes. >> Well, for me 2500 isn't bad. It's not like >> we have to come up with that other. >> We don't have to come up with the other. That's just kind of how I look at it. I mean, that's not a bad chunk of change to come with for a new nice new swing set. And I like the colors, Don. I think it'll pop the playground, too. You know, we can actually paint.
>> Well, yeah. I saw just get some >> our colors. >> Well, yeah. I think it'd be cool. You know, >> I think we should. And then I think we should paint that. >> Yeah. >> Swings out there. >> I think all the swings up. >> Mhm. >> I think this should be our community summer community project is installing the swings and sprucing playground. >> Mhm. What's the new number so that I can get it in here? >> 79 was it? Don >> 7983 I believe. >> Don, what was that number exactly? You muted yourself again. >> $7,936. The bird is having a hating. >> Reason I muted I was hoping that was a bird, not a dog. >> We're going to have to do $3,000 after the real money. >> Yeah, which isn't bad.
>> No, I'll entertain a motion. I'll make a motion to approve the Dakota swing set uh bid of $7,936. >> I'll second that. >> Sorry, I got moved and seconded. Is there any further discussion? >> Cool colors. That's all I ask. >> Make it cool. >> Okay. >> All right. Thank you. >> Yep. You bet, Don. All all I have to is moved and seconded. All in favor? >> I >> opposed. I mean, you guys skipped over the second before. Now I'm just going to skip Oh, like >> Okay, so everybody knows they're going to build build another subdivision up on North Hill Road. I for one oppose that. >> Too bad it's under course. >> Yeah. >> Um is that across from? >> Yeah. I'm going to really ramp up the Christmas lights. >>
Dude, have you seen what I look at every day? >> No. >> Ashley Hills Estates is right below me. >> Oh, okay. >> Oh, nice. >> Yeah. I'm going to crank up the 1000 watt. >> Just call you spotlight >> in that direction. >> You want the whole hillside? You want a You want a sign that says future home of uh somebody's pig farm? >> That's my idea. >> Or a pre-release center. Could you make >> Yeah. >> do something really cool there? >> I don't think his wife would like that. >> Well, I hope with the hotel somebody moves in with a lot of money and they >> You want to move the March board meeting to the 24th? >> I do cuz I'm going on vacation. >> Isn't that spring break? >> 24th
is during spring break. Nice. >> So, I'm asking because uh like just cuz it's during spring break, Don and I work during spring break. We don't have spring break off. We work year round. So, unless any of you are gone during that week, which you might be, that's why we're asking. >> I won't me. >> Exactly. >> I'll be gone, but I might be able to join next window. >> Yeah. >> Cuz that's still >> Let's do this. Let's say tenatively we're going to have our board meeting on the 24th and if we can't come up with a quorum then I'll figure out something different. >> Can we do 10th or move it up or no? >> We there we won't have enough stat numbers. >> I won't I won't I don't get the stuff
from the county until right about the 10th. >> About the 10th. >> So there's no way for me to get those done. >> Okay. which isn't the end of the world, but it's also like we process >> March is starting to become we're starting to get close to starting to think about numbers and what is too. So, >> we need to be as late as we can without being too late. >> Yes, I would agree with that. And the other option is the 31st, which in my opinion is too late. That's why I'd like to try to do it the 24th if people are around. >> It'd be really tough for me to join. >> Let's tatively call it the 24th. And if you can't find a quorum, it's all about lazy. >> All right.
How about if I send it out and then we'll you guys do. >> You're just going to send it out. >> She's going to send it out. >> Here you go. Figure out. >> Here's the new date. >> Mom gets to call it anyway. >> Bob said I could and he's the boss. So, and you guys put him in that role. So, you're bad. >> I don't know about anybody else, but I don't usually end up going doing anything during spring break. So, >> even when my kids were in school, >> I think I'll be here, but >> it's too far away to know yet. >> Yeah, >> it's too far away. >> All right. If there is no further discussion. >> Hey, Don. >> Yes. >> That one you sent me still is missing
the the right piece of the email. It's you asking for it, but it's not his response. >> I'll send it again. >> I think it's just the stacked emails. You're grabbing the wrong one. I I clicked right on that particular one and I >> We got a board meeting in March the 24th. >> Sounds good. Thank you. >> See how fast Lazy wants to send that out. >> Oh, hey, Don by the way. >> I love it. >> All right. Is there any further discussion? If not, Don, good luck tomorrow. >> Thank you. >> Yeah, I'm driving to Missou as soon as this meeting's over. So, I'll >> drive safe. >> Thank you. Okay, meeting everyone. >> All right, see you. >> Hi. >> Anything else I got to sign, Lacy? >> Mhm. Yes, >>
of course. You know, Lacy, if you weren't so good
