That's good. >> I did. I got I got food. Oh. Yeah, thank you. That was just waiting to warm up the first floor. >> Are we good? >> Yeah, you're good. Sorry. >> All right, it's 5:00. We'll call this meeting to order. We'll begin with the Pledge of Allegiance. >> I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> All right, we'll begin with the consent agenda. Um do I have a motion to approve the May 4th, 2026 board meeting minutes? >> So moved. >> Second. Any discussion? All those in favor, aye. Opposed, abstain. Motion carries 3-0. Number three, we go to business reports. >> Oh my god, it's me already. Well, you

may have gotten my business report about 30 minutes ago. You may or may not have. Um I had some significant changes that to put in it today, so that's what I was working on. I did bring copies. Did you Anybody want a physical copy cuz I did bring some. >> Uh yeah, mine's here. >> Okay. All right. Um so the the main thing I wanted to highlight was the fund balance. Um since I did this last month, um there was over $240,000 put on the system um for encumbrances or they've already been expended. I did break it down by function code to show you guys um what departments put those on. We had um the 4,600 I put at the bottom for the 354. That was the year-end approved expenditures that we did at the

last meeting. All this being said, um we um If every If we just let everything go through as it is right now, we reduce taxes with about 37, $40,000. We have a couple options. Um one option would be to withdraw roughly 100,000 from special education capital reserve um because um special ed is about 200,000 over budget as of today. Um as you can see on that list, that was one of the items that added some money on in the past couple weeks. Um that would basically I would say balance the budget, so that means our revenues and our expenses would match. Um if we don't do that, then it will reflect about 98, 100,000 into our retention, our 5% retention funds that we have from last year. Which we would have to have a conversation

about that because we need We don't have to have a hearing, but we need to have public conversation on that because basically it's saying we went over budget by 100,000 compared to what we brought in for revenue. Um I want to Nothing we have to decide on tonight. We can even vote in July um once we know what all the final numbers are, but I just want the board full transparency where we're at as of today. I did have my department work on going through all POs. If there were POs that were over 90 days old. Um and there's been no ordering, no anything. We closed them. We just closed them. Um we did find several that were months old. So, we did work on that today. So, we kind of came back around on

this this afternoon and that's why I redid my report, resent it out so that the board is aware of numbers as of right now, where we're at. I'm not unless we have an emergency, there is not going to be any approved expenses um going forward to June 30th. And I did have um special ed reassess all their open POs. We've had a lot of changes, replacements, and services. Been a lot of uh moving pieces um with several students in the past month. So, some of that was just settling in the last couple weeks. Um we actually have a couple other outstanding things, but we don't anticipate anything significant coming from now from now to June 30th. Obviously, the end of school is coming, right? So, kids won't be changing from now to June. This um

is one of the downfalls to starting to estimate um in March and April because there's a lot of things happening in the buildings that I may not be aware of when it comes to uh facilities. I'm pretty involved in that and I know that um but sometimes things happen in special ed that I'm just not I I'm not I'm not part of that. You know what I mean? Until after decisions are made. You know, I'm not part of the team. So, it's you know what I'm saying? I am part of the team, but not the team. So, um sometimes you know, there's so many moving pieces right now. It's so bizarre. It It is. Yeah. So, I think Kelly tried to go on the heavy side to cover us. Be like, "You know what? We

got to make sure we reserve this money." But, since I've been here, we've never been over budget that much. So, that's why I know we're going to put 50,000. We had approved to put 50,000 in at the end of the year. That will be determined before we do our 5% retention. You know, so if it gets to the point that we didn't have enough for that, then we reduce the retention the 5% retention amount to make sure the 175 is available to go into the capital reserve funds. So, that will be a priority. And then, what's left will be retention. Whatever you guys vote on. Remember, it's up to 5%. So, we don't have to do the whole 5%. That will be up to you. And that's where you'll weigh the Are we trying to

just balance the budget? Are we worried about returning funds to reduce the tax rate? Or are we just trying to balance that and have an emergency fund in retention? So, we can talk about it more next month. You know, I'll do this over and over and over over the next two meetings. But, truly, we can approve capital reserve fund withdrawal. We won't like I told you, we won't approve our 5% retention until I know that the year end is done and complete, right? Cuz sometimes there may be adjustments during that process. But, I just want full transparency that you guys know where we're at because it has significantly changed since I talked to it the prior month. So, >> Using capital reserve funds would they do Would those qualify for what the balance of our

over in special It's not like we're going to be using up funds that we shouldn't be using capital reserve >> And that's what we we look at is we look at all the special ed department lines and it's over 188,000 over budget right now. >> Is there restrictions on what you can use the capital reserve funds for? >> No. >> So, it's not like in regular capital funds that have to go towards something that would depreciate over time? >> Yeah, no. >> It can be used for overspending >> Yes. >> on special funding for the district or whatever it might >> Right. Unanticipated expenditures, you know. Which we would hope that all that would be unanticipated, right? Like So, and I did attach the current budget report as of today. So, if you wanted to

scroll down through that and look at the specific lines under the 1200, which is your special ed, you can see where they are for services, purchases, tuition, um those type of lines. Just to give you something he can view more detail that I put in my report to give you guys about it. If you have any questions after, give me a call, shoot me an email, however, whatever is easier for you and we can talk through any questions you have further on this. But, we'll be back again on June 1st, I believe is our next Yeah. So, we'll redo this again and see where we're at from there. The only The other actionable item I had was we did realize JC and I were just analyzing um the capital reserve funds and projects and what

have you and we did see that we missed two requests for deploying King um for it's on the request to vote sheet for 26,000, I think. And, um, the safe roof for the monitoring system those two amounts, um, should come from the Lakeway fund. That specific Lakeway fund that I know we had talked about reducing some of those funds. Those will come in as revenue to offset those expenditures, and that has been included in my estimate that we just discussed. >> Thank you, Patty. Do you guys want to vote on those now? Okay. So, do we have a motion to withdraw $24,250 from the Lakeway Capital Reserve Fund to cover expenses in the boy's key load bearing wall in Lakeway Elementary during the '25-'26 school year? >> So moved. >> Second. >> Any discussion? All

those in favor? Aye. Opposed? Abstain? Motion carries 3-0. And, we have a motion to withdraw $63,561 from the Lakeway Capital Reserve Fund to cover the expense of the safe roof systems for the monitoring installation at Lakeway Elementary during the '25-'26 school year? >> So moved. >> Second. >> Any All those in favor? Aye. Opposed? Abstain? Vote carries 3-0. Okay, Patty. >> Moving on to new business, title grant preliminary allocations. >> Okay, this bringing back from last time. Typically, we have had the board board vote to accept uh, the title one, two, and four A grants. Um, we will have more we will have official numbers in the in the not too distant future, but for now I'm just asking the board to accept those three grant amounts that have been allocated. >> So, do we

have a motion to accept the Title I funds in the amount of $526,925.39? >> So, we vote on separate or >> It's on here separate. >> It is, okay. So moved. >> Second. Any discussion? >> Uh the only question I have is how does that compare to like years past? I know that there was grants at the federal level were decreased in many places, but how does this compare to like past years? >> Title I is down about $12,000. Title II was a little bit higher, actually. And Title IV was pretty close the same, I believe, but without looking. >> What was the difference between Title II and Title I? Did they offset each other pretty well or >> Title II is up 11,000 and Title I is >> What's down? >> Yeah. Title I

is down 14,000. >> And they obviously can't be used for the same thing. >> is like $100. >> Okay. You can flex them. >> You can't flex them? >> You can't can't flex out of Title I, but you can flex into everything. >> Okay. So, we can't do that. Really pretty good. >> Okay. >> Thanks. >> Yep. >> Any further discussion? I think a motion has been made and seconded. All those in favor? Aye. Opposed? Abstain? Motion carries 3-0. We have a motion to accept the Title IIA funds in the amount of $72,934.27. >> So moved. >> Second. Any discussion? All those in favor? Aye. Opposed? Abstain? Motion carries 3-0. And finally, do we have a motion to accept the Title IVA funds in the amount of $67,409.26? >> So moved. >> Second. >> Any

discussion? All those in favor? Aye. Opposed? Abstain? motion carries 3-0. >> It looks like B is consolidated application. There's nothing I can click. >> So the consolidated applications, we have title one, we have IDA, we have all the title grants that we just accepted, and we have a part of five. So instead of sending out individual applications this year, they all have to be uploaded in GMS as complete applications. So the title grants application, which is consolidated up here, I'm almost done. I just need to do the budgets to that. Once that's done, it has to come to the board, and you get to see it below along with the CNA, comprehensive needs. We have to post the requirements have changed greatly. We have to post it to our website. Um, and then that has

to be there for a couple weeks, and then we can upload it to the state. Um, and then the remainder The numerator has a tab for public notices and for grants. So I'm assuming we'll just put it there. Um, but you will get to see the entire sheet of the consolidated application this year and the CNA. So it took months to do the CNA. Um, but that's done. So what I'm left with is the budget. As soon as I get that done, and Melanie's working on the title one. Um, and that has to be a part of this consolidated application as well. Perkins consolidated application was submitted today. Um, I worked on that all day, but that has been done. Um, and then IDA, we haven't seen that, and Kelly Nolan does IDA's. >> So

right now everything is on normal schedule, we're not behind on anything. It's just we're on a two-week schedule. >> We haven't gotten IDA. >> No, we not. We have not. >> No. But >> An adult education grant is also due. It's an RFA. It's not a consolidated, but that is I'm left with just going through the final making sure I have all the attachments required for this. And then that will be uploaded and that's um being submitted as 234,000 for next year's budget for adult education. >> Thank you, Rochelle. Move on to C, Teaching and Learning Team Lead TL2 Report. >> So, I attached their um the the TL2s. We we changed it to grade level leaders just because it made more sense to call that. Um they wrote up kind of a summary of

the work that they did as a group. Um and then I just included in there the meeting structure just so that you guys were familiar with what like how it kind of things operate at Lakeway. Um I wasn't sure where we were with TL2s or if we needed to do this or not. So, I had sent it to Steve saying does the board want an update because it was a new program this year. Um I can speak to Lakeway's experience. It was wonderful. It was very inclusive. Um they decided on what professional development would be offered including faculty meetings based on their team meetings. So, it went from team meeting to grade level leaders to the team leaders and that's kind of how the meeting structure worked. Um But throughout the year, they shared facilitation.

They decided what the professional development was going to be based on their teams were looking for. Um they ran every faculty meeting. And um this year something new that they they were willing to try was each grade level presented at a faculty meeting for the first five or 10 minutes, something that they were proud of that they were grateful that we were doing. So, it kind of built that sense of community. One of the biggest things this year was the change with these fifth and sixth grade electives. So, they shared out the first month and kind of shared what they've been doing and they did some really unique stuff like quilting, sign language, Spanish is happening right now. So, the kids got to choose a variety of different activities and so when they presented that

to the staff, the staff was really excited that you could see some people, you know, on their planning period going and checking it out and just, you know, that that whole system of sharing information and sharing what we're doing is just like built that sense of community over all. So, I just included all that so you could see. But, overall I felt like it was a really productive program and a good use of time. >> Thank you. Do you have questions? Thank you. >> I have a You want the Daisy Brown to do the middle of the high school summary? >> Yeah, Stacy is one of them. >> Yeah. Okay, so I kind of took all their notes that I had and summarized tried to summarize everything of what we've done for the year. TL2s

are called BLTs, building leadership team is kind of blended together. You have to use the TL2s for those school but we call them BLTs. So, um we we spent a lot of time with scheduling this year that schedules were big one, bright staff on curriculum was a big one. Lindsey came in and did projects based learning with our teachers and they did big projects there. Um spent a lot of time um doing cross curricula collaborations. They worked together to build strong TLCs and then the TL2s, the middle of the year when they then turned around and created that environment during the block P days this year. So, they ran every block P day working on curriculum in alignment. And then the other big topic was schedule. Looking at the schedule and that is a goal

next year. I can put moving forward, looking forward, which would be revising the school scheduling structures. We hope to use Alma to create utilize that for next year. Um continue with Brian Stack on the competency and grading alignment, which is what we're working on right now. Um student accountability and support systems, vertical curriculum alignment, professional collaboration and instruction improvement, and then our NEASC visit is next year as well. So, that is what their focus will be in the school next year. >> Thank you. Any questions? Moving on to D, Shaw's donation. >> Um so, we went to Oz Green Realty. And thanks to Patty, who submitted late at night an application for us, and our HOSA team was awarded $2,500. And that is helping them pay for their trip to Indianapolis for our meet. We

have 17 students going there for to represent HOSA for nationals. >> It was a nice photo, too. I saw it in the email. >> It looks nice in there. So, that's what that's for. >> Awesome. >> Okay, you're accepted. >> I'd like to make a motion to accept the $2,500 um donation from Shaw's to support the HOSA International Leadership Conference as presented. >> So moved. >> Second. >> Any discussion? All those in favor? I. Vote abstained. Motion carries 3-0. >> And then moving on to anonymous donation. >> Yeah, we have a individual who's put together some funds that will go toward paying off school lunch balances. And the individual who's doing this, coordinating this, has indicated that they're doing this on behalf of in memory of Eddie Moore. Uh so I think that's a very

fitting fitting because I think he was a very well-known person in the community and certainly was was very I I got to know him a little bit when I first came back in 2016. Passionate guy, who was very caring. Uh wonderful individual. So I think it's only fitting and certainly grateful for the gesture by the individual involved. >> Is there a dollar amount we have to approve? >> Yeah, it should be >> You have it Travis, it's dollar amount. I have it. >> Thank you for that. Whoever donated that. Motion to accept an anonymous donation in the amount of $6,979.65 for outstanding student lunch balances. >> Do you want the motion to say in memory of Eddie Moore? >> memory >> That would be documented for >> So moved. >> Second. >> Any discussion? >>

Um real quick, do we have any idea what the outstanding balances currently? >> Um Steve, what did I tell you? It's like 7,200. It was like 7,200 as of last week when Steve and I talked. >> I was going to ask if there was if any of those funds were left over, would they just roll to next year? >> They will not. I will come back to you guys and we got to balance that out. So we got a few payments coming in, so I'll probably come to you guys for a few hundred dollars to transfer from the general fund to balance it. I'm not going to roll anything over. We've It's never been a practice. We've always settled. What we couldn't collect, the general fund covered, and we just started clean slate every single

>> No, I mean if there was there isn't, but if there was donation funds left over, those >> We would roll over. We would roll that over for the next fiscal >> That's what I meant. I'm sorry. >> Sorry. I thought you meant >> You know, I will I will comment that's a significant amount of money, obviously, but in in terms of historically, that's much much lower than we used to run here. Uh you know, and I think that's attributed to a lot of work done uh to not necessarily track people down to pay, although we do that. You know, we certainly have individuals who work with that, but uh a lot of it is just getting people that are qualified for free and reduced lunches to sign up. >> Yeah. >> Making sure they're

aware of that, helping them and you know, Jenny Berry has done a great job on that. Chris Kaplan does a lot of work with that, as does Michelle. >> A lot of work at the front end. >> J >> So, there's not so much work on that >> JSC on the It's the JSC office as well, so Yeah, it's that's uh the the number could be much higher. In the past, it has been. >> We'll move on to F, the 2025-2026 CTE non-trad grant award. >> So, I wrote you you accepted 10,000, I believe, in the last board meeting. I And I wrote that with the state called last week and asked if I would take on another 10,181 dollars, and all I had to do was amend the budget. So, the plan is to

do a health science um summer camp, and that will take place the last week in June to help absorb some of the non-trad money. We have 3% males um the currently are involved in our health care science department. Um so, this money is to help bring visibility to that. So, the summer camp is for middle school and in high school if they would like to. Okay? And then we're going to create a We have it all set to go. Brad is going to do Girls Behind the Glass. And again, the focus is um going to be 6 to 9. Um and those grades have already been approved to use Perkins funds for um to increase that and that's going to be all through the summer on Friday afternoons for our program this year. And so,

we have that all lined and they gave us the money but we have to spend it by September 30th. So, I said, "Yeah, I'll create another summer program and do it." But it's for of the $10,000 you've already. So, they just wrote the letter as $20,181. >> Thank you. Any questions? So, do we have a motion to accept the 2025-2026 CTE non-trad grant award in the amount of $20,000 $20,181 for the improvement of career and technical education non-traditional student support opportunities for the program year 2025-2026 as presented? This is going to cause any difficulty because we've accepted $10,000 this already. So, should it be an additional $20,181? >> Well, they they revised the letter so that it would come into GMS as one amount. >> Okay. But do we have to amend last meeting's vote

then? >> No, I think they're the ones that revised it. So, our motion should match the letter. That You know what I mean? Really should. So, the last motion was the initial 10,000. They've pulled that back. Now they're going to give us 20 something thousand. So, we should just vote the whole amount, the 20,000 is fine. >> Okay. >> So moved. >> Second. >> Any discussion? All those in favor, I. Opposed, abstain. Motion carries 3-0. Unfinished business, residency program. >> We had a our four accepted residents visit Lakeway. Back When was that? About May 6th. A whole week or a couple weeks ago. So, they had a chance to to meet some of the teachers and and uh tour the building, get a get a little bit of sense of that, and then they were

taken over to uh the Rail Trail Apartments and had a chance to look at their their living residency here in the very near future. Um so, tomorrow um um Kelly Nolan and I will be going to uh Crowchild Mountain uh foundation uh spring uh program, and that'll be over at Clemson State University, and that's Crowchild Mountain brings in all of the different schools they work with and organizations they work with in supporting their mission to support students and and other individuals with disabilities. So, that's the other big activity going on that's related to the residency program. >> Thank you. >> Moving on to committee reports. Negotiation has did not meet. Looks like we have no facilities committee reports. >> Facilities committee met Friday May 8th. And we called on our 718 live load monitoring. No

status change in that. Uh at Lakeway, that's due to begin on June 24th and be completed completed by the June 26th, which is not Uh asbestos abatement at the The first floor was completed during the April vacation and now we're Dale is working on scheduling a contract to replace the floor that was removed. Uh, big shout out to the high school student council for organizing the grade school clean up day. Uh, there was 47 students that volunteered to come out, do weeding, mulching, raking tasks, which was a huge help to the episodic staff. So, thank you for all those 47 students that showed up as well as the student council for organizing this. >> Okay. >> Um, facilities five-year plan, uh, we reviewed that. There was no changes to that, I remember. Um, we are

having asbestos testing uh, getting done by a contractor for the boiler room at the academy because we had we had no record of it being done and we know that there was some material that has to be removed. Um, instead of just doing that little bit, um, makes sense to do the whole room that we're there. We now know what we're looking at for any future events. Um, the academy boiler boiler and water heater replacement project, uh, three bids. Um, did you receive three bids? >> Two bids. Thank you. Um, >> I'm sorry. I understand correctly three bids. Sorry, it was the gym that has two bids on the gym. >> Okay. Um, and kind of think we did have some discussion about dual fuel, oil propane. Um, we also after the meeting I brought

up about what was the age of the underground underground tank because we're going this far into it with the boilers and if we overlook the tank that needs work, um, that would be uh, better beside. So, as it turns out the tank passes inspection um, and it's in good shape. So, we don't have to do anything with the underground tank. The high school gym floor replacement project as Daylight just mentioned, we do have uh, we did receive two bids for that and um that is scheduled to start after school ends on June 12th. Um we are looking at security film for ground level windows at Lakeway. Um, just the same thing that was done here. Um and uh, getting pricing on that anyways. We'll see. It's a product made by 3M. Uh, it's pretty pricey.

Um, and also Henry brought up a good point that the hill behind Lakeway has great views into the second floor classrooms. Um and possibly some type of film that would darken it so that they couldn't see in for safety reasons on active type shooter events. Um, so that's also being looked into. Um at this time just to get an idea of uh, pricing and um, what would that pertain. >> Are you looking to fund that through safe funds still? >> We'll we'll try to get a total together so we can write it correctly. Okay. >> Uh, Lakeway playground enclosure uh the uh, we have a lot of spillage from the uh ground cover that we use. It's a rubber um, mulch. >> And finally >> The rubber mulch uh, be because the surrounding borders uh,

have broken down and uh, there's there's wondering and this is one of the things that Primex had pointed out last year when they did their inspection. So, we're actively looking for replacements, something that's hopefully not wooden. Uh although some of the uh materials that are out there are way more expensive than wood. So, uh there's this challenge there. If they'll work with us, that'd be great. Um we uh talked about the study group for the Academy ad hoc committee, and I did work through to get the policy, a draft uh outline of uh the ad hoc um Dale and Henry also sent me uh names of individuals that um for the committee. I got that draft done, uh sent it off to Greg. Um I don't know where he's at on the on the scope

of things on that. Um Currently, he's not here to speak up on his behalf. Uh there was concern that brought up by Matt regarding the impact of of the work we're doing at the Academy and whether that will have any impact on Lakeway going forward, whether there's any uh pursuit going forward for a new school or uh where we stand on that, and we have um no definitive plan at this point because we don't know what the new citizens, how they're the ad hoc committee's going to come out, so it's not we've taken it off the table. Uh we're not pursuing currently. As far as the public works goes, I'm not Did I miss anything? Dale? >> You did very well, thank you. >> You're welcome. Thanks for your great notes. >> It doesn't look

like they have anything from policies. >> You're afraid of nothing from policies. >> Since you don't have a quorum, we'll wait for your superintendent reports, that's okay. Matt should be here momentarily and Drew Greg will be back soon. >> I don't think I missed it. >> And moving on to section 8, superintendent's report. >> Okay, you have a couple of several documents there. You want to look at them. The board had asked that uh that uh asked Mary to speak to this, certainly Mel and Crystal. Uh to each of these, but uh just uh kind of an overview of the work that has been done. Uh some of the goals of the work he's been involved in. Unless you just kind of take a look at it. >> If you had any questions for Crystal.

You've got a plan in front of you. If you have any questions. It's going to be a little bit tricky. >> It got pretty low. >> Yeah. >> It's very low, by the way. >> We're going to laugh. >> Any questions for Crystal? Crystal met uh Stephen and I and Michelle met us week. Uh and we talked about broad strokes next year and covered the big issues that or the critical issues that came in both of our minds and kind of worked off of that. So, things are already kind of moving forward and then each of the governor's going to have priorities next year. >> Welcome. >> Why is everyone so quiet? >> They're thinking. >> They're reading. >> I'm sorry right now. >> They're reading, I think. Do you guys have any questions about

that one? Yes, we're reading. We're reading the transition plan. Right now, we're on Superintendent's Report A. >> Thank you. >> Let me know when you're ready to go to B. Any questions for Crystal while we got her? All right, let's move it on. So, the LAS Harkless Transition Plan B. I did have a question. Crystal, did the unit ventilator in your office ever get replaced? So, I made >> I didn't will my screwdriver to melt. >> Well, I made the motion to facilities that we should replace it this summer. >> That's fitting. Now, they really make them go. I have the screwdriver. That's a no. One year old. >> I was pretty sure we hadn't done it yet. >> So, we're going to put a plaque on the old one. >> And the space heaters.

Yeah, I thought that was fitting. Farewell. Replace it finally. Crystal gets to keep the screwdriver. >> I'm going to replace the data back. >> Could mount the Could mount the your new office. >> but >> I already cleaned out my whole office by the nature of the meltdown. >> It's a Harvard Law School t-shirt. >> So, most schools could do that. Just saying, assuming that I just got here, what do I do? But, if if eventually we land on principal and assistant principal pairs in both buildings, you're assuming you're going to spend a good deal of summer building out that relationship and building out that plan, working with the incoming superintendent, and all that jazz. And then, it would be good before the year starts just to have you sort of come back and share

with us what you're thinking about doing differently or kind of like what the fruits of those discussions have been. And that would be good to know. Just my personal opinion. >> I agree. >> Does anyone Anyone have any questions for the LES heartless transition plan? If you're still reading, just let me know. >> I'm good. >> We launched the superintendent transition plan. >> Oh man, there's another plan? >> It's just updates. >> Everything you asked me to inform you is kind of kind of new. >> Don't worry, I wasn't sad there was another plan. I think Mary Mary has made a lot of connections in a in a little bit of time. >> Like >> Yeah, she is she's made a real effort to reach out. She went to the briefly to the uh middle

school high school faculty meeting the other day just to say hello. It was a nice touch. Spent a lot of time with the people at the SAU you all the SAU office as well as the other administrator leader. >> She saw Mr. St. John's children >> Yeah, we went to concerts. >> He saw the rest of them in the break. >> She's spending a lot of time with Sheena, which is extremely important. >> Everybody's awesome. Everybody's very helpful, friendly, welcoming. Thank you. >> So, we'll need a we'll need an official plan to steal somebody with superintendent duties from July 1st to >> I think I'll go with Jennifer. >> Up. >> Yeah, but you're right. >> Yeah. >> I'll be glad. >> I'm so engaged. >> Any questions about the update? >> No. >> Thank

you very much. Moving to deep crusader end-of-year events. >> Just there for your reference. Where where we're hitting with the applause. >> What? >> How did that hurt? They're coming time of year. >> And same thing for Lakeway end-of-year events. >> Can I make one one recommendation to the board? To remove the end-of-year events. >> Because many of those events they hold seats aside for school board and sometimes school board and a plus one. And so there's time there's years in past where those seats have been empty. And what I hate is when they're empty and we see parents who struggle to see from the back. >> And seats. >> If we could as a group collectively share with leadership what events we're going to attend and what we're not so that they don't need

to reserve five seats or 10 seats for the board. If they only need to reserve two or three. >> I think if we let Dan Marquino know how many seats to hold for the four members at graduation. >> So, in years past I haven't sat with the board if I've had a child graduating cuz I sit with my family. Um but >> Thank you, Greg. Any other input? And then we'll do public input. >> Before I do that, just a couple things I wanted to mention, my apologies. Uh Travis, just I just wanted to mention a couple things. Uh Michelle let me know the other day we have 43 CTE completers this year. That's a few more than we had last year. And they'll receive their recognition next week. Um last week was um police

appreciation week. And so we we got a little something as a token to show our appreciation to our our our men and women in blue in the downtown. So appreciate very much working with with the LPD and the support that they give. We have a great relationship with Chief Smith who's who's an amazing advocate for so many things in this town. I appreciate their work. Um I do want to at some point do a little something with road the the road crew This winter really really pushed them to the limit I think, but we really depend upon them a lot for the work they do. And then the fire the firemen as well. So we appreciate those people all of them. Uh they have their different types of recognitions. Uh Michelle can speak to this

to more detail if need, but but needed by no other there's a wellness day tomorrow middle school high tomorrow middle school high school. Right. And just some some activities. You want to say anything about that? >> All I know is that it's there's full day activities. There are off campus half day activities on and off campus. There are two keynote speakers, one first thing in the morning. Um there's a keynote speaker. We're still running CTE out of the gym. So it had to be decided with that. Um so there's um that's full school event in the, um, gym outside of out of district. And um, there's another keynote speaker in the afternoon, which is Renee um, with her sailing. So, that will be a whole school activity in there, but they're everywhere. There's, I don't

know, presenters from the community that are coming in. There's only maybe five teachers presenting um, as keynote presenters. Everyone else, the teachers are a participant participant along with the students. And there's outside agencies coming in to run all of the, um, activities tomorrow at the at this campus. They're biking, they're hiking, they're doing long hikes. There's a long hike. >> fun. Is this just middle school, high school, or is this district wide? >> It's middle high school. >> And then, this is new, right? We haven't done this before. >> No, but this is with Lori Butson, our consultant at the high school level to increase, um, positive culture in the building. Um, event for students and staff. >> You can thank me later, Rochelle, for warning you I was going to ask you about this.

>> I've I've gotten used to that. >> She's She's a good extemporaneous speaker. >> And I have it all on my computer. I can give you everything that's >> No, I I said I said I'm part of the planning meeting. It was very very well thought out. Lots of questions there going on with them. Sounds like a a good activity. The weather's going to be pretty good, we hope. And that's all That's all I have. There was one item under superintendents, which was grants and adequacy funding. Yeah, I I added that so that she stuck it in the budget funding. >> All right, you didn't tell me that. >> Um, yeah, I did. I'm sorry. I apologize. So, you may see that or not if you haven't refreshed your page. All I did there we

were starting to talk about grants and we're still talking about another you know what other 10 20 grand coming in or whatever. Uh some some years a couple couple years ago the legislature passed a a RSA requirement to post that information on our website. So, if you go to our website under public notifications there's a lot of legal stuff. But there is but there is a a link there that will take you to the grants that we receive as well as the adequacy grant or adequacy aid year to date. So, I just want to point that out being more for for your information anybody who might listen to this this uh uh broadcast in the future or whatever. Uh that's a quick way to get the get a good good look at what money's coming

in what it's being used for uh to do the grants. And and I update it uh periodically try to keep it as as uh current as I can and I'll have a another new one or two to add to that. I just did it last week. But And it's a good thing. It's a good resource for all of you who ever ask about or what's all this grant money and how much is it? And yada yada. Do we Do we do audits of our grants? >> This is a regular state state level the state does. >> They do at least two. They do they do the the fiscal audit piece of it and uh that's part of the auditing process and then they do a programmatic audit from time to time which is looking at

as the name implies uh what do we how's what how is it are you doing what we're supposed to with the money and and so on. >> Does that cover all the grants? >> Yes. >> And then we also have the federal single audit that's done annually. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Yes, sir. >> Any further questions for the superintendent? Moving to public input. Seeing no public input, I will be looking for a properly worded motion to enter into non-public. >> I'll take it with the Oh, never mind, you got it. >> I got it. >> I make a motion to enter into non-public session under paragraph two, section three of RSA 91A, 423 of the right to know law for one, the dismissal, promotion, or compensation of any public employee or the disciplinary of

such employee or the investigation of any charges against him or her. Two, the hiring of any person as a public employee. Three, matters which if discussed in public would likely adversely affect the reputation of any person other than a member of this board. Do we need eight? Consideration of legal advice provided At last meeting, we had talked about seeking counsel. >> Yeah. We should have We should agree that bill, yes. >> Eight, consideration of legal advice provided by the council. Taking with us Superintendent Niles, Superintendent Anastasia, and Patricia Mello. >> Actually, we need We actually need only Crystal and Mello. Probably not Not Patty, but we do need Crystal and Mello. >> Patty goes away. Crystal, Mello, and Janice. >> Second. >> Any discussion? >> Roll call. >> Favor, I. >> Roll call. >> Great

call. >> Oh, roll call vote, sorry. >> Great call. >> Vote gender. >> I take that. >> Travis Allen. >> We are in non-public. >> I see you, my friend.
