Okay, we're good. >> As far as I not coming to call this meeting into order. We'll start to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Move to item two, consent agenda. >> Do I have a motion to approve the consent agenda for April 6, 2026? >> Okay. Yeah. >> I will second. >> All those in favor? >> I opposed. Abstain. Vote carries 30. We'll move on to number three, business reports. >> Yes. I have a couple action items for you guys tonight. Um, one is going to be approval of the CTE Capital Reserve Trust Fund withdrawal of $36,883 for the purchase of a mobile aligner. I don't know if Michelle wants to talk to it

or not, but um that was one item. And the other item is um the uh my god, why am I having to bring it up? Oh yeah, this uh Littleton High School safety roof access project. I did include the centermark proposal for you guys. Um, I do want to note that the last time Dale got it quoted, it was 70 something and that was within my time here. So, >> yeah, 24. So, two years ago it was 70 something,000 and it is now the 96 >> 98457. Other than that, that would come from year-end um fund balance, which I'm estimating to be about 600,000 as of right now. Other than that, unless you have any questions about my report or the budget report, that's all that I had for you guys tonight. >> Looks good.

You guys want to vote on those two action items now? Check it again. That's number 10. >> Um, no. So, do we have a motion to approve the withdrawal from the CTE capital reserve fund in the amount of $36,883 for the purchase of a mobile aligner to be used in the CTC automotive mutant class as presented? So, moved. >> Second. >> Any discussion? >> All those in favor? I opposed. Abstain. Motion carries 30. I did just get a text from Matt. He says he's going to be late. Don't wait for >> Okay. We have a motion to approve the centmark proposal in the amount of 98,457 premier and estimated funds to install proper safety equipment for roof access at LHS to include removal and disposal of the existing hatch. Install a new hatch with roof

hatch railing system, two sets of roof access stairs and one vertical fix ladder with a swinging gate. So moved. Any discussion? All those in favor? I opposed abstain. Motion carries 30. >> Thank you. >> New business. A aviation STEM day. >> Good evening. Uh Jeremy Brown and I am the instructor for the robotics aerospace and design program uh at the CTC aka the RAD program. Um, last spring we did sort of our inaugural um, STEM day with Franconia Soaring Foundation and what that entailed was bringing about a dozen students out to the Franconia Glider Port um where they received safety training. Uh, they worked with flight instructors and talked about how uh, an airport works. Um, and the highlight of the day was the bag lunches they got from the Capitol. No, the highlight of

the day was the um the the orientation flight they got to take with a certified flight instructor. So, as you know, the glider board has a a series of two-seater gliders um that they use for training purposes and to give rides and stuff like that. And um each of the students got to um hop in a glider with a certified uh flight instructor, go for go for a flight um and learn about you know the basics of controlling an airplane and you know how the control surfaces work and the the the science behind thermals and and weather and ups slope winds and everything like that um as they soared around Franconia Notch. Um, so as as you can imagine, taking students flying is is not usually something that you you would see in in a

high school. And it was a um there presented some unique challenges last year to get everything the legally straight straightened out. Um, and so we are planning to do that again this year. Um in your agenda you have the the packet that I sent home which includes the waivers and the the information and um also the waiverss from Franconia. Um and we are planning again to take 12 students from the RAD program um first and then if there's you know additional room after we've opened it up to students that have been in the RAD program then we'll put it out to the rest of the school. Um, and so the tonight I just wanted to um again let you know that that it's it's happening and if you had any questions or anything like that

um you know everything was approved last year. Nothing has changed in terms of the the waiverss or anything like that. It's still the same circumstances, same field trip. Um except this year we're doing hammers and hot dogs instead of bag lunches. Um but it's uh a really unique opportunity. Um, and it really helps to make the stuff that they study in the classroom, you know, really cement it and and make it a um, you know, real for them. >> And so that'll be happening on June 9th with the rain date on June 11th. Um, and this is part of our ongoing partnership with the Franconia Soaring Foundation. And, um, that's kind of where all of this aviation and robotics, aerospace, and design started. um a couple of members of their their foundation approached us to

say, "Hey, you want to teach aviation and started with one class and now it's a whole CTC program." So, this is, you know, part of the growth of that program. So, um if you'd like to come out and unfortunately we can't take anyone up, any grown-ups, I don't even get to fly that day. Um this is strictly a STEM day for students there. There it's um us and then there'll be some students from Kennet High School's aviation program there as well. Um but the Franconia soaring they do the association does do days where you know for a nominal fee they will take you up for a glider ride and everything like that. So I welcome you to come out and you know see the students uh take their first flight. A lot of them um

a lot of them were very nervous but uh everyone that did it um reported that they they had an excellent time and and um appreciated the experience. So any questions about >> the date? >> Uh so the the date is June 9th and then the rain date is June 11. >> You have three students this year that went to >> Yes. Yeah. So that my um my my I have my first block class I have the out of district students. So, um, I have students from Profile, Lisbon, Grove, Lynwood, and the regional. And I had three students that actually went to ground school at um the count of Calonia County Airport. Um, I that's the ground school I went to. And so, I have a very strong connection with with the pilots there and they

do an amazing job. Um, and so we were able to send three students to ground school and they completed ground school and now we're working on there's a um a Vermont um pilots association scholarship that covers the cost of flight school. So, we're working on filling out applications and studying for the knowledge exam and hopefully uh get the kids over the finish line so they can start their flight training and go on to careers in aviation. So, it's been an exciting year. >> Any other questions? >> Awesome. Thank you. >> Thank you very much. Appreciate it. >> Moving on to the HOSA International Leadership Conference. >> My name is Kate. I'm one of the advis Caitlyn. I'm one of the adviserss for HOSA. And this is Xandon, one of the um participants for HOSA. My

name is Xandon Red Oak and I am here on behalf of our school's HOSA program also known as future health professionals. We are respect respectfully asking for your permission and support to attend the HOSA state conference which will take place at the end Indiana comp convention center in Indianapolis Indiana in Wednesday June 17th through Sunday June 21st. This year eight of her students have worked very hard and successfully qualified at the regional level to compete at the state conf conference. This is a big achievement and it gives us the opportunity to continue on to the international level of competition. I personally competed in medical read. I read the books wonder gifted hands gifted hands by Ben Carson and chasing my gear. These book books helped me to explore diseases and diagnosis for real life experiences.

It it also was a great opportunity for me to read and comprehend real life situations. At internationals in Indiana, I will be able to compete against other middle schoolers in the country in this category. I'm currently rereading all the books in this category and I provide you with the example for my category. HOSA is an organization that helps students explore career careers in the healthcare, build leadership skills and gain real world experience. By attending this conference, we will be able to compete in events to learn new skills and represent our school of pride. Our adviserss, Miss Kaitton Caitlyn Angler and Mr. Kayen Ba Bailey will be attending with us as chaparones to ensure our safety and support us throughout the trip. We are very proud of how much our program has grown and with your

support. We hope to continue building opportunities like this for students in the future. On behalf of HOSA, thank you for your time and consider consideration. We truly appreciate your support. Do >> you guys have any questions for us? or for me. >> Yeah. >> Well, Greg is not here, but he had one question. Did he relay it? He wondered why um some of the students were younger this year. He thought he was remembering it was all high school students before. >> So, we tried we've tried for several years to get high school students involved in HOSA and have not found a way to to incorporate that. Well, so in order to build um the state allows for us under CTE to um incorporate middle school And so sixth grade, sixth, seventh, and eth are considered

middle school students and which is why they're using the sixth grade. It just happens to be in a different building for us, but the state um definition is six, seven, and eight. So they created a middle school team uh for host of this year in hopes that we can grow um our student body into a full team that will expand over to high school students. That's the goal. >> We did bring four high schoolers. They just didn't qualify for internationals. And then this was um one of the first years that middle school was available for HOSA. So it's new for middle school. So in the future, we hope that Kaden Bailey will be the adviser for sixth, seventh, and eighth, and I'll be the high school adviser, and then we can hopefully build the program

back up. >> Thank you. Great. >> Well, Kate, that was a great presentation. >> I'm so sorry. Will you come back after to tell us about it? Come back to tell us about it. >> So everybody wants to know their summer. >> Yeah. >> But they have been doing some fundraising and so that they can pay for this trip. So they have been busy with that as well. kind of like fart with the robotics, we use outside sources to be able to help pay for lodging and whatnot. So, they have been doing that as well. >> Um, when I was looking over the paper, it showed some students heads um parents. >> Yeah. Parents or or someone else's sponsor for chaperon. Do all students have to have an individual chaper? >> No, they don't. So

if um they don't have a chaperone then they we have certain parents that they could stay with. So um I think one is going to stay in our room. So we'll share a bed and then she'll be in next like next door. And then we're hoping maybe to have uh we might go down to four rooms so that if the cost is less per student. >> Thank you. >> Please make my wife. She actually would be a chaperon for free girls if it is approved. >> Any other questions or comments? >> Do we have a motion to approve the HOSA International Leadership Conference as presented? >> Is there a second? >> A second. >> Any discussion? I would just say I normally I should have seen it some way but since my daughter is one

of the >> students I'm very familiar with the whole concept so I feel despite my rude and tardy arrival informed enough to vote if that's okay. >> All those in favor I opposed abstain vote carries 4. Thank you. You did good. >> All right. Moving on to item C, LHS DBNS program of studies and class of 2030 requirements. >> So I ask that we table that till next time when Al's available. And we continue to have a few little wrinkles here and there because of the changing landscape of state requirements. So we'll bring that back hopefully May 4th meeting. >> On to item D. Lakeway assistant principal job description. The only uh the only major change is this is an addition of language related specifically to bullying and fairness and treatment for student. And if

you if you open it, you'll see that the section of students and language is added and it's highlighted in yellow. Does >> anybody have any questions? >> Do we have a motion to approve the lakeway assistant principal job description as presented? >> So moved. >> Second. >> Any discussion? >> All those in favor? I opposed abstain. Vote carries 4. on to E. Lakeley Elementary principal job description. >> It has the same addition of language relative to bullying and fairness and equity. The only other addition uh this is kind of a change the job description based on the on the person filling the job at this point is the addition of title one. >> Meaning because nobody has done that. Is there something that you expect to shift from the principal to the assistant principal? >>

It could in the future. >> No, not this. I mean, there's something to balance out the workload. >> She's taking this from that role to this role. Something that goes the other direction >> probably. I mean, it could in the future depending upon the personnel and their background and so on. That was something she wanted to retain. And I think the big thing is just make clear doing it. Since at this point she's doing this as her responsibility description. Any other questions or comments? >> So I have a motion to approve the Lakeway Elementary principal job description as presented. >> Is there a second? >> Second. >> Any discussion? All those in favor I opposed abstain. Mot carries 4. >> Moving right along to F policy BDF advisory committees to the board. >> I'd like

to have this table until the policy committee can meet review it because it has not gone before. The changes have not gone before the policy committee appropriate. >> Yeah. Sounds good to me. G appendix BDF- R1 advisory committee to the board template for the board. Same thing. >> Yes. On to H. Daisy Bronson building use team study team guidelines. >> Henry. So uh we had a monthly meeting just >> Henry won. >> Thank you. >> Okay to speak. >> Yes sir. >> Didn't know. Um so we had our monthly facility meeting a few weeks ago. Bill and Greg are on on the team and Dale some of the others in this room. Um the with the academy moving to this main building, the academy building is now going to be vacant. So we were talking

of a proposition to have a study group that would be able to look at options for the building. Um I know there's been some suggestions made already but uh we were we were having a discussion which I don't know if prior to the policy thing that we that you table bill was was part of this or not but um what this study group would consist of is hopefully through through direction and approval of the board would be school administrators and and teaching staff would get together and try to figure out scholastic needs of how they could utilize the space that's now available over there. The the other the other group that would be part of the of the team would be um consist of the business manager and other people that are savvy in town

or or on the board with cost. And by that I mean u whatever we do over there costs money. And hopefully this time around we can find some cost efficiencies and some cost savings and also some um partners that may want to invest in whatever we decide to do over there. So that would be part the the second group. The third group would be the design team. And what what that would what their role would be initially. Um as you know we worked on strategic planning and Travis was was on my group and Dale was as well and the strategic planning that we had come up with for the whole SAU district was to do needs assessments for each of the buildings. So our initial uh responsibilities for the academy would be to do a

basic needs assessment for the building and then we would be on hold and waiting for feedback from the teaching teaching team that would be able to present us opportunities that they think that they could utilize the space for. And then at that point, we would be able to go to work, pull up our shirt sleeves, and see what the options would be. We most likely would have to come back to the board and ask for funding in order to have architectural uh input. So that's that's the thought process that we were talking about at the facilities. Um, I think it's something that we should take a hard look at and do it do it more strategically than we did with the Lakewood piece and have each of these groups assigned certain responsibilities so that hopefully

it'll flow better than the last our last attempt. So I I've learned a little bit on the process than from the last time. So that was that's what I presented to the facility group and I believe it was received well. >> Thank you. >> Is that anything that needs to vote or just information for us? Well, I think if we're going to create the committee, it would need to be voted on and membership of the committee would need to be voted out by the board. Not that they have to do it tonight. Yeah. Well, we have the names of everybody to participate. >> Yeah, we can do it all. Henry, I uh is a consmate public servant as always and I appreciate your thorough uh assessment. Two things. one, just for the record, I object

to the argument that the Lakewood project um wasn't run strategically or sufficiently strategically. I think that Erica and Dale and you did a wonderful job leading that effort and I think the result that we got is not reflective of a lack of strategic forethought or structure on the part of the labor committee. Um my my second more important I guess comment or question would be this sort of seems to presume that we know for sure that we want to keep the facility. Would part of this study group be to evaluate >> selling it or at least considering that possibility to look at all options >> would potentially be on the table. The feeling the feeling Matt was my my feeling is we have an asset. It's part of our campus. We've already purchased adjacent properties

and and as insurance over the years to provide us some room for growth and and just selling the building outright to somebody else. that will now take away space from our campus would to me doesn't make good sense. >> Yeah, I think it's unlikely too, but I think it deserves to be evaluated just so we understand what all the options are. >> Yeah, >> agreed and thank you for the comment. Any other questions? U moving to I intend to remain on building a ranked list. >> So each year by May 1st we have to submit um our documentation um now that we're on the list that the board would support remaining on the list. Um so I believe Sheena has provided you with the motion that's specific to the state building a document. Um, and

similar to last year, then we have to approve the minutes of some sort to be able to put it in by before the next board meeting. >> I think she just provides the to get them written up. >> That's fine. >> She'll send it to you so you can attach them. >> Perfect. >> So, just to give you a a brief overview what you approved. Sorry, I don't have the exact documentation in front of me. Okay. What you approved last year for a cost to be put on the list versus the change from last year to this year is really the >> Yes. >> the biggest difference. >> That's just all inflationary. >> Correct. We didn't change any design setup. >> I wonder you said May 1st. I wonder Travis worthy chairman sir uh we

have the joint meeting on Thursday. I don't know, but I wonder if it's worth not that it's not it's not their decision, but I I wonder if it's worth bringing this up with the select board and the budget committee to see what their perspective is. And maybe we could vote maybe we could vote to do it contingent on the outcome of that discussion. Oops. In my opinion, that's going to be a gray area that the state's not going to like. >> They're not going to want >> they want they want a full commitment on a motion to go forward. We still have the discussion Thursday night, but the wording of the motion tonight needs to be >> right. It's just it's just to keep us on the list. We would still >> like if we

don't go to March meeting, right, we don't go and then you still have to recommit the following year. This is just to stay on the list. And it was a pretty good financial commitment to just get on the list. It wasn't a double paperwork. >> Huge. I mean, this is just to keep us on the list. It doesn't mean we're taking it. You know what I mean? Or it's happening. It's just to stay on the list. >> Yeah. I'm looking at it the other way. I understand. But my point is just quote unquote just staying on the list is an academic exercise in futility. I'm identical for this. I figure at this. But my point is there ought to be a consequence to those commitments that we need to underscore with the select board and

the budget committee in just a full disclosure and partnership because a the cost is going up 2 million bucks every time we talk about it, >> right? It's up 4 million since I think the original number. >> And it's it the the language of the vote presumes the availability of the property that the longer this goes becomes less and less of a of a certainty. >> So maybe that conversation has to be had during that joint meeting like just so you know on Monday night. >> See now you're on my side, >> right? Well, no, but just we can't have that contingency in the actual vote because then the state's going to look at it as it's really not a vote because it's contingent on this conversation and then we have to wait for this

conversation. >> But I get what you're saying like you because I know you're definitely going to be there. You will >> address that. We just had to vote on this Monday night. So just so you know, annually the state requires us to go through these motions. We need to revisit and have this conversation where everybody stands and going forward, right? Do we want to continue to stay on it? You know, and then that's what will have to be discussed during next year's process right prior to today's April right before the letter has to be seated by. >> Are you volunteering to lead the effort? >> I am not because I will not be there Thursday night. So, >> what does this money do? What is this for besides keeping us on the list? >> I

mean, what what are the expenses tied to this $43,000? >> Not everything's been done. >> Nothing. So, we're just paying the state to keep us on the list. >> No, no, sorry. It's meant to be 43 million >> and that's saying the price of the construction. >> There's no cost. We've already >> Okay, there's no comment. All right. >> Sorry, my misunderstanding on this. >> I will speculate that if you guys had the discussion Thursday and came back and said at your next board meeting that you voted to remove yourself, a letter to the DOE would probably be sufficient to remove us from the list. >> That would be a cool racket though if the state cost 43 grand just to be on the list. Yeah, that's a good idea actually. That could be a

way. >> It's a new way for them to earn money. >> If they get enough collected in, then they can start paying out some money for the game. >> I love it. >> Any other questions? >> I didn't even get up to speed. So, we're looking for a motion to resubmit the building aid application with the intent to remain on the building aid ranked list for the project of a new elementary school totaling 72,382 ft to be located on 17 acres at the Daughters of Charity site with the 2026 GM MP of $43,31,243. If the project is selected for building a 8, the project will be put forth for voter consideration subject to receding building a move. >> I'll second. >> Any discussion? All those in favor? I >> I opposed. Vote carries 301. This

switches to item J, school resource officer, Chief Smith. >> So, I was asked to come here, Paul Smith. I was asked to come here in reference to the attempt that we had uh to put a school resource officer here. And as you know, we had uh unanimous board support actually had a lot of support not just with um this board but our own board um other elected officials, healthcare officials and so on and so forth. Um it was disappointing. Uh we certainly could have put the position into the budget. It's not mandated that we do a warrant article, but uh I just felt that the position was highly contentious within the community previously um about 20 years ago actually. It's been a long time, but uh people don't forget and we didn't want to slide

something under their nose that they didn't necessarily want. And the vote was close. Um, I'm sure there were a few factors um that probably tipped it in the favor of opposition. Um, one being the history associated with the prior position here, but also I think there's a a misunderstanding that your safety officer serves as an SRO that you already have that position here um because he's a former police chief. And you know, there's probably a lot of confusion there as well. Um second thing is is that the funding just had shifted tremendously from previous grants. Uh some grants were 100% the first year, 75% the second year, 50% third year and then the municipality takes over. Uh this grant was only $125,000 for three years. So it's around 41,000 in in change for each year.

So that's a big shift in funding. what it used to be and you know people picked up on that. Um it's sad it it's sad that u what had happened is is a tremendous amount of funding from uh the department the US department of justice cops um program uh was shifted to homeland security. So they reduce the amount of the the grant. And so obviously uh financial concerns were another issue that we that we perceived was the issue for the with article not passing. Should a should an opportunity arise in the future where there's some really good funding and it's something that we feel that the community may take another look at. Uh I mean certainly would go forward uh in obviously with with this board. We're not going to do anything without um you

know having a having the board with us on that. Certainly the superintendent. >> So did we reject the the grant? Like did you said >> I had to Yeah. So, good thing is is we notified Department of Justice and we said um the legislative body didn't vote for the position so we need to return the money and we initiated that process right after the uh the second half of the town meeting and uh that was actually finalized last week. >> Okay. >> And we had to return. What was the annual amount that you needed additional? I was just just curious. >> They used to they used to go with a whole bunch up in front and then they slowly it slowly decreased. >> Yeah. >> But the grant award was for $125,000. So the annual

amount was 41,667 per year. You know, and the confusing part is is that the Warren article itself had to say exactly how much a fully funded position would be. So people are like, "Am I voting for that or am I voting for the reduced amount?" Because a fully funded position um a full year cost, a 12-month cost, and this is all benefits including equipment and uniform uh $125,266. the most of that is medical uh because we have to budget for a family plan >> and and um retirement. >> So, you know, that's a big number as you guys know going into the budget season. We know that we have some challenges and that people see that number and they may not like that. I personally believe the amount of calls that we were up here

and we we're not we're not objecting to call ratios up here, but we certainly could use those resources elsewhere. >> Right. Um, it certainly would would help us that we can dedicate our our patrol staff to one particular area and have somebody here that knows your staff, knows your students as well as Lakeway um, and can deal with these issues here specifically like an outside works, which is it's not about it's not about control, it's about understanding. There's a big difference. There's a shift in philosophy. um probably back when they started doing school resource officers and specifically around early 2000s it was it was totally different program and now they have state certification as well as national certification and that that didn't exist back then. So we get like that >> but you can apply

for that every year like is it >> I can um you know let's say miraculously we came up with the money this year and um we came up with the money this year I mean to to fully fund it uh you know we have to go under the premise of no means no the legislative body for the next 12 months is no till we bring it back in front of them. So, you know, unfortunately, we we won't be able to find that position this year. Even if we did that, >> I think the way they write the article too and how we are allowed to put notes, you know, to show what is being allocated from where would be helpful because like you said, if you have to have that whole 125 in that article,

maybe if there were notes that were um grant funded 41,000 um school district build at 80,000, you know, whatever it may be, might be helpful. >> That could be helpful. I know that I didn't want to get into I didn't want to make the waters money. Um I I noted that the last time I was a school resource officer, but um when I first was appointed chief 100 years ago and um you know, it really muddied the waters. Which budget's this coming from and who's paying for what? And I just quite honestly wanted to wanted it passed and then if there was an offer or if there was some uh some joint funding that would have been fine because ultimately it's same pocket. Right. >> Right. >> It's the same pocket still the taxpayer. So

uh I didn't I didn't go down that road but if somebody wanted to be creative and approach us with or approach me with something then we could certainly uh try that. Any other questions or comments? >> The the sort of old memories that die hard that you spoke to. >> I constantly find out curiosities and eccentricities about life in Little. It would seem to me is it let me ask a question I guess. Is it your impression that those bad feelings or memories largely had to do with the occupant of the role then or the structure of the role? >> Yes. >> Okay. Kind of both. >> You're saying the structure has totally changed. >> The structure has changed. I mean, uh, you know, our neighbors, the the regional, um, high school, uh, why not

regional, they have three. They have, oh, two now. Well, they have, uh, but they have one doing the elementary school and then they have one assigned to elementary schools, correct? They did she go up to Lancaster? No, >> but she may next year, >> right? And then, of course, the high school. And, you know, I think that makes a huge difference. I mean, they they've really committed to the program there. They've had some really good SRO. Uh and um you know they've pro those SRO have proven the worth of the program as in other districts. Um hopefully before I retire we can we can improve that right here in this district. But funding has a lot to do with it, you know, and it's tight. We all know that. So we got to be creative.

Thank you, Chief. >> Thank you. >> Uh moving on to unfinished business teacher residency program. >> Okay. We have completed interviews and we've we've selected or made offers to four potential residents and now we're in the process of uh confirming on their them that they indeed want to join the program. Uh we do have a meeting tomorrow from the state. We'll go over the final feedback that they got from the individuals that we extended an invitation to and then move forward with the next steps of the process. The housing programming, a little bit of PD and supports going forward. We're very excited about that. >> You have any placement yet? >> They will all be no secondary candidates. You guys are doing everything you can to get great keeping up. >> We try. >> Yeah.

>> Did we figure out housing if they all force say yes? >> Uh we we've got two of our current uh uh land landlord and we'll be looking for two more probably other other location. That's one of the things we'll need to figure out. >> Is there a rail fill up? We had we had we we still have the continuing two that we have this year, but because we dropped from four back to two, we lost we lost access to a few other apartments, but there are other providers in town that we'll certainly reach out to as well. >> Thank you. >> Y >> uh committee reports. Has there been any committee reports since last board meeting? >> Uh facilities So under old business, the live load monitoring uh installation is scheduled to begin on

June 24th with a completion date of June 26 or June 29th at Lakeway. Um the academy move to the high school obviously is underway. Um Dale did speak already on the proposal which we talked about in depth um to do the studies. Uh RFP updates the academy boilers and hot water tank. Dale has uh had three site visits unless there's been more since we we met. Um with the contractors to review that that project. He's expecting at least three proposals. Um Henry and I um both brought up that we should look at dual fuel boiler options versus just going with propane. Um as we can see right now prices are in flux. Uh so it may be cost effective for us to have dual fuel systems versus just going with a propane system. Uh cost

will give us more than that. the new gym floor at Littleton High School. Uh sales sent out uh to 10 reached out to 10 vendors. He has one vendor that's submitted the proposal back. One has inquired. Um so we're hoping that we'll get at least one more or two more uh so that we can have something good for comparison. Asbestous abatement at the academy uh scheduled for spring break, April 27th through the 29th. that's on the first floor. Um, let's see. The grade school cleanup is scheduled for the 24th and it's organized by the student council. So, that's coming right up. Uh, security upgrades to the safe grant, cameras, and access controls. Um, you still working on those quotes or is that finalized now? >> Um, we have the final quote. put in the purchase

order again. >> Okay. >> Uh RFP for stage lighting. That's not something that's going to happen this year, but Dale is looking at those numbers obviously for next year. We did discuss whether or not there were LED lamps that could be installed into the current fixtures just to help tone the heat down on the stage. Don't know if that's possible. Um so, uh Dale is going to research that more. Sometimes those upgrades are more expensive than another fixture. So I'm running into that a lot of work. So don't know where that's going to take us. That was it. It's good. It's great meeting. Thank you. Student representative report. Seeing no student representative, I think we'll move to the superintendent report. >> Okay. Um want to recognize administrative professionals uh week. So Sheena sitting right down

there at the end. These these individuals really uh the individuals that keep everything running smoothly and keep us all on track. And you all you see what Sheena does all the time because she does most of the leg work for getting all the board meetings ready and the minutes and everything. Judy Hassllet uh who works uh fills several roles with the CTC, the building and grounds and the athletics. Um Deb Marquee in the main office is a to the principal. Uh Amy Lurby, who's the administrative assistant with our counseling department, the high school, Jenny Bar, who's the person you'll see when you come into the school, the receptionist. Lana Glover, Glover, who's a AA, one of the dynamic duo at Lakeway Elementary School. Chris Kappler, uh the the uh also AA at Lakeway Elementary School.

Both of those individuals do a lot for the culture and climate and the work that's done in that school. And then Crystal Reed who has supported the above the notch school as well as an administrative assistant in the past for as well. So I want to recognize and thank those individuals for this for this week uh and not just this week but every week and the work that they do. >> Thanks Sheena. >> Yes. Thank you. She's doing her work as you speak. She just put the facilities. >> I don't see it. >> Yeah. Um >> I will I will pop back apology. Bill Lauren, my apology. We should have had a committee meeting. Thank you for keeping me online. Bill's been very very devoted as was Eric to coming to the meetings and in

doing that. So while we were I already popped an invitation out for you next week. If that works, we'll get together and we'll look for another day. But we will have that. Um the uh the high school drama department presented Leading Ladies and uh got to see one performance of that and I see why it was wellreceived, very funny. Um a small small production, not a huge cast, but a very very gifted cast and very very talented and and exuberant uh set of actors and actresses that were in that production. Um we got our title one funding uh preliminary allocation today. Uh there were there were stories of 20% reduction this that and the other. We are down just a little bit nowhere near 20% closer to 2 or 3%. So that's that's good news.

um some some districts lost more than others based upon their pre-introduced lunch uh counts and that's one thing that we do really well in this district and and again I'll go back to the work of one of our administrative uh professionals I just mentioned Jenny Barrett who does a lot of work but staying on top of that as do many of the other administrative assistants Sheenas and others would help uh help get that make sure the kids are qualified for for free lunches we in fact they're getting qualified Okay, corner to me quarterly meeting um agenda was set out today and uh I just I just added the the request on the agenda and on Thursday what they're asking for us SAU administrative changes full-time and part-time superintendent services overview and so I'll do some

of the things on this agenda unless the board would would rather me not but uh that one clearly needs to come from the important to talk about and share with the committee the vision there. Uh future focused studies assigned to superintendent shared opportunities of the districts and evaluation of SAU's curriculum approach. So again, the board will need to think about how they wish to approach that school survey summary and response plan. That is that's in relation to the survey I shared with you last time rel relative to the the strategic plan and I will I will I will overview that respond to that fiscal year update I rising energy cost impact and I'll work with Patty and Dale uh on that and share that information. We're going to enroll an update. I will share information

on that. And then I just added the other their building which we just added tonight is something we want to bring up. Any direction, questions, comments about quarterly meetings. Um, yeah, back to the Dark Ages when I was checking. I'll send I'll have to send you some um emails because there was, shall I say, contentious back and forth between Diane and I, I think shortly after the vote, um, around some of the topics that have made their way onto the agenda for Thursday. I don't know it'll be there. I think obviously we should be maximally transparent as we always are. And so I'm glad we're talking about these things, but I would just say um if people want to be involved in the way that the school board uh directs the superintendent, they should run

for school board or uh they should come to our meetings which are always held uh in public, always open to the public and always held with public comment. Uh I think the budget committee in their earnest and wonderful desire to explore all things and be helpful um goes beyond their scope and which can create a lot of confusion and too many masters. So, I would just guard against that. I'll forward the um the back and forth. I I also again just because I don't know that I'll be there on Thursday. I know the last quarterly meeting after the town vote, the town manager was deeply interested in taking the school board to task for what he perceived to be misunderstood uh our impact on the tax rate and our budget. I'll be fascinated to see

now that you know 90% of the increase is coming from the town side if that conversation is replayed with this much further and bigger. Uh on Thursday I have my but those are not comments. >> Any other comments? >> Yeah, I'll send it to everybody. >> Thank you, Steve. I'm moving on to public input. >> Oh, I do have one more thing. There is an enrollment report there real quick and it's length if you want to take a look at it but u we're down a little bit more fortunately from six students less than we had the last report share of the board 26 so you can see every every grade level how many students per grade level and where we stand as of today she clearly just ran the city sorry I didn't mean

to skip Thank you, Steve. >> Now, moving on to public input. >> I have some public input. Please state your name for the record. >> Uh, Representative Joseph Barton, Littleton, New Hampshire. Um, by now all of you have received several emails from me about Marian Anastasia and your hiring of her. Um, I specifically wanted to address an ethics complaint which you may or may not be aware of that has come about from the state board of education uh making a decision in in my favor that she has deprived uh my rights to due process and and um my parental rights and deprived my uh child who attends Whitefield Elementary School. Um she's she's been negatively impacted by her gross uh misjudgment. Um I have two lawsuits against the district. Uh the town in part because

of the SRO who is um uh will lose immunity because of the of the overlapping nexus with the district. I would discourage an SRO. Um, but I I would ask that the board reconsider strongly because she's very likely to lose her certification uh for violating uh ED510. Um, and uh subject she's subjecting that district unnecessarily to tens of thousands of dollars of litigation. Uh, and I'm I'm fighting fighting the district for her actions. And um I don't think that this district would should should have to subject itself to uh the same kind of unnecessary expenses that she has brought upon uh um SAU 36 where I went to school where if you roam those high school walls you'll see my name for uh cross country and I ran cross country here with Littleton when I

was in in high school and uh and and it's a it's a travesty what she has has done to that district. I'm happy to take any any questions. You may want to uh bring them into executive session because it's personnel. >> Thank you. >> I mean, I I guess I'll just state for the record. I appreciate you being here. Um and appreciate your perspective. I I don't know the particulars of the situation other than what's been laid out in documents that you've sent. So I can't speak to the situation um and I can't uh validate or invalidate the concerns that he presented in the documents that you shared with Daily. I will say that it's been my impression from both direct indirect conversation and number of people that that Dr. Anastasia reputation is stellar has

been stellar for a very long time and that she's earned the reputation and the accolades that she's been given. I certainly stand by our decision to hire her. I'm grateful that she's come to this district. grateful for the leadership that she'll provide. That having been said, you know, the board has a duty to evaluate everything. So, I appreciate when anybody brings anything to light, but for for me and for myself, I stand uh by my vote and my support of course, but I appreciate the comments. Thank you. Any other comments? Seeing no other accounts, we'll be looking for a properly worded motion to take us into non-public. >> I'm making a motion to enter into non-public session under paragraph 2, section 3 of the RSA 91A, colon 3, the right to no law for number

one, the dismissal, promotion or compensation of any public employee or the disciplining of any such employee or the investigation the charges against him or her. Two, the hiring of any person as a public employee. Three matters which if discussed in public would like likely adversely affect the reputation of the person other than a member of this board. We need any others cover. Okay. Taking with us Superintendent Nius Anastasia and Patty Brown. >> Is there a second? >> Second. >> Any discussion? All those in favor roll call vote. Bill Jro >> Travis Howard opposed. Vote carry 4. Okay.
