on here the junior ROTC presentation of colors. Can you all rise with me? To the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> [applause] >> Once again, thank you to our junior ROTC color guard for their presentation of colors. [clears throat] The rest of the order of the presentations will be the board president's report followed by the superintendent district updates and our student representatives reports by Mr. Dr. Daniel Aeri and Andrew Ming. So, please bear with me tonight. Good evening, Rosel families. To my fellow board members, Dr. Fiser, our administrative team, teachers, support staff, parents, and community partners, and especially our brilliant scholars. Welcome to our November 2025 meeting of the Roso Board of Education. Before

I begin, I want to share a moment that has stayed with me since fall recess in the beginning of November. In response to the impending SNAP benefit shutdown, I asked our superintendent of schools to work on putting support through our community partners together and food service uh vendors. We wanted to support our families who would nor who would normally eat at school. We wanted to support them while they were not in school. First of all, I'd like to thank everyone uh who showed up, our administration, staff, food service partners, and even our board members. Um the staff who came that week where it was designed for one meal distribution, ended up being almost a daily distribution. And I really do want to say thank you down to our custodians setting up, hanging in there, and

being with us. And I really want to thank everyone for answering the call to ensure our students didn't go hungry when schools were closed for the week. As we were distributing the bags, a student showed up for school. Schools were closed. We advised him that. And as he went to leave, our superintendent stepped in to stop him, to contact the parent, and ensure he had safe passage back home. Something about that moment stuck with me so deeply because that's who our children are. They show up ready. They show up hopeful. They show up believing that this district will meet them where they are and lift them higher. And that's why we are in this room tonight. As your board president, I have the privilege of seeing the bigger picture of seeing how every small step,

every policy, every program, and every decision we make becomes a building block in every student's life. Tonight's agenda may look like a bunch of pages of approvals to be made and resolutions, but to me and hopefully to the rest of my board members colleagues, it reads like a love letter to our students. When we approve extended learning programs such as before the bell, after school program offerings like 21st century and everything in between, we're telling our students, you are worth the extra time. You are worth the investment. When we support adult ESL classes, we're telling our parents, your growth matters, too. Your voice belongs here. When we expand safety plans, when we review these HIV reports, when we support teachers with meaningful training, we are saying we will protect you. We will guide you. We

will surround you with people who care. We are not just managing a school district. We are shaping futures. And Rosa Public Schools children's and families, I know they feel it. They feel the compassion in every coat drive, toy drive, and food drive, and dress down day initiative. They feel the excitement in every gifted and talented band and athletic competition. They feel the possibility when they're taught how to navigate the world. Whether that's mastering the bus system in our community-based instruction programs or preparing for a dance performance or learning the courage to raise their hands in class. They feel pride when they see their parents, grandparents, and caregivers become active partners in their learning journey. They feel the hope in our buildings when they see classrooms full of teachers who believe in them, push them, and

stretch them to be great. It is my hope that they feel the promise when they hear that this board is investing in facilities, in technology, in sustainable energy, and long-term planning because it tells them we are building something for you that will last. Before I close, I'd like to ask everyone to keep the families who were displaced by fire on Monday, November 17th, 2025 in your thoughts and prayers. There are several initiatives that are being rolled out to support the families. Please contact your building leadership to find out more on how you can support the families in their time of need. Tonight, I'm thinking of that young man and all of our 3,000 plus students who grace our school hallways, packing their dreams into their backpacks, carrying hoes bigger than their bodies. Students who walk

through our doors every day expecting magic. And the truth is, we owe them that magic. Not someday, but now. So, board members and admin, as we move through this agenda tonight, I want us to hold one thing close. Please note that every vote we cast has a name on it attached to it, a face, a story, a child who believes in us because we are here to honor that belief. We are here to move education forward. And we are here to build brighter futures, one decision, one classroom, and one student at a time. Thank you, Roselle, for the privilege of serving you. And thank you for trusting all of us. And most of all, thank you for standing with our students because they will always be the heart of this district. Respectfully submitted, Dr. Washington,

[applause] >> Dr. Fischer. Thank you. >> Thank you, Dr. intent. >> Certainly, it is it is always moving when we have an opportunity just to reflect on all the great work that happens uh at this day and and certainly the board members and their commitment. So, let me just by again begin by saying good evening to everyone present this evening and always welcome to my board members to see for another another uh opportunity to uh be present here in the Rosell community. and welcome to those who are continuing to join us on our new district uh YouTube channel. We want to welcome you to our monthly board meeting. Uh let me just begin by saying that today marks day 56 of the 2526 school year and certainly I have to say that time flies. Time

flies. Uh particularly when great work is happening across the entire school district. But before I begin, I just want to quickly echo uh Miss uh excuse me, Dr. Washington's points by acknowledging our families that have been impacted by the fire this week. Uh we certainly uh are thankful for the fact that we had no reported injuries from from that fire. No reported injuries. However, we want to continue to give them our thoughts and our prayers to uh as they move forward and as a school community. We're looking forward to supporting those families that have been displaced and it's just another opportunity to see that uh the communal support is what really helps folks get through these difficult times and we have a couple initiatives that are out that will be supporting our families across the

various schools. Uh again, I want to just emphasize that November is an absolutely extraordinary month is is short in terms of instructional time, but certainly we want to uh take a moment to acknowledge that we celebrated Veterans Day uh this year and we were celebrating a host of other achievements across the district. Uh tonight, what I would like to just kind of highlight some of the important updates about a number of things and I'll begin by first addressing public comments from our last board meeting. Uh we did have a uh a public comment that was stated regarding our math teachers at Grace Wday. Uh we are fully staffed in that math area. We we just had it was the day after the next day after our board meeting we onboarded a new math teacher who

had started with us. So we were able to address that issue uh at Grace Will Day. I want to uh I wanted to personally uh thank uh uh Gabby uh Kjo for her wonderful Hispanic Hispanic Heritage Month uh uh poem. It was such a beautiful poem uh with lots of emotions. So I certainly love to display our students and the things that they do uh with the spoken word. Uh again uh it was a beautiful poem. I do want to also acknowledge that we had a parent who had some concerns regarding uh their student at the KSA and we've had conversations uh with the administration regarding that parents concerns and they're working with the school administration to follow up on that matter. With that being said, let me dive into some of the great things

happening across the district. First, allow me to congratulate publicly uh Crystal Parr Allen and Heather Peters who were both nominated uh as educators of the year. uh for the the Rosel Chamber of Commerce uh 2025. So, congratulations to those [applause] and and they will be recognized formally at a banquet scheduled in the month of December. That date, I believe, is the 6th or the 9th, but we'll have information put out so that we can support them in that endeavor. Uh this month, the superintendence cafe series, we had uh two very important u events. One of them happens to be destigmatizing mental health which we held on the 18th from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. which was a great opportunity to have uh individuals who logged on this Zoom session to hear about the mental health challenges

and just to reduce the mental health stigmatation that uh many folks are experiencing. Uh the high school also uh part of the cafe they hosted a financial aid night which is actually uh upcoming which is on the 24th. So, we're looking forward to continue to have those types of events so we connect our families to these wonderful opportunities to get resources. I want to bring to the public um an update on our new school initiative. Uh we are continuing to build the future together. I'm pleased to uh update the community on some of the significant progress that we've been making. This month we convened our new school ad hoc committee. uh we had conversations on uh with our stakeholders on how we could collaborative collaboratively address our district's facility needs and ensure we provide 21st

century learning environments. So this continues to be aligned with our 20 vision 2027 goal of expanding highquality instructional environments. So we are proceeding with our applications to the New New Jersey Department of Education to advance this critical initiative. Uh some of the things that we had to do in in terms of moving this forward, we had to provide official documentation to the NJ DOE. We had to also complete comprehensive details on uh the proposed facility improvements. We also had to provide uh uh financial projections and and a budget analysis. We provide preliminary architectural designs and illustrations of what we envision. Uh we detailed some descriptions of some spaces that support our instructional programs which all came as a result of the official board approval that we had two months prior as well as the transmitter

of a letter to the county superintendent letting them know that we are uh pursuing the appropriate channels to move forward. So this process for me u really talks about our ability to be proactive, accountable and to really be community centered for long-term facility planning. And this again aligns with vision 2027 as we continue to work on our operational excellence. Uh I want to thank those committee members for coming out and supporting the endeavor. I would like to also echo uh Dr. um Washington's sentiments when we were able to assist our community during the uh hiatus of the SNAP benefits. we were able to support our community and we were certainly gr glad to have our uh our food service provider Machios to be a part of that as well as the Burrow Rosel and representatives

from Union County to help us with a multi-day uh initiative. So we certainly appreciated all those who were part of that experience. Thank you. Thank you. [applause] I want to highlight we had a community health fair here at the high school which was sponsored by our special services department title one and our 21st century program in conjunction with the Union County Department of Health Management. And during that event we served about 80 plus community members. Uh families received everything from blood pressure, blood glucose cancer, vision screening, vaccinations, you name it. we were able to service our families uh via this Union County Department uh of health management. In addition to that, we also offered another family resource night which drew well overund to 150 students, parents, and community members uh here at the high school

where we the title one, title 3 special services and 21st century programs provided uh essential services, multilingual counseling, health screenings and one accessible location. And certainly it was a great opportunity to hear from our uh our our string orchestra who also had an opportunity to participate in that event. I want to thank my schools across the district because they celebrated Veterans Day in numerous ways, but one of the ones I I I saw that really stuck was Miss Mrs. Jimenez's class from Harrison Elementary where they actually wrote thank you letters in Spanish to veterans, including one special uh recipient, uh Mrs. Amen's sister who was a Navy veteran. Um Pope also had an opportunity to highlight our veterans and they all wore camouflage that day, you know, and such it was a great honor to

see our kids understand the contributions of our military. And I also had the distinct honor and privilege of being the guest of honor at the ACS Marine Corps JOTC 250th birthday ball. And for me, I I thank the board members who were able to celebrate that evening. It was just a wonderful opportunity to serve as a guest of honor. Uh I was more impressed with the fact that our JOTC program is currently celebrating their 21st 25th anniversary here at ACS. So that is uh commendable. Let's give them a big round of applause. 25th anniversary. [applause] I want to take an opportunity to talk about our schools because there's some great things happening. Uh I do want to run through the schools and let you know that the KSA celebrated Red Ribbon Week where we had

an opportunity for our students to wear their they celebrate during red day. Uh and it was very interesting to see the kids also celebrate World Kindness Day at Dr. Charles C. Pope. I'm so excited to see their Lion's Den Library again that aligns to the vision 20 2027 uh goal number one where we focus on literacy. So, I'm very excited to see those youngsters participate as well as uh those opportunities. Uh currently our steam machine initiative and our teacher uh training opportunity while teachers are receiving level two certification to operate our steam machine skills such as cricut cricket maker 3D printing laser engraving uh skills that our teachers will be able to utilize for our students to teach them a host of steam skills but also to connect it to potential entrepreneurialship. at Harrison Elementary

School. Those student council members got together and they are currently managing the school store, gaining realworld experience in financial literacy, customer service, and teamwork. I'm also looking forward to Harrison Elementary School invited me to uh record in their new uh podcast uh studio space. So, I'm looking forward to my interview with them next week. Washington Elementary School. They had a wonderful event where they had a Lego based creativity and engineering activity uh in their 21st century program. Uh they're certainly doing some great things and they have also created this thing through via their school nurse where they have wellness Wednesday water challenge, a wellness Wednesday water challenge and that is being held by uh conducted by the school nurse Miss Jones uh Bowser. Uh this is an initiative focused on healthy hydration habits among students

and staff. So I'm looking forward to find out a little bit about the outcomes there. Uh Elvie Moore hosted their harvest dance and as I saw on uh through the uh footage they were a packed house. They were taking advantage of this opportunity for the kids to have uh an opportunity to connect with their peers in a joyful event. So that's certainly another opportunity. Grace World Day students. Uh we had a a number of students in ELA uh can do a compelling project inspired by the book uh Tequila Mockingbird which which is something that I thought was very interesting because they were demonstrating their complex thinking, cultural literacy and meaningful engagement. And at Grace will day uh the they they also had an opportunity to have a visit from the the ACS National Honor Society

which had an opportunity to visit the school and really just connect with the youngsters and prepare them for the experience of becoming high schoolers under the direction of uh Dr. Hartzfield. So certainly we were excited to have them partner with the junior high school and ACS is is focusing on that community goal uh our community engagement goal. They hosted their annual uh creativity and community spirit through Halloween event. They had a haunted house and from the uh experiences and the feedback that I received they it was a packed house and certainly uh lots of horror in the building and I think they found a alumnus uh spirit somewhere in the building. Not sure who it was but they were here. They also had here at ACS their college fair connected to juniors and seniors with

over 50 colleges and universities in their career centers throughout the month. So certainly we are doing great things here at ACS and across all the other schools across the district. If I just give you quickly about our district, we our counseling department hosted a hip event for our families. We had our office of research and assessment conducted the New Jersey field test grades 4 through 12 of the NJSLA. We had our department of visual and performing arts uh uh students who were very active as they prepared for the final program and preparation for the upcoming winter edition of our showcases. So, we're certainly excited. Our prek scholars had an opportunity to visit uh Melik uh farms where they had some apple picking. So, I just wanted to let the public know that our kids are

engaging in a host of wonderful learning experiences in the classroom and outside the classroom. So, we want to thank our our staff and um our students for uh uh just, you know, engaging in these learning experiences. But I also want to put on the record, we have a community event coming up, a historical Thanksgiving tradition will be coming to a close. That is the annual Thanksgiving football game. On November 27th, the Rosal Rams will take the field against Rosal Park Panthers for the final Thanksgiving Day rival game. And just to let you know, this uh game has taken place for over 106 years as a as a tradition and a pride and a rivalry. So, we're talking about 106 year rivalry that will be coming to a close. So, I just really want to invite

the community as a whole to come out to be a part of this historical event. There are lots of things such as uh memorabilia that'll be available, uh coins, uh lanyards, you name it, that will kind of celebrate this. The two teams have a host of events that are leading up to the event showing the community uh uh bonds that have strengthened during this uh tradition. So, I hope to see everyone on Thanksgiving morning coming out to celebrate this wonderful closure to a a a century over a century of spirit. Wow, that sounds strange to say, but a century of spirit. So, just want to encourage everyone to come out and do the math. 106 years minus well, let's see, 2025 minus 106. You will get a sticker if you saw what year did the

very first game begin. And let me just conclude by saying to my board members, thank you for continuing to support the vision. Thank you for your commitment to our scholars. We if and if not all all understand the challenges that come with the role of responsibility that you're charged with. But certainly this superintendent appreciates your collaboration, your your thoughtfulness, and your commitment to this work. And again, I want to thank the Roosevelt community as we continue to do this work. Uh we're going to continue to shift and transcend until we reach that goal. So, I want to thank the board and this community and this really concludes the superintendent's report for this evening. Uh, Madame President, I turn it back over to you. >> Thank you, Dr. Fischer. Um, ma'am, can you take us through

the harassment, intimidation, and bullying reporting for November 2025 incidents? >> Sure. the harassment, intimidation, and bullying investigation report window number one, incidents for the 2526 school year. Incidents, training, and programs for the month of November 2025. Uh for the month of November, we had two incidents at Elvmore School that were reported and investigated. Of those incidences, two of those incidents were were deemed not to be a HI. Grace World Day Junior High School had one incident that was reported and investigated. That incident was concluded as not being a hit. For the month of November, we had a total of three incidents that were investigated. Three of those incidents have been concluded as not being HIPS. This concludes the HIB report for the month of November 2025. >> Thank you, Dr. Fischer. Now we'll hear from

our student representatives. First, Mr. Day Afairy. [clears throat] Try another one. >> Sorry. Good evening everyone. >> Good evening. >> All right, for the month of November, I would like to dive into our elementary school partnerships. Um, it remains strong. We continue to work with Grace Elementary where we visited this past Friday honor society to discuss the importance of maintaining good grades for high school success. Mr. Walker is our main point of contact for these partnerships with the younger schools and he will continue to coordinate our meetings with the elementary schools either via Zoom or in-person visits. Diving into student resources, it was recently [music] brought to my attention as a board representative that a grade school day junior high school student was curious as to their water access in the lunchroom. All schools have

access to water fountains. And while other schools don't sell water during lunch, here at the high school, we have both water and snacks sold in the cafeteria. As for college updates, at the next meeting, we will provide an update on our seniors early college acceptances. We continue to receive notifications from the counseling department concerning um their latest numbers to share. Recently, we all are aware that there was a fire affecting many Rosel residents, including a student here at ACS. We are having a dress down day to raise money for all of those families and our principal, Miss Harry, has prepared 17 Thanksgiving baskets [music] for them. That is all for my end of the report. Thank you. >> Thank you. Uh before we continue, does anyone have any questions for Mr. Afairy? >> Okay, Andrew.

>> Good evening everybody. Good evening. >> As far as the NJGPA updates, we're happy to report that the seniors who retook the NJGPA exam showed significant improvement. Of the students who had not previously passed math and ELA, an additional 38 students passed math after participating in the summer NJGPA tutorial. I can personally attest to its success as I retook the test and achieved a significantly higher score. I just want to give a big thank you to Mr. Mr. Villaina and Mr. Green for their support [applause] for the SAT PSAT scores. Our SAT PSAT scores have been received and we are currently collecting official results from the counseling department. As far as state testing, we are very glad that all state testing is finally complete, allowing teachers to focus fully on instruction and students to attend

all the classes regularly. Lastly, winter sports preparation. As we prepare for winter sports, we are currently asking for a sink to be possibly installed in a trainers room, in a large gym, or in the ice room to facil facilitate easier access to water for soaking, cleaning, and filling water jugs. Thank you. [applause] Before we continue, did anyone have any questions for Mr. Emmy? Okay. Thank you gentlemen for your reports. [snorts] Now may I have a motion and a second to accept and approve governance items and presentations as presented. >> Governance >> second. >> Any further discussion? Seeing that there's no discussion, may I have a roll call, please? There we go. >> Miss Alvin Woodbush. >> Yes. >> Miss Woody. >> Yes. >> Miss B. Mrs. Cortez. >> Yes. >> Miss Santos. >> Yes. >>

Miss Turn. >> Yes. >> Dr. Washington. >> Yes. >> Motion carries. >> Thank you. Now comes the section of the meeting for public comment as mandated by this board's policies. Members of the public who wish to address the board during the public comment portion of this meeting may do so for four minutes. Please come to the microphone. Provide your name and address for the record. When speaking, please address all comments to the board president. Public com [music] public comment is not intended to be a question and answer period. I mentioned it last year and it is the Are we okay? Very one second. Just give me one second. >> We're good. Okay. Hot mic. Um, it's the fall. It's getting darker earlier. Teachers are staying for programs. We still have that lighting issue at the Third Avenue exit of Harrison School. When you come out of the back door, there is a light fixture there. It's not operational. I'm sure it's something to do, you know,

old school wirings, etc. Um, the new parking lot across the street next to the playground, it's also very, very dark. And last night we had three teachers walk out together after conferences. There were a group of um young adults hanging out in the playground. Little unnerving. So, um, some lighting would help if that's something that you could look into. We would appreciate it. And I just wanted to say happy Thanksgiving. >> Thank you. Happy Thanksgiving, Miss Ringle. >> You want my Are there any other public comments? Um 3143A in reference to dismissal. It removes the non-tenure teaching to noncertified. However, is it also supposed to say in the next paragraph, the board may dismiss a non-tenure teaching staff or should that say uh the board may dismiss a noncertified keeping in um keep it in uh consistent. >> This is the first reading, right? The first reading month 4.2. I see they crossed out some verbiage. So, I wanted to see if that non-tenured in the second paragraph non-tenure teaching staff, should

that be um non-certified? >> Let me see if I can pull it up for the attorney. Yeah. 3143. So in that second paragraph where it says the board may dismiss a non-tenure teaching staff member, should that say the board may dismiss a noncertified staff member keeping the consistency in the um in the policy. What policy number you want against? >> All right. Because I just found it. Okay. Gotcha. >> Microphone. >> So you Yes. So what what you're referring to, we got the the policy recommendation non we replace the the verbiage from non-tenure to teaching in the first paragraph and in the third paragraph made the recommendation. But apparently when the uh Strauss made recommendation of new language, they didn't make the correction uh in that second paragraph. So what we can do is note

that uh to stay consistent with all three of the paragraphs that say noncertified. >> Was that the qu that was that was that is a question >> reference to >> consistent this. >> So, we can change this because this is uh first reading. >> So, before we get to second reading, which will be on the next month's agenda, we can we're taking note that we can change the board may dismiss a non-tenure to a noncertified employee. So, we'll make sure that that change is made prior to the adoption in next month's meeting. Sounds good. >> Any further questions? Seeing as there's no further questions, may I have a roll call, please? >> Miss Bush. >> Yes, >> Miss Woody. >> Yes, >> Dr. Atkins. >> Yes. The correction being made in 3143A >> Miss Bond

Mrs. Cortez >> with the correction. Miss Santos. >> Yes. With the correction. >> Yes. [clears throat] >> Dr. Washington. >> Yes. >> Motion carries. >> Thank you. Uh, prior to asking for a motion in a second, we are the superintendent is pulling 5.3 and 5.29 from the agenda. He has pulled that from the agenda. Now, may I have a motion and a second to accept and approve curriculum and instruction items 5.1 through 5.30 with items 5.3 and 5.29 pulled from the agenda. >> Second. Okay. >> Any further discussion? >> Yes. So for um in our committee we did discuss about um you did get back to us Dr. Perez. Thank you. In reference to um and using the the I Ready data scores. So my question there is that because the assessment was made, why

are we still using um the I Ready data? If an assessment was made, is there a reason we're still using that data? >> We use we use data in the lower grade before. And then we use we used the I data in K to 4. And then in the five to eight grades, we also use I ready as our benchmark. So we only use that three times a year. And that data is for progress monitoring where the EXL data gives us more real time data because we can give the um assessments every week or every two weeks and then have targeted skills practice. So because we did the assessment, so that would be real time. So I'm I'm I'm concerned that you didn't use the real time data and you use the I Ready data

instead of you had the real time data of the assessment that was just made. So why would you use the the uh the I Ready data? >> We used the ex we used the I Ready data for sorry we did the I Ready assessments for mathematics. Are we talking about 5 through eight? However, because of all the state testing, when I met with the principles, they didn't want to go another week out with testing because we need the instructional time and we were really pushed back because of all the infrastructure trials and all the testing. So that's why we use the excl for math. I mean the i ready for math because we can fit them into the we can feed them into um don't know how but they can feed them in and they

will tell you where the kids are. I mean there's a white paper on it and everything. ELA they were able to do I ready I mean they were able to do the >> Okay. Thank you. >> So it was timing. It's just too much testing. >> All right. Got you. Thank you. And just to add to add to that our student representative u actually gave a great point about the over assessment that they they were experiencing. So taking in consideration what the teachers were also having to do it was excessive assessment and and kids just want to get to teaching and learning. So I think so those types of decisions happened on in real time in terms of we got to pivot from this because we're spending too much time on the state assessment district

assessment and no teaching happening you know because all that assessment. So those decisions had to be made after you when you see it on paper initially it becomes a challenge of okay it seems like we can make it work but in real time the uh what is the uh testing fatigue that the students experience is something that we were trying to uh minimize. >> Thank you. Are there any further questions? See is there's no further questions. May I have a roll call please? >> Yes. Dr. Atkins. >> Yes. Miss >> Santos. >> Yes. >> Miss [clears throat] Carnage. >> Yes. >> Miss Woody. >> Yes. >> Dr. Washington. >> Yes. >> Motion car. >> Thank you. Prior to as prior to asking for a motion to adjurnn, I just want to remind the community and

the board members that the next monthly meeting of the board of education will be held on Monday, December 15th, 2025. We will begin at 6:00 p.m. We will start uh that will be going to executive session starting the regular portion at 700 p.m. There is no workshop meeting in December 2025. Okay. Now, may I have a motion? >> May I have the moment to speak um to make an announcement, >> Madame President? >> Yes. >> Thank you. This is my moment to shine. >> All right, guys. >> No singing. >> No, no, no, no, no singing. No singing. It has been a pleasure serving as your board member for going on nine years. Next month is my last month as a Rosel board member and sitting in this group of these phenomenal women and going

through superintendent four times starting in 2017 January. I am so proud to say serving my community service and Roseell Board of Education has been a pleasure. um getting a superintendent that I always dreamed of being in charge of the Roselle uh school district from the time I was a teacher in those wait from the time I was a parah in Roselle at Poke under uh Miss Hary's leadership to when I became a teacher in Grace Day for three years until my tenure. Um, this round, this is a round circle fill moment for me to be able to take lemons and make lemonade to be able to become a par teacher to a board member for three consecutive terms. It takes a lot to do community service. It takes a lot to dedicate your time and

not get monetary payment. But it's not the monetary payment that us board members worry about. We're here to literally serve you. We're literally here to serve the students, the parents, [music] the staff, and the list goes on. So, December will be my last board meeting. My president had taken initiative to uh throw me a retirement from the board uh party which I invite you to cuz I know many many parents I know many student you better get ready it's going to be a party. So, I invite all of my fellow teachers that I've worked with, uh, principles and assistant principles that are here, if you're still here after 9 years of me being a board member, all of the students that I have taught going back to 2007 to present in 2025. If you remember

Miss Alvie and Miss Alvie Wingers teaching you there, come out and celebrate. And I want you to watch what good leadership look like. Remember the key words to pay it forward. Whenever you can get an opportunity to put your foot in to help your community and think outside the box, outside of yourself, you know you're going in the right path. So, I invite you December 18th at 6:30 p.m. Put it on the record at the Wellness Suite, 16A East Blanch Blanky Street, Lynon, New Jersey. The cost is $40, but it will be worth your time to celebrate with the Queen. And um with that said, I just wanted to say it was a pleasure to serve Rosal Board of Education for three terms. [applause] Thank you, Mrs. Wes. Key word is pay. The cost is

$40. Um if you need any information, you can reach out to me through my Roso schools email. I do take zone. Thank you. And last up. Okay. Miss Miss Miss Leslie Woody. >> Uh, yes. I just want to make a comment on behalf of the alumni of Abraham Clark High School. Um, I was blindsided like everyone else that we would no longer have the Thanksgiving game. Um, it's been a tradition for many years. Um it's really the alumni game because all the alums would come back and they were very excited to come back every year to to see you know other students. Um I have no idea how the decision was made or who made the decision. Um I would like to uh have information on that and I feel that the community has a

right to know why the game is no longer going to go forward. I I believe there was an article posted in one of the tap into that went into the determination and the discussion. A lot of it from what I read had something to do with the short time between sports for the athletes. It was to give the athlete some time to rest their bodies. We can look like that, but there's we've seen a lot of injuries this year. whether it's in our school or other schools, these kids deserve the best possible um conditions to play in. So, while it may be an alumni game, maybe what the alumni can do is suit up >> and come back and play >> and that may continue that. Um, it had nothing to do from what I

read and we can ask Dr. uh Griffin to give a full explanation, but uh from what I read from and that came out of the Roso Parks AD, it was an article posted in the Roso Park tap into um they said they want their they were getting their teams were getting their students were getting injured. So they do have to take the health and safety of the students in mind between uh athletic sports and when these new seasons start back up because I believe some of them are multiport athletes. >> basketball season is about to start >> the day after Thanksgiving, >> right? So basketball season starts the day after Thanksgiving and many of them are multisport athletes. So they do have to take that into consideration. But I I like I always like an

opportunity if the alumni want to come back, suit up. Get those get those alumni cheerleaders in place. >> That van going. >> Let's go. Let's go. >> I think that's >> I still feel like the community needs to know who made the decision and how it was made. >> Yeah, like I said, we can ask Dr. Griffin to pull that information together and follow up with you. Okay. Key word is pay. It's $40 if you'd like to come out and support us. uh and wishing Miss Alvie Windish well on her next adventure and in philanthropy or uh community service and entrepreneurship as she moves forward. Um with that, I want to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving. Please remember the families who were displaced in the fire on Monday, November 17th. There are dress down opportunities.

there are opportunities to just uh drop clothes off uh make monetary donations as they try to recover their losses. Those homes will be demolished. So they went in on yesterday to get whatever they could after that they those homes are going to be demolished. So please keep them in your thoughts and prayers because as we get ready to celebrate and eat with our families, they are just pulling the things together. And as we get ready to go home and lay down tonight, they are in hotel rooms or shelters. So, I just ask that we all take a minute, take a beat, pause, and see if you have clothing, if you have anything in your homes. They need clothing for men. Uh some of our little kids need clothing, and the men need clothing. Uh one

of the residents said, "You have six tables of clothing for women and one for men." but he took a pair of women's sneakers because he needed them to get to work. So, I'm asking you from size seven and a half on up, if you have men's clothing, shoes, please consider dropping them off. You can reach out to me and I can give you more information on where those things can be taken. So, with that, may I have a motion to adjurnn? >> So, said Albush. >> Thank you. Second. >> All in favor? I >> and we will see you in December. Thank you. Can you drive? [music] >> [music] [music]
