Thank you, and appreciate it. Thank you. Awesome. Going on to the negotiations committee, nothing at this time. Operations committee, do we have anything? Yes, Mr. President. Mr. Mr. Foyle will be presenting that. Yes, the operations committee met Tuesday, May 12th, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. In attendance were Ms. Dredden and Mr. Shaw. Also in attendance were Ms. Chico and Ms. Foyle. >> [cough] >> We discussed the following items: the 2025-2026 budget and capital and other projects that EI uh associates were um
designated to complete. So, we have the HVAC upgrades to schools five and six. That was awarded to Falasca. Both projects are progressing on time. Upgrades to serving lines at the high school cafeteria, which was awarded to Joseph Pereda. That work is also moving along and on time. Construction of the pole barn at the high school campus that was uh Mike Wasney EI Associated Associates. We explored downsizing the project to get it within budget. He has suggested we remove some features and reported that the cost to redesign the structure would be approximately $20,000. Mr. Peace, Ms. Lane, Mr. Morello, and myself met on Tuesday morning to discuss the project. Uh new locations being considered and the site will be staked out and we'll bring EI back in once the scope has been more clearly defined. [cough]
We have the upgrade HVAC [clears throat] at the middle school main office. Uh the project's essentially complete. We're just waiting for closeout documents from the awarded vendor so that we can make the final payment and get the documents on hand. Uh number two, uh LAN has submitted the high school HVAC project to the office of the state comptroller for review and approval. We did receive their response. Um LAN was working on it. There were uh he made some revisions and there's a few more uh that he is suggesting we need the attorney. Um So, Craig >> Call come my way. Yeah. >> [laughter] >> Dr. Email. Um the upgrade uh to the middle school HVAC project, that money is budgeted uh and it still needs to be submitted to the of education for the approval.
LAN is also handling that project. Uh new playgrounds at schools 1 through 6. Consulting and Municipal Engineers, now known as Archeon, is in charge of this project. We're still waiting for playground designs and bid specs, but we really have to get that out by June 30th. Um replacement of the marquees uh at the middle school and high school are installed. They look great and now it's on between high school and the middle school. Uh the 2026-2027 budget will be made available shortly to district staff so they can enter their uh data orders for materials needed um in the 2026-2027 school year, and this is to make sure that they're here before the students return in September. And financial disclosure forms, we completed all of our forms uh on time. And let me tell you the
last day one got kicked out, I called the girl said, "What?" Cuz I couldn't find anything, and she went back and looked at it and approved it, so we were uh free and clear. So, I want to thank everybody for all of their efforts. Our meeting adjourned at 5:57, and our next meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026. Phenomenal, there are a lot of capital improvements going on. That's always good to hear when you're trying to upgrade our schools so we can better educate our children. Phenomenal. Now, we're down to the policy. Yes, I just have a quick question with [laughter] regards to the um the um operations committee report. On number five where we talk about replacement of the marquees, um thinking with regard with regards to, you know, reaching out, better way to
market ourselves since we have two, you know, digital marquees now, um the events that I talked about, that the marketing committee talked about, um that basically take place over the summer, you know, Juneteenth, July, and family day. Could we advertise those events since we're going to have tables there um uh on the marquees? Is that possible, Mr. Peace? That's not a problem. Oh, good. All right, Mr. Peace, you're the marketing guru now. >> [laughter] >> All right, we're going on to where we at now. We're down here at policy. Is there anything on the policy committee? Yes, um policy committee um met today at um 6:00 p.m. Uh Mr. Davis, Mr. Peace, Ms. Clement, Ms. Nuevas, Ms. Clinton, and myself. uh Uh we went over um policy 0000.01 as the introduction of um regulations, 00000.02,
another introduction regulations and bylaws, and 0000 bylaws. Um also 0142, um board member qualifications prohibited acts and code of ethics mandated, um 0142.1, nepotism um policy um 2365, acceptable use of general artificial intelligence. We tabled that one until we um establish a plan for AI, and then we'll come back to the policy. Um policy 5860, safety patrol mandated. There are some uh couple updates or um changes on it, and once it's changed, it will come back to where um we we present it. Also, policy 7446, school security program. As well, there has been some changes to that one, and uh Mr. Davis is going to update those policies. And regulations 9270, home school and equivalent education outside of school. Um we pulled that one up um and looked at it, and we also looked at
it. That's a regulation, and we looked at the policy, and we're going to ensure that the policy matches the regulation. Um and policy 9541, student teacher inter- um interns. Um another There's a couple minor changes that um or additions to that policy, um and then we will have a first reading, and it will be ready for us next week. Outstanding. >> meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m. Outstanding. Love to hear it. Great Great report there, Ms. Broad. Uh going on to the technology committee. Mr. Clark, we got anything on technology? Yes, sir. Let's hear it. We met virtually May 4th at 5:30. It was myself, Ms. Nuevas, and Mr. Peace. Uh we heard the positive report that we didn't have any technology issues during the current testing period. So, that was good news. Uh we got
an update on the audit and can expect a presentation to the board here in the future once they conclude that. Uh we discussed the devices and distribution, damage plan for the summer, different things like that. And there'll be some collaboration with the education committee when it comes to some of the plans that we need to make for that. We did discuss AI policy and the need for that. that was referenced also by Miss Cloud. Uh we discussed cell phone pouches and the plan moving forward. Uh Mr. Piz has been talking with administration and has a good plan in place. And uh just kind of discussed some of those details there. And then we did discuss our move to the uh high school auditorium for the previous board meeting and then some of how that went
and some future potential improvements to always be improving. So. >> Good. Good. It's good to hear about the collaboration going on between the committees. Great stuff there. Collaboration. Very pleased to hear about your work. Uh Miss Craddock, anything on the economic development committee council? >> have anything to report Mr. Chairman. Uh the Mr. Matthews is not here. He has no updated reports. Uh Mr. Shaw, the representative is not here. He has no updated report. Anything from this Adopt-a-School Board representative reports? Oh, well. Um You got something Miss Vick? Just something briefly with regards to our little ones. Okay, let's hear it. We'd like to hear from the little ones. >> Um uh they are having their end of the year showcase on May 15th which is Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. And uh
it's at the uh Early Childhood Education Center. Uh the students will share what they have learned today. And then there's a field day activities from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00. You're all been invited. Great stuff. All right. Anyone else? I have [snorts] school five. Go ahead Miss Miller. Uh so, the chorus and orchestra concerts they had theirs April 28th. Uh they did an amazing job. It's always kind of sad to see the the sixth graders moving on, but I'm sure they'll be in great hands at the middle school as well since we have such an amazing music department. Um, School 5 also had its annual marathon that I think has been going on for as long as I can remember, so at least 15 years. Um, so the sixth graders had a a track to run
around their school for 60 minutes, fifth grade did 50 minutes, fourth grade did 40 minutes, and and they hung in there cuz they're not allowed to walk. They've got to at least uh keep moving, so Miss Sass and and everyone there they always do a a great job uh having the kids motivated to finish that. Um, they also had their People's Choice Awards uh this past Monday, so 30 students were recognized and they were um had their their ceremony. Uh teachers recommended them. And again, it's another nice send-off for when we're sending our best to write us off to the middle school. Uh let's see. Mr. Uh Dr. Carroll also wanted to note the heartfelt thanks to the HSA team. Uh they did teachers luncheons, they had a donut truck. I mean, it they do
a really good job. HSA, I can't tout it enough. And also to note that the entire HSA uh [snorts] leadership team is moving on from School 5. So, yeah. >> [laughter] >> I'm very sad about this, but they're all moving on. Uh so, we definitely need [clears throat] new blood at School 5, and they actually have their HSA meeting this coming Monday at 6:30 p.m. at School 5, so I can't any parents from Schools uh 2 and 4 who may be moving up to 5, please come check them out cuz we need all the help we can get. Um, NJSL testing has started. They just had day two today. Um, everything that I've heard is positive so far. Kids seem to be doing great, no issues there. Um, and of course, the reminder, make sure
they go to bed, not up till 3:00 a.m. on the phone and group chats, uh eat breakfast, all the things. I just got some of the funny reminders from from my child's teacher to make sure they were going to bed on time. So, I figured I would pass that along. Um book fair will be happening the week of May 18th to the 21st. Uh interim report cards go home May 22nd. Oh, May 20th, they will have their Renaissance happening. So, gold, green, and and regular uh card members will have different levels of events happening there. Just something to You know, the kids who are getting either straight A's, A's and B's, things of that nature, attendance. Um field day is June 3rd, and their sixth grade promotional ceremony is June 16th. That's all I have.
Thank you, ma'am. We really appreciate you taking uh the lead down at School 5 and reporting back on stuff. I did learn a lot of things down there. So, I always appreciate you. All right, let's just what I have one for School 3. Go ahead. >> At School 3 last week, they did a mothers mothers day little breakfast with the parents with the mothers for mothers day to celebrate, and the feedback that I received from that, the parents had a lovely lovely lovely time, and um next on June 6th, I believe it is, they're going to be doing it for the fathers for the superheroes. So, the fathers will be able to eat breakfast with their children. And also on June 7th, they'll be having their spring concert, their final concert of the year. And
that's it for School 3. Thanks a lot there, Mr. Paul. Really appreciate it. I got a little little letter that our uh Ms. Lori Kelly wanted to just wanted me to share. Seem like School 4 been testing for the last 2 months, so we're going to talk about it a little bit. School 4 has been diligently working on completing the end of the year testing, and we are seeing excellent growth across all grades. Kindergarten through second grade students have finished the I-Ready diagnostic for English language arts. Every grade that completed the I-Ready diagnostic for reading scored in the high growth and high performance range. Third grade students completed the NJSLSA last week will be taking the i-Ready diagnostic next week. I want to make take a a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to our
incredible teachers at school number four. Your dedication and hard work throughout the year have led to the remarkable academic achievements and for that we are truly thankful. I'm excited to announce that our upcoming facility meeting will be a chance for us to come together and have some fun. We will have some cornhole tournaments on June 3rd, 3rd, 3rd and June 4th. And that's Miss Lori Kelly at school four. >> [laughter] >> I just want to take some time now to acknowledge we have Ward 3 committeeman Ray Washington in the house tonight. >> [applause] >> And we have our phenomenal chief of police in the house tonight and Mr. Donald Adams. It's all love to see you here. It's going to be collaborative. We're going to move on now to page number three superintendent report. I'm
going to be looking for a motion to approve the superintendent report that starts on the top of page three and goes all the way to the top of page seven. Can I get a motion? Mr. President, I move that we approve the superintendent's report as it as it appears beginning at the top of page three and continuing through to the bottom of page six. Yeah, I'll second. Any questions? Yes, I had one question on item number 26, page six. Um what those curriculum updates were for the 2025-2026 school year. I'm sorry, page what? 26. Page 26. Page 26. Page 26, number 26. >> 836 And your question again, I'm sorry. Just what the updates were for for our 25-26 [snorts] uh curriculum. Miss Cummings, do you have the updates on it? I do. So, um
as you know, we're in Q-SAC review, and we got some preliminary results from our Q-SAC review, and before um the county office comes on the 28th, they said to us um in anticipation of their review, if there are some things that we reviewed or updated before they came and had board approved, we could then make those changes and give them to them before our final review on the 28th. So, we put on there the updates because there are some updates in a couple different [snorts] areas, and I wanted to make sure that we had board approval to make those updates and submit them ahead of that visit on the 28th. Thank you, sir. Roll call. Mr. Clark? Yes. Miss Stratton? Yes. Miss Floyd? Yes. Miss Martin? Yes. Miss Neather? Yes. Miss Pitts? Yes. And Mr.
Thomas? >> Yes. The motion has carried. We're at the top of page seven, business administrator secretary report. Looking for a nomination to approve that report that starts at the top of page seven and goes all the way through 3/4 on page 11. Mr. President, I move that we approve the business administrator board secretary's report as it appears beginning at the top of page seven and continuing through to the bottom of page 11. I have a second. Any questions? Roll call. Mr. Clark? Yes. Miss Stratton? Yes. Miss Floyd? Yes. Miss Martin? Yes. Miss Neather? Yes. Ms. Pitts? Yes. And Mr. Thomas? Yes. The motion has carried. I'm at the top of page seven, the personnel report. I'm looking for a motion to approve to approve the personnel report that starts at the page at top of
page seven. But that That's 12. 12. Top of number 12, top of page 12. All the way to page 21 to the bottom. Mr. President, I move that we approve the personnel report as it uh stated in our agenda beginning at the top of page 12 and continuing through to the bottom of page 21. Yeah, I second. Any questions? Roll call. Mr. Clark? Yes. Ms. Drayton? Yes. Ms. Gallaway? Yes. Ms. Martin? Yes. Ms. Nieves? Yes. Ms. Pitts? Yes. And Mr. Thomas? Yes. Motion has carried. So at this time I think uh it would be a a great honor to uh recognize our new football coach uh Winslow Township High School. I thought it would be fitting that the board got the first opportunity to meet Coach Jamal White. Coach Jamal. >> [applause] >> Along with
Coach White, uh we have uh Coach Gallaway who will be uh assisting in some capacity. >> [laughter] >> Again, we have uh Coach Gallaway who will be assistant coach uh White in some capacity. Uh Uh we're hoping he'll be the special coordinator, uh but that approval come in the next uh board meeting. So, congratulations and welcome to the uh Winslow Township Eagle family. Thank you. Thank you. Thank And we say that because now it's time to vote to make sure that this happens and we're going to be going to an addendum. This is the second week in a row we had an addendum, but they've been two very important items. So, we're going to go right now to the pink page with the personnel report on the addendum. And I'm looking for a motion to
approve this pink page personnel report addendum that starts on page one and goes to the second page all the way to the bottom. Can I get a motion? Any questions? Roll call. Mr. Clark. Yes. Ms. Drayton. Yes. Ms. Floyd. Yes. Ms. Martin. Yes. Ms. Nieves. Yes. Ms. Pitt. Yes. And Mr. Thomas. Yes. Motion has carried. Welcome, sir. So, we're Thank you. Thank you. I APPRECIATE IT. >> [applause] >> ALL RIGHT, LET'S OKAY. >> [clears throat] >> THAT'LL BE NEXT. WE'RE NOW GOING TO THE OPEN open public recordings act. Ms. Ford, do we have anything? We have none to report this evening,
sir. Any informational items? I will do. Take your time. So, the month of May is a very important month in education. We like to recognize our teachers and our nurses for the hard work, dedication, and sacrifice that they make throughout the year for our young people, uh sacrificing their own families at times to give to our young people here in Windsor. So, thank you to all of our teachers and nurses for all that they do. Again, state testing is underway. I'd like to uh recognize Mr. Aponte and his team for the hard work of troubleshooting any issues that may come up that he has presented to uh keep uh testing uh and it's probably getting interrupted. So, thank you uh Mr. Aponte and his team. Uh we're also like as Clement said, preparing for Q-SAC.
Uh this will be a visit from our county DOE and they will look through all that we do. So, we've been preparing for that and I have confidence that we will be successful. >> [snorts] >> Also like to talk about some programming I I I've been mentioning since the budget season how we need to look at the budget in the in regard to special ed and Ms. Clement and myself had a meeting with a company that is familiar to the district already about a transition program that we will be looking into to help bring some of our students who are out of district back into district to help alleviate some of the cost of special ed budget. So, that is something that we are taking serious and we're going to continue to move in uh
the right direction to help bring these students back but to make sure that we have the right resources here in Winslow to accommodate these students. Uh I have I attended the Camden County College Partners Dinners Dinner and it was a great way for Winslow to be represented and network with Camden County College. It was an opportunity for us to >> [clears throat] >> uh be thanked for allowing the college to come into our schools and to support us and also to thank Camden County College for all the support that they provide to our students. At the middle school, Rowan University's Vice President Bob Bullard and Vice Chancellor of Admissions Jeff Gant met with our middle school students. It was an opportunity to share with our middle school students the college process and get the college
process processed in their minds at an early age. So, we're going to look to connect with all of our college partners to come in and and just speak with our young people as early as possible to establish a foundation of college and college preparedness as they move forward towards high school. Had the honor of being invited to Rowan University's College of Education Commencement Exercises. Another great opportunity to represent Winslow Township. I was proud to be the representative on stage with the Dean and other professors at Rowan. Of course, I didn't know if we had any students that were graduating, but I hope that if they were, they are moving on to bigger and better things thanks to their education at Rowan University. Also like to recognize Mr. Ingram. Mr. Ingram has been doing a phenomenal
job with the Studio 106 and the TV production program. They placed third in the NFL Films competition for their documentary Underdog. This documentary can be viewed on our YouTube page. We're looking to also add it to our Facebook and Instagram page as well. But, the work that Mr. Ingram and his students are doing in that program is second to none. Also like to congratulate the board for your hard work to become a certified board. We attended the board certification spring county meeting for the New Jersey School Boards Association and Winslow Township was Uh, one of the school districts, one of two school districts that were uh recognized for their hard work to become a certified board. So, congratulations. And that concludes my uh report this evening. Thank you. Also, I just want to add also
uh Ms. Rebecca Noe has received her uh certified board members that day. Uh Lorraine Gratton received her 15-year certification. And Ms. Pitts was it 15 or 20? 20. 20. I think 20. For Ms. Pitts for her hard work and service here in within the community. Good job. Thank you. IT'S A WONDERFUL JOB. >> [applause] >> MOVING RIGHT ALONG TO OPEN IS WILL THERE BE any old business? >> [clears throat] >> How about new business? Any new business? Uh Mr. President. Go ahead. Can I go back to informational items? Sure, go right ahead, Mr. Um for informational items, there's things that's happening out in the community. Um Winslow League football team is on digital uh uh backpack for registration for cheerleading and football. Um also um June 6th, there will be a networking with the community
business with business owners and nonprofit of Winslow Township. It will be a brunch breakfast. Um and right afterwards, it will be a home buyers workshop again. We had a home buyers workshop last month. And the people that came out it was the title um agents, uh credit um uh personnel, uh realtor, um It was a few people that came out when when you're trying to buy a home. So, it they're not there to solicit clients. They're there to give you information on how to be a first-time home buyer and all the programs that are out there for investors. Um so, everyone is welcome. It's going to be at the VFW starting at 10:00 a.m. in the morning um for first for the networking with the community. And then right we'll fall right into the um
workshop. And then at the VFW on um June the 27th, um they're going to be having a parking lot fundraiser um for the VFW. Um they're going to have social services there, they're going to have social security there, um vet services, they're going to have expansion lawyers there. Um all this is free for you to come out and participate and help us raise money to build a um help the vets the veterans build a bigger parking lot um around the building so that we can hold more events at the VFW. And the home buyers workshop will be there again that day to give out more information for people. Um and that concludes my information for the community. Thank you so very much, Ms. Really appreciate it. Any old business? Um Is that Anyone? Any new
business? I just had a request and um Mr. P or Ms. Clements, can we give a plug to our extended school year programs? I know some of those permission slips are going out and parents have questions and we want to get them rolling out. Sure. So, >> [snorts] >> um there are students being invited to our uh summer enrichment program, which will be held again at school for this year. If you remember, we had a hiatus last year. Um so, um the principals are working hard sending out invitations to their students. And we're looking to have um we're looking to invite 180 students to our program this year. Um We're not there. So, we're looking for responses. We want to make sure parents know that this is a free program that, you know, you don't
have to go outside of the community to to pay for tutoring. It's free and it's with certified teachers. So, we're excited to offer this program, but we need our students to participate. And transportation is provided, too. And transportation. Outstanding. Um I have one more. Outstanding. Outstanding. Um yes, um and I did forget. The village of Camden County had a prom send-off from the Chiselhurst Recreation Center last week with our Winslow Township students. It was beautiful. So, what we did, we opened it up to the community for people who did not have send-offs. The decorations and everything in their yard. And so, we had families come out and got to participate. And we had three backdrops set up for the prom um um seniors and juniors that went to the prom at the Brigalias. And they
were overly excited. And we had space for a few of them to get on the sprinter with the the the selected students that we honored this year. So, we do it again next year. We're going to now open it up where we're going to just open up to the community for anyone who don't have the expenses to buy all that balloons and stuff to do backdrops. Where we're going to have like five backdrops and people can just come and do pictures and do backdrops there at the on the village of Camden County. Great [clears throat] stuff there, Mr. Really appreciate you with the work you're doing in the community. Really appreciate it. All right, we're going to move on down to public comments. Yes. Thank you, Mr. President. The Winslow Township Board of Education highly
values the input of citizens in making important decisions that affect the children of our community. We also believe in the rights of citizens to observe board meetings. To ensure that all of our citizens have the opportunity to attend school board meetings and also comment. And to ensure that the board can conduct the important business of the district. We ask that the speakers follow the guidelines [snorts] for making public comments. Rotation of public comments on agenda items. The board president or board secretary will recognize those individuals in the audience who wish to make comment. Please respect the following procedures. Number one, all members of the public attending school board meeting must treat each other and the board with respect. Number two, state your full name and town. Number three, please limit your comments to four minutes.
Number four, submit your questions to the Board of Education with your name, address, and telephone number where you can be contacted. [clears throat] Your questions will be answered within a reasonable time. And number five, individuals offering citizen comment are not permitted to make personal attacks on any district employee, board member, other testifier, or member of the public. So, with that, we would need a motion to open up public comment, Mr. President. Thank you. Looking for a motion to open up public comment. I move, Mr. President, that we open up the meeting to public comment. Yeah, I'll second. All in favor? Aye. [clears throat] Aye. It's [snorts] approved. Um no one has signed up to speak this evening, Mr. Ponte, anybody virtually? No. So, nobody has signed up to But I would like to take this
time, if I not to put you on the spot, Coach White, if you could just kind of introduce yourself to the board. We know you as Coach White, but just give us a little bit about your background, and uh you know, what we can expect coming in this school year. Coach, how many championship coaches you got? >> [laughter] >> Um well, first, my name is Jamal White. As I you know me as Coach White, but Jamal White. Um you know, I told the players and and the people where actually my foundation was in in Winslow. So, I actually started teaching and mentoring in Winslow. So, it's it's a blessing to be back here to be able to give back in another capacity, you know. You know, Khalil Blowe was one of the guys that I
first started working with as a coach. Um some of the guys you might know is Brandon Jones and Brandon Cross and some of the guys you see on the wall, things like that. So, >> [clears throat] >> it's definitely a blessing to be back here doing that. Um as far as the championship caliber guy that I you know Mr. Thomas is is asking about, I have coached at Timber Creek and Woodbury High School, where I have actually had seven state championships. So, yeah, I know. I'd like to meet him, bro. >> [laughter] >> That's the thing. So, we're going to bring that culture um over. Actually, it's it's been a great foundation here, a great culture. One thing I always said is Windsor's always been a winning program. The standard is winning and that's one
of the things we're going to continue to do. We're going to continue to win. One of the things I want to definitely embed in the kids is that we are we are men first. We're not just football players, but we're men. So, we're going to take that aspect into the classrooms, we're going to take that aspect into the community. And then we're also going to go on the field and do what we have to do on the field as well. And that will make the teams we go against, but at the end of the day it's going out, going to college, graduating, being able to stand in front of people like [clears throat] yourselves and then go into interviews and present themselves well, shaking hands, looking people in the face, looking them in the eye,
and doing things the right way. So, we continue to bring a shining light upon the community, upon the program, upon Windsor Unified School District. So, that's my purpose, that's my goal, and that's what we're going to come do starting this year. Sounds good. >> THANK YOU. >> [applause] >> ALL RIGHT. SO, I'M LOOKING FOR A MOTION TO CLOSE PUBLIC COMMENT. Motion to close public comment. Yeah, there's a second. All in favor? Aye. Any executive session tonight? Nothing for me, Mr. President. All right, I'm looking for a motion to adjourn this meeting. Motion to adjourn. Yeah, there's a second. Roll call? >> [laughter] >> All in favor? All in favor? No, closing the meeting is Oh, well, I thought it >> [laughter] >> They told me we were we were going to do it. We got
to Which one you want to do? No, just all in favor. All in favor? Aye. Aye. Meeting adjourned. That's it.
