Continue to share accomplishments of Winsow students in all student activities. Thank you so much. Awards and presentations. Can we have any? Yes. So tonight we are recognizing the accomplishments of some phenomenal student athletes and I would like to present them with a certificate of achievement and I'm going to call the names out. But before we get started, the Winslow elite boys football team has won a national championship. Uh these young men competed regionally uh in the state of New Jersey and then were able to uh uh move along to compete nationally and had success. They they came
home winners and we are uh thankful for their efforts and we hope that they continue to uh put one academics first, two uh continue to make good choices and take care of themselves and we look forward forward to them uh coming to the high school and uh displaying those same type of skill sets that they displayed as champions at this level. So I'll start with uh uh Anthony Aeen. Is Anthony here? Uh, how about Raymond Baker? Uh, Tyrone Bas. >> Hey, Tyrone. >> O line. Congratulations. >> Congratulations. >> Terron Burks Jr. Dashan Bolton, Amari Bowens, Matthew Bowens, Devon Broton, Congratulations, sir. >> Congratulations. >> What position? linebacker. >> I wonder who else played linebacker. >> Thomas Brown. 006Uhoh. Uhoh. Uhoh. Uhoh. Nel, baby. N. You shouldn't be kissing a player. >> Darius Harrison Jr. CONGRATULATIONS, SIR. >> Elijah Holmes, Leavon Jackson, Caleb Lac Lackey, LJ Lundy. He got his ring. >> All right. Show me your ring. >> Uhoh. >> All right. Eli McCra, Carter Ming, Aiden Miller, Marcus Moore, Christopher Okora, Ethan Perry, Messiah Royster, Kuran Stephanie, Kaiden Taylor, Ashir Thompson Thompson. Come get it, baby. Come get it. >> Congratulations, sir. >> Very good. >> And finally, and last but not least, is Zion Washington. uh for me. >> Also like to recognize the uh coaches who uh basically give up their time to be here with these uh these young students and really instill in them character traits that are lil lasting. you know, things that they're going to need once they move on
to high school and to adulthood. And I I know the work of uh volunteering and work that coaches do and they should be appreciated for the time that they sacrifice of their own families to be out there for other families and for other children and you know teaching teaching great skills and you know I had you know privilege of working with a few of them. So, I'd like to recognize uh all of them. >> Uh Kil Glo >> Wes Hall of Famer Hall of Famer. >> Uh, Coach Thomas Brown's not here. Coach Matthew Bowens, Anthony Claude, Coach Shere, and for Share to be a coach, I'm like so proud. You know, I had to coach Khil and Sheree when I was uh an assistant coach here on Winslow many years ago. and you know see
these gentlemen you know grow up to be coaches and they give back like that you know phenomenal athletes and it's to drive us crazy out there but uh now they're uh great coaches I love that Darius HARRISON sir job well Coach Michael McCra, Coach Casmir Okoro, and Coach Michael Perry and Coach Thomas Brown. Did I call him Coach Matthew Bowens? So yeah, I just want to thank you guys for what you do for these young people and I know uh the time it takes to be a winner and you know I know you give up a lot of time and long days and long nights to prepare them. So thank you for all that you're doing taking care of our young people. >> I wanted to bring the president of the association up here, Miss
Christina Harrison. CONGRATULATIONS. >> Was a Hall of Famer, too. >> Oh, the Hall of Famer. >> Hall of Famer. Okay. >> Without her putting all the administrative stuff for all these guys, the success for the national championship and going down to the national championship. She was busting her behind making sure it happens for these young folks. So, we got to always remember that the president of the association works just as hard as all the coaches and all the players. So thank you for acknowledge and recognizing them. >> Okay, next we'll have uh Dr. Nigel Black from New Horizon Now program present his organization to uh us in the community. How's everybody doing tonight? >> Wonderful. >> My name is Dr. Nigel Black. This is Richard Antinucci, our executive director. I founded New Horizon Now. And
um we have a friend with us also, Mark Silverstein. Dr. Mark Silverstein, who is a consultant and works with us as well. So um New Horizon Now is an organization that we started just four years ago. um because we just wanted to give back to the community to be very honest. We just wanted to give back to the community and we wanted to do everything we could to invest in the kids of the community. And so we set out to uh create a program that would um offer educational supports and mental health supports to the kids of our community. And I'm very thankful that you know some four years later um we're still around. We're thriving and we're hoping very much to partner more and more with the district. So, with that said, I'm not
sure if uh presentation wise if we're able to PPT. If we're not, that's fine as well. >> Mike, can you pull that up? Mike, >> it's >> Yeah, there you go. Just kick us to the next one. Hey, I'm so sorry. Can you flip to the next slide, please? >> Um, so we serve a lot of different students um providing them with um academic support, mental health support, um and even we're working towards being able to provide music lessons. Um our programming specifically though academically focuses on math, science, reading proficiency. Um we also offer um affordable tutoring options um in some cases even free but almost always reduced. Um and we are offering our services as an afterchool program. >> I do want to reiterate what Richard said there. um we are largely grant subsidized.
So what we're trying to do is offer either absolutely free or extremely reduced um services to the kids. And so whether those we'll talk more about it in a minute, but whether those services be more in an afterchool program or something like that, that obviously would be something we would do free to the student. Um we also have different levels of tutoring that we do, but um we'll talk more about that later. Our mission is to provide affordable highquality educational supplements and mental health supports. Um we do academic tutoring, we do skill building, we do steam enrichment. Um we do social emotional development and confidence and we do mental health um uh services. We do our best to render mental health services. Um, our programs are led by certified licensed educators and therapists. And I
would say that, you know, in terms of like our specialty or what makes us unique is is that we believe that education really does need to meet with those mental health needs. And so we spend time with the kids, not just teaching them math or science, but teaching them math and science and also doing our best with uh confidence and um social skills and all kinds of things like that. Um uh like I was saying earlier, we um are our whole point is to be accessible to the whole community. So much of what we offer is free. Um, our two biggest challenges I would say is first off getting the word out. It's just been, you know, just getting the word out. We're a small organization. Lots of people don't know that we're around despite
the fact that we serve 350 students a year for the last three years. We've we've achieved that. Um, but a lot of people still don't know we're around. And our other biggest challenge, which we'll talk about more later, is that of transportation. It's just, you know, we we're very centrally located. We're right there where the um Family Success Center, Orchards, um Wells Fargo, um we're right there. Um so we are kind of located right there, but um lots of times people feel like they can't get the kids there um for whatever reason. So that's something that we want to talk more about in a moment. >> Um since I've been running specifically, we just did confidence academy. Um we provide like I said academics so math reading um organization confidence building but parents have usually
um come to us because they have a student that's dealing with something in particular. So, a lot of times I'm working with students to help build them up if they need help with something like reading or math. And I've been able to ideally use the program and complement it with whatever they're learning in school so that they can take the skills that they're learning within, in this case, confidence academy, take them to school and ideally help them raise their grade there. Um, so parents come to us uh usually because they have a student that or a child that's struggling in one specific area and ideally we can help bring them up in whatever that area is. >> Um, as Richard said, we do different kinds of programming depending on the time of year and just
what is needed. Um, so, uh, we're kind of focusing tonight on afterschool programming, but we do, um, just individual tutoring and some other things as well. But with our afterchool programming in particular, um, we really do focus heavily on reading, science, and math, and really uh, focusing on making sure that the fundamentals are together on those things. And we also really want to um one of the reasons why we're here today is is because we want to partner with the district. We want to understand better what the school day learning is so that we can help just simply reinforce that and support the homework completion um and help build study skills and learning habits and so forth in a safe structured environment. um for our kids. >> Um so for the past three months that
we ran our last uh program, Confidence Academy, the way that I have it structured is that when they come in, there's going to be a check-in, but it's actually based in SEAL. um and they don't even realize it, but we're building conversation skills and confidence skills and things that they can take with them ideally from confidence academy that will help them have a better learning experience at school among their peers. Um then we're going to have targeted small groupoup academic instruction. So if I have kids and they all have homework that they need to get done, that'll be the priority. And then there will be some kind of overarching lesson. So, it'll be either a math lesson, a reading lesson, um, or something, um, that's like based in confidence building in the arts. Um, again,
we do study skills, organization skills, teaching kids how to keep track of their homework, just things that will help them and, you know, build them up when they're actually here in school. Um, there's optional enrichment only after core academic work is completed. So, we've done stuff like aird dry clay projects and like things that are really art based um so that they have an opportunity to express themselves and it doesn't just feel like school day part two. Um ideally, it's a place where they can, you know, grow and become better students, but it isn't necessarily a place where it's like, okay, I'm back in school and they're feeling even more drained. It's a place where they can express themselves and grow and feel enriched. Um, but it is consistently structured so that students know what
to expect. As I was saying earlier, uh, we really aim to align our instruction with school day learning. Um, and we really look to focus on foundational skills and as Richard was saying, we try to combine that with the arts. We are very aware of how hard it is to do arts and music and stuff like that in the public setting. Um and so we want to do everything we can to infuse those things um into our kids learning experience. Uh we adjust instruction based upon observation and student need. Um we have the unique ability to differentiate. So, you know, we can um put more helpers um involved in stuff so that we can keep the student to uh the student toteer ratio or instructor ratio um quite low. Um giving kids the individual attention
that they need. Um we've been observing here here we are in 2026 and um you know kids are still you know coming out of COVID in some regards. uh co really set our you know all of our communities behind quite a bit and so we're just trying to do our best um to do our part to help make up for that lost ground. I think of one kid in particular who had a very difficult situation. They had moved from somewhere in the south up here and in that move ended up out of school completely for a year and a half. Kid was in fifth grade um reading on a third grade level. Um, no, I'm sorry. Reading on like a second grade level. And thankfully um with some really um intense tutoring, we're able to
get him up to grade level in about two or three months. And that's just one of the success stories that we've been able to um share with you. Uh because, you know, everybody needs help at some point. every kid, you know, needs attention and sometimes there it's more attention than we can offer them in a traditional classroom setting. And so we're really glad to be there and available for um kids that need help um to get up to speed or to advance further. Um, like I'd mentioned earlier, enrichment is a big part of what we do. Um, along with arts, we've just brought an instructor on who is specifically based in teaching steam activities. Um, and it goes from Legos to programming to we have architecture stuff that they're adding in. So ideally, we're, you
know, we're helping them academically, but we're also growing their interests and what they might be foreseeing as a future for themselves as they progress through school. Um the the program, we're always there for the kids. Participation is flexible. We have parents who are um completing all kinds of different jobs on all kinds of different schedules. So, we always make it clear that we're here for them if they want to come. Um it's not required that they're there every single day. Um but the message that we're trying to get across is that along with being academic, we're enrichment based and this doesn't in any way kind of um replace schooling, but it only enhances it. >> And in terms of just kind of again our hallmark, the uniqueness of us is we try to approach education
from a little more of a holistic model. um understanding that kids learn best when they are um not only uh worked with but when they are comfortable you know so we noticed that for instance some kids academic struggles not sure what that is it's not changing um we've noticed that some kids academic struggles are not so much about just the instruction ruction, but about the fact that they've gone through a very difficult home situation or they're being bullied or something's happening in their life and they're just they're having emotional difficulties. And so we we want to do our best to speak to them and help them and um help them get to a point where where they can regulate their emotions and so forth. We've also noticed on the other end when certain kids um
have difficulties on the mental health side of things that academics often fall behind, you know, and so we've noticed these things kind of track together. So that's why we do our best to um deliver options on both sides of the bus, so to speak. Um programming um that intentionally builds persistence and self- relief. um positive peer interaction um helping them just to learn how to interact with each other well. I mean, you know, and get their head out of the phone. Uh giving them a good sense of safety and belonging. Um and and I would just say in conclusion to this to this slide, you know, confident students tend to engage more fully um in terms of the the work and the academic part of things. Right. And the the value that we hope to
be able to add is that we create a program here with you guys that um has a student body that's continually growing with that's engaged with us that have um community members and students that are excited to participate. Um, as a staff, we're always reflecting based on what we can learn from the family members that communicate with us so that we can make it better, not just for the students, but in terms of creating something that is uh community- based. Um, the value that we hope to add to Winslow is that we are extending the learning time for students in a way that isn't a burden to them or the staff. um that we're able to help reinforce students learning again without making it feel as though they're just trapped in school for a longer
amount of time. We're ideally giving them skills that they can take to the classroom that enhances their classroom experience. Um and overall hopefully we are able to strengthen the relationship we have with Winslow. So in conclusion to all of this, we come here today just literally to present ourselves to you all as as potential partners. We want to learn more. We want to be an extension of what you are accomplishing. We in no way want to work, you know, against or at odds. We just want to be an extension. We feel like, you know, there's not enough money, there's not enough human resources to go around and we just want to kind of add to the solution here. We are fully committed, we are fully and completely committed to transparency, communication, and alignment. And we
really do deeply respect the district and the institutional boundaries. And it's for those reasons that we want to explore a pilot program where we perhaps bring after school services on site to a school or a number of schools or um if there's a way to work transportation to us. Um but either way, um we're just looking to start that conversation and understand better how we can be a trusted partner for the district. So I'm not sure if it's appropriate for questions or whatever, but our time is well spent. >> If you can have just one more moment. Good evening everybody. I'm Dr. Mark Silverstein. a recovering superintendent. I mean, having done it for 35 years, Bridgton, Glboro, Hannesport, Salem, and I first met Dr. Black over the summer. You know, I was really impressed with
what he was bringing to the table in terms of the services he could provide to Winslow students. And I saw it I've done many after school programs in many districts, and I really saw it as a win-win for Winslow. Really, we're always looking at costbenefit analysis with a little cost outlay for the district with a lot of rewards. Thank you. >> Thank you, Dr. Black, for bringing your program to uh W County Board of Education. Uh Mr. Davis now reports on the uh first period SSDs. >> Good evening. Welcome. >> Pursuant to New Jersey statute 18A 37-13 and New Jersey Administrative Code 6A 16-5.3, I am here to report and seek approval for the Winso Township School District School Safety data, which includes information on the district's weapons, violence, vandalism, substance abuse, and harassment, intimidation,
and bullying incidents for the period of September 1, 2025 through December 31st. board members. In your packet, you should have received a chart and our incidents for this report period are as follows. Our early childhood education center, zero incidents. >> Thank God. >> They always count on the three-year-olds. School number one, zero incidents. School number two, zero incidents. School number three, they had two confirmed incidents for a total of two HIV incidents during that time period. No weapons, violence, vandalism, or substance abuse. So, school number three had a total of two incidents. School number four had three alleged HIV incidents. They had two incidents of violence which were threats for a total of five incidents for that report period. School number five, two alleged HIV incidents, one confirmed for a total of three HIV incidents,
and they only had they didn't have any weapons, violence, vandalism, or substance abuse. So, school five only had the three incidents. School number six, seven alleged HIV incidents, two confirmed for a total of nine HIV incidents, zero weapons, one fight for a total of 10 incidents. Our middle school, zero alleged. However, they had two confirmed for a total of two HIV incidents, zero weapons. They had nine violence, which were characterized as four fights, four assaults, and one threat for a total of 11 incidents. And our high school, 14 alleged HIV incidents, six confirmed for a total of 20 HIV incidents. Two instances were weapons, one was a knife, one was a firework. 11 instances of violence which were three fights, six assaults and two threats and then they had one instance of substance abuse which
was um use of marijuana for a total of 34 incidents. So our total counts for this period for HIV was a total of 39 incidents, weapons was a total of two, violence a total of 23, vandalism zero, substance abuse one for a total of 65 incidents for this um first period. So I as a district I'm happy to report that I did do a three-year look back. So when I went back to look at our um first period reports, so that would be you know September through December the prior three years. When I looked at our total incidents for 2023 we had 89 total incidents and then when I looked at it for 2024 it was at 76 and as I shared with you this year we're at 65. So we are trending down for
first period over a threeyear period. >> Any questions? Just one just one question. Um, Mr. Davis, under the category of violence where it talks about threats, were these verbal threats, physical threats? >> It could be a combination. >> Could be a Thank you, Mr. Davis. Great job. >> Thank you. >> If we can, we just want to back up to the previous presenter. I believe the board has some questions. Uh, if we can just take some time. Come on, M. Martin, you have some questions. >> Yes. Um, you currently have your program in use. How many students are you currently serving right this at this particular time? >> Right now, 20. >> 20. >> Okay. >> So, uh, like Oh, go ahead. >> Go ahead. >> Um, so like I was saying, we have different
kinds of programs and so like right now we've been running an after school program with about 20. We also have programming to do on like Saturdays. like it's more like a Saturday workshop. We do that usually in the spring and that and that kind of is a very different constituency of kids. >> Okay. >> So, we kind of cobble it all together >> and these are a combination of ages. High school, middle >> Oh, good question. Yeah. Um >> I can't answer. Sorry. >> Yeah, this this this is the option here. Amazing. >> Um, so we have students that range all the way I've had a kid in there that was um, second grade and then I've had kids as old as middle school. >> Okay. >> Not a huge amount of high schoolers, but
it's primarily elementary with a mix of middle school students. >> Okay. Thank you. >> And and I have one question if I may. You use the the infamous Gword. I call it the G word and that's the grant word. So, is there grants in place or are you looking to do a partnership so we can be in position to receive a grant? >> Are you offering to give me a grant? >> No, not at all. Not that word. I don't I don't even like saying the word. >> Um, we we are um we are regularly granted through a granter in Camden County, if that's what you were asking. And what I'm saying that do you need a partnership with a dis a district to perform through >> No. Okay. No. Our grant our grant is
uh for us to operate however we see fit and we see fit that to work with you guys is what we'd like to do. >> Your academic program is that serviced by certified uh teachers. >> Yes. >> And is it is it also throughout the summer? I'm not sure if you said that or not, but the summer >> No, we didn't talk about that. We are 12 months a year. >> 12 months a year. >> Yeah. We didn't talk about that. >> And um so on the low-end cost like the very you said you either do it free >> or it's a very low end cost. Do you all have a price point on how you do it so that um if parents are interested in bringing their children you would have that available for
us? >> Absolutely. And what we've been doing is basically a fee schedule based upon if they get free or reduced lunches, you know. So if that happens then we just subsidize them completely. >> Okay. Um, we have some families, we have some families that uh that uh, you know, are doing fine and pay the prices. Many of our families though are just completely subsidized. >> Okay. >> And that's why we that's why we get the grants and do it that way. >> Awesome. >> Just one more question. What is there any other organizations within the township that you're working with or partner with to >> Absolutely. Yeah. So we work we we have anou with uh Harambe uh social services which is a really very important partnership because they have a whole mental health wing
that we are able to tap into and work with and they are fun nextdoor neighbors to us literally. So we just open the door and we just do our thing together. So Harambe is a partner. Um we've worked substantially in the past with uh Orchards Family Success Center as well. Um, so those are two of the ones that we've worked with a lot. Um, when Mr. Bobby was around, we worked with him a bit, but uh, yeah. >> Thank you. Thanks so much. >> Thank you. >> All right, team. We gonna go down. I'm looking to get a motion to accept the summary of school safety data report period 1, September 1, 2025 to December 31st, 2025. Can I get a motion? A motion to accept. >> Second roll call. >> Mr. Park. Miss Dre.
>> Yes. >> Miss Gord. >> Yes. >> Miss Martin. >> Yes. >> Mr. Matthews. >> Yes. >> Miss Neves. >> Yes. >> Mr. Shaw. >> Yes. >> Miss Pitz. >> Yes. >> And Mr. Thomas. >> Yes. >> Motion is carried. Thank you. I'm now looking for a motion to approve the following meeting minutes of the board of education regular meeting Wednesday, January 28, 2026 open session and regular meeting Wednesday 2028 2026 close session. Can I get a motion? >> Motion to approve the minutes for regular meeting Wednesday, January 28th, 2026 open session. Regular meeting Wednesday 2020 January 28th 2026 close session. Any second? >> Any questions? Roll call. >> Miss Dreaden? >> Yes. >> Miss Gloyd? >> Yes. >> Miss Martin? >> Yes. >> Mr. Matthews? >> Yes. >> Miss Neves? >> Yes. >> Mr.
Shaw? >> Abstain. >> Miss Pittz. >> Yes. >> And Mr. Thomas? >> Yes. >> Motion has carried. >> Moving right along to our board committee reports. Uh thanks. Okay. So we're moving off to athletics and arts committee. Miss Claw, what you got? >> All right. Yes. Um so we have a great news on the sign on a national sign day here at the Winsow Township High School. We had Namir Tucker who um received a scholarship to Lincoln University. Messiah Bronner University of Kentucky. Leah Joseph St. Jo's University. Philip Hatfield Lincoln University. and Oliv Olivia Okora, University of Connecticut. And we also wanted to celebrate um the young man um Qu Mr. Hendricks. I don't want to mess up his first name. Um he scored 10,000 points for the basketball team and he got a little
poster and award for that for our basketball team. Also want to remind um folks here out that we have the spring musical coming on March 26th, 27th, and 28th featuring Chicago team edition. You don't want to miss our theater department and their great show that they put on for us. Outstanding. And I just want to add about our Mr. Hendrick. Uh he was a transfer student from Burlington. His family moved here just so he could go to Wendle Town and be in a position to do what he did and get a scholarship and go to Minnesota. He's a football player, uh, a basketball player and tracker. We glad came here just to play for Winsville. Great job there, Mr. B. Appreciate it. Moving right along, the citizens advisory committee, Miss Martin. >> Yes. >> Good
evening, everyone. >> Good evening. Good evening. >> So, I'm here on behalf of the Citizens Advisory Committee. Uh we last met on February 5th and I would like to share our meeting minutes with you all. Um so we began with old business uh which was a carryover from last year's efforts to help the HSA and PTO groups in the district. We would like to suggest that a council be created with a representative from each of the schools. The HSA PTO groups can coordinate their activities and work on a calendar to avoid conflicts with events. The recommendation was also made for Winslow Township date in the district to commemorate the township's inception on October 8th, 1845. The marketing committee held a meeting and it was suggested that Mr. Mr. Lola from the historical society make a
presentation to the board. Mr. Peas arranged for Mr. Lola to make a presentation at the last board meeting. A follow-up discussion was had about including students as members on the citizens advisory committee. We are suggesting that the superintendent or his designate meet with a student representative from each students from excuse me from each school's student government. This would include a sixth grade representative. Situations and concerns that directly impact them will be discussed. This was successfully done in the past. At our last meeting, we also discussed hosting more chats with a board member and town halls which will be carried over to our next meeting. We also discussed student orientations as students move through schools from early childhood to high school. We intend on formulating a recommendation at our next meeting. As far as new business,
school safety regarding dropping off and picking up students in the parking lot were discussed um as well as side roads. We will discuss this further in our next meeting. >> Can I have your name? >> Tiffany Brown. >> Miss Brown. Thank you. >> Thank you so much. Any questions for Miss Brown? Any discussion or comments from Miss Brown? >> Yes. Go ahead. >> Um Miss Brown, you can report back to the CAC that the policy committee is looking at the CAC policy and having a discussion around um some of the concerns and the requests that you may have concerning the CAC. >> Thank you. >> You're welcome. >> Anyone else? Thank you so much, Mr. Brown. Really appreciate your service. Moving on to the education committee. Mr. Webz. >> Uh yes. The education committee met

School 4 510 students. School 534 students. School 6 515 students. The middle school has 740 students and the high school has 1,272 students. Great total enrollment of 4,786 students at the time of the meeting. Uh there was discussion regarding if whether the buildings were currently operating at their maximum capacity. They are not. Um there was also discussion that enrollment figures can affect the allocation of state aid. So we did note that enrollment has been down from the previous school year. Um we had discussion regarding the inservice day and using that day as a makeup for the snow days and what other days could be
utilized. Obviously we made uh this coming Friday and Monday early dismissal days to utilize two of those days. Um there was discussion regarding the pilot programs that we have running in the schools right now. Um other schools were going to be visited on February 4th. Uh we were currently down to comparing two of the five pilot programs and a decision will be coming at the end of February. Uh there was grant updates on the instructional materials for professional advancement and coherent teaching the impact grant and the literacy initiative for families and thriving communities list which was submitted on January 20th. Uh future education committee meetings will be held prior to the second board meeting of the month going further. So, our next meeting will be 22526. And that concludes my report. >> Excellent. Any questions
for Miss No. >> Excellent report. Just one question. How are things going with the recruitment for the academic hall of fame? >> Well, I was going to bring that up in old business. I can I can talk about it now if you'd like. >> Your choice. Sure, why not? >> Okay. So, I have received uh 12 people of interest. Wow. Um, and I was actually very surprised because we've had alumni, people who are even no longer live in Missoula who heard about it and do want to come back and serve on these committees. So, we've had staff interest, former students. I'm really excited about the group. Um, so they have another week to uh to apply. So, I hope that I definitely see some more names coming in through my inbox. >> Fantastic. That's good
news. Thank you. Moving right along. Marketing committee. Miss Pit, what we got? >> This is what we have. Mr. Mr. President, as indicated at our last meeting, uh, um, I think report for January, our February meeting will take place on Thursday, >> okay, >> February 26th, as will the rest of our meetings will take place on the fourth Thursday of every month. >> Thank you so much, please. >> Negotiation. Mr. Shaw, you got anything you want to share for the good of the order? >> I have nothing. We have no new negotiations that need to take place. >> All right. Thank you. We're down to Miss Dre in the operations committee. >> Nothing at this time, Mr. President. >> Thank you so much. Policy. Miss Glor, what we got? >> Yes, we held our meeting
on January the 28th um 2026. Um we discussed the policy reviews for the following policies. Policy 0142.1 on nepotism. Policy 1212 on employment of chief of school administrator administrator revised and mandated. policy 1552 on sexual harassment and policy reg I mean regulation 1552 on sexual harassment. We also um went over the policies that were under abolishment, which is policy 3362, the sexual harassment regulation 3362, sexual harassment of teaching staff members complaint procedures. Policy 4352, sexual harassment regulation 4352, sexual harassment of support staff members complaint procedures. All of the policies that I just mentioned are listed in our today's agenda for our first reading approval. Um we had additional discussion um to talk about for the next meeting is our CAC policy review. Um today in today's meeting we did discuss the CAC policy review and
um on our next meeting we will regain I mean we will continue the discussion on the CAC policy after some research is completed and also on the use of facilities policy number 7510. Um question on um implementing a policy for district-wide celebration procedure. Um the committee we discussed it for we discussed and we recommended that to the superintendent and the assistant superintendent um to please go back and talk to the school administrators and obtain feedback and recommendations for district-wide procedure that in um ensures consistency and fairness across all of the schools. We adjourned our meeting and our next and today was our u meeting that we had today and I'll have minutes on that next week. That concludes my minutes. >> Outstanding. Any questions for Miss Law? Outstanding, Miss Law. Very appreciative. Technology Committee. I
know Mr. Clark's not here. Do we have anybody from the committee that can give you report on that? Yeah. >> Yes, I can read the minutes. Um, so we met virtually January 30th. Uh, summary of the meeting. Mr. P provided an update on the district technology audit expected to be completed by March 31st. Uh he also shared that no figures for improving infrastructure and security have been presented to the district as of yet. Uh I shared CAC feedback and community concerns including audio issues during online board meetings. Uh Mr. Clark reviewed the purpose of the technology committee and outlined next steps related to reviewing and reporting audit findings. Uh Mr. Peas noted no major concerns with I Ready and ongoing efforts to improve connectivity ahead of spring state testing. The committee discussed improving communication, transparency,
and use of digital communication platforms. Uh we adjourned at 5:48 p.m. and further meetings will still be up for discussions. >> Outstanding. Outstanding. Any questions for Mr. Nozz? Thank you, Mr. Noves. Uh we're going to the economic development council. That's actually Miss Dre as a representative. Do we have anything? >> Nothing at this time. >> Thanks a lot, Mr. Moving on to Town Municipal Drug Alliance. Mr. Matthew, do we have anything? >> Nothing to report at this time. >> All right. Thank you. Going on to the planning board. Mr. Shaw, do we have anything? >> Um, nothing other than next Thursday at 7 p.m. is our next scheduled planning board meeting. And we also have another one on the 26 to go over the affordable housing requirements for Windsor Township. And folks, I'm going to
take this time. I'm just going to read uh uh I am the representative for school 4 and I just want to share I did a a visit of school four and I just want to give a little report on going out to that school. I visited school number four and met with Miss Lori Kelly for a brief 20 minute uh interview. During our discussion, Miss Kelly explained that the ESL programs enforce not only students but teachers as well. on an annual basis. Before students return, staff participates in activities designed to build camaraderie and strengthen teamwork among the faculty. One example she shared was setting up the gym as a miniature golf course, allowing staff to play together and relax engagement environment. Staff also participate in activities such as African hopscotch. All aimed to keep a
morale high and maintaining positive energy. This efforts are focused on motivating both student achievement and staff achievement, reinforcing and supportive and energized school culture. Great job. Moving. Anyone else? Any questions? Moving right along. >> Oh, Mr. Thomas, did you want all board members who had a report on their school to do so now or did we? >> If you like. Yes. Yes. >> I have mine from school five. >> Okay, let's hear it. I will say I'm fortunate I have a student at school five so I'm pretty well aware of what goes on there. Um but I do have a report from Dr. Carter. Uh there's going to be a Black History Month assembly. It was student le on uh February 27th. Uh there are Black History Month segments. It's presented weekly during their wellness
Wednesday videos. Uh there are Black History Month bios presented daily during morning announcements by growth mindset ambassadors. uh Black History Month assignments and projects are incorporated throughout our daily lessons. The winter course concert, I believe, has to be rescheduled because that was February 3rd. So, we've we've changed that now. Uh the fourth grade trip will be on uh February 17th and the 19th. Candy bar bingo. >> The uh that is a big deal. I'm sorry. The HSA is working so hard on that. They had their meeting. Uh we were there this past Monday night. It's going to be huge. There's 30 some odd baskets, raffles, the whole nine. Uh, it's going to be fun and I think I'm going to be serving food. So, we'll see how >> What is that date again? >> Uh,
that's next Friday, 6 p.m. >> You like that bingo? That That's a key word. That bingo's a key word. >> It is. It's candy bar. So, if you want to play, you have to bring a candy bar, but they will have candy bars for sale at the door. You can buy extra wraps. It'll be a good time. >> Outstanding. Outstanding. Appreciate >> have I'm not done. Oh, go for it. >> Uh, so their Renaissance happening. They they have um acknowledged their Renaissance students, those who've had attendance, grades, and all those things. They're having a neon party at an ice cream social on the 26. I know my daughter be very happy about that. So again, that's recognizing students for their academic achievement, positive behavior, and attendance. Uh the HSA there, they do a school tour
every month as well. And just as a plug for the HSA, our current HSA are all sixth grade parents. They're gonna be moving up. So my school two parents and my school four parents who will be moving on to school five, please come out. We need you because they have one of the best HSAs I've seen in a very long time. It's very wellrun. They've got a system going on and they work very well with uh with the staff, Dr. Carter. And I'll give Dr. Carter, another plug because he's constantly keeping parents updated. He sends out um by uh yeah, every other two weeks he sends out an email says when the HSA meetings are going to be, what events are going on, fundraisers, the whole nine. So parents, there is no excuse to not
know what's going on at school 5. Just saying. >> Yeah, that's right. >> Kudos to school five. Any questions for Mr. Web? >> I do. >> Anyone else have any type of report for their school? >> Yes. Let's hear it. >> So, mine isn't as extensive as Mr. Ne. >> Yeah, she kind of out on that one. >> Good job. Um, but um do we have a meeting with Miss Floyd coming up um next week um to discuss how I can um do more more visits to her school. Um also, they are doing their Black History program. It was rescheduled from today to February the 23rd at 6 PM at school 3. So, if you're not doing anything, please come out. They usually put on some magnificent shows to come out and see the show.
And and that concludes my report for school three. >> Thank you so very much, Miss Paul. Anyone else have a report for us on any topic? >> Yes, I have a report. >> Let's go, Mr. Matthews. I hear you coming up the rear. >> So, I'm happy to say that school two is seeing steady academic growth on their midyear I Ready assessments while continuing to strengthen school culture through daily social emotional learning and character development. Additionally, I'm also looking forward to visiting the school on February 18th, which is next Wednesday, to officially meet Mrs. McBride, who's been communicating in a great way, and to tour a school and see their morning routines. >> Outstanding. Anyone else? And I just want to thank Mr. PS for allowing us to communicate directly with the principal of them
school and open the door so we can better uh uh talk about the student achievement that's going on in every school that we have. Moving right along to page number three, number 10, superintendence report. I will be looking for a motion to approve the superintendent recommended approval for the following actions starting on page number three going all the way to page number six at the top. Can I get a motion? >> Yes. Motion to approve the superintendence reports beginning on page three and then page six at the top. >> Second. >> I'm going from page number three at the top. >> To the bottom of page five. >> To the Okay. To the bottom of page five. >> Back to the bottom of page five. >> Can I get a motion? >> I make a
motion to approve the superintendence report beginning on page three and ending on page five. >> Second. >> Any questions? Roll call. Miss Dre, >> yes. >> Miss Floyd, >> yes. >> Miss Martin, >> yes. >> Mr. Matthew, >> yes. >> Miss Neves, >> yes. >> Mr. Shaw, >> yes. >> Miss Pitts, >> yes. >> And Mr. Thomas, >> yes. >> Motion has carried. >> Thank you so much. Now, at page number six, I'm looking for a motion to approve the business administrator's board secretary report. That's on page the top of page six and going all the way to the bottom of page number 11. I make a motion to I may u Mr. President that 21 and 22 there's no need for anybody to abstain. >> What do you think? >> Nobody needs to abain.
>> No need to abstain on 21 and 22. >> Okay. All right. >> I make a motion to approve the business administrator's report beginning on page six and end it on page 11. >> Second. Any questions? Roll call. >> Miss Tre. >> Yes. >> Miss Glo? >> Yes. >> Miss Martin? >> Yes. >> Mr. Matthews? >> Yes. >> Miss Neves? >> Yes. >> Mr. Shaw? >> Yes. >> Miss Pig? >> Yes. >> And Mr. Thomas? >> Yes. >> The motion has carried. >> Thank you. We're at page 12, the top of page, the personnel report. Looking for a motion to approve the superintendent recommends approval for the following actions. Starting on page 12. Going to page 15 to the middle. >> I make a motion to approve the personnel report beginning on page 12 and
ended on page 15 in the middle. >> Second. >> Any questions? Roll call. >> Miss Dre. >> Yes. >> Miss Glo. >> Yes. >> Miss Martin? >> Yes. >> Mr. Matthews? >> Yes. >> Miss Neves? >> Yes. >> Mr. Shaw? >> Yes. >> Miss Pit? >> Yes. >> And Mr. Thomas? Yes. >> Motion next to carry. >> Thank you so much. I do not see any addendum. Right. Correct. So, Mr. Long, >> can you give your thing about the open public records act? >> I believe that's um Mrs. Bole and there is no doesn't appear to be any for the month. Correct, Mrs. Bole? >> They don't show up on the report, but I should know. All right. Next time. >> All right. So, we're going to move along toformational items. Mr. Anything? Anybody? >>
Yes. A few items. Uh, happy Black History Month. I'm proud to announce that our schools are very active in celebrating this month. Also like to extend a happy Valentine's Day uh coming this weekend. And just a quote uh just don't give up what you're trying to do. Where there is love and inspiration, I don't think you can go wrong. Ella Fitzgerald. So, this winter's been a a rough winter for not only uh schools but for everyone. And just to give you an update on how our buildings have been uh performing in the the cold and some of the snow and the ice, uh the high school uh dealt with an issue which was contained uh along with the middle school. These were small uh leaks that uh were caused by pipes freezing. Uh Miss Pennock
and her team did a phenomenal job uh containing these uh areas and making the repairs and making sure that uh there was no need to close school uh because of the uh snowstorm. I just like to remind everyone that our makeup days, February 13th will be a half day for students, full day for staff, and February 16th will be a half day for students and staff. also like to report out that during the storm there was an regional shortage of salt in the area which hampered uh not only the school district but a lot of school districts and municipalities and uh working with our partners uh Mayor Lawrence and Joe Gallagher from the township uh they provided support to uh help us along the way and also uh reaching out to Cam Kelly College uh
Dr. Lavel Qbasset, president of the college, also provided some guidance during this this time. Also, it's budget season and Miss Bole and Miss Clement met with the department heads and they uh reviewed the budget and that process will lead to uh myself and Miss Bole then reviewing the budget and once that is reviewed uh Miss Bole will complete our draft and present that to the operations committee and then present that to the uh the entire board and submit to county to the county for county approval and then present to the public. So if you have questions uh once we meet with the operations committee, please do not hesitate to reach out to us or you have any concerns that you may want to address prior to that uh please shoot those questions to myself or
Miss Bole. Uh curriculum department uh Miss Clement uh participated in the Rowan University Strategic Partnership Committee and this committee is designed to address the retention and recruitment of teachers. We all know there is a teacher shortage. So, it's important that we participate with our colleges to uh hear some of the concerns and see how we can support some of the initiatives to uh encourage more students to go into the field of education. Our preschool interest form has been posted on our websites and I met with the boo the booster club today had a very positive meeting. I did receive the financial uh reports that I requested. The reports were uh all positive and uh funds accounted for. We discussed the future of the banquet. They are still in the process of working on that. And
I just want to publicly thank the uh booster club for the football team for their support and all that they do and extend to them my support as they move forward in supporting our young people on the uh football field. >> Policy audit. I I shared that with the policy committee uh briefly. It was completed. I gave a copy to uh Miss Bla and I will send a copy to all of our uh board members. uh there is some work that we need to do but uh based on Strauss's estimate our manager of our policies said we are in really good shape uh so we're excited to uh just complete that and bring all of our policies up to date moving forward and lastly it was requested by me to or asked if we had
any conversations in regard to uh immigration and how we how would the district handle immigration officers coming to our campuses I met with uh Winsow Township Police Department and we discussed their procedures and how they would like us to handle uh our procedures and they're in full support of providing the necessary police support uh if agents do arrive to our campuses. I will have a letter going out to all of our parents uh explaining to them in detail the report uh the process in which we will handle uh these encounters if they should happen and also I will provide procedures and protocols for all of our administrators to act upon if that should happen. Mr. President, this concludes my update and happy Valentine's Day everyone. >> Phenomenal. Phenomenal. I have a fewformational items as well.
I just want to report out that Miss Miss Bano from NJSBA will be out here in April to start our quest to seek a five-year strategic plan. Also, she will be here sometime early spring to present us with a board certification award. Also, I would like to commend our superintendent on his new uh breakfast club, uh YouTube, uh using any kids. That was absolutely outstanding. Very phenomenal. Also, our outreach is is paying dividend. If anyone is available tomorrow at 2 o'clock, we got the bishop of CCU coming in just to talk and see how we can be in a collaboration state to to promote our student achievement. So if anyone's available and wants to be a part of that, that all that is there as well. And that includes my information items. Does anyone else
have any? >> If I may, Mr. President. >> Absolutely. Um I I just wanted to provide to Mrs. Pittz uh a sort of a timeline on superintendent evaluations as well as the background guide that's been issued by New Jersey School Board. So I'll present that to you. Mrs. I believe you're taking over that role this year. >> Um I know we typically Good I know we typically I'm glad to see you prepared as well. I should have known better. Um but just as a reminder because I I know it it got real close to the end last time. I know that Miss Peterson over the years has stepped forward and taken the ball. So with her not being on the board this year, I just want to make sure the president cannot and has appropriately
delegated that responsibility. But it's very important that we complete it and we complete it timely and uh I know under your um supervision that that will happen. But I just wanted to share that. Thank you, Mr. President. >> Thank you. Any questions? Moving right along to old business. Is there any information under old business? >> Mr. Let me just say this is just on a personal note. This as not old business, but to any of my colleagues here, my um my email account uh has been hacked. And if you've gotten any messages from me that talks about Amazon and sending me a Oh, you too. Okay. I really I apologize for that. >> I sent you a thousand bucks. >> Daddy's going to back right now. >> Exactly. because I have a person coming over
to my house tomorrow to uh as it turns out I had I think Windows 10 and that's totally out and so I'm going to have to um bite the bullet and get a whole new system. So I apologize for any inconvenience that they may have caused to any of my colleagues because uh that was not me. I'm sure I'm sure that was not me. >> Any questions for Mr. Pit? >> No I with regard to old business Mr. President? >> Yes. I just again picking up on um what Mr. Long said, remember at our last board meeting I uh reminded everyone with regard to the one most important uh responsibility that that we have as a board is to do our superintendent evaluation and I believe uh that we all have received this calendar and
um and making sure as um uh Mr. along has said that we want to make sure that we are in lock step and um with regards to our responsibilities. So uh the first step in this evaluation uh process timewise is to have an evaluation pre-conference and that's is to take place between February and March and I'm asking my colleagues if indeed um the first meeting in March which is March 11 that would be agreeable that we could do that uh in um executive session on March 11. Is there anyone who does not want to do that? Okay. So, we can we can pencil in in our calendar that the executive session at the March 11th meeting is when we will do our pre-evaluation conference. Any questions? >> Okay. >> All right. Moving on to new
business. Is there any information anyone want to share on new business? >> Yes, Mr. President. Um, I attended the New Jersey school board's board of uh director meeting and I just had uh on January 30th I just had a couple key takeaway points that I would like to share. Um, the state level advocacy assemblymen Reynolds Jackson and Senator Lopal will remain as educational chairs of their respective legislative branches. Jonathan Kushman, NJSBA senior director of advocacy, participated in Governor Mikey Shur's delivering a strong education for your children, New Jersey children action team. The winter edition of the capital watch includes a names to know section which features an introduction to the new commissioner of education and to legislative leadership for 2 2026 and legislative session. New partnerships NJSBA has announced new two new strategic partnerships. One
is with the future ready New Jersey coalition to help more residents achieve post-secary degrees credentials and provide employers with a more educated and skilled workforce. The second is with New Jersey Education and Technology Association. It is a professional membership organization dedicated to supporting the wide range of school technology professionals across the state. training programs. Upcoming NJSBA programs include the lead master class series which is Thursday, February 19th, 2026. Third annual women's leadership conference, Friday, March 20th, 26, and school public relations forum, the PR productivity lab, maximizing impact with minimal time, Friday, April 24th, 2026. Workshop 2026. Planning for the workshop has to be done. The workshop team is analyzing feedback from workshop 2025. Making adjustments, finalizing theme and sponsor options, and reviewing keynote speaker options. If you or your district is interested in part in
presenting, the call for proposals and student performances open this month. Registration will open in April. Thank you. Thank you so much, Mr. Not a question, but the statement M. Martin reminded me when she um in reporting on the legislative issues. Um, as you know, Mr. President, you and I both received invitations with regards to having the opportunity to meet and get um up close and personal with our lieutenant governor. >> Okay. Um I believe that um the infidate invitation said that Rowan University will be doing it on February 24th. >> Yes, I did do it. >> Okay. And um our former uh board member, Miss Julie Peterson, uh if you're interested in attending that, you can contact her. Um because the tickets, I believe, was $65. the whole lunches, but I uh thought that it
would be a great opportunity for any of us, especially board members, to be um to be in contact to be up close and personal with the uh lieutenant governor. >> I agree. Any questions on that topic or anything of other? >> All right, we're moving along to public comments. >> Thank you. The Winslow Township Board of Education highly values the input of citizens in making the important decisions that affect the children of our community. We believe in the rights of citizens to observe board meetings to ensure that all of our citizens have the opportunity to attend schoolboard meetings and offer comment. And to ensure that the board can conduct the important business of the district, we ask that speakers follow the following guidelines for making public comment. The board secretary will recognize those individuals in
the audience who wish to make comment and we'd ask that you respect the following procedures. One, all members of the public attending schoolboard meetings must treat each other and the board with respect. Two, please state your full name and town of residence. There is no need to give your address. Three, please limit your comments to four minutes. Four, submit your questions in the event we're unable to answer them this evening. uh feel free to submit them uh to the board of education along with your name uh email address, regular address, telephone number where you can be contacted and someone from the district will be back to you with an answer within a reasonable period of time. Lastly, individuals offering citizen comment are not permitted to make personal attacks on any district employee, board member, other
testifier, or member of the public. Thank you, sir. >> With that being said, I'm looking for a motion to go into and open up public comments. >> Motion to go and open up public comments. >> Second. >> Roll call. I mean, all in favor? >> I. >> Mr. Patrick Oats. Good evening, Patrick Cichville. So, I didn't know what was the right time. I had a couple questions for you. So, I didn't know how it works as far as the board had questions, but the public had questions. So, I didn't know we were supposed to go then or now. So, thank you for staying around. Appreciate that. Yes, sir. >> Yeah. You're on your program. So, you gave me an example of a success story. Can you tell me about your small group instruction and how
that what that looks like? And also can you also tell me how you measure success for the people that drop off their parents? Um what type of documentation do you do? Can you speak about can you speak to that please? >> What a surprise. All right. Um so um from a standpoint of the way we measure success I'll start there. Um it's different for the various programming that we do. Um so uh for instance if we do tutoring um oftent times uh we're coming with the kid is coming with assessments and things of that nature and we work with the parent or the caregiver to create goals that we all want to achieve together. Um the other question um you measured I guess you measure success >> what the small group instruction look like. So
with um especially like with the afterchool program um the the instruction looks like certainly a licensed person there. Um sometimes we'll have helpers depending on how many kids are there and if we need to differentiate or not. Um because as you can imagine having a second grader and an eighth grader you know it it it we want to make it it work for everybody. So, we'll when the the thing that's difficult about what we do is we don't know what we're going to get until we get it. And so, you you look up and you've got um this variety of kids. And so, we've got to kind of make quick pivots. And so, we're built to do that. Um because again, at the end of the day, um it's the kids experience that's going to
really say volumes about whether the kid wants to come back, whether the parents want to bring them back. How do you measure success? >> We measure success. We measure success really by um the parent and the desires that the parent uh voices to us in reference to what they want to accomplish with the kid. More than anything else, that's what we're looking for is we're looking for those types of improvements. >> Hey, thank you so much. So just for uh future for asking the board when a presenter comes up and public ask questions are we able to raise a hand ask the question or do we wait to this time period here >> we the president has the authority to open it up for questions um to the public if he chooses to do so.
Um, I didn't I I know the board had several questions. Um, if if that ever happens again, Mr. Oats, please just raise your hand and ask if the public can participate because if we don't see anybody moving or any, we may not look out and make that happen. But there's no legal impediment for it to occur and include the public. And I know this board is very much about transparency and inclusion. So, I think we would welcome any questions and you'd ask some very valid questions. So, feel free to let us know next time. >> Thank you, Mr. Solisser. I did not want to be out of order, so that's why we glad I didn't have anywhere to go tonight, so I'm hanging around. But, uh, thank you. So, uh, couple other questions. So, first
of all, I wanted to say thank you, Mr. Peas, for reaching out to me. Uh, I had the flu, so I haven't had a chance to sit down with you. It put me down for three weeks, and I'm just now getting better. My wife says, "Send me no more presents because we all got the flu at my house." >> That being said, uh, going back to CAC real quick and I have a question for Mr. Webz. You mentioned at school two, they have a really good, uh, PTA or home school association. >> School, >> uh, school five, excuse me. I would ask um and this is just me personally. Uh the next time you guys meet with your u super principles, can you ask them about the home and school and ask them what their
challenges are and um >> Oh, I can tell you those. >> Well, I'm I'm Okay, good. I I like to hear that. But I want I would like for if you guys would indulge me to ask the your principles, the building principles what your challenges are because every school's different, but what your challenges are and what they would like to see and then maybe um you can take that back to the CHC as we work on uh what we're doing there. So that's one, but go ahead. >> Oh, parent involvement. There are not enough parents that come out to the HSA. jobs. >> Every uh principal would say the same thing like I mentioned a school five their outgoing entire executive uh branch of their HSA is leaving and we don't have the parents to
come in and take your place >> and that has been the case for the past 15 years that I've had a job. >> Well, we need to try to fix that. I'm sure some of the superintendent some are more I keep saying some of the building managers are more dynamic than others. I'm not saying that that's good or bad, but I'm sure they have ways if they had a say what they would do. >> So, um that's one that's that's an ask. >> Mr. Before you go on, uh your request for the CAC and I've spoken to the CAC about uh the protocols and the chain of command to follow when there are concerns and those concerns that principles have shouldn't go to the CAC. should go to the chain of command up to me
to be dealt with. Now, if something that the CAC has, I guess, uncovered as a issue or concern out in the community, sure, that can come to uh the board and be discussed here. But as far as operational concerns and issues with the school, that's something that one either the union leadership, administrative team, or myself and my team uh handle internally. You're correct. I meant to, let's just say I didn't convey that correctly. I'm I'm thinking as far as parent involvement of what the ideas are, not operational. I'm sorry about that. Okay. >> You're correct, sir.
