session. >> Good afternoon everyone. This is our first special meeting on Thursday, April 30th, 2026. It is 12:00 at the shopping administration building. Mr. >> Mrs. Johnson, >> Mrs. PZ, >> Mrs. Crumbley, >> President >> Mr. Krisiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, liberty and justice for all. Mexico friendship among United Cultures. >> There any changes to the agenda? >> Uh there are no changes to the agenda. Madam President, >> have a motion to approve the agenda. I make that motion. >> I'll second that. >> Mr. C. >> Yes, ma'am. Mrs. Johnson, >> yes. Mrs. PZ, yes. Mrs. Crumbley, yes. Mr. Cos, >> anyone signed up for public comment? Bye. on to action items. >> Uh, Madame President, members board,
I want to thank you for calling this special meeting today. We uh really wanted to had some bids and RFPs that we did have out uh that we wanted to make sure we reviewed and put for possible approval today. Uh many of these we did let folks that bid and let wanted to let them know by the end of April uh so we can make sure we secure their services. Really felt if we waited too far into we may lose an opportunity. So I just wanted to give context for why we were doing these special meeting. In addition, we're going to be u considering the uh operational budget for deming center charter high school. We also wanted to include that on this special meeting as well because um our May 21st meeting. We'll be uh
having a discussion about our budget. Want to make sure we have that separated as well uh with this opportunity. So um item number one present >> consideration to award bid number 25-01 food related non-food items classroom concession stands fundraising and other Mr. President superintendent. So what we do with this one is uh we have things for like our classrooms that we call food. We have concession stands. We have different fundraisers throughout the district that that require uh that we use food for uh this so that we don't end up having to compl and and buy some small things at the end of the year is what this is for. Uh we did have uh several people that responded to us uh asking to uh to which is going to be super and >> question or
discussion with the board. A motion regarding this item. Make a motion that >> I'll second it. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Mrs. Johnson, >> yes. >> Mrs. PZ, >> yes. >> Mrs. >> Yes, >> Mr. Co. Yes. >> B, consideration to award bid number 25-03, student nutrition not food. And me just want to note here we we have our correct uh bid number 123. Um it just we for it says student nutrition food and food. Okay. So we did write it out right numbers here. This will include food and non products. So I cut and kend. So u this is a we go out for every four years. uh the uh term of the stream to 40 years. Uh Cisco uh was our previous u previous and suggesting we get over >> the second year of
the four years or we're studying another. >> So this is another four years. This current year that we're in is the fourth year of Alaska. This is starting July 1st for the next up to four years. >> Exactly. Does the prices are locked in for the next four years or change? >> Prices can still change part of that um that they do there is certain uh requirements that they have. Are they going to change the prices on it? they can't just about prices if there's not some sort of market reasonable condition for that. Uh we did have an increase in prices. What was that a couple of years ago? um kind of across the board for a lot of their stuff that when we were talking about, you know, freight increases and fuel and all
of those things that was happening. Um it was, you know, easily justified because they really had to survive. Any other questions by the board motion regarding motion award by both student nutrition and non >> I'll second it. >> Yes. >> Mr. Johnson. >> Yes. >> Mrs. P. >> Yes. >> Mrs. >> Yes. >> Mr. Corus. >> And very briefly, Madam President, before we move on, I think I've was remiss in our last couple of boardings. ever formally introduced Janie Kenyon, our student nutrition director that took over upon the departure of Miss >> That's exactly what I was saying. I was going to have her up coordinator and she we can introduce she can see what she does and see if the meals are still as good as they are as terrible. >> So yes, Jamie's
working on that. So my apologies for not introducing her appropriately. U Madam President, >> thank you. on to C consideration to award RFP25-04 occupational therapy Mr. Adoff at the work. >> Uh so madam president superintendent so again this is another one our ancillary that we uh we try and do these on a rotating basis so we don't have everybody for every all their services at the same time. uh occupational therapy did come out this year. Um the uh that wasn't providing us those services uh was unable to continue to provide those services. I believe it's for staffing uh reasons. Uh so we're interesting about we're just any questions. >> I do have a question. >> In the future, can we have the tabulation form to where it doesn't say cost and a dollar at the
bottom? Because when you look at that form, it looks like you're always picking the most expensive uh options when it's actually a tabulation of different like they get four for the cost for the person. So like but at the very bottom where it adds it all up, it says cost on the left and it has dollar sign. >> So when someone got awarded 98 points, it says $98. >> Confusing when you first look at it. I I looked at that public it looks like an adult. >> Thank you Johnson. I appreciate that. I think I know what I thought. We'll we'll give that a we'll give that a look. >> Any questions or discussion board motion regarding this RFP? >> I make a motion to award RFP number 25-04 occupational therapy. I second it. Thank
you, Mr. Coke. >> Yes, ma'am. Mrs. Johnson, >> yes. >> Mrs. Bas, >> yes. >> Mrs. >> Yes. >> Mr. P. >> On to D. Consideration to award RFP25-05 psychological services. >> Superintendent. So uh and this is another one of those that we uh we do a 30-year cycle basically as long as uh those who we're having with the services and and also able to provide those services. We are awarding these to vendors. They are the we currently have uh providing those services for this and >> question award number 255 psychological second. >> Yes ma'am Mr. Johnson. Yeah. Mas. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Fley. >> Yes. >> Mr. Pro. Yes. >> On to the consideration to approve the operational budget for Dem Caesar Chavez High School year 26. Mr. Masters and or Miss Superintendent. Thank
you for having us today. And as uh uh superintendent uh said uh we don't want to take care of the channel in your main meeting because uh going to have some films shortly. So thank you for this opportunity. Um having uh I believe uh our first method and we just want to go over some of the highlights at the bottom the last page. Um we have one who's for all staff. Um we have gone to a three tiered salary schedule this year. Uh and last summer was the the TCI uh with how they rate the uh the teachers. Um they 2% for just 50,000. Uh we're going to keep our same operational FTS uh we'll have uh the development we're able to do through our um operations um grants and general language arts and mathematics.
The final funding of course is intervention and open source. Uh we will be allocating uh a little bit more to special education this year because uh our numbers this year um we got time and then as scroll up there Mr. Turner a little bit. Um so I just want the board to know you see this pie chart that Mr. Masters has uh has put together. Um that is if you go up to the top where where all the different items are listed here. So these are the kind of your different functions. So that second number there right all these 1000s you see those are all your um uh the blue part of the pie chart on the bottom that's the instruction. Okay. And if you go to the ne and stop me if I get
this wrong Mr. Masters uh the second part of this budget but 2100 this is uh the student instructional support um uh for the for the kids on for on campus. The next one 22 is other 23 is central. >> Uh so yeah, >> so so stuff um and that that department and then I think 26 or 24 is um campus administration that's going to be like the assistant uh well the assistant principal and assistant chart director and those related items and then um I'm going to get lost here. 25 looks like this is the finance and other central office support item and then 20 there's a 26 here that is typically your school facilities and maintenance is that correct Chris >> I am I am very impressed how that pie chart on the bottom you
like the pie chart on the bottom that pie chart align to the numbers on top that's the uh that's kind of the alignment there right most of the most of the um the blue part that's going to be your instruction and student support and of course you got to have school admin uh at a charter and of course you got to have the the executive which is again like principal. So when we're looking at this pie chart u you know very large amount of it is going to obviously direct instruction and operation of the school. Um just have one one question uh Mr. master myself and I don't know if the board has additional questions. Um but um can you tell us a little bit about um how how you might went about putting community
input, community feedback in in the budget in budget developments. I know that you know and I'm interested in that as super typical. I know obviously you all serve a very unique um and important part of our community and just curious on how you know to do that. Sure. So, uh, first have their way of meeting uh, in in March, but as you all know, there's some of attendance from community time on budget uh, each other. So in our federal teacher conference uh we have a English and in Spanish and uh that we to all of the parents that come to the future future teachers and sorry um they build that absolutely sure about how we go um and um they talk about it and find the best way to address those maze we have to
go those but there's also places for so all of those and I think we have 70 of those with consoles this year which is what >> and then I know you're and I believe my understanding is Mr. masters that the MSR chavis governing council did approve this operational budget in their prior in our week and then because our budget was actually due on the 22nd the short but we do have till I believe it's June uh June for the patient >> those were the those were the questions that I had Mr. masters only because um I was most interested in a in a committee input. Um it sounds like that you guys have a long-standing good good process. So those are the I want to provide that clarification to the board relative to what is
being seen here. Um in addition to that was just my question but madam president >> your column is the left one like this year's budget and then actual and then next year's budget >> original estimated and objective. So this is our original measure here where italics that is some call. So on June 30th this is what we are asing that we will be spending for this fiscal year. And then the third one is the projection for next year's budget. when I have you kind of but that's how they set it in the safe system and so I just kind of always but it can be confusing like current will actually fit here and then projected back. Okay. >> I'll second that. >> Mrs. Johnson. >> Mrs. Crowley, >> yes. >> Mrs. P. >> Yes, >>
Mr. Kix. >> Thank you very much. >> On to board announcements and requests for items. Do I have any board member requests for items or information for the next meeting? The board will be having the next regular meeting at the end of the shop administration building on May 21st, 2026. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. Motion to make that motion. >> I'll second that. >> Mr. >> Yes, ma'am. Mr. Johnson, >> no. >> Mrs. PZ, >> yes. >> Mr. Scley, >> yes. >> Mr. C, yes. Measure.
