001our our school community and it will help the not just the teaching staff but all the staff working in our school. Uh if that get passed that means that um our staff members who are participating in the insurance services uh they will only be paying 20% and the district will be paying 80%. But that's going to be beneficial for us as a district because it will ensure that our uh teacher our staff as well as our as the family of our staff are taking care. that means that they could get insurance and that they will be they will keep themselves healthy. So, uh personally I support that legislation of course. Um as far as our IT uh we have already established our first initial communication and PR committee and uh transportation. Last uh February 11,

002we have completed our 120th day. Unfortunately, we had a dip. >> So, it was 80th day. we have about 152 and uh last uh February it went down to uh 147 roughly >> 247 22 to 247. So we definitely would encourage our family to help with our ridership. So working with our um uh transportation team uh what I found out that there were there were kids that were sick that day. So, you know, if they're sick, what we can do. So, but definitely uh we are working to make sure that our transportation system will continue to operate. As a matter of fact, M Charlene has just completed training two new substitute drivers. So we would be able to continue to provide non-stop uh transportation services for our after school because I was told that we

003have 29 elementary sign up for after school children but track and field is starting uh baseball is starting. So that would need additional transportation support for after school. Um for our grants uh we are fully approved with our CPE as of um and we are com uh we are starting to uh spend down those money. Uh we are finalizing our third party grant for our elementary as far as the reading intervention. Um we as I mentioned a while ago we have applied and we have approved for additional just right river grant as well as our year two for CLSB and um but I would also like to take advantage of my time madame president um I attended together with the board um last week with the New Mexico schoolboard association um board institute and during

004that time our board received receive awards for having completed trainings that are not just required but going above and beyond the required training. So the New Mexico School Board Association presents this leadership achievement award to Miss Amelia Truhill from Hemis Valley Public School Board of Education. This certificate acknowledges that the board member has successfully completed 24 cumulative hours of training for level one of leadership development program set by the board of directors of the New Mexico School Board Association February 6, 2026. Signed by Marvin Haramo, NMSBA president, Mr. Joe Gillan, NMSBA executive director. Exemplary. Yeah, I'm saying thank you because uh as you would know in next year this year the district all the district in the school including charter school are going through accreditation. So the accredititation is whether the school continues to operate

005or whatn not and there are a lot of criterias in there student proficiency attendance uh engagement of the community and also compliance with required board training. So I am very happy to report that as far as our board we are very much in compliance. So exemplary award to Peter Mandelena Hemis Valley public school board of education. This certificate acknowledges that this board member earned 20 or more hours of training within the 2024 2025 program year February 6, 2026. Signed Marvin Haramo NSBA president Joe Gillan executive director. The same except award for Miss Kathy Trujillo Wiseman His Valley Public School Board of Education. This certificate acknowledges that this board member earned 20 or more hours of training within the 2024 2025 program year February 6, 2026. Marvin Haramo, NMSBA president, Joe Gillan, executive director. Then we

006have this outstanding leadership award to Amy Trillo. He Valley Amelia Trujillo Hemis Valley Public School Board of Education. This certificate acknowledges that the board member has successfully completed 36 commumulative hours of training for level two of the leadership development program set by the board of directors of the New Mexico School Board Association February 6, 2026. Signed Marvin Haram, NMSBA president, Joe Gillan, NMSBA executive director. And so in behalf uh in behalf of the of the strong Hemis Valley public school staff, students and community, I'd like to extend the appreciation, my appreciation and honor working with the board because uh of your dedication, the time that you have to be out from your family and uh participating in this training which you bring back the knowledge and uh and uh the advocacy that is aligned to

007the New Mexico public education and the mandate. So, thank you for taking time and thank you for uh uh being active in our school board. So Madame President employee increase that 1% they were asking for that didn't go through >> um as far as the Senate is concerned there's some hold up on that one I'm not saying but um one uh senator uh the the argument was that um every ask there's something that to give. So it's almost like in order to fully fully fund the 8020 then the 1% may not be doable. >> Um but the legislation session has not been officially uh closed. So it's still there's still some amendments. There's still some things but right now that's where it stands as far as I know. I heard that also the legislature. >>

008That's correct. They wanted uh that's put forth. Yeah, I think that one I cannot be quoted on that one. I think it passed. I just don't know which um which body if the Senate or the uh House of Representative wherein they're putting that um it's not passed but rather they're asking it to be voted upon as far as the session the longer session for next year for the legislation as well as uh to pay legislators salary. Thank you. going down to um >> good evening. >> Right. So, uh we have a combined report tonight for all three sites. Um so we'll start with elementary school. Uh first uh first month of 2026 was in it was one of achievement and adventure at Hus Valley Elementary School. It was a landmark month of community participation and

009campus spirit as the school kicked off the second semester with strong momentum. Uh our early childhood spotlight uh community focuses on community helpers. PreK students explored the important roles that keep the community running, visits from professional, including law enforcement and transportation staff who discussed safety and service. Students also learned about culinary careers through hands-on experiences where each student created their own mini pizza, gaining an appreciation for food preparation and school meal programs. And then student uh rewards and milestones. To celebrate students with perfect attendance in January, the school hosted a popcorn popcorn bar celebration that energized students for the new semester. Additionally, spanned the outlimate warriors. Students who demonstrated excellent grades, behavior, and attendance earned a field trip to the electric playhouse in Albuquerque. Uh the immerse experience served as a powerful incentive for the

010entire student body. community uh and safety nature partnerships. Uh JV JS Valley Elementary School welcomed Los Alamos Police Department uh the K9 division allowing students to see working dogs in actions. The US Forest Service also visited with Smoky Bear reinforcing fire safety. uh students further strengthen their connection to local ecology through engagement with the bias caldera staff and then also as elementary fundraising and athletics during a recent parent meeting. Uh the hot dog combo fundraiser raised over $500 to support prek continuation efforts. Elementary basketball launched successfully this season with coaches reporting increased teamwork, sportsmanship, and student excitement. on to uh secondary schools. Uh secondary schools continue to provide academic experience and promote engagement, achievement, and college and career readiness. Both our middle school and our high school participated in the ultimate warrior field trip to

011Meow Wolf. Um all students m who maintained a 2.5 GPA or higher and recorder recorded fewer than six absences uh were eligible for the the uh this experience. The MER environment focused on creativity, collaboration, critical thinking while reinforcing the district's emphasis on accountability and achievement. In the mid in the high school we had 28 students and four staff members attend. In the high school we sorry in the that was the high school in the middle school we had 32 students and three staff members attend. In addition to the trip to the wolf students also enjoyed a lunch at Dion. In middle school we had seven sixth graders 16 seventh graders and nine eighth graders attend. Overall, students thoroughly enjoyed the experience experience which supported relationship building and reward positive student engagement. For our 8 through

01212 students on July 26, we had a the governor and tribal leadership visit from HES uh who spoke to our students about setting meaningful goals after high school, the value of education, and the importance of developing skills necessary for lifelong success. The visit strengthened our partnership between the district and the PBLO while providing students an authentic engagement from community leaders. Our eighth graders also participated on in our NAPE assessment on February 10th. The entire eighth grade class participated in the NAPE assessment often referred to as the math the nation's report card. Um students were evenly assessed in reading and mathematics made this cont congressionally mandated program administered by the uh national center of educational statistics within the US department of education. Schools are selected through a national sampling process making the participation both notable and

013meaningful. Students who completed the the assessment also received an additional two hours of community service. upcoming we have our >> before that ask uh madame president if I may interject to that one that national assessment of education during the n during the schoolboard association that was one of the assessment that was compos was talked about that um this is right now as it stands that's the that's the test that is being used to describe how New Mexico students are at the bottom of the entire United States. But there is there is a white paper that was advocated by the NML the assoc and the NMSSA association of school superintendent that rightly uh used a more not a more but rather a widely used data source because like what it says there only our eighth grade

014class are being tested. since I have been here. I've been here January of 2022. I don't think any of our students took Nate. So that's the kind that that's that's what our advocacy is that uh now our students are linked to that description that New Mexico students are in the bottom. But uh the New Mexico school association of school superintendent put together a study using the lexide level and saying that our students if compared uh compared to lexanide which is used across the states we our students are not doing that bad but it doesn't mean that we don't have a work to do but um be it as it may like but in this report it is required because we we are title school. We receive federal funding. We are required to administer. But I

015would like to um um tell the board that we would be I uh with the leadership with the principles, we will be very very careful when uh presenting the data and providing you the analysis not just to rely on this test but to give you the progress monitoring test from our students because this would be a one-time test that the students did not see. The eighth graders did not see that kind of test last year. They don't and that's that's by design. That's by design by the test so that nobody would know what it looks like, what question. So I'm just giving that information to the board. Thank our community. Yes. Go ahead. Um upcoming event we have on March 5th is our warrior summit at our high school. It's a comprehensive student success event

016focused on postsecary readiness. The summit will feature breakout sessions centered on college and career pathways, uh, a college and career fair and alumni student panel discussions and as well as individual advisor check-ins. The event reflects the district the district's continued commitment to preparing students for success beyond graduation. Um then we also have in our first week of March we are having our second administration of the fastbridge assessment which uh focuses on reading and math skills. Uh that uh data will continue to drive our instructional decisions, strengthen targeted interventions and support ongoing monitoring of student growth. Then last Friday and then this Friday we are we also have our our SAT preparationmies happening uh where all 11th grade students will participate in the SAT preparation. This include focus on instruction preparation strategies and fulllength practice assessments

017designed to increase student confidence and performance. um upcoming homecomings. Well, it's not upcoming now, but it's uh at the time of writing it was upcoming um but uh the our homecoming celebration took place on Valentine's Day, February 14th, where the school hosted our annual homecoming dance as well as our uh athletic events and some of our homecoming festivities were designed to promote school pride and strengthen campus culture. activities throughout the week included multiple themed dress up days that encouraged student participation and community uh building through high energy pep rally that uh took place on Thursday, February 12th. And I'm a bit disappointed in myself to say I did not win the employable race. So I'll I'll work harder on that next year. I'll train it for you. Um and then uh these events provide students

018with opportunities to connect beyond the classroom, celebrate positive school traditions, and enhance their overall school experience. Um so one of the things that I really um have been focusing on is my is walkthroughs throughout the middle school and high school classrooms and uh giving teachers clear um expectations and what and what we're looking for in that instruction. And through these walkthroughs, I have seen an improvement in instructional quality, increased emphasis on collaborate collaboration, project based learning. Um, just some keynote things that we're seeing were students identifying steps in complex pro processes, engaging in through engaging throughout problem solving and demonstrating authentic applications of their learning. Um teachers effectively combined identifying details direct instruction and strong classroom management practices resulting in high levels of student engagement and productive learning environments. These trends reflect the our staff's

019dedication to strengthening tier one instruction. And lastly, we have been as you as our board knows that last year we beginning of this year, we were granted for United Healthcare a wellness room uh that that in our high school. Well, United Healthcare has been provided funding for three additional wellness rooms throughout the state of New Mexico and has provided us an opportunity to develop one in our middle school. >> Any questions? question um Mr. foster on the section of instructional progress. You I mean it's wonderful the things that you're noting there like the direct instruction and the classroom management but I'm curious I mean observations are pretty subjective and I'm wondering if we have data to show maybe more concrete um you know representation of what you're describing as strengthening tier one instruction. >> Sure.

020So as far as you're correct observations are subjective um as far as our dates our data our data is gathered through our student progress which I think that as we do our fast bridge assessment hopefully we'll see that that increase what um what as I've been meeting with teachers what uh what I've been primarily focused on is key things that I'm looking for within the instruction um group work um project based uh that blending of not only just traditional education but that application piece. So that's so as far as data in regards to that there there's not really like quantitative data in the sense of you know that that will hopefully show through our through our assessments but it's just as in guided direction for our teachers. Okay. >> Madame President, uh one way that

021uh we can address that one is I know that um previously the board requested have a report which I would compile with um a report on standards mastery >> which we can do because our curriculum allows that and we should be able to put together a data. So I will work with the academic team and we will be able to present um where uh what standards what grade level standards are our students mastering correctly. >> So yes ma'am >> um I have one more thing that's okay. Um the warrior summit that's wonderful. I'm excited to see something like that. I think I think did it last year too if I'm not mistaken. >> I have no idea. I'm not sure but I believe it it has been on >> Okay. I am curious um I

022mean always in favor of of hearing our student voices if they have input on what's being offered to them at this summit. >> Um >> I do know that our our liaison frequently who is setting up this event has to children has met with students. I I can I can get back to you on that. I don't know what level of input. >> I just want them to find it useful. It's their idea. There's more motivation. Exactly. >> Thank you. >> Sorry, madame president. Um, one thing that um I want I had a conversation with our leadership team uh planning for the next year specifically uh in the context of uh creating the calendar master schedules. Um, I emphasize that we really would like to hone in on effective and uh competent instruction because our

023students only are here 155 days and about 7 hours a day. So uh my uh my directive for our leadership team is to come up with a plan on how to maximize that goal without sacrificing instructional time. So I think that's a good that's this is a good time because that's one particular aspect that we cite as an example or temporally how how will become temporarily become an instructional this summit how will it truly become instructional because it's happening during instructional day. >> Yeah. >> So what lesson and that means engaging with the students what what kind of learning they need. >> Yeah. So definitely we'll address that madame president and if I may madame president I forgot this because these are just new fresh information regarding the regarding our highway decal. So uh we

024already got an okay from do and we are already talking with ape for the installation and and miss Charlene is looking into a project and I really support this project called zona. It's uh that means that uh we would have our tracker or our students will now be having their own ID and then it helps with for example if they get lost or something at the same time we would u the counts attendance it's a lot of possibility so I really support that and Miss Charlene is is spearheading that and going to write a grant for us to get to get it for us. So, we're hoping that that would uh become a reality. And um regarding our facilities um tomorrow, tomorrow we are waiting for the for the last fire marshal inspection. So, the

025fire marshall will do the final inspection. If everything goes through, that means that our facilities team through the leadership of Miss Randy had already had been working with the fire panel. And once we are good with that, that means that I will be submitting a report to our insurance that we are all in compliance. So um that's that's good news and baseball fields and track and field are being taken care of. I specifically mentioned about those stickers for our players. So if we need to bring additional support to prepare our fields, then that's the plan of the facilities team. Madam President, thank you. Any questions? >> Thank you. Going down to finance report. I'm going to turn it over to a couple of things want to go over is the January checklist and just um

026a couple of expenditures that uh you may have noticed were a little on the higher side. So there was the bus driver training as Dr. Kamada mentioned we got two new subs. So um uh it was for payment training training of um for them uh supplies and materials for the distress best IMSSA incentives. Um we also renewed our FCCLA membership, ancillary services, maintenance and repairs for um our refrigerator and the cafeteria. Um several bus repairs uh fuel for our buses, tech supplies. Uh we did have our bond interest payments on the January checklist as well as our food service management fees and then just um our normal utility bills. Um IBTS were completed this month. Um the IBTS were completed in funds 31900 and 2912 as well as 27149. One bar was submitted and this

027was for a new grant and it is fund 2422 which is the disability innovation fund to be used for supplies and materials. Um some of the discussion items that you guys have already discussed but the state budget passed uh that passed the Senate this week does not include the proposed 1% raise. Um that doesn't mean that the house might not resurrect might resurrect it but as of right now it is dead. um the Senate leaders removed it during budget negotiations and pointed to the proposed increase in employer contributions to health coverage um moving forward that would look at like Dr. mentioned an 8020 premium cost share and this is House Bill 47. As a benefit that will um as a benefit that would be considered more take-home pay for staff. As a comparison um for

028example, a 1% raise for a teacher making60,000 would be $600 for the year. If the proposed increase for the health cost share passes, the employer's paying the employer would pay the 80% of the premiums. the staff paid at 20%. So that would mean a teacher earning 50,000 and above um we see an estimated uh savings of 4,700 per year. So that's where the legislators are saying that this is actually looking like more take-home pay than what the 1% would look like. Um there was also a $35 million shortfall reported by the peed which stemmed from um continued funding for virtual students who were no longer enrolled with the Gallup McKinley schools. After the district ended a contract with the virtual learning provider because the state funds districts based on the prior year enrollment. The budget

029did not adjust quickly enough and this created a funding gap. So now the legislators are addressing this with Senate Bill 19. And so this will just be um funding that $35 million shortfall and and it also will allow um ped and lawmakers to come up with a way of how they can recoup that money and also um how they can do the um the unit value adjusting the unit value. Some of the other um items that um for schools that we would be looking for in the legislative session is the expansion for the universal universal child care and then also um a proposed limit to student cell phone use in schools and this is to improve focus and um instructional outcomes. So that's what I have for budget >> and there's almost have to be

030the governor and the legislation the governor had to do like an emergency bill >> because had there had that emergency bill not passed we would have already start filling that 35,000 hole this year uh setting up the unit value cost. So now that that uh emergency bill passed, it was signed by the governor, it allowed the legislature time to look for ways on how to fund that hole. >> So it would have impacted the way it was presented to us if that emergency if if there would if there's nothing that can be found to flood that hole. For example, if that's the example that was given, they stand to lose about 5 million. So now I just did my rough estimation. I said I googled what's the population of EPS? What's our population? And did

031the simple math and was like simply just just and I don't know the math but I'm just saying just looking at that it's still going to impact us. It would still mean a substitute. It would still mean instructional supplies. it could even be an EA >> if ever. So, uh we're hoping that the legislation that the government would be able to find a way to do that. But having said that, it would impact and there is a bill going on. Um there was a bill uh with the moratorum with supposed to be with a moratorum on all virtual schools. Um definitely uh uh virtual school is not for everybody but traditional school is also not for everybody. What we would like to I would like to see to happen is that it will not be

032punishing for everybody but rather allows and I think the bill is going to the commitment on how to allow I uh the bill is looking at revising the law on distance learning. So but so far we're not seeing any or I'm not um hearing any major impact for us except that uh we would be required to which we are submitting it and if uh as far as our virtual students in our school uh we are recording them if they are uh they just ask us to report how many of our students are virtual and right now we are reporting it based on their course subject and based on the teacher teacher teaching that class and uh by March um board meeting I will be able to give you a rundown as to who are full

033virtual who are part virtual for our school but right now majority of our students are in person >> any public comment uh Yes, we do have. >> So, we have three on the list to make a public comment. Uh, first one is Mark Lucero, second Holly Lopez, and last one is Joseph Lopez. >> And then you do have three minutes to make a public comment. So, >> Mark Mark didn't attend. Um, could I speak on his behalf? >> No, it'd be him. You would have to call to put your name on the list. So we can just move on to Holly. >> Good evening board members and Dr. My name is Holly Lopez. My daughter is Cassie Lopez and she is in the second grade class of Miss Maria. I want to start by saying

034I understand >> president. Sorry. If we can just make sure that we don't that we preserve the privacy of >> Yeah. Don't say the name of the student of my I can't say the name of my daughter. >> Yeah. Okay. Well, I have a daughter in second grade. I want to say that I understand that there are policies and confidentiality rules and I understand that we can't speak of specific details of personnel matters. I'm not asking for that. I'm asking for communication and honestly that's where I fell or feel that we have been failed. For seven days there was a substitute and a couple interventionist in my daughter's classroom with no explanation, no heads up, no message, nothing. As parents, we left trying to figure out what was going on. We talked to each other.

035We hear different things and rumors started to fly. That all could have been avoided with timely communication. Yes, eventually we did receive an email, but the that only happened after I went to the principal, other parents started asking questions and I finally contacted the superintendent. It shouldn't have to come to that to get informed. I spoke with Dr. Kamada and he mentioned trust in the community and I agree trust is important, but trust goes both ways. When communication and is delayed or unclear, it makes you feel like something's being hidden. Even if that's not the case, there are teachers, as Miss Martek and Miss Hogan, that are not just employees. They are staples to this school. They are veteran teachers. They are experienced, consistent, and well-liked. Our kids know them. Our kids trust them. And

036when they're suddenly gone with no explanation that affects the children and honestly no substitute or interventionist can simply step in and replace the kind of relationship or stability. This also feels like a pattern. This is not the first time teachers or staff have been put on any sort of leave and never to come back. um with no communication to us parents about what happened, they just disappear. That's confusing for the kids, unsettling for the families. Parents deserve a final answer. I understand investigations take time, but it's not fair for families to just sit in limbo indefinitely. And at some point, there needs to be a clear and timely resolution, even if that's only telling us they're returning or not. My biggest concern is the long-term plan. If the plan that was sent out to us

037is meant to continue till the end of the school year, that does not work for my daughter. And after speaking with other families, I know that does not work with them either. There has already been conversations about car pulling the Rio Rancho, pulling kids, or figuring something else out. I'm not saying that as a threat. I'm saying it because that's the reality of where us parents are. I have already pulled out my two older sons from this district, and that is not what I want to do for my daughter. But as her mom, my job is to make sure she is in a stable and quality education. We just need clarity. We need communication. And we need to know our children are priority. And as of now, I do not feel that way. That's all

038I'm asking is more communications. Thank you. Good evening, members of the board and Dr. Kamada. My name is Julian Lopez. I as well shared the same concerns my wife just expressed, and I'm here tonight looking for clear answers. My wife met with Dr. Kamada, and several of our questions were not fully addressed. During that conversation, she also asked how we as parents are supposed to communiate communicate directly with our board members. She asked for contact information so we could reach out with our concerns. Instead of being provided with that information, she was offered a meeting with Dr. Kamada. That left us feeling like there is a barrier between parents and the board almost as if communications are being filtered or shielded. So, I want to ask clearly, how are parents supposed to communicate directly with

039their elected school board representatives? Are their decisions being made with full transparency? And our board members fully informed when sign significant staffing decisions such as placing teachers on administrative leave or not renewing contracts are being made. From a parents perspective, it seems that communication is quick and detailed when it benefits administration. But when decisions impact our children's classrooms, communication becomes limited or unclear. That raises serious concerns. I also want to understand what the plan is before staffing changes happen. When a teacher is placed on administrative leave, not rehired, or chooses to leave, what is the immediate plan to protect classroom stability? It should not feel like we are reacting after the fact. For example, regarding the PE position, whether the previous teacher was not rehired, chose to move on themselves, what was the plan to

040ensure that the role was filled? We are well into the school year and still do not have a PE teacher. That directly affects our students and that is just one example. At the last board meeting, we heard that enrollment numbers are incre increasing. Growth can be a good thing, but growth works if the district is doing its part. hiring qualified teachers, supporting staff, and keeping experienced veteran teachers in place to help the grow growth succeed. As parents, we are not asking for conflict. We're asking for transparency, accountability, and clear direction. Our children deserve consistency, and our community deserves openness. With that, one last thing I'd like to know. If we're having a common problem and there's continuing, in this case, it's losing teachers. When are we going to take a step outside and look for

041common factors with this problem? I'm not saying this is the case here, but could it not be that the common factor in all these is Dr. Kamada? Could it not be that he may be the problem? This may or may not be the case, but I don't think it should be overlooked either. Thank you. >> That's it. That's it. >> Thank you. >> Okay, we'll go ahead and roll down to business. Madame President, members of the board, um I'd like to uh recognize Miss Christito. She is our fifth grade elementary teacher and um originally um she well she is pursuing her graduate studies and um we really support our staff members pursuing advancement. As a matter of fact, that's what I would just do. uh making sure that it helps the district if our teachers

042go from tier one to tier two to tier three and um that is uh my that is part of our strategic plan and that is uh what we encourage and what we invest for our futures and this is one of the investment and I'd like to support um this uh endeavor of Miss Christie part of his of her completing her graduate study is to conduct act her thesis and her thesis will uh she chose to um use the data from our school. So having said that I would need permission from the board to allow the research and um giving me the authority to make sure that there are safety nets like in including privacy of uh names of students making sure that the research I will be requiring Miss Pipito to submit to me the

043limitations and the delimitation of the research I will be reviewing the questionnaires making sure that it will not be identifiable. to any particular student or to any particular staff member. The good thing with any research because I asked her is this going to be a qualitative research or a quantitative research. It's it's important to have research because the goal of research is replicatable that we can learn from a research. So I believe that with everything that each of our staff does this is another data source. So that is one of my agreement if if permitted that to use the data to that she would share fully all the results and all the data for the consumption of the school and then I will also require that she uh specifically and completely acknowledge uh the the

044the school for a part being participant of the research. Uh, Miss Pipito, if you don't mind, could you tell us the title of your the draft title of your research? >> Okay, good afternoon. Thank you for this opportunity. Um, my title is the title research study is entitled um live experiences of a teachers in balancing culture and ethology schools. So um can I say something more? >> Thank you. Okay. Um so this um researcher of mine um it's about balancing two very important priorities preserving cultural traditions and integrating technology into instruction. So as a district serving predominantly Native American and Hispanic students, culture is not an add-on to learning. It is the central it is central to who our students are. At the same time, we are responsible for preparing them for digital and global.

045This study explores what it is really like for teachers to navigate both responsibilities at the same time. So um my central question guiding this study is what are the live experiences of K to8 teachers at Hendis Valley public schools as they work to preserve cultural traditions while also integrating technology into their teaching practice. So to better understand that I am going to explore these questions. How teachers describe their most meaningful experiences while balancing culture and technology at the same time. What what are those experiences mean to them? What themes emerge across their stories and what insights can help strengthen culturally responsive and technology enriched teaching in our district? Um this study also focuses on eight experienced teachers K8 during this school year. Participants are purposely selected based on professional experience and teaching tenure to ensure

046that they can provide thoughtful and informed insights. Lastly, for school leaders and policy makers, the findings may inform professional development, equitable resource allocation, and culturally responsive

047policy decisions.
