It's it's amazing to see what this young group has done, not only in athletic department, but in the classroom. And many of them will be coming up. If you haven't seen our best buddies group that Miss Dayton and Mr. Wells has taken a hold of, whatever, seeing this group get involved with that. They're having prince uh Prince Giving this Wednesday. an opportunity to come out here after school and see that it's great. And then last Thursday seeing a lot of many of these athletes being part of

honor study already and many more got inducted Thursday night was a great accomplishment to see many athletes walk across that stage. Many of them give some great speeches in front of our community. So hats off to the young ladies young lady men in the room tonight their families and stuff for the hard work they've done this year during the fall season. We got to brag a little bit about our girls cross country team. We sent five girls to regionals. That was the first time in 20 years we sent five five as a team. Sent

a full team there. So, Coach Richmond said, "Very proud of this group. They're a young group. Look forward to seeing them expand. And like I said, our girls cross country program is growing. So, it's very exciting to see where they're going and the work they're putting in. So, congratulations to you and the entire team." [applause] And then we talk about, you know, the whole thing about being an athlete, but whatever. We always say it goes back to being in the classroom. I just want to say some GPA just so we understand how great these groups are doing and recognize some of these groups, the the top groups. Our girls uh fall cheer ended up with a 3.9 GPA. Our girls golf team was a 3.63. Girls co country was a 3.633. Boys soccer 3.43. Boys

golf 3.3. So, I mean, these groups are and I think I what I really enjoy watching it is the coaches are now competing with each other and their players and talk about who how they can get first place in the GPA. So, it's great to see them competing and getting their players compete to get that high GPA honors uh how to do it. Another exciting stuff for us as we say we grow and stuff like that. Right now, we have eight young ladies signed up for middle school wrestling which is a huge group. We have uh six signed up for high school wrestling right now and the winter guard looks like it's going to be coming back also. So, a lot of Edgewood students are very interested in a lot of things. We're expanding upon

that. It's always exciting to get more students involved and have opportunity to compete and do things at Edgewood City Schools. So, thank you for your time. >> Thank you all for coming. Next on the agenda is public participation and we don't have anybody signed up So, next we want to go to treasure items. Mrs. Boward, would you like to start? >> Yes, Mr. Gabbert, I would like to ask for a motion to approve the board minutes from the October 27th, 2025 meeting. >> Looking for a motion to approve the board minutes of October 27th. >> Motion to approve. >> Mr. Thomas, do I have a second? 013Mr. Andrew Presley. >> Yes. >> Motion carries 50. Uh item B is a facility usage form. I'd like to ask for a motion to approve that, please. >> Looking for a motion to approve the facility use usage form as presented. So move. Mr. Measure Smith. I second. Second. >> Mr. Thomas. Discussion. Is there anything different on this than what we've been doing? >> Uh yes. Down under personel. Um, we had $45 an hour for cook and custodian. Um, we've increased that to 65. The site manager and tech specialists went from 55 to 75. We have also added um $5 uh for tables and a dollar for chairs. That's different. And then on the back, these forms used to go to Alicia Adams. They're now coming to me because we submit the invoices for them. Just

makes sense to come through my department. >> I would like to add that this is typically for outside organizations >> when they come in. It's on weekends. So, we're looking at some overtime and >> Right. Any more discussion? Makes >> sense to me. >> Mrs. B, would you call RO, please? >> Mr. Mark Measure. >> Yes. >> Mr. John Thomas. 015the roll, please. >> Mrs. Amy Ashcott, >> yes. >> Mr. Mark Measure, >> yes. >> Mr. Gary Gabbert, >> yes. >> Mr. Andrew Crestler, >> yes. >> Mr. John Thomas, >> yes. >> Motion carries 5. That's all I have this evening. >> Thank you, Mr. Bowers. Mr. Philpot. Second, I got nothing that needs a vote. Actually, one item is under personnel a little bit later, and that's a new supplemental job description we've worked on. um with the supplemental review committee and that is to um we talked about maybe some positions that we cut over the past three years that were pretty impactful and trying to not necessarily bring them back with some of the responsibilities and we were falling a little bit short in this area and one thing is um just telling our story

getting the word out trying to trying to just like promoting these athletes and I think we're recognized so we instead of trying to bring back a full-time position and a full-time salary benefit s we thought we probably have the right person internally in our in the system that can do a really good job of telling these stories and promoting our programs academically and extracurriculars just total total edgewood and uh we did that through a supplemental and um job description coming forth and uh the supplemental committee was uh we met a couple times talked about it they were all in favor of it as well so pretty excited about that off the ground hopefully have a candidate for you guys at the next board meeting. Um again, so that we can start telling our story instead

of having others tell our story about good things that are going on um for the rest of the year and hopefully move forward. >> We're trying to talk telling us >> Yeah. Try to talk stories. But uh and then another thing I've been working on and I I actually had a a work session this week with a couple committee members. Um we are going to probably have a a resolution to present to you guys in December a uh a hall of fame for um not not athletics but more or less uh not it's not necessarily academics uh distinguished alumni people who have graduated from schools Trenton Child Wayne um seven mile that have really done above and beyond whether it's service to the community the state the nation the world for in their in their

career, whatever it is, military, arts, science, attorney, doctor, whatever. Just above and beyond. And um we're working on the nomination process, uh kind of an oversight committee, some bylaws, and so we can establish this this group. And uh um I'm working with uh Dr. Bley uh who's also on the athletic hall. We're just mirroring some of the things that they've done, also doing some things different. Dale Perry and then Bob Kim. We're kind of the oversight committee and there'll be a selection committee that'll that'll be uh that'll be determined and like to have board member, current or former board member be a part of this moving forward as well. So pretty excited about it and share that with you guys more at the next board meeting. And then the last thing, the superintendent and treasurers

are going to be putting out communication to all communities in the entire county Friday. And is literally just um just to show some unity about all the changes that's going on in Columbus in terms of school funding, the the funding formula, how schools like ours and many others are are really prime to see some pretty deep cuts with some of these changes and talking about property tax. It's not It's not a whiny cry. It's literally we agree, you know, the superintendents and treasures agree that property taxes are a problem, but we need some reform that still provides for our communities and our schools in that. So, just giving you guys a heads up that's coming out on Friday. I think it's going to be Warren County, Butler County, Emory County, Hamilton County. I think it's

it's almost like a a statewide push just to just to call for some balance in the in the thinking. Um because uh you know I mean yeah I'd love to see my property taxes repealed but we still got to pay for schools, police, fire and roads and how are we going to do that? What's that going to look like? We don't have a plan just to pull the plug but what are we going to do? So um so it's just a letter that will be released uh pretty much at least countywide maybe beyond that. So just want to give you guys a heads up but that's all I got. pretty busy. >> So that that alumni, distinguished alumni that you're talking about, um do you have like is it too early to have details on

that or are you still working some of those? >> Well, we've got we've got a pretty good we got a pretty good draft. We're pretty close to present to you guys a draft. Um we're talking about uh um having a selection committee of 10 10 folks uh have to be out of school 10 years. Uh pretty open-ended. Uh we we think there needs to be a character component as well as just the fact that you really excelled in your career above and beyond the norm. Um we pretty much spelled out the criteria for that. We also want to we want to nominate up to five or select up to five uh alumni a year and um would like to do that annually. We'd also like to select up to I can't remember if it's one

or two um honorary distinguished alumni who may not be an Edgewood graduate but really serve the community or serve the school. That could be an employee, could be a coach, could be a community member that's always at the ball games volunteering, could be someone in the community that volunteers again that have really separated themselves in their service to our kids, our community and in the in the schools. And um so pretty excited. Like I said, we're working on some bylaws so that uh you know, we can kind of safeguard the structure and uh if if if the if the committee wants to change the bylaws, it'll take like a super majority to do that just so that so that it's got some organization to it and we're fine-tuning those things and uh we hope that

uh we can start if we get approval from the board and we get these things adopted uh maybe the rest of this uh this school year uh possibly look forward to having first class be the the class of 2026 and um either do that in the spring or do it in the fall of 2027. We're still not worked out the details if we wanted to do it around graduation time in the spring so that maybe we're having these people back at spring awards night so that our students can see and hear from these these these outstanding alumni that have done a lot of great things to just kind of inspire them because that's kind of the mission of it is to provide some good role models and of what graduates can do. And um we're

still working out those details, but it it's it's a lot of fun. We spent two hours this week and uh u really felt like we got some good work done. So I'm excited to get you guys in a draft to look at next month. >> You think like a physical location where here in this building? >> Scott and I have been talking. We think the pictures [clears throat] are kind of um dated in age. We're thinking maybe about trying to put out like a big uh electronic hall of fame that not only does athletics but does the distinguished alumni and you could also put like your class photos. It would be a touchcreen right on the right on the entrance over there when you come in across from the gym. We might have to relocate

some things because there's power behind that. They make these big uh big huge touch screens that you can you can swipe and see and you know have videos and a lot of schools are going to electronic call. That's our roll system. They got a big scroll through it and everything. >> Yeah, we we did that. We did that at Madison for our call back when I was there years ago. And it was it was very low tech because we just used like a PowerPoint to scroll, but everything's touchscreen now. But uh it was it was pretty good because uh we were also able to scan all of our class photos. We high resolution scan. So like you could go back through all the the class photos that used to be hanging in the library over

Madison. digitized them. You could like literally go in, you could zoom right in on a face that didn't pixelate. We spent a lot of money to get a scan just to preserve them because they were like our pictures in the uh in the Cougar lobby down there. I mean, those are those are deteriorating and uh if we don't scan them, we'll >> treat uh Scott, if you don't mind me asking, do we still have that software? >> Yeah, the kiosk. We still own the software. >> We still own the software. It's not buying the TV and the pedestal for the software. >> Okay, >> that's good stuff. >> Yeah, >> I like the idea making that stuff digital. New Miami actually had a leak that destroyed every class picture from late 1990s going back to

first class pictures that they had destroyed every one of them. So, this is a great idea. Yeah, you could not you could not only do all the uh digitize the seven mile trip photos, you could start digitizing in all your Edgewood classes. >> We don't have anything in the past though, do we? >> What's that? >> Edgewood class pictures date back to '7s. >> I don't know if we have them somewhere out there. I mean, if we if we do have them, if they exist, I mean, what what they did in the old days is they just took the head shot and they put them on those, you know, put them on those boards, the head shot. >> I don't know if they exist or not. >> There books. I don't know what year we

stopped on it. I know like my year. Yeah, I know a lot of yearbooks they get a picture. >> Thank you, Mr. Phil. >> I think it's a great idea to to put them on the digital. I've seen that at several different schools where they just kind of roll as you [clears throat] stand there and watch it. Once we get approval, the next big thing we're going to have to do is raise funds. But I I think there's going to be enough. >> Was that all you have? >> That's all I have. >> All right. Thank you. >> Next up, we have items from board members. Mr. Meser. So, had an opportunity last week to go to the uh the Edgewood Middle School Veterans Day ceremony. Um, phenomenal job as always was really awesome. The

uh the food was good and uh just really felt good to be uh to be a part of that. I know EIS did one. Um John, I know you were there to go talk about that, but I'll let you I'll save that for you. Um just really awesome to see the support in the district for that kind of stuff because I I think it's important. Um I did have an opportunity to sit down with the student advisory council at the middle school and I tell you that was a pretty incredible experience and I would highly encourage all of you if you get a chance to go do that. Um, I walked away and I thought, you know, all the things that we talk about, all the answers that we search for were sitting around that

table and I found it really interesting. We talked about um we talked about reading and a lot of those students that were sitting around that table said they don't feel like they were reading at the right grade level as they've moved through and that they feel like they're catching up. right now. We've had some conversations about, you know, reading and progress and stuff, and most of those kids felt that they were very strong in math, but they were behind in in reading. So, just a lot of um really a lot of good discussion around that table and I actually had a really good time listening to them because they're just so full of life and there was so much energy and and you know, a lot of really good critical thinking. Um, I did hear

him kind of talk a little bit about food and um, I know that the Chartwells contract was a one-year contract. We're coming up on the the halfway point. Um, I would like to maybe in the December meeting kind of have some discussion around that. I don't know if we're prepared to do that, but just kind of see where we're at with that, what's going well, what's not going well. Um, I have some opinions based off of some feedback that I've got. um if if things aren't going well, you know, we're at that halfway point where we could correct them and fix them before we get to the to the end of the year. So, I would just ask that maybe as an agenda item in the uh the December meeting, if we could have some

conversation just around Chartwells, how's it going? Um are we happy with what we've got? Is the feedback from the students and the staff positive? Just where where are we where are we at with that? And if it's if the answers if there's if there's opportunities that are there, I think we've got plenty of time to uh to adjust before we get to the end of the year and say that this just didn't work and look at something different. So, I think it'd be a really good opportunity to to assess that. Um, but I personally think it's been a it was an awesome week at the at the middle school, the stuff I got to see and just very very blessed to have been a part of it. That's all I got. >> Thank you, Mr.

Smith. Mr. tubs. >> Well, as Mark said, I went to the one of you guys which was tremendous as well. So, John brought the band over. Parents walked the halls. Good breakfast, the whole bit. It just was a really, really good day for for veterans. Emily and her group did just a fantastic job. I've been to it before in the past and it's always a very good thing to attend. Also, I saw one of our alumni, Sean Fryman, got inducted to the veterans hall of fame in Butler County. I know Mark, I believe you're in that as well. So, uh, which is quite an honor. That was in that was posted in different social media outlets, so on so forth. So, that was kind of cool. Also, this Sunday, we have two alumnists. won Dave

Bond class of 1977 and then Larry Mill who was a class of 70 with Trenton. Larry was a great basketball player went on to college Eastern Illinois played basketball terrific career and really great team he was on that last year they went to the regions and got beat by Lincoln Heights who consolidated with Princeton became state champions that year. It's back when we only had single A, double A. Most you athletes left out, but and then Dave Bond was class of 77 and Dave was on, I think, the first league championship team here. And then he went on to Kentucky with the full ride and uh played Kentucky. He was on the last SEC championship team. Then he played there. He became outstanding lineman at Kentucky his senior year and then signed with the Atlanta

Falcons. So the NFL I think probably the only guy we ever had signed with the NFL but that was that strike year for some of you old people. So when strike hit they told them all to go home there was about unless they cross the line and they didn't cross the line and just went ahead and start career but both of them were going to the Butler County Sports Hall of Fame this Sunday which is quite an honor. So good week. Good week. >> Thank you Mr. Thomas Mr. President. So, I wasn't at the veterans thing, but I thought we decided a long time ago Mark wasn't going first. Didn't we? >> We did. That was last >> I got one meeting left after that. >> That's all I got. Alphabetical first. >> Yeah, >>

I agree. Alphabet. >> Thank you, Mr. Wrestler. This is Ashra. >> Um, well, I didn't go to veterans here at work. Um, but I just want to congratulate Mr. Fall, Mr. Masher Schmidt, and Miss Barnes, I know she's not here, on um your successful run for board. So, we will have a new board starting in January. Very disappointed in Mr. Gabard. Um, and Mr. Kler. >> Oh, you're excited. What about me? >> Well, I was getting excited. >> Can't wait for that. No, I just want to congratulate you guys and welcome you. I mean, I know Mark's been here, but Mr. Um, >> since you sold it, so your sister like I told you about that last night. >> It was busy. I couldn't get to >> You couldn't get to her? >> They did

all. >> Oh, okay. And your kids didn't sit with you. >> What is wrong with either one of them? >> Yeah. All right. Well, that's all I have. I just want to congratulate them and hopefully we'll have a good two years cuz I'm out too, but you guys have a good tour. So, >> you ain't Yeah. >> Thank you, Mrs. Ash, for having me. I really don't have a lot to add, but tonight was one of the nights that you do appreciate being on the board when you get to see these kids come in here. And for the most part, I think majority of them showed up, which is pretty impressive because a lot of them season's over. They're done. So, kudos to them for showing up. I appreciate that. At this time, I'm going

to look for a motion to move to executive session for the following reasons. to consider the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion, or compensation of a public employee or official. So, Mr. Measure Schmidt, do I have a second? >> Second. >> Mr. Thomas, Mrs. Bower, would you call the RO, please? >> Mr. Mark Measurement. >> Yes. >> Mr. John Thomas. >> Yes. >> Mr. Gary Gabard. >> Yes. >> Mr. Xandra.
