including those that differ from your own. Thank you for understanding Our first speaker this evening is Marlene pray from Doylestown borough. Good evening My name is Marlene pray. My pronouns are she her I'm a longtime Doylestown resident a CBSD parent a board member of NAMI and the NAACP of Bucks County and an ambassador for the welcoming schools initiative of the human rights campaign and While I'm not speaking tonight on behalf of the rainbow room. I am proud to be its founder and director For nearly a quarter century. The rainbow room has offered a safe affirming space for LGBTQ plus youth in this community Because every young person deserves to grow up knowing they are valued loved and protected Each week the CB students who attend the rainbow room share what they experience in our schools

they tell us about moments of belonging and kindness of teachers and peers who stand up for them respect them and Engage them in the school community But over the last two years we continue to hear about an escalation of bullying fear in hallways classrooms and bathrooms Confusion about policies that affect them and their daily lives and even hesitation To attend clubs because they don't feel fully protected or welcomed They tell us that what matters most to them is simple adults who believe them Adults who stand up for them who take time to learn who refuse to support Harmful policies and who respect their pronouns. These are not burdens These are opportunities to show young people that we are worthy of their trust For the last two years our community has asked this district to move

past censorship and toward curiosity understanding and inclusion The very recent decision to return to formally banned books to the shelves at cb south Is a meaningful and important important step it reflects what is possible when we choose learning and critical thinking over fear Now we have the opportunity and the responsibility To make sure those same books are also accessible at cb west and cb east where students deserve the same access to representation information and truth I also want to acknowledge the students who helped bring us to this moment dozens of young people Organized researched rallied protested and stood at this podium out of hurt and anger But also out of hope they endured hostility and even violence in this very building They persevered because they believe their voices mattered many have since graduated but their

courage helped reshape this board Into one that is capable of leading with integrity and compassion We honor them best by continuing the work they began And this year offers us a chance to take another meaningful step Raise the pride flag at the start of pride month at our schools and here at the administrative building Pride flags reflect our values and our commitments They say to every student lgbtq plus or not that our district is a place where inclusion is hidden is not hidden but embraced This is also a moment to strengthen evidence-based support for lgbtq plus students And provide ongoing training and resources for teachers and staff when we make our district safer for lgbtq Plus youth we make it safer for black and brown students immigrant students students with disabilities Muslim and jewish students

and anyone who has ever wondered if they will be accepted for being themselves We have the opportunity tonight and going forward to choose courage care and clarity to build a district that reflects the very best of who we are May we honor the courage and creativity of our queer young people by building a district that is worthy Of the hope they carry and the light they shine Let's get those books on the shelves. Let's raise that flag that has been waiting to fly here in cb Let's get to work. Thank you Okay moving on I will now open the floor to nominations for the office of president May I have nominations for president? With so much. Thanks and gratitude I nominate heather reynolds for school board president. I second Are there any other nominations? Seeing

That's all in favor. I apologize all in favor The vote is a resounding yes in favor of heather reynolds who has been elected school board president So I just I do have a couple words, um that I'd like to say Good evening everyone First I want to start by welcoming our newly elected board directors and our returning members Congratulations on your successful campaigns We're all genuinely looking forward to working with you and supporting one another in the work that we have ahead Over the last two years. I've learned that when a board is functioning Well, when we stay grounded

in our mission and focused on what matters the work speaks for itself It's steady Thoughtful and focused and keeps the spotlight exactly where it belongs on our students As I accept the nomination for president. I've been thinking about the values. I talked about last year humility integrity transparency and respect Those still guide me and i'm grateful for the trust this community and this board Has placed in me to help lead our district This year we have big decisions and the implementation of large district-wide initiatives selecting key cabinet leaders Implementing realignment and expanding full-day kindergarten to all 15 of our elementary schools to name a few These will undoubtedly shape the future of our district for years to come I have every confidence that this board working with our administration and our community will approach them

with care and collaboration To our community. I want you to know that I am here and I am accessible I welcome your thoughts questions and hopes for our district for the remainder of my term I remain committed to leading with openness and respect for every corner of this district Thank you for the opportunity to serve And i'm optimistic about what we'll accomplish together and grateful to continue this work on behalf of all our students. 017to be a question and answer session If a question is posed the individuals may be referred to the superintendent for follow-up When your name is called, please approach the podium and begin by stating your name and municipality Each speaker is allotted three minutes You'll be asked to cease your comments at three minutes We kindly ask that all comments be directed to the board as a whole rather than to individual members We do appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a respectful environment Please be considered of all speakers and their opinions including those that differ from your own. Thank you for understanding and with that Our first speaker tonight is elizabeth tolless warwick township Good evening members of the school board. My name is elizabeth tolless and I live in warwick I'm here tonight to continue the conversation

around unified sports and central bucks This program is not just a sport. It is the embodiment of inclusion sportsmanship and opportunity for all students In september, I spoke on behalf of my non-speaking son emet who is a junior at east Tonight while advocating for him. I will focus Excuse me I will be focusing our conversation around the athletics points budget that passed at last month's board meeting A profound disparity still lives within our athletic budget and continues to send the wrong message about the value We place on the mission of unified bocce and unified sports So let's look at the numbers A head coach for a high-profile sport like basketball or wrestling receives 25 alloticated points Which is a stipend of eight thousand one hundred twenty five dollars The unified bocce head coach who also

dedicates their time to building this incredible inclusive environment Is alloticated just two point five points That translation that translate to a stipend of only eight hundred twelve dollars and fifty cents Before I move forward. I want to acknowledge that this is not a comparison of program worth or to say that other coaches are overpaid When the district set the compensation for unified bocce head coach at only 10 percent of what we pay other head coaches Central bucks school district is functionally devaluing their professional commitment They handle administrative duties Long hours and the same emotion emotional investment as every other coach I know this to be true because on october 27th The east community received an email stating that the bocce program would not continue If a qualified applicant did not come forward in the next

two days On october 28th, I applied for the job On october 31st, I interviewed On november 12th, I was hired and today after school. I met with my team for their first practice More important than how it devalues my work. This low stipend sends a damaging message to my athletes all of them In high school sports the budget often reflects importance By underfunding the coaching position the district is implying that the achievements the dedication And the sheer joy of my unified athletes is somehow worth less than their peers The unified sports program is a source of pride for our entire community It's time to align our compensation practices with the values that we preach My son and the athletes I coach are worth more than a 10 to 1 difference This is a prime example

of the ongoing systemic undervaluing of students with disabilities in the central bucks school district I urge you to close the gap and demonstrate that every student athlete and every coach who supports those student athletes Is equally valued Thank you Thank you Next is ed mackhouse buckingham township ed mackhouse buckingham township former teacher I taught in the 70s and physicists discovered the structure of the electron proton and neutron value engineer and knowing the value of expenditures I'm not able to be like a school board member. It takes a lot of work and dedication and I hope you do your responsibility as well as you can you have to represent the different viewpoints of the people Although you're only all democrats. It's a balanced school district. We have republicans independents democrats I feel we have to have

adults Run the schools not children The idea of is education not indoctrination the gays against grooming most gays Believe in respect for women and the gays against grooming are against transgenders men Giving superior position being able to degrade women and not treat women fairly and properly This is a threat to all gays because gays will be blamed if a if a girl was beat up in a sport And not able to get the scholarships My sons did very well in the swim team, but there was girls who sent ace of five Every All year round practiced swimming my sons could have beat all those girls But the girls Deserved recognition and getting their scholarships. So gays against grooming is even not not gay I believe that they are protecting against grooming and the pride flag

People were sworn in to support the constitution the constitution is a balance that no one has everyone should be treated equally girls should be treated equally and not degraded by Transgender men who are physically superior So also there's a big a lot of billions of dollars involved medically in this transgender surgeries cost about a million dollars and they They're unsuccessful to need other things Girls don't like puberty. So puberty blockers Are not good and they're They keep the girls from having being able to reproduce later and all and they regret this later. So We have to look at it Everyone has sexual problems But it shouldn't all be public if if a child once has groomed and they want to come out as gay I i've met kids on the street who are thrown out

on the street because they didn't get along with their parents So the parents have the responsibility for their children and no teacher has the right to have the child come out Without the knowledge and consent of the parents who who when the child is picked on and bullied Because they came out And because they thought all the children would support them. Mr. Macaulay. Thank you. Thank you and marlene prey left so she can't be Questioned although lgbtq. Mr. Macaulay three minutes. Thank you. Thank you Okay Next item on the agenda is board comment Yes, yes, oh, okay Um, I would like to say that this past year serving as this school board's president was Challenging but rewarding and i'm so grateful that I had that opportunity to serve in this role And to support our

fellow school board members our district our staff our students Everyone and I really really enjoyed it. But most importantly, I could not have done it without heather reynolds support And working side by side with her as as vice president. I could not have done the job as well as I did I'm grateful for her stepping into the role as president And i'm grateful to support her as she supported me in this role for the next year And I believe that we will have a very productive year on this board and i'm grateful for all of you and congratulations on winning Your elections for those of you who won elections and i'm grateful to serve with those who are serving with me Continuing to serve with me. Thank you Thank you. I have to I will

just second the the feelings of Comradery and and just support from you susan And so i'm grateful to be able to work with you moving forward and this entire board I really look forward to working with each and every one of you To move our district forward to keep bringing, you know, bringing the good being the good seeing the good It's really important that we keep continuing this good work together And we're stronger together, so I hope that that's the way that we are able to move forward Um, so thank you all thank you I have any other comments Okay, hearing none meaning uh motion to adjourn Oh lots of uh Moved by mrs foley and seconded by mr harry no more mrs smith.
